i know i'm sonic brained rn but i started watching athena p's wild kratts video and remembered my wild kratts oc from when i was like 9 or 10. this is vicki varmitech, morally conflicted daughter of zach varmitech and... *gasp* donita donata???? somehow they had a kid and zach has custody.

vicki kinda just exists in the middle of zach and the kratt bros' conflicts, usually hanging out wherever. she's basically her dad's assistant, without the pay! she wishes her dad would pay more attention to her than whatever harebrained scheme he's got going on. eventually she'll ditch him to join the kratt bros.

Happy Birthday 2nd Birthday to Victor and Vallen Varmitech!!!

It’s our twins second birthday! Victor and Vallen are our little miracle twins! They were born over a month early, and they were subjected to a short hospital stay, but they pulled through, and we could not be more grateful and thankful for them.

Victor was the only child we ever planned to have…Zach wanted a son just like him, but the joke was on us because we got TWO sons just like him….In attitude and appearance 😆. It’s challenging to have 3 Varmitech men that are so much alike, but it’s unbelievably beautiful all at the same time. Zach and I love our boys, and Varina and Vera adore their little brothers.

Oh my goodness, I see it! They look so similar! And I can’t help but think he looks nearly identical to my Wild Kratts OC/fankid Vallen! Vallen looks very similar to Zach except he’s got Violet’s blue violet eyes, her hair type, and face shape which is more similar to Buddy’s than Zach. So yeah…he’s giving me Zach and Vallen vibes!

Hey, Henry, Zach Varmitech here. Since I’m one of the people responsible for naming Varina, I’ll be answering this ask.

Wellll, for starters it’s a bit of a complicated story. We knew Varina was going to be a girl early on, and this was hard for us since we had just lost Alexandria within the same year that we got pregnant with Varina.

Because of this Violet and I were very hesitant about picking out a name for Varina. Violet and I were both afraid of getting attached and losing her too if we named her, so we put it off until Mother’s Day of 2015, exactly 3 weeks before Varina was born, since she arrived early.

That morning Violet finally found the courage to go into the nursery the Zachbots and I had put together for Alexandria. Violet had not been in there since shortly after we lost Alexandria, so going in there was a big step for Violet in the mourning and healing process of losing our first child.

I found Violet asleep in a rocker with her mother’s Bible spread out on her lap. She had been reading it, taking solace in the following passage her mother had highlighted:

In the margins of the Bible her mother, Virginia “Dawn” Tyler, had written the names of Violet and all the babies she’d lost prior to and after having Violet. I knew then, kind of in the back of my mind, that Virginia should be part of Varina’s name.

For Violet’s mother, and for Violet herself, because Varina was the descendant of these two beautiful, strong, stubborn, loving, and unbelievably kind women, and she deserved to share a name with them.

After Violet and I spoke that morning; it was quite a long and heartfelt conversation about Varina, Alexandria, our relationship, Violet’s mother and father, and their similar struggles with having children; I hesitantly brought up the fact that we hadn’t picked out a name for Varina:

“I don’t wanna force you…it’s your choice, but we haven’t thought of a name for Baby Varmitech yet…last time we waited too, and then I ended up naming Alexandria after…after we lost her…that was hard. I just…I’d like to give Baby V a name now..but it’s up to you, we can wait…” I explained, tripping over my words, looking at Violet anxiously, hoping I had not upset her. Violet stared at her belly, rubbing a hand over the bump, she looked up at me with watery eyes, her lip trembling, “you’re right…she does need a name…I’m not sure if I am ready to name her, but maybe you can? You gave Alexandria a beautiful name, I trust your judgment.”

I felt myself relax, but I began to panic at the same time, “I-I don’t even know where to start…should I just look through the phone book and pick out a name or something?”

Violet laughed and pulled herself out of the rocker to go to a bookshelf in the nursery, “well, that’s an idea, but maybe a baby name book will be easier? The names are listed alphabetically with meaning, origin, and everything. This was the book my dad got for him and my mom when she was pregnant for the first time with Sterling. My mom ended up picking most of the names for my siblings and me, but they used this book a lot, it helped in their quest to find nature inspired names for all of us.”

I took the baby name book and started leafing through it. Me being me, I automatically went for the Z and V names. With Alexandria, I’d named her after my mom (my mom’s middle name is Alexandria) because she looked like my mom, and I used Rinella as her middle name because of the teacher who had helped keep Violet safe from her ex Travis on many occasions.

So, I didn’t get to use Z or V names the first go-around, but I wanted to…and with all our children after Alexandria they ended up getting Z or V names, but I digress, back to Varina…

As I was looking through the names my attention was drawn to two names in particular: Vera and Varina. These two names had been circled by Violet’s father with notes written in the margins expressing his interest in them.

Initially, Violet and I were hooked not on Varina, but Vera. Varina’s name was supposed to be Vera Vanica. We loved the meaning of Vera, which was: True. And the name Vanica means “gift of God.” So the name would have meant True gift of God. And since she was our rainbow baby after Alexandria, this would have been perfect.

But…this was not the name we used for her…we used it one child later…for Vera…for Varina we decided to go with her name for a few reasons: the meaning, the fact that as I mentioned before Varina would be partially named after her mother and grandmother, and the fact that Violet’s father had written this exact name in the margin of the baby book: Varina Virginia.

When we saw this name we read the meaning Violet’s father had come up with for the name, having scribbled it in the margins of the book: Varina - Strange, yet to be discovered; Virginia - Pure. The child, then, would have been named for the fact that she was a pure, unexpected gift. And our Varina was just that. She was our rainbow, a pure, unexpected gift after the storm of losing Alexandria and nearly our marriage.

And…because that all got a little heavy and depressing, here are some embarrassing baby photos…oh our child, our child…how we love thee…even when she’s too much like me…and her mommy.

I'm watching the Wild Kratts episode about Golden snub nose monkies cause I love them so much and it got me thinking.

Pretty sure I made a post about this already but eh.

It's stupid but it made me chuckle for a solid ten minutes.

The main reason I thought of it is because ya know like when people make fankids? I've seen so many. Personally I don't really like them cause I just find them weird but I think it would be really fun if Azure and Wukongs fan kid was just a golden snub nose monkie.

But not like an actual kid. Like normal fun kid.

Like Wukong just found a golden snub nose monky baby like the normal baby monkies and just picked it up and held it to Azure and went

How did I keep forgetting to reblog this, ahhh, I love it so much! Thank you for drawing them! They look so good, and this pose is perfect for them! Zach is always laying his head in Violet’s lap, and she is petting his hair! And I love the inclusion of Vera! I can’t help but think that maybe Violet’s upset with Zach over Vera…since her hair looks lighter here I’m thinking that maybe Zach let her dye it without Violet’s permission, and Violet is finding out and is not happy 😂. Vera, of course, is there to capture the moment on video.

Varina: Well, for starters HI!!! We are Varina, Vera, Victor, and Vallen Varmitech! There is one more of us on the way, but mom and dad haven’t had Victoria yet, so we’ll answer this for now…with basically me (Varina) and Vera answering because well, Victor and Vallen are 2 right now… we are 9 and 5 so we’ve been able to really hang out with and get to know the Wild Kratts kids! More below cut!

Varina: We’ve had pretty awesome creature adventures with all the Wild Kratts kids, especially Gavin, Ronan, Aidan, and Nolan because they are always around! I’m pretty close with Gavin and Aidan. Much to Dad’s dismay, he still hasn’t gotten over losing to Gavin in the fishing competition. I also really love spending time with Jenny, Katie, and Sani! They are like my best girl friends aside from Vera! She’s my best girl bff for life! *muttering* Well, usually…

Vera: I really like all the Wild Kratts kids! It’s always fun to be able to play with kids that aren’t Varina, Victor, or Vallen. It kinda gets boring playing with them all the time. But I love playing with Nolan and Gavin, they are really nice boys! I really like playing with Nolan because he’s so nice, he really likes Pronghorns, and I do too. He’s also got really cute hair. And I like his eyes, they are really pretty and blue…

Varina: She’s got a crush on Nolan…

Vera: No, I don’t! I just think he’s cute!

Varina: She’s got a bear named after him that she kisses!

Vera: No..No I don’t! Daddy! Varina’s making fun of me!

Varina: Mom! Vera is lying and is calling daddy to save her, that’s not fair!”

Just A Cute Observation…

So, with the influx of Wild Kratts OCs I’ve noticed that the children OCs of the canon characters are pretty much the carbon copies of their fathers (for the children OCs that are from one of the male Wild Kratts Characters). So, I guess the daddies genes must be very strong within this fandom 😂.

@radiactivenurse and @beanskcid I’m looking at you with Bea and Martin’s little girl (if you don’t want me to tag you in this post, please let me know!)

Even with my own fan kids for Zach and my OC Violet… (Varina, Vera, Victor, Vallen, and Victoria: shown below as teens/adults)

When looking at their parents we know who they all favor…It took them having 5 kids to get one that looked like Violet…And Victoria still got Zach’s eyes 😂.

So anyway, I thought this was adorable and wanted to mention it 🥰. BTW, my Ziolet kiddos are always so very eager to make new friends and they love all the new kiddo OCs coming into the fandom just as much as I do. So yeah…I’m already thinking of friendships between them, don’t mind me 😅.

Happy Birthday to our beautiful daughter Vera. You are the daughter we never thought we’d have…we tried to have another child for years after Varina, but it never happened, we’d given up hope that we’d have you, but you came into our lives when we least expected it. And your arrival paved the way for two other little boys.

The day you were born was a whirlwind. As with all our children, you could not have a calm birth, the schedule cesarean section which was supposed to bring you into the world on New Year’s Eve was bumped up to an emergency cesarean on December 14th because your heartbeat was rapidly decreasing with each contraction I was having. But you arrived safely and healthy, which is all we could ask for.

As the middle child we know you can often feel as if you are ignored or forgotten, but that is far from the truth. Your spirit, heart, sassy attitude, beauty, and talent are unforgettable. All our lives would not be complete without you in them.

You are the sister Varina dreamed of and begged us to give to her as a Christmas present ever since she could talk (that worked out quite well due to your early arrival). You are the child we prayed for. You are the sister your brothers adore, your brothers who look up to you and admire you so much.

You are the child born on my (Violet’s) grandfather’s birthday, his special gift to us. You are the child who inherited my (Violet’s) mother’s chestnut hair, yet another gift to us. You are our Vera Vanica, our, as your name justly says, “True gift of God.”
