These itsy-bitsy A7 books are three copies of white queen, red heart and snow white, blood red by @ofgeography

One copy was for me, one was send as a gift to the author, and one is for Goose @imaginariumpress who is generously helping me with actually delivering author’s copies for Fanfiction Writer’s Appreciation Day this year.

🩸 The color scheme was right there in the prompt, so here are the bloody tiny books.

🩸 The covers are white cotton hand dyed/painted with red ink; the same ink was used to paint the edges (I wanted at least some bleed, and ink does that);

🩸 Title pages feature the dark forest and the dwarf caverns;

🩸 The fancy drop caps and the page numbers are bleeding. I really love this effect for vampire stories, it’s so extra!

🩸 But probably not as extra as typesetting the entire book in blackletter, but it felt appropriate for the dark fairy tale vibe the stories got going on.

I had a lot of fun with this project, and I really recommend checking out the stories if you somehow haven’t already!

thinking about the character again (cinderpelt) and it's likely unintentional and a result of either her shifting narrative role from young go getter to wise mentor or a shift in how the books display their own politics but i find something really tragic in-universe in how she develops from a character who will actively and willingly break the warrior code when it conflicts with her own morals (immediately lying to cover for graystripe and silverstream, acting in direct defiance of her leadership to nurse littlecloud and whitethroat back to health) but overtime through her role she gradually grows more god-fearing and pious and embodies somewhat of a "starclan is always right, even when they are cruel, and we need to accept that" position

In my excitement to ply this cotton thread I forgot that it means im now chained to this ply bracelet for the next Long While because im too afraid to take it off and ruin it

In my defense the thread is very fine.

I had actually planned to keep spinning on this one and see how much it will hold but I uh. Spilled some mulled wine on it. So now I need to clean it off and also definitely oil it again. So I figured I might as well see my new WPI.

Also finished up spinning this pink cotton sliver. Dyed... I suppose technically by me ? I bought this red flax several years ago and was so disgusted by how much the color came off that I decided to put some white cotton sliver in (after several rinses and drains of a small sample of the linen) for 20 minutes or so, and this was the result. And then I didn't do anything with it for ages because I've only recently begun to understand cotton spinning.

But now it's done (except for blocking). Approximately 22 yards, and now I once again have my favorite long spindle back.

From that spin I learnt that cotton sliver is just terrible and I should always prep it another way, because ugh. Result is nice though.

i imagine Watchers can spawn food bc they know how it's made, like, every single component, i think if they offered him a taco he'd be genuinely impressed, like, its so much to remember.
