#Will Winx really get a good 3d animation?

Reboot Bloom!💗
I want to be optimistic about this Winx reboot but tbh I'm not that excited for it. I can see why they decided to reboot it but I'd prefer it if they continued with the original series or made a spin-off show.
The animation in the trailer is good but I can't help but think it looks like any other 3d cartoon nowadays. It has definitely lost that unique and recognisable style.
As for Bloom's new look, i really like her hair, and how long it is in that one clip in her room, it reminded me of the dolls i had of her. Her outfit is ok, I'm not a fan of the pink jacket it looks very childish and something that she would wear in like season 8. Maybe if it was in a different colour I'd like it more. On the other hand I really really like her leg warmers, it's so her! It reminds me of her Love&Pet look!
Also you might've noticed i changed the colour of her shoes and belt from black to a dark pink. Unless it's like concert outfits or hallowinx then I'd prefer if the Winx didn't wear black. I despise black in general but on the Winx it makes them feel much less magical.
Anyways, I'll be looking forward to any new information we can get and hope Rainbow manages to surprise. At least I'm sure it won't be as bad as Fate. I still hoped they had continued the original series. I hate the fact that it never got a proper ending. They could at least act like they cared about the show and have given it a 9th and final season..

Hi! What are your opinions on the leaks of the new season of Winx? Did you like the animation or the costumes?
My feelings on the new leaks are mixed.
On one hand, I'm a bit iffy on some of the designs (*cough* Stella *cough*), but on the other hand, I see where they were going with it and I think most of them will grow on me. The transformations I'm not hugely fond of, especially since Rainbow is leaning towards full reboot, so these being the starter transformations just doesn't sit right with me. They feel a bit busy while also being a bit lacking in personality (except Musa, who always get the best transformations and now is no exception). And the wings, while unique compared to the past few we've got, they all feel like the same shape. They are far more personalised, though, which I do like.
I am hard side-eyeing the fact that Musa seems to be lacking monolids in the final design. They could include that in the concept art, but not the actual show??
As for the animation, I think they're doing a pretty good job for the medium! I prefer 2D over 3D, especially for winx, but I understand why they made the decision, and I think they're making the best of it. I have a small feeling that the transformations will be a little lacklustre, but that tends to be a given in 3D if it's not a million dollar Disney movie. Honestly, as long as the story is good, the animation doesn't have to be amazing. Flora's transformation looks well-done for what we've seen.
Things I'm very excited about, though, are 1. the voice-acting, and 2. the new Alfea design.
The voices they used in the teaser are, imo, amazing choices! They sound, to me, like a good mix between the cinelume dub and the 4kids dub, which not only adds to the familiarity but also, the og voices were well cast and reflected the personalities in a way these new voices seem to do. Special mention to Flora's VA sounding Hispanic to reflect her being coded as Latina. Also, Tecna's made me laugh because she sounds like every emo character ever, and the contrast between her original personality and the emo voice is hilarious. Not bad, but certainly strange.
As for the new Alfea, I love it. It looks fantastic! It certainly sets a precedent for the environments we'll see throughout the show, and I really hope they live up to it. The classrooms look fabulous and the individual rooms we've seen (Wizgiz, Palladium, Faragonda, the dorm common area, the library) are all detailed in the best way. They have so much personality and the architecture is stunning. Even if the show ends up bad, if the scenery is even half as good as the concept art, I'll be happy.
Overall, I have my gripes, but I knew from the first announcement that I would. Rainbow can't please everyone, and even if they're doing a lot to please the older fans, it has to still be able to draw in a new audience. This reboot is a huge gamble for them, so I'll remain cautiously optimistic and try to not bash on it before it comes out.

Why Miraculous LadyBug Is the Worst Thing To Happen To Magical Girl Genre in All Its History.
It would be easy to sit here and tell you all the logical reasons why Ladybug is a bad show. It has horrible pacing, it has low stakes, repetitive episodes, and a dialogue that is cringe worthy enough to get its own tiktok sound.
But saying that, would be beating a dead horse at this point. Everyone knows this show is a bunch of wasted potential, only made worse by a director who keeps thinking he created gold, when in fact he messed up in a lot of areas – particularly the fact that he’s a grown man who thinks he knows what little girls want.
I’m not here for that.
Particularly, because I can be quite forgiving to shows like this. I mean, they’re kids' shows! Meant for little girls, and I haven’t been one for a few years now. But I still enjoy them.
Why? Well, cause I’m a massive fan of Magical Girl animes. I love the glitter, the sparkles, the silly adventures with friends, and the transformation sequences! Even with all its flaws, I really like them. So, stories or shows that borrow from them, get a pass in all these things.
I mean, I have fun re-watching WINX Club, I love Star Vs The Forces of Evil despite its flaws. Steven Universe holds a deep place in my heart and She-Ra is…She-Ra is in its very own league of how amazing it is.
So, no. Be it a very dumb show or a very smart one, I can have fun. It’s very rare when a show with, you know, glitter, girly stuff and animals CAN’T hold my attention.
But, well, MLB failed at that.
It’s just, not a good show.
I mean, it could be. But the age demographic would need to drop several, several age groups just to be barely watchable – and even then, I seriously doubt that it would be good for young girls to watch it. The lessons it teaches are concerning, to say the least.
And at this point, you may be thinking,
"Why do you care so much about this show? It’s dumb and you’ve acknowledged it treats its demographic as toddlers. Why do you care so much?"
Well, because I've been here... for a very, very long time.
Listen, I started watching Miraculous Ladybug, back when I was in high school. Maybe a bit old, but, hey, a lot of unique cartoons came out around that time. (Star Vs, Steven Universe, etc). So, I was hopeful. Really hopeful.
Mainly, because I was here before it EVEN premiered. I remember it. The original PV was 2D animated and it had this vague Princess Tutu vibes that JUST I couldn’t resist. It was clear as day that it borrowed a lot of its inspiration from magical girls from the 90's, probably even 80's.
The premise looked similar enough to Kaito Jeanne, and Kaito St. Tail for me to draw those conclusions.
It had a dynamic very similar to Princess Tutu and seemed like a mix of silly and dark like that one was.
To be honest, I could even see hints of Sugar Sugar Rune with Pierre and Felix.
Not to mention, the animation was beautiful.
I will never, never forget that scene with Chat looking at Ladybug starry-eyed under the Paris Moonlight. That was so beautiful, a genuine touch of romance that rang so similar to the Magical Girl animes I grew up with.
I was thrilled, I was excited. I wanted this show to succeed, before even the premier had dropped.
This is all to say -
I never came to this show with the intention for it to fail.
And I didn’t expect nor want it to be ground-breaking or a giant of the genre. I just hoped I could have a fun time.
I didn't want subversions, I didn't want it to be dark, or deep. All I wanted, was sparkles, fun and a good time.
So, when it first aired, I tried to stay positive. I tried to like it, even when it had all these massive red flags.
I’ve never been a big fan of 3D animation, and especially not how it’s used in Magical Girl animes. (We all know the disaster the first season of Sailor Moon Crystal was).
But I swallowed it down.
The characters were different from the original PV
But I swallowed it down.
The background scenery was bland and generic and hardly felt unique.
But I swallowed it down.
I was here since day 1. I was here when Stormy Weather premiered. I was here before many of you were, and
I swallowed it all down.
Because I really, really wanted this to be good.
And I really thought it would.
But things should have been made clear, when they fucked up the one thing they shouldn't. The one thing that held this all together. The one thing that kept me here even as everything was burning to the ground, and I was too naive to realize it.
They fucked up the thing that started all this, to begin with.

Mermaid Magic is a decent tech demo for the future and I'm cautiously optimistic for the Winx Reboot
I was very negative on Mermaid Magic when it was announced and when I saw how the marketing was done. There's still no merch announced for Italy or Europe in general, no dolls, nothing. Hopefully the Rai broadcast brings something from licensors, but nothing has been leaked or announced.
Yet, I will say that it was a very enjoyable watch, despite some flaws (it gets better as you keep watching!). It really felt like I was watching something from early Rainbow, more in line with the Winx movies (SOTLK and 3D) in terms of writing and Rainbow's classic quirks that got ironed out with Nick's acquisition and subsequent demands from broadcasters. Large male cast, plenty of diversity, very pretty backgrounds and worldbuilding, decent animations (despite a very obvious low budget) and surprisingly complex plot (for the target audience, of course). We even got some monster guts and human blood. And butt shots. Butt shots are back. These are all healthy signs.
If the reboot is as decent as Mermaid Magic we're good. And considering the immense budget and marketing, they better not fumble this!

Rewatching winx rn and just wanted to know, Which winx movie is your favourite? And why?
Omggg this question is so fucking hard
I love Secret of the Lost Kingdom SOOO much, it's my childhood fave, and I could scream about the big Rivusa kiss forever if I must, the fight that opened the movie is one of the best in the whole series fight me, it was funny as fuck, the worst fears sequence was amazing, AND THE DAPHNE AND BLOOM FIGHT WAS SK GORGEOUS BLOOM WITH DAPHNE MASK WAS SO GORGEOUS
On the other hand Magical Adventure is so GOOD, it brought back Bloom attacking people, some fucking PEEK Riven characterization, it confirmed my Erendor is evil theory and almost made him interesting, they gave TIMMY jokes god bless, actually bothered to characterize Bloom's parents, gave me the specialists training the Winx in physical combat which i will forever be grateful for, and the TRIX AND ANCESTRAL WITCHES COMBINATION IM SCREAMING!!!!
I'm gonna say Magic Adventure, but only barely. This is just because Magical Adventure has less "Bloom and Sky are the most perfect and specialist people in the world" bs and because "Riven gets mind controlled and accidentally hurts Musa" is a plot point I've seen before in s1 and feels lazy to do it again
I still like the 3rd movie, because I have a soft spot for these movies and I actually like the 3d art style (but not as much in the show, it's kinda jarring, and it's clear not as much time is put into it. So sometimes you get some genuinely gorgeous animation and other times Darcy's hair is a wood plank) but it's also really really bad and I cannot stand the song that plays when they are doing the orientation thing so I don't watch it nearly as much as the other two

It's not only that the colors will get lost and the actors look as much like the characters as the fucked up Zorro plushie that I saw today. The manga/anime Genre is generally not able to get transformed well into life action. It's excessive, expressive, it has its own logic. What is training in an anime would be a high stakes fight in real life. You can't translate Tom and Jerry into real life series and you can't with most anime.
Anime is a genre that generally has a lot of meaning in the way characters are drawn. Someone looking down, the top half of their face only shadows or a variation where their face is in the shadow but their eyes clearly visible. Eyes generally change a lot with meaning (getting angry, sad, mad, emotionless,...) which... Guess what, you can't really translate that. Like sure, use contacts but... That's not everything. They change size, how many colors and the shades, the amount of light. You can't grin as much as ruffy does and can't cry like the anime versions.
It's a soulless colorless shitty cashgrab and even the creator of One Piece knows it's bullshit.
Naruto Fans hate the fight scene with Pain (bc let's face it it looks like they took pictures of kids and let interns finish them) and One Piece Fans should see that the series is shit too. If the creators had any respect for the source material they wouldn't have done the series.
If you change the medium for a series or movie, then make sure it matches the original or change it up enough that it makes sense as an AU or something. A dream, another lifetime, an inverted world. But you can't copy paste everything and pretend it fits if around 90% that makes the original the original cannot be translated and is lost.
Make a One Piece real life series, alright. But it's not One Piece.
You can't make a good "real life" version of the lion king and other fairytails, you can't make a good Winx Club or death note life action. Even the Asterix and Obelix movies lost a lot of their original charme when they got translated into a different medium. I'd say what makes you think you can do One Piece justice but they don't think so. They know it's shit and do it anyway bc money.
I hate good cartoons having turned into ugly and soulless 3D animated series and always did but... This is another level. The 3D just look worse but at least they can mostly do what the cartoons could.
Sorry to say but if you want quality content then boycott the shit they put out without a care for money. If they don't get money from it, they probably stop.
Go for the original One Piece, the creator is fighting for OP getting included in western media and it didn't work. He knows the movie is shit but can't say much bad about it bc it's pretty much the only way to introduce it to western mainstream media.
oh god the live action one piece based on a very bright and colorful anime is going to be impossible to see like every movie in the past 10 years

my ranking of the winx club openings! (from worst to best)
here is the complication i referenced #, i specifically searched for some & they’re all uploaded by WinxClubEnglish. sorry if i forgot some! let me know and i’ll add it on :)
and the worst winx club opening is, winx club s8 —
• with the whitewashing, art style, weird creatures ?, and the winx as a band, i think it’s the worst out of the winx openings.
winx club s7 —
• there is so much to say about this opening. first of all, the lyrics. “come get up and play,” it sounds like a toy commercial. the song is repetitive.
• i think the dancing aspect is weird, and i hate that their outfits all look the same but with different colors :(
world of winx —
• i’ve never watched WOW, but i think the art style is interesting (however, i don’t support/condone the whitewashing). it seems to be about spies/a music band?
• i hate the song. especially the lyrics.
winx club s6 —
• one of the last winx club seasons i remember watching. overall, i think it’s okay, it’s nothing memorable though (again with the synchronized dancing ??)
winx club s5 —
• the 3D animation is odd? and again with the word play, (“because we came to play”). i think the intro/song is more interesting than s6 though.
winx club s1/2 nick, then winx club s3 nick —
• i do like the song, but the sequence is boring in comparison to the others (just has the winx + their name)
winx club s4 nick —
• it’s the dub that i grew up watching! so i do like the intro song mostly because of nostalgia, and overall i think it’s catchy. i do like the song more than RAI, but i put RAI in front of nick, because RAI has the extended intro.
winx club s4 RAI —
• “everyday ready to play!” third time with the word play in the intro. honestly the sequence reminded me of an anime opening (actually the early winx seasons especially). i really liked the sequence and i think it’s cute! i do prefer s1-3 RAI intro though..
for the rest of the intros (winx club s3 RAI & s2-3 4kids, i prefer RAI, because of the sequence. they both used a lot scenes from s1).
winx club s1 4kids —
• “close your eyes, and open your heart” & the sparkle? effect in the beginning + daphne + sky and his hair !?
• the only thing i don’t really like is the “just don’t touch the hair!” but it’s really minor
winx club s1/2 RAI —
• for s1, the flip sequence? it’s so cute, stella & flora linking arms + musa giving bloom a piggyback !?! i love them. the last 30 seconds of the intro is so good.
what i noticed is that in the 4kids opening it focuses on their transformation, vs. RAI which focuses on the winx’s friendship, the specialists, the trix. i can’t pick, so i love both of them equally.
#i kept it pretty brief#i wanted to be a bit more detailed but i couldn’t describe it well#winx club#mu5a

Ranking All 18 Bloom’s Fairy Forms Pt.1
18. Mythix
What else can I say? It’s HIDEOUS! not only is it just plain out boring but when you have it in that horrible 3D animation, it’s nearly impossible to look at the design without squinting. Also, she is wearing WAY to much makeup, to the point where at some points she just looks creepy. And just to add the hideous cherry on top, the awful 3D makes her hair look like she just got out of the shower!
17. Crystal Sirenix
This outfit really does show my problems with this transformation. It doesn’t look like ANYONE would be warm in that. Just because you throw fur in random places doesn’t mean it’s winter proof! Plus the scaled leggings REALLY don’t match the rest of this goodwill version of Harmonix, they seem like a last ditched effort to remind you this transformation is under water themed. One last things...Snow flakes over her boobs...
16. Lovix
Pretty much the same thing I said about Crystal Sirenix, only this one shows more skin but it is cuter and has a bit more personality to it.
15. Sirenix, Season 8
This outfit I actually think would look REALLY good on Bloom if she still looked like...Ya know, BLOOM! and not this bootleg winx club doll! My biggest problem with this outfit though is that it’s a pretty generic looking, and the fact that the outfit looks too similar to the rest of the girls Season 8 Sirenix, so it doesn’t stand out as much.
14. Charmix
Yes, I am adding this BARLEY transformation because the tile does say EVERY! Any who, the brooch itself is kinda bland but creative in a way by already using her brooch in her Magic Winx as part of it, the purse however really doesn’t match the outfit! the pink seems very forced in, if it was a pale yellow or some thing I think it would work MUCH better.
13. Believex
This outfit isn’t AS BAD as mythix and Crystal Sirenix, but it still is probably the worse of the believex designs. It’s a shame cause I feel the outfit could have worked, but the crop top seems REALLY awkwardly placed and the socks and heels...yeah your just asking for a bad design at that point. If they didn’t make the top cropped and had somethings like panty hose instead of socks, I feel the like this would be a cute outfit that actually doesn’t look to bad with the pink instead of her iconic yellow.
12. Cosmix
There’s nothing that bad about this outfit...This what I feel like her Believex should’ve been, but less generic looking.
11. Sirenix, Season 5
This outfit has it’s pros and cons... But the cons do out weight the pros. I do like how much darker her hair gets and the purple highlights are cute too, I also just prefer seeing Bloom in blue and purple than blue and pink. My problems with this design those is the outfit itself. I’ve been a fan of the ruffle skirts the winx wear in sirenix and the outfit itself is kinda all over the place.
10. Butterflix
This outfit isn’t that bad actually, it’s just not that interesting. If it was a stand alone outfit while the rest of the Winx got their own unique designs I would like it ALOT MORE, but since it’s not, it does fall under the boring category.
9. Enchantix, Season 3
Compared to all the other Enchantix outfits.. Bloom’s is probably the least interesting in my opinion. It’s not bad, but compared to Flora’s and Aisha’s enchantix, Bloom’s outfit is nothing but blue on top of blue. Though I will admit...The hair is LIT!

Shows I’m Procrastinating Watching because I Know They Will Absolutely Wreck Me
2 September 2022
Since the last post was decently serious and actually educational, I have decided to focus this post on the nerdy side of my name. These are shows that I have been procrastinating finishing either because of the discourse surrounding them or because I found out some spoilers that I truly am not ready for. While there are a lot of shows that I could talk about for this topic, I will mainly focus on the show that has basically had me in a chokehold ever since I found out about the show's ships. But, we’ll get to that part when we get there.
3. Fairy Tale
Just starting this anime is a commitment in and of itself with the show being over 500 episodes long. I have started watching the show, but I am completely terrified to try finishing it. I managed to find myself on a side of the internet that talks a lot about some plot points that happen later on in the series. While I have not seen a lot of the show or really understand the references, I know that as soon as I actually watch up to those plot points, I will be absolutely torn apart by it. I hav fallen in love with a lot of the character through what I have heard about the show and I am just not ready for the emotional toll I know that these plot points will cause me. Instead of watching the entire show, I have chosen to watch basically any other anime that I can get my hands on through Crunchyroll and other sites/apps.
2. Fate: A Winx Saga (and Winx Club Season 8)
As someone who grew up with Winx Club, and then binge-watched it in middle school, I absolutely cannot handle how much the shows changed from the original 4 seasons that went with the actual creator’s story idea. I fell in love with the characters throughout the first 4 seasons, but once the show figured out the 3D/CGI animation for half the season, the show felt like it was just going downhill.
With the completely different art style of season 8 on Nickelodeon and its new setup for girls who are probably, like, 8, I just can’t really get into that new season. The show seems to lack the maturity that it once was gaining and actually achieved in the 4th season. This may just be a little bit of prejudice against the new look, but I just can’t handle it.
It is kind of a different story when it comes to Fate: A Winx Saga. With Fate, the creators of this version of the Winx replaced and even completely erased, some of the main characters of the original Winx show. They made a show that actually grew with its audience and forced it to go immediately into the kind of show that Riverdale is (I’m not saying there is anything wrong with Riverdale, just that Riverdale is completely different from the more daily-life fantasy adventure show that Winx was). A lot of discourse that was going on around the show when it originally aired was that it was just a normal teen drama that was using the popularity and notoriety of the Winx name to gain views. Some of my friends who have watched the show have said that it is good when you stop thinking about it as something that is connected to Winx and start thinking of it as its own separate entity. I can’t do that because I will constantly be analyzing the show and comparing it to the original show that I know and love. I just feel that they should have just created the new show without having the need to trick fans of Winx into watching a show that is majorly different from the show these fans are actually fans of.
1. RWBY
This is the show that made me actually want to write this post. When I first heard about this show, it was still on Netflix. I started watching the first few episodes, but I only got a few minutes into the first episode before I decided that it wasn’t for me back then.
Well, years have passed and I found a compilation video on YouTube that introduced me to a very popular relationship on the show. As I watched the compilation multiple times, I fell in love with one of the characters and decided to try watching it to see if it was something that I could actually watch and stick with. Well, as the show continued, I got closer and closer to a really big scene in the 3rd season from the compilation and I just couldn’t handle the idea of watching the characters I loved continually get hurt and be in pain.
I stopped watching for a little bit so that I could regain the courage to finish the show. During this little break, I saw another compilation that has cemented in my heart that I literally would not be able to finish the show without absolutely sobbing my eyes dry. The compilation was about the relationship in the 8th season (yes, I know it’s weird to watch a compilation of an extremely later season of a show I didn't watch much of the first time and still planned to go back to). The scene I saw was a major character death where the “love interest” (it was kind of like a will they/won’t they love triangle type of situation) of my absolute favorite character. I already loved this character and she had been through a lot from the parts I had actually watched in the show itself and in the compilations, so seeing a character she grew extremely close to die would be too much for me to have watch her go through. Especially since I was actually also a fan of the “love interest.”
This show is on my “wait-as-long-as-possible to finish” list because I will only finish watching this show if I find a compilation that shows that the dead character actually comes back to life and the two can continue to live their lives together and happily in love.
Honorable mention to Young Justice for a very similar reason to RWBY. I am just not ready to watch the love interests of my absolute favorite characters die and then watch as my favorite characters struggle to live their lives without the ones that I believe are their absolute soulmates.
Reach out through the comments to talk more about shows that you are absolutely procrastinating watching for whatever reasons. I’d love to hear from you guys.

okay so i have finished all three winx movies and seasons 1-5 (i’ve started season 6).
Season one is Best Season. Holds up super well as a twenty-something rewatching a massive part of my childhood. It’s The Labyrinth tier of Good. Trix are best villains here. Icy spends the whole season flirting with Bloom. 10/10.
Season two is p good, I’m only side-eyeing it because I distinctly remember Darkar as a villain, and it turns out only because this is the season with Hot Bloom, and shes not even there for that long and also Darkar is just. so cringe. layla/aisha is fucking incredible though, 9/10.
season three is uh, Fine. I absolutely hate valtor. I grew up on the Labyrinth, and if Darkar made me cringe just bc he was like, campy??? Valtor made me cringe because he was a fucking try-hard, and I’m still laughing over it. Objectively more threatening villain; the creators just wanted to fuck him too much for him to be Good though. It’s just knock-off Gareth who appears w/his own little guitar riff. also also hate the trix being petty bitches and fighting each other for a dude who is so transparently manipulating them, they deserved to literally rip him limb from limb and go about stealing all the other planets’ magic on their own.
Season four was ass. First twenty episodes aren’t even worth existing. Great concepts, they just waste so much time on the winx and their respective partners cheating on each other and hammering in that you can’t possibly have a platonic relationship w/someone of the opposite sex once you’re in a relationship, and that’s Toxic AF. Roxy as a character was pretty good though?? I just hate that they didn’t give her anything unique. She’s a straight up copy of Bloom as far as her arcs go, down to her exact fucking backstory?? And that’s ass for her. She was pretty well fleshed out as a character, and Deserved Better, especially because the winx spend the whole season alternately lecturing and infantilizing her. They coulda done a lot of interesting shit this season, basically, and didn’t. OH. Tecna gets kudos bc in ep 1 she’s ready to full on straight up murder a small child for hurting flora on accident and I approve of Tecna going apeshit in any situation, so, they did good there.
Season five was very meh. very forgettable. It exists solely to establish Icy is a monsterfucker lmfao. also, layla/aisha can’t catch a fucking break, did the winx just not tell anyone she went straight to murder when Nabu died, bc why the hell else would Trittanus (sp?) have straight up promised to murder her entire family and then been shocked when she immediately tried to stab him. I think it’s fucking hilarious that S4 went through so much trouble to avoid giving the girls violent spells (idk if y’all picked up on that - layla/aisha is the only one who got violent spells) only for this season to just give them a whole arsenal of “X punch/kick/stab/etc” spells lol. also also also trittanus himself, what the fuck, literally every single one of his family members, subjects, and People Who Know Him do nothing but talk shit about him and you’re *surprised* he tried to kill y’all??? 3d animation was ass, the selkies were horrifying to look at, also Trittanus seemed to straight up absorb pollution on earth so what the fuck was the problem??? like he created more to beget more pollutants/toxins in ONE episode, but the rest of it, he straight up just took them and left?? so like. no. let him go to town. and then deal w/him later. also the winx turning an oil rig into an oil right that’s run on solar/wind power had me fucking cackling like. oh my fucking god. most capitalist Thing ever i stg lmfao.
AND. The movies. Were. Uh. Third one was dumb af. But the first two were pretty decent. I actually hate the concept of bringing Sparks/Domino back with all its people and royalty just. fine and alive and all? probably why i like the second one better lol. i like the “Eraklyon was supposed to protect Sparks/Domino and betrayed them” thing, that’s p cool. Also Bloom and Daphne having a consistent and v close sibling bond is adorable, even if they didn’t actually work for it in the show, i can buy it Just Being Like That.
So far I don’t really have any thoughts about S6 except uh, they def straight up retconned daphne also being a fairy of the dragon flame, right? right. i don’t like how they’ve so drastically weakened her just so the winx can be the ~heroes~ of the series or whatnot.
idk i have more to say but i have shit i’m supposed to be doing

Season 4 Episode 13: The Wizards' Attack
[I'd like to take this oppurtunity to apologise for returning and then IMMEDIATELY dipping again lmao. I don't even have a reason this time I was just Tired and distracted by the Side Project that is still unready to be seen by the interwebs. Anywayyyy]
I'm fucking screaming there's a TYPO IN THE TITLE THAT WAS AIRED WITH THIS EPISODE. LIKE. IN THE TITLE CARD THINGY. Idk why I find this so funny but I ABSOLUTELY do. The Wizards' Attak. The important thing is, they got the apostrophe in the right place
Oh my god it's been so long I fully FORGOT THEY MAYBE KILLED THE DOG. BITCH YOU CAN'T KILL THE ANIMALS THAT'S MY ONE RULE
Sky just fkin growled bitch wtf
Rip Timmy
Really don't know how the specialists thought this fight was going to go. Like. The winx are so much more powerful than you and the wizards keep beating them so. In what world would this have worked
Ugh. "zoomix"
I'm actually so sick of Roxy now like. You were always a fairy. The winx didn't make you a fairy. They also didn't kill ya dog. That was the wizards, who were coming after you anyway. Please stop pulling the "I love magic! I hate magic! I love magic! I hate magic!" Every other episode it's getting real old real fast
"A fairy always lives for others, she never lives for herself" bro that's such a toxic mindset. I mean, we already knew Bloom needed therapy but damn
Forgot about Helia's mullet. Bro why
Anagan has such vibes. Just chillin in a tree. Icon
"You're the one who needs help, fairy!" Bro you are legit hanging upside down she's clearly winning
Oop Helia spoke to soon. You did your best, my son
Oh god edgy Timmy shot reveals his insecurity is being called a coward. Bro chill
Rip Timmy for the second time today
Oop Techna saved her bf it's okay lads
She's dead now nvm
Stella wrecked this man
Oop fake!Brandon battle
Riven really gave up on Brandon immediately lmao
Top!Brandon is making her cry
WAYO real Brandon was winning the Brandon Battle anyway what an icon
Riven you moron
Why the fuck was this man cracking his WRISTS
Meanwhile, on a train for some reason, Sky, Nabu and Aisha are not having a good time
The poorly integrated 3D is such a choice for them to make. I wish they hadn't
STOP THROWING MAGIC AT THIS MAN IT LITERALLY HASN'T WORKED ONCE IN THIRTEEN EPISODES
Oh yeah. Leave it to the child. Let the magic lady have control again
Oh shit Bloom's dead now. Yikes
"She fainted" lmao just in case we thought that was an actual on-screen death
Sir. Sir I appriciate that you're trying to be a good dad but you just watched him beat Bloom. Very easily. She has magic and you're just Some Guy how was this ever going to work
Roxy's sleeves are just SUCH a choice
Love that Stella had a whole crisis about fake!Brandon meanwhile Musa hears one sentence from fake!Riven and immediately calls bullshit. She fully yeeted him into the wall like what an icon
SHADE but like. She's not wrong
OOP RANDO VISION LADY
Feel like you could have come to help at ANY time but alright
The real villainy was in the property damage we caused along the way
This women is immediately on board with fairies. Fair enough
"I believe it! Fairies are among us!" *among us imposter sound effect plays*
Did I completely forget about the pixies and the tree of life? Yes absolutely, no memories have been stored
Stella would NEVER photobomb her friends with a pig face. It should have been a peace sign. She has the energy and no, I don't take constructive critisim

Winx Club Season 5 Thoughts Part 2
Part 1 is here.
5x14:
- I thought there was a musical performance coming up but nope. I can do with cleaning up a beach instead. I like it. And they’re sorting the trash as they pick it up? That’s actually super thoughtful. They have their moments.
- Icy and Tritannus are disgusting. And not because they’re cute and I hate cute like Stormy does. It’s because they’re cringy.
- So is Tritannus just gonna have Daphne floating around after him until the end of the season?
- Sooooo... there’s a throne that can give you ultimate power over the whole dimension and it’s just chilling there in the middle of the Infinite Ocean? That seems incredibly illogical and stupid to me. Who has access to the Infinite Ocean again? I know Sirenix got cursed but that was about 20 years ago. What was going on before that? Surely, Daphne couldn’t have been the only Sirenix fairy. And what if one of the fairies with Sirenix decided to just sit on the throne and take the power? This is just... an incredibly stupid and undeveloped concept even by Winx’ standards.
- Again, I have no idea why Daphne warned him at all. Just let the curse make everyone’s jobs easier and get rid of him. (I thought only the Trix had Sirenix, though, because he doesn’t look different after he got it and him being drained by the throne seems to support the idea that his powers are all coming from the pollution he consumes.) Also, how very convenient for him that there is a singular cell right there next to the Emperor’s Throne. ‘Cause any part of this makes any sense.
- Okay, they just vanished matter again. And yeah, we’ve established there is no logic to that but maybe it would have been a better idea to have all that trash recycled? So that it could have been used again? That would have been more eco friendly as it saves resources.
- Aww, poor Stella! Yes, the dress of carrots was definitely too impractical to be worn on a daily basis and also a potential hazard if it draws animals to you but I still feel bad for her. At least she was trying to do something good. And if she adapts her strategy a little and uses some magic she could really succeed in her mission and make clothing more ecological. I have a feeling that they are only writing her making horrible designs on purpose to give the appearance of some arc for her character. We all know season 1-3 Stella would have done so much better with her designs.
- Okay, Brandon did not handle that talk at all but I appreciate the fact that he was honest at the very least instead of just saying what Stella wants to hear from him. It was certainly hard for both of them but that is how relationships should be - honest.
- Yes, they just rationalized that all the garbage might draw in Tritannus but the moment they see a purple tornado it doesn’t click that that is Stormy. Because purple tornadoes are totally natural on Earth.
- The Trix look even worse in the 2D style while Winx look somewhat better than they do in 3D.
- Seriously, tell me how Winx are gonna defeat that tornado. Stormy could probably tear apart the whole planet with the power she’s packing here. And Tritannus, Icy and Darcy haven’t even lifted a finger yet.
- Yeah, it took all six of Winx to handle only Stormy’s powers so the evil group will just leave. It’s not like they appear stronger and probably have chances to win this.
- Love how everyone’s observation skills are going through a meltdown.
- Tritannus is ruthless and I have to say that I love that. I’m sick of the villains just leaving Winx alone without doing all the damage they possibly could just because the plot needs it to be so. Even here he could have made the mutants attack them and he didn’t but at least he used them as leverage so it’s better.
- Layla’s reaction was a little over the top in the Infinite Ocean but I am glad that they are showing her to be so upset about her relatives even though it’s extended family. We don’t see enough familial relationships on Winx.
- Please, tell me Tritannus will get the power of the Throne. Otherwise, they shoved all the nonsense surrounding it in here for nothing. And that will be a bigger challenge for Winx.
5x15:
- Love how in season 3 every Winx girl had a different swimming technique but now they are all swimming in the same way.
- Where is this problem coming out of all of a sudden? Stella had no issue firing at Tritannus in the previous episode. They’re just doing it to manufacture drama because otherwise, she would have the power to save her father from the beginning of the episode and they wouldn’t have an episode.
- They gave Layla a sword. Good. Best decision they’ve made all season.
- Love that Darcy and Stormy are thinking about what their role is here.
- Who thought the selkies could protect anything? They can’t even protect themselves.
- I love that they showed a couple of worlds but we only really saw the effect of the eclipse on Andros and Solaria.
- Radius has never been that much of an asshole (not that we’ve seen that much of him). He seems totally out of character here and I hate to admit that there is some logic to him being ruled by pride since he is legit standing in for the sun. I love the fact that both Stella and Luna were super worried about him, though, and instantly came to help.
- Omg, their hair changing colors is so not necessary or relevant rn. Wish they would just leave it alone.
- Layla roasting Tritannus that he’s letting Icy do all his fighting was absolute peak! I’m here for it!
- Okay, so there was literally no reason why Stella’s light didn’t work at the beginning of the episode but did at the end and it only made her seem more self-centered if anything because she only really put her will into fighting once she was directly affected. Not @ the way this season is not pulling off the emotional arcs at all.
- Wow, okay. Icy sacrificing herself for Tritannus was just... unexpected. Winx weren’t prepared either. I am glad that at least he had the decency to be mad that she’s hurt and appreciate what she did for him.
- Aww, Luna is absolutely precious and I love her already!
- Couldn’t have Bloom used her fire to the same effect that Stella used her light? And Layla could have totally used her morphix to cover them and make sure they won’t be hit. They didn’t just have to stand there and be useless.
5x16:
- Why did I hear Layla say pillow instead of pillar? I think I might need to go to bed (it’s like 5am).
- Nature kick? Nature KICK???????? They gave Flora an attack that’s inherently violent? What the hell were they thinking? That has never been her style so why start now?
- “I’d do anything for you, Tritannus.” Yes, including abandoning your sisters. Nice one, Icy!
- I knew it that the two mutants Layla freed would be Nereus and Tressa. No way can we have any adults here.
- It’s interesting that convergence didn’t work. There’s an intriguing implication in that somewhere but it’s too late to unpack it now.... Okay, now that I am awake (and have watched the rest of the episodes), let’s see what I get out of this. The Pillar needed light which is something tangible and physical unlike the other two Pillars so the convergence didn’t work because Stella is the only one whose powers are about light. I like the implication here and they could have done something interesting with it, not to mention implement some rules when it comes to convergence at the very least.
- Stella just singlehandedly powered all the suns in the Magic Dimension. That is the most powerful thing we have seen anyone do on this show. I love her so much!
- Aww, I feel so bad for Stella! I am crying over here. And seriously, why is Radius being so prickly here? He wasn’t like that in season 3. Stella was even ready to let them ignore her if it would mean that they could also ignore the budding argument. This is hurting her so much and it’s hurting me as well!
- Aww, Kiko really wanted to cheer Stella up so badly! He’s adorable.
- Was Erendor the one suggesting that they unite their powers? Wow, I am just shocked. Also, kinda amused that Faragonda managed to make them all shut up even though they are all more “important” than she is.
- So why is Diaspro on Eraklyon? She was supposed to be banished. But no, we need more stupid drama. I see that Erendor at least is back to his prickliness. And yes, I totally have to agree with Samara that he just made an awful mistake. Giving Diaspro the authority to speak in his name is a rash and reckless decision in general. After she mind controlled Sky? Absolute madness,
- Wizgiz looks so weird without his hat.
- What is so hard to figure out about the “fight fire with fire” expression? But they did a pretty good job regardless.
- Of course, there is Diaspro drama even when she and Sky don’t have any kind of personal relations anymore. But still, I don’t think Bloom should be so affected by it because she was told it was for his royal duties. (and since the meeting is held on Domino, she could totally be there as well) It is frustrating but it’s still better than what has happened with Diaspro before.
5x17:
- Omg, Daphne is pushing herself to her limits in the name of saving everyone. Meanwhile, what does she get in return? Tortured by both Stormy and Tritannus, vaguely ignored by her sister and the show won’t even let her parents show concern for her (not that they can save her now that she is in the Infinite Ocean but they could have tried in 5x13).
- Why is Kiko sleeping so far off the ground? That is dangerous. He could roll off the pillow in his sleep and fall... Or Bloom could send him flying through the room when she tosses in her sleep. Poor bunny.
- Eye of Inspiration? Wow, okay.
- Weren’t there four pillars? Why only three seals? And Pillar of Control and Pillar of Balance? What the hell? Light is at least tangible. But control and balance? What the hell?
- I can’t believe that Icy would turn on Darcy and Stormy because of a guy. This is so stupid and I hate it.
- When are the selkies going to learn that they are useless and the best idea would be to hide and go look for someone who actually stands a chance against Tritannus?
- The moon thing was some serious level of bullshit. Like, I get that it looks all fairytale-y and magic-y and shit but when you look at it from a logical point of view, it’s just a fucking mess. You’re telling me that just looking down at the well releases some magic? What the hell? Even if you take their Sirenix into account, this is still weird. (The room made of water was cool, though). Oh, and a map of the Infinite Ocean. How convenient. Because Alfea has all the answers.
- Wow, Mike and Vanessa are actually gonna clean that whole trash island up? I am in awe of their determination.
- Okay, so where the hell are the fairies of Earth? It would make sense for them to take action against Tritannus. He is hurting the planet directly and is also a major threat that needs to be dealt with. They should have been involved now that their kingdom was reinstated.
- Well, Stella is still feisty even when she’s sleep deprived. Also, I see they have no problem using their Sirenix powers now. I am so sick of them using convergence, though. Wish they’d do something more creative.
- I honestly wish Tritannus will get rid of the selkies permanently because they are that annoying.
- Seriously? Tritannus knows that they can follow him in the Infinite Ocean but he just... thought they wouldn’t find him? He should know better by now. And Layla was weird too because they know where he will be going. They can find him. Also, another convergence? Come. On!
5x18:
- What took Tritannus so long to show up? He was right there with the Trix. I do like the critique on Icy’s long hair that this was. Like, girl is aesthetic as hell but long hair could def be very dangerous.
- I am actually on Icy and Tritannus’ side here because the selkies are boring me to tears.
- Here’s an idea for you - instead of Daphne sacrificing every last bit of strength and vitality she has, maybe the Winx could figure something out on their own for a change.
- Ugh, the ugly dresses again. Classic, my ass. Ungodly hideous suits it better.
- Really not @ the way Marion’s throne is smaller than Oritel’s. Like, Erendor and Samara’s thrones were the same size but you’re telling me that Marion and Oritel’s are different implying that he has more power? Yeah, no. Fuck that idea. I like the third throne, though. What a shame Daphne isn’t there to fill her rightful place.
- I am so sick of the Diaspro drama that they are shoving in this even now.
- Oh, look! Roy is also there. How else are we gonna know that he is a Big DealTM? You know? Obviously someone that Layla should date.
- See, Marion is even the one leading this whole assembly. Though, my guess is that that would be because the union is her idea and Oritel agreed (probably a little begrudgingly). Of course, everyone else has to be a royal and prideful idiot about this. (I guess it was Theredor in 5x16 that suggested that they unite and not Erendor which would definitely make more sense). But yes, Winx are facing the consequences of what happens when everyone has a vote and you need consensus. Nothing gets fucking done. For once it actually looks plausible that Winx are more effective than any of the adults because they make up their minds quickly. Usually to a common stupid idea but they are certainly doing better than all the royals at this assembly.
- If the dragon is totally untamed, how is Codatorta riding it? This does not make sense to me. And I thought they would be learning strategy.
- Not @ the way Radius was being condescending to Stella. But I like the fact that she got through to him. She is gonna be a precious queen!
- I have to side with Diaspro because Bloom and Sky literally thought it to be a good idea to just leave the assembly and go deal with their teenage romance bullshit. Fucking responsible adults you are. Oh, yeah, sure. When she’s actually needed, she can’t leave all of a sudden and she’ll let the others do everything.
- Well, Winx are recklessly courageous, I will give them that. I hate how instantly they need their lessons, though. They learn something and it comes in handy the same day. What if something had happened, and they hadn’t had the lesson? They would be toast. Honestly, the levels of convenience because they don’t trust the audience to remember what happened in the episodes before that is just insane. It would have been better to have a couple of episodes between learning a skill and having to use it.
- Oh, wow! They noticed the pollution? I can’t believe it! Finally! This episode is actually treating me better. If they’d let the selkies become snacks and let Bloom take some responsibility, it would have been good. Now it isn’t half bad.
- This makes zero sense because Erendor and Oritel aka Eraklyon and Domino did have an alliance against the Ancestral Witches. And considering Erendor feeling guilty for betraying that alliance, it would make sense for him to join this one to fix his mistake back then or at least not repeat it. Only possible explanation for his behavior that I can think of is that Eraklyon is actually in a crisis and their defenses are in pretty bad shape so he doesn’t want the others to know that. But that still leaves them defenseless against a potential attack. This is stupid. I mean, his pride is obviously an explanation in and of itself but it is also the definition of stupid.
5x19:
- Why is Erendor so dense? If they defend the Pillars, Tritannus will be easier to beat without the power he will get if he destroys the Pillars. It is a simple deduction.
- Aww! This scene with Riven and Musa is so adorable! He was actually enjoying the music so much and Musa opened up about her mother. That was actually precious.
- Wow, they really tried hard to tie the balance thing to the sea and to music.
- Oh, man! Please, tell me Riven didn’t just run away like that because he got uncomfortable with emotions... Oh, wait! I get it now. He is planning a surprise for her and needs the help of this other girl, I believe it is the same one whose guitar playing skills he was admiring when Musa got all jealous for no fucking reason whatsoever. And they are making stupid drama again.
- Oh, come on! I have to stand Bloom and Sky stupid drama as well on top of the other one?!?!?! I hate this. Also, when will Bloom understand that she can’t be the center of Sky’s universe. She may not care about her royal duties but he was at least raised with some sense of responsibility towards his title. And what does Bloom do? Use her title to rub Diaspro’s nose in her victory on the Sky matter and then she just starts weeping over Sky wanting to talk to his father instead of dealing with the more important shit!
- You’d think that those Pillars would be better protected considering how fucking important they are. Also, aren’t the writers tired of making innocent mermaids on Andros suffer?
- They’re actually making a plan? And it’s a decent one? I can’t believe it!
- At least Tritannus goes back for Icy every time. Not that that’s gonna last but if she’s gonna ditch Darcy and Stormy, it’d better be worth it at least a little.
- Loved Bloom’s magical punch but the slow mo of Layla’s kick really does it a big disservice.
- Why did he throw his trident? That was idiotic. Layla going up in his face so that he could grab it back was also idiotic as hell so I guess they are equally stupid to balance each other out. Could have just blasted him with the trident and get it over with but noooooo. They have to make dumb choices.
- O. M. G! Darcy and Stormy got the whales? That was... so fucking AWESOME!!!! I was worried that them disappearing would actually fuck them over because Tritannus would get mad at them but they actually come back with the whales? Epic. Also, this makes me think that they are at least partially responsible for the chaos going on because Musa said it is the whales that keep the balance and Darcy just hypnotized them. I am so proud of my girl! *happy sob* Her powers really are just so badass in this season.
5x20:
- Seriously? This episode is titled “The Problems of Love” because of all the Sky and Bloom bullshit that will be in it (possibly Riven and Musa and even Tritannus and Icy as well)? Because THAT is the most important thing going on now.
- Okay, so Icy isn’t impressed by what Stormy and Darcy did for her? Girl, you need to wake the fuck up. I do love the energy of Darcy and Stormy just being evil sisters together and fucking shit up, though.
- So why did the rest of Winx not go to the Pillar while Musa was dealing with the whales? Also, didn’t they try the convergence on the Pillar of Light? It didn’t work. Why do they think it will work now? Oh, it actually did. Of course. Because balance. THE SYMBOLISM IS STRONG.
- Really not a fan of the way they have chopped the episodes in favor of suspense instead of in favor of every episode having a completed mini arc.
- Okay, so Musa is mature enough to know that bringing her mother back from the dead will mess with the natural flow of things but she can’t trust Riven just a tad bit more.
- So did Stella and Brandon make up? Last time we saw anything about them Stella said she hated them which she obviously didn’t mean but still. That was just left hanging there.
- Can they all leave Tecna alone? She and Timmy are happy with the way things are. If it works for them, then that’s the only thing that matters. And Musa projecting her relationship drama onto Tecna was just the worst. Glad at least Tecna trusts Timmy implicitly.
- Okay, so did Diaspro think this through? Of course, she didn’t. Once Sky learns what she’s done, she will probably get in trouble. I say probably because Erendor is kinda on her side here so it’s not all that certain. But in any case, she will make Sky resent her more. So still not a good idea.
- Bloom doesn’t have patience to wait for a minute. She knows Sky is busy and has a lot of things to do. She could just calm down a little and not expect him to respond to her every summons.
- Oh, my god! She really thinks that she is more important than a royal meeting. You are fucking yourself over and I wouldn’t give a damn if your stupid relationship drama wasn’t 50% of this godforsaken show.
- Sky should turn his phone off and Bloom should just get some fucking perspective. I know she’s used to being the center of the world but she needs to get her priorities straight as well. She should be looking for Daphne instead of being a fucking idiot over there. They know about the Emperor’s Throne. And if they have a map of the Infinite Ocean, they should know where it is. Just go there and confront Tritannus instead of waiting for him to keep stealing seals! How hard can it be? But of course, you need to have your head in the game, not in your bullshit relationship.
- My god, even ethereal beings like the guardians of Sirenix were dragged into this shit. At least that gave effect. And Bloom admitted she is the problem. I can’t believe it! Actual character development. Of course, I don’t expect it to stick until the next episode so it won’t matter but still.
- Umm... the wind should be carrying the pollen away from the flowers. It can’t carry pollen to them if the pollen comes from them. The wind can only carry it away. That is basically the idea of pollen. To get carried away.
- Omg, I am so tired of Stella’s interest in fashion fucking everything up. They’re making her incompetent and ignorant of everything else on purpose. Also, why can’t they fly? That was just out of nowhere.
5x21:
- They each have a special Sirenix spell? Was that concept introduced before or did it just show up now? I don’t think they’d said anything about that, though it would have been nice in the episode where Stella was having issues but later found the way to fix the Pillar of Light.
- I just wish they would leave Tecna and Timmy alone. Besides, they don’t have to go on a “real” and “romantic” date in order to be face to face. They can just chill on the couch and talk about what THEY want.
- Did Helia just tell Timmy to “man up”? You know what would be “manning up”? Getting over your egoistical impulses to meddle in everyone’s lives because you think you know best. At least Riven is being honest.
- What happened to just being yourself? Tecna and Timmy are already into each other for who they are. They don’t need all of this not so good dating advice.
- Wow, Daphne is going for desperate measures here but she is making sense at the very least.
- I am getting second hand embarrassment over Tecna and Timmy’s date. Poor guys. They just need to be themselves.
- Well, they succeeded with the destruction of the seal. I would love to see Tritannus’ reaction as well.
- Aww, at least Tecna and Timmy got to have a good end to their disastrous date.
5x22:
- I am so sick of Tritannus and Icy always repeating that they’ll be the emperor and empress once the Throne is complete. We get it, okay? No need to say it over and over again. I have a feeling they’re only doing that because they don’t actually have anything else to talk about.
- Omg, I thought this shit with Crystal and Helia was over. How much longer? Why is this even happening? I am so exasperated rn. At least Crystal is not like Diaspro. Even though the show tried to strongly suggest the similarity between them.
- Can they stop jumping to conclusions? Like, Flora legit saw Helia interact with Crystal for three seconds and it wasn’t him that threw himself at her. Flora is always trying to be polite so she should think that it’s possible that Helia is doing the same. Also, love how her insecurity stems from doubts in herself but that will never be resolved ever because no one gets proper arcs anymore.
- How is the king’s decision rational? It’s bullshit.
- Why the hell would droids function better in cold weather. How does that make sense?
- It would have been more interesting if Tritannus had destroyed the whole Pillar and they had to rebuild it from scratch. That might have needed more than convergence to fix and would have been a better challenge.
- Really? They have to fight the droids? That is the most predictable, most boring scenario that they could have come up with. Also, why isn’t there secondary defense against the droids? Like, just in case. No technology is infallible.
- I am confused. Is Tecna the princess of Zenith or not? Why does the king know her specifically if she’s not? Is it because she’s the guardian fairy of the planet? That could have been so much more interesting to see than any of this. A political discussion between him and the fairy that guards the whole planet. More worldbuilding.
- At least he changed his mind. I was hoping that would be the result of the mess with the droids.
- Aww, Tecna wished for Zenithians to feel empathy and connection! That is so precious. She has grown so much. Actually, this season hasn’t treated Tecna half bad. There were some golden opportunities that were missed but I actually like most of what they did do.
- Seriously? Sky sent a request for Bloom and she was still bitching about it? Honestly, that invitation for a diplomatic meeting could have been a cute thing where they get to both solve the issue with Eraklyon not wanting to join the alliance and their relationship drama. But no.
- I love Darcy and Stormy as a dynamic duo even if it pains me that Icy is treating them like that. But there is always place for her once she gets her mind back because she’s currently lost it.
5x23:
- I thought Politea was gonna be the plot of the third movie. But they’re bringing her in now? I am not sure I like this.
- Tritannus getting beaten down is a sight for sore eyes.
- Okay, I love this cute Bloom and Stella moment. Even if I am still not a fan of how they are giving Stella trouble with her designs because we all know that she is super good at what she does.
- Orrrrr... they could just use their Believix transformations and the Tracix wings to see the past. Though, those did seem to work only for the current location you’re at. And no past transformation is ever brought back.
- Why does Politea look like a brunette Bloom? Can they stop trying to make more of her? One is more than enough. Also, if Politea is a nymph as well, why does she look so plain compared to Daphne? We get it that Bloom and her whole family (and her whole planet) are all oh so special but this is ridiculous.
- Why the fuck did Politea refuse to help? If the Witches stole the power of the Infinite Ocean, she couldn’t get it for herself. Also, this is a blatant contradiction to everything we’ve been shown in the previous seasons. The witches grabbed Daphne and cursed her right after she opened the portal that sent Bloom to Earth, not in some battle for the Infinite Ocean.
- Didn’t Daphne say that Politea’s Sirenix turned evil because she turned evil? What the hell? And why would she turn into a monster when Daphne lost her body?????? I hate this.
- Oh, so Bloom’s going it alone now? Nice way to say she doesn’t think her friends can handle it because they aren’t as powerful as her. Wasn’t it exactly the fact that Politea refused to help Daphne that allegedly fucked them both over? Bloom should know better.
- Really? Icy didn’t dodge that? There’s a shitton of space in that underwater cave. She could have escaped in any direction. But no, she has to be dumb and get kicked. Lemme guess, Bloom went alone so that it could be a one on one against Icy and the writers could pretend there was any tension because that obviously wouldn’t have been the case if the rest of Winx were also there.
- So Politea just disappeared because that makes sense. Not like she’s a separate human being that was not formed by her Sirenix powers. And Darcy and Stormy are completely fine even though they absorbed an allegedly cursed Sirenix. And no one bothered finishing off Bloom just to make sure she would actually get finished off. How very convenient.
- Both Radius and Luna were at the assembly at Domino. Now they’re acting like 3-year-olds. I hate this so much. I can see why Stella is so done with their fighting. But I am so proud of her for talking to them and actually telling them how their behavior makes her feel. That was pretty mature of her. If only they could take her example and do the same and actually talk instead of just snapping at each other.
- Oh, and the teachers are at the fashion show as well? That’s cool.
- It’s actually cool that Stella didn’t wish her parents to get back together. She could have but that wouldn’t have been right since they don’t want that. Her wish is still a little questionable because their understanding of each other is not entirely their doing but, on the other hand, she wished that they would just listen to each other. Not necessarily agree. So I think it is actually okay.
- Awwww! It’s so cute from the rest of Winx to model Stella’s clothes!
- Lmaooo, Wizgiz is killing me in this episode. It’s cute how excited he is, though.
- I am so proud of Stella for what she said to (and about) Brandon. Now THAT was really mature of her. I loved it!
- Omg, Riven wrote a whole song for Musa! I knew that he would have a really cool surprise for her. Honestly, she doesn’t appreciate him as much as she should (when he’s not a jerk and he hasn’t been this season).
- But why is Roy with the Specialists? He’s not a part of their team. Please, stop acting like he has any place in this friend group. He’s an outsider and he’s never made any meaningful connections with any of them.
5x24:
- Awwwwwwwwwwwwwww! Dolphins are so precious!
- So Erendor did join the alliance at last? Not that they can agree on much still but at least they took the first step. Not @ the way the show keeps implying that Earth is the only planet that has pollution. And why did Flora decide to be dramatic before speaking?
- Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo! The dolphins! Someone needs to stop him! He’s gonna destroy the precious dolphins!
- They actually made a joint decision? And Erendor fired Diaspro? Wow. WOW! I stan this episode. I just hope it won’t disappoint by the end. Oh, and here’s a prediction - Flora will earn her Sirenix wish this ep. Or Layla. But I think it will be Flora. (Bloom’s obv gonna be last.)
- Uggggh... Did a giant praying mantis just appear behind Stella and Layla? Why? Please no. (But that only makes me lean more in favor of Flora being the one to earn her wish this ep.)
- Oh, there’s more of them. I feel like all the “kick” spells of Sirenix were made specifically for the purpose of this episode.
- These shields couldn’t be any smaller. Sirenix spells are kinda lame, not gonna lie. Harmonix was much better in that regard (and more aesthetic even if impractical).
- Oh, yes. Don’t hurt the enormous bugs. The spell that is supposed to restore damaged environments will erase them out of existence instead. How is that better and why is Flora okay with it if she didn’t want the animals hurt?
- Is there anyone else in that task force besides the Specialists and the droids? You’re telling me that those are the only resources that the Magic Dimension can spare on the fight with what is currently the biggest threat to their existence? This is ridiculous.
- Luna can control the second sun of Solaria? I love that. I love her!
- So... Roy wasn’t even in danger. That’s so lame. I could have been on board with Layla saving him. And it would have been a nice parallel to their first meeting. Also, we have never seen them interact in order to care about any potential feelings between them. This is not how you make a relationship.
- Of course, Flora wouldn’t wish anything that tells us something new about her character. At this point nature and caring about it is the only personality trait she has (oh, and her doubts about her relationship with Helia). We can’t have anything else about her. Here’s something she could have wished for - that her sister can only ever die of natural death which could a) bring up the fact that she has a sister again and b) imply that she is still not over the fact that Miele almost died on her watch.
5x25:
- Omg, where is this sudden uncertainty about Helia coming from? Even though Crystal is not trying to take him from her. I wish this had been better set up at the very least. It could have been a great arc but we can’t have that, of course.
- Alfea has to be at least three times as big to host all the facilities we’ve seen it have in this season alone. I mean, come on!
- So now the mirror is a magical shoe designer? At least Stella’s wish to be with her parents was cute. But you’re telling me that all Layla wants right now is to dance with Roy? I call bullshit on that. She had zero time to recover from losing Nabu and I am so mad over this new “romance” being shoved at her out of the blue.
- Flora and Helia aren’t even gonna talk about this? Because the magical mirror solved the problem by showing what’s in her heart? I should have known this was going to happen.
- And why did Icy offer Layla instead of any of the other Winx? Because Layla has to be the strongest considering the nature of her powers aka she will be the hardest to capture. Though, it makes sense that the strongest will be the best fit to activate the Throne.
- So how did Nereus and Tressa go into the Infinite Ocean? Tritannus couldn’t before he stole Daphne’s Sirenix powers. So how did they manage without Sirenix?
- Why is Stella the one asking how to get rid of the mutants without hurting them when she was the one who managed to do exactly that in a previous episode? But, of course, they have forgotten all about previous episodes. Continuity? Don’t know her.
- How is the Breath of the Ocean summoning all the selkies? It was supposed to restore damaged environments. Now it suddenly has more functions because, of course, it does. It would be too much to want of them to figure out something else.
- Yes, I can see how they aren’t hurting the mutants. Not like knocking them out and possibly giving them concussions is hurting them. How could you think that?
- Oh, so Flora also has a “nature punch”? Are you kidding me?
- I see. They gave them all “punches” to compliment the “kicks” they already had. How very creative.
- You’d think that a prince would have been taught basic battle strategy and wouldn’t just turn his back on the enemy. But... obvious plot device to make Layla blow up and defeat Tritannus is obvious.
- Wow, they had to threaten Layla with losing someone else she cares about so that she couldn’t bring Nabu back to life and they could keep going with their stupid new romantic interest bullshit.
- AND Tritannus stole her power? Can Layla catch a break here? Also, why aren’t the rest of Winx following Bloom to go help Layla as well?
5x26:
- Wait, wait, wait! Are you telling me that the selkies knew where the Throne was this whole time?!?!?!?! AND they didn’t lead Winx there even though it was obvious that was where Tritannus was? Because “we’re almost there” implies that Bloom’s selkie knows the way to the Throne. So why, pray tell, are they only going there now and didn’t use that to fight him before?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! You know, when he still didn’t have everything he needed to activate the Throne?
- Did Tritannus get possessed by the power or something? This change in attitude is completely weird and really pissing me off because they could have actually done something decent with Icy and Tritannus’ relationship and the way it ended but they did not put a single thought in it. Anyway, I am glad Icy is back to her senses.
- Well, Musa looked like she was aiming at Roy which I wouldn’t mind all that much if it hadn’t been the middle of an important battle for which they needed him. But her magic waves didn’t affect him even though he was directly in their way so whatever.
- Now the whole palace is submerged. RIP to all the servants in there that didn’t have a tower to hide in and the Winx to save them.
- I actually love the idea of Winx interacting with the parents of the other Winx. It’s cute.
- Okay, but why is destroying the trident gonna render him powerless? He literally grew in size when he received the power of the Throne which means that it has to be in his body so taking away the trident shouldn’t work. Smh.
- Man, what a lame way to get rid of all the villains and their minions. Very anti climatic. And they didn’t even need the rest of Winx there. So what was this bullshit that they needed Sirenix to defeat him when that barely played any part in his downfall? If anything, it was what let him get the power to activate the Throne. (We all know they could have fixed the pillars even with Harmonix.)
- The gate of Oblivion? Hey, why did no one toss Valtor in there? Or the Trix for that matter?
- So Bloom didn’t actually wish to get Daphne back but to remove the Sirenix curse? Not that there’s much difference since the curse only ever seemed to have worked on Daphne (and Politea that just vanished in thin air).
- I’ll take Daphne’s comment about Bloom being the best little sister in the whole universe as her being emotional over the fact that she was brought back to life. It took Bloom so long to figure out that there was something wrong with her and then even longer to save her. In fact, she didn’t even look as concerned with Daphne’s situation as she was with her own romantic drama so I am not buying that she is so good at being a little sister. Besides, we all know that Miele is the best little sister.
- Aww, I really love that shot of Bloom and her whole family group hugging. And I especially love the fact that Mike and Vanessa are also there!
Oh, I have to write some sort of conclusion now? I was pretty clear on my feelings about this season so I don’t think there’s much to say. Only a few final words to the season itself - I dub thee The Season of Missed Opportunities. Also, love how Musa didn’t even get to use her Sirenix wish. Guess she didn’t please fate enough... even though she was mature enough to know that wishing her dead mother back was not the way she should use her wish. I call bullshit on that (and yes, this is my closing statement).

Winx Club Rewatch Log Part 6 (s. 2, epi. 1-8)
Side note, I’ll refer to Aisha as Layla, because that’s the name I grew up with. Also, I was informed that I’m wrong actually, and Nabu does stay dead. It seems the second movie is just set before season 4, for whatever reason. I’m not sure how I feel about that. It’s ballsy for sure, and I prefer it to the retconning I thought it was, but specifically giving them the power to stop death and then not letting them use it just seems meanspirited. I don’t know, maybe I’m just a wuss, but I think I’d have liked it better if they’d just made season 5 about saving him. Oh well. Then again I’m salty about them bringing back Daphne, so I guess I just can’t decide how I want it. Actually no, I could live with the Daphne thing, if her design wasn’t so atrocious. But that’s generally a late series issue. I still don’t like it. Especially because they did keep her ghost design! Why did they just abandon that! Okay, now I gotta stop and calm down again.
Very fancy opening shot. No, the character animation does not mash with the 3d background, but it's still impressive.
I like that who the elves bond with isn't completely obvious. The only one you immediately know is Digit, but the rest really isn’t that on the nose.
Layla is great. I love her.
I hate that the phoenix has a face under his helmet but even less of a waist than the girls. I don't know what he is, he creeps me out and he isn't really compelling. The only good thing about him is the voice actor, but to be fair the voice acting in the German version at least is really solid. The bird transformation is kind of cool as well.
j/ They really didn't try to hide this door, didn't they?
j/ Why can Kiko fl suddenly? xD
j/ Stella, fuck you, that headband was perfect! Also I love Riven clapping grumpily in the background.
That first lesson with Wizgiz about the whole no light without shadow is the only thing from season two that really stuck with me my whole life. It's a really cool way to demonstrate that principle.
j/ They never did explain how Layla knew four days had passed by looking at her hands.
I like the codex as an idea, but it's just not set up. Worse still is the phoenix. I don't like him. Yes, let's recruit three teenage witches. Yes, let's go with the weird skeleton man. Yes, let's give the teenage witches new outfits exactly like their old ones and also magical jewelry.
j/ Faragonda fell for the 'As you know' trap. Also sorry, lady, but it still doesn't make sense to send the students in. I do like demonstration of who would be a good idea to send.
j/ Are their midriffs allergic against clothes?
j/ I love that Riven didn't even fight Layla over the bike, he just went with it.
j/ 'You're the light of my life, but a torch has saved my life more than once.' Brandon, damn!
Oh no. I just remembered about the stupid subplot with the underground people. I hate them dearly. I hate their giant eyes. And their misoginysticly coloured culture. And the supid plot.
...They murdered the other elves. But yeah, pot made this show dark.
j/ I hate the mouth inside the snake's mouth.
I'm not a fan of the whole swap someone we don't even know yet, but I do like me a guy with wings.
Not really about this episode, but I just noticed I misremembered Bloom's dad's name. Whoops.
j/ Thank you Winx Club, I'm sure that Braveheart reference will be much appreciated by your target audience.
j/ Yes. Grapefruit juice is what he's drinking.
I love that we get dramatic sepia baby pics of Brandon. xD I hate everything else about this subplot, but that was funny.
I'm so mad that took out Palladium for Avalon. I mean I get what they were going for with him, but Palladium is so much cuter.
j/ Oh god, the monolith is from Winx Club!
Excuse me? I have no memory of this whole 'the original witches worked for Darkar' thing. They pulled this out of the nothing and after this season threw it right back, because it's stupid.
Soft boy Helia is a soft boy and I love him.
I love what they did with the Red Fountain school. This show has many issues, but creativity isn't one of them.

You thoughts on Miraculous Ladybug? The author of ML did had some comments on Winx as well, not saying bashing it (which ngl he did in some way)...which imo you can't really compare cartoon that was 20+ years old to 8 year old cartoon.
Thomas Astruc should go eat shit, Miraculous is worse than winx simply for taking 8 years to conclude its "FIRST ARC". Iginio Straffi for all his mistakes eats him up. Winx Club had 3 arcs with Bloom's Main Story in the span of 3 years, 3 season and 2 movies (you gotta count magical adventure even if Believix is there). Miraculous did that love square bullshit. Come on.
I tried watching Miraculous and I found it terrible. It's not it being a kid show the problem like some people keep repeating (shut up, kids show can and should be good, I am shutting you in a room forcing you to watch Doremi), it's just badly written and with terrible animation. The characters are unlikable, the jokes were... cringy and the story was just not engaging. The only reason why it gets going is because it has an insane kids fanbase hyping it up and insane adults who are into it for Very Different reasons. Oh and it has a good opening. You need a marketable opening to succeed for sure
Miraculous feels like it's written by an AI to have as much shipping drama and Worst Shoujo Tropes picked by a petty man who doesn't want to make anything meaningful out of them because he's a manchild. Kunihiko Ikuhara hated Tuxedo Kamen and the way female characters were handled in Sailor Moon and if he watched Miraculous he would pull his hair out. Iginio Straffi thinks he's hot shit for inventing magical girls in the west in all his interviews (lol) but I don't see him having beef with randos on social media and I respect him for that.
Having grown up on plenty, pleeeenty of magical girl anime that is episodic with its monster/problem of the day episode (not saying week, anime airs daily in Italy), the way Miraculous does its fillers and builds up the story is laughable. If they had left the anime to Toei instead of cheapening out to 3D it would have been great I am sure.
But as it is, it's bad. And I hate its creator. History isn't being kind already since I see clips and memes mocking Miraculous constantly. While Winx has gone for the worse after s4 onwards, I see people still remembering fondly s1-4 and genuinely appreciating it. No mockery of the sort.
I don't see that for Miraculous.
If you're in need of anything better than Miraculous, look up the Italian wikipedia page for Magical Girl anime that has aired in Italy and has positively influenced W.i.t.c.h., Winx Club and others (it's a LOT)

Winx Club season 8/16
In which we get a large terminology retcon and some Trix of a different color.
16 The Sparx Festival
Sparx like the starlight or have we timeslided back to 4kids when Domino was named Sparx?
We open in what must be the Winx common room. The festival hasn’t been mentioned except in the title, we jump right in to the girls’ planning. Aisha wants to do a gymnastic dance competition. Musa’s ready to provide the music and Tecna the special effects. Of course Stella thinks it should be a fashion show, and Flora’s more keen on a rare plant show. Stella transforms her look into a lil blue dress with flowers and a very questionable hairstyle and conjures a red carpet… which is pulled out from under her by the chompy carnivorous plant Flora brought in. Girls, you’re perfect, never change.
Bloom, though, is moping and everyone shortly realizes it and does the “you can tell us about it.” thing. It’s Sky, of course, he’s not answering the phone and nobody knows where he is.
Where he is, is climbing a cliff with Diaspro. Even though they can both fly, and have a spaceship. They’re looking for the lost medallion of Eraklyon, which changed its name between episodes.
Sky’s phone rings and he says it must be Bloom, and Diaspro does an evil grin and… throws herself backwards off the cliff, falling to her doom! O_o
Sky catches her of course, even though he was above her on the cliff and there’s a definite animation fail as Diaspro sort of kneels in midair with Sky supporting her on one arm. Props to Rainbow that this is the first glaring mannequins-in-weird-poses I’ve seen this season!
Diaspro: oh, you saved me! <3
Sky: Be more careful next time!
Sky, she has wings. She would’a been fine. Unless Diaspro’s no longer a fairy because Season 8 timeslide, that is a possibility but it’d be a damn dark one because that would mean Diaspro is willing to risk her life to get Sky’s attention. I foresee a lot of this episode will probably be me microanalyzing all of Diaspro’s actions trying to put together a coherent picture of what she’s really like as a real character rather than the caricature that Rainbow is meaning to give us. I think the final picture will be of someone who should maybe be in some kind of inpatient mental health place getting counseling instead of out alone with the object of her obsession.
They get to the top and there’s this great Indiana Jones temple with arches and waterfalls. Sky’s phone rings again and Diaspro pops up with, “Look over there!” and when he’s still keen to check his phone, “Our mission can’t wait!” Sky grumbles but follows her without contacting Bloom.
Back to Alfea, I swear the approach shots of the school just get better and better. We may have just had a weird mannequin moment but the settings are really quality cg.
And here’s Miss Griffin! Still looking like herself, I think her hair is more lavender but I think the artist made her one-horn hairdo make a little more sense. Griffin and the witch students came to perform in the festival that still hasn’;t been named, and some of the witches have conjured a friendly green slime.
Stella’s here too, she bangs into an adorable witch with Stormy’s exact hair but in pale pink. In fact here are three witches who look just like niceified versions of the Trix! The not-Icy has pink and blue hair and a kitty purse. The Winx do not notice these lookalikes, but Stella does notice not-Icy’s purse.
Not-Darcy’s hair is brighter green than actual Darcy’s, it looks really good, and she and not-stormy both have kitty t-shirts. Why kitties? Anyway once the Winx have gone on their oblivious way Stormy says, ‘i’m gonna crush her!” revealing that these are the actual Trix. I think it would’ve been more fun if they just randomly looked like them. I hadn’t been spoiled with images of these undercover Trix and I love their looks.
The two groups of students gather in I guess a big classroom, it has tiered seating even though average class size at Alfea is twelve girls. A fairy student is showing off her talent, she conjures a bubble around herself and can float in it. The Trix can’t resist having a little fun. First icy pops her bubble, and when she conjures it again stormy blows magic wind sending her bouncing around the hall. Undetered, bubble-fairy goes up again. Darcy is about to prank her wen the students are summoned to the courtyard to begin their performances.
Faragonda and Griffin do this great setup, “Everything in the universe has its opposite. Light… and shadow. Fairies… and witches. But the same magic spark unites us all. The sparx! Sparx is the energy that created the magic universe! The sparx granted powers both to us, the fairies, and to our guests for this very special day, the witches.”
Ok, FG and Griffin, that was so awesome… except, retcon much? Great Dragon? Backstory of your whole universe? Ringin’ any bells? I mean, it would be an interesting change to have Bloom be less like maybe-an-avatar-of-the-source-of-all-magic but… I dunno. The Great Dragon legend is so… legendy. Solid. I like the idea that witch magic and fairy magic are from the same source and I always assumed it was, that source being the Great Dragon. This whole change, just to explain why Valtor needs the Trix to get the wishing star for him?
Stella: “I wouldn’t mind if the Sparx had skipped the witches.”
That wasn’t very nice, Stel.
Now it’s time for everyone to perform… but the Winx haven’t settled on what to do! Panic! Bloom says they should pick something they like doing together and Musa suggests they like playing music together. Bloom glows like this wasn’t a totally obvious thing. Of course it was gonna be a concert, what else could it have possibly been?
Sorry, I snark, I’m loving this episode but I kinda want to see Aisha go off and join a gymnastics group and Stella join a fashion group and Tecna join maybe a hologram 3d art making group and Flora join a gardening group and Bloom and Musa stand there looking confused. It’d be funny. And I still wonder if the other girls feel pressured by Bloom and Musa into all this performing.
But then the star box appears! The compass spins! It has decided it’s time to chase a prime star! The girls run off, assuming the star is in running distance I guess. The disguised Trix follow them.
To another part of the courtyard! The compass is pointing to the well. didn’t they find the Sirenix book down there or something, a few seasons ago? I kinda remember, there’s some cool stuff down a well.
The box speaks! The star is here, but there will be “tests and traps” and also, ‘You can reach your goal all alone or reach the stars joined as one.”
The Winx look down the well and there’s pillars and vaulting and all sorts of architecture down there, I guess there’s a big cave under the courtyard. They walk down spiral steps, following the floating box, until at the bottom there is a round pool of water with light shining up from it. A “door of light” apparently.
Cosmix up to go through the door! Did the song get a new stanza? Maybe I just didn’t notice it before.
They fly through the door.
Into a similar looking underground room hung with overgrown bushes and things. A ruiny sort of place. Flora asks a flower what they should do in this room, but the plant doesn’t want to talk to her. The girls do some magic and the plants recede, revealing each wall of the room has a giant lock and key in it. Six locks, six Winx, obviously. But the flowers are snappy and won’t let them turn the keys. The flowers have quite long stalks and Aisha gets the idea to fly around so the flowers will tangle up trying to catch them.
The Trix have reached the door of light. They switch to their Trix selves with no transformation sequence, too bad, then Icy and Darcy start fighting over who should go through the door first. Stormy beats them to it.
Stormy appears in a room with nine circles on the floor. One lights up, then another, and Stormy seems to automatically know she’s playing Twister. She has success, when a cloud slurps her up and dumps her back with her sisters. You can’t do it alone!
The Winx turn their six keys. Nothing happens. Stella realizes the keys and locks don’t match in color. The girls carry the keys to the matching locks and another door of light appears.
Which leaves them in another cube room with round medallions on the walls and a floating cube with mystical symbols on it in the middle. Tecna recognizes it as a die, and stella gives it a shove. The die bangs against some walls and the symbols on the die and the walls light up, but it’s clearly not the right sequence. Tec says all games have rules, they just have to figure them out. Time to experiment!
Trix stand on three twister circles and another door appears. they’re not exactly working together, Icy and Darcy keep shoving each other and stormy keeps rolling her eyes at them.
Tec figures it out, they have to match the symbols on the die to the ones on the wall. So they all together push the die to the matching wall and another door opens.
Now they’re in a room with shelves of what look like potion bottles. A round skylight and shelves of magical implements. This room looks like a place people might use instead of just another trick room.
Flora is delight.
Bloom seems to think the prime star is one of the objects, but there are so many.
Aisha finds an aqua ball that looks like the sphere protecting the star compass, but of course it isn’t that easy. The ball splits into two and then into many balls that go bouncing away. The Winx keep catching them and they keep multiplying.
The Trix find the die but can’t push it the same direction and it rolls around the room and squishes them.
Darcy figures out what to do, they have to move it together. Her sisters are having none of this ‘together’ stuff. Darcy uses magic and a mirror to reflect the symbol from one side of the die to the correct wall, opening the door. Darcy is the smartest Trix.
Now our villains are also in the magic item storage room. They go straight to finding the prime star-- wouldn’t they want to grab a bunch of magic items?? Here comes the aqua ball! They also recognize it as the prime star and all garb it at once… and here come lots more balls!
The Winx are trying to figure out which of their balls is the real one, I guess. They know they have to work as a team.
They do a very cool Elements of Harmony thing, each grabbing a ball and speaking words of teamwork.
Bloom: friendship
Musa: unity
Aisha: loyalty
Stella: sincerity
Tecna: collaboration
Flora: mutual understanding
They fly into the air and all the balls come back together into one ball which has a lil green star charm inside. Bloom puts it in the star box and the girls poof away.
Meanwhile the Trix are still drowning in balls.
The girls appear back at Alfea to Miss F announcing it’s time for them to perform. Wait, what about the other performances? I’ve seen a million Winx concerts, I wanted to see something else!
Concert! Minor fairies dance1 the boys except for Sky are there. Faragonda and Griffin clap along. Even witch students seem to be enjoying themselves.
Back with sky and Diaspro, they’ve found a big door. Diaspro says this mission is thrilling, but Sky can’t wait for it to be over and what does the map say so we can get on with it already?
Diaspro unrolls her map and it’s just emojis of her and Sky in a heart. Pffffhahahahaha! Oh that is so weird and dumb! Diaspro, yer off your nut, why do you even want a dude who can’t wait to be out of your company?
Ok, we didn’t get as much Diaspro analysis in this episode, but it was still a good one! Maybe next time!

Winx 801 Personal Thoughts
I also wrote an episode summary, you can find that here, and the raw episode here.
Overall, TL:DR - it’s like a 7/10, maybe 8. Good nods to previous seasons, great characterization, I like the set up and have hope for later episodes
Animation/Style
I’ve made it clear before I hate how the Specialists look, and that’s honestly not really important because who cares what I think. Everyone else looks fine, with the exception of Flora and Layisha for obvious reasons. Even more annoying is that the series literally opens up with a closeup of a fairy of color, fucking same eye color as Flora, but we had to change her to be white now. And this nameless fairy is ADORABLE, look at her!
so like idk, it’s cool to have POC in the background of a show, but main cast? Nah. And I’m preaching to the choir I know, but just something about it made me stare into an imaginary camera like I’m in The Office. Other than that I will say it’s animated well, we’re using some 3D models and putting the characters in in 2D, which can seem odd if you aren’t used to it. But I prefer it over a 2D/3D split, so that’s a win.
The other character we see with a major redesign is Kiko, and I am still...unsure. He kinda looks like a stuffed animal, but his character has remained unchanged so there’s that.
Outfits
Because it wouldn’t be Winx Club without them. I love the civilian outfits the girls have, I think they’re beautiful and - with the exception of Musa’s - are reflective of their original styles (not to say Musa’s is bad, I like her outfit. But it’s far more girly than her S1 attire). Their ‘Rockstar’ outfits are fine as well, though not a personal favorite. Those PJs though...yikes. @magentafairy and I agreed it looks like Stella bought some curtains and made PJs out of them.
Also here’s hoping we see the boys without their Power Rangers uniforms this season. BUT NOT RIVEN IN A GODDAMN ASCOT. Like why did someone do that?
Characterization/Interactions
I don’t know who finally took the reigns back, but the characterization here is on point, and easily my favorite part of the episode. Musa’s quiet, slightly loner personality from the first seasons of Winx comes through, Brandon’s Macho-ness that quickly reverts into being a giant dork, Griselda being a stickler for the rules (and ready to fight Knut) - it’s all just great.
There’s also genuine friend moments with the Winx (especially in their dorm), and the Specialists at Red Fountain. Not to mention when they’re together at Alfea Tecna and Timmy blow up an experiment and everyone’s reaction is just like ‘lol yeah expected.’ It’s an aura of ‘we can make fun of each other because we’ve known each other for years,’ and I really like it.
Other Thoughts
Tecna and Timmy have always been a great couple, you guys are just blind.
Bloom has a ‘pixel Sky’ on her phone and it’s the ugliest thing Ive ever seen.
graphic design is my passion.
There’s like a C Plot of Kiko and the Lumen/Twinkly being bros, but not before he fuckin tried to murder it with a hammer.
We see Valtor’s evil minion from the trailer in the episode, but not Valtor himself, which actually made me happy and hope for a big reveal later on. It gives a hint of “SRS BSNSS,” which is a welcome change.
So yeah, there are plenty of good parts of this episode, but I still need to get used to the design, and I may have missed good parts due to the language barrier. With any luck we’ll get the english episode on YouTube soon, and I’m honestly looking forward to it.
