a/n: because wincesties understood my vision for this pair. u don't have to know shit abt the boys or soldier boy. soldier boy is a superhero. he's like a twisted dark version of captain America and they're in HIS universe where Sammy ends up. no demons or monsters. only superheroes and normal ppl.

because everything is so different and supes are everywhere, Sammy feels lost and confused, magic and spells don't seem to work, all he wants is some answers and he can't even summon a mere crossroads demon, he feels helpless and he doesn't like it, at all.

Sammy really tries not to mope around like Dean– Ben. Ben keeps laughing at him, and tells him to relax a little bit because he's with the Soldier Boy, and nothing can happen to him when he's with him. Ben is not too awful to live with, driving from one motel to another, usually on a stolen car, and after breaking someone's arm or other body part for whatever reason, or maybe because Ben fucked someone's wife and they have to move out of their motel room.

Ben is messy, throws his shit around and doesn't clean much after himself, so Sam is left to pick up after him, and he's annoyed, because “Aren't military men supposed to be clean and tidy?”

Ben’s hand freezes mid-air, about to chug half a bottle of beer and stares at Sam. Sammy freezes too, like a deer in the headlights, realising this man can break every bone in his body without breaking a sweat. But all Ben does is smile, “I'm not in the army now, am I?”

Sammy nods, noticing the smile not reaching his eyes and just gathers the clothes in his arms, putting them in the hamper near the wall, letting out a shuddering breath as Ben watches him clean around their motel room as if he's his housewife.

Ben, who gets a bit too comfortable around Sammy, walks around butt naked, and hollers at him to order them some food, and laughs when Sam turns red and shouts at him to put on some trousers. Ben who likes to eat a worrying amount of pizza while watching the TV, a hand on Sam's thigh, squeezing hard whenever Sam moves a little, just so he doesn't leave. and when Sam finally complains that he has to go use the toilet, Ben turns his head and looks at him without blinking. For a second Sam is terrified he'll tell him to hold it, but all Ben does is slide his eyes down at Sam's jean clad lap and stares openly at his groin. He doesn't say anything for a long time then takes off his hand from Sammy's thigh, “Go, and bring back a six pack with you, Sammy boy”

Sam slides out of the sofa, sweat collecting at the nape of his neck, his brain screaming at him to run away, to run and never look back because this man was not his brother. He may look like him, behave like him to a certain extent, but Sammy can't leave him, he needs Dean. in whatever version he can have him.

Sam also realises that this man sleeps like shit, he sleeps for short intervals at a time, waking up shouting from nightmares, his body surging up with energy and concentrated compound V running in his veins. Sam eventually pries some answers from him, after some quietly asked questions and giving him pitiful puppy eyes and Ben cracked. He was uncomfortable when he told him, tried to hide it, tried to make it seem like it doesn't haunt him still, but Sammy knows he's lying. Ben tells him they did experiments on him during WWII, injected him with all sorts of chemicals, fed him dreams of glory and American Patriotism, made it seem like he was saving the nation. Nobody is born like this, everyone was made into a Supe, and whatever they tell people nowadays on the Internet and Television, it's all bullshit.

Sam feels a little bad but tries to remind himself that this Dean probably committed countless of war crimes and God knows what else, if those theories on Reddit are anything to go by. and he understands why these theories would be popular on certain places of the Internet. Soldier boy was built to be a weapon, and he was but a man, driven by desires and emotions. He's broken, wrong, sinful and dangerous, but Sammy can't bring himself to be disgusted, not when he himself is too tired, so tired of not having what he wants, and all he wants is the one thing he can have, this Dean, this man who wears his brother's face.

He knows it probably makes him a shitty person to stay with this 105 year old racist prick, but this man looks like he's only in his 30s, walks like Dean, sounds like Dean, looks like Dean, even smells like him.

Sammy found that one day after he found himself burying his nose in the man's dirty t-shirts that were thrown over the sofa. He's embarrassed at his weakness and tries to forget how the smell of sweat, musk and something so Dean made him feel weak in the knees and an army of butterflies errupted in his stomach.

Sammy has also been close enough to smell him and feel the warmth of his body against his. It happened in the middle of the night, when Soldier Boy was once again woken up by a nightmare. So Sam blinked his eyes open and turned his head to look at him on the other bed, but a big warm calloused hand pressed the side of his head down on the pillow hard so he won't move. he can't move. not with the type of strength Ben possesses. Sam held his breath, praying Ben won't snap his neck in half, mistaking him for an enemy soldier, mind broken, fractured and riddled with PTSD.

But all Ben did was lean down, his hot breath washing over Sam's face, his body frozen in fear. He didn't say anything for a long time, and Sam knew he was looking at him, then he whispered in his deep and heavy voice, “Sleep, Sammy.” Sam’s heart jumped in his chest, and he bit his lower lip so he wouldn't whimper and felt his mattress dip. Ben slid under the covers, easily pushing Sam’s body further in the bed, making space for himself, practically plastering himself to the back of Sam’s body, throwing a heavy arm over Sam's waist, getting comfortable right behind him, their bodies touching from top to bottom.

Sam gulped and parted his lips, breathing out a weak, “Ben-”

Ben didn't like that. So he clasped a hand over Sam's mouth, pressing hard, covering both his mouth and nose at the same time, Sam fought against his instincts telling him to kick that man as hard as he could but he can't, he may as well just ask Ben to kill him right then and there.

Ben lifted his head and breathed down Sam's ear, his nose touching his flesh, “Shut the fuck up, Sammy,”

Sam nodded before he could help it and Ben let go, finally granting him permission to breathe. While Sam gulped in oxygen and Ben got comfortable on the bed, squeezing Sam to his body like a giant pillow, “You're warm,” Ben whispered, sounding tired.

Sam’s heart broke a little, but that didn't last long when Ben added, “Shame you don't have a warm cunt to match,”

And right as he said it, he rolled his hips and Sam felt like throwing up at what obviously was Soldier Boy’s half hard cock right against the crack of his ass, then he settled, Sam listened for Ben's breathing and his heart finally stopped hammering in his chest when Ben's breathing evened out and he was surely asleep.

Sammy was terrified, but also safe at the same time, but also simultaneously in danger of losing one of his limbs if Ben has another nightmare or kills him in his sleep. Sam has never felt this close physically before to Dean, never so warm and cozy, but also so horrified and sick to his stomach because this isn't how brothers are meant to behave. But Ben isn't his brother. That's one of the first things he ever told him. That he wasn't his brother.

Sam closes his eyes tight and prays for his safety and for a way to go back home. And shivers when he realises he wants to take this man with him back home. Obviously nobody gives a shit about him in his world, and he'd do much good back in theirs. Soldier Boy was strong, a supe, and with the right training he can easily be one of the best hunters there was. And Sam is sure Dean wouldn't mind, not when this man kept Sam this safe for so long, looked after him, and plus this man may not be Dean, but he's still family in a way, and Sam's not very keen on leaving him behind. (That's Sam convincing himself that he'll be the one deciding to take this mfer with him when he knows that Ben will demand to go back with him, Ben won't let Sam leave him alone.)

in inver verse (inverse, if u will), what's the difference between a faerie and a god? it seems to be less a matter of innate difference, and more a matter of whether or not a given entity is socially acceptable to worship. the Immortal Hound is a god, the Puca is not, despite both seeming to be of a similar nature

and if this is true, does that mean that the Southern God is also a faerie?

actually i will answer this but it's a waffling nonanswer as is my custom

although the monarchy & upperclass of inver (and lower class ppl from the regions in the west like Moya, arranged along what were once ancient battle-lines between Inver's founding people) certainly have their own set of cultural practices, celebrations, and rituals, they would not describe kossith as a god nor think of him as one. for a definition of god as we would understand it (i.e let's take the prechristian irish pantheon for example since i guess that's an apt base state to compare against. it's not like that). although the practices are on the surface somewhat worshipful it is not worship, and neither is it mandatory for any citizen of inver loyal to the monarchy to do the same. you, random person, you are free to take or leave the Immortal Hound. it doesn't matter what you choose or how you think of him because your disbelief is not an existential threat.

people who are in some sort of contact with faeries exist on a spectrum from witch (active communication) to any random everyday person who leaves a set of iron tongs by a cradle to guard a baby. if you aren't a witch you wouldn't be considered to be associated with any one entity - the farmer who stops to turn his jumper inside-out to ward off any faeries who might trap him in a field isn't participating in an act of worship or even self-defence. that's just mundane common sense. anyone would do that.

tying the Church to its medical services (and other philanthropic activities) was the only method by which it got any foothold at all in Inver. their miracle cure, penicillin, was considered on the same level as a witch's spell. "god did that, I suppose." but the dilution of Suzette's faith by the inevitable incorporation of Inver folk magic was also a reason for it not to spread too quickly there, and to guard the foothold it had without trying to step any further.

I’ve saw ppl saying that 1. When someone random is talking bad about them they r transmuting that energy into free energy for their spells/manifestations etc 2. When they r depressed they r transmuting energy into manifestations etc. 3. They have as well transmuting wards.

I'm afraid I will not be your #1 profile on this one.

These beliefs do not fit into my practice of sorcery. This is more or less the opposite of how sorcery works for me.

I don't mean to say that I am practicing the ultimate best form of sorcery and other people are doing it wrong. It's just that the idea does not fit into the school of sorcery I practice.

The idea that all energies can be reduced down to a "free energy" that can be used for any purpose might be true. I don't know if it is.

Here are my thoughts on it:

If you have to transmute energy before you can use it, that means it is not suitable for what you want to use it for.

Finding energies suitable for the task you need, and learning how to gather and store them, is beginner-level witchcraft.

The world is freeflowing with abundant magical energies. If a person has sorcerous abilities, they do not need random people to say bad things about them in order to power their spells.

They could just more or less permanently attach their spells to beneficial energies that power them perpetually.

And then they could cast a spell to get random people to stop saying bad things about them, which to me seems like the preferable option.

Mental illness may or may not be generating its own energies in any particular situation. An exercise that attempts to drain away these energies may be a helpful (if temporary) treatment for symptoms.

But that energy does not need to be used to power spells. It can just be sent away.

I have heard arguments that witches have a responsibility to transmute energies they don't like, which I disagree with. I may not like a cold wetland, but I don't have to reduce it to Formless Biome. I can send it to an alligator, who will like it just fine.

Transmuting wards I have more direct experience with. I understand the point; transform the energy encroaching upon you into something else, and it can't accumulate and come back to haunt you.

This is a decent idea. I wrote up a banishing thing which functionally does this. Take a look at the banishing portion; the invocation seeks to transform the nature of unwanted energies so that they fade back into the universe like droplets of water fading into a biome.

But transforming energy isn't the same thing as keeping it around to work over it so it is possible to use it in a helpful way.

All this being said: I imagine those things you mention are possible. I bet they could be done. It's just that I don't have anything useful to say about accomplishing them, because I don't personally see it as a useful thing to do.

I was just chatting with some friends about this topic. Perhaps @rosecoloredtarot and @elminx might have different thoughts about this?

Kyouya Kageyama is a decently lonely girl. She spends her time outside, away from other people. She is average in academics, average in looks, average in just about anything. Well- she is an exceptional photographer and aspiring writer. She observes the world around her, noticing more than anyone else. She quietly stops by the bridges each day when walking to school, looking out to see the formations of all the different birds and their songs.

Kyouya's school is small, and everyone always has stories to tell-true or not. One thing many of her classmates are obsessed with are ghosts, constantly trying to call them, catch them, find them. She finds herself getting entangled in these activities, taking photos of odd occurrences around the school and writing ghost stories to better fit them.

One day, kyouya chases an animal to the back of the school to take of photo of it. she takes a photo and-

She is surprised, more intrigued than scared.

The ghosts are all of Kyouya's making. Her vivid imagination taking advantage of her loneliness- whether it actually summons real ghosts there and it IS some sorta magic stuff..or it's just in her head..is smthn I'm still deciding

uh. yuri. there will be yuri. In the beginning of the story a girl, Miyu, photo bombs a picture and just follows her around ever since. Miyu likes to follow her path, constantly curious in what kyouya does- but always shying away from what miyu herself does. She's playful, mysterious and a little bit of a tease.

stares autistically...YAYU..galaxy quest is my Main ocverse bc its almost 11 yrs old now and its just been a default in my mind since i was 11-12ish but capitalist creepshow is a close 2nd with how fleshed out it is...my oc carrd has some good info character wise but its lacking on worldbuilding + plot stuff bc im insanely character focused and suck at that shit badly LOL, also the plot/episode page and number of seasons on gq's page is outdated bc i recently like completely redid the plot and havent updated it yet 😭 anyway u can have existing gq lore. sorry if this is weirdly worded and hard to understand im at work rn 😢 i also have a couple scattered tumblr posts on random important bits of lore/character stuff ill get them later. oh ya and toyhouse if u want to see whos who or whatever. a couple side characters havent been redesigned yet but ill get there eventually lol

gq is like. a 90s-2000s CN styled adult cartoon (i always sum it up as if futurama and chowder were 1 cartoon. BIG BIG influences from chowder especially with the voice acting my goddd )..its Planned to have 5 seasons, it used to be 4 but with the new plot i had to add one to fit it in without Completely starting over on every single season lol, also perhaps 1 semi canon movie and a small side series for a bunch of silly mostly canon fillers i couldnt fit into the show itself.

so like i said im bad at having a consistent plot, also words are hard for me so ur getting a Very shitty bastardized version of what i Do have.

Basically it takes place mostly on 2 planets, earth and alkaliba(i hate this name i made it up when i was like 15ish, i just cant think of something better rn😔) its initially in 2009, but actually this is like a Different 2009. bc basically there was a mass extinction like several hundred million years ago and everything just kinda started over but like only Slightly different (sounds stupid af out loud but just trust me ok) alkaliba had existed for a Very long time the next galaxy over and it just so happens that the planet is dying and all their natural resources are fucked. so melody (lenarrs mom) set up an agreement with alkaliba that they could borror resources from earth. (melody is thousands of years old, but thats a secret lol) also melody was from another dimension Also a very powerful sorcerer and kept most of her spells and whatnot in her journal But its written in her native dimensions language which nobody on earth (except lenarr) can read. anyway she used her magic to connect the 2 planets using a series of portals called stargates (again. subject to change, also they connect to a Lot of other planets besides just earth but whatever) that allowed ppl to easily travel between the 2. bc of this alkaliba Kinda "colonized" (FOR LACK OF A BETTER WORD) earth? and that was normal for a few thousand years.

anyway for s1 jump ahead to where canon starts (2009) tix is sent to earth by meredith (queen of alkaliba, tix is her son but u dont know that until later in s1 when they actually Go to alkaliba) to pretty much track lenarr down and convince him to use his powers he inherented from melody (lenarr is not aware of this at all) to pretty much save alkaliba (BIG SPOILER. THIS IS SOMEWHAT DISHONEST. sure lenarr could Choose to save alkaliba but that would result in the destruction of earth or it could be vice versa. it cant be both BUT youll see) so he find lenarr Completely by coincidence after lenarr offers to help him bc tix has never seen snow or ice in his life and is having Difficulty. anyway this is ridiculous that i havent figured this out after 10+ years but tix does Something to convince lenarr to go with him, bc obviously lenarr would be very hesitant to. a bunch of shit happens u know the drill 1st episode shit to establish everything. i could type out a full episode 1 plot but i don't particularly want to rn😢

s2-3 is just mostly playing toys w my characters and tix teaching lenarr how to use his powers (s1 finale is when lenarr starts to Get it but u know) also s2 is noodles villain arc and s3 has eugene in it which is so fun bc i really really like noodle and eugene is funny. OH AND THE MAIN VILLAINS. hydro is the Main antagonist but he has 5 other idek what to call them. henchmen????? that either work for him (griff, dimentia, derric) Or are loyal to him bc he practically saved their life (grem and pixie, also dimentia a little? its complicated) and while Yes hydro IS a villain and he IS evil, hes actually just trying to save earth bc in his mind alkaliba is actually like the typical alien invasion thing u see in movies (not exactly whats happening but it Is possible u could see it that way) he just goes abt it in the weirdest most fucked up way possible. also BIG plotpoint worth mentioning, grem and tix were dating for at least 3000+ years before tix left him for his (now deceased) wife, which grem is Extremely bitter abt. so hes obviously loyal to hydro bc hydro helped him escape his abusive father BUT hes also doing it for himself to get back at tix. (important note tix Was the asshole in that situation 100%, grem is actually right to be upset a little but probably not That much) anyway once lenarr tix and zach(forgot to mention zach is tixs best friend who tix brings along bc hes smart and good at strategizing, also bc tix is GAYYYYYY) get to alkaliba finally it is literally impossible to conceal the fact that tix is a prince there. and bc lenarr doesnt know the Real reason why hes there he doesnt think much of it, in fact he finds it weird that tix wouldnt tell him that.

jumping allll the way to s4 when the Actual shit goes down. this is where shit gets less in depth bc its Extremely new..this is when lenarr learns that hes being used to basically doom earth, u know. his home planet. (considering having either hydro or grem tell him, not in a nice way either) obviously he gets really upset abt this, Especially bc its been at least a couple years since canon started and zach and tix are basically like family to him at this point. he probably runs off idk. i need to think abt it more bc i JUST made this up but im considering recycling an OLDD concept from like early highschool gq where lenarr gets to visit melody in her home dimension. also forgot to mention. melody and lenarrs older brother ruben both committed suicide when lenarr was younger. melody only did it to go back to her home dimension, but ruben did it bc he got rlly depressed after melody died ÷(

anyway lenarr gets to see melody, its very sweet ÷) he talks to her abt his problem abd she gives him some kinda cryptic advice bc Plot. this changes lenarr basically, at this point hes mastered melodys spellbook and Now he can create his own spells or whatever. SO. he comes up with a way to make it so NEITHER planet gets destroyed somehow. this works bc lenarr is actually like twice as powrful as melody at his full potential. after this the main villains would most likely have their redemption arcs somehow i havent thought up What exactly happens yet. and for s5 its basically just me wrapping things up and playing with my toys freely...theres still active plot happening thats very relevant to the story obviously but its a liiiiitle less high stakes and thats all i got in regards to the main plot bc if i sat here and typed a detailed explanation of my fun fillers id be here for years

originally gq was Not supposed to be a cartoon nor was it an ocverse. it was a fucking spm fan spinoff i made up bc i was autistic af and 12. grem was my first ever oc that was Not a fursona and he was actually terrible like as a person. i mean hes kinda terrible now but not as bad

griffs name was changed a few years after i made him. it used to be falcon (STUPID AF BUT I WAS 12. REMEMBER THIS.) also i thought itd be funny for his name to be griff bc youd think its short for griffon but no its short for grifford. also texs and tiabia names were changed too. tiabis name was janette and she was actually originally an adult but i thought itd be better if she was 7

like 99.999% of my original designs and concept art + silly little comics of my villains bc it was just them when it was still a mario thing is lost media forever bc my mom accidentally threw it all away when we moved to a new house i miss it every dayyyy id do Anything to see it again..... the Only original stuff i have is from highschool and i fucking hate my artstyle then so its sad af...its just lenarrs finalized design (which actually barely changed since then) and MAYBE if i looked hard enough thru my old computers i could find zachs original design too? idk i dont feel like looking

grem went through the most design changes by a huge margin, but imo derrics few redesigns were the most insane and drastic. pixie went through One change and it got reversed a couple years later LOL

some Stupid reasons behind design changes were 1. hydro used to have 4 heads, hence the dumbass wordplay on "hydra" but i got so fucking fed up with drawing them every time + i kept forgetting to so i just made him a regular dragon. and 2. griff has his mask bc i literally just kept getting mad trying to draw his face right. thats literally it. thats the only reason.

fun fact noodle was probably my least favorite oc before i redesigned him. i hated him SO FUCKING MUCH especiallyafter i came up with his villain arc. now hes my favorite toy and i lovie

Alright lets talk abt my group of ocs I call the sibling ocs

1. Atlas AKA the child that's a ghost (TW: Talk of death due to me talking abt how Atlas died)

the first sibling oc who I created one night by bc I thought it was a good idea, and not only is he Riddle's younger brother but he's dead and is a ghost that follows around Riddle.

their mom viewed as not worth her time as he wasn't as good as Riddle and was often ignored and neglected

Atlas can choose when he's visible and most of the time he's not visible

Unfortunately cant touch other ppl cause classic they'll phase right through you or whatever logic

How he died: so basically with help from others (thanks to those ppl I probably wouldn't have chosen how died if not for u) it was decided that one night a robber broke into the house to steal stuff and Atlas happened to be attempting to sneak food from the kitchen at that time the robber and Atlas happen to cross paths and the robber not wanting any witnesses (idk if this shit realistic but whatever no one cares) decided to stab Atlas in the chest and leave him bleeding on the floor

now a great thought someone else in the twst discord server I'm in had and I'm going be sharing is that Atlas' death would have reinforced Riddle view of that rules should be followed or else there's going to be bad consequence since Atlas was breaking the rules when his murder happened

on to some less grim stuff I think that at some point (I was thinking after the che'nya encounter) Yuu, Grim, Ace, and Deuce meet Atlas and Atlas brings up how ppl are mad at his brother or how his brother is attacking like their mother and the four are like who tf is ur brother and are then hit with bomb that is finding out that the housewarden has a younger brother who is dead and is ghost who's been following him around

honestly was thinking about having Riddle not notice Atlas' presence until during or after his overblot

4. Anubis

he's the older brother of Sebek though Sebek's conical older brother and older sister still exist cause I wanted them to and I didn't want to make an oc who technically already exists

I dont have much lore for him other than he's a year older than Sebek and he's also in diasomnia and he teases Sebek (like a good older brother) also I named him after an Egyptian god because Sebek is one letter off from Sobek

B. Sophie is a witch; she speaks life into things like hats, sticks, scarecrows, etc.

C. The scarecrow wasn't just some prince who got cursed and left on the side of the road, he's a prince who was taken apart by the Witch, who used pieces of his body to create the perfect man. He's wondering around looking for the missing pieces of his body

D. Howl has a human skull in his castle that belonged to the prince. When the scarecrow puts it on it can speak

E. In the book, it doesn't show howl & Sophie's relationship change like in the movie. They hold hands at the end of the book while ignoring everyone talking to them

F. Markl's name is Michael, and he's dating Sophie's youngest sister Martha, who runs the bakery that Lettie ran in the movie

G. Sophie has two younger sisters, Martha & Lettie, who switched places because Martha wanted to work at a bakery and Lettie wanted to learn magic, so they used a spell to disguise themselves

H. Howl courted Lettie for a period of time

K. The black section leads to the real world, not the war scene you saw in the movie. There's no color for that in the book

N. The person who taught howl was actually Mrs. Pentstemmon, who is killed by the Witch of the Waste

O. Madame suliman isn't a character in the book. She (might) be based off of wizard suliman, also named Ben sullivan (who is from wales), who went off to go kill the Witch and ended getting killed himself, and whose body parts were also used by the witch to make the perfect man

P. The witch of the waste was killed very quickly. Her demon, a woman from the human world named Mrs. Angorian, set out to find Howl and kill him.

Q. In the book, Howl spends a very long time in the bathroom preparing himself to go out and get another girl to fall in love him with him :/

-Tiny Karlach is sooo curious. She needs to know everything about anything! Definitely the kiddo who will see an owlcub and ask her carer 10000 questions about it ("Can it fly? Where does it sleep? Do they get bedtime stories??")

-Tiny Karlach also wants to be friends with everyone! She is the tiny one who will spot another tiny one who is shy/being excluded, and she will run over to them and start talking to them and ask if they wanna play!

-Tiny Astarion is the most(tm), incredibly fussy and will throw tantrums at the slightest change in his routine (but, he truly doesn't mean it from malicious, poor little guy is just,,,going through it emotionally and fussing is his way of getting those yucky feelings out)

-Although Astarion doesn't sleep, when he's tiny, he'll beg for bedtime stories (especially the ones where his carer places his name into the stories)

-Shadowheart is the cool, goth big sister who is probably practicing spells on you, but she makes it sound fun and nothing humongously dangerous! She'll tell you stories and lets you hang out in her tent (just, don't touch her stuff with your baby hands xD)

-She has a secret teddy bear she cuddles at night (but will always deny it because big girls don't carry teddies!)

-Lae'zel calls tiny ones "hatchlings"

- She's,,,learning not to tell her tiny one to "punch their throat" whenever her tiny one comes to her saying another tiny one was mean. But, hey, that's what she was told as a youth, so girly doesn't quite understand the whole "gentle parenting" xD

-Halsin is a big papa bear, literally. He'll transform into his bear form when his tiny one is sleepy so that they'll have something cozy n' warm to cuddle up with ♡

-The best at storytelling. His voice is gentle but fun and makes the stories so vivid (sometimes even adding some druid magic is add effects!)

- Hui uses any pronouns, but they prefer She/He/They

- gender? wouldn’t you like to know weather boy

- Hui “hatched” a few years later than MK, ending up homeless on the Megapolis streets soon after. most of her childhood was spent in the alleyways so she had to learn how to defend herself early, discovering her powers before she came into contact with Macaque. however, she had no idea how to properly control them

- after Macaque took her in, he taught her combat skills and how to control and use her powers. Along with that, he also taught them the art of shadow plays, and they were like “woahhhhh cool! this is going to be my motif for forever now!!!!” and Macaque was like “what” and then they started using their shadows as puppet strings to fling stuff into walls & control people’s movements on the regular

- yes he can see through that blindfold. no there is not a lore reason for him wearing it. he just thinks it’s fun

- when MK was training under Macaque he was constantly asking Hui questions abt it. he kept trying to talk to her but she wouldn’t budge at all because she knew what the end goal of all of this was, and even if it would be satisfying to watch his smile fade as he realizes a “friend” was in on the plot all along, they didn’t wanna bother. also bc they were a liiiiiittle jealous of MK. just a little

- Macaque is the only one Hui can properly open up to

- her puppeteer motif and identity, of course, caused very interesting showings of The Hero and the Warrior before MK started showing up and she decided to move backstage to make sure MK did not notice the Extremely Obvious And Identifying Magic Use that came from her assisting in the plays

- after Mayor comes in contact with Macaque, she starts panicking. she knew the bone demon would find him eventually but she didn’t expect it to be this soon—

- needless to say, she seeks out MK because they know he’s one of the few people who are aware of her existence. he of course is wary of her due to his past run-in(s) with Macaque and Hui. however he does agree to train with her at least once because a sparring partner would do her a world of good and also because he’s secretly relieved he’s not the only one who knows about LBD anymore

- said training session was the one in the s2 finale. oops! she’s being dragged along to save the world now. she feels so out of place (bc maybe she is. she has never been the hero type, too selfish and apathetic to even fit the bill for being a hero. it’s not worth trying to fit in with them.) that they basically hole themselves up in a spare room on the plane jet thingymabob until they crash underwater and have a heart to heart w/ MK in the prison cell

- she eventually gets more comfortable around them, but not comfortable enough to spill his guts obviously. he still does not trust them, and they feel like the others share the same sentiment. it’s not like they would spill their guts to anyone anyways. hiding behind a mask yippiiiiiie!

- regularly denies that Macaque is a parental figure for her. she is lying to herself. Hui pls get your shit together

- they get more comfortable with using their monkie form full time over the course of s3. its actually way more comfy for them compared to their stuffy human form

- s3 shenanigans. they’re so done with everyone here

- unfortunately for him, said s3 shenanigans had dragged him into the Main Character Friendgroup. woe is the one who gets found familied

- also unfortunately for him, being dragged into the Main Character Friendgroup had caused them to be thrown into the ink scroll alongside Mei and MK because MK contacted Hui thinking he’d know something about what happened. they did not, in fact, know

- girl please you can’t keep collecting trauma like pokémon cards HUI YOURE SUPPOSED TO BE THE FOIL. STOP PULLING AN MK HERE. HUI

- aroace everything repulsed king. who needs romance when you have The Horrors

- Hui is rivals with one of my other ocs, RC (full name Realm Chaser). they’re a “demon” who has the power to travel across realms by will and teleport (they’re not a demon, they’re actually a Realm Hopper, which is a species that my friend @starboundsingularities created!!!!! this is only scratching the surface of the realm hopper/watcher (not mcyt watchers) lore he came up with but i’m not explaining it here bc itll be like 5 blocks of text and it’s not my concept to begin with, i just borrowed it for RC)

- ADORES Bai He. Hui had never been great with kids, but when she ran up to him and Macaque shortly after being unpossessed begging for self defense lessons because their powers and fighting skills were so cool and she wanted to know how to do that, how to protect herself, Hui decided that maybe it would be worth trying to be good with kids, just this once

- his hair clips are meant to mirror macaque’s 6 ears

- her and MK’s duo name is Sunstone Duo! MK being the sun and Hui being the stone even though technically both of them are the stone but MK didn’t know he was a monkie when he came up with the name and it’s too late to change it now

idk how much of the horn lore i explore in the actual demo but horns r pretty rare to have in alaris. theyre basically seen as a physical manifestation of your Energy. so ppl who have lots of Energy and especially if their Energy is physically oriented (aka helping with endurance, strength etc. compared to magically oriented which looks more like wielding spells) are part of the rare type to have horns.

i would've liked to have shown at least one other character with horns in the alaris cast but i rly wanted to emphasize how rare the horns r and since there's only like six humans in the cast, i didn't have enough side characters to draw another one 🥴

So in storytelling there is such common used techniques as "supporting characters", and specifically "foils" - characters, used to contrast\mirror\parallel main character. This used in many best written genshin character quests, such as venti, itto, zhongli's, etc. By exploring this "character foil", you explore and highlight main character's conflict and give it depth and different perspective. When the character foil is not explored properly, then whatever contrast they were supposed to highlight in main character also fails to be dramatized. So actually a well developed foil not only makes a story more interesting, but benefits the main character also.

You could notice that this is what I was proposing because I said "so cyno and sethos can have conversation about what the spirit of hermanubis means to them." Notice that THEY includes cyno! next i explain in depth

"sethos can be like you're from the desert and using power of hermanubis, but you don't respect it, it means nothing to u, you treat as just a weapon when its a god of our peoples :\ to which cyno goes i'm me, i'm not a vessel to a dead god, my ppl are sumeru and akademiya, and i have worth and strength beyond just magic powers, and then can have a lil back and forth on this that leaves both of them in thoughtful state"

here you can also notice how more than half of the paragraph focuses on CYNO, to give him space to explain himself and his views, provoked as reaction to sethos' foil.

you can see that I added further "cyno's exploration in "also, after the Hermanubis Lore Infodump Animation cyno could be like huh, Hermanubis was protector of his people just like i am, we actually share a lot of core principles, mb thats why his power resonates with me so well and i was wrong to dismiss who he was as just dead god who gives me powers."

This is exploration of CYNO's character, it's adding HIM depth based on expanded interaction with sethos! here i spelled it out for babies in the end - "so tldr in the end sethos accepts his individual worth beyond being a temple of silence servant, but cyno also gains connection with his heritage and the culture of a god, whose power he embodies". see how giving sethos more space to talk and confront cyno would give cyno more reasons to think and develop! yay!

!!!!! he’s human. he’s SO human. but he’s not human in a human way. he wields his humanity like an otherworldly creature. like something not human. he loves and cares so fully and wholly that what would have been just a sneaky, tricky rogue, is instead a hero, with power and love to share and give.

and thus i think it’s REALLY interesting to think about a story in which he ISNT human. i’m a very big fan of nonhuman entities that are, at their core, driven by their humanity, and i love playing around with chip as something like that.

there are fun things scattered throughout his story in riptide to go off of in this way. the options i have had floating around in my head are these (this is a very incomplete list and new ideas are always welcome)

chip has always mirrored the people around him, and i find that very intriguing. a very interesting way to push that idea further is to make him a changeling, molding himself into his own perceptions of the people he admires/has admired. arlin, reuben, jay, gillion, there are a lot of possibilities. and his more recent canonical forging of his own identity, can be extended with him coming to terms with his changeling identity, and revealing his true face and name to his friends.

i also really love when characters fall easily into certain vague roles. in this case, gillion as the moon, jay as the sun. pretty straightforward. right? but then, by that basis, where does chip fall? in one version of this, he’s the earth. metaphorically speaking, as the story takes place on mana. but he’s earth. solid ground. grounding his friends, holding them together and keeping them from rising too high as to forget what they’re here for. gillion, the chosen one, jay, forseen rising to greatness, and chip. i will now remind you that he knows celestial, the language of spirits and the gods. now why the hell does he know that? every other language he knows, he knows for an easily explainable reason. except celestial. and so, in this idea, i think he wasn’t born in the usual way. we never find out who his parents are, so who’s to say they’re human? perhaps, with gillion so aligned with lunadeyis (or however her name is spelled,) and jay aligned with aster, he is a middle point. a bridge. not chosen by either, but created by both to keep gill and jay’s feet on the ground, to bring them together and push them forward, motivate them, and comfort them when they might split apart. a god-born “human” with an unassuming demeanor but with great connection to fire, and the ability to motivate and empower one person, or hundreds.

this one has the same base inspiration as the second, chip knowing celestial and therefore having something UP with him, and chip being the third to gillion and jay’s very thematically satisfying space theme. but this time taking it in the opposite direction. gillion, the moon, jay, the sun, and chip? the stars. fiery, burning balls of light and fire and hope. in this version, he may look human, but just below his skin is power far greater than in canon. for he is one of two things: an aasimar, a child of a human and a celestial being, or a celestial, an angel, himself. this actually lines up very well with dnd as it stands, as his inexplicable fire magic can be explained by either being, or being connected to, an angel. and i’m just saying, in dnd there is such thing as a firemane angel. no idea what that thing is supposed to do story-wise, but i quite like angels, and chip has fire, so……….. think about it. cool, right?

His eyes narrow as he taps ‘play’.

“Hello again!” A tinny, almost muffled voice rings out cheerily. The man on the screen is about the same age as Astarion, perhaps a little older. He has long-ish brown hair scruffily tied back in a half bun, stubble, and large, tortoiseshell glasses. He's wearing the most heinous purple fleece. From what Astarion can see behind the man, he looks to be sitting in a fairly cluttered kitchen.

Astarion skips ahead in the video. Ten minutes in — ten minutes — the man says, “Anyhow, back to today’s Five Things About Magic video! This time, I’m going to look at five spells absolutely anyone can master. Even you!” The man points into the camera in a way that makes Astarion want to die. 

“First up, we’ve got a really easy one. This is a very handy little cantrip for lighting candles, getting the hob going, seeing in the dark, and so on. Obviously, at higher levels, it gets a bit more dangerous but we don’t need to worry about that just yet. Okay, here it is.” The man tilts his chin down, smiling into the camera before flicking his fingers at a candle on the table in front of him. “Ignis.”

The wick flares into life and the man winks. “See? Simple. And very manageable for anyone to get to grips with, even your granny who always regretted never learning magic will be able to grasp this one!”

Fire bolt is the only cantrip Astarion can do. Grimacing, he skips ahead again. The whole thing is about 45 minutes long. At one point, the entire screen goes blank as the wizard’s phone falls flat without him realizing. The video ends as he’s halfway through rounding up the information for the sixth cantrip on his list. In his Five Things video. Astarion doesn’t know why, but this grates on him even more than the hideous picture quality.

As he always does, Astarion tortures himself by obsessively refreshing the page, watching the likes go up exponentially. The wizard only just posted the video — at 1am on a weekday ffs — and the likes are already in the thousands. Astarion knows that, by this time tomorrow, they'll be in the millions. 

He scrolls down and flicks through the comments, just to fuel the acidic rage in his chest.

dym shanti (19, she/he) is the lead singer and bassist for the band! you've most likely never seen her talk before, since he doesn't know what to say. he may be awkward and anxious at times, but his bandmates say that she's a chill person to be around and his voice is more powerful than people think

this is fantayza [fan-TAY-zuh] ahnkor [like encore] (any pronouns but usually she/her). she is the woodwindist for The Rolling Stars! she's a street magician, but is secretly.... A WIZARD!! fantayza's vague and mystique about herself, but it's only to cover up the fact that she's a huge nerd about magic and spells. passersby would sometimes call her "jinx", the way she has bad luck, but all she wants is to entertain people with her cool magic

mai doru (19, she/her) is the dancer of the rolling stars! she is obsessed with seeing idols dance, 25-parted romance dramas, and trying on new outfits! she can be very empathetic, emotional, and a people-pleaser! before being a dancer for the band, she was an idol for a group that she left for "personal endeavors". now, she gets to dance freely and show all of her emotions!
