Wilbert “Wil” Hart (October 19, 1947 - July 14, 2022) was a soul singer, songwriter, and producer, known as a founding and last surviving member of the musical group the Delfonics.
He was born and raised in Philadelphia as one of eight children of Wilson and Iretha Hart. He went to Philadelphia public schools and attended Overbrook High School.
He and William formed the Delfonics in 1965, with William as their primary songwriter, often in collaboration with Thom Bell. The Delfonics had a string of hit singles (1968-74) that included La-La - (Means I Love You)”, “Ready Or Not Here I Come (Can’t Hide From Love)”, and “Didn’t I (Blow Your Mind This Time)” among several others that reached the Billboard R&B and Pop charts. In 1971 the group won a Grammy Award for Best R&B Performance and was featured in the first live televised performance of that ceremony. The group was awarded a Gold Record for “Didn’t I (Blow My Mind This Time)”.
The Delfonics split into two groups in 1975, with he and William each leading their units. The brothers were involved in a legal dispute over the use of the group name, with a judge ruling in 2007 that both could use the name while properly informing the audience of the distinction between the two groups. His version was called Wil Hart & The Delfonics, or Wil Hart formerly of the Delfonics.
In 1995, he and the other original members of The Delfonics were inducted into the Philadelphia Walk of Fame. He released the solo album Hold on for Love on his label, Mother Earth Records. He released the album Fonic Zone which included a contribution from rapper Rick Ross.
In 1997 the song “Hey! Love”, by The Delfonics written by him, was sampled by The Notorious B.I.G. on the successful album Life After Death. In 2018, the Album was RIAA certified 11 times platinum.
He married Sheila (1966). They have 12 children, 34 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren. #africanhistory365 #africanexcellence

"LADS STOLE 15 BIKES GET 3 TO 12 MONTHS," Toronto Star. July 28, 1933. Page 2. ---- Sold Them Piecemeal Downtown and None Recovered - Spanking Suggested --- "These two boys admitted that they had stolen 15 bicycles." testified. Detective L. Sullivan, giving evidence against Wilbert Stewart and Joe Conforti. "Most of the bicycles were stolen from Sunnyside and city achosis. The thefts have extended over a month and a half. They took them downtown and sold them in parts. None of the bicycles had been recovered."
Conforti also was charged with having concealed weapons. "I found this pistol." the detective said. "He hadn't any ammunition."
"How long has he had it?" "About a week." The pistol had a broken spring, and Conforti wes remanded on that count. Appeal for leniency was put in for Conforti by his spiritual father. "I think it would be best if he were spanked," he suggested. "Unfortunately, we have no Authority to spank," pointed out Magistrate Coatsworth. Tom O'Connor pleaded their youth In extenuation. "These boys have been out of school for a year and they haven't been able to get work." "Three months definite and nine indeterminate," the magistrate cut in. "And I consider that to be a very moderate sentence." Jack Parr, who was arrested with the other two, and charged with stealing one bicycle, was put on probation for one year.
Found Guilty of Receiving Frank Grigg, found guilty of receiving some of the bicycles, was given the option of $25 and costs or three months. The two boys who had just been sentenced were witnesses.
All was going well until Mr. Ross confidentially asked Stewart: "Did you tell Grigg these bicycles were stolen?" Stewart answered quietly. "Yes." And however much counsel for the defence might storm, he never wavered. Conforti denied Stewart's statement. "We told Grigg that the bicycles belonged to us," he declared. "How much did he pay you for the wheels?" Mr. Malone asked. "He gave us $10 for the first one. If for the others." Mr. Ross pleaded that there was no conclusive evidence that the bicycles had even been stolen. "We don't know to whom the wheels belong." The crown asked for severity. "These two young fellows, Stewart Conforti, are going to serve two months servitude. The one who makes it possible for all this to go man like Grigg. I don't think he should get off." And he didn't. Fine or Jall for Vagrants "About four o'clock this morning 1 found this man trying to get into St. Michael's hospital," testified P.C. against George Harte, charged with vagrancy in men's court today. "The he wasn't creating a disturbance? asked Magistrate Coatsworth. "Yes, he was." replied the officer. "I wasn't trying to get into the hospital," Harte pleaded. "But I had a pain in my stomach." "Ten dollars or one month," his worship decided. Harte had hen previously remanded for examination at the psychiatric hospital. George Blanchett, Jerry Blanchett, Willian Powers and Wilfred Lord had all been picked up by a C.P.R. constable as they were riding the rods. The two Bianchetts could hardly show their heads over the rail. "How old is that little fellow?" asked the magistrate, pointing to George Blanchett. "He says he's 18," Inspector Nat Guthrie informed him. "Eighteen years or 18 months." his worship inquired. "Why don't you give him a chair to stand on?
The Blanchett brothers, who live in Windsor, but are working on a Grimsby farm, were put in the care of the Salvation Army. "You'll get them cleaned up, won't you, Captain Bunton?" the bench requested. "Oh yes," the captain agreed, "we have plenty of showers and bathtubs."
The other members of the quartet were sentenced $5 or ten days. Nine other jaunters pleaded guilty and were all given the usual $5 or a days. Had Concealed Weapons Robert Ahton, charged with carrying concealed weapons, was sent down for one month. "And I'm reccommending deportation to England at the end of his term." added his worship.
Ross Calder, Wiliam Thompson and J. Flannigan, charged with shopbreaking, were remanded til Aug.4 on bail of $500 each. Rocco Spizzeri, 19, was put on probation for one year for theft. He had stolen goods worth about $25 from the Queen St. warehouse where he had been employed.
W. J. Omand, charged with criminal negligence and with having concealed weapons, was remanded one week. According to police, the car driven by Omand on Oster Ave., struck James Young, aged 6, yesterday afternoon, the lad suffering fractured leg and skull. In searching the car, Detective Taylor found a pistol. There was no ammunition. Bail was set at $300.
Stood at Bay with Knife Telling of the arrest of John Mitchell at 2 a.m. on July 14. Detective Frank Crowe testified: "Finally Detective Brown and I chased him into a garage. After a moment or two I heard Brown shout: Look out. Frank, he's coming at you with knife.' I turned around and him brandishing this knife. I told him to drop It. He wouldn't. Then I drew my gun, and made him throw It over the fence." Mitchell was charged with theft and with carrying concealed weapons. The two detectives had first noticed him at the corner of Carlton and Parliament Sts., where he was stealing fruit.
"He only pinched a couple of peaches," pleaded Austin Ross, defence counsel. "It was the whole combination that makes it serious," his worship said. "You can't charge a man with having combinations," Mr. Ross retorted facetiously.
Pitched from Bicycle When the police first saw Mitchell, they drew their car up to the curb and said: "Come on now, boy. We're the police." However, he immediately hopped on his bicycle. Then followed a furious chase along Gerrard St.
"His bicycle hit a corner, but ho managed to land on his feet." Detective Crowe recounted. "Then he took to the backyards. When we cornered him at the garage, he had a pair of gloves on. And it was a very hot night. He also had a heavy hose nozzle on him."
"Couldn't this knife have been used. for quite peaceful purposes?" Mr. Ross asked. "I suppose It could, but, it's not very likely at 2 o'clock in the morning. Besides, It has a blade 4 1-2 Inches long."
Mitchell claimed he had been using the knife to repair his hose.
However, his worship thought it looked suspicious. Mitchell was consequently sent down for two months.
Cecil Tuck, charged with theft of an auto, was put on probation for two years.
Carl McMahon, who had been remanded on a charge of driving an auto while under the influence of Ilquor, was sent down for seven days.
Cadi Knows Dandellon Wine Before Magistrate Jones in liquor and traffic court, Albert Andrioll was charged with having. P. C. Brown testified to finding from 80 to 100 gallons of dandelion wine in accused's cellar.
Defence pleaded it was home-made and not potent.
"Thirty years ago I had my first drink of dandelion wine at a dance. I didn't dance very long. I know all about It," reminisced Magistrate Jones.
An order to have the wine confiscated was given and the charge withdrawn.
When Leonard Hatch, tried a week ago on a reckless driving charge, appeared for sentence, the crown ask- ed for adjournment, since some personal damage had not yet been. straightened. It was granted until Sept. 5, under $200 bail.
"He started to cry and said he had been a fool," related P.C. Colson, in the case of Harold Turner who, with William Bodner, was charged with having alcohol illegally.
Both men pleaded not guilty.
Colson alleged Turner had taken him to his cellar and produced 11 bottles of alcohol from a "hide-out."
Mrs. Turner said Bodner and another man had asked about renting the cellar. "If you get this man to 'rat' on the other, he might bump off Bodner." suggested Defence Counsel A. R. Hassard. "No, he won't, he's too big a coward." retorted the woman.
"This isn't Chicago," observed his worship.
Turner was remanded for judgment until Sept. 5. Bodner will pay $500 and costs or do three months. and one month.
"I'm guilty." James Hoult tried to impress on the court when a charge of being drunk and having liquor illegally was read.
He had been found lying in a store doorway and had a bottle of wine. He was released until Sept. 6 under bail of $500. His wife will then re- port an his conduct.
A charge of "having" against Mike. Michlow was withdrawn, but Nick Gurrell, Jointly charged. was sentenced to $300 and costs or three months and one month.
John H. Turnbull had liquor in an automobile. He will pay a fine of $20 and costs.

Includes Dean Chisnall's speech. Please gift this audio upon request. Instrumentals: A Chorus Line US Tour Pit Tracks Cats Instrumental Tracks (Mortifer) A lot of the tracks are synthesized, sounds like someone took a lot of karaoke tracks and put them together with orchestra but they’re some great tracks. Cats Mexico 1991 Orchestra Tracks (Teatro Silvia Pinal) Cats Backing Tracks (Midi) The Wizard of Oz Orchestra Tracks (RSC’ 1981) Les Mis US Tour Orchestra Tracks Wicked Orchestra Tracks Notes: This album is given to cast members when they first get cast in the show. People say this orchestration is the First National Tour one but it really isn’t, it sounds much more like the LA orchestrations. Perfect quality, includes every musical interlude, underscore, song, etc.
Audio Wants: Audio of the current run of Cats in Mexico, any production of Cabaret. Anything with Wicked, Cats México or Argentina, Dear Evan Hansen, Hadestown, Once on this Island, The Wizard of Oz, and anything I don’t have!
