Day 4

Up early (again) to beat the long queues for the Hornblower Cruise - the Canadian version of Maid of the Mist - up to the bottom of the falls. First there was the obligatory breakfast which didn’t disppoint and then we strolled up to the boats. Every activity at Niagara seems to have a different colour poncho and today’s fashion accessory came in a lovely raspberry colour. There are no pictures that would do justice to the noise and the view at the bottom of the falls only to say it is very noisy and very wet. Once we disembarked we strolled up Clifton Hill which is one of the main tourist streets in Niagara. A quick Dairy Queen treat followed by a game of mini golf at what is supposedly the biggest mini golf course in Canada.

We spotted the Mario Kart based go kart track and so the 4 youngest had a go before we headed back to our hotel for a quick rest. After a quick 40 minute down time we were back on the go this time heading for the White Water Walk (North America’s wildest stretch of water) - a level 6 rapid in which plenty have people have died trying to navigate - it is no longer attempted. It was then a quick trip round to the Whirlpool Aero car which is a 102 year old cable car across Niagara gorge. A great couple of days was finished off by watching the fireworks.
