Kill Licenses
Stargirl was excited! Captain Marvel had just offered to let her fight crime with him in Fawcett. The man was like a big brother to everyone. That included her. He was super nice, was normally the person who first stepped up to diffuse a situation, and overall just a big teddy bear of a man. So it was a little bit a of a surprise when she saw him snap a rapist’s neck like a twig.
Marvel: *drops the body, muttering something about paperwork*
Stargirl: *gobsmacked*
Marvel: *looks over to her for a second before doing a double take* “Oh my gods I forgot you were here!” *sounds horrified*
Stargirl: “You just killed a man!”
Marvel: “I know- I know!” *leads her away from the body* “I’m so sorry you had to see that.” *sounds completely ashamed*
Stargirl: “There’s nothing to be sorry about. You killed a rapist. That’s one less evil in the world, but my question is how are you gonna get away with this?! Cap, you’re gonna go to jail!”
Marvel: “Ah… Well, no. I have a license to kill.”
Stargirl: “Wait, you can actually have one of those?”
Marvel: “Yeah, uh me, and most of the other Fawcett heroes have one. We’ve all had them since the sixties and had to get them renewed a while back. It’s not a bad thing to have for situations like this.”
Stargirl: “…Can I have one?”
Marvel: “Yes? No? I don’t know? You should in my opinion. It’s a good safety net for if you accidentally kill a villain. You just fill out some paperwork and you’ll be safe. Do you want one…?”
Stargirl: “Yes.” *immediate answer*
Marvel: “Are you sure? I mean, you’re a teenager, so you might need a parent to sign or something.”
Stargirl: “Well, I don’t have a parent right now, but I do technically have a temporary guardian at the moment.” *eyes him*
Marvel: “No… you’re not seriously suggesting…?”
And that’s how Marvel ended up taking Stargirl to a secret government base so she could get a kill license. Stargirl got a stellar recommendation from the Captain and passed with flying colors.
As they’re leaving the base…
Marvel: “Okay, so we need to lay some ground rules.”
Stargirl: “Ground rules?”
Marvel: “Yeah, ground rules. Now I know you’re not the type of kid to go around killing people all willy-nilly, but I’ll say it just in case, don’t go killing people all willy-nilly.”
Stargirl: “Well, duh, I’m not dumb.”
Marvel: “I know you aren’t. And now onto the actually important rule. Under any circumstances, do not kill around other heroes. That’s how Huntress got kicked out of the Justice League after all.”
Stargirl: “I can’t even do it around you?”
Marvel: “Well, I guess you could. And I guess you could do it around the other Fawcett heroes, but just make sure not to do it around heroes who don’t have a license, okay? I don’t wanna get in trouble, and I doubt you wanna get in trouble too.”
Stargirl: “Gotcha.”
Marvel: “Nice. Now that that’s out of the way, wanna go for victory ice cream since you got your license?”
A solid four months passed after this incident. The two forgot about it. They were chilling. Then, Courtney forgot that her stepdad didn’t know that she could legally kill a villain, fill out some paperwork, and face no repercussions.
S.T.R.I.P.E.: “YOU TOOK MY STEPDAUGHTER OUT TO GET A KILL LICENSE?! WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU?!”
Marvel: “Nothing! I didn’t think it was a bad thing!”
S.T.R.I.P.E.: “She’s sixteen. She sliced a man’s head off. CLEAN. With practiced precision. She doesn’t even have a drivers license! What in hell would make you think it’s a good idea to give her a kill license?!”
Marvel: “Okay, her slicing off someone’s head isn’t my fault. I didn’t teach her that, and the guys who gave her the license didn’t either.”
S.T.R.I.P.E.: “Then who did??”
Marvel: “I don’t know! Maybe she’s just bloodthirsty?”
Stargirl: “No I’m not?” *sounds slightly offended*
Marvel: *ignores her* “Look, the point is, I’m sorry for not telling you but please, please, pretty please don’t tell Batman.”
S.T.R.I.P.E.: “Why?”
Marvel: “Oh come on. He’s super anti-kill. If you told him he’d have me removed from the Justice League almost instantly.”
S.T.R.I.P.E.: “Maybe you should be removed! You don’t just give a kid the okay to kill someone.”
Marvel: “I’m not giving her an okay to do anything. I only wanted her to have it as a safety net. I promise.”
It took a lot of convincing for Pat not to squeal to Batman, but thankfully, they got it in the end. Though, the man still ended up chewing the two out.
Inspired by @helps-the-writing-brain-go’s repost on my We Thought You Died?! post :) Thanks for the inspo!

Come to Bed
Summary: based on this request - a text from Azriel was meant to go to you, but went to his entire family instead.
Author’s note: I loved this idea this was so fun and definitely very on brand for the inner circle tbh
Az: Come to bed :(
It was a short message. Azriel had been sick for two days now, and since meeting you, he can’t remember how he’d just go on during his sick days.
He used to go to work just fine while sick. He’d wear a mask and keep his distance, but he’d be able to go no problem.
But ever since you came into his life, now he was too spoiled when he was sick to go anywhere or do anything. You had insisted that your cuddles would heal him, along with the various soups you made him eat every day.
Honestly? It was a little awesome. If it weren’t for how shitty he felt, that is. You rubbed his back until he fell asleep, whenever he got up to shower you washed his sheets, and you brought him medicine every few hours. He didn’t have to lift a finger, and he was soaking in every moment of your attention.
But now you were downstairs, talking with Elain about something or another. You had told him what for before you left, but his feverish haze had made him forget. He woke up alone, having dozed off in your absence, and all he wanted was you to come back. He had just texted you to come back to bed when his door creak opens.
Azriel pops his head out of the nest he made to find Cassian crawling up his bed on top of the covers, wrapping his arms around Azriel, and spooning him over the covers.
Azriel coughs, “what are you doing here?”
“You asked for me to come to bed.”
Azriel’s head hurts trying to figure out what he means when his door opens once more to Rhysand strolling through the room, lying on Az’s other side.
“Ah, come on Azzy. It’s just like when we were younger,” Cassian tells him, his body heat helping with the chills taking over Azriel’s body.
Azriel sniffles, “we were like eight years old.”
“Well, Cassian hasn’t matured much since then,” Rhysand chimes in, staying on the bed but not too close to Az. He’ll provide some level of comfort with his presence, but he’ll be damned if he lets his brother get him sick.
“Why are you two here?” Azriel croaks, every word hurting his poor throat.
Rhys opens his phone to show him the family groupchat they had, the last message coming from Azriel saying, “Come to bed :(“
Azriel groans reading it, “I’m sure you could guess I sent it to the wrong person.”
Cassian chuckles, causing vibrations through Azriel’s back. He’s too weak to fight Cassian off of him, and the weight of him actually feels nice. Maybe Cassian would make a great weighted blanket after all.
“I never second guess any texts I receive. I assumed you missed me, it has been days since you’ve seen my glorious face.”
Cassian and Azriel continue bickering while Rhysand watches in amusement.
Mor comes in shortly after, bringing a warm cup of tea for both herself and Azriel, handing one mug to him while lounging across the foot of the bed. The tea soothes his throat, and he hates to admit it, but he does appreciate the presence of his family. He had been quarantined for days, trying to keep to his room as much as possible. He had grown quite accustomed to his big, invasive family. Your company was more than enough, but he did miss Cassian’s daily debriefs of his day.
Feyre comes in, taking residence next to Mor, as Cassian tells them all ridiculous versions of how he managed to destroy that building in the Summer Court. Each tale more ridiculous than the last, with Feyre even adding her own absurd version of events.
“I heard that a dragon flew in and Cassian fought it off with his bare hands and the only damage was that one building!”
Their laughter rings in Az’s ears as he closes his eyes, dozing, but not truly asleep.
You were shocked walking back to Az’s bedroom to find both of his brothers, Feyre, and Mor all lounging in bed with him. Azriel perks up at your figure in the doorway, somehow knowing you were there despite his resting state. His voice crackles from his sore throat, “save me?”
You walk in, squeezing yourself between Rhys and Azriel, and your boyfriend melts in your arms, falling asleep quickly as his family still chatters around you.
The next time Azriel wakes up, it’s dark outside, but he’s still cuddled to your chest.
“Hi sweetheart,” you tell him, setting your book down. He practically purrs at you running your hand through his hair.
“Sleep well?”
He presses his face back into your chest. “I would have slept better if they weren’t all annoying.”
You laugh, leaning over to kiss the crown of his head.
“Poor baby with a loving family,” you coo, and he huffs.
“They’re not loving, they’re annoying busybodies. Except Feyre. She hasn’t gotten that bad yet.”
You smile, untangling his hair with your fingers.
“They might be annoying busybodies, but they love you and you love them.”
He squeezes you a little tighter. “I’m sick. I only have so much love to give and it’s all going towards you.”
You laugh, your hand moving down to stroke his back. He relaxes in your embrace, your fingers soothing his clammy skin.
“Okay, you can wait until you’re feeling better to love them again.”
“Deal,” he tells you, eyes growing heavy once more. “Just - don’t tell Cassian. He’ll get upset.”

˚୨୧⋆。˚ ⋆ in which dallas winston loses his temper
( a/n : HIII im sorry if this wasnt ur vision but i dont think dallas is one for big apologies so i kinda focused on the arguement more than the apology hope that’s ok… also toxic dallas alert sorry if that isnt ur scene!! also not proofread but hope u cuties enjoy )
it was a late night in mid-summer, and you and dallas were on the porch on the curtis brothers house. he wanted to go out for a smoke, and dragged you along. you were wearing his leather jacket, it was a windy night and you were getting chilly. dallas had goosebumps along his arms.
“are you sure you don’t want it back, dal?” you ask him, insisting on giving him his jacket back.
“nah, sugar, don’t want ya freezin’ to death out here,” he answers, taking a drag of his cigarette as he looks out at the empty street.
“i’ll just go inside, though, so you don’t get hypothermia or something..” you insist, but he grabs your hand and stops you.
“you’re fine, baby, stay with me.” you look up at him and nod, squeezing his hand a bit tighter.
you stand outside for a little while longer. it feels so peaceful standing there with him. his hand that’s rough and dangerous from the punches it throws is enveloping yours in a sweet gentleness shown only with you. his cigarette smoke becoming a mock mist that calms you both down. his deep breathes that are only heard because of how quiet it is.
nothing could ruin this moment.
you felt it was a good time to say the three words. not like you hadn’t said them before — it’s been a year since you’ve started dating, and you’ve both adored each other from the very start. but dallas got funny when you told him what he already knew. tonight would be different, you thought.
“.. i love ya, dal,” you say softly after a few moments of quiet. it felt casual — exactly what he would have wanted. but maybe not casual enough, because there was a short silence following your words.
eventually, he speaks. “i know ya do, sugar.”
you sigh. why is it that he could never stand to say it back?
he catches your sigh. of course he knows what you’re sighing about — he knows you all too well. he chooses not to act on it, not to apologize, not to say anything. he doesn’t want to fight with you. he just takes a drag of his cigarette and plays innocent.
“it would be nice to know that you loved me too, dallas,” you eventually say.
“oh c’mon,” another drag of his cigarette. “you ain’t an idiot, you know i do.”
“do i? i can’t remember one time you’ve said ‘i love you’ to me,” you cross your arms and look up at him.
“this isn’t somethin’ to get pressed on, y/n, the boys are inside and the windows are open,” he puts a hand on your shoulder, trying to get you to stop talking, to pretend like you’re okay. all because he doesn’t want his friends to hear. “and i have said it, baby, you’re just forgetting or somethin’.”
“you have not, i would remember if you have,” you counter, shoving his hand off of you. “i don’t want to argue, dallas, i really don’t—“
“too damn bad, y/n, because you’re sayin’ that i don’t love you, and we both know that ain’t true,”
“then say it.”
“..what?”
“you heard me,” you say. “it has been a whole year of us dating, and you’re never ready to say that you love me,” you raise your voice to get your point across.
“christ, y/n, you’re difficult, huh?” he groans. “it ain’t a big deal, don’t go throwing a tantrum.”
“i’m difficult? dallas, i don’t know if you get how a relationship works, but at this point, you either love me, or you’re done with me. there is no middle ground after this long together.”
“you’re fuckin’ crazy, i know how a relationship works, and i ain’t done with you. don’t go stickin’ words in my mouth,” his voice is raising, too.
“if you’re not done with me, then you love me.” you say, in a desperate attempt to get him to say the three words. you almost want to beg. “it hurts, dallas, that i don’t get that reassurance, that i leave our dates with my words hanging in the air, waiting for a reply,”
he groans. “you know that i do, so what’s the fuckin’ point?”
“you’re unbelievable.”
he scoffs, his voice raising. not quite yelling, but definitely not talking. “holy fuck, you know that i love you, man, so quit bein’ such a bitch!”
the crease in your eyebrow drops as he says that. “don’t call me that,”
“c’mon, man, you’re acting like a fuckin’ lunatic trying to get me to admit somethin’ that i’ve already admitted,” he says, voice still raised. “take a deep breath, maybe get a glass of water, and come back to me once you’re normal again.”
you scoff. “because i’m expressing my feelings, suddenly i’m a lunatic? because i’m not like your old girls, and i actually strive for a healthy relationship, i’m not normal?”
“you’re freakin’ out because i didn’t say it back once, of course i think you’re going crazy.”
“i’m ‘freaking out’ because it’s been a year of ‘thank you’ and ‘i know’ whenever i tell you i love you,”
“you’re being a dumbass, y/n, you know i—“ he cuts himself off, sighing and taking a step back. “fine, man, whatever, you win. go inside and call bucks when you’ve cooled off, i’m goin’ home,”
when he walks past you, the air is thick and unwelcoming. you don’t even bother getting the last word, dreading the fact that he might turn back and lose his shit if you do. he mutters something incoherent under his breath, and walks down the creeky front porch steps, into the dead of night.
˚୨୧⋆。˚ ⋆
of course, you don’t call bucks. why would you? just so buck can tell you that dallas isn’t there, when in reality he just doesn’t want to talk to you? just so suddenly you’re bending to his will, and he’s getting his way once again? you don’t think so.
dallas does this a lot — whenver you two fight, even if it’s a small one, he needs time to cool off. sometimes it’s a couple hours, sometimes it’s a day. it’s never stretched longer, until now. it’s been three torturous days of waiting for a grand gesture, an apology, anything.
the next day at school, you’re walking through the parking lot during your lunch break, talking to cherry valance and marcia about what happened between you and dallas. they say a lot of “told you so” and “that’s dallas for you”, and you can’t say they’re wrong. they warned you about him, and his reputation for being so short-tempered and stubborn.
the sound of an engine roars behind you, and you and your friends turn your heads to see who is making the noise. it’s a 1957 red thunderbird, you recognize it as buck merrill’s.
“that must be dal’s friend, buck,” you whisper to your friends. “but why would buck be here?”
“he’s a greaser, he’s probably like, 5 grades behind and coming here begging for another shot at graduation,” randy, marcia’s boyfriend, teases. you shoot him a glare, and he shuts up.
“i’ll go see whats up,” you say softly, walking over to the now-parked car.
as you walk over and the window rolls down. it is not buck merrill, like you expected, but it’s dallas winston.
“hi,” you say softly, your walls starting to go up but hesitating, wondering if you’re even still fighting.
“hey, sweetie,” he says, not explaining what he’s doing here.
“what’re doing?” you ask him.
he shrugs. “wanted to see you, i dunno.”
“oh,” you say softly. you hoped for an apology, you hoped for flowers, you hoped for chocolate, you hoped for a hug, you hoped for—
“i shouldn’t of gotten all heated when we talked, it wasn’t cool,” he says, interrupting your thoughts. “and you ain’t a bitch.”
“..thanks.” you say after a few seconds of silence. what a shit apology, you think.
he’s staring out into the parking lot instead of you. “and i’m crazy about you, man,” he looks up at you. “you gotta know that, sugar.”
“thank you,” you repeat again, unsure of what to say.
another beat of silence as he swallows in his throat, before speaking and finally looking over at you. “i love ya, doll,”
you should’ve stayed mad, you should’ve not accepted his awful apology, but you cannot hide the smile tugging at your lips. this is all you’ve asked for from him, and he finally has the courage to admit it.
“i love you too, dallas.” you say softly, leaning into the window and giving him a quick kiss on the cheek. “thank you,”
“you gotta stop sayin’ that, y/n,” he teases, playfully pushing you away. “go hang out with your stupid friends, man. i’ll come over tonight and hang.”
you nod, and walk away, looking back at him and seeing a small smile on his face. nothing could ruin this moment.

Klaus Mikaelson x Reader!Soulmate x Elijah Mikaelson PART 10
Word Count- 7.2k
Warnings- Swearing, blood, violence, death, Damon’s ass/Damon BEING an ass, shitty Google translate, spelling mistakes(I'm wayyy too tired to edit this rn)
A/N- some of this is not canon just because I love a character too much and she deserved better in the show.
“Are you just going to keep sulking in here,” I ask from my position in Damon’s doorway.
Damon answers me back with a loud groan mixed with what I believe to be a growl, “Tell me again why you’re here. And why I haven’t killed you yet?”
If I had just met Damon I would be scared of what he just asked me, but after these past weeks of knowing him, I’ve realized most of his threats are half-assed. So I just shrug and walk into his room.
“My mother and brother are away for the week visiting family, leaving me home alone. And, well, I don’t feel like having “he who shall not be named,” come and kill me in my sleep. And you haven’t killed me because you don’t want to. I’ve called you many bad names to your face, and yet I stand here, unharmed."
“Here you stand annoying the hell out of me. Again.”
I roll my eyes and sit on the edge of Damon’s bed. Damon still hasn’t moved from his position under the covers.
“Damon,” I turn over my shoulder to look at him and he lets out yet another groan to acknowledge he’s listening, “I’m going to be honest with you.”
“Nothing new there,” I hear him say under his breath sarcastically.
“You’re kind of embarrassing to watch right now,” I turn to see him fully glaring at me now, “You’re how old? Like five thousand years or something like that? It’s time you grew up.”
“Says the high schooler.”
“Says the man in love with a high schooler,” I bite back which has him shutting up momentarily.
“You don't know anything,” He says as he finally sits up in his bed. His white sheet falling down, revealing his naked chest. I quickly avert my eyes, not because I’m attracted to him but because seeing Damon half-naked would be like seeing my annoying ass distant cousin naked. No, thank you.
“Don’t bullshit me, Demon-spawn,” I point an accusing finger at him resulting in him glaring at me some more.
“I know you have feelings for Elena, everyone and their bloody mothers knows. And as much as I like Stefan, I also don’t think it should be something you need to feel bad for,” I think momentarily and tap my chin in thought, “Well, okay. Maybe a little bad because she’s 17 and you’re like 1,000 and she’s also your little brother’s girlfriend,” I catch Damon’s deadly look and stop rambling, “Moving along…What I’m trying to say is that we can’t control who we catch feelings for. And honestly, Elena’s pretty and nice as hell so I don’t blame you there. But what we can control is how we choose to express those feelings.”
Damon just stares blankly at me and I feel like I’d be better off giving a toddler this speech.
“What you’re doing right now, sulking and getting mad at everyone around you for something that is out of our control isn’t helping anyone. It’s only making things worse. Elena’s my best friend and I know she’s scared out of her mind right now but doesn’t want to say it because it'll cause more stress for the people she loves. What she needs right now is all of us. After tonight is over and Elijah’s elixir brings her back then you can go back to your hissy fits but right now,” I stand up and face him, planting my hands on my hips in a power pose, “You need to get your ass out of bed and get a fucking grip.”
Damon and I hold each other’s glares for a straight minute before he huffs, throws his blanket off of him, and gets out of bed. I have to fight a smirk as I get overly proud of my pep talk.
“I’m really starting to miss when it was just puke coming out of that mouth of yours,” Damon growls as he walks to the bathroom and pulls down his boxers without a second thought. My eyes fly out of my head as I get a full look at Damon’s white ass. I quickly turn around and gag.
“Dude! Seriously, warn a girl!”
---
“I don’t remember you being so…talky,” Damon’s voice yells from over the water of his shower.
I frown as I think about his comment and sit back down on the edge of his bed facing the front door and not the bathroom. Not wanting to get a face full of his behind again, or worse…ugh.
“I…don’t think I’ve ever been talky. There has never been a reason for me to be,” I say back to him not really caring if he hears or not.
A moment later I hear the shower water stop and his footsteps padding around behind me.
“What the hell is that supposed to mean,” Damon says from next to me and I slowly turn hoping he’s at least half decent.
Thankfully, he has covered his behind with jeans and is currently slipping a shirt over his chest.
I think about his question and then shrug my shoulders, “I’ve never really had friends to talk to, and whenever I had tried talking to people they just hadn’t cared. So I never really saw the point in talking.”
Damon stops fixing the buttons on his shirt momentarily to look at me. His eyebrows are drawn together and the look in his eyes isn’t one I think I’ve seen from him before. Something about it almost seems kind of…human. But within another second it’s gone and his lip upturns into a smirk.
“People are a waste of time anyway. The only good thing about them…,” He takes a step closer to me and leans down so he’s in my face, “Is there blood.”
I huff as I stand up and push past him heading towards the door, “And here I thought I could actually have a half-decent conversation with you. My mistake.”
I start walking through the halls toward the living room where Elena, Stefan, and Elijah are. Out of the corner of my eye, I can see Damon catch up to me so we’re walking side by side.
“You’re kind of annoying,” He says and I have to fight the urge to not punch him.
“Gee, thanks,” I go to walk faster but he catches up to me again.
“What I mean is…,” He pauses for a moment trying to find his words, “You may be annoying but that doesn’t mean what you have to say is pointless or something that shouldn’t be heard. Screw anyone who tells you otherwise…or just kill them.”
I look at him with a confused look matching the confused feelings I now have, “Thank you? I think.”
“Don’t mention it,” He leans down and glares at me, “Seriously, I will kill you if you tell anyone what I just said.”
I suck on my teeth and then nod my head, “And there’s the Demon we all know and loathe.”
“Right, back at you, Pukey.”
I watch as Damon’s eyebrows furrow as we get closer to the living room and as we enter he speaks up, “Then why are we letting him break the curse?”
I follow Damon into the living room and see Elena and Stefan sitting together on a sofa and Elijah standing before them. Elijah’s eyes lock onto mine and I acknowledge him by sending him a small smile which he just returns with a nod. Okay, Rude.
“We can kill him today. With Bonnie,” Damon says and I realize we’re talking about him. At the mention of him, I begin to clench my fists as a surge of anger rises through me but stop myself since I don’t feel like accidentally cutting myself in a room of vampires. I take my seat on a loveseat next to Elena, who sends me a warm smile before turning towards Damon.
“No. Bonnie can’t use that much power without dying.”
“I’ll write her a great eulogy,” Damon’s words have me turning in my seat and glaring at him. So much for my speech getting to him.
“It’s not an option Damon,” You tell him, Elena.
Stefan sighs, “Alright, how do we break this curse?”
“Well, the ritual itself is relatively straightforward. The ingredients, so to speak you already know,” Elijah answers.
“The moonstone,” Stefan says.
“A witch will channel the power of the full moon to release the spell that’s bound within the stone. After that Klaus, being both a werewolf and a vampire, will sacrifice one of each.”
“And where do I fit into it,” Elena asks him.
“The final part of the ritual. Klaus must drink the blood of the doppelganger…to the point of your death.”
Elijah’s words have both Stefan and I taking deep breaths.
“And that’s where you come in.”
Elijah goes to the shelf behind him and opens a little wooden box, “This is an elixir that I acquired some 500 years ago for Katerina. It possesses the mystical properties of resuscitation.”
“So I’ll be dead..”
“And then you won’t.”
Damon the grouch speaks up, “That’s your plan? A magical witch potion with no expiration date,” He turns to Elena, “You want to come back to life, what…What about John’s ring?”
“Those rings only work on humans. The doppelganger is a supernatural occurrence. Odds are…the ring won’t work.”
“I’ll take those odds over your elixir. What if it doesn’t work Elena?”
“Then I guess I’ll just be dead.”
Damon shoots his brother a look, but knowing Stefan, he’ll go with whatever Elena wants. Even if he doesn’t agree. Damon realizes this too before shooting another glare at the group before leaving the living room back to where we originally came from.
“Do we know if Klaus has everything he needs to do this? Does he have a werewolf?”
“Klaus has been waiting over a thousand years to break this curse. If he doesn’t already have a werewolf my guess is by tonight, he will.”
—
I watch from my position on the couch as Stefan follows his brother outside. That’s going to be a fun conversation.
Elena approaches Elijah, “You’d think he’d understand why I’m willing to do this.”
“Why are you?”
“I’m the key to breaking the curse. Klaus is here because of me. If I don’t stop him, then he’s gonna hurt people. It’s that simple.”
I frown sadly to myself and fight back the watering that has started in my eyes. This isn’t fair. None of this is.
“You know, there’s a possibility this elixir won’t work. I don't want to mislead you.”
“I know the chance I’m taking.”
The tense atmosphere is broken by a door slamming shut and a woman yelling from the foyer.
“Jenna, Jenna!”
“Get out!”
I quickly rise from my seat and go to follow behind Elena to check on Jenna, but a hand grabs my own, pulling me back.
“Wait here,” Elijah’s stern voice says to me as he drops my hand and follows behind Elena. I watch his retreating figure and shake my head. Who tf does this guy think he’s talking to?
I run towards the foyer and freeze when I see Ric standing there. Or Klaus, I guess. My breathing gets faster and I’m debating on whether to swing on him or pass out.
“Jenna, put the cross-bow down, okay? It’s me.”
Stefan joins us and Elijah comes to stand in front of me, not before shooting me a disapproving look.
“What’s going on,” Elena asks the two adults.
“It’s me, Elena, I swear, okay? He let me go. Klaus let me go,” I frown at Ric’s words and look to Elijah to see if he can tell if Ric is telling the truth or not but his face is completely still.
“Prove it,” Damon who has now joined says.
“Okay, uh, the first night you and I spent together Jeremy walked in right when-”
“Ok! It’s him,” Jenna exclaims as she drops her weapon. Ew. Everyone in the room throws glances at each other before turning back towards Ric.
“Why did he let you go,” Stefan asks.
“He wanted me to deliver a message. The sacrifice happens tonight.”
—-
“Katherine was there,” Ric says from his position on the couch. We all moved back into the living room to keep discussing our plans for tonight.
“She’s under compulsion. Damon snuck her vervain but she can't leave until Klaus tells her she can.”
“Where is Damon,” Elena questions, and I get a bit unnerved. Not knowing where Damon is is not an ideal situation.
“I saw him go upstairs,” Jenna says.
Elena stands up and goes towards his room and I go to follow her but Elijah grabs my upper arm, “I need to speak with you,” I begin to argue back as he pulls me into the next room.
“Dude let go of me,” I hiss at him and he drops my arm and stares blankly at me.
“Do not dude me, Elskan,” Elijah says with that stupid monotone voice of his that makes me want to wrap my hands around his throat.
“You don’t get to tell me what to do Elijah,” I whisper yell to him so the others don’t overhear us, “And stop with that stupid nickname.”
Elijah narrows his eyes at me, “You are making it incredibly hard for me to protect you.”
“Oh I’m sorry,” I roll my eyes sarcastically, “I didn’t realize you actually cared, since you’ve been acting like you don't.”
Elijah’s narrowed eyes morph into ones of confusion, “What are you talking about?”
“Seriously! One second you’re making all these promises to protect me and being all nice and stuff and then the next moment you won’t even acknowledge my existence.”
“It would be impossible for me to not acknowledge your existence, Y/n. There is not a single moment where I am not searching for you. This situation,” He gestures between us, “Is not something I take lightly. And keeping you safe is now my most important mission in this life. So I apologize if I have hurt your feelings whilst doing that.”
I’m frozen as I listen to Elijah and he takes a single step towards me. He reaches his hand up and brushes a stray hair behind my ear.
“You have no idea how long I have waited for you,” His words have me frowning in confusion as he brushes his finger across my cheek, “But, I fear that if I let myself get too close then it will only put you in more danger and I would rather dagger myself before ever letting that happen.”
My chest and my brain don't seem to be working properly as I just stare wide-eyed at the man in front of me. I try to think of something, anything really to say but I can’t seem to get my mouth to form a sentence.
A loud bang comes from upstairs and Elijah gives me one more look before exiting. I feel like I’m on autopilot as I walk towards the noise, catching sight of Ric and Jenna running towards it as well. I make my way up to Damon’s room and gasp as I see Stefan with a very big piece of wood through his stomach. Ric tries to grab Damon but the ladder pushes him off him before walking out of the room.
“Okay, Jenna, downstairs in the basement are some blood bags,” Ric tells Jenna who is standing in front of me, “Go get them, now. Go!”
Jenna leaves as Elena rips the wood out of Stefan. I walk over and kneel next to them as Elena holds and tries to comfort her hurt boyfriend.
“I’m so sorry,” Stefan groans out.
I frown, confused, “Why is he sorry? He’s the one who got stabbed?”
I’m ignored for a moment as Elena shushes Stefan until he passes out and with tearful eyes, she looks over to me, “Damon he…he fed me his blood. Y/n, I don’t want to be a vampire”
'My chest practically caves in on itself as I hear my friend's small sobs and shake my head in denial, “No…no. There has to be another way. There has to be Elena,” I stand up and look at her once more, “You’re not going to be a vampire.”
—
I storm through the halls and down the stairs until I see Damon in the living room pouring himself a glass of whatever alcohol he has on hand. That anger from before rises at the idea of what he just did.
“You selfish bastard,” I storm over to him and I see Elijah try to stop me from the corner of my eye, only to receive my hand in his face. And as Damon turns around to look at me he receives my fist in his face.
Damon hisses as my fist flies across his cheekbone and I fight back tears at the pain in my knuckles. I’ve never thrown a punch before but I didn’t realize it would hurt this much. Jesus.
Damon looks back at me as if my punch did nothing to him, which it probably didn’t and I expect him to charge at me, and I’m assuming Elijah does as well because he moves next to me. But all Damon does is stare at me, raise his glass to his lips, downs it, and then exits the living room.
“You’ve never thrown a punch before have you,” Elijah’s voice has me turning my gaze over to him.
I look at him sheepishly, “Is it that obvious?”
Elijah stares at me and from his face I think he's trying to debate whether to be amused by me or scold me, “A bit, but I applaud you for the effort,” Elijah’s eyes dart towards my hurting hand and he picks it up with his own and inspects it.
“You’ll have some bruising but thankfully there appears to be no breakage.”
I let out a pained hiss as one of his fingers brushed against my middle knuckle. He instantly stops and looks at me.
“I can heal you if you’d like,” He asks me and I remember back to when he healed me the first time. It feels like another lifetime ago.
“I’ll be fine,” I dismiss him and he nods but doesn’t drop my hand. He does reach his other hand up and uses his thumb to wipe a stray tear off my cheek.
“I’m sorry about Elena,” I quickly remember why I punched Damon in the first place and go to question about the elixir but he shakes his head as if he already knows what I’m thinking, “It won’t work any longer. Damon made sure of that when he fed her his blood. When Elena dies she’ll wake up as a vampire."
I shake my head in denial and feel the tears reach my eyes again, “No... Elijah. There has to be another way! Please tell me there’s another way.”
Elijah’s features form to one of sorrow as if he can feel the pain I’m in, “I’m sorry, Elskan. I truly am.”
I shake my head and bite down hard on my lip to try to stop my tears. Elijah reaches up his hand though and frees my bottom lip from my teeth with his thumb.
“Come here,” Elijah says as he pulls me into him and wraps his arms around my body. The smell of something masculine, almost smoky, surrounds me as he rests his chin on my head. After everything that has happened, if I were to die like this in his embrace, I don’t think I would regret it.
—
I wipe the remnants of my smeared mascara as I look at myself in my car mirror. After Elijah left the Salvatore’s saying he had some loose ends to clean up before tonight and to not get myself into any more trouble, I went to check on Elena.
She hugged me for about ten minutes straight and I just rubbed her back as she cried into my shoulder. And I may or may not have cried along with her, feeling heartbroken for my friend.
Elena and Stefan then left together to go spend her last day as a human together, which is as bittersweet as it is heartbreaking. And after bidding Jenna and Ric a goodbye I found myself driving to the Mystic Grill. That’s why I am now sitting in it’s parking lot trying to collect myself and trying to keep myself busy for what is to happen tonight.
I open my car door and hold my bruised hand tentatively as I push through the front door to the Grill. I had seen a “Help Wanted,” sign here the other day and if I hopefully survive the night I’ll need a job for the summer. Not being a trust fund baby really sucks ass sometimes.
Matt Donovan sends me a warm smile as I walk past him. I'd never really talked to the guy other than the few times in class where he’d ask to borrow a pencil or if I could help him with some math equation, but he always seemed sweet. Unlike the stupid jock stereotype, I’ve gotten used to seeing in this town. After being told by Elena what happened to his sister and that now he lives by himself as a 17-year-old because his mom’s a deadbeat, I feel bad for the guy.
I let out a low groan as I stop my walk towards the bar which is currently occupied by the demon overlord himself. I debate to myself if I should just turn around, but a hand on my shoulder shocks me.
Ric stands there with his hands raised up in apology, “My bad Y/N. Didn’t mean to scare you. Just wanted to check on you and see how you’re doing.”
I look at Ric and sigh, “I’m just glad you’re you again.”
Ric nods his head in agreement, “Ya, me too. I didn’t hurt you while I was Klaus right?”
I shake my head, “No Ric, and even if you did it wouldn’t have been your fault. You had no control over yourself.”
Ric sends me a warm smile and nods, “I feel kind of violated, to be honest.”
I snort at his joke, “I don’t blame you.”
“I need a drink,” Ric says as he walks with me up towards the bar and my knuckles start to burn as I stare at the hair on the back of Demon’s head.
“I’ll have the same as him,” Ric says to the waiter as he sits on Damon’s right and I sit down on his left. The waiter then looks at me for my drink order, “A Shirley Temple, please. And a job application?”
The waiter, a half-decent-looking man, smirks as he pulls out a pad of papers from behind the bar and hands them to me before going back to making drinks.
“Job searching, Pukey,” Damon asks from beside me and I stare forward not looking at him.
“Ric,” I call to him and he turns to look at me, “If Damon’s here who do you think is guarding the gates of hell?”
Rics snorts out a deep laugh and I can see Damon scowling from beside me. The waiter comes back and gives Ric his bourbon and me my Shirley Temple. I accidentally grab it with my injured hand and try to cover the hiss I let out, with a cough.
“How’s your hand,” Damon asks from next to me. I’m surprised that his voice doesn’t sound completely sarcastic.
I turn and glare at him, “How’s your face?”
Damon sends me a smirk and gestures to his unmarked face, “Perfect.”
I roll my eyes and take a sip of my Shirley Temple ignoring whatever the two men next to me are talking about. That is until a voice that has my heart doing a fucking backflip in my chest calls from behind us.
“Gentlemen? Why so glum,” A deep British voice asks and I could’ve sworn goosebumps went up my arms at the sound. What the fuck?
All three of us turn to match the voice to the face and…Holy shit.
A tall dark-blond man stands about a foot length from me. At this distance, I can see the different shades of blue in his eyes and the small freckles that decorate his perfect nose.
I hear Damon groan from behind me and I’m not sure why as I’m too busy ogling the pretty man before me.
“Klaus, I presume.”
I blink. And then I blink again. And then once more as I’m frozen staring at Klaus. The Shirley Temple in my hands starts to shake as I can’t take my eyes off the man.
“In the flesh. Thanks for the loner, mate,” Klaus smirks at Ric and if I wasn’t in total shock right now I’d defend him. But the man I’ve thought of killing for the past week is standing right in front of me and I was counting how many fucking freckles I could see on his goddamned nose. There’s thirteen.
Shut tf up Y/n?!
Klaus hasn’t looked my way once and although I should be glad about that a part of my lower stomach drops at the fact.
Damon stands from his seat and goes to face the man, “Any reason you stopped by to say hi?”
“I’m told you and your brother fancy my doppelganger. Just thought I’d remind you not to do anything you’ll regret,” Klaus’ warning doesn’t seem to sway Damon as the ladder lets out a laugh.
“Thanks for the advice. I don’t supposed I could talk you into a postponement by any chance, huh?”
Klaus lets out a chuckle and I swear my heart just skipped a beat. What the fuck Y/n?!?!??
“You are kidding,” Klaus asks and then turns to Ric, “He is kidding, right?”
“No, not really.”
“I mean, come on, what’s one month in the whole grand scheme of things,” Damon asks and I realize that he’s doing this because he doesn’t want Elena to die with vampire blood in her system.
“Ya, I mean one month is like,” I pretend to count on my fingers, “Like thirty days. I don’t see why you can’t wait that long. You’ve already waited over a thousand years, what’s thirty days?”
I ask the man and this finally has Klaus acknowledging my presence. But honestly, from the way he’s looking at me, I wish I would’ve kept quiet. His eyebrows are drawn together and his lips curve upwards into what I hope isn’t a snarl. Damon must’ve noticed the look too because he moves in front of me blocking me from Klaus’ vision and him from mine.
“Let me be clear,” I hear Klaus’ deep voice say, “I have my vampire, I have my werewolf. I have everything I need. The ritual will happen tonight. So if you want to live to see tomorrow don’t screw it up.”
I catch sight of Klaus’ back as he strolls away.
“Would I be a bad person to say I kind of hope his werewolf was the Jules’ chick,” I see Ric shoot me an “Are you serious” look and I shrug, “Hey, she was the one who tortured me. I still got the little knife scare on my leg to prove it.”
Damon doesn’t say anything as he sits back down and sighs.
“You’re gonna screw it up, aren’t you?”
“You think if I took his werewolf out of the equation she might…get over the fact that I tried to turn her into a vampire?”
“Nope,” I say popping the p.
“I think it won’t matter, because you’ll be dead.”
“But without the werewolf he can’t preform the ritual tonight which means I would have bought her one month before the next full moon.”
Ric shakes his head, “But you’ll still be dead.”
Damon leans into him, “Are you gonna help me or what?”
Ric looks at him for a moment, “What do you want me to do?”
I slurp up the rest of my drink, throw a five onto the counter, and jump up as the two men next to me watch me wearily.
“Alright gentlemen, dream team time!”
Ric raises an eyebrow while Damon shoots me a look of disgust, “I don’t know what the hell that was, but you’re not coming along.”
I frown as I grab my application and follow behind the two men, “Why the hell not? I want to help.”
Damon whips around to me, “Look kid, not happening. There’s already too much shit going down and I can’t be babysitting you, making sure you don’t get killed on my watch. So go back home and we’ll see you tonight. Capiche?”
Damon turns back around and walks to his car. Ric sends me one last smile and a shrug of his shoulders before following behind. I watch the two men drive off and I sigh as I stand in the middle of the parking lot. Anger and sadness building in me, when I realize just how useless I truly am.
—
I try to give Elijah a smile as he opens the SUV door for me. But with the mood I’m in I think the smile comes out more like a frown than anything else. Elijah must notice this too as he reaches his hand out for me to take. I debate it for a moment, 1. Not being a big fan of PDA, and 2. Stefan and Ric are with us and I don’t want them to be angry with me. But then I remember that my best friend is going to die tonight so a little PDA isn’t that huge in the grand scheme of things.
Elijah seems elated as I place my hand in his and he guides Stefan and I through the woods toward the creepy ass witch house where Bonnie, Jeremy, and Ric are.
“The sacrifice is completed in stages as the full moon sets,” Elijah explains to us. I feel his hand squeeze mine in comfort and I squeeze his back, “First the werewolf is killed, then the vampire’ and finally the doppelganger. Once Elena dies, the curse will be broken. Klaus will become a hybrid.”
Stefan comes to walk next to us. His eyes go down to Elijah and I’s intertwined hands briefly before looking back up to me. When I send him a weary smile, he sends me a small one in return calming down my nerves.
“So when do we attack,” Ric asks from behind us.
“Elena’s death will activate his dormant werewolf side. He’ll be vulnerable during the transformation. That’s when Bonnie comes in.”
“And you’re sure Bonnie will survive this,” Stefan asks and I’m thankful at least one of the Salvatore brothers has a heart.
“If she can deliver him to the brink of death I’ll finish the job myself.”
Stefan and Ric nod.
“Could I talk to Elijah for a moment,” I ask the two men who share a look before nodding and moving towards the house.
Elijah turns towards me, “What is wrong, Elskan?”
“Are you going to be able to do it?”
Elijah frowns and shakes his head, “What do you mean?”
“Elijah you’re going to be killing your brother. I know siblings are a pain in the ass,” I think back to Theo and thank whatever higher being is out there that he left town this week, “but even when you hate them…you still love them. I’m not judging you for what you have to do. I’m just asking, are you ready for what you’re about to do?”
Elijah’s face is solemn as he processes what I asked, “Klaus wasn’t my only sibling,” I frown as he continues, “There once was a time when we were all together. But Klaus ruined that when he dumped their bodies in the middle of the Pacific.”
I let out a strangled gasp at Elijah’s confession. His pain evident on his face.
“Elijah…I didn’t know. Why didn’t you tell me?”
Elijah steps forward and holds the side of my face with his free hand, “You’re so good. So…pure. I didn’t want to strangle out the light you have inside you with my demons.”
“Elijah, you’re not the only one with skeletons in their closet. Trust me. But I want you to be honest with me. I need you to be. If this,” I gesture between us, “whatever this is. Is going to work. I’d never judge you. I know sometimes I can be a lot but that doesn’t mean I don’t anything but happiness for you. I don’t know what this means but you make me feel something I’d never felt with another human being.”
Elijah stares at me and something in his eyes tugs at my chest, “What is that?”
“Safe. You make me feel safe, Elijah. And I know I’m not some supernatural immortal and I can’t throw a punch to save my life. But, I want to make you feel that way too. However, I can.”
I start to get embarrassed as Elijah stares at me silently and I really wish I would’ve just kept my mouth closed.
“ᛁ ᚹᚨᛚᛚ ᛚᛟᚡᛖ ᛇᚢ ᚢᚾᛏᛁᛚ ᚦᛖ ᛋᚢᚾ ᛖᛗᛈᛚᛟᛞᛖᛋ, ᚦᛖ ᛟᚲᛖᚨᚾᛋ ᛞᚱᛁ ᚢᛈ, ᚺᚢᛗᚨᚾ ᛚᛁᚠᛖ ᚺᚨᛋ ᛚᛟᚾᚷ ᛋᛖᚾᚲᛖ ᚷᛟᚾᛖ ᚨᚾᛞ ᛁ ᚨᛗ ᚾᛟᛏᚺᛁᚾᚷ ᛒᚢᛏ ᛗᚣ ᛋᛟᚢᛚ. ᛒᚢᛏ ᛖᚡᛖᚾ ᛏᚺᛖᚾ ᛁ ᚹᛁᛚᛚ ᛋᛏᛁᛚᛚ ᛒᛖᛚᛟᚾᚷ ᛏᛟ ᚢ. ᛖᚡᛖᚱᚢᛏᚦᛁᚾᚷ ᛁ ᚨᛗ ᛁᛊ ᚢ,” Elijah says in some old language I can’t place.
“What exactly did you just say to me,” I ask, expecting the worst.
Elijah smiles and places a kiss on my temple, “I feel safe with you as well, Elskan.”
“I’m going now,” Stefan interrupts us and I move away from Elijah shocked.
The sense of warmth and peace I just had completely washed away as soon as those words left Stefan’s mouth.
“You should get inside Y/N. Bonnie needs you,” Stefan says to me making me frown. But I nod as I walk through the threshold of the house. Elijah follows me as I stand next to Ric. After a moment Bonnie and Damon walk up the basement stairs and out the front door. I frown as Ric and I follow them and Elijah squeezes my hand once more before dropping it as he passes through the threshold. Ric and I are pushed back though.
“What the hell?”
Ric yells from next to me, “Bonnie! What is this?”
Bonnie turns back towards us, “I can’t put anyone else at risk. I’m sorry.”
“You can’t do this! What if he goes after Jenna,” Ric asks angry.
“Jenna safe locked in at the Salvatore’s.”
“Damon?”
Damon sends us a look, “Sorry buddy. She’s right.”
I look to Elijah for help but from the look on his face he doesn’t seem surprised.
“You knew.”
Elijah turns to me one last time, “I meant what I said about protecting you. If I have to kill my brother to do that, I will. I’m sorry, Elskan. I will see you soon.”
I watch silently, as he turns his back on me and disappears into the woods. So much for trust.
—-
I watch as my history teacher paces in front of me. Jeremy’s unconscious body lay on the couch next to me and Elena's estranged bald father who looks like Charlie Brown watches us wearily. If you had told me I’d be in this situation a month ago I would’ve called you crazy and set up an appointment for you with my therapist mother. But here I am. Yippee.
I stand up, and both of the grown men watch me, “Just using the bathroom. Wait…Does this place even have a bathroom,” I ask but groan when I get no answer. I’m about to make my way out of the room when a piercing pain slices through my chest.
It only takes one scream from my lips before Ric is at my side. His mouth is moving but the sheer pain I’m experiencing makes it so I can’t process his words. I watch with teary eyes and sobs coming out of my mouth as Ric lifts his hand from my chest and his eyes widen. The crimson liquid coating his hand is the last thing I see before the world goes black.
—
3rd Person POV-
Bonnie screams out her spell as she crushes Klaus’s body. Fire burns around them as the once powerful Original lay in agonising pain. From the shadows, Elijah stalks towards his younger brother.
Elijah stands above him. A mask of anger covers his face as he leans down to stare at the man he once called a brother and a friend.
“Elijah?”
Klaus stares up at the man he once saw as his protector, and for the first time in centuries, Klaus feels true fear.
“Hello, brother.”
Stefan and Bonnie watch from afar as Elijah plunges his arm into his brother’s chest. Wrapping his hand around his still-beating heart.
“In the name of our family…Niklaus…”
“I didn’t bury them at sea,” Klaus’ desperate voice halts Elijah momentarily before shaking off what he believes to be a trick.
“I know about Y/n,” Those four words have Elijah pausing, “I know what she is to you. And I know she's the same to me.”
The hand that was once clenched around Klaus’ heart slacks as Elijah stares at his brother in horror.
“You’re lying,” Elijah snarls.
Klaus shakes his head, “I wish I was, brother. But I’m not. And if you kill me what do you think will happen to her. Are you really going to take that risk?”
Elijah’s once cool face breaks and turns into one of horror as he looks at his hand that is in his brother’s chest.
Stefan noticing this lapse of judgement speaks up, “Elijah, don’t listen to him.”
“Elijah,” Klaus says, “Think of her.”
“Do it and I’ll take you both out,” The Bennet witch threatens.
Elijah looks up to her, “You’ll die.”
“I don’t care.”
Stefan and Bonnie watch in horror as Elijah speeds himself and his brother out of the flames and into the night, leaving only silence and heartbreak.
—
“Why are we going to this again,” My brother asks from the hallway outside my room as I fix my black dress in my mirror. My hands freeze for a moment as they land on the spot on my chest that was bleeding just the night before.
-Flashback-
I woke with a gasp and before I could get a second to breathe I felt someone grasp my shoulders into a hug.
“You’ve really got to stop freaking me out like this,” A soft voice says into my ear.
I pull back and my eyes widen to see Elena with glossy eyes staring back at me.
I shake my head confused, “What happened? Did the ritual happen? Who died? Are you a…,” I pause before finishing my last question.
Elena sends me a smile and shakes her head, “They found another way.”
I feel a smile break out onto my face and I go to sit up to hug her but a sharp pain in my chest stops me.
“Don’t move ok. Just lay still,” Elena coaxes me back onto the coach I’m lying on.
“What happened?”
-End of Flashback-
In Elena and Ric’s spark notes version of the night, about 20 minutes after Stefan, Bonnie, and, Elijah left for the ritual I fell down to the ground in pain, screaming and yelling, and when Ric went to check on me I had blood spilling from my chest. Right above where my heart is. Ric said there was so much blood he couldn’t find where it was coming from but after holding pressure on it for another ten minutes the bleeding had stopped and when he moved his hands from my chest I had no wounds that showed I had been wounded.
Alaric told me he was surprised that I was still breathing after losing the blood that I did. He also told me that while I was unconscious he found Damon slipping me some of my blood. And if I wasn’t as sore as I was I’d have bitched him out. I’ll just put that on the back burner for now. As well as figuring out what the hell is wrong with me. Bonnie said she couldn’t feel any spells or curses on me so at least that’s a plus. I guess. Also, I haven’t seen Elijah in over a day. Honestly, I don’t know if I could face him right now anyway. I’m pissed that he betrayed us, but there’s a part of me that is happy he didn’t kill his brother. A part I’m not telling the public because right now I’m off to a funeral for Elena’s dad who did die.
Elena told me he had Bonnie do some spell that switched his life for hers. And as much as I disliked the guy, I got to give it to him he showed up in the end. RIP Charlie Brown.
“We’re going because Elena’s my friend and her dad died, Theo. Try to not be an asshole for the afternoon please,” I say as I meet my brother at the front door of our house. My mother and he came back early last night because she had to get home for some work thing. Typical. But that also means I get to be with Theo for the day and after almost dying yesterday, I realized that I wouldn’t have gotten the chance to say goodbye to him, and today could’ve been my funeral he’d be going to. A chill runs down my spine at the thought and I fight back a set of tears.
“Okay, I promise. I’m sorry,” Theo says as he notices a tear fall down my face.
I smile at my little brother and pull him into a hug.
“I knew you missed me,” I can hear the smirk in his voice as I laugh into his suit jacket.
“Ya, whatever loser let’s go.”
—
I watch with tear-filled eyes as Elena places a rose on her biological father’s grave and then walks over to her parent's matching graves and places roses on them. Theo stands next to me with a solemn expression on his face, Jeremy is next to him, Bonnie, Caroline, and Tyler stand behind us, and Jenna is on my left as she holds Ric’s hand. I turn to look over my shoulder and I catch Damon’s eye as he stands against a tree. And for the first time ever I almost swore he smiled at me. Damn, maybe he’s dying too.
—
“I’ll be in the car,” Theo says to me and begins to walk away but not before bringing Jeremy in for a bro hug. I watch as my brother safely gets to the car and then I begin to walk over to Elena but see her already crowded with our friends. My gaze goes towards Damon who stands facing the graveyard and I frown.
“I have a bone to pick with you. You can’t just go and put blood into people’s mouths while they’re-” I say as I approach him.
“I’m happy you’re ok, Y/N.”
Damon’s interruption and the sincerity in his voice make me halt as I approach him.
“Wait…I think I’m hallucinating because I could’ve sworn you just called me by my actual name,” I walk up to him and jokingly smirk, “You dying or something?”
“Tyler Lockwood bit me.”
Oh. Fuck.

R.C / HEADCANNONS
pairings: Rafe Cameron x fem!reader
summary: what it would be like to date THE Rafe Cameron.
a/n: first ever written work so sorry if it isn’t great! please give me feedback of what i could do better in the future. also sarah and rafe are actually quite close in this.
warnings: NOT PROOFREAD, sorry if there’s errors. a bit of nsfw at the end. mentions of fighting and implied towards death but only for a little bit and not at all descriptive. let me know if there should be any others!
SFW:
- he would spoil you so much.
- he sees your shein wishlist? he’s buying it all.
- you grab a shirt to look at it when shopping with him? he’s grabbing it in your size and even checking for it in other colours.
- you could even so much as be glancing around a shop and your eyes linger a little too long on one item and he’s getting it for you.
- even when you tell him you feel bad having him spend this much money on you he’ll just laugh and say “my sweet girl deserves everything.”
- he’d drop everything for you if you needed him.
- you call him crying? he could be in the middle of an important deal and he’s leaving to come get you.
- he’d fight, and probably kill, for you.
- if a guys getting a little too close at a party and making you uncomfortable Rafe is there immediately.
- he’d pull the guy away from you and just start laying punches after punches into his face until someone just drags the other guy out of the party so it doesn’t get too out of hands.
- then he’d hug you and leave kisses on your forehead while asking if you wanna leave.
- you’d always be at his house.
- which means you’d see Wheezie a lot and she loves you and is always asking you to do things with her.
- it kind of annoys Rafe because he wants to spend every second with you and Wheezie’s ruining that.
- but he also finds it really sweet.
- you’d also be best friends with Sarah.
- as soon as her brother announced he actually is with someone and not just having flings with anyone and everyone she was so excited.
- Sarah knew you had to be amazing to make her brother settle down.
- and you and her got along instantly.
- he’d actually be very affectionate.
- always having his hands on you in one way or another.
- also because he’s very jealous he’d need everyone to know you’re his and his only.
- but he’d always reassure you, especially when overthinking.
- you’d catch him staring at you and you’d ask why, thinking maybe you have something on your face or you look bad but he’d just say, “can’t i look at my gorgeous girlfriend?”
- someone would make a comment about you two saying they’re surprised someone like you could pull someone like Rafe and he’d be furious.
- he’d deal with them and then immediately pick you up and you guys would be leaving.
- as soon as you two were alone he’d reassure you by saying something like “you’re perfect baby, they’re just jealous they don’t have what we have.”

NSFW:
- as mentioned earlier, he gets very jealous.
- and he gets jealous easily.
- so if he sees a guy checking you out while you’re in public he grabs you and puts his hands on your ass while making out with you so the boy knows your Rafe’s.
- he’d then take you home to remind you you’re his.
- or even just in the car if he really couldn’t wait.
- “you’re mine. you know that right?”
- “say it baby, say you’re only mine.”
- knowing damn well you couldn’t talk when he was thrusting into you like that.
- but you had to try anyway for him.
- he’d be big on hickeys.
- he’d like marking you so everyone knows, you are his, and he’d love when you do the same.
- if you still had your v card he’d make sure to be really nice and gentle the first few times and slowly start getting tougher and introducing you to new things.
- always down for a quickie, it doesn’t matter where you are.
- he’d seriously just love you unconditionally and everyone knows he’s whipped for you.

heyy, may i ask for a satoruxreader where its readers birthday and gojo and megumi are tryna bake a cake for reader? (ofc gojo has a backup cake that he bought just incase anything goes wrong cuz ofc its gojo what do you expect)
kind — gojo satoru x f!reader
a/n: what do you guys do when people start singing happy bday? I just smile until my cheeks hurt 🥲 anyways this is set when megumi was still a kid
"megumi, wake up!" satoru yells as he slams the door of the boy's room open. naturally, he is met with one ruthless glare, but he rapidly tries to save himself, "before you get mad, look at the date!"
the boy grumbles before getting up and checking the calendar. his eyes widen at the 'y/n's birthday' written under the date. quickly, he scrambles to his feet and starts pulling satoru downstairs and towards the entrance.
"where are we going?" satoru inquires the rushing megumi.
megumi pauses then looks at him, confused and wondering just why is this guy so stupid, "to get the cake obviously."
satoru laughs loudly and starts shaking his head, "megumi, megumi, megumi…we are going to bake the cake ourselves!"
the boy in question pales at the suggestion and looks at his sister's room in hopes of her waking up and rescuing him. however, the girl does not get the telepathic waves her brother is sending and is still soundly asleep.
so megumi is then dragged by one very excited gojo satoru. satoru eagerly wears his apron—one that has a very proud catoru on it—then he helps megumi put his own. megumi’s apron has a chibi drawing of his divine dogs and no matter how much he denies it, it’s obvious that he likes it.
while satoru gets the ingredients, megumi is laying out the rules for today’s baking mission. satoru does glare at him every now and then but he can’t exactly complain. his experiences with baking are disasters that can't be ignored.
so naturally, the little boy was in charge of the measurements cause god forbid satoru does it.
“satoru, how the hell did you mess that up?!”
“y/n, it said two spoons!”
“TABLE SPOONS NOT TWO SPOONS FROM A FREAKING SPATULA, YOU SUGAR OBSSESSED—“
so no, satoru shall never touch something related to measurements. the both of them stand in front of the ingredients, determination radiating off of them.
satoru takes hold of the recipe and starts reading, “we need a cup of white sugar!”
nodding, megumi swiftly gets the cup and hands it to satoru.
satoru pours it in the bowl and megumi has to stop him from ‘taste-testing’. from there on, they start working in (partial) harmony—fighting every now and then with megumi almost losing his marbles over the supposed adult trying to eat something every minute.
after a bit, they are finally done with the dry ingredients, each of them sporting a handful of flour on his hair. megumi glares up at satoru, “you ruined my hair.”
“now you will look more like me and people won’t think that I kidnapped you!” satoru beams but megumi easily ignores him.
said boy grumbles and starts padding away to get the wet ingredients, doing his best to gather them in his arms and delivering them in one trip. satoru simply watches him with a little grin before asking, “say, what do you think of y/n?”
after putting the ingredients on the counter, megumi looks up at satoru, confused, “why do you ask?”
“I don’t know. I mean it’s obvious you like her more than me,” satoru fake sniffles—in megumi’s eyes it’s asking to be punched but oh well, “but, I want to hear you say it.”
satoru doesn’t expect him to answer so he doesn’t question any further.
satoru starts pouring the wet ingredients together. he starts humming a soft tune, your favorite song, and finally combining the ingredients together. he then hands megumi the bowl for him to mix the batter.
the boy silently does it. and they are left to bask in the silence, before megumi finally speaks up, “I think she is nice…probably one of the kindest people I have met.”
satoru smiles at him then laughs lightly, patting the boy’s head, “that’s good.”
when megumi is done with the mixing, he—with the help of gojo—pours the batter in the baking pan. megumi’s face is troubled for a moment before he looks at satoru, “you’re going to marry her, right?”
proudly, satoru nods, “was planning on doing it even before your little grumpy-self showed up.”
megumi watches satoru put the baking pan in the oven with ease. satoru then dusts his hands and megumi glares at him, “break her heart and I will fight you.”
satoru grins, frame towering over the boy, “you think you can win?”
the boy nods up at the white-haired man and gets into a fighting stance almost immediately, summoning his divine dogs. satoru quirks a brow and he seems like he is going to fight megumi as well, but, instead, he bends down to ruffle the boy’s hair.
normally, he would instantly swat his hand away, but right now, it catches megumi by surprise and he looks at satoru wide-eyed.
“you don’t have to worry about me breaking her heart.”
reluctantly, megumi looks down and mutters a small ‘good’.
after a long while, they hear your voice, “I am home!”
“Y/N!!!!!” your boyfriend screams the moment you step in. he tackles you into a very big hug and starts peppering your face in kisses, “how was your day?”
“it was okay,” you pat his head then you look at the boy, “hey, megumi! how’re you?”
megumi nods with a small smile and you chuckle before noticing what he is wearing, “what’s with the aprons, you guys?”
satoru, who hasn’t stopped kissing your cheek since you entered, replies excitedly, “we were trying cook something!”
you sweatdrop and nervously look at your boyfriend, “…and how did that turn out?”
“hey!” he huffs, “you need to have some faith in my cooking skills!”
“satoru, last time I did that you—“
“what’s that burning smell?” a sleepy tsumiki mumbles as she finally gets out of her room.
megumi and satoru share a look before satoru darts to the kitchen screaming about his masterpiece. you and the kids follow suit. when you enter, you find satoru on his knees—devastated and probably about to start act two of his ‘I am great cook’—with a very burnt cake in his hands.
tsumiki goes to pat the sad cook’s back while megumi grumbles, “I shouldn’t have unrealistic expectations anymore.”
you chuckle at the scene unfolding in front of you. however, you already find yourself walking towards satoru. he quickly throws himself into your embrace. rolling your eyes, you still rub his back to comfort him about his deceased cake.
what you don’t notice is satoru winking at megumi who gets the cue to close the lights.
you look around in the now dark room, “did the lights go out again?—“
satoru disappears from your arms and you hear rustling and whispers. however, it quickly quiets down and when the lights are back on, you’re met with quite the sight.
satoru, megumi, and tsumiki are all wearing birthday party hats. there is also a very humongous cake on the counter.
the cake has a miniature version of the four of you. mini megumi is noticeably grumpy with mini tsumiki having the sweetest smile on her face—just like the real one. mini satoru is latching onto your mini version who looks done with everything around her.
there are also towers of gifts distributed in the entire room.
but you barely have time to focus on them any further before satoru eagerly blows a birthday whistle and screaming out, “on my mark—three, two, one, go! happy birthday to you!”
the kids sing along—though megumi does it a little shyly.
overwhelmed, your eyes start to tear up and satoru’s feet naturally take him to you. his arm is around your waist as he pulls you close and continues singing for you.
megumi also makes his way to stand beside you with tsumiki tagging along. you lock eyes with satoru who smiles tenderly at you, singing, “happy birthday, dear y/n,” he presses a kiss right under your eye while wiping your tears, “happy birthday, y/n.”
“WOHOOO!” satoru loudly cheers and picks you up, twirling you around making you laugh. when he sets you down, he presses one loud smooch to your cheek once again.
tsumiki giggles before she quips, “blow the candle, y/n!”
your head snaps towards satoru who is already smirking at you. you narrow your eyes, “don’t you even dare. it’s my birthday!”
“really now?” he tilts his head before easily throwing you over his shoulder and quickly blowing out all the candles, ignoring your nonstop hitting of his back. he then starts spinning around and his laughter fills the room.
“SATORU, YOU’RE GOING TO DROP ME! STOP!”
“NEVERRRRR!”
meanwhile, megumi and tsumiki are left sighing at the scene in front of them.

This Week in BL - I Still On1y Care About...
Organized, in each category, with ones I'm enjoying most at the top.
Sept 2024 Week 1
Ongoing Series - Thai
Monster Next Door (Thai Thurs Gaga ) eps 7 of 12 - Deeeelightful. They are so damn cute + a nice kiss! The rise of the green flag semes continues. I like it when Diew flirts and shows that he does have some experience in a relationship, and he can/will flex his power. Props to God for being a man who remembers to TAKE HIS DRINK with him.
Addicted Heroin (Thai Tues WeTV) ep 4 of 10 - Yep I still like it and all its toxicity. It’s fun to see how closely it follows the original. Now I really can’t wait to see how this one ends. Since this time around we get an actual ending.
Battle of the Writers (Sun YT) ep 6 of 12 - How did they know that what I wanted more than anything was a side couple = spoiled prince + demon lord? How clever they are to give them to me. Meanwhile, in a shocking twist, the leads have known each other since childhood. Because why be original?
I Saw You in My Dream (Weds Gaga) ep 8 of 12 - Oh it’s very cute. I love Ing. I love that Ai was honest with his bestie. Best friend's older brother trope is a go! Also good kisses all round.
Kidnap (Fri YT) ep 1 of 12 - Ohm has his shirt off less than 5 min in. I guess GMMTV is learning what we want. My boy Title is the creep character again. I’m assuming that’s why GMMTV brought him on board at this juncture. Sigh. New boy, Q, looks like Mek’s younger brother. Ultimately? I'm not convinced on this one. It is doing what it says on the tin, but nothing more than that. I’m not wild about it, but I will keep watching.
The Trainee (Sun YT) ep 10 of 12 - The more OffGun BLs, the more time they spend communicating as characters in those BLs. It’s kind of charming. They've become the pair that advocates for communication in relationships. I like it as evolution for their brand. Flirting via the printer was very fun. Especially as the Thai script is so beautiful.
Live in Love (Sun Gaga) ep 1 of 5 - I guess this is a lockdown narrative? Odd choice. A lot of familiar faces but from more minor rolls. Is this from the Destiny Seeker people? It feels like that. It’s a bigger cast than I was expecting, and a sort of classic university BL of the kind star Hunter produces. Or the end of love people. Pretty classic Thai pulp stuff. I’m mildly enjoying it. Hali is too hot to be the dorky second lead. Nice to see Boat back on my screen. However, it is… what’s the word I am looking for? Oh yes. Boring. Plus singing.
Ongoing Series - Not Thai
The On1y One (Taiwan Thurs Gaga) eps 5-6 of 12 - I entirely lost my mind over this show this week. Fuck me it's so good. The delicacy sends me. I keep expecting it to be clumsy and then is just isn't - it's so subtle and it demands we pay such close attention. I feel like I'm holding my breath the whole time I'm watching.
Cliff's notes on these 2 eps as follows:
The pure unadulterated tsundere of it all.
The awesome angst, it aches.
The series of repercussions after the fight was pacing genius.
The brilliant juxtaposition of "the kid who self isolates too easily" versus "the one who has been forced into isolation" meets both of them being smart enough to know why they react out of hurt, but neither can stop doing it.
Baby’s reaction to learning he’s going to be left behind = to instantly make plans to do the leaving in the future hurts my heart in the best possible way.
"Maybe what we call eternity is just persistence."
Maybe one boy simply deciding to be another boy's rock is romance.
Production better nail the second half of this show! It better be the world against them from here on out or the audience is gonna riot.
And by "audience" I mean me.
Sugar Dog Life (Japan Sun grey) ep 5 of 10 - Oh noes! Poor baby boy!!! My heart hurts. But also gah so cute and next week they shack up together! Hooray!
I Hear the Sunspot AKA Hidamari ga Kikoeru (Japan Weds Gaga) ep 11 - too much time spent on the girl again. I don’t need excuses for why she’s a bitch. So can we talk about Taichi instead? It’s such a good characterization, this boy who understands everything about other people but doesn’t notice anything about himself, including his own abilities of observation. The person who is special never realizes how special they are, I guess. The soundscapes are so good with this show. The moments where prod decided to be silent are so vital and so pivotal and used with such delicacy and strategy, it’s truly audio magic manipulation.
First Note Of Love (Taiwan Mon Gaga) eps 7-8 of 12 - I loved how Orca just jumped on the stage. What a great side couple. CHARMED I TELL YOU. Orca was all… singing? Naw. I came back to fuck the manager's brains out. Anything less than that is unacceptable.
Takara's Treasure AKA Takara No Vidro (Japan Mon Gaga) ep 10 fin - Essentially this was a growth story for Takara and an exercise in patience while the two of them learned each other’s quirks and languages. It was also an exercise in patience for me... who doesn’t like the power differential of a weaker younger character having to do all the pursuing while constantly feeling like he is inferior to the older popular hot character. I know this was a BL that was definitely for some people, since plenty liked it way more than I did, but I didn’t like it very much even though there’s nothing objectively wrong with it. It simply wasn’t to my personal taste. 7/10
Seoul Blues (Korea Fri? YouTube) ep 5-6 of 8 - Enter an ex or something? Well he certainly has a type. Bah. This whole series seems to be mainly about cheating. It’s very annoying because they are all so pretty.
Happy of the End (Japan Tues Gaga) - Based on a manga, longer than usual run time. A boy is disowned for being gay, dumped by his boyfriend, and ends up in a dysfunctional co-dependant relationship with his would-be kidnapper. We were due for another messy JBL. Messy gay pain here we go.
Oh it’s exactly what I expected. Do I like it? No I do not. And ya know what? There is plenty airing. I have a bad feeling about this one. DNF
It's airing but...
4 Minutes (Sat Gaga) eps 1-6 of 8 - Gaga picked this one up so we can watch it there. I'm waiting until the end, it seems angsty and confusing and full of awful people being awful. But also... high heat and I'm shallow. So we shall see which devil wins (and how it ends).
The Hidden Moon (Sat ????) ep 1 of 10 - This is a supernatural romance (my ghost boyfriend trope) ‘เดือนพราง’ by Violet Rain (I Feel You Linger)... A Bangkok writer is hired to write an article about an old mansion in Chiang Mai which is being converted into a café. He gets into an accident and nearly dies on his way there. After that, he sees the ghosts of people who died at the mansion, one boy catches his attention. Was substantially recast. Couldn't find it. Didn't really look.
In case you missed it
Meet You at the Blossom (China) - I'm eating crow, binging the fucker, and live blogging. It's just taking me some time. This isn't really a bingable show, not for me anyway. It's A LOT to take all at once. No new one this week.
Next Week Looks Like This:
Plus:
9/9 Jack & Joker (Thai Mon IQIYI) 12 eps? - Be gay YinWar, do crimes. Dehup gives us Yin, War, Mark and a few other familiar faces in a Leverage sitch, only queerer.
9/14 Love Sick 2024 (Thai Sat ????) ?? eps - Remake of the original. I'm scared too.
9/15 Bad Guy My Boss (Thai Sun Gaga) 10 eps - Assistant to a player boss who is in love with that boss decides to quit to save himself. The boss then makes a move. (A gay What's up with Secretary Kim?)
Upcoming BLs for 2024 are listed here. This list is not kept updated, so please leave a comment if you know something new or RP with additions.
Coming SEPTEMBER 2024:
9/17 Love is Like a Poison AKA Doku Koi: Doku mo Sugireba Koi to Naru (Japan Tues Netflix?) 10 eps - Lawyer and a con artist meet at a bar, pair up, fall in love.
9/28 Teenager Judge (Vietnam Sat YouTube) ?? eps - oh I don't know just Ba Vinh doing his thing with pretty boys again.
9/? The Time of Fever (Korea iQIYI) 6 eps - HoTae & DongHee are back! Side couple from Unintentional Love Story, same actors, same character names I an WILD for this.
THIS WEEK’S BEST MOMENTS
Not sure what this is from but I capped it for a reason so, shrug.
The scent trope AND the childhood crush trope? I see you suckering me into one trope because I like the other. Clever, Battle. Very clever.
(Last week)
Streaming services are listed by how I (usually) watch, which is with a USA based IP, and often offset by a day because time zones are a pain.

The Bet (Part Three)
Characters: College! Sukuna x Female Reader
Genre: Angst
Warnings: Foul Language, Physical Fight, Mention of blood, a little suggestive perhaps.
Author’s note: Thank you for yall support 🩷 English is not my first language :’) and you guys have been super nice
Part 01, Part 02, Part 04
Sukuna's heart raced. "What's going on?" he asked, trying to keep his tone casual but feeling the tension in the air.
"Gojo told us about the bet," Choso said, his voice laced with disappointment. "Why, Sukuna? Why would you do that?"
Sukuna's stomach dropped. He didn't want to have this conversation, not now. "What bet? What are you talking about?"
"Don't play dumb," Yuuji snapped, stepping closer. "The bet you made with Gojo about her."
Sukuna's jaw tightened. "I don't know what you're talking about."
"Don't lie to us! At least be a man and confess.”Choso's voice was louder now, echoing through the apartment. "Gojo told us everything. How could you?"
Sukuna felt a surge of anger and defensiveness. "That piece of shit…”
"This isn't about Gojo!" Yuuji shouted. "It's about you and what you did."
Sukuna turned away, running a hand through his hair. "Look, is just a stupid bet…it doesn’t mean anything.”
"Doesn’t mean anything?" Choso repeated, incredulous. "You are playing with someone's feelings and it doesn’t mean anything?”
"It was just supposed to be a silly bet," Sukuna muttered, more to himself than to them. "I- I haven’t… nothing has happened.”
"Is that why you’re still speaking to her? Hanging with her?” Yuuji's voice was full of disbelief. "I can’t believe it, Sukuna. After all you have been through and you decide to do this shit?”
Sukuna whirled around, his eyes flashing. "It isn’t like that!”
"Then what was it like?" Choso demanded. "Explain it to us, because right now, you just look like a jerk. You’re doing what Mei Mei did to you.”
Sukuna couldn’t believe what he was hearing. His own brother throwing those words against him. Yes, he had fallen in love with Mei Mei a long time ago, yes, she played with his feelings and yes, she ended up cheating on him, and yes she still was using him for his body after they were broken up, yes, yes and YES.
Sukuna's shoulders slumped. He was caught, cornered, and there was no easy way out. "I didn't… I didn’t think I would fall for her.”
"You didn’t think? Why doesn’t that surprised me?" Yuuji echoed, his voice softer now, tinged with hurt. "Sukuna, this is wrong."
"I know," Sukuna said quietly, his voice barely above a whisper. "I know it's wrong."
There was a long silence, the air thick with tension.
"So why did you do it?" Choso asked finally, his voice softer but still firm. "Why did you make the bet?"
Sukuna took a deep breath, trying to find the right words. "It was just supposed to be fun, it was just random. I didn't think... I didn't think it would turn into this."
"And now?" Yuuji pressed. "What do you think now?"
Sukuna hesitated, the truth weighing heavily on his chest. "Now... now it's different."
"Different how?" Choso asked, his eyes narrowing.
Sukuna looked at his brothers, the guilt and shame evident on his face. "I- I like her, okay? I didn't mean for it to happen, but I do. I like her."
Yuuji and Choso stared at him, shocked.
"You... you like her?" Yuuji repeated, his voice barely a whisper.
"Yes…" Sukuna admitted, his voice raw with emotion. "I didn't plan for it, but I do. And now I don't know what to do, okay?”
"Y- You need to tell her," Yuuji said, his voice softer but still firm. "She deserves to know the truth."
Sukuna spun around, his eyes desperate. "If I tell her, she'll never speak to me again. And I really like her. I can't lose her."
Yuuji and Choso exchanged a glance, their anger giving way to understanding. "So you really care about her?" Choso asked.
"Yes," Sukuna said, his voice breaking. "I have never felt like this for anyone…” He sighed, “We… we kissed today…” He looked away, “It just felt… right.”
Yuuji eyes widened as he looked at Choso. Yuuji sighed, running a hand through his hair, “Sukuna…”
"Yuuji.” Sukuna said firmly. "I mean it. I care about her. It's not just some bet anymore.”
Yuuji sighed as he looked at Choso who looks defeated, “We won't say anything. But you can't screw this up, Sukuna.” He said as he gave him a small smile, “You have to be honest with her in everything else…you owe her that much."
Sukuna trudged back to his room after the intense confrontation with Yuuji and Choso. His heart felt heavy with the weight of their words, and the guilt gnawed at him relentlessly. Closing the door behind him, he collapsed onto his bed, staring up at the ceiling as he tried to process everything.
His phone buzzed on his pants, snapping him out of his thoughts. He picked it up and saw a message from you.
Bookworm :): "Goodnight, Sukuna. Thanks for today. It was really fun :)"
He couldn't help but smile at the screen. The memory of your kiss came rushing back, the feel of your soft lips, the faint taste of them. It was a simple, sweet moment that had stirred something deep inside him. Despite everything, you had managed to make him feel genuinely happy.
Lying back on his bed, he stared at the ceiling, replaying the events of the day. Walking through the museum together, the lighthearted conversations, the way you had looked at him with those doe eyes... And that kiss. He couldn't shake the image from his mind, the way your cheeks had flushed, the way you had leaned into him.
He wanted more. He wanted to see you smile, hear you laugh, and taste those lips again.
Sukuna typed out a response, his fingers hesitating over the keys for a moment before he pressed send.
Sukuna: "Goodnight. I had a great time too. Let's do it again."
He put the phone down and took a deep breath.
The next morning, Sukuna stormed into the locker room, his mind still reeling from the confrontation with his brothers. As he shoved his gear into his locker, he spotted Gojo across the room, casually tossing his things into his own locker. The sight of him ignited a fire in Sukuna's chest, and without a second thought, he crossed the room and swung his fist.
Gojo barely had time to react before Sukuna's punch landed squarely on his jaw, sending him stumbling backward. The locker room fell silent as the other players turned to watch, shock and confusion etched on their faces.
"What the fuck, dickhead?" Gojo yelled, wiping the blood from his nose.
"Why did you tell my brothers about the bet?" Sukuna growled, advancing on him.
Gojo raised his hands defensively, but there was a smirk playing on his lips. "It was an accident! I had too much to drink."
"Accident, my ass!" Sukuna lunged at him again, but this time, their teammates stepped in to hold him back.
"Come on, Sukuna, calm down!" one of the players shouted, struggling to keep a grip on him.
Gojo, still rubbing his nose, looked at Sukuna with a mixture of amusement and annoyance. "What's your problem, man? Guilty conscience?"
Sukuna's eyes narrowed. "You don't get it. You have no idea what you've done."
Gojo's expression hardened. "Oh, I get it. You're feeling guilty because you actually like her. You’re such a hypocrite.”
Sukuna tried to break free from his teammates' grip, but they held him firm. "Fucking shut up, Gojo!"
Gojo's smirk returned, more malicious this time. “You know, the bet was to fuck her and prove everyone what we already know… that you’re a man whore and that she… eventually…” Gojo said breathlessly as he looks at Geto who was pleading him with his eyes to shut the fuck up, “Will be one of your fuck toys.”
That was the final straw. Sukuna broke free and launched himself at Gojo, landing another punch that sent him crashing into the lockers. The room erupted into chaos as the other players tried to separate them, shouting and struggling to keep the two apart.
"You don't talk about her like that!" Sukuna shouted, his voice raw with anger.
Gojo pushed himself up, his face flushed with rage. "Why? Because you've fallen for her? You're pathetic, Sukuna!"
The two continued to grapple, trading punches and insults until the coach burst into the room, his face a mask of fury. "What the hell is going on here?"
The players finally managed to pull Sukuna and Gojo apart, both of them panting and bloodied. The coach's eyes blazed as he looked between them. "You two, with me. Now."
They were marched to the college administration office, the coach trailing behind them, seething with anger. Inside, the dean looked up from his desk, frowning as they entered.
"What is the meaning of this?" he demanded.
"They were fighting in the locker room," the coach explained, his voice tight with barely suppressed rage. "These are my two best players, and they're at each other's throats."
The dean sighed, rubbing his temples. "You two are lucky I'm just giving you a warning. Another incident like this, and you'll be off the team. Do you understand?"
Sukuna and Gojo nodded, both too exhausted and bruised to argue. As they left the office, the tension between them was palpable. They walked in silence, their friendship hanging by a thread.
Back in the locker room, the other players watched them warily. Sukuna didn't meet Gojo's eyes as he grabbed his bag and headed for the door. The pain in his knuckles was nothing compared to the turmoil in his heart.
As he walked out of the locker room, he couldn't shake the feeling that things would never be the same between them. And deep down, he wondered if he deserved it.
Sukuna walked into class, the morning light highlighting the fresh bruises on his face. He tried to keep his posture relaxed, as if the fight hadn’t taken a toll on him. His eyes scanned the room until they found you, seated in your usual spot. Your eyes widened in shock when you saw him, your concern evident.
“Sukuna, what happened?” You asked, your voice filled with worry as he took the seat next to you.
“It’s nothing,” he said with a forced smile, attempting to brush off your concern. “Just a misunderstanding.”
Before you could probe further, the door opened again, and Gojo walked in, sporting similar bruises. The room seemed to hold its breath for a moment as the students took in the sight of both their bruised classmates. The tension between Sukuna and Gojo was palpable, and it didn’t take a genius to realize they had fought.
Your gaze flicked between the two, confusion and worry etched on your face. “Did you two…?” You began, but Sukuna cut you off.
“Don’t worry about it,” he said softly, leaning in to press a gentle kiss to your forehead. “It’s nothing you need to be concerned with.”
You glanced over at Gojo, who was staring directly at you, his expression unreadable. Gojo had never paid you much attention before, but now his gaze seemed to hold something deeper, almost as if he knew something you didn’t. The intensity of his stare made you uncomfortable, and you turned back to Sukuna, who was glaring at Gojo.
“Are you sure you’re okay?” You asked, your voice trembling slightly.
“I’m fine,” Sukuna reassured you, though his eyes never left Gojo. “It was just a stupid fight.”
You nodded, though you weren’t entirely convinced. There was something about the way Gojo was looking at you that made you feel uneasy, like there was a secret you weren’t privy to. The classroom buzzed with murmurs and whispers, but you couldn’t focus on any of it. All you could think about was the tension between Sukuna and Gojo, and what could have possibly caused it.
As the class began, you noticed Gojo stealing glances at you and Sukuna. Sukuna, for his part, seemed intent on pretending everything was fine, but you could see the strain in his eyes. The bruises on his face were a stark reminder of whatever had transpired between him and Gojo.
As the final bell rang, signaling the end of class, you gathered your things quickly. Sukuna noticed and immediately moved to help you, ruffling your hair playfully. He picked up your bag without a second thought, slinging it over his shoulder.
"Thanks, Sukuna," you said softly, smiling up at him.
"No problem," he replied, his voice light. As you both walked out of the classroom together, you couldn't help but notice the curious glances from your classmates. Sukuna, the school’s notorious popular heartbreaker, was carrying your bag and being surprisingly sweet.
Gojo, seeing the whole scene, rolled his eyes and muttered something under his breath.
You both made your way to the library, the path familiar and comforting. You looked up at him, concern in your eyes. “Are you sure you’re okay? You didn’t really tell me what happened.”
Sukuna chuckled, shaking his head. “It was just a stupid fight. A boy thing. Nothing to worry about.”
You wanted to press further, but you didn’t want to make him uncomfortable. For god sakes, you haven’t even spoken about the kiss. “Okay, if you say so,” you said softly.
You arrived at the library and found a cozy, secluded corner in the reading section where no one else was around. Both of you sat down on the floor, Sukuna in front of you, leaning against the shelves, as you pulled out your books. You tried to focus on your reading, but you couldn’t help but steal glances at Sukuna. The bruises on his face were a stark reminder of the fight he had mentioned, and your mind kept drifting back to the kiss you both shared.
Sukuna noticed your glances and decided to break the tension with some playful teasing. “So,” he began, a smirk playing on his lips, “what did you do this weekend?”
You looked at him, confused for a moment, then caught on to his game. “Oh, I went to the museum,” you said, trying to sound casual.
“With anyone special?” he asked, his tone light and teasing.
“Actually, yes,” you replied, a small smile forming on your lips. “I went with a… guy.”
Sukuna laughed, a genuine, deep laugh that made your heart skip a beat. “Oh really? Was he handsome?”
You giggled, “He was ugly.” and Sukuna acted offended.
You pretended to think about something, “We walked around the museum and saw the exhibitions.”
He leaned in closer, your faces inches apart. “Did you have a good time with him?”
You felt your cheeks heat up. “Yes… I did.”
“Did he kissed you?” Sukuna asked, his voice dropping to a softer, more intimate tone as he took his book and sat next to you on the floor, your shoulders brushing. As you glanced up at him, a playful smile danced on your lips.
“We might have kissed,” you said softly, your eyes sparkling with mischief.
He looked around, confirming that you were indeed alone in the secluded corner of the library. Turning back to you, his voice dropped to a whisper. “Did it go something like this?” he asked, his tone teasing.
Before you could respond, Sukuna leaned in and pressed his lips to yours, capturing you in a gentle kiss. Your initial surprise melted away, and you began to giggle against his mouth, a sound that made his heart swell with warmth.
Your laughter was infectious, and he pulled back slightly, smiling down at you. You’re adorable when you laugh,” he said, his voice full of affection.
You blushed, looking down at both your hands resting on the floor. Sukuna felt a surge of tenderness, and without thinking, he reached out, his fingers moving towards yours. You noticed his hand and with a shy smile you locked your fingers with his.
You sat like that for a while, books forgotten. The simple act of holding hands felt intimate, more meaningful than any words could convey. Your head moved slightly, leaning towards him, and Sukuna felt a wave of contentment wash over him.
He squeezed your hand gently, and you responded in kind, your thumb brushing over his knuckles. You resumed reading, but the atmosphere between you had shifted. The air was charged with a quiet, unspoken connection that bound you together more strongly than before.
Every now and then, you would glance up at him, and he would catch your eye, both of you sharing a secret smile. The world outside the little corner of the library seemed to fade away, leaving just the two of you in a bubble of warmth and affection.
Sukuna couldn’t help but steal glances at you, marveling at how the light played on your features. You looked so serene, so focused on your book, and yet, he knew you were aware of his every movement. Your presence was soothing, grounding him in a way he had never experienced before.
As you continued to read, Sukuna felt your head rest gently on his shoulder. He turned slightly, pressing a soft kiss to your hair. You sighed contentedly, and he felt a deep sense of peace settle over him.
Gojo made his way to the infirmary. The bruises and cuts from his fight with Sukuna were throbbing, and he needed to clean himself up, again. He entered the quiet, sterile room, expecting to be alone, but was surprised to find Mei Mei already there, looking for ibuprofen for her headache.
She glanced up as he entered, her eyes widening slightly at the sight of his battered face. “Gojo, you look like hell! What happened?,” she asked grabbing some gauze and antiseptic. “Come here, let me help.”
He hesitated for a moment but then sat down on one of the beds. He winced as she dabbed a cotton ball soaked in alcohol on a particularly nasty cut on his cheek. “Easy,” he muttered, hissing in pain.
“Hold still,” she chided, though there was a softness in her tone. “What happened to you?”
“Sukuna” Gojo replied vaguely, his jaw clenched. “We had a… what we call disagreement.”
MeiMei eyes widened, she continued to clean his wounds, her touch surprisingly gentle. “Was it over a girl?” she asked, her voice laced with curiosity.
Gojo chuckled, shaking his head slightly. “I wish it was that simple,” he said. “No…this is… another matter.”
She arched an eyebrow, her interest piqued. “I don’t understand. Why would you idiots fight then?”
He looked at her for a moment, debating whether to divulge the truth. He needed someone to talk to. He knew she wasn’t the best person to go to, he knows how she feels about Sukuna. He knows that she is in love with his best friend. That she has been on the chase for him— but he needed to vent, he needed to—
“We made a bet… a hundred bucks to hook up with a girl. And I… I drank to much that night and I told Yuuji about it. And fuck…he beat the fuck out of me, you know?”
Mei Mei’s eyes widened, and she paused in her ministrations. “Did… did he won?” she asked almost incredulously.
“No.” Gojo said, “He caught feelings.” He said with a bitter smile. “He has genuinely fallen for her.”
For a moment, Mei Mei was silent, processing this new information. A myriad of emotions flashed across her face—shock, curiosity, and something else, something hopeful. She carefully hid that last emotion, focusing instead on the task at hand. “Well,” she said, her voice measured, “It sounds like he’s in quite the predicament.”
“You could say that,” Gojo agreed, wincing again as she pressed a little too hard on one of his cuts.
Mei Mei continued to tend to his wounds, her mind racing. This revelation changed everything. If Sukuna had genuine feelings for you, it meant that his relationship with her was truly over. But it also meant that she knew something you didn’t.
She finished bandaging Gojo’s injuries and sat back, looking at him thoughtfully. “You should work things out with Sukuna,” she said finally. “Best friends shouldn’t let something like this come between them.”
Gojo sighed, running a hand through his hair. “I know.”
“Then start by talking to him,” Mei Mei suggested. “You two have been through too much together to let this ruin your friendship.”
Gojo nodded, appreciating her advice despite the circumstances. “Thanks, MeiMei.”
She smiled, though it didn’t quite reach her eyes. “Anytime, Gojo. And for what it’s worth, I hope things work out for both of you.”
As Gojo left the infirmary, Mei Mei’s mind whirled with possibilities. Sukuna’s newfound feelings didn’t necessarily spell the end for her ambitions. In fact, it might even give her an edge. She had always been good at playing the long game, and this situation was no different. If she could manipulate things just right, she might still have a chance to win Sukuna back.
She knows, she thinks, that Sukuna will get bored of you. And he will crawl back to her when you don’t give him what he needs…
Sex.
As Sukuna noticed the time, he realized it was almost time for practice. Reluctantly, he stood up and gently kissed your forehead, lingering for a moment to savor the connection between you. You looked up at him with a warm, content smile.
“I’ve got to head to practice,” he said softly, brushing a strand of hair behind your ear. “But I’ll be here when I’m done, okay?”
You nodded, your eyes twinkling with happiness. “I’ll be here,” you replied, your voice filled with warmth.
Sukuna started gathering his things, slinging his bag over his shoulder. Before he turned to leave, he paused, a thought crossing his mind. “Hey,” he said, his voice filled with a mix of excitement and nervousness, “how about we go on a date tomorrow night?”
Your face lit up with a radiant smile, and you nodded eagerly. “I’d love that, Sukuna.”
His heart swelled with affection as he reached out to squeeze your hand. “Great. I’ll plan something special,” he promised, his eyes shining with anticipation.
“Can’t wait,” you replied, your cheeks flushing with happiness.
As he started to walk away, he glanced back one more time, taking in the sight of you sitting there with that beautiful smile. “See you later,” he called, his voice filled with warmth.
“See you,” you replied, waving softly.
With his heart lighter than it had been in a long time, Sukuna made his way to practice, already counting down the hours until he could see you again.
By the time practice rolled around, he felt drained but knew he had to push through. As he entered the locker room, he noticed Gojo already there, lacing up his shoes. The air was thick with tension; they hadn't spoken since their fight.
Gojo looked up, and for a moment, they just stared at each other. The room was silent, the animosity between them palpable. Their teammates exchanged glances, noticing the thick tension.
"Alright, this has gone on long enough," Geto muttered to the rest of the team. "They need to sort this out."
In the middle of practice break, the team subtly maneuvered Gojo and Sukuna into the locker room under the guise of needing to discuss strategy. As soon as they were inside, Geto and the others shut the door and locked it from the outside.
"Hey! What the hell?" Gojo shouted, pounding on the door. "Let us out!"
"Not until you two work things out!" Geto's voice came muffled through the door, followed by laughter from the other teammates.
Sukuna and Gojo exchanged a glare. "This is ridiculous," Sukuna muttered.
"Open the fucking door you emo!” Gojo snapped back. Only to hear Geto chuckle on the other side of the door without a care in the world.
“He’s not going to listen to you, idiot.” Sukuna said angrily as he rolled his eyes.
“Well, at least Yuuji does.” Gojo threw at him, “But since we’re stuck here, let’s get this over with.”
"Fine by me, I beat the fuck out you once, I can do it twice.” Sukuna said, crossing his arms. "Why would you tell my brothers?”
Gojo hesitated, guilt flashing in his eyes. "It slipped out, okay? I didn’t mean to. I had too much to drink.”
"Didn't mean to?" Sukuna's voice rose. "You think you can just accidentally blab about something like that and get away with it?"
"Look, I was drunk and stupid," Gojo said defensively. "And about the bet…We shouldn't have made that bet in the first place."
"Don’t you think I know that?” Sukuna echoed, his voice rising. “Do you know how of a dickhead I feel now?”
"You think I don't know that now?" Gojo snapped, the guilt gnawing at him. "Then why did you agree to it?" He pressed, his anger simmering. "Why did you let it go this far?"
"Because..." Sukuna struggled to find the words. "Because I didn't think it would go anywhere. It was just supposed to be harmless fun."
"Harmless fun?" Gojo's voice was full of disbelief. "Sukuna… do you even know your own body count this year?”
Sukuna whirled around, his eyes flashing. "I was just... lost. After what happened with MeiMei, I didn’t think I could care about anyone again."
Gojo’s expression softened slightly, but he remained firm. "Then why didn't you stop when things started to change? When you realized you actually liked her?"
Sukuna’s shoulders slumped. He was caught, cornered, and there was no easy way out. "I was scared. Scared she'd find out and hate me. Scared I'd lose her."
Gojo stared at him, the anger fading from his face. "Oh shit… you really do like her.”
"Yes…”Sukuna admitted, his voice raw with emotion. "I didn't plan for it, but I do. I like her a lot. And now I don’t know what to do.”
Gojo was silent for a moment, processing the revelation. "Wow. I didn't see that coming."
"Yeah…me neither," Sukuna said, his eyesight somewhere around the locker room. “She is a sweet girl Gojo… she doesn’t deserve any of this.”
Gojo sighed, running a hand through his hair. "You know, after what happened with Mei Mei, I never thought you'd open up to anyone again."
Sukuna nodded, the memory of Mei Mei's betrayal still a raw wound. "Yeah, me neither.” He sighed “But she's different. She makes me feel...good.”
Gojo smiled, a genuine, warm smile. "I'm happy for you, man. Really. You deserve to be happy."
"Thanks," Sukuna said, his voice thick with emotion. "But if she finds out about the bet, she'll never speak to me again."
Gojo placed a hand on Sukuna's shoulder. "We'll figure it out. I'll help you. And I won't say anything. Your secret is safe with me."
Sukuna felt a weight lift off his shoulders. "Thanks, man. That means a lot."
"Anytime," Gojo replied. Then, with a mischievous grin, he added, "So… how did it go?”
"Shut up," Sukuna laughed, playfully shoving Gojo. "We kissed.”
"Did my little boy hold her hand?" Gojo teased, winking and Sukuna simply rolled his eyes.
Sukuna and Gojo walked side by side towards the practice field, their usual banter subdued. They had patched things up after their heated argument, but Gojo couldn't shake the gnawing guilt that weighed heavily on him.
The secret was now in Mei Mei’s hands. Her knowing the truth about the bet was like a ticking time bomb in his mind.
Sukuna, on the other hand, seemed more relaxed. He was still processing everything that had happened, but he was relieved to have his best friend back on his side. He glanced over at Gojo, offering a faint smile. "Ready to kick some ass today?"
Gojo forced a grin, nodding. "Yeah, always."
As they walked, Gojo's thoughts spiraled. He had to tell Sukuna the truth, but every time he opened his mouth to speak, the fear of ruining their fragile reconciliation stopped him. Sukuna didn't know that Mei Mei was aware of the bet, and Gojo dreaded what would happen if that truth came out.
They arrived at the practice field, and the rest of the team was already warming up. Gojo watched as Sukuna seamlessly joined the drills, his movements fluid and focused. The sight made the guilt twist tighter in Gojo's gut. He couldn't keep this from Sukuna forever, but he didn't know how to break it to him without causing more pain.
As practice went on, Gojo's performance was off. His mind kept drifting back to that moment with Mei Mei, replaying the conversation over and over. He cursed himself for being so careless, for letting his guard down and betraying his friend's trust.
Sukuna noticed Gojo's distraction and jogged over during a break. "Hey, you okay? You seem off today."
Gojo swallowed hard, trying to mask his guilt. "Yeah, just a lot on my mind.”
Sukuna nodded, not pressing further. "Well, if you need to talk, you know I'm here."
"Thanks, man," Gojo replied, feeling the weight of Sukuna's trust pressing down on him even more.
As practice wrapped up and they began to head back to the locker room, Gojo felt a pang of guilt that he couldn't ignore. He needed to say something, but the words were stuck in his throat. Watching Sukuna joke around with the other teammates, Gojo made a silent vow to himself. He had to figure out how to fix this, how to protect their friendship and Sukuna's budding relationship.

Of forgotten Anniversaries and unexpected Gifts - Gaara x Reader
You wake up to an empty bed, the place next to you cold.
For a minute, you stay where you are, one hand resting under the other pillow.
But you have to get up, even if you don’t want to.
The blue sky is taunting you, promising a stifling heat. You dress for it, anticipating the worst.
The kitchen is empty, only the dirty dishes in the sink indicate that you’re not living alone.
With a grimace, you scrub the plates down. It’s always the job of the last one to get up and Kankuro has made it a habit to get up extra early to get out of the chore.
At least he made sure to leave enough Porridge for you to also have breakfast.
You meet him where you expected him to be, hunched over yet another puppet in his workshop.
Two knocks on the doorframe to alert him.
“What?” He asks without looking up.
“Have you seen your brother?”
“Why are you asking me? He’s your husband.”
“He didn’t leave a note, I just thought-”
Kankuro looks up now. You’re pretty sure he’s measuring you, reading you in a way you don’t want to be read.
“He’s the Kazekage. I’d look for him in the tower.”
“Thanks,” you mumble awkwardly before turning away to leave.
“Be nice to him,” your brother-in-law yells after you. As if you’d ever been anything else.
-
“Lord Kazekage is in a meeting,” a young Chunin declares with an air of arrogance.
“For how long?”
“I don’t have the permission to tell you that.”
Someone calls your name just as your grip on your bags tighten. You can’t sock a Chunin in the face but that doesn’t mean you don’t want to.
Matsuri walks down the long hallways, smiling.
“What brings you here?”
“I wanted to see my husband,” you point out.
“Oh, Gaara-sama? He’s in a meeting until nine but then he should have a fifteen-minute break before the next meeting.”
The Chunin pales at your conversation.
“You’re…?”
“Yes,” you tell him pointedly.
“You are not dressed in-”
“I am dressed in standard uniform because I have work to get to. Do you think I just sit at home and stare out the window?”
Matsuri’s hand on your shoulder tells you that you’ve been a bit too harsh on the poor guy.
“You’re excused,” you tell him and he slinks away as quickly as he can.
“Everything okay?” Matsuri asks as soon as the guy is out of sight.
“Just peachy,” you breathe out through your nose.
“I… I’d better get going then. When’s Gaara’s Lunch break?”
“He usually doesn’t take one. Rice cakes are served during meetings so if he gets hungry, he eats those but he usually just eats in the mornings and evenings.”
You purse your lips, thinking.
“When does he get out?”
“He should be done at six, but sometimes meetings run later. Do you want me to notify you?”
“I don’t know.” You fight with the uniform that suddenly feels too tight.
“I’ll... I’ll get going.”
“What are your plans for today?”
“I was going to visit the outposts. I was planning on doing that since I got here but everything else kept me busy.”
“I’ll accompany you.”
“You don’t have to.”
“I will,” she smiles. “Come on, let’s get going. It’s going to get even hotter and we want to use the shadows as long as we have them.”
-
“Today is your anniversary,” Matsuri comments on your first break.
“Yes.”
“Is it weird?”
You know exactly what she means and her direct approach is exactly what you need. It’s not without reason that Matsuri has quickly become the person closest to you in this village.
“Yes, it’s weird.” You purse your lips. “We’ve been married for a year but living together… it’s been barely three months now. Everyone has a set routine, too. Don’t disturb Kankuro while he’s cooking, or working on his puppets, or painting his face. Don’t eat anything without asking first, because it could be poisonous. Don’t touch Gaara without warning him first.”
“I know it’s hard to believe sometimes, but Gaara really does care for you.”
“I know,” you nod with a heavy heart. “I know. It’s just… I don’t think he knows what being married means sometimes.”
“I think he doesn’t know he’s allowed to exist as a human being too. He never complains when he gets scheduled for meetings back to back. I’m pretty sure he’d love to have a Lunch break.” Matsuri huffs. “But his secretary is a bitch.”
You gasp. She laughs.
“She really is. She’s some old hag that worked for his dad. Oh, please, can you tell her off? If you tell her to give him a lunch break and an early evening, she will have to listen. You’re the Lady Kazekage now.”
You purse your lips. It does sound appealing.
“How about…” You hesitate for a second. “How about we plan a celebration? For my anniversary? I could surprise Gaara with it. A weekend just for the two of us.”
“Oh, I’m sure that would be lovely. You could take him to the bathhouse. It’s a rare treat for anyone and I’m not sure he’s ever been there.”
“A bathhouse?” The idea does sound appealing, you have to admit.
-
You return to Suna in the late afternoon, the sun still baking the village, even though the shadows are now growing longer and longer.
The guards greet you with welcoming smiles.
Not everyone in Suna likes you, but you can feel them slowly warming up to you.
Your family’s roots are just as strongly tied to Suna as those of the Kazekage Family. But when it became clear that they’d never rule the village, your grandfather relocated the whole Clan to a smaller village at the border of the Land of the Wind, easily taking over the reigns there.
Marrying Gaara has been just as much a political decision as it has been a romantic one.
After all, it’s hard not to fall in love with Gaara, with the calm confidence he exudes and the gentleness he treats you with - well, when he’s not drowning in work
You stop at the market on your way home, buying groceries, snacks and, following an instinct, a Cacti you haven’t seen yet in your husband’s collection.
But Gaara’s not home yet.
-
Ashikaga-san furrows her brows at you when you enter.
You changed into more formal clothing for this visit, the gold and diamonds glittering on your hands and neck. The jewelry isn’t technically necessary for your outfit, but you’ve noticed how often it humbles the people trying to pick a fight with you.
“I want to see my husband,” you tell her.
“He’s in a meeting.”
“And when was that meeting supposed to end?”
“It’s going to end when it’s going to end.” She sneers.
You smile but it’s more like baring your teeth at her.
“When was the last time he had a break?”
“He used the restroom an hour ago.”
“Do I have to repeat my question?”
She huffs. “It’s a normal workday for a Kazekage, I don’t see why you should have a problem with that.”
“How old did the last Kazekage get?” You ask, your tone sweet.
She immediately bristles. “That has nothing to do-”
“I disagree. Overworking the person you should be assisting isn’t going to give you brownie points.”
“Well I can’t end the meeting now, can I?” She hisses back.
“No,” you agree. “You can’t do that. But you do have influence. Let’s start with clearing his weekend first, shall we? I’m going to pick him up around noon, so make sure there are no appointments after that.”
“But-”
You glare at her until her mouth closes again and she nods.
“I know he’s busy, so how about we plan fifteen-minute breaks every two hours and half an hour for Lunch?”
Her mouth is pulled into a straight line as she goes through his calendar under your watchful eyes.
You know very well that Gaara’s an early riser. Not to mention that the early hours of the morning are the ones most enjoyable in the desert. It wouldn’t make sense to force him to push those early appointments further back only to be able to curl into him in the morning. But now you might have the weekends to do that, at least.
“And now,” you pull a little note out of your bag, “you’ll go into that meeting and hand him this note.”
Ashikaga-san doesn’t look the least bit happy to be ordered around this much, but she does as she is told.
Only fifteen minutes later different officials file out of the Kazekage’s office, leaving only Gaara behind, his hair mussed and his face pale with exhaustion.
“Hey,” you knock lightly against the doorframe. “Can I come in?”
“Yes,” he nods, rubbing a hand over his eyes. “Come in. Close the door.”
You round his table and take a seat on the armrest of his chair, leaning into him.
“Hey,” you whisper, only now feeling just how much you’ve been yearning to be close to him.
“Hey.”
“Can I touch you?”
“Yes,” he nods, catching you as you slide onto his lap, your arms circling his shoulders.
You sit like that for a while, basking in each other's presence.
“I missed you,” you tell him quietly, face hidden against his neck. “The bed is cold without you.”
“I’m sorry.”
“I know you are,” you hum. “But…”
“But?”
“I am like a plant too,” you pull back to look into his eyes, pale green and beautiful. “I’ll starve if you don’t give me your attention.”
“I’m sorry.” Gaara presses a kiss against your temple, the tip of your nose, your lips. “I’m trying to be better.”
“Do you know what today is?”
“Wednesday?”
You smile ruefully. “It’s our anniversary.”
“Oh.” His brows crinkle. “Has it really been a year already?”
“It has. Though I think we could celebrate our marriage twice. On the day we married and on the day I moved in.”
“Celebrate it.” He repeats these words as if he’s tasting them for the first time. “How?”
“Well,” you get comfortable with a smile. “For one, the husband has to stay home and spend time with his spouse.”
“Oh?”
“Yes. Like staying in bed longer or taking a bath together. Breakfast in bed is also highly encouraged.”
Gaara’s lips stretch into a shy smile.
“You do like staying in bed longer,” he points out and you nudge his shoulder with your head. “It’s great,” you tell him with a smile. “You should try it sometime.”
“What else?” He asks.
“Well, kisses. Lots of them. I think at least a hundred.”
“A hundred?” You can hear the laughter trying to spill but he’s keeping it at bay. “Only a hundred?”
“Mhm, it can be more though. As if there could ever be enough kisses, you know?”
“I know.” His right hand has found your hip, his thumb drawing circles into the fabric and the skin underneath. “Go on.”
“Gifts, too. Not that I need much, but flowers are usually nice. Or jewelry.” You look down at the diamonds adorning your hands, set into intricate golden chains that are wound around your wrists and fingers, up your arms and around your neck.
“That reminds me,” you pull a little sachet out of your bag. “I got you a gift. Well, I got you a few gifts, but this is your first.”
His shy smile is back, quivering at the edges.
Gaara opens the sachet slowly, pulling out a single golden ring.
“And here I thought I’d get some chains,” he teases.
“Maybe later,” you hum, taking his hand and slipping the ring on. “When I’ve properly measured your shoulders. But this ring will remind you that you’re married.”
He lifts his hand, looking at the evening sun reflecting off the gold.
“Thank you.”
“Now,” you lean back to press a single kiss to the corner of his mouth. “Are you ready for tonights celebration? I set up a table in your garden. Just the two of us, your Cacti and a nice bottle of wine. I won’t keep you too long, I know you need to get up early tomorrow.”
Gaara hesitates.
“What is it?”
“I want to give you more,” he admits, the grip he has on you tightening. “I don’t want you to starve.”
“How about… How about we leave now and talk about the details over Dinner? I do have something planned for this weekend.”
He agrees quietly, his hand never letting go of yours.
-
Monday
You wake up to an empty bed, the place next to you cold.
For a minute, you stay where you are, one hand resting under the other pillow.
When you pull it toward you, you find a single sand rose sitting in it.
Carefully you place it in the vase on your nightstand. So far you’ve collected five of them, one for each day since your anniversary.
The blue sky promises a hot day, but you don’t mind it much. You’ve been able to cool down over the weekend at the bathhouse, already planning your next visit.
The kitchen is empty and you hum a tune as you do the dishes, prepare Lunch for you and Gaara, and because you feel generous today, one for Kankuro as well.
Two knocks at the doorframe of his workshop.
“I made Lunch for you.”
“Oh,” his head snaps up. “Thank you. Is it poisoned?”
“Not this time,” you tell him with a smile. “But I hope you like pickled Onions.”
Kankuro grimaces. “Not particularly.”
“Too bad. The one making Lunch picks the dish.”
“Like I’m going to start making Lunch for you.”
“Too bad, you better get used to pickled Onions then.”
-
You visit the hospital today, promising to come back in the afternoon to help out after Lunch.
Ashikaga-san doesn’t look happy to see you, eyeing the Bento Boxes in your hold with thinly veiled disdain. But you don’t care about her.
Gaara’s smile at your sight is more important to you.
“How was your morning?” You ask, settling on his lap instead of one of the chairs. You raise the chopsticks to feed him pickled Onion.
“Too early,” he reminisces. “I would have liked to stay in bed.”
“I wouldn’t have complained,” you take a bit for yourselves. “Yeez, these are strong.”
“Yes,” he smiles. “I like them like that.”
“I was thinking about working part-time at the hospital.” You tell him more about your visit, opening your mouth in between sentences when he feeds you as well.
“I agree with your decision,” he nods his head to emphasize. “Though I might have a few other missions in between for you. We got some interesting news today, but I haven’t had the chance to check it out yet.”
“Tell me about it when you did,” you lean for a last kiss, knowing full well that Ashikaga-san is waiting on the other side of the door, anxiously checking the clock.
-
Matsuri reaches you shortly before you’re meant to leave for the night.
“Hey,” everything about her, from the way she holds herself to the way her brows are furrowed, is telling you something is up.
“Yes?”
“Gaara-sama asks to meet you at home? Right now, if possible.”
“What has he gotten up to now?” You ask, but she doesn’t answer, just hands you a note.
Gaara’s handwriting is a familiar sight.
“I’ve gotten you a belated gift. I hope you’ll like him.”
You sigh. “He better not have gotten a dog.”
-
You spot Gaara first, and the streak of red on his cheek.
“You got hurt?!” You reach for it and he lets you, no sand coming in between.
The gash heals quickly under your hands.
“What is going on?” You ask, breathless and confused.
“The interesting news I mentioned… it’s a boy, a sand user as well. He’s… He’s not used to kindness.”
You can read more hiding in the depths of his eyes.
“You’ve taken him in?”
Gaara lifts your hand, the one you gave him in marriage. Even without the gold chains covering it, you know what it means when he kisses the knuckles on your hand.
“Please?” He asks and you nod.
It’s Gaara after all. He never asks for anything.
He leads you down the hallway to the guestroom, your hand in his.
“This,” he explains as he opens the door slowly, “is Shinki. Shinki, this is my wife. She will be your mother.”

“It’s two in the morning, Matt. What do you want?”
“I’m at your door. And obviously me knocking wasn’t enough to get your attention.” Matt says through the phone.
You lift your head, letting out a sigh, “Don’t you have your key?” You get out of bed, yawning as you walks out of your bedroom, “Oh that’s right. You threw it at me when you told me to go fuck myself.”
Matt laughs, “Come on, I apologized for that.”
“No.” You pause to open the door. You look up at him, “We fucked, you told me you loved me, then ghosted me for a fucking week.”
You hang up and walk over to set your phone on the counter. Matt walks in, “Sorry that I have a busy life?” He scoffs, “Shouldn’t have to apologize for that.”
“Never said you had to.” You spin around, arms crossed as you lean against the counter, “Why are you here?”
“I missed you.”
“You know we don’t work.”
“You’re not even going to give us another chance?” Matt walks over, hands on your hips, “C’mon, ma. You know it’s me and you. Not even gonna tell me that you missed me, too?”
You let out a sigh, laying your hands on his chest, “Of course I missed you.”
“So let’s just stop talking..” Matt pulls you into his body, “And get to it, hmm?” He leans in, pressing his lips to your neck.
“What even are we, Matt?”
Your words cause him to lean back, “You really want to get into this again?” He rolls his eyes, “You’re my girl, you know that.”
He goes back in to kiss your neck and you whimper as he bites and nibbles, “A-am I though?”
“Jesus fuck.” Matt sighs, stepping away, “What more do you want from me, y/n?”
“It would be nice if I didn’t have your brothers and my friends telling me that I need to just let you go and that I deserve better.” You keep your stare on him, “It would be fucking wonderful if we could go out to dinner more than one night a month and actually sit and act, no. Be a real couple.”
He smirks, “You wanna go out? Fine. You find time in my busy schedule and then we will.”
“That’s the thing, Matt. I shouldn’t have to be the one to fucking-“ you pinch the bridge of your nose, “I should be important enough for you to want to be seen in public with me. Is there another girl?”
He snaps his head towards you, “What the fuck did you just ask me?”
You clench your jaw, “I asked you if there was another girl.”
He walks over, pulling his phone out of his pocket and slams it down onto the counter next to yours, “See for yourself.”
He keeps his eyes locked on yours, “Is there another guy?”
“Why the fu-“ you take a breath to compose yourself, “If there was another guy, why would I want to be seen with you in public, knowing how your fan base is?” You laugh out of anger, “You really don’t fucking think, do you?”
“God, You are such a bitch.” He cocks his jaw, “But I fucking love it.” He lifts you up onto the counter, his hips between your knees, “You know there’s no one else.”
In between kisses, “How.. do I know.. that?”
He leans his head back, tilting it as he raises his brows, “As you said, you know how my fan base is.” Matt kisses down the other side of your neck.
“You’re such a fucking asshole.” You push him away and get down, “That literally doesn’t explain why I can’t go with you on trips and shit? Like what’s the big deal?”
“Y/n.” Matt drags his hand down over his face, “Can we do this in the morning?”
“What, after I call in the morning and apologize for how I acted when you treat me like, like a sucking side piece and then everything goes back to being our kind of normal?” You scoff, “I just.. get out.”
He blinks, shaking his head, “what did you just say?”
You shake your head, “some days you’re the only thing I know.” You laugh slightly, “The only thing that burns in me when everything grows cold is how much I fucking love you, and it hurts. Matt.”
You take a deep breath, “every little lie that you tell me, like gives me butterflies, and I just.. I don’t know how or even if we’re going to make it out of this alive.”
“We always come back to each other, y/n.” Matt walks up to you, “No matter how much you look away, you always beg me to stay.”
“So do you.” You look down, “I just.. we fight.. so dirty sometimes, Matt. We’re not good for each other.” You look up at him and he cups your cheek, but you push his hand away, “Literally, sometimes you’re a stranger in my bed.”
“Yeah, well sometimes I don’t know if you love me or you want me dead.”
You shrug at his words, and he laughs, “Fuck, y/n. I just, you push me away, and push me away..” he sighs, “But your love is just so sweet.” He groans lowly as his hands find their way to your hips, “You talk so pretty but your heart’s got teeth.”
He leans in, lips finding your neck, “you’re a late night devil and I want you to put your hands on me and just never let go.”
“What good is that going to do? We fuck and you leave and not talk to me for days?”
He chuckles against your skin, “You know, sometimes when I look at you I see my wife..” he steps back, shrugging his shoulders, “Then you go and turn into someone I don’t know.”
“When’s that? When I push you away because I know I don’t deserve to be treated like a fucking option?” You motion to the door, “I don’t want to do this anymore.”
“I promise I’ll be better.”
You roll your eyes, “There’s those damn butterflies again.”
“What you think I’m lying?” Matt stares at you and you shrug, “I don’t know what to believe anymore, to be honest with you.”
“Mm.” Matt purses his lips, “Fine.”
He turns to walk away and your gut flips, “No ma-“
He turns around, “There’s that beggin’ me to stay again.”
“Fuck you.” You breathe out as you walk over to him, smashing your lips onto his as you wrap your arms around his neck.
He bends down, lifting you up to take you back over to the counter, “Don’t ever say I don’t love you.”
You pull him closer, kissing down his neck, “Then you better get better at proving it to me.” He pulls you closer to the edge, “Don’t worry about that, ma.”
“I’ll believe it when I see it.” You push him back, taking your shirt off and tossing it. His hands immediately find your boobs, kissing and biting at your neck which earns moans from you.
“That’s what I like to hear.” He mumbles as he kisses up, kneading your boobs harder, “You’re fuckin’ mine.”
He pulls you off of the counter, leading you over to the couch. He sits down, nodding towards your legs, “Take them off.”
He watches as you strip down, leaving yourself naked before pulling you down to straddle his lap. You grind down, whimpering out against his lips, “Please, Matt. I need you.”
He reaches down, pushed his sweats and boxers down to reveal his cock, “It’s yours.” He rests his head back as you move your hips and sink down onto him, your moans mixing together.
He grips your hips tight, groaning out as he bucks his hips upward, “Fuck, baby. Move.”
You raise your hips, moaning out as you sink back down.
You close your eyes as your cheek rests against his head, moaning out from the pleasure between your legs and from Matt’s teeth sinking into your neck.
He groans as he sucks a deep, purple mark into your neck, “Ridin’ me so good.” He tilts his head back, blinking slowly, “No one does it like you.”
You move your hips faster, squeezing his shoulders with your hands as you tilt your head back.
You look down, pulling his shirt up his chest to indicate you wanted him to take it off. He pulls it up over his head, tossing it over your shoulder before his arm wraps around your waist.
His other hands find your cheek, cupping your face as he stares up at you, “M’such a fuckin’ dick.”
You nod, whimpering out as your walls tighten around his cock, “Yeah, but I love you.”
He smirks slightly, nodding, “I love you, too, ma.” He licks his lips, “C’mere.” He pulls you in close, leaning back before thrusting his hips upward.
You moan out loudly, eyes rolling back as you feel yourself inching closer to euphoria, “K-keep going.” You gasp out, “Sh-shit.”
“Cum for me. You got it, baby.” Matt groans, “Fuck, I’m not-“ he moans out, laying you down and resuming his thrusts, “Where you want me, babe?”
“I-I don’t care. Just don’t stop.” Your nails dig into his shoulders, dragging down his biceps as your back lifts from the cushion, “Fuck, fuck, fuck.”
“Fuck, you are so hot.” Matt brushes hair from your face, resting his head down on your forehead as you come undone underneath him.
Matt lasts long enough to guide you through your high then pulls out and spills his cum onto your waist with low moans and groans.
You lay your hand on his cheek, pushing his head up for him to look at you, “I’m tired of fighting and being told that I can do better than you.”
He nods, “I want to be better for you.”
“Do you mean that?” You raise your brows and he nods, eyes scanning over your face, “Yeah.” He pecks your lips, “I do.”
You smile, putting a hand on his chest as you sit up. He sits back, pulling up his sweats before he grabs his shirt for you to wipe off with, “Here, babe.”
You smile slightly as you take it, “Thank you.”
It’s silent for a little bit, enough for you to redress and get a drink.
“Move in with me.”
You set your glass down and tilt your head, laughing slightly, “What?”
Matt moves over to you, taking your hand in his, “Travel with me.”
You state up at him, unsure of what to say and he cups your cheeks, “You said you wanted more and I’m down to give it to you.”
“Will your broth-“
“I don’t care what they think. I only care what you think.” He tilts his head, shrugging, “We can even get a place of our own. I just.. when you told me to get out this last time, it felt different than all the other times and I just-“
You cut him off with a kiss, “Take me to Paris and I’ll consider moving in with you.” You laugh slightly and Matt nods, “Alright.”
“No. Matt.” You shake your head, “I’m just joking.”
“About moving in with me or Paris?” He raises his brow and you smile, “Paris.”
“So you’ll move in?”
You stare at him for a few seconds before you nod, “Yeah, we can give it a shot.” He pulls you in for a hug and kisses your head, “Still taking you to Paris, though.”

“It’s been a while, Hermosa. I’ve missed you.”
You turn off the faucet and grab a paper towel to dry your hands. You turn your head slightly towards him.
“I never thought I would see you again.” You lightly chuckle before you turn around and look up to meet his gaze. Pressed against the sink and Miguel, you couldn’t escape. But with your heart pounding against your chest, you didn’t want to move from his hold.
Miguel brushed some of your hair from your face before he took your chin in his hand. His gaze dropped to your lips before meeting your eyes again.
“Maybe we should start where we left off two years ago. I never was able to give you that goodbye kiss. But I’d say it’s more of a hello now.” He leaned down, his lips brushing your own. Before your lips touch, you turn your head, his kiss touching your cheek. Miguel raised his head, eyebrows furrowed, lips forming a frown. You lift your hand to cup his face as your thumb gently brushes his cheek.
“I can’t. I-” Before you could speak, you heard the sliding glass door open. Hearing your father’s voice, you and Miguel separate as you turn on the kitchen faucet to resume doing the dishes. Miguel helps you dry them and put the dishes away.
On walks, your father as he brings more dishes to the kitchen. “Hey, you two. I see you both getting buddy-buddy with each other.” Said your father as he came over and put more dishes next to you.
“W-what do you mean?” You felt your heart skip a beat as you looked at your father.
“Just nice to see my daughter getting along with my best friend here. I knew you two would like each other. Are you talking about science stuff?” You smile at your father’s upbeat attitude that you and Miguel were getting along. Little did he know how well you two got along.
“Y/n asked me about what projects we worked on in my department and what interns do. I was just giving her an overview of it.” Miguel said as he put away another dish you passed to him, your fingers touching his. You probably would have dropped it if it wasn’t for his grip on the plate.
“Hope he’s not boring you too much.” Your father laughs as he pats your back.
“No, not at all. I enjoy learning about these kinds of things. If I got bored of it, it wouldn’t be smart to choose a career in it.” You chuckle as your gaze briefly meets Miguel’s before returning to the dishes. Your father comes up and gently pushes you out of the way to finish the dishes.
“Dad? What-” you ask him, confused to being slightly pushed away.
“Don’t worry about finishing the dishes. There’s a surprise waiting for you in the backyard.” Your father chuckled.
“Surprise? It’s 8pm. Why show me-” You paused your words as your eyes widened. You hear everyone come inside from the backyard into the living room, where you hear a distinct male voice. You look to Miguel with slightly widened eyes, who gazes at you with concern before you leave the kitchen and into the living room.
Sitting on the couch chatting with your two brothers and Stephanie was your boyfriend of one year and a month.
“Tyler?” You say, surprised to see him. He turned to face you with a warm smile as he got up to hug you.
“Hey there, kitten. I’ve missed you.” Tyler calls you by the nickname he gives you as he brings you into his arms and leans down to kiss you. You pull away gently from the kiss as you put on a smile.
“Daddy!” Your heart dropped when you heard Gabi run into her father’s arms, who had come from the kitchen.
“Hey, missed you too.” You say to Tyler before you turn to look at Miguel. He didn’t look happy. Not with you being in another man’s arms.
Why was this bothering you so much? You had a great boyfriend. Miguel was only a weekend fling from two years ago. He shouldn’t matter to you. Yet, his gaze, voice, and touch… It made your heart glow.
“I thought I wasn’t going to see you till tomorrow?”
“Jack texted me saying you arrived early. So I decided to come see you.” You look to your older brother and send him a look that only your brothers would understand. Jack’s eyes widened when he saw you look at him with the ‘I’m so going to get you back for this’ look.
“Aww, how sweet.” You say with a big fake smile that only Stephanie and your brothers can recognize.
“Well, it’s getting late. I have to get this little one to bed.” Said Miguel as he noticed his daughter fall asleep in his arms. He also couldn't bear to see you in another man’s arms.
“Aww, they’re always so cute at that age. I miss mine being that age. But they’re all grown up now. Maybe I’ll see grandchildren running around here soon. “Your mom said as she melted at the sight of the sleeping Gabi. She looked at your brother Jack and then at you when she said the last part.
“Mom!” Whined Jack as he tried to cover his reddened cheeks.
Your father leaves the kitchen to say goodbye to Miguel at the door. You leave Tyler’s
arms as you walk to the entrance to your house, where you see Miguel and your father talking. As you stand next to your father, Miguel’s gaze briefly lands on you before looking back at your father.
“Oh, before you leave, Miguel. Are you still trying to find a new babysitter? Y/n babysat all during high school. And she’s free until she returns to college in a month.” Your eyes widen when your father makes the offer for you to babysit.
Miguel looked over at you with a mischievous gleam in his eye as he smiled. “That would be great. See you tomorrow at 3 at my house then. It was nice meeting you, y/n. Can’t wait to get to know you better.”
“S-see you tomorrow.” Your cheeks lightly flush as you smile at him before he leaves through the door.
“Wow, I’ve never seen him warm up to someone so quick. I could barely get a full conversation out of him for a week.” Your father said as he closed the door.
“It’s probably because he knows our family so well.” You tell your father as you both walk back into the family room.
After talking with everyone for a bit longer, you try to hide a yawn. The flight back, plus jet lag, was making you exhausted.
“I’m going to head to bed. I’ll see everyone in the morning.” You try to hide another yawn as you stand up from the couch. Tyler gets up with you, his hand draped around your shoulders.
“Goodnight, you two. No funny business under my roof. Just sleep.” Your father gives you both a warning look. You roll your eyes and smile.
“Don’t worry, Dad. Nothing will happen.”
You say as you walk upstairs to your bedroom, Tyler follows right behind you. As you get to your room, you are suddenly turned around as his lips capture yours. You gently push him away as you smile up at him. He frowns slightly, disappointed in your answer.
“Maybe not tonight. I really am tired from being back from Europe. Let’s just sleep tonight.”
“Fine. Good Night.” He sighed with a smile as he took off his pants and shirt and got in the bed with you.
“Goodnight.”
As you lay in your bed, you wished you shared it with a certain man instead of your boyfriend.
When you woke up the next morning, you left Tyler in your bed as you felt guilty for wishing you woke up in Miguel’s strong arms.
Since Stephanie spent the night, too, you went on a morning walk to your favorite cafe as you both talked about yesterday’s events. After talking the morning away, you walked back to your house, where you said goodbye to Stephanie before she left back to her apartment. That’s when you also said goodbye to Tyler, as he said he would meet up with his old roommates.
When you showered and got ready, it was time for you to head over to Miguel’s house to babysit Gabi. You weren’t just nervous about being in Miguel’s house the first time but you wanted Gabi to like you.
As you walk up to his house, you knock on the door. Within seconds the door opened, revealing Miguel dressed in a button-up and nice black slacks. Your breath hitched when you saw him wearing his glasses. Your core shrieked, but you were able to compose yourself as you smiled at him.
“Hi, Mr. O’Hara.”
“Hey there, Kitten.” Miguel chuckled as he stepped aside to let you inside. As you walked in, you turned around, cheeks red as you lightly hit his chest, trying to hide the smile on your face from his silly remark.
“The name’s y/n to you.”
“And it’s Miguel for you.” Miguel winked at you with a smile before he led you into the house.
Despite living on the same street, his house was way bigger than your childhood home. Nicer too. With top-of-the-line furniture and appliances. That’s probably what you get when you are the genetics department chair at Alchamex.
“You have a lovely home.” You say as he leads you into the kitchen, where Gabi sits at the kitchen counter, coloring with pencils and markers.
“Hey, Mija, Y/n is here to hang out with you.” Gabi looked up from her coloring. Her eyes brightened up when she saw you.
“Hi! I drew you a picture!” Gabi lifted the paper she was drawing as you smiled brightly and walked over to where she was sitting. She showed you her drawing; it was of you and her standing on what you assumed was a field with a soccer ball in her hands.
“I love it, Gabi. Thank you. Oh, are we wearing the Clover team jerseys?”
“Yeah! Since you said you used to play on the team. The drawing is for you.” Gabi passes you the picture as you gladly take it. “Aww, thank you. When I get home, it’s going straight on the fridge.” You gently put the drawing in your bag to make sure not to forget it.
Miguel smiled at you and Gabi getting along. She was ecstatic When he mentioned that you were coming over to babysit this morning. Despite only meeting you yesterday, his daughter seemed fond of you immediately. He briefly leaves to grab his lab coat, putting it on before returning to the kitchen, where you and Gabi chatted away. He walks to the other side of the kitchen counter and puts important paperwork and his laptop in a bag. His gaze meets yours, gesturing for you to follow him.
“Goodbye, princesa. I’ll be home for dinner.” Miguel kissed the top of her head as she turned to hug him.
He then guided you to his office, letting you in first before he closed the door. Hearing the door locked, you turned around with a smile. Miguel approached you, touching your hips as he pulled you against him.
“Maybe something quick before work?” Miguel smirked as he grabbed you by the thighs, lifting you up as he sat you on his desk.
“Miguel, we can’t. For many reasons.” You giggle as you put your hands on his chest and gently push him away. You cup his face with your hand. He puts his larger hand on top of yours as he takes it and kisses your wrist.
“Why not, cariño?” He looks at you with a lustful gaze.
“You know why. First off, Gabi is in the other room. And second, I have a boyfriend. I’m not going to be labeled a cheater. And those are just the two reasons at the top of my head.” You smiled up at him as he moved slightly away from you to let you get down from his desk.
A frown forms on your lips as you see a small pout on his face. Getting up from the desk, you walk up to him and fix his lab coat collar. “I want to kiss you, Miguel. But I can’t.”
Your last words made him smile as he brushed some of your hair behind your ear, a small loving gesture you missed so much.
Miguel unlocked the office door and grabbed his bag as he told you a bit about what Gabi likes to eat, what she can and can’t have, and that he would be back for dinner. He also gave you his phone number to call or text if anything arises. Or if you wanted to meet privately with him. He whispered to you the last part as you rolled your eyes playfully and shook your head, smiling at him before he left.
Walking back to the kitchen, you sit next to Gabi.
“Can I draw with you?”
“Sure!” Gabi smiled as she passed you a blank paper and shared her colored pencils.
“Are you excited to start kindergarten?”
“Yeah! I’m excited to make new friends. Some of my teammates are going to be in my class.”
“That’s awesome! I bet you’re going to have a lot of fun.”
“Yeah! Wow, you draw really well! Can you teach me?” Gabi looked at your drawing of randomly drawn flowers. You smiled at her interest in your drawing. You minored in visual arts just because you loved art and its calming mechanisms when stressed.
You grab two pieces of blank paper and teach her to draw a simple rose. After a few drafts, Gabi was happy with her third rose. You then taught her how to draw different flowers for most of the day.
After spending two hours drawing, you cut up a piece of fruit for the both of you to snack on before Gabi asked you to kick a soccer ball in the backyard.
After spending an hour passing the soccer ball and teaching her cool tricks to show off to her teammates, it was time for you to start making dinner.
You heard the front door open when you finished dinner for you and the two O’Haras. Miguel walked into the kitchen and smiled at seeing you making dinner with Gabi helping when she could, standing on a footstool beside you. He could get used to this site. If only he could make you his.
“Daddy!” Gabi ran up to Miguel and hugged him.
“Hey there, did you have fun today?” Miguel hugged his daughter back before she grabbed his hand and brought him to the kitchen counter.
“Look at the drawings y/n and I drew! She taught me how to draw flowers!” Gabi showed him the drawings.
“These are great, Mija. I’ll put your favorite on the fridge.” Gabi handed her favorite to him as he grabbed a magnet and hung it on the fridge door. “Looks perfect.” Miguel smiled before he gazed at you.
“Gabi, how about you go wash up for dinner.”
“Ok!” Gabi ran upstairs. Once he heard the bathroom door shut, he approached you from behind and grabbed your hips, pulling you against him.
“Miguel.” You chuckle as you finish cooking, turning off the stove as you turn your head.
“Just one kiss. Please, Hermosa. I miss your lips against mine. I miss touching you.” Miguel leaned down as his lips brushed against your neck before leaving one kiss. You turn around, cheeks flushed as you try to give him a serious look but fail. “Like I said before, we can’t.”
Miguel smirks as he takes your chin softly. “You distracted me all day today at work. I could barely get anything done.”
You smile as you take the hand on your chin and give it a loving squeeze. “Dinner is ready.”
After having a nice dinner with Miguel and Gabi, as she tells him about your day together, you decide it’s time to leave. Miguel walks you to the front door as he takes out his wallet. You put your hand over his, stopping him from taking out any money.
“I don’t need any money. Please, I don’t want it. I really loved spending time with her. She’s the sweetest thing. You have an amazing daughter, Miguel. I’ll see you tomorrow.” You smile before opening the door and leaving.
Miguel stood there, brows slightly furrowed. He felt his heart skip a beat at your last words before leaving. Until now, his feelings for you have only been lustful. But now he’s beginning to feel more for you. He’s never felt this way for anyone. He groaned in slight annoyance. Now it would be even harder for him to stop his advances of making you his.
————
Two weeks have passed, and you have gotten into a routine with the O’Hara’s. You would come in the afternoon to hang out with Gabi until Miguel came home from work and had dinner with you. Sometimes you made dinner, sometimes Miguel would if he came home earlier, or he would get takeout for the three of you.
Today was a little different. Miguel had come home earlier than usual and found you and Gabi in the kitchen making homemade cookies. He found you both covered in flour and frosting, both laughing when you saw him walk in with a surprised face.
“Want to frost cookies with us?” You ask him. Miguel smiled as he rolled up his sleeves and stood on the other side of Gabi.
“Daddy, you're putting too much frosting on the cookie.” Giggled Gabi as she saw her father drown the sugar cookie in orange frosting.
“I guess I did.” He chuckled as he looked down at his daughter. He laughed when he saw his daughter’s face covered in frosting. He grabbed a napkin, kneeled down, and wiped her face. Gabi then dipped her finger in some frosting and put it on her father’s nose. Seeing Miguel’s surprised face made you and Gabi laugh.
“Oh, this is funny to you both.” Miguel then put frosting on your nose. Now making the O’Hara’s chuckle at your facial reaction.
“Very funny.” You laugh as you get a napkin and wipe your face. You then go up to Miguel and, with the napkin, wipe away the frosting from his face. Your eyes met his, and your breath hitched when you noticed a difference in his eyes. They held more than lust. His eyes held something more for you.
You looked away, breaking your gaze. “Look at us. Guess we should all get cleaned up.” You chuckle as you look at yourself, Gabi, and Miguel, all covered in flour, frosting, and sprinkles.
All three of you go upstairs as Miguel starts a bath for Gabi.
“I’ll be there in a minute, Princesa. I’m just going to show y/n where the other shower is.” He tells Gabi before he leads you down the hall into the master bedroom and straight to the master bath.
“Miguel, why are we in your bathroom? I know that you have more than two bathrooms in this house.”
Miguel smirked after turning on the shower. “My shower has the best water pressure. You can take a shower while I help Gabi wash up. Unless you want to wait a bit, we can shower together.” Miguel walked up to you as his eyes trailed up and down your body.
“Sorry, O’Hara. You’re not getting a peep show.” You smirked. Miguel chuckled as he put his hands up in surrender before leaving.
He was right. The water pressure was perfect. As you wash off the flour and frosting, your mind wonders about memories of Miguel two years ago. The hot water rushed against both your bodies as you felt his lips on your skin, his hands trailing over you, lowering one down to your sensitive lips.
You snapped back to reality as you turned the shower handle too cold to knock some sense into you.
After everyone was showered and dressed, it was time for Gabi to go to bed. Sometime during the middle of the week, Gabi asked if both you and Miguel would tuck her into bed and say good night before you left.
As you entered her room, you saw Miguel grab her favorite stuffed animal as he walked back over to the 5- year old jumping on her bed.
“Be careful, Mija. You could fall.” Miguel said as he picked up his giggling daughter and laid her on the bed, pulling the covers over her. You sat beside Miguel on the bed as you helped tuck her in. You noticed she dropped her stuffed animal on the floor, so you picked it up and put it beside her. You smiled lovingly at her as she yawned and eyes drooped.
“Goodnight, Gabi. Sweet dreams.”
“Goodnight, y/n. Goodnight, Daddy.”
“Goodnight, princess. Sleep well.”
You both watched her fall asleep before quietly standing up and leaving her room. You both walked downstairs and grabbed your things before heading to the front door.
“You know, it’s pretty late. You could sleep here tonight.” Miguel suggested as he gave you the usual goodbye hug, which started the second night you began to come over.
“Goodnight, Miguel.” You giggled as you hugged him, but not before standing on your toes and kissing his cheek as a goodbye.
Miguel stood frozen in shock from your little kiss. Of course, you had already snuck off and left before he could come to his senses. He smiled as he touched his slightly flushed cheek where your lips once were.
————-
Another week passed, and it was family game night at your house. Of course, it wasn’t just your family but the O’Haras, Stephanie, and your boyfriend, Tyler. Since you started hanging out more at Miguel’s house. You’ve barely gone to hang out with Tyler, which has put a bit of tension in your relationship.
“Hey, I was wondering if you wanted to go to the bar and watch the basketball game tomorrow?” Tyler sat beside you on the sofa, wrapping his arm around your shoulders.
“Sure, oh wait. I have to take a rain check. I offered to take Gabi to soccer practice and then drive her to a friend’s house for a sleepover. Maybe next time.” Your lips turned into a frown as you heard him scoff and remove his arm from around you as he sipped his beer. You rolled your eyes and turned towards him. “What?”
“You’ve been canceling plans to spend all your time with that family. I’d say you had a thing for-” You hit his chest as a warning, a groan in pain coming from him as he lightly glared at you.
“I offered to help him babysit since he is my father’s best friend. He’s a busy single father who couldn’t find anyone to help take care of his daughter. Get your head out of the clouds and from those stupid accusations.” You glared at him, fuming. Thank god you were the only two in the living room before everyone came in.
The doorbell rang, indicating the O’Haras were here. Having enough of your boyfriend, you excuse yourself as you open the door.
“Y/n!” Gabi ran over and hugged you.
“Hey there, my little bug.” You happily returned her hug before letting her enter the house to greet everyone else.
“Hi.” You smile up at Miguel, who smiles back at you as he gives you a warm side hug. He leans down and whispers, “Hi, Hermosa.” You playfully roll your eyes and return his hug before entering the living room.
Still mad at Tyler, you sit between Gabi and your brother Jack. Noticing you weren’t sitting next to him, he rolled his eyes and took another sip from his beer.
“Boyfriend troubles?” Your brother mumbled to you. “Yep.” You sigh as you steal your brother’s beer and take a sip before returning it to him.
“Hey, I don’t want your germs.” Grumbled your brother as he took a sip from his beer.
“Grow up.” You chuckle.
“Attention, everyone! It’s time to pick teams! Pick a piece of paper from the hat, whatever number you have, pair it with the people with the same number.” Said your mother as she passed the hat along. When you picked out a folded paper, you opened it and got ‘3.’
“Who got three?”
“I did!” Gabi rose, hands up in excitement.
“Me too.” Miguel smiled at you as he showed you his paper.
After the teams were made, the first game started, Pictionary.
Winner: Team O’Hara, Gabi came up with the name and said that your last name would be O’Hara for the night. A few unspeakable thoughts appeared in your head.
Next game: Trivia
Winner: Team O’Hara
The next and final game was a scavenger hunt around the house.
“Ok, next clue. What’s round and silver that whistles when hot? God, these are easy. Who wrote these clues?” Miguel chuckled as he led the way to the kitchen.
“Who do you think?” You chuckle as you walk behind him with Gabi holding your hand.
“Sam.” Miguel chuckled as he made his way to the kettle and opened up the lid, finding the next clue as he grabbed one of the slips and handed it to you. Reading it, you laugh.
“We could have done this blindfolded and still be in the lead.”
You go to the living room where your brothers and Tyler sit, trying to figure out the second clue. Walking to the fireplace, you move a log and find the paper with glitter on it, indicating you won.
“We won!” You say in excitement as you join in a group victory hug with Miguel and Gabi.
“Thats game! Team O’Hara wins game night!” Your father said, earning groans from Team Bud Light, your brothers, and Tyler’s team.
“Of course we had no chance when the geniuses were all put on one team.” Grumbled Tyler.
“You’re just jealous.” You tell him, which makes Tyler smirk as he grabs you by the waist and pulls you into his lap, and gives you a kiss on the lips. You push his chest away and move off his lap, sitting next to him as you fix your hair.
“Tyler! There are other people here.” Your cheeks flushed, embarrassed by his actions. He wrapped an arm around your shoulders, bringing you closer to him. “I just want to tell everyone that you're my girl.” Tyler chuckled before he briefly glared at Miguel as if he was giving him a warning. Miguel grinned, not caring. As he knew who y/n truly favored.
After talking for a bit longer, Miguel noticed Gabi getting sleepy as it was getting late. He picked her up and said his goodbyes to everyone before walking back home.
“Daddy?”
“Si, Princesa.”
“I don’t like y/n’s boyfriend.”
“Why is that?” Miguel chuckled at his daughter’s words, amused.
“He took her away every time she tried to spend time with us after the game. I didn’t like it.” Gabi rubbed one of her eyes as she yawned.
“Yeah, I didn’t like it either.”
———-
It was 4pm when you arrived at the soccer field to pick up Gabi. As you parked your car and got out, you walked to the field where you saw from afar a group of 5-year-olds huddled up before they dispersed to find their parents.
“Y/n!” Gabi ran up and hugged you, which you gladly returned.
“Hey there! Are you excited for your first sleepover?”
“Yeah!” Gabi cheered as you took her hand and walked to your car.
After driving back to Miguel’s house, where he gave you a spare key, you got Gabi cleaned up and dressed before driving to her friend’s house.
Getting out of the car, you grab her sleeping bag and backpack as you walk up to the house. “Now remember, Gabi, ask Ms. Johnson to call me or your father if you need us, ok?”
“Ok!” Gabi smiled as she bounced on her feet, very excited about her first sleepover. You smiled down at her before knocking on the door. When it opened, the woman’s face grew slightly disappointed when she saw you but her emotions turned to happiness when she saw Gabi.
“Hi, Gabi darling. I’m happy to have you over. Sofia and Rachel are super excited for the sleepover. Come in.” She opens the door for both of you.
“Bye, y/n!” Gabi hugged you before going to play with her friends in their room.
“So, O’Hara likes them young, I see.” Said Ms. Johnson.
“Excuse me?” You scrunch your eyebrows in confusion.
“Oh, I’m just saying I didn’t know Miguel liked to date college girls.”
“Ok, first off, nice to meet you too. And second off, I’m not dating Miguel. I'm Gabi's babysitter.” You say as you narrow your eyes slightly at the woman whose eyes widen by her mistake.
“Oops, my bad. Good to know he’s still single. Those hot rich single fathers are hard to find.” The woman chuckled, which only made things more awkward and annoying for you.
“Forgot to mention I’m also a close family friend of his. I’ll make sure to mention your fondness for him. Nice meeting. Bye.” You say before leaving and getting back into your car.
God, some of these suburban housewives are insane.
After returning to your childhood home for some last-minute packing, you decided to sleep at your shared apartment with Tyler. You both moved in there together before you went off to Europe.
As soon as you unlocked the door and stepped inside, you knew something was wrong. All the hairs on your body stood up as your stomach twisted into knots. You saw two used wine glasses on the kitchen counter and clothes sprawled along the floor leading to the bedroom.
Inching your way closer, the moans from a woman could be heard coming from the other room. Your mind knew what was happening, yet you still wanted to check, a small hint of doubt forming inside you. Maybe it’s just your imagination.
As soon as you open the door to your once-shared bedroom, you see your boyfriend fucking a random woman from behind. And since they were so in the moment, they didn’t realize you walk in. Rage filled your body as you walked back out of the bedroom, slamming the door.
That got their attention as you heard Tyler swear and call out your name as he opened the door. However, you already grabbed your bag and stormed out of the apartment. You had gotten in your car when Tyler ran out of the building half-naked. But it was too late to stop you as you drove off.
The rage subsided and was replaced with pain as you felt like you were stabbed in the chest and straight through the heart. Tears were streaming down your face, making driving slightly harder as the tears blurred your vision.
You pull into the driveway as you get out of the car, walk up to the door, and knock. A few minutes passed when the door opened, revealing Miguel in sweats and a black tank top.
“Y/n? What happened?” Miguel’s eyes widened when he saw your tears as he led you into the house and closed the door. Miguel held you against his chest as you wept. Brushing your hair back from your face. He leaned down, cupping your cheeks as he tried to wipe away your tears. It pained him to see you like this.
You stopped shedding tears as the lust began to cloud them. You wrapped your arms around his neck and pulled him into a kiss. Miguel immediately returned your kiss as he touched your hips and pulled you closer.
“Y/n…” Miguel pulled away, coming back to reality.
“Please, Miguel. I’ve missed you.” You looked up at him with want. He knew what you were asking of him. And he was gladly going to give it to you. His gaze matched your lustful one as he picked you up by your thighs, and you wrapped them around his waist. His lips captured yours into a heated kiss. He then carried you upstairs to his bedroom, where he gently laid you on his bed.
Miguel kissed your lips down to your neck and chest as he gently removed your clothes. His lips met yours again before separating as he gazed down at you with a loving smile and brushed his hand gently over your tear-stained cheek.
“I’ll take care of you tonight, mi amor.”

Word Count: 1.9k (sorry but i’ll work my way up again 💪)
Jason finally had time to check his phone. He removed any miscellaneous notifications he forgot to silent before getting to the track this morning, but he was checking for a familiar name and icon.
It was like a little surge was invading his bones. He couldn’t help smiling at your conversations, it was like he was back to a teenager nervously trying to talk to a crush, but he didn’t have a lot of experience with those.
The times he rarely did have a fling, he kept it private, left it before it could be a scandal that he would be chewed out for.
But this.
This was new. He knew it was different when he was trying to get any attempt to still make sure you were fine with being with him.
What really made his stomach churn was when he couldn’t bring you to the airport to see him off. It felt wrong to leave your place without you behind him, leaving you to kiss only him goodbye, but not asking to follow him to the airport.
He tried to brush off the feeling the entire flight, but he couldn’t squish the thought that he wanted you here. That other than a quick romance, he could talk to you about his personal life, and he was fighting to throw you on the next plane so you could watch him race.
Maybe a dramatic kiss after he won would be nice. But, that was too cliché.
While deep in his thoughts, Roy tried to peak over Jason’s shoulder, trying to see what he was looking at, but it was not smart to try that on such a tall man. All he could manage to see was an open browser with plane flights.
“You tryna leave me here by myself?” Roy calmly asked, keeping his eyes down at the phone.
Jason frowned, not surprised at the nosey man.
“You get a little friend and now you want to leave me?” Roy feigned tears, placing his hands gently onto Jason’s shoulders. “If you must, then go! I can get us a championship. I can handle that for us.”
Jason sighed, closing his phone.
“Shouldn’t you be watching Lian? Why are you bothering me and what are you talking about?” He asked.
“Lian’s always with the crew, she’s more interested in the buttons than behind the wheel—don’t try to distract me, I’m not stupid, Jaybird. I knew you were a two timer.” Roy pointed an accusing finger into Jason’s face. “I saw that interview and I know that look in your eyes. I even commented on that video.”
“Uh, huh.” Jason ignored him and walked away, this time looking back at his phone to try to type, not reacting to Roy’s antics.
“I’m surprised your brothers haven’t bothered you about it. Dick’s gonna be jealous when I tell him you’re trying to get a flight back for love.” Roy aimlessly followed Jason, adjusting the cap on his head as he playfully wiggled his brows.
“That dickwad is probably too busy hiding behind a badge for that. He needs to find better things to do than bother me.” Jason stopped pacing, looking back at the red hair tail that can’t seem to get off him. “And you need to watch your daughter and also stop bothering me.”
“That’s what I’m here for.” Roy sung. “Just me and you on this track forever, plus Lian, never leaving each other while we embrace—with Lian, of course.” He opened his arms for a hug.
Jason gave Roy an impassive look, not bothered to even give him an expression.
Still with open arms and a smile on his face, Roy waited before a small voice shouted out.
“JayJay! JayJay!” Lian’s small shout catches Roy’s attention.
“My Lian!” Roy reached out to grab his daughter walking with one of the crew members, finally relieving them from their babysitting duty. “No Jaybird today, Lian, he’s trying to run away.” He cooed happily to his daughter as she laughed, large noise cancelling headphones were bouncing around her neck and a bright smile spread on her face as he booped her nose.
“I’m not—the flight isn’t for me.” Jason sighed, not willing to look at Roy fully in the eyes.
Roy’s eyes widened as he heard the admission. A small silence lingered.
Lian broke the pause by reaching out for Jason. She made small grabby hands before he immediately gave in to grab her underneath her arms, settling on his chest.
She whispered a small “JayJay” before laying her head down, exhausted from an hour of playing while Roy and Jason were busy racing in the practice sessions.
While Jason patted Lian’s back soothingly, Roy watched as the two most important people in his life were embracing. It brought a smile to his face.
“I’m happy for you, Jaybird.”
It was all that was said between the two as Lian closed her eyes, but Jason felt content. He was given support.
—
“I’m never afraid of the track, it’s the fastest you can ever be on the ground and I wanna be the best.” Jason spoke to the interviewer on your TV screen, the Australian sun surrounding his face.
“How important is this race for you?” The off-screen voice asked Jason.
“Every race is important. I’ve gotten RedBull multiple wins these past couple years and I want to add another one. I feel better than I’ve ever have.”
You sat on your couch, dinner in your lap, watching your partner on screen wave goodbye, giving one final dazzling smile while taking off to his car.
He looked like he was in his element, a kind of happiness that only sprouted in him from Formula 1. A kind of motivation used for racing.
“Welcome to another race of the Formula One World Championship. What a great weekend to continue a new season.” The introduction boomed from your TV, setting up the Sunday excitement, ready to end another race weekend.
Ding. Ding. Your phone notifications rung next to you as you took a bite of your dinner.
You: I told you to hold a peace sign to the camera, now you owe me dinner
(Handsome) Mr. Todd: *thumbs down your message*
You laugh at your phone screen.
You: Loser
(Handsome) Mr. Todd: *thumbs down your message*
You: Send me a picture of you in your gear
As you wait for the reply, your TV catches your attention. A driver you’ve never seen before now standing in front of the microphone.
“Todd? How is that guy a threat? He just hides behind the RedBull emblem, but he’s nothing but another racer.” The raspy voice sent a chill through you.
“Jason Todd is a back-to-back four-time World Champion, do you plan on breaking that streak?” The interviewer pressed on.
“Ha! Like that’s hard, did you see how he crashed his vehicle last year? Bet he wouldn’t want that happening again, huh?” The man’s voice twisted something in you.
Formula 1 did have it’s competitive moments, but how was someone like this rude man competing?
Ding.
(Handsome) Mr. Todd: please I am more than my body
Despite Jason’s words, a flattering picture of him came in. A good look at his hands and body in the RedBull uniform. Gosh, you missed him.
You saved the photo with a smile on your face. A new lock screen.
You: don’t injure that pretty face of yours <3
“Thank you for the interview, good luck on your race.” The interviewer finished up, stepping in front of the camera to replace the rude driver.
You glanced up to get one final look at the screen, watching the rude racer walk away, expecting him to get bombarded with another interviewer and a brand new set of cameras, but he walked in a different direction, away from the crowd.
You were confused at the racer breaking the long chain of interviews happening on race day.
At the very edge of the camera, you could see the racer joining another man, adorned in a suit, turning his head sideways, but you couldn’t recognize who that was.
You whipped out your laptop. Maybe you missed an upcoming rookie the last year or there must’ve been a change you missed in the racing industry.
Your mind buzzed remembering the blurry man putting his arm around the rookie racer before your ringtone shouted at you.
Life is a Highway started to play as Jason’s contact picture brightened on the screen, a nice side view picture of his smiling face when you took him out for dinner.
You quickly picked up.
“Hey Jay! How’s Australia?” You gleefully asked, contrasting glancing back and forth to the TV screen and your laptop before the camera changed to the racetrack, no longer seeing the mysterious men.
“It’s fun when Roy isn’t talking his ass off.” Jason’s voice faded as he yelled at Roy to back off from him. “I gotta race soon, but I just wanted to hear ya before I had to leave. God, I miss you.”
Your breath hitched hearing Jason be so direct. You tried to reason with yourself that it was from the adrenaline before the race, but it made you feel like you were floating off the couch.
“I miss you too. Maybe when you have a chance to get back here, we can go out to eat like we normally do.” You suggested, a little more brightness in your voice.
You watched the compilation of Jason’s previous races playing on the screen. You saw him zooming down the narrow lanes at horrifying speeds as you heard him softly speak to you through your phone.
“I wanna fly you out here before then. I mean, I’ll be down for Vegas, but that’s too long. I gotta get you down here next to me.” Jason’s voice smoothly went in and out of your ears.
Your felt yourself reddening at his delightful words to you.
“I’ll see what I can do about work leave, but maybe i’ll take a couple sick days?” You spoke to Jason, happiness surging through you. “I would really love to fly out there.”
A loud engine roared through your phone, cutting off Jason’s voice briefly.
“Shit, sorry about that, I gotta go. I lo—” Jason hesitated before he was about to end the call, following up by several louder engines revving, overshadowing his voice despite how close he was to the phone. “I, uh, I’ll call you later.”
“Stay safe, Jay.”
“Wouldn’t want it any other way.”
Beep.
The call clicked to end. No longer hearing the bustle around Jason as he was inching closer to his race.
Your heart beat rapidly in your ears as you continued to hold your phone in your hand despite the call ending moments ago.
You can’t assume.
There are numerous words that start with that sound. Maybe it was a mistake?
—
“What the fuck, Roy?” Jason yelled over Roy revving his engine multiple times. “I was almost done—will you stop—Roy!”
Roy lifted his foot, no longer making the obnoxious noise.
“Get your helmet on, we gotta go. If you win, then you can talk on the phone all ya want.” Roy was ready to pull onto the track. “Unless you want to stay on the phone and I can win this for us?”
Roy laughed as he sped off.
Jason sighed in disbelief as he walked back to get make sure the final checks on his car were done.
Roy was the only one who could compete with him on the track, so maybe his words weren’t just to instigate him.
He needed to focus because he wanted to see you and win while you were with him.
Jason put on his helmet, getting any last-minute safety precautions checked before he got the signal to drive out.

Kinktober vs Flufftober 2024
“Sam! Sam, stop! You’re going to kill him!” You desperately try to drag Sam off a fellow hunter. You don’t like the hunter, but the last thing you need is rumors spreading that Sam Winchester killed another hunter. “Sam, please.”
“He tried to touch what’s mine!” Sam is like an animal. Not only because of his soullessness but also because the hunter tried to hit on you during a get-together to celebrate the life of a deceased hunter. “No one touches what’s mine.”
You huff. It’s not like you’re together or shit. Sam is simply obsessed with fucking you. There’s no love or even feelings between the two of you.
“SAMMY!” Dean and Cas finally come to your aid. They grab Sam by his arms and drag him off the hunter. “What the fuck!”
“He tried to grope my girl’s ass.” Sam tries to apologize that he tried to beat the life out of the man. “No one touches what’s mine, Dean. Not even you.”
“Sam, get your shit together,” Dean snaps at his brother. Lately, he’s struggling to see Sam as his brother. Death brought Sam’s soul back, but they are still trying to figure out how to turn the new version back into his former self.
Sam squares his jaw. “Let go of me, or you’ll get a taste of my strength too.” Dean shakes his head. The thing possessing his brother is so unlike the Sam he raised. “Y/N, come.”
He holds out his hand for you. You could tell him to fuck off because he flirted with one of the huntresses, but it would only cause Sam to go rampant and find a reason to fight with someone else.
“Sam,” you huff when he drags you toward the back of the place, away from the crowd. “Where are we going?”
“I need to fuck you,” he states, ignoring that you wiggle in his tight grip. “You need to feel it in your bones that your holes are all mine.”
“Says the guy flirting with some bitch moments ago. You’re only angry because the guy was nice to me.” You bite back.
He stops in his tracks to look you up and down. His eyes darken, and you bite your tongue. One wrong word and he fucks you right there, in front of everyone.
“He touched you,” he snarls. “I told her to go down on her knees and suck me off if she wants my help on a hunt.” Sam shrugs. “She was an uptight bitch. Not wet and soft like you.”
“What the—?” You can’t believe Sam sometimes. He tells you he wanted some bitch to suck him off after he almost beat a man to death because the hunter dared to talk to you. “You’re unbelievable!”
“I know, kitten,” he purrs and presses you against the wall. He slips one hand between your bodies to hastily unbutton your pants. Your eyes round. Sam can’t be serious. “That’s why you’re always so needy.”
“I hate you so much,” you argue, but don’t fight his hand slipping inside your pants to pinch your clit. “Sam, not here. Let’s go somewhere else.” You know Sam is pumped up and needs to release some steam. “Please.”
“I love it when you beg me.” He presses his lips to yours, swallowing the tiny moans escaping your lips. Sam smirks when you buck your hips, silently begging him for more. He hums against your lips as he slips his index finger inside your cunt. “Already so wet for me.”
“S-am,” you whimper against his lips. “Pl-ease. Somewhere else.”
“I want them to know you’re mine,” he growls and removes his hand. You don’t argue. Fighting with Sam is a lost cause. Instead, you let him grab your hand and guide you out of the bar.
Sam leads you toward a car you don’t recognize. He twirls you around to bend you over the hood. Sam rips your still unbuttoned jeans down your legs, taking your panties with it.
“That’s how I like you.” He slaps your ass, roughly groping your globes. If you weren’t in a parking lot, he’d spank your ass raw tonight. “Always so ready to take my cock.”
Sam uses his large hand to spread your ass-cheeks. He smirks when you wiggle in his grip. You know he wants to prove your ass belongs to him. Literally. A warm liquid hits the crack of your ass, making you whimper. “Oh, kitten. This ass is mine.” He hums. “It opens up like a slutty hole to me.”
“Sam, not here,” you try one last time, but Sam throws the empty bottle of lube over his shoulder. He unzips his pants and slaps his cock against your ass.
“You’ll let me fuck this tight asshole and take it like a good slut. Maybe I’ll let you cum this time too.” Sam laughs when you hiss his name. He ignores you’re angry at him for flirting with the other woman. While you lie on the car, giving in to his demands once again, he runs his hard cock up and down the crack of your ass to get lube all over his massive erection. “You’re my whore.”
He presses the tip inside, making you hiss. It’s always a struggle to take Sam up your ass. At least he’s less impatient tonight and slowly inches his way inside. His hands grip your hips hard enough to hurt.
“Fuck, Sam…”
“Yeah, I’m going to fuck this hole open,” he growls like the possessive caveman he turns into when it comes to fucking you. “Watch me ruin her ass.”
You don’t have time to think about his words. Sam pushes you down onto the hood of the car and holds you there as he shoves the last inches inside. You’re panting because his massive cock feels good in your tightest hole.
“You’re an ass whore. I knew it.” Sam leans over your body to whisper in your ear. “Say it. Say, I’m Sam Winchester’s anal slut.”
“I’m—” you choke out a moan when Sam slowly starts pushing in and out of your ass. He barely moves his hips, only pressing his cock into you with short strokes, but you feel immense pleasure. You don’t know why, but no matter how Sam fucks you, it always feels good. “I’m Sam Winchester’s anal slut.” You breathe out, making Sam laugh.
“Yes, you are,” he pants in your neck while his hips mercilessly crash into your ass. “Always full of my cock, only mine.”
“Yes…”
“I bet you’ll cum like the whore you are with my big cock up your ass,” he taunts. “Right? You’ll squirt like a slut because you’re my anal whore.”
You should be ashamed. Sam is fucking your ass over the hood of someone else’s car. He calls you his whore, but you couldn’t care less. The bastard ruining your ass isn’t wrong. The pressure in your ass has you tethering on the edge of an orgasm.
He’s pounding you deep, hard, and fast. Sam groans in your ear, getting more excited. His desperate groans get you more excited. Your body is ready to give in to the pleasured pain. You whimper his name, telling him to cum inside of your ass.
And he just lets go, slamming one hand between your legs to swipe left, right, left, and right until you squirt all over his hand. “Perfect whore, isn't she?”
Sam pulls out, stepping away from the car to let whoever watched him fuck your ass watch his cum drip out of your gaping hole.
“Perfect hole.”
You try to catch your breath as you lie on the car. Total spend. Sam eagerly spreads your cheeks to look at his cum. He hums before thrusting one finger inside to scoop a large amount of his cum with his finger. “Come here and have a taste.”
“Dude, I’m good over here,” the man grunts. He’s holding his bruised ribs and glares at Sam. “I don’t know what kind of sick game you’re playing, but I’m out.”
“I said,” Sam growls in the man’s direction. “Come over here and have a taste. That’s what you wanted, right? To fuck my girl’s ass.”
“Sam?” You slowly get up from the car and pull your pants back up. You turn around to watch the man Sam punched earlier stand a few feet away. “What the fuck!”
“Buddy, if you ever get close to her ass again, you’re dead,” Sam smirks darkly. He wraps his hand around the man’s throat and forces his finger inside his mouth. “That’s the closest you’ll get to my girl’s ass. Now swallow like a good boy and get lost.”
“You found a way?” You whisper to not wake Sam. After the fucked-up stunt, he pulled his brother, knocked him out. “How can I help you?”
“You need to distract him. Stay inside the room until Death arrives. It’s only a few hours; Y/N. Sammy will be back soon,” Dean gives you an apologetic look. “I know you liked this one, but...”
“Not after tonight!” You hold up your hand. “He risked my safety, Dean. If that guy was a little more..." You sniffle. “If he knocked Sam out, it would’ve ended badly for me, Dean. If we can bring the normal Sam back, I’d do anything to help you.
Screams echo through Bobby's house. You press your hand to your ears and try to blend out that Sam is suffering inside Bobby’s panic room.
Death brought his soul back and finally found a way to get the old Sam back too.
If only it weren’t so painful...
“It’s going to be alright.” You look at Dean, nodding. You don’t know if he wants to convince you or himself. “It must…”
The screams abruptly end. Death slips out of the room. He ignores you and whispers something in Dean’s ear. “I know, we will be careful.”
You gave the brothers time and space to reunite, promising to stick around for the next case. The procedure was a success. Sam is back to his old self.
What Dean didn’t tell you before Death got to work was that Sam wouldn’t remember your time together. The truth is, Sam doesn’t remember anything after he jumped into the pit.
Maybe it’s for the best. What you let his soulless version do to you was something the old Sam would never understand.
“Y/N, hey.” You look up from your book when Sam calls your name. He leans in the doorframe, eyes glued to your exposed legs. “I heard you helped Dean while I was gone.”
“Uh-yeah. Kinda,” you lie. It’s all you can do. Death warned you and the others not to tell Sam what happened over the last months. If you do, the consequences will be dire.
“Hmm…” He pushes off the doorframe, stepping inside your motel room. Sam slams the door shut and hums as you flinch at the sudden motion. His eyes are softer, and his behavior changed, but the smirk creeping on his face is not different from his soulless version’s smirk. “I see, you liked riding my dick.”
“What? I—what?” You splutter. He can’t know. It’s impossible. Death said Sam won’t remember a thing.
“I can’t remember much, but the videos on my phone helped me. I must say, you have been a good little slut for me.” He laughs darkly as you stare at him like a deer in headlights. “How about we refresh my memory and you let me fuck that pretty cunt and ass again?”

10 Seconds - Floyd
Author Notes: I'm not gonna lie, I had a lot of fun writing this. This fic was pretty much entirely inspired by a scene in chapter 111 in Akagami no Shirayukihime (Snow White with The Red Hair). After I found out that Floyd and Obi had the same voice actor, the temptation was to great for me to resist. As per usual, reader is gender-neutral. I hope you enjoy!
Type: Fluff/ flirtation/ romance/ kind of spoofy/ Reader does have a pushy admirer so be warned on that note
Word Count: 1890
There was something about persistent wanna-be lovers that made one nervous enough to look to even the most shady sources of help. Including Octaveinelle.
“So this young man has been bothering you for…?” Jade trailed off as he looked up from the glass he was currently polishing to where I sat, right in front of him, at the bar.
“A little over a month now, I think.” I frowned as I recounted the numerous times the Pomefiore junior in question had just ‘happened’ to be right where I would inevitably run into him.
I would be trapped there, having to interact with him and dodging his advances until I was saved by some passerby or thought up a reasonable excuse to leave.
I could’ve gone to Vil for help, considering it was one of his dorm members. But I also didn’t entirely want to put my annoyingly persistent and considerably pushy admirer through quite that much sorrow.
I did, however, want this handled, and me turning him down numerous times as politely as possible simply wasn’t cutting it. Which was why I went to Octavinelle to seek the advice of the infamous tweels. After all, they handled a lot of Azul's issues. Surely they would have advice for handling one persistent admirer.
Floyd let out a low whistle from behind me, causing me to twist slightly to glance at the young man who ought to be sweeping but was now just propped up on the broom’s handle as he shook his head, “Stubborn guy.”
His eyes found mine as a grin crossed his face, and I realized very quickly that I didn’t want to know exactly what Floyd was thinking. That wasn’t really one of his nice grins….
“Come now, Floyd. We can’t exactly blame the poor fool for being quite so smitten with our darling little Prefect, can we?” I almost grimaced at Jade’s teasing tone as I turned in time to catch his mocking, sharp-toothed smile.
“Guys,” I didn’t even bother fighting the whine that slipped into my tone. “I just want some advice. I can’t get him to go away, and I’ve already tried being blunt.”
Jade smiled in an indulgent manner down at me before a frown crossed his face, “I suppose it is rather problematic and concerning if he’s been at it this long.”
He sat the glass down with a tiny clink on the bar as he continued to ponder my plight, “You said he’s a Pomefiore student?”
I nodded, wondering exactly what Jade was thinking as Floyd slipped up next to me, propping himself on the bar, “Should I just scare him off? That’d probably do it.”
Floyd sounded perfectly willing to do just that as he looked at me with that sharp-toothed grin of his before looking towards his brother.
But he was soon frowning in confusion as Jade started to shake his head with a slight frown, “No, if he’s as determined as I fear, then I doubt that would solve the problem for little more than three days.”
That mocking smile appeared on Jade’s face again, even though he wasn’t actually looking at either me or his brother, as he continued, “Besides. Those Pomefiore boys are the schooling sort. Always flitting about in a group. If we tried aggression, he’d just come back with his friends, and that would make things more difficult for you, wouldn’t it, Prefect?”
He looked towards me as he finished, and I nodded glumly, “A squad probably would make it tougher.”
Especially since Pomefiore squads were known to be aggressive. Turning him down in front of his posse could be risky at best.
A chuckle slipped from the vice-housewarden’s lips as he smiled at me, “Now, now. There’s no need to make such a face. The solution is really quite simple, isn’t it?”
I perked up at his words, looking at him hopefully before I frowned once I noticed his grin, “What’s it gonna cost?”
The twins laughed together, their voices joining in a strange harmony that made me tense ever-so-slightly.
“Oh, it’ll be on the house this time. After all, this will be most amusing for both of us.” Jade’s words seemed to surprise Floyd as much as they did me.
Unperturbed by our obvious confusion, Jade leaned forward with an undoubtedly conspiratorial grin. Propping himself on his elbows as he gestured both of us closer with a single flick of his long fingers, “Listen closely…..”
And that was what had brought me to this moment, as I let out a quiet exhale before rounding the corner.
I didn’t even have to worry about setting the guy up. I knew exactly where he’d be.
Propped up on the wall in that careful pose he was always in when he was waiting for me to come and just ‘happen’ to bump into him.
And sure enough, there he was. Leaning against the wall with one arm raised so that he had me slightly caged in from the very second I rounded the corner.
“Prefect! What a surprise,” His perfectly white teeth flashed almost blindingly, and I fought not to gag at the raw amount of perfume he was wearing.
It was a good thing he hadn’t brought his posse; I probably would’ve passed out from the raw amount of perfume that would’ve been in the air.
But I smiled. Pretending to be surprised and not at all frustrated by his persistent, unwanted affections as I carefully went back through the plan that Jade had laid out in my head.
Interact with him like everything was normal while waiting until reinforcements came, and then follow those very simple directions that Jade had given.
So I waited. Awkwardly exchanging pleasantries and smiling up at the young man who now leaned increasingly closer despite how much I would like him to say far away. He was no doubt about to drop some sort of new line that was intended to sweep me off my feet but would be far more likely to make me grimace.
And right as he opened his mouth with a grin that spoke of some very misplaced confidence, I heard the exact thing I’d been waiting for.
“Shrimpy~” Floyd’s sing-song call came from behind me, and I turned so fast that I almost missed the deep frown that appeared at impressive speeds on my admirer’s face.
“Floyd!” I didn’t have to fake my joy at seeing him, though I couldn’t say the same for him considering that Floyd himself looked entirely bored as he looked towards the Pomefiore junior that now stood stiffly silent. Already frustrated by the mere presence of Floyd.
For a brief moment, I was honestly worried about how well Jade’s scheme was going to go over until Floyd’s gaze shifted and his eyes met mine. Because then there was an entire change to his person.
His gaze softened ever so slightly, and his lips twitched up in an absentminded smile as he walked over, all but cooing at me affectionately, “There you are.”
He didn’t stop until he was right next to me, looking down at me, and then I knew the moment of truth was upon us.
I could hear Jade’s amused voice in my head as I braced myself, swallowing as I recalled his words: “Ten seconds. You will need to stare into each other’s eyes for ten seconds. But that’s all it will take.”
Floyd was far calmer than I was as he slipped off his blazer and draped it over my shoulders, blocking the cool breeze that came through the open window.
His voice was quieter than usual, though still playful as he spoke, “There you go; can’t have you getting cold.” And that was my cue that we were beginning.
One.
My hand reached up to tug his oversized jacket a little closer around my body, and my hand brushed lightly against his fingers that lingered at my shoulders.
Two. Three. Four.
I twisted just a little bit more so that I could look at him better as his hand slid down my arm so that his arm was wrapped around my shoulders.
Five.
It was already getting sort of awkward to keep staring for this long into Floyd’s mismatched eyes for this long. But now I was beginning to think more about the color of his irises than the actual situation we were in.
Six. Seven.
One was a yellow color. Not a sickly yellow, but rather it was a warmer color that made me feel oddly safe considering the young man I was looking up at. The other eye was a surprisingly gentle olive that was also welcomingly familiar and spoke of how, in certain moments, Floyd himself could actually be quite gentle.
Eight. Nine.
I could feel numerous people staring at us, and I was fairly certain that one of them was definitely Jade. He was probably utterly delighted by how uniquely embarrassing this really was. Because even though I’d been prepared to feel a little self-conscious, I hadn’t been expecting to be this flustered. Especially since it was just Floyd….
Ten.
Floyd’s smile grew by just a fraction, and then he blinked, “I reckon I’ll see you later. I know you can’t miss your class. Good little student that you are~” He let go of my arm with an affectionate squeeze as he continued to look down at me. But this time with amusement in his gaze and a teasing lilt to his voice.
I swallowed down my overwhelming shyness as I looked away, blinking as I attempted to force my recovery by focusing on his teasing.
But even then, my voice wobbled as I quipped back, not quite able to look back up at him, “Unlike you, I actually have to study to keep my grades up.”
Out of my peripheral vision, I could tell he was fully grinning now, “Aww, if you ever need help, you can just ask. If you're nervous about Azul, I can help you out.”
He leaned down and into my line of sight so that he could wink at me, and I let out an exhale. Reminding myself that this was Floyd I was dealing with. Not some incredibly romantic male lead who was here to sweep me off my feet and actually be successful.
Which brought me back to my admirer, who was still standing there, staring in open-mouthed shock.
“Ex- Excuse me, I lost track of time with Floyd and really do need to get to class now,” I was still flustered enough that I stammered slightly before I flashed him an apologetic grin before I trotted off.
As I fled the scene, I passed a chuckling Jade and mouthed a quick, ‘Thank you,’ before hurrying on. Attempting to outrun the oddly shy sensation I now felt at the thought of being near Floyd and entirely missing what happened behind me as I fled the scene.
“You haven’t gotten anywhere in a month, and it only took me ten seconds.” So saying, Floyd glanced down at the Pomefiore student, who almost immediately puffed up with indignance that quickly deflated as Floyd grinned in a way that perfectly displayed his too-sharp teeth.
“You might as well just try somewhere else, ‘cause you aren’t going to be stealing Shrimpy away from me anytime soon.”
