Happy June!
To celebrate the fact that we are now officially one month away from the start of AU Roulette, have a post detailing the 36 AUs included in this year's challenge -- or don't, if you'd rather be surprised.
This year's AUs have been curated to be intentionally broad, in the hopes that they will encourage unique takes on each prompt and the creativity of the authors participating. You are welcome to write anything that falls under the umbrella of your assigned AUs, whether it's an original universe, a fusion inspired by another fandom, or something else entirely.
(What's AU Roulette, some of you might be asking? An explanation can be found here, along with the link to sign-up!)
Without further ado -- the AU list, under a cut:
Roleswap - Maybe you want to switch two characters' places, do a class-swap for a D&D fandom, try your hand at an age-swap fic, or you have another idea.
Superhero -- Invent an original universe or do a fusion with one of the many popular big-screen superhero stories. Play it straight and give your favorite characters cool powers, or try a deconstruction of the genre. With great AUs comes great responsibility
Gothic Horror -- Castles. Ghosts. Vampires. Drama. Love that conquers Death. Take your inspiration from classic literature or a newer entry in the genre, like The Locked Tomb books. But be sure to make things spooky.
Post-Apocalypse -- Will the world end in fire or in ice? Or maybe economic collapse, war, zombies, or one of many other options? You write what happens next!
Fairy-Tale -- Pick a classic tale from the Grimms, Hans Christian Andersen, Asbjørnsen & Moe, Charles Perrault, or another favorite author to inspire your AU, try out a more modern re-telling, or use fairy-tale elements to craft your own story.
High Seas -- Including but not limited to Pirate AUs and other Age of Sail adventures. Try out something more historical, or throw in as many fantasy elements as you'd like -- or a bit of both.
Time Travel -- For fixing mistakes, making things worse, or time loops. Or maybe you want to write a fusion inspired by a piece of popular time travel media, like Doctor Who.
Western -- Another AU where writers are free to do their history research or to lean into more outlandish genre conventions. Cowboys, cowgirls, and cowpokes all welcome, of course.
Mythology -- Write a story inspired by your favorite myths and legends, from a whole host of different cultures. Or maybe you'd like to try your hand at writing some epic poetry?
Coffee Shop -- A classic everyone knows and has strong feelings about. Play it straight or add a twist, whichever suits your fancy! After all, no one said where the coffee shop has to be...
College/Academia -- Are the characters in your AU students? Professors? Weary adjuncts? Throwing hands at a conference? Some mix of the above?
Theater -- Put those characters on Broadway or cast them in a disaster of a community theater production. Or a school play! All that really matters is the show must go on.
Ghost/Cryptid Hunters -- Maybe you want to write a story starring the next Scooby-Doo crew, or maybe there really is something strange in the neighborhood. Or maybe it'll never be clear what really happened -- it's your choice!
Secret Agent -- Code words, code names, you name it. Write a story about spies, cryptographers, or any other clandestine operators. Take inspiration from history or from James Bond. Just don't spill your secrets too soon.
Detective -- Whether you're writing the world's greatest detective or someone who just can't get a clue, play up the mystery! Use a classic locale like 221B Baker Street or invent your own.
Cyberpunk -- Time to write cyborg identity crises and fight the machine (literally)! Take inspiration from classic media like Neuromancer or Blade Runner or make a totally new cyberpunk universe of your own creation.
High Fantasy -- Elves and dwarves and gnomes, oh my! This AU could encompass everything from Middle Earth to D&D AUs to your favorite high fantasy books you read over and over as a kid. Or maybe you have your own spell to weave.
Band/Musicians -- Whether you decide to make the characters in your AU famous pop stars, part of an orchestra, students at a conservatory, jamming together in their garage, or otherwise musically-inclined, have fun with it!
Reporter/Journalist -- For everything from local anchors and newspaper staff to big-league investigative reporters. Write characters who'll do anything to get a scoop or with a strong sense of justice -- it's your call!
Cosmic Horror -- You don't have to love Lovecraft to get creative with this AU. Make characters comprehend the incomprehensible, send them messages from beyond the stars, and get a little creepy.
Heist -- Will you write a story about master thieves? Vigilantes righting some wrong? What's being stolen and why? Try a Leverage AU or a caper of your own making.
Space Opera -- The genre encompassing works like The Expanse, Imperial Radch, Mass Effect, and Star Wars, brimming with galactic empires, alien species, and chivalric adventures. Write a fusion set in the universe of your favorite work in the genre, or invent a new one!
Sports/Athletics -- Pick a sport, any sport -- whether a team game like hockey, an individual one like archery, a paired one like figure skating, or something a little unconventional, like roller derby or HEMA. Then it's ready, set, write!
Historical Era -- An AU type absolutely bursting with potential, from medieval romances to 1920s Prohibition AUs, to ones inspired by historical fiction like Les Miserables. Whatever era of history strikes your fancy, you can write it.
Road Trip -- Pack your favorite characters in a car and don't forget the snacks. Or maybe the spaceship, or something else if you're feeling adventurous. Where are they headed and why? Only you know the answer!
Space Exploration -- Whether you want to write modern-day astronauts, a futuristic Star Trek AU, or something inspired by the space race, the sky isn't even the limit with this AU.
Urban Fantasy -- For all your modern-with-magic settings. Write an AU inspired by something like Teen Wolf, Artemis Fowl, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, or much of Neil Gaiman's oeuvre, or invent your own world where witches and websites coexist.
Museum/Archives -- Have the characters in your AU working in the exhibits or behind the scenes, down in the collections or even as archaeologists or paleontologists. What secrets are waiting to be unearthed there?
Hospital -- A surprisingly flexible AU option -- are the characters working there, or the victims of some unfortunate accident? Or maybe it's a bit of both. Take it wherever you feel like.
Camping/Wilderness Survival -- Could be anything from a fun summer camp or camping trip to a nightmare survival scenario. Write everyone having s'mores around the campfire or something inspired by media like Yellowjackets, where they might be having... something else.
Steampunk -- A fantastic opportunity to get creative with your worldbuilding. Try your hand at some alternate history, or invent a world of airships and other flying machines of your very own.
Shapeshifter -- Can the characters in this AU turn into anything they want? Or maybe they're more limited, like selkies -- even unable to control their shapeshifting at all (can I get an "awoo" from the werewolf fans?)
Classic Literature -- An AU somewhat more dependent on fusion ideas, but still very flexible! Pick a favorite classic book or play and let it inspire your writing!
Dystopian -- Create your own awful society or let a favorite piece of media guide you, like writing a Hunger Games AU. Will the characters break the cycle, or end up trapped in it?
Renaissance Faire -- A recipe for chaos. Write a bunch or faire-goers or have the characters in your AU working at the faire! Adventures await.
Scientist/Mad Science -- Write characters as normal biologists, physicists, and chemists, the next Frankenstein, or as hapless experiments themselves!

Winter Solstice for a Modern Witch
This is the second part of my winter solstice post. This post will focus on more personal or UPG-based content rather than historical accuracy, though there will be some of that too!
Modern Winter Solstice
The winter solstice may be the shortest day of the year, but after it passes we see the days begin to get longer again. Throughout history and even now there have been many myths and celebrations associated with the solstice. Some festivals were in honor of gods, and others paid respects to the sun itself, either way, we can learn from the past to find ways to celebrate the solstice in the modern day!*
If you’re looking for info on the history of the winter solstice as well as a list of some holidays held on or around the solstice, check out this post!
Festivities and Celebrations
Feasts
Bonfires
Play in the snow
Bake or cook a sharable amount of food in honor of the giving season
Kiss under the mistletoe
Practice divination, whichever form suits your fancy
Hold or attend a get-together
Give gifts! This is something done in different cultures around this time of year and can easily be incorporated into your celebration.
Make wreaths either out of real or faux plants
Correspondences
All of these are optional and not all of them are going to be applicable. Take what you will and leave what you please~
Deities and Divinities
Boreas, Cailleach, Despoina, Marzanna, Morozko, Khione, Kuraokami, Skaði, the Great Winter God (冬大神), Tengliu, and more winter related deities.
Spirits
Yuki-onna, Jack Frost, Yeti, Barbegazi, Nisse, and more winter related spirits
Colors**
White, Silver, Blue, Indigo for the cool winter nights
Red, orange, yellow, gold for the warmth of the sun as daylight returns to us
Plants
Yew, Mistletoe, Pine, Rosemary, Holly, Ivy, and evergreens were all traditionally used across different cultures during or near the solstice or holidays.
Make sure that if you’re using real plants that you keep them away from kids and pets or you can opt for the faux versions.
Crystals/Rocks/Metals**
Snowflake obsidian (I mean, c’mon, it’s in the name)
Gold, Amber, Carnelian, Sunstone, and others related to the sun.
Clear quartz, Aventurine, Amazonite, Moonstone and others related to new beginnings as the solstice is close to the new year and marks a new season.
Offerings or Devotional Acts
Deep clean your space - not just spiritually but physically! We spend a lot more time indoors during the winter season, so you want to make sure it’s a good experience.
A plate at the table - it’s a common practice across many cultures to lay a plate out for deities or spirits.
Pray - pray to the relevant winter spirit or deity in your faith or religion.
Bring greenery indoors - this could be a Christmas tree, but you could also get some houseplants or create wreaths of festive plants and offer them to your relevant deities or spirts.
Decorate your altar with seasonal items
Burn a Yule log
Alcohol - I’m partial to mulled wine this time of year but you could also do a mulled cider or a wassail (thanks @ breelandwalker for the recipes!)
Make donations to charities and organizations or just donate to those in need.
Make oaths similar to how one would on New Year - this time of year was seen as the beginning of a new year to some, or it came close as it does in the Gregorian calendar. During the Nordic Yule oaths were made (often followed by drinking!) during festivities.

*Be aware of where your traditions and practices come from and make sure that you’re not taking from closed practices and cultures. A quick google search is usually all it takes to find out if a practice or celebration is closed or not.
**This will depend on your personal correspondence but I’ve listed some as examples!

Sarah wakes up the next morning feeling like death. 5 Hours of sleep were achieved before her alarm goes off to begin getting ready for the morning. After a long shower, she gets dressed and heads out to eat breakfast. Alex notices her demeanor when Sarah gets to their table but he decides to be quiet about it. They eat in a collective silence.
As the day goes on, Copia arrives for his second fitting. He smiles towards her and Sarah gives a droopy, tired smile back. He looks on with concern but is whisked away by Amelia to get changed into the new mockup before he could say anything.
“I hope you’re happy with the pants this go ‘round. We added more ease.” Amelia walks away to lean against a table and crosses her arms to sulk. “She said begrudgingly.”
“I do appreciate it, Amelia” Copia says smugly. “This mockup feels a lot better, I feel like I can move around this time and not worry about flashing the audience.” He walks around the studio for a few minutes. Sarah gives a small chuckle.
“Copia, what are you doing?” She asks.
“I’m trying to test the limits on this suit. I will have to leap and jump around on stage.”
Amelia knits her eyebrows together. “You look like you’re auditioning for The Ministry of Silly Walks.”
“Thank you, Amelia.” Copia deadpans.
“I think the tails were a nice addition. They make him look really dapper.” Sarah nods her head.
Amelia claps her hands together. “Ok! If this fits, then we don’t need to make any more changes? This means it’s now the fun part: choosing pretty fabric.”
Copia raises his eyebrows. “What were you thinking?”
Sarah brings over the bolts of fabric options.
“I have some cotton sateen. It’s sturdy but breathable and has a slight stretch. I think it’ll work for your stage suits. I also want to make one in a twill to try out different textures.”
Copia inspects the fabric. “These feel good. I like the red and the white fabric you have over here.” He points to a bundle on the right.
“Oh good! I was thinking of making a red, black, and white suit. Variety is the spice of life, after all. I also want to make a stage version of your cassocks but just in red.” Amelia explains.
Copia nods his head. “How soon until I come in to try on the real suit?”
Amelia blows a raspberry. “Hmm. It’ll probably take a week? We’ll have a white and black version made up by then and you can try on whichever suits your fancy.” She laughs to herself at her joke.
Copia smiles. “Perfetto.” Copia bows slightly and leaves shortly after the fabric was decided.
Sarah is tasked with the white suit while Amelia gets to work on the black. Her eyes went shifty when she was delegating the tasks. “I have a surprise for the black one. It’s on a need-to-know basis. Now, shoo.” She waives Sarah off. “Get to work.”
Over the next few days, she tries to keep a strict regimen of only sewing the suit during regular work hours and actually go to her room in the evening to sleep. On one restless night, a couple days before the suit is supposed to be ready, Sarah gets a text from Copia.
--------
Copia: 12:35 am
You’re working late again.
--------
Sarah: 12:37 am
Shhhhhh you weren’t supposed to see that! I only plan to do it this once! Just tonight, I promise. I realized I had too much to get finished and I decided to stay late to stay on track.
--------
Copia: 12:39 am
Mmhm likely story.
Copia: 12:40 am
Please, for my sake, get some sleep tonight.
--------
Sarah: 12:41 am
Wait. How come I don’t get to work late but you do?
--------
Copia: 12:43 am
Oh you don’t know? Instead of sleep-walking, I sleep-text. ;] I’m definitely sleeping right now. zzzzz
---------
On the day of the official suit fitting, Sarah wakes up so jittery with excitement to see Copia that she wakes up before her alarm goes off. Showered and dressed she heads to grab some breakfast before walking to the studio. Once Copia arrives, she walked over to greet him.
“Copia! Good morning! Are you excited to try on an actual suit?”
He looks at her and looks a bit startled. “Oh! Sarah it’s ehe… wonderful to see you again.”
Her head tilts and her eyebrows scrunch together. She feels a strange sense of deja vu. “Copia are you ok? You seem nervous. If you’re worried, I promise we didn’t make your pants tight again.”
“Oh! No no no it’s not that. I wanted to ask you something before we got started, actually.” Copia closes his eyes and takes a slight breath. “You’ve been so kind to me these past few weeks and I’ve very much enjoyed talking with you that, um,” He takes Sarah’s hands into his own. “Well, I’d like to do something for you to show my appreciation. I’d like to cook for you. Would you come to my room later tonight?”
“Oh, Copia!” She smiles. “That sounds lovely.”
“So, it’s a date?” Copia asks.
“Yes. Although,” Sarah frowns. “I don’t have very many nice outfits. I want to look nice if this will be a date.”
Copia squeezes her hands in reassurance. “You may wear your nicest jeans.” He smiles. “Do you have any food requests?”
Sarah thinks for a moment. “I’m fine with anything but I can’t eat tomatoes.” Copia makes a funny face. “They mess with my stomach.”
“Dolcezza, I am Italian. No tomatoes mean we might as well skip to desert.”
Sarah giggles. “No complaints here. I’m sure you’ll think of something.”
He looks into her eyes and they’re silent for a moment. They both give each other a nervous but excited smile.
Amelia decides to break their spell. “Lover bat! We have suits for you to try on!”
Copia sighs and let’s go of Sarah’s hands. He turns to walk towards Amelia who is holding up two suits on hangers. “What brilliant work do you have for me to try on?”
“I have before you two suits: The black one was made by me-” she leans in “which comes with a surprise- and the white one was made by Sarah.” She moves the 2 options up and down. “Pick your poison.”
Copia’s eyebrows quirk at the white suit. He looks back up to Amelia. “I’ll go with the black suit.” He turns to Sarah. “Mi dispiace Sarah but I love the idea of a surprise.”
Sarah laughs. “It’s ok. I don’t know what it is either so I’m just as curious.”
Copia takes the suit and a few minutes later he confidently struts out from the curtain and heads to Sarah and Amelia. He stands in front of the mirror and poses every few seconds. “You truly have out-done yourself, Amelia. I never should’ve doubted you!”
She smiles wide. “I’m very happy to hear that!” Realization dawns on her face. “Wait- you doubted me?”
“So, eh…What is this surprise you spoke of?”
Amelia rolls her eyes and holds up a bundle of black fabric. “I wanted to make something a bit… vampirey for our beloved vampire cardinal. I hope you like it.” She has a faint blush on her face.
Amelia unveils a black cloak lined with a wine-red satin. Theres a tall collar and a large, ornate metal clasp to keep it closed on his shoulders.
Sarah gasps. “That’s beautiful!”
Copia nods his head. “I can’t agree more. Thank you.” He’s twirls around to look at Sarah. She has a dreamy face while looking at Copia in his suit and cloak. “I think dolcezza mia likes it too.” He raises an eyebrow towards her.
Sarah, realizing she’s been caught, covers her face with her hands.
Amelia looks between the two. “Ugh, you guys are adorable. I’m gonna be sick.”
After Copia changed back into his cassock he went to Sarah to confirm their date and what time to arrive, he bid the studio a farewell. She starts to tidy up her space and goes to get the red fabric to cut out the next suit.
“Sarah!” Amelia startles her. “You… should take the rest of the day off.”
Sarah’s eyes squint slightly. “Shouldn’t we get started on the red suit? We have time.” What’s going on?
“Oh, I know but you’ve been working overtime on this project… You need a break.”
“Well now you’re sounding like Copia.” She chuckles. Seriously what is going on?
“Bah! Please, take the rest of the day off. I insist.” Amelia begs. She’s practically pushing Sarah out of the door.
Now’s not the time to look a gift horse in the mouth, I guess. “Ok! Thanks.”
A couple minutes later, Sarah is walking down the hall to her room when she notices Copia walking her way. He had a very determined face so she decided not to interrupt his mission. Maybe I’ll ask about it later. She gets to her room and after a short nap she changes into her date outfit, nice jeans and a blouse with boots, and heads over to Copia’s room at their agreed time. She takes a deep breath and goes to knock on the door. Copia yells from inside, “It’s open!” and she walks in.
His apartment looks cozy. Upon walking in she sees a small dining room with a kitchen and a sitting area; there’s a room to the side with a couch and a tv where an old game console sits by it on the floor. Bookshelves and art line the walls. Near the back of the apartment are two doors. One she thinks is probably a closet and the other his room. One of the doors open and Copia emerges wearing- wait is he wearing?
“The white suit!” Sarah puts her hands over her mouth. “You’re wearing the suit I made?” She walks towards him to get a better look at everything. “Sneaky devil!” He looks so damn… good!
Copia holds his arms out and does a ‘ta-dah!’. “I don’t want you to feel underdressed but I thought it might be fun to surprise you.”
Sarah’s face hurts from smiling.“Are you the person responsible for me getting out of work early today?” She puts her hands on Copia’s shoulders and leans back. Sarah’s eyes linger on him in her suit. “You needed a diversion to get me out of the room?”
“Guilty.” He takes his hands and places them on her waist. “Would you like to start our date now? I managed to find a good recipe sans tomatoes,” He smirks “and I don’t want it to get cold.”
She smiles and gives a sigh. “I guess so. What are we having? It smells fantastic.”
Copia walks her over to the table he has set up for dinner, 2 plates set next to each other. “Spaghetti carbonara.” She gives out a hum while he plates their food and grabs her a drink. “Mangiamo! Let’s eat.” Copia sits down on her right side.
Sarah nods. “You can’t go wrong with pasta!”
“You really can’t. It’s impastable to mess it up!” Sarah laughs at Copia’s pun and then they both dig in to their plate. She occasionally lets out a hum or moan of approval over the food and Copia smiles at her. “I’m pleased you like it, cara. I got the recipe from Secondo.”
Sarah’s eyes go wide and her eyebrows perk up. “Oh? I hear he makes an excellent chicken noodle soup, too. I had no idea he was such a chef.”
“It was something he took up after retirement from being Papa. His cooking is one of the few times I’ll actually eat food.” Copia admits. “I don’t really need regular food to survive so I only ever eat when I want to indulge.”
“If I’d known how great the food was here, I would’ve joined the ministry sooner.” They both laugh.
“What was it that did bring you in?” Copia asks.
Sarah smiles sheepishly. “I will admit, it was the music that got my attention first. The imagery and emotion in some of the songs were compelling. And Papa Terzo was very charismatic on stage. I wasn’t entirely sure what to expect, though, when I decided to join.”
“What did you think we did? Blood rituals and orgies every day in the Olde One’s name?” Copia teases.
“No! Nothing like that… Well maybe something like that but not every day. I was intrigued by the culture and what it might be like to live here. And once I arrived, everyone here has been so inviting and kind.”
“I’m happy to hear that, dolcezza. In my time here with the ministry, the success of the Ghost project has opened the door to the world of our cause.” Copia smiles. “And it doesn’t help that there’s a vampire roaming the halls to maintain the spooky factor.” He chuckles.
“So,” Sarah sets down her utensils after she finishes the last bite. “What’s that like? The whole being dead and a vampire thing?”
“It was strange at first. I was turned during a bleak time in history, the plague, and since then it’s been an odd form of survival. When I found this ministry, it was a salvation. They took me in and I’ve been devoted to them ever since.”
She’s astonished. “The plague?” One helluva age gap.
“Yes! It’s actually what’s been inspiring some of the songs I’ve been writing for the band.”
“And uh… What’s it like, to drink blood?” She puts her hands in her lap and turns more towards him.
Copia’s hands takes and holds one of Sarah’s. One of his thumbs rub small, absent-minded circles on her palm. “It depends. If I drink it from the blood bags the Clergy give to me it’s fine, nothing to write home about, really.” he moves his thumb further up to rub at the veins on her wrist. Copia has a smirk on his face “But it tastes much better if I get it straight from the source.” He presses down slightly on the spot.
Oh. She squirms in her chair. Her face feels warm and she’s sure there’s a blush forming on her cheeks. “I see.” Copia looks at her with a knowing smile.
They sit in a comfortable silence for a few minutes; Copia continues to hold her hand. Neither of them wants to break the spell that’s overtaken them at the kitchen table. It’s Copia who decides to speak first.
“I was thinking, would you like to move to the couch? I thought we could take turns playing one of my games. You can finally see if my concentration face is as funky as yours.” He smiles at her.
If I can stand. “Ok! What do you have for two players?”
Copia’s moves to start up his tv and NES. “Super Mario Bros?”
They both settle on the couch and over the next 20 minutes she watches Copia maneuver through each level flawlessly. “So, you’ve played this game once or twice?” She chirps.
Copia laughs. “Yes, dolcezza. Just once or twice.”
She watches on, looking at only his face while Copia is lost in the graphics on the screen. She moves so she can look at Copia better and soon his face does it. His mouth parts slightly and his expression goes blank. The zone, she realizes. He looks so adorable. She’s moving towards him to plant a kiss on his cheek but right at that moment he’s finished the level and turns to look at Sarah. Their lips end up touching and they both jolt back in their spots on the couch.
“Oh! I’m so sorr-“
“Mi scusi!”
“I didn’t mean-“
“No! I moved and you-“
“I mean, if you want-“
They pause their hurried apologies after realizing they’re both sorry. Laughter falls over the room and Copia lifts his hand to cup her face. “Sarah. I would like to kiss you. May I?”
“Yes.” She leans in towards Copia and closes her eyes.
Copia closes his eyes and leans in and their lips meet halfway. They move slowly against each other, both hesitant to take anything further. After a few seconds their lips part from each other; they’re savoring the kiss on their lips. Copia’s thumb brushes lightly on Sarah’s face and he looks into her eyes for her okay so he can lean in again. Their second kiss is more fervent. Familiarity from the first kiss a moment ago fuel their mouths for the second one. Sarah breaks the kiss briefly so she can move to sit in Copa’s lap, her legs straddle his thighs.
She leans forward and their kiss resumes with renewed passion. Her hands place themselves on Copia’s shoulders and his hands rest at Sarah’s waist and the side of her face. Copia’s mouth seems to have a mind of its own and his fangs have started to poke out; she can feel them on her lips, on her skin as he leaves a trail of kisses from her mouth to her jaw and down to her neck. She lets out a small hum when his lips touch her neck and moans loudly when his fangs brush lightly on the sensitive skin.
Copia comes to, seemingly aware of his fangs now. His eyes are wild and he looks terrified. “Sarah! Mi dispiace. I didn’t hurt you, did I?” He looks closer at her neck, free from any bite marks.
“Copia, its fine. I’m fine!” Her hands on Copia’s shoulders move to hold his face. He’s so sweet. “Full disclosure, Copia, I uh. I wouldn’t mind if you bit me and drank my blood…” She goes quiet at the last few words, too embarrassed to fully say them.
Copia smiles and his fangs are poking out, taunting her. “What was that, dolcezza?” Copia’s hand on her waist, his fingers, wiggle against her side and she squirms in her spot.
Oh this man! “I said, I wouldn’t mind of you drank from me.” Sarah huffs out a breath. “If you want to.”
Copia tilts his head and smiles wider. “I would be honored, dolcezza.” His thumb brushes lightly over her cheek again.
She straightens and then looks deep into his eyes. “Walk me through it then. What will happen? What will you do?” She returns her hands to his shoulders.
“First,” he begins “I’d like to kiss you on the lips.” Their lips meet for a quick kiss. “Then, I’d like to leave a small kiss here-“ his mouth moves to Sarah’s neck “-before I bite.” He leans back to look at Sarah.
She lets out a small breath. “Will it hurt?”
“Only for a moment. The pain goes away as quickly as it arrives.” He reassures her, looking into her eyes and lightly stroking her cheek again.
She takes a moment for the information to settle in. “Okay.” She nods. “I’m ready.”
“Perfetto.” He whispers before he leans in to kiss her lips. Next, he tilts her head to the side and presses light kisses to her neck. The feeling of his trimmed mustache on her neck tickles a bit and she giggles. He’s breathing in her scent and its lovely. His chest vibrates with a ‘hmm’ sound. After a few seconds his hands stabilize her body in his lap and hands. Copia presses a firm kiss to her neck and then he bites.
Pain immediately shoots up through Sarah’s neck and she lets out a whimper. Copia’s thumb on her face soothes her as much as he can as the searing sensation of pain runs its course and returns with a pleasant, tingly feeling. He moans as he swallows her blood into his mouth, she can feel his tongue lapping as it flows out of her neck. The tingly feeling spreads further through her body and the whimpers she let out in the beginning turn into soft hums and moans. A hand she has on his shoulder moves to the back of Copia’s head and her fingers card through his hair. Copia’s body is overtaken by the heady feeling of drinking her blood. His hips shift slightly underneath Sarah’s body, moving on their own free-will. Copia is overstimulated, just as overwhelmed as she is at the whole situation. He begins to suck harder against her neck and Sarah’s head begins to feel dizzy. She tries to say something or move her hands to stop him, to warn him, but her words are choked up in her throat and her body feels heavy. Sarah’s vision goes starry and soon she blacks out from the loss of blood. The only thoughts on her mind are Copia’s lips and his fangs as she falls limp into his lap.
hehehe cliffhanger *evil laughter* don't worry! I'll have the last chapter up soon enough.

Leia eyes him distastefully, trying not to let her lip curl too much. She's in the back of the room, thank god, which means she can glare at him as much as he likes, but it seems like a bad idea to give all the people sitting around her the idea that she's a bitch.
"I took this job because—" he says, and Leia tunes out again and pulls up Luke's number.
I Am Going To Kill This Man, she writes.
please don't. Luke texts back a few seconds later. who?
Jinn.
"The boxes on the worksheet aren’t so small because we’re trying to make it hard for you to answer," he says as she looks up, totally dashing her hopes of him finally having gotten to anything useful, "we’re just trying to teach you how to be concise in your answers."
When she looks back down at her phone again, Luke has sent i liked him :( :(, and Leia sighs and writes back he's making excuses for not knowing how to edit a word doc.
She gets back a ... :(, and scoffs, looking back up—and right into the eyes of the professor, who has somehow spotted her texting from forty meters away.
"Now," he says, eyes still on her, "I had hoped it wouldn't have to come to this, but I think we need to discuss our phone policy. Far be it from me to take draconian measures, but as you are paying for this class, it would be a shame to waste your time on your phone during lectures. I hope you understand how disrespectful texting can be both to your fellow classmates, and to me, your instructor. From now on, if I see your phone out, I will have to ask you to either put it away or leave the room."
I hope someone shoves you off a bridge, Leia thinks, putting her phone away, and watches as Professor Jinn gives her one last look—the first intelligent expression he's had all evening—and continues on to describing the importance of intro-level labs in preparing the young minds of today for the workforce.
#fun fact! everything qui gon says in this fic is taken from real life#i've been writing down the worst things i've heard for years in the hopes of getting to finally use it for something fun#it should be said that the difference between my. inspiration. and qui gon#is that qui gon is being a terrible dick on purpose#because he got bullied into teaching an intro level#and has decided to make it as miserable for everyone as it is for him in the hopes that no one will make him do it again#classy move.#prompt game responses#leia organa#qui gon jinn#star wars#phoenixyfriend

Why I use the distinction of "non-alcoholic beverages" in (most of) my x Readers
Because this is Tumblr, I've been here long enough to know it's probably necessary to preface this by saying that I am *not* shaming people who do or have written their stories this way within the Star Wars fandom specifically.
This is just something that bugs me, personally, that I've debated on speaking out into the void that is my little corner of this site for a while now, and I'm hesitant to get it off my chest for many reasons, but ask I take on requests, this is likely a pattern that will start to crop up more.
I'll slap it below the cut so if you read it, it's your choice to read something you may disagree with that I'm trying to maybe ask a little more consideration for, but mostly why I write my fics the way I do.
I'm afraid someone out there will think I'm trying to police the fandom when I ask that people be perhaps a little more considerate of those who consume Star Wars x readers that don't drink.
I, personally, don't because I don't want to screw with my medication that I take for mental health and chronic health issues like migraines/pain. This is one of the very, very, very, VERY few things that can disrupt my immersion in a fic without at least a general warning that drinking is in some way involved.
All these lovely fics about going to 79's for a flirtatious fling, or a truly spicy encounter, with whichever Clone suits my fancy almost always seems to involve an assumption that:
A.) Reader is of drinking age for starters (and that varies country by country)
and
B.) Reader does not fall into a category that would exclude them from drinking; situations like my own, or they're a recovering alcoholic, etcetera.
To fill a void in the content I wish [I would get more of] to see, my fic requests that do not get slapped with a 13+ (or 18+) age warning, I chose to make the mention that what you're drinking with your favorite Clone is explicitly non-alcoholic because I'm not going to assume you're of drinking age even with your age(range) in your bio because I don't know if you do or don't drink.
The safest, and most inclusive option for already very inclusive fics that I've seen other lovely people on Tumblr write, is present a non-alcoholic beverage.
It's coming up in another fic that I'm working on, but there is a bar scene I've written that presents Reader with two choices when they greet the bartender. It is never specified which one they chose between the drink with alcohol, or the drink without. That's up to imagination and it's, I feel, more inclusive to people like me who do not, can not, or choose not to drink. The beverage has no bearing or effect on the plot, it is merely a prop while they talk to the Clone the storyline is centered on.
To reiterate; I am not shaming or policing anyone, but just perhaps venting a small-potatoes frustration of mine that I wish would change, but I understand that's asking a lot... Or that someone might see this and take it as an attack on their writing. That's not what this is.
This is just me saying "This is what I do. Here's why. Make sense? Cool, thanks for giving me a moment of your time." and leaving it at that.
#frosts fandom freakouts#why i do the thing#nervous to post this one quite honestly#for the masterlist#star wars#cw alcohol#tw alcohol#thanks for giving me a moment of your time

Hello! First off I'm bouncing with excitement about this fest, rarepairs are my jam and this is going to be so fun, thank you for bringing it into fruition!! I've read over all posts more than once and I'm still a little confused about how the fic prompts work. Is it basically you've got an option to claim a prompt someone else has made, or you can come up with your own? Sorry if it's a stupid question and if the prompt process is being explained in more detail at a later point then feel free to ignore this ask
Heya, thanks for the ask! That's basically it, yes!
During the prompting period at the end of August, people (anyone!!) can submit prompts that we will compile into a list. Once prompting is over, anyone who wants to create for the fest can look at the list and see if anything strikes their fancy. Then, when claiming comes around, you will submit your top 3 picks of the prompts, get a confirmation for whichever one you managed to snatch up, and that will be the prompt you create for.
Of course, there is always a chance that none of the submitted prompts are doing it for you. In that case, there will be space on the claiming form to indicate that you'll be creating for something you're coming up with yourself.
We hope that by allowing people to submit prompts it'll maybe strike some inspiration for pairs and/or ideas that people would usually not think of, to involve as many people as possible, and to just generally give people ideas! It's a pretty common fest format in other fandoms and hopefully well-suited for a non-ship specific event in the Merlin fandom too!
Hopefully this clarified things, but if not please reach out to us again!

HeliosR - Crossed Change ~Waltz of Reminiscence~ - Chapter 10
Translation of chapter 10 of the event ‘Crossed Change ~Waltz of Reminiscence~’ from ‘Helios Rising Heroes’.
For any prior parts/chapters, please refer to this Twitter thread.
Will: Faith-kun, are you sure I don’t look strange?
Faith: Will, like how many times have we gone over this now…?
Faith: Remember, you were the one that suggested this. How we should actually wear these costumes and see what the students' reactions are.
Will: Yes… I know I did but…
Faith: And these are just some formal clothes, yeah? Nothing to be embarrassed about.
Will: But, I keep worrying myself sick how they won’t end up interested in wearing these themselves, I can’t calm down over it
Faith: Aaalright, alright enough of that. The teachers already let the students know, too late to run away now
Will: Well, maybe it’s okay with you here…
Faith: Chin up. You look great.
Will: ….Really?
Faith: C’mon, let’s get out there
-
Will: Everyone, sorry for the wait! We’ve arranged some costumes for this year’s prom.
Will: They’re costumes that evoke the feeling of a traditional ball.
Will: You might think it comes across as old-school, however with this we wanted to cherish the tradition of prom.
Will: Could you tell us what your impressions are, if that’s alright with you all?
Male student A: Woah! That’s so awesome! No way that we can actually wear something like that!!
Female student A: Wow~ so pretty♪ They’re just like medieval nobles!
Faith: Guys will be wearing something formal like we are right now, and girls will have the option for evening dresses. Feel free to pick whichever you fancy from the catalog.
Male student A: I wanna look through that catalog!
Female student A: Me too, me too!
Will: Let the teachers know of what you’d like. The costumes will be ready for the day of the prom.
Male student A: Gotcha! I’ll totally come to the prom! And invite everyone else too!
Will: I’m glad to hear that. Feel free to consult us about anything, so that we can make a prom where no one is afraid of coming♪
Male student A: I will!
Faith: (Guess the students are reacting pretty well? But the real opponent here is…)
Teacher: Indeed, it’s truly wonderful! These costumes are precisely the type of outfits befitting for a social occasion such as prom!
Will: Thank you very much, sir. If you don’t mind, could you perhaps hear out the students' wishes regarding the costumes that have been arranged?
Teacher: Yes, of course. I’ll gather everyone over here. I’m looking forward to the day of the prom.
Faith: Nice job there, Will
Will: Yeah, we’ll definitely get everyone on board with this--
Male student B: So cool… Heroes really are amazing…
Male student B: B-but, even if I wore these… it wouldn’t suit me at all…
Will: Don’t say that
Male student B: Huh….
Will: Want to try wearing one? We can bring something out.
Male student B: Ah, n-no, I’m… I’m sorry! I-I’m not planning to go to the prom…!
Will: Ah, wait…! Could you tell me the reason why if you don’t mind?
Male student B: The…the reason…?
Will: Yes. Something as you don’t deal well with noise, or don’t enjoy dancing.
Male student B: It’s not, um, like that… It’s more how I’d feel awkward if I went, so…
Will: Awkward…
Will: Then I’ll put on a prom where you don’t have to worry about feeling embarrassed.
Male student B: Huh…
Will: The kind of prom where you can enjoy yourself without holding back.
Will: That’s why I’d like you to not hesitate and attend if you’re interested. I’ll be ready to welcome you with open arms anytime♪
Male student B: …I-I’ll keep it in mind
Faith: …….

CREAMY TOMATO PASTA (EASY VERSION)
Ingredients:
[ ] 16 oz whole cherry tomatoes
[ ] 5 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
[ ] 1 head of garlic, separated into cloves, peeled
[ ] 1 tsp salt
[ ] 2 tsp basil (dried or fresh)
[ ] 1/2 to 1 tsp crushed red pepper flakes (depending on taste)
[ ] 1/2 tsp onion powder
[ ] 1 block cream cheese
[ ] 1/2 lb pasta (whichever kind you like, but I like cavatappi for this sauce)
[ ] 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese (optional)
Potential add ins: grilled chicken, shrimp, baby spinach
1: Preheat oven to 400°. Add oil to clean 8×8 glass baking dish. Add washed tomatoes, garlic cloves, basil, onion powder, salt, and red pepper flakes. Toss until oil coats tomatoes and garlic, and herbs are evenly distributed. Add whole block of cream cheese to the middle. (Make sure it is not on top of the tomatoes, but touching the bottom of the dish) Bake 30-45 minutes until tomatoes have split and liquid inside has come out. Remove from oven and set aside.
In a pot, boil the water for your pasta. You can make the pasta while the other dish is in the oven, just wait until it's close to being done so you can time them both to be ready around the same time. When the water boils, add salt to taste and your pasta. Cook to preferred pasta texture and then drain. Save about a cup of the pasta water and set aside.
Take the dish of tomatoes and mash with potato masher. This will incorporate the oil, liquids, and cheese together. You may have to take a fork and individually crush the garlic cloves. Once sauce is fully mixed, add your pasta and any of your add-ins (chicken, spinach, cheese, etc) At this point, if you feel the sauce is too thick/dry, you can add in your saved pasta water, a bit at a time, until it reaches your desired consistency. Discard remaining pasta water. Serve and enjoy. Serves 2-4
TIPS TO MAKE THIS EASIER
Substitutes are your friend! Use a few teaspoons of minced garlic if you don't feel like separating and peeling fresh garlic.
This pasta is based on that tiktok feta pasta, so you can use feta instead of cream cheese.
If you want a creamier sauce, you can add another whole or half block of cream cheese. The ingredient ratios are pretty forgiving, so you can tweak to suit. The only one I would be careful of is the oil. Too oily is harder to fix than too dry, so be sparing with that.
Also, if you increase this recipe, you will have to move up to a 9x12 dish, fyi.
I have made this recipe with a basic cream sauce added to the cooked tomatoes and garlic, instead of cream cheese! In case anyone wants to get fancy with it lol.
Do any of u have decent recipes that are like 5 ingredients (not including spices) and take 45 mins or less to prepare i gotta stop eating sandwiches for dinner
#this one is my go to!#it looks harder than it is lol#just dump the ingredients in the pan#bake it#and add the pasta at the end#super simple and really good!#the flavor of the burst cherry tomatoes is really bright#and the red pepper flakes give it a little kick so it's not boring#i will say I like using fresh basil more than dried#but I almost never have fresh basil so dried works fine

Custom Door Handles: Tailoring Your Hardware to Your Home’s Style
Just like in all areas of life, the great details are important when it comes to the design of homes. Among such details, it is necessary to allocate the doors with their handles which contribute to the functional and esthetic characteristics. Like any other doorknob, or oddly enough, any other door accessory, Handles allow for a fairly vast amount of customization that plain commercial buys just cannot compare to. If you are considering redecorating a single room, or if you are choosing the materials for a custom house or a separate residential area, then custom door handles can be the crown’s final touch.
Focusing on the Door Handles as the Part of the Home Design
Handles are not only practical items found on your door but are also considered as part of the home décor. A good door handle helps create and sustain the overall look in the room, from making the plain room look stylish. On the other hand, the wrong one can downgrade an extremely well-designed environment or interfere with its main functions.
More recently the way has been found of making specialised door handles for interior improvement of homes. People are gradually beginning to understand that some of these small aspects can go a long way in the appearance of their home interiors. Custom door hardware allows you to determine virtually all of the parameters of handles, including the material, the finish, or the size and shape of the handle, so that the final result is completely appropriate to your house.
Customising the Door Handles to Match Your Home
This means that with custom door handles, you are able to come across your preferred design and have it applied to your door handles. Whether your house has a more formal minimalist style or is more traditional and opulent, you will be able to find a custom door handle.
Material Selection
Let’s begin by contrasting the external and internal designs and looking at the options of material that your door handles will be made of. Available popular alloys incorporate brass, stainless steel, bronze and even glass or wooden ones. They all are different in how look and feel is when used for items. For instance, brass door handles have always been associated with the traditional taste and the spirit of timelessness, while black door handles or black front door handles are mostly characterised by the influence of avant-garde styles. Chrome and stainless steel designs will look good in minimalist homes while bronze or antique looks enhance the value of a home that is rustic or old.
Custom Finishes
Besides choosing the material that you want to use in your door handles, you can also choose the finish you want to use in your home. From shiny to dull and everything in between the type of finish one puts on the handle can drastically change how it looks. An example of a quality doorknob that can be used on the home entrance door is a black matte door handle; the model complements the modern or industrial design perfectly.
Unique Shapes and Designs
Contemporary door pulls come in various shapes and sizes and it is easy for anyone to find the one that he or she prefers. If for some reason you fancy simple square or round forms of the minimalist design, or you like complicated ornaments and carvings of the more classic design, you can find or devise a door handle to your liking. Some amenities that are considered applicable in this case include pull handles for front doors, which can also be designed to be the company’s signature designs to ensure that anyone entering the building is bound to notice them on the initial instance.
Matching Architectural Hardware
Doors handles can also be personalised to suit other door accessories in your house. This is helpful in rendering your interior design consistent, since it unites different components or parts that belong to the general perspective. Whichever handles you need for your kitchen cabinets, bathroom fixtures, or even the window hardware, with custom made, you will never go wrong as everything will be at par with each other.
Why-select-custom-door-handles
Uniqueness
Perhaps the biggest benefit of custom door handles is that they allow you to have a completely unique appearance of the home. While it’s possible to easily find standard handles anywhere, custom door handles are made to its user’s requirements, thereby making your house unique.
Enhanced Quality
Consequently, custom door handles are usually made from better quality material and are fabricated to better standards in comparison to the stock products. This is not only an aesthetical advantage of such products, but also they pretty much last longer and are more resistant.
Perfect Fit
The design and style of custom door handles can easily be retrieved to give a perfect fit to nonstandard doors or a certain architectural design. This is especially relevant for any old buildings or newly constructed houses, or any house that is built in accordance with the client’s preference.
A Door handle is one of the best ways by which one can improve the design and performance of his home. Often the exterior door of the home is an afterthought selected based on a simple cost rather than what will look pleasing to the eye and fit the architecture and style of your home’s design. Whether it is the refined look of brass door handles, the contemporary look of black entrance door handles or fully customised services of your door handles, putting your money in customised hardware is a decision you will never regret as it enhances the beauty of your home.

Choosing Your Driveway Material: Asphalt Or Concrete?
Deciding on the material for your driveway is a bit like choosing between a classic leather jacket and a trendy bomber – both look great but serve different purposes. Let’s take a stroll down the lane of driveway materials, specifically focusing on the ever-popular debate: driveway asphalt or concrete. It's a decision that can impact not just the curb appeal of your home but also its functionality and maintenance for years to come. The Flexible And Forgiving Asphalt Asphalt driveways are like your go-to comfort food – they might not be fancy, but they sure hit the spot. Pros: - Cost-Effective: If budget is a concern, asphalt is like dining at a great value-for-money restaurant. It’s generally less expensive both in terms of installation and initial outlay. - Weather Adaptable: Asphalt has a bit of give during temperature fluctuations, making it a suitable option for colder climates. Think of it as your trusty winter coat, flexible enough to handle the chill. - Quick Installation: Asphalt driveways cure faster – it’s like the express checkout lane in the supermarket of driveway options. Cons: - Shorter Lifespan: They may require resurfacing every five to ten years. It’s like needing to upgrade your phone more frequently. - Heat Sensitivity: In scorching summer temperatures, asphalt can become soft. Imagine leaving a chocolate bar out in the sun – a bit of a melty mess. - Regular Maintenance: Sealing it every few years is necessary to maintain its appearance and longevity, akin to repainting your house's exterior now and then. The Robust And Refined Concrete Moving on to concrete driveways – the bespoke suit of driveway materials. It’s classy, it's durable, and it definitely makes a statement. Pros: - Longevity: Concrete driveways can last up to 30 years or more. Investing in concrete is like buying a high-quality piece of furniture that lasts through the decades. - Low Maintenance: They require minimal upkeep. It’s like having a garden that needs just a seasonal touch-up. - Design Versatility: You can personalize a concrete driveway with stamps, colors, and patterns – it’s like customizing your favorite t-shirt at a print shop. Cons: - Higher Initial Investment: Concrete can be pricier upfront – it’s like paying for a premium gym membership with all the best equipment. - Cracking Potential: Although durable, concrete can crack over time due to weather conditions or settling. It’s like finding fine lines on an antique vase. - Stain Prone: Concrete can show stains more prominently. Think of it as wearing a white shirt to a spaghetti dinner – spills are going to show. The Ice Melt Conundrum Regardless of whether you choose driveway asphalt or concrete, dealing with ice and snow in winter is a shared challenge. Traditional salt and chloride-based ice melts are like using a strong bleach on a delicate fabric – sure, it cleans, but it can also cause damage over time. They can lead to surface pitting, increased wear and tear, and even harm the surrounding vegetation and soil. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x2uACuEGD4k Safe Thaw: The All-Rounder Solution In the world of ice melters, Safe Thaw stands out like that versatile multi-tool you always keep handy. Perfect for both asphalt driveway versus concrete, it’s non-corrosive, which means it won't harm your driveway, your plants, or your pets. Its concentrated formula assures long-term effectiveness, so you’re not just solving the ice problem for one season but for many to come. Think of Safe Thaw as a wise investment, like a solar panel installation – it pays off in the long run. Paving The Way Forward Choosing between driveway asphalt or concrete boils down to your personal preferences, lifestyle, and long-term home plans. If you’re looking for a cost-effective, quick solution, asphalt might be your path. For durability and style, concrete could be the way to go. But remember, whichever route you take, pair it with Safe Thaw for a winter-safe driveway. It’s about making a choice that not only looks good but also works well for your home in the long run – a decision as crucial as choosing the right home itself. Read the full article

Get cooking with me: recipe on rice and beans.
Lets start with our rice:
Use white or brown versions, whichever floats your boat. Of course, brown will boost the fiber but takes a bit longer to cook. For those brown rice virgins, start with a mix of brown and white rice. (I’ve done it a few times.) Cooking the rice in chicken stock also adds flavor without too many extra calories. Portions are especially important to keep calories in check — stick with about 1/2 cup of cooked rice per serving (about 100 calories).
The Beans:
Beans are nutritional powerhouses - half a cup of canned or home-cooked black beans have about 114 calories and 7.5 grams of protein. This is a reasonable serving. Use red, black, or whatever bean suits your fancy (I usually go for the black). Because many flavoured canned beans have high amounts of sodium and fat, opt for the unflavored ones, or soak your own. This way, you control the ingredients.
RECIPE ON LEAFY GREEN WITH TOMATO-GINGER DRESSING.
Ingredients:
1 large plum tomato, seeds squeezed out, roughly chopped.
1/4 cup chopped oil-packed sun-dried tomatoes.
1 tablespoon minced fresh ginger.
2 garlic cloves, peeled.
1 to 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar.
1/2 cup water.
1/4 teaspoon salt.
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper.
6 cups washed mixed greens (any combination of romaine, red leaf, Bibb, Boston lettuce, mustard greens, spinach).
Directions:
1. In a blender, combine tomato, sun-dried tomatoes, ginger, garlic, and vinegar. Process until finely chopped. Add water, salt, and pepper and puree until smooth.
2 .Divide greens evenly among 4 salad plates and spoon dressing over top.
RECIPE ON TOMATO SAUCE:
Ingredients:
1 (28 ounces) can whole peeled tomatoes.
3 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil or garlic oil.
1 jalapeno pepper, optional.
1 yellow onion, finely chopped.
1 tablespoon minced garlic.
2 bay leaves
Salt and freshly ground black pepper.
1/4 cup drained and chopped oil-packed dried tomatoes
1 tablespoon finely chopped fresh oregano leaves.
Directions:
1.Open the can of tomatoes and pour off the juice into a bowl. Use the lid to press against the tomatoes to extract as much juice as possible. Then use your hand to squeeze the tomatoes to a pulp. Reserve the juice and pulp separately and set the empty can aside.
2.Heat the olive oil in a heavy saucepan over medium-high heat until hot. If using the jalapeno, tilt the pan to collect the oil in a little pool against the side and drop the jalapeno into the oil. Cook until light brown, about 2 minutes. Remove the jalapeno and reserve.
3. Add the onion to the pan and cook, stirring occasionally, until soft, about 2 minutes. Add the garlic and cook briefly until light gold. Add the bay leaf. Add the tomato juice and bring to a boil. Simmer rapidly for several minutes. Add the crushed tomato pulp. Then, rinse the remaining pulp out of the can by filling it halfway with water and adding that to the pan. Add the jalapeno, salt, and pepper to taste and return to a boil.
Add the dried tomatoes and stir. Lower the heat to medium and simmer, stirring occasionally to prevent scorching, until the mixture thickens and the tomatoes have turned an orange-red versus the pale blue-red they were straight from the can, about 30 minutes. Add the oregano halfway through the cooking.
4. Discard the bay leaf. Peel, seed, and mash the jalapeno with a spoonful of the sauce and pass at the table so diners can add as much heat as they like to their plates.
5. Variation for quick tomato sauce:
Substitute 2 pounds vine-ripened tomatoes for the canned tomatoes. Peel the tomatoes, cut in half crosswise, and squeeze out the juice and seeds over a sieve suspended over a bowl to collect the juice. Chop the tomatoes.
Proceed as directed, omitting the dried tomatoes and using jalapeno, if desired. You should have about 2 1/4 cups sauce. The recipe may be increased proportionately.

i'm on a roll talking abt this game but i love the decision making process in triangle strategy so so much
you don't make a decision for the characters. you make a decision with the characters.
all major decisions in the game are put to a vote. you have seven voting characters, always the same ones, always the main cast, and the player, as serenoa, has no direct vote.
if you have a path in mind, you need to convince the main cast that it's the best one.
instead of just blindly picking whichever choice suits your fancy most at first sight, this way the game forces you to truly consider it.
not only must you pick apart what makes your choice good in order to convince the characters, you will also be presented with the characters' opinions and, in turn, the justifications they have for choosing differently.
if you're going in blind, you're not gonna get unanimous votes, and that's fine. opinions clash, both in the voting segments, and the story itself. characters will submit to the majority vote, but not without complaining about it. hell, there's one point where two characters will chew you out for having to think about the choice at all because they find it to be a no-brainer, and a different characer will still tell you why the other instinctually worse and crueler option is still valid.
you need to gather information about the situation, present your case, and hope for the best.
there is no perfect choice to make. no matter the path you walk, you will see its upsides, and its drawbacks, and you will see it through to the bitter end

At last, the taste of Coerthas can finally be experienced in Aldenard! Within the heart of the Goblet, adventurers from all walks of life shall be welcome to enjoy such services. From the hearty meals to the less than stellar and questionable options. They’re readily available without having to brave the deadly cold. For years, The Little Lamb’s been in service. From lowly thieves to High House nobles, all become equal inside the tavern, titles and class differences discarded. It is for this very reason that the establishment only employs adventurers of remarkable skills. Twelve knows how many sessions of stabbing have occurred around here, be it from simple discussions or over frustrating gambling losses.
ABOUT THE TAVERN
The Little Lamb is a tavern situated at The Goblet and offers Coerthan and Ishgardian cuisine. The Barkeep, Saera Vesta, a Miqo’te woman formerly affiliated with House Dzemael of Ishgard, had taken an awe inspiring debt to craft this place and have done her utmost to better its reputation from commoners to wealthy folks alike. The tavern receives the grace of even known figures, receiving hefty donations whensoever possible. While at the surface it appears like your run of the mill tavern, in truth, it is a front for a wide array of criminal activities.
KNOWN SERVICES
- Coerthan and Ishgardian food and drink services. - Gambling. Widely known for Eorzean Blackjack. - Minstrel performances. - Gathering levequests. - ‘Mommy Milkies’
SECRET SERVICES
Criminal activities are rampant at The Little Lamb. The tavern in itself is being actively used for money laundering. However, they’re done in secrecy and discreetly. Only a select few are made aware of the dark side of the establishment, including only a handful of its staff.
- Assassination Request - Intel Gathering - Missing Person Search - Suspicious Substance Distribution - Money Lending - Rumormongering
ACTIVE STAFF
Saera Vesta - @asunderedheart Rihnn Mhulsu - @gaolseeker Charlie Shephard - @fellcleaved Dusa Dzemael - @blublud Y'sterrh Merlwyn - @verbeast Lewther Myste - @gaolseeker Naoise Celestaux - @etoileballad
OOC NOTES
Hi everyone! This is a shared verse between me and a couple of friends. This is an actual roleplay venue that we had on Aether as a Free Company but have been too busy to manage, so we thought about incorporating it as an actual lore and part of our respective character’s identity. This means that everyone is welcome to partake in this verse and have threads relating or located inside The Little Lamb!
You can play your muse as a regular or arriving at the first time. Then, simply choose whichever staff suits your fancy. The tavern looks very normal and it’s difficult even for the most attentive of people to notice the other side of it. I only ask that if your muse happens to know about it being a criminal front/interested in their services that they don’t try to unveil that publicly or cause a scene because they will be... killed immediately, let’s just say. I’d rather that people are respectful of this and that’s all I’ll ask.

Hey do you think it’s possible to cross Transformers with Toby Daye or are they just not compatible?
ooooh man. in what sense? i think a fusion would be FASCINATING, in either direction--i do love playing around in Toby Daye's mythology; both canons also feature lots of options for intricate politics and you could have a lot of fun hashing out frametype or personality to fae type correspondence. both of them also feature either advanced tech or advanced magic that could really inform a lot of integrated worldbuilding details, and translating the one to the other in either direction could be fun.
Of the top of my head on the TF->TD pipeline I could very easily see the Autobots and Decepticons as two warring kingdoms--the common overarching narrative of exile from Cybertron also translates fantastically well to the fae's leaving the deeper realms. TD->TF might involve Titania and Mab as the forerunners of the Decepticons and Autobots, whichever suits your fancy. I think it's possible but nothing's jumping out at me except Wheeljack as Coblynau.
if it's a 'two canons meeting each other' i will, jokingly, say that 'not compatible' is quitters talk--though i think the potential there lies less in the commonality of the themes that suit a fusion and more in how both worlds are being presented with more things in Heaven and Earth than are dreamt of in their philosophy. would be REAL interesting to break down if the cybertronians being aliens makes them less toxic or more toxic to fae than cold iron. If the Cybertronians have been sleeping on earth, are they somewhere in the collective memory of Faerie, who know well the myths of sleeping kings? If they've descended from the sky, do the Air fae have opinions on these things? How do they come to understand Fae magic--do glamours and sunrise affect them in the same way? What do the Fae, who we know use transformation as punishment, think of these creatures who move back and forth by their very natures?
They don't obviously fit together, but I think the fun of Transformers for me has always been in how mythic it's capable of being. the puzzle is in making it work.

For the made up fic title thing!
Maybe “Usually I’d stab someone when I don’t like them, but this time I’ll make an exception” or “Stars Shine Until They Die”
You can do one of these, both, or none at all! Whichever one suits your fancy :D
fUCK YES IM DOING BOTH OKAY UH
the first one is definitely a luke-centric fic. i got two possibilities, one is a spy au where luke has infiltrated a network of bad people™️ of which mc has been a part of ever since he abandoned them. luke has kidnapped the highest ranking member aside from the boss, so essentially the right hand man, so that he can take them out bc he rose through the ranks and can be the new right hand man. plot twist, the right hand man is mc. luke gets his shit rocked bc of mc and mc leans up to luke and says 'i would have stabbed you, but i'll make an exception' bc deep down, mc still does miss luke.
the second option is more of a thing where luke is helping around vyns place, he's fixing something idk, and vyn is just backseating him. i'm talking full on following and commenting on the shit luke is doing. luke brandishes a screwdriver and threatens vyn in the big scary raven voice, and vyn kinda just nods and makes him sweets for his hard work 😂
please dude the second title has me in a chokehold bc i can make it mildly educational jdjdjf
i definitely want to put this as a von hagen centric fic, mostly bc he's the one more susceptible to burn out. mf has like what, 4 jobs? ceo, painter, agent for nxx, student, maybe PI bc he's looking for giann? what is that, five? holy shit.
anyway, stars burn gases and do this really cool chain reactions to make new elements and stuff up until they can't anymore, and then things happen depending on how massive the star was in the beginning.
sam what the fuck, what's with the science lesson, i hear you ask. we're getting there, i promise.
anyway, if a star is massive enough, if it passes a certain threshold, it goes nova. this is the idea i wanna run with, just von hagen breaking. mf going nova
he has so much on his plate, and he's so young. he's going to collapse sooner or later. this definitely has found family vibes for sure, where the nxx notice and try to just try to lift the burden. but here's the thing, those burdens are dense af. it's this spiral of things that are very intertwined together and shit, but ultimately they get there and help him.
and here's the thing about stars when they 'die', they just, kinda fizzle out but not really? they still produce warmth up to a certain degree. so in the end of that fic, i'd end it with von hagen as a burrito of blankets with the rest of the nxx, bone tired from everything they've done together. and von hagen allows himself to rest.
this went off LMAOOO thank you for asking galena!!! <3
#sam rambles#ask game#send me a title and i'll do something like this jdjdjf#galena asks#sam answers
