I had to delete my 100 Baby Challenge save because of reasons (it's fine I wasn't that far along) and decided to restart it to procrastinate on finishing my ridiculous manor, cuz that absolutely makes sense
I had to give my matriarch half a makeover to replace all the cc I'd used on her that I've since got rid of and spent way too much time on it for someone who's probably spending the majority of her life in her sleepwear, but whatever, the important part is I got baby numero uno and

i haven't made mine yet but i needed to go to a bead store in my area to get a new chain for a necklace that i bought recently (that i ended up... probably destroying beyond my ability to repair in the process of trying to lengthen but c'est la vie) and i saw these reallllllyyyyyy cute lotus charms, and since i'm mtg-pilled i was like LOTUS???? FROM MY CARD GAME and got enough stuff to make 2 matching necklaces in copper and brass.
the one that i finished turned out really cute! but i don't have a convenient link between my phone's camera roll and tumblr (it is no longer allowed to be installed on me phone for mental health reasons) so i am unable to show it to you. maybe when i have the second, i will email myself the pictures so i can post them
i forgot how much i enjoy making jewelry! it's been an on-and-off thing since i was a lumbering indoorsy child instilled with a broad range of craft skills by my beloved mother who is a serial "learn a craft -> attempt to turn it into a small business -> abandon it after a few months" type of person.

OKAY BUCKLE UP
a kind of important piece of context that's probably missing for this conversation wake and tetra have is that they were dating and broke up fairly recently. it felt awkward to shoehorn in a line about it but there u have it. anyway that's why wake feels the need to ask tetra to keep an eye on outset in the first place. like she'd actually say no.
did u know tetra has this image of the hero of time in her room on the ship? this worked out very well for me having that in frame hehe. it's also where the sun motif in the "we're cursed" panel comes from!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
i like the idea that wearing big fancy earrings is a part of formal dress across all hylian cultures, and outset is no different! these particular ones wake is wearing are based on abalone shells which i think make really beautiful jewelry :-)
Tumblr media
i just want to call attention to this relationship chart panel. wake doesn't even know that the first thing slate did was put a sword to wolf's neck. he doesn't know how right he is
Tumblr media
this location is the top of ganondorf's tower. it's a little bit more of a symbolic image than a memory tho. fun fact, when you look at this location in noclip tetra is just standing there without her eyes loaded in. spooky stuff
Tumblr media
okay, now onto the big one. the flood scene! this is in fact a vision Loft had of the original divine flood that created the Great Sea, and Loft is putting the pieces together. The one in the middle is actually wind waker's hyrule castle, not a temple like i've seen a few people guess. i had this really strong image in my head of the flood starting by pouring out of Hyrule Castle. does this make sense logistically, given the barrier we see around Hyrule Castle implies it was saved from the flood? maybe not, but I couldn't get the idea out of my head, so in the comic it goes
Tumblr media
we don't ever seen WW's castle town in the game, so I actually used OOT's castle town as a reference. I just really needed a reference for this or else my head was gonna explode lol. that's also OOT's death mountain, which is mostly just there to show the spread of the flood.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
this ending bit with the flood is kind of intended to be a continuation of the Farosh scene on the bridge. Loft is going to continue to have and be reminded of terrible visions of the future, and that anxiety he has around that isn't going to just go away. But I really wanted a scene where he acts on what Slate told him on the bridge— don't pity this place. He snaps himself out of it and chooses to join the party.
Tumblr media
another note on that last panel lol, the person who's waving to him is Rose, the pig lady from the bonus comic!
alrighty I think that's all I got for now

Imagine diving in the chilly waters of Monterey Bay to experience the textures of underwater plants and animals.
What do you think touching smooth, wavy grooves (new band name?) of a blade of kelp feels like?
Tumblr media
Or the rough and tough exterior of an abalone shell?
Tumblr media
How about the teeny pointed toes of a hermit crab as they tickle the palm of your hand?

it goes without explanation with zhou's new helmet is dope as hell. i will provide explanation anyways.
Tumblr media
(above, zhou's helmet design as posted to the KV design twitter)
the central design on zhou's helmet is almost certainly inspired by the traditional craft of mother-of-pearl inlay in lacquerware, a practice which originated in China over 6 thousand years ago, and which has been developed and practiced in discrete forms historically in Korea and Japan alike. (continued under the cut!)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(on the left, a korean (goryeo dynasty) lacquerware stationery box; on the right, a chinese (song dynasty) lacquerware lidded bowl for cosmetics or incense. both photos via the met museum website)
traditionally, lacquerware is created through the refinement of a toxic plant sap into a naturally deep and glossy adhesive coat that is built up and polished often on top of wooden furniture and decorative items, such as chests and jewelry boxes. in the above examples, you can see two types of lacquerware practice.
on the left is mother-of-pearl inlay, which is created through the careful grinding down of tortoise or abalone shell into thin iridescent sheets which are then carefully cut into shape and imbedded into the coats of dark lacquer, being repeatedly covered and then polished down in the lacquer until the shiny shell surface is level with its surroundings. it's both visually stunning and incredibly labor-intensive: for a case like this, there would have been separate artisans making the wooden base box, making the metalware (hinges and clasps) for the box, applying the base layers of lacquer, and then completing the inlay itself.
on the right is (what i understand to be) a predominantly chinese lacquer practice, which is carving into the layers of lacquer to form images in relief. while this practice is not replicated on zhou's helmet, the image selected does display the pattern of the peony flower, which i believe to be the flower depicted in the inlay! the striations of the central petals seem to match zhou's. of course, this is speculative and only based off an amateur's eye, especially considering the motif of scrolling foliage is fairly ubiquitous and somewhat generic in east asian decorative art.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(on the left, zhou's 2024 helmet (detail). on the right, a detail image of a korean chest decorated with mother-of-pearl. zhou's helmet via twitter, right image via the met museum website)
the 'metallic' or 'holographic' effect a lot of people have recognized is a natural property of polished mother-of-pearl: look at the iridescence of the design! while it has been exaggerated to some extent on zhou's helmet (for good effect, i must say), you can clearly see the inspiration when compared side-by-side with a more predominantly mother-of-pearl composition: the variegation between blues, greens, and warmer peachy-reds is mesmerizing.
i really want to drive home how brilliant of a design this is and give the due appreciation to KV Design, who made this helmet for zhou. clearly a lot of thought and creativity went into it, and I can't wait to see it in action. >:D

The Hope of a Free World: The Prologue
Tumblr media
Summary: It's the last night of the Victory Tour for Katniss and Peeta and you are expected to attend the social event of the year at President Snow's mansion.
A/n: Hello! Sorry that this has taken so long to get out! I had so many ideas when it came to this request. The other two parts aren't quite ready but I hope that y'all enjoy this start!
Masterlist | All Stories Taglist
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You are threading your coin through your fingers and sigh. Things in the districts were beginning to get restless as rumors of an uprising began to spread. Ever since two teenagers from Twelve defied the Capitol and refused to play by the rules of their game. In the name of love, they claimed. It didn’t matter to those in the districts. You found it to be a bold move by the star-crossed lovers of District 12. But anyone paying attention can see that the girl was acting out of survival instincts and defiance. Not out of pure love for the boy she seemed to hardly know.
“The train to the Capitol will be here soon,” Finnick says as he knocks your feet off of his coffee table as he adjusts his cufflinks. “You need to get ready and preferably stop crashing on my sofa. You have your own house, remember?” He stops at an extravagant mirror that hangs on the wall to adjust his collar.
You sigh again, “I made a promise to stop drinking excessively. I can’t do that and be alone over there. Besides if I recall, Annie said I can crash here as often as I please.”
“Wanda is lucky she only has to deal with you a couple of times a year,” he gripes as he double checks his appearance. “Get dressed, now,” he shook his head because you were still sitting on the couch, moving your coin through your fingers. It was your token in the Hunger Games. This was a coin that your father made you when you were a kid. It was a silver medallion meant to be worn on a chain. But you haven’t worn it in years because you rather fiddle with it whenever you are nervous. On the face of the medallion is a trident rising out of thin silver waves. A blue abalone shell provides a naturally patterned ocean blue background. Your father was very skilled with making jewelry. You were excited to return home from your Games to share your wealth with him and buy him all of the material he could only dream of. But, because of your minor rebellious actions in the Games, he was taken from you. By President Snow.
Not the man himself, of course, but he gave the order.
“Okay, okay,” you grumble as you stand up from the couch. “You know, I think Annie lets me stay over because I’m the closest thing to a child the two of you will ever have.”
Finnick shakes his head with a laugh, “You might be right.” Even though you weren’t much younger than Finnick and Annie, they took you under their wing. They knew exactly what you were going through when you lost your father. Finnick knew better than anyone when you turned eighteen and Snow first arranged for you to meet with a customer. The mistake you had made was keeping in touch with your friends and falling for someone. Snow threatened their lives and their families lives if you refused to show the customer a good time. None of them deserved to die for your mistakes. Or worse, be turned into Avoxes. The tongueless slaves to the Capitol.
In no time at all, you are on the train to the Capitol. For the past couple of years, you were typically giddy about getting a trip to the Capitol. It meant that you could visit with Wanda. But with talks about an uprising, you wanted to focus on that more than anything. A successful uprising could mean freedom from the segregation of the districts and the oppression of President Snow. Freedom from the Games. Most importantly, it could mean the freedom to love. You never saw yourself falling as hard as you have for someone from the Capitol but Wanda has a certain way about her. Beyond the enchanting green eyes and the vibrant red wig, which she wore to blend in with the Capitol culture. She was a person. She had opinions and interesting ideas. She hated the Games as much as anyone in the districts does.
“Keep your focus, you’ll be able to see your girl tonight,” Finnick whispered into your ear as the train came to a stop. You roll your shoulders and smooth out your clothing as you stand in front of the exit of the train. Katniss and Peeta had been in District 4 only a few days ago for their Victory Tour and tonight was the final night of their tour. It was going to end with a massive party in President Snow’s mansion and every victor that could be sold was expected to be in attendance. Especially since this year’s victors could not be auctioned off as they have been in the past.
As you are escorted to a vehicle there are screens everywhere airing footage of Peeta on one knee in front of Katniss. You shook your head. They were smart to get engaged so publicly.  You predict that lot of your clients will be so bummed that they can’t have a night with either of them. It could hurt the government and raise a lot of questions if it ever came out that Katniss or Peeta were ever spotted spending time with someone else. Though, you are certain that there are plenty of people that will still try to spend a night with either of them or even both of them once they have turned eighteen. You just hope that the government is overthrown before that can happen. Thankfully, on this trip, you’re not expected to see anyone until the event. So you don’t have to worry about hearing creepy rich guys complain about how they can’t be the ones to deflower the girl on fire. You know exactly where you’ll be spending your night.
“I think I know who I’m bidding on,” Wanda whispered in your ear from behind you. Her warm breath tickled your skin and warmed your heart as you closed your eyes to bask in the feeling for a moment.
“Now, now, Ms. Maximoff,” you say as you step back and turn around to get a look at her. Most women in the Capitol opted for frilly dresses, something to accentuate their womanly curves, or hide the lack of them under layers and layers of thick fabric with outlandish designs. Wanda, however, succeeded in showing off her attributes in a simple yet stylish red and black suit with a black turtle neck. The black on her suit sat on the notch lapels of her coat. It looked as though there was a darkness from inside that was spilling out onto the solid blood red that made up the rest of her suit. She also wore a gold necklace with a gold coin on it. You’ve never seen this one before. You frown as you pick it up to observe it, she hasn’t bought jewelry for herself in years. She was usually gifted jewelry and it was never as simple as this. As you move it in the light, an image of the Mockingjay appears. “That’s quite a piece right there.” You look around and notice all of the memorabilia and cheap merchandise of that bird that decorated the event on both the walls, tables, and even the guests.
“Like it?” Wanda asks as she leans in. “It’s one of a kind,” she winks.
You smirk as you adjust the gold coin on her chest. “Very fitting for you, Ms. Maximoff.” You wink. There was a reason this Mockingjay was hidden in plain sight but you weren’t going to ask standing in a heavily monitored event.
Wanda blushes, “You flatter me too much.” You’re about to ask where you could get something of your own when music announcing President Snow’s appearance cuts the conversation short. Every person that was inside of the mansion filtered out the back doors to give their full attention to the President as he addressed the attendees. You didn’t care too much for the speech when you noticed Finnick slipping away with the 75th Hunger Games head gamemaker, Plutarch Heavnsbee. You narrowed your eyes as you finished the rest of your mocktail. Wishing that you could’ve had alcohol inside.
That night, you didn’t follow them. You didn’t ask questions. You simply made polite conversation with the guests of honor as well as the other guests while making a mental note of everyone of your fellow victors that you’ve noticed disappear throughout the event. The absence that worried you the most was Wanda’s. You were certain she would have taken you home with her. Luckily, when you went to find out who did win the bidding war for your company, you were relieved to be informed that Ms. Maximoff was waiting for you at her home.
You didn’t ask Wanda where she disappeared off to when she finally slipped through the shadows and joined you in the bed. You kept your thoughts to yourself in the morning as you committed the details of being with her to your memory. Every freckle and beauty mark that was spread about on her body. Every kiss she placed on yours. Every taste. Every caress. The way her enchanting green eyes made you dream of a brighter future as you gazed into them. You memorized the way her breath changed as she got closer and closer to her climax. Her light giggles when you made a joke and kissed behind her ear. This wasn’t a meeting that you needed to numb yourself from. You wanted to be here between her warm silk sheets, memorizing the way she fit perfectly in your arms as she sat between your legs. Locking all of it away in a place close to your heart for you to use the next time you have to be with someone else.
“Wanda I,” you sighed where you sat at the edge of her bed as you got ready to leave her. She crawled up to you and wrapped her body around you as she hushed you.
“Don’t say it,” she whispered against your ear as she kissed your neck. “I know.” You nodded and melted in her embrace for a moment before you finished getting ready. Her time was almost up and the Peacekeepers were very punctual.
It was noon when you kissed her goodbye just as a Peacekeeper knocked lightly on the door to escort you to the vehicle that is going to deliver you to the train you’ll take home. You hated when Peacekeepers picked you up in the Capitol. They were so polite it made you sick. It was unfair. They were meant to keep the peace but often they could be the opposite in the districts. According to your father, that’s how you lost your mother. She was bartering with a Peacekeeper that was trying to lowball her. She refused and that made the officer unhappy. He had every Peacekeeper in Four keep a close eye on her and when she eventually slipped up, they had her executed. Your father never mentioned what she did that cost her life and you never asked.
But when you return to District 4, you end your streak of not asking questions and you pull Finnick aside to ask him what the hell is going on.
Who would you piggyback ride as they zoom around, Jack Howl or Blurr?
Aww! Both would be fun, but I think a piggyback ride from Jack would be a LOT safer than one from Blurr... Meaning I think Jack would be less likely to drop me on accident.
Tumblr media
When Jack had told you he was interested in doing some endurance training with extra weight, you thought that was going to be... sand bags, maybe? Ankle weights, like Rock Lee? Something a little more conventional than this.
"What's the key ingredient for a potion of water-breathing?"
"It's... the inside of an abalone shell? Powder, not flakes."
"Correct. What's the starting water temperature for a Sleep's Kiss poison?"
"Between a hundred and five and a hundred and fifteen degrees."
"Fahrenheit or Celsius?"
"...Celsius?"
"Correct."
At least you were managing to kill two birds with one stone, as Jack had agreed to quiz you on your upcoming Alchemy exam while you dangled off of his back like a newborn sloth. Pushups had been embarrassing enough, but now he was toting you around several laps of the campus grounds as he grilled you on the differences between fresh and dried raspberry leaves and their uses in healing salves, so you had to be getting at least something out of this besides the embarrassment.
Well, besides the embarrassment AND the chance to feel up Jack's well-toned arms.
You rested your chin atop Jack's head, snug between his ears. "Is this really necessary? You probably could have just borrowed some extra weights from the Phys Ed. storage room."
Jack's ears twitched against your cheeks as he responded. "This is more convenient. Besides, you spend too much time holed up in the library. You need more sun."
"Aww, are you worried about me?"
"Ghh-! N-No! It'll just be a bigger problem if you collapse one day cause you never use your own legs."
'And am I using my own legs right now?' You decided not to add, instead pressing your smile into the crown of Jack's head. He may have had a strange way of showing it, but it really was nice knowing how much Jack cared.
Little Everyday Offerings: Aphrodite Edition 🐚✨️
A lock of hair. (I cut my own, so that makes it easier, but after your next haircut, try taking a piece home and leaving it on your altar. It's a powerful piece of yourself, your femininity, and your beauty.)
A spray of perfume/drop of perfume oil. (This one is super easy if you have a statue/idol or medal you can anoint. It's quick and easy and is easily incorporated into morning routines, rituals, or devotionals.)
A flower (Particularly roses, *especially* red ones - RIP Adonis. Myrtle and apple blossom are also symbolic of Aphrodite. Whether you find them on a walk, buy them for yourself, or receive them as a gift, leave one for the goddess!)
Fruit or berries (Quinces have become her symbol due to the "golden apple" myth of Paris, but any fruit you happen to be eating, a slice can be offered to Aphrodite. Especially figs and apples.)
Water/Moon water (With intention!! Intention is everything. Remember, Aphrodite was born from the sea foam, gifts of the water and the sea are precious to her.)
Seashells (Especially abalone shells, but anything you find along the shores will hold its own power. I have heard stories of worshipers of Aphrodite being asked for specific shells by the goddess/getting a sense that one in particular will be appreciated, so listen to your intuition when choosing which one to leave her, or simply offer the prettiest one you find back to the sea!)
A kiss, with or without lipstick (I think this one speaks for itself. Very good for medals and pendants especially, when on the go. For a statue or idol, I would place them at the base of the statue, near the feet. Above all be respectful, this is a goddess you're speaking to. If you get a sense that you should not offer a kiss, DON'T.)
A sentimental piece of jewelry (It's best if this is a piece you dont intend on wearing. Perhaps something that belonged to a loved one, or something from your childhood that was special to you - I left her freshwater pearls from my very first pearl necklace that is now much too small. 💔)
Milk, honey, or sweets (Make sure to only leave these for a short time, to avoid spoilage. If milk sours, flies are attracted, or honey crystallizes within a few hours on your altar - well first check the milk jug 😄 - but otherwise you may want to take special care to honor the goddess soon, and consider cleansing and protecting yourself and your space.)
Hope this helps! I've been actively honoring and worshiping Aphrodite for about a year now, so I'm not a priestess or anything of that ilk, but the goddess has blessed me and seems pleased enough with my work. If anyone has anything to add, feel free, and feel free to correct me if it seems I'm misinformed. This is just what works and has worked for me. The most important thing really is just to be respectful, Aphrodite isn't all love and light, and can be quite temperamental and even vengeful, which makes her a powerful patron. Best of luck and blessed be!
The deity was skipping along, dressed fairly nicely today! They were wearing a pretty gothic style dress, ruffly with lace. They had made it themselves.
They had a little shell in hand, a pretty little abalone shell that they had brought Zuka. They were intending on trying to go out with him- but upon seeing Zuka in his current state...they froze. Oh boy.
-@vigilante-chaos
-> The blue shark had the hood of his truck popped open and muttering to himself, his arm buried deep within the truck's components and whatnot as if he was trying to fix something. -> That... That wasn't the normal Zuka. That was the famous Blackrockian soldier B. Zuka. What the fuck happened? Where was the normal Zuka?
Crystals for Poseidon
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Hello my dear coven, as you may know, I have been a devotee to Poseidon for some time now, and one thing I feel I often see people struggle with is finding the right crystals to devote to him! So I wanted today to share with you, as a geologist and a witch, some of the stones and gems that I feel have intrinsic ties to lord Poseidon! Let’s explore these together:
• Larimar
Discovered in an extinct volcanic chamber in the 1980s in the Dominican Republic, Larimar is a vibrant blue variety of the mineral pectolite. It was named by its discoverer, who named it after a combination of the name of his young daughter “Lara” and the Spanish world for sea: “mar”. It is renowned for its striking resemblance to the ripple of waves reflected on sand in tropical seas, and has become synonymous with sea magic in the neopagan community! This stone makes for a great offering for a god of the oceans, and his lord Poseidon is no exception!
• Ocean Jasper
Discovered on a coastal shelf in Madagascar in the late 90s, ocean jasper is a unique composite mineral of chalcedony and various sediments, which are matrixed in chalcedony resulting in a suspended orb effect, or densely dotted pattern. It is one of my favorite stones, and despite having been mostly mined out since it’s discovery, is still an exceedingly sought after material! It’s various colors and patterns are versatile, so it can be more personalized to Poseidon depending on what specific stone draws the devotee!
• Pearls
Probably one of the most valued and prevalent decorative natural materials in history, pearls are synonymous with wealth and beauty, and in turn with the ocean that bares them. Although salt water pearls are rare and extremely expensive, cultured pearls are, in my opinion as a geologist, just as valuable, and in my opinion as a studying marine biologist, generally more ethical as well! Any pearl of any value is a pearl fit for the lord of the seas and rivers! They are also the birthstone of June :)
• Coral
Speaking of ethics, here’s a “stone” that makes for a great offering, if you have an ethical means of procuring it: coral has been used as an ornamental material for millennia, but in the last 80 or so years, as climate concerns and conservation efforts have, understandably, been put in effect to preserve our dying coral reef ecosystems, it has become harder and harder to acquire it ethically. Generally speaking, most coral over 50 years old, or sourced off shore from beach-combing, has been acquired relatively ethically, and there are ways of collecting naturally dead coral for ornamental purposes as well. just make sure you check with sellers for transparency. It’s a gorgeous material if you can get it responsibly!
• Aquamarine:
Probably the only stone on this list directly attributed to Poseidon from the Greeks themselves besides pearls, aquamarine was actually believed by Greek and Phoenician mariners to offer protection in wayfaring from Poseidon’s wrath if worn underway, and many sailors wore talismans or rings of aquamarine! And due to its relative commonality, it comes in a variety of prices and qualities that can be calibrated to your price range! It’s also the birthstone of March :)
• Nacre
Nacre, or as it’s much more commonly referred to “mother of pearl” is the iridescent material that makes up the inner layers of mollusk shell, and like pearls, have been a popular material in jewelry and decoration for thousands of years. It can be acquired from many species of mollusk, but abalone, oyster, and conches seem to be the most common sources of it. Due to be being generally more affordable than true pearls, it is a popular choice for sea magic, and a great offering to king Poseidon!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Hopefully this might give you some inspiration for creating an alter for Poseidon, or for some offerings or components in magic or ritual, thank you for reading, and gods bless! 💙🔱

Okayy this is the first and probably only heathen post I'll put on this blog (maybe ill start a sideblog idk yet) but i got management approval to post this.
Here's the altar i have set up for Ullr! It's been a few years in the making but after half a year ? of putting some genuine dedication in it's finally Real Good. It'll continue to grow and change but it's become a nice little centerpiece for my worship + practice. Warm feelings and heightened communication all around.
There's really not a lot of information about Ullr's likes and associations the way there is with the gods who Haven't been mostly lost to time but the act of discovering what those things are is very fulfilling.
Component deets under the readmore if ur into that mwah i hope everyone is using this weekend to find some stillness and rest.
Shelf is on the north wall, handmade out of planks from shelves that were in my great grandparent's cellar and apple logs (not visible). I've got one of those under-shelf baskets for my journal and tarot deck + some utilitarian bits.
Altar cloth is a rabbit hide that i've had for Years, topped with:
Mule deer skull with gemstones balanced on top
Hanging from the antlers is my pendulum, deer knucklebone necklace, some meditation beads i'm working on, and dried oranges.
muley antler points
abalone shell for open-practice plant burning (i'm incredibly partial to artemesia tridentata) I don't. actually know for sure that abalone for sure isn't closed practice but i'm not using the S word or burning endangered plants so i'm hoping that it's not that big of a deal
More stones (lots of carnelian, rocks with "snow" in the name, stones that have been or could be knapped into arrowheads)
Bits of copper and brass. Copper rings, penny runeset, brass leaf.
Bella Sara 2nd series card. Yasmin "Retreat and gather new energy for taking steps on the road". I understand if this seems like a weird addition but he spent a full day sending me sign after sign to allow myself to rest & then i tore through 2 full besa booster boxes and knew what I had to do
Altar bowl. He asked specifically for the seeds that i'm planting in my garden this year. They'll be pulled back out when it's time to plant but it works out fine because everything in this bowl ends up in the garden eventually. I always drop pennies that i find or get as change in here (these don't get buried) and I've found that he likes food that would be good for outdoorsy trips. Granola bars, jerky, hard candy, crackers. High protein or nourishing foods that can be thrown into a pack and snacked on while traversing.
Goblet in the back has more seeds
Incense dish. Small thrifted bread pan filled with salt to hold the incense, doubles as a black salt generator.
Candle with ihwaz. Red and green are favorites but white will also work.
Shot glass filled with incenses he likes so I don't have to keep the boxes out.
Runestones. Purchased black tourmaline set, set made of clay I purified from my backyard and fired in my fireplace, and a yet-to-be-made set (a pile of small, flat stones that I've been slowly collecting over the months. I live in a mountain region so there are some cool ones and I'm excited for this set. It'll probably be attuned to the landvaettir (the mountains and their children) but Ullr is watching over them for now.
Another goblet for liquid offerings
Brass bell
Yew branches! I picked these up last night and ouioguh it's about time. I'll get new ones when the berries are ripe and dry them really well so they'll last.
On the wall is a piece of glass are I made at the glass museum :) representative of yew and its berries. I'm gonna move this down so it's closer to the candle + lights up better. I had a taller candle when I put it up so it's a little high for this one.
The other side of the shelf is my partner's altar to Arawn (welsh god of the wild hunt). He also has a skull (whitetail). Typical couple who worships hunting gods.
That's it!! thanks for lettin me give you tha tour i hope you enjoyed it

DBZ: Waves of Freedom Chapter 4: Out of The Cage
At those very words, Goku perked up. Never had anyone requested they be transformed into a merperson, until now. Vegeta’s sentence immediately became clear- he had wanted to leave behind his life on land in favor of a life beneath the ocean waves. “Of course, best buddy. I’ll gladly do that, but we have to do it step by step- this is a big step, and you can’t rush it!”, Goku replied enthusiastically. “Then what do we do, Kakarot? Because I really do want to become a merman and stay with you.”, Vegeta asked as he looked down at his human legs sorrowfully, knowing that they’d merge into a merman tail when the time was right. “How about we discuss a plan to ensure you have everything you need?”, Goku asked. Vegeta nodded. “I’ve decided that I want to leave Empire Oil Drilling Corps- but if Frieza finds out, I’ll never get the chance to stay with you.”, he said. “Then why don’t you write a resignation letter? I’ll get something to help with your transformation. We meet back here tomorrow.”, said Goku as he splashed back into the water gracefully. Vegeta nodded, and both boys immediately began to plan.
Inside his apartment, Vegeta immediately began writing down his resignation letter, wanting nothing more than to let Frieza know he was leaving his oppressive company once and for all. Taking out a piece of paper and a pencil, he wrote down with all of his heart and soul, putting strong emotions into every word he wrote down, which then resulted in a letter that would surely get the attention of Frieza:
To: Lord Frieza, CEO of Empire Oil Drilling Corps
Subject: Resignation
Dear Lord Frieza,
After much contemplation, I have decided to resign from my position effective immediately. While I appreciate the opportunities I have had at Empire Oil Drilling Corps, I can no longer ignore the call for a life beyond these walls. This company, which once seemed to promise greatness, has become a gilded cage, suffocating my spirit and stifling my true potential.
I need to find my own path, one that allows me the freedom to breathe and live fully. This is not a decision made lightly, but it is one I must make for my own well-being.
I am somewhere you can never reach me and never will.
Thank you for your understanding.
Sincerely,
Vegeta
Vegeta let out one massive sigh of relief as he placed the letter in an envelope and began to pack the shell collection that he had made himself- and amongst those shells and sand dollars were the bracelet Goku had given him and the abalone that his father gave him. And he even added a few if not all of the pictures of his parents, his Agate Mermaid, and some other important mementos. This is it. The start of a new life. He thought as he placed the lid on the box containing his shell collection, pictures of his parents, other mementos, the bracelet Goku gave him, and a few other trinkets, including the Agate Mermaid he genuinely treasured, he immediately snuck down to the beach under the cover of night and waited for one of the other merfolk he had met to arrive. At once, Piccolo and Yamcha immediately came to the surface and took the box. “We’ll keep this safe until you arrive in Atlantis.”, the octopus merman replied as a third merman, Master Roshi (A common dolphin merman) surfaced and ensured Vegeta everything would be fine. “Don’t worry. You have us to help.”, replied Launch, a spunky marlin mermaid as she surfaced alongside the others. Krillin and his daughter Marron, a young seahorse mermaid, also surfaced. As Vegeta watched Piccolo, Launch, and Roshi’s fins and Yamcha’s tentacles disappear beneath the surface, he felt like everything was going as it should’ve. “Hope to see you in Atlantis, bud!”, Krillin replied as he and Marron disappeared beneath the waves.
At the same time, Goku and his family swam across Atlantis all the way to the Upper Terraces of the metropolis known as Chalchiuhtlicue’s Falls, with cascading waterfalls and beautiful coral formations, and colorful fish went and came as they pleased, which was also where Bulma and Trunks resided. As they made their way there, jellyfish lit the way until they came to the door of the glamorous residence the innovative siren called home. “Bulma, I kinda need to talk to you. I wanna change Vegeta into a merman, and from what he’s told me, I think he knows what he’s getting into.”, he said as Bulma perked up from a project she was doing and swam over to her friend, while her son was stroking a gentle coelacanth. “Well, at least he knows how big of a change it is, but follow me.”, Bulma replied, swimming over to a case filled with seashells that looked like they were made from precious stones, her long blue hair floating in the water. She opened the case and pulled out a scallop shell made out of sapphire. “This is a Crystal Shell- it’s the only thing capable of turning him into a permanent merman, but his fins and freedom come at a massive cost: His life on land and any connections he’s made with land dwellers.”, Bulma explained sternly as she placed the shell into Goku’s hands. “So in short, he’s able to shapeshift as well, he can never be a true human again, and his heart will always belong to the ocean.”, Goku said as he placed the shell in a pouch and tied it shut. “Yes, yes, and yes. He can shapeshift to walk on land, but no matter what form he takes, whether it be human or merman, he will always answer the call of the ocean.”, Bulma said. “Thanks, Bulma. I’ll ensure he knows that information.”, Goku replied as he and his family swam back to Mazu’s Harbor to get some rest and prepare for the upcoming day.
The next morning, Vegeta woke up stronger than ever, knowing that this was his only chance to get out of the life he loathed and to resign from the company he had spent long hours at. Taking one last look at his apartment, he immediately made his way through the hallways with his resignation letter in hand, telling the landlord who ran the apartment that he was never coming back and was ready to take the next big step for himself. But before he made his way to Empire Oil Drilling Corps, he stopped by the water to explain to Goku that everything was going as it should. “Vegeta, you’re doing amazing. You’re almost there to your new life,” Goku said as he took out the crystal shell from the satchel. “What’s that? Is it some artifact, Kakarot?”, asked Vegeta as he sat down on the rocks. “Mhm. It’ll turn you into a permanent merman, so you never have to come back to a life that made you feel captive.”, the citrus tailed merman replied as he began to explain more. “I-I’ve made up my mind already. Is there anything else I should know?”, Vegeta questioned. “Well, there’s a price for your transformation, and that’s not your voice.”, said Goku. “Then what is it?”, the soon to be merman asked. “It’s your life on land,” the merman said.
Vegeta pretended to be shook, but he had made up his mind already. “My life on land? Well, the land holds nothing for me anymore anyway.”; replied Vegeta solemnly, clutching the resignation letter. “And also, you have to sever any connections for your own good. But then again, you didn’t have any good connections with your coworkers, didn’t you?”, he asked. “I never had, but I’ve got some amazing friends thanks to you.”, Vegeta said. “Ok. And once you’ve transformed, there’s no turning back into a human again. But then again, you have us, so there’s that- and you can shapeshift.”, Goku explained. “I’m ready to become a merman, no matter the cost.”, Vegeta replied as he felt the cooling Seabreeze against his face. “I’m glad you’re ready. Now go deliver that resignation letter, and we’ll head somewhere you can be transformed!”, Goku replied happily as Vegeta nodded and stood up, ready to deliver the resignation letter.
It would only be a matter of time before he would no longer be a true human.

hello again!, i love what you did with my theatrical hot take, now i really am gonna request something (lets push some creative boundries for the giggles and funsies why not)
Id love the idea that the reader (im female and from the south) is the new fileholder/book keeper for the EM city ward, and who also happens to be an actual witch (think stevie nicks, practical magic) and she keeps a low profile until chucky and miguel catch her doing something witchy (levetating, casting fireballs, etc), and after figuring out how much of an upper hand it would be to have, it becomes a rediculous competition between the latinos and the italians to "schmooze the witch" and have her work for their gangs (probably would be set in the first/second seasons)
as i said, its weird, its out there, but its funny and its fanfiction, we can do whatever we want in this rhealm, thanks if you can make this hilarious oddness come to life
Oh I absolutely love this one! I’m pagan irl and am into Stregheria, or Italian-American magick. It’s an interesting history and one I’d love to get into on here. I’m gonna set it in season 2 but most of the season 1 characters are still alive. That way we get the characters we love mixed in. It’s gonna be very much out there and a little zanier than my regular fics but this could be funnnnnn…
Witch!Reader x Oz Guys
Wonderful Witch of Oz (1/?)
Tumblr media
You’d just started as the librarian’s assistant at the Oswald State Correctional Facility.
It felt like a lifetime and two minutes all rolled into one.
The Oz guys seemed to like your presence enough, even if they were lewd about showing how.
One that jumps out at you was Poet, making rhymes about how he’d ‘like to see you moan and grunt and let a brotha paint the inside of your…’ you get the picture.
That wangler kid wasn’t any better, seeming to talk a bigger game than he could offer.
You shook your head. Kid was a Virgo Venus if you’d ever met one.
You didn’t mention that in your interview. That you could basically read people’s star charts just by their actions. You had an idea of what Rising Capricorn Tim McManus would think about that.
You also didn’t mention that you had more spices in your cabinet than actual food, and made yourself elixirs depending on what you needed for the day. Didn’t mention the black mallow tea that started your day.
You didn’t mention that you collect rocks and crystals and shells like a magpie hoarding some imagined wealth. Didn’t mention the aegirine pendant on your neck was to clear uncertainty from your path, nor that the abalone shell in your pocket was for tranquility.
You didn’t mention the tarot cards in your jacket that you checked before you entered that was immediately flipped to the Hierophant. Didn’t mention the black and white feather you found on the way in signifying change. Didn’t mention the angel number you’d seen before you entered, 444, the protector.
Okay so there was a lot you didn’t mention in your interview.
What you did say was the truth; you were happy to be there, and to be of any help you could be.
You were hired as the librarian, which you were happy enough to get, the vellichor alone being enough to satiate you.
You had some immediate regulars, like a quiet and pensive Bob Rebadow, or a blunt Augustus Hill.
You’re nice enough to any of them, not acknowledging any of the trinkets in your pockets meant to guide you through these strange halls of Oz.
Wizard of Oz, it made you laugh a little.
The most you had alluded to it came with Adebisi, who had come strutting through the door like he owned the place, smiling and making suggestive gestures at you. Saying something in Yoruba;
“Mo dupe lowo Egungun-Oya fun o loni, bẹẹni?” (I better thank Egungun-Oya for you today, yeah?)
Egungun-Oya is a Yoruba Goddess of Fate
You reply back, without thinking;
“O yoo ṣe daradara lati dupẹ lọwọ rẹ lojoojumọ.” (You would do well to thank her every day.)
His eyes go big and he stares at you like he’s seen some sort of ghost, walking away from you with wary expressions.
It made you go red. You weren’t supposed to understand Yoruba or the Orishas. You kept your head down for the rest of the morning.
You’d seen Peter Schibetta and Chucky Pancamo talking to the side in rapid Sicilian.
“Chi diavulu è stu novu bibbliotecariu?” (Who the hell is this new librarian?)
“Sugnu Y/N. Piaciri di canuscìriti.” (I’m Y/N, pleasure to meet you.)
Again, you weren’t meant to understand, but the Italians reacted a little better.
“Eyyy, you’re a paisan?”
“Not exactly, no.” You give them a couple of book recommendations, handing Peter a copy of Omertà by Mario Puzo, leaving them both confused.
You meet Cyril, a sweet soul with a glowing aura. He compliments your ‘rock necklace’ and you smile and thank him, pulling a piece of citrine out of your pocket and handing it to him.
“Oh… thank you.” He turns the stone over and over in his hand, smiling at it like a little secret you shared.
“It’s to bring light and joy into your life, Cyril. Remember to thank Demeter when you carry it.”
“Ok…” he looks up at the sky. “Thank you Demeter.”
It makes you giggle.
Miguel Alvarez and Chico Guerra also came in, to “Mira qué bombón” (check out the hottie)
You smirk and decide to freak them out as you had everyone else;
“Gracias cariños…” (thanks sweethearts…)
Miguel immediately got suspicious whereas Chico makes some goofy grin and comes up to you, gesturing at his crotch. The CO shuts it down before it can get too interesting.
When the end of the day came, you started to put things back where they belonged. The CO usually standing guard had long left, most of the prisoners being locked in their cells at this point. You relax a little, taking off your jacket and sifting through the pockets, reaching for your hag stone. You don’t expect to see much from the library, maybe a few auras or spooks, but as you look through, you see a man standing before you. A tall black man. You look without the stone and see nothing. You put it back up to your eye and see the man still.
“Hello. Who might you be?” You ask, eye still to the stone.
“You can see me?” The man asked, touching his body like he had not been of this world in some time.
“With my hag stone, sure. It shows me the spirit world. You used to live here, right?”
“My name’s Jefferson Keane. I was executed here last year.”
“Oh goodness, Jefferson Keane, it is you. I saw you on the news. I’m sorry they put you to death.” You comfort, still peering through the hole in your hag stone. “I don’t know if this is too personal, but do you know what kind of a spirit you are?”
“I’m a personification of Azrael.”
“An Angel of Death, huh? Fascinating. You don’t mind my asking some questions, do you? I’ve only ever happened upon Shinigami and Anubis personifications before. You were Muslim, yes?” You try not to come off too excited given the circumstances of his being there but you couldn’t help the wonder in your eyes.
“When I was reborn, yes. In the before life, no.” He spoke like some old poetry book you’d read in school. “Now, I do have some questions for you.”
“Ok, shoot.”
“Can you take a message to Kareem Said for me?”
“I could but I’m afraid they’d come off as insane ramblings. What kind of message did you have in mind?” You ask, being very patient. You’d learned not to rush the Angels of Death. They could get a little moody.
“Allah says to remember Ihsan, and when the ways torrential, use it for cover.”
“Ihsan… that means ‘to do good’ right? ‘Live by excellence’? I remember because its secondary meaning is ‘to create beauty’. I think that’s lovely; that doing good and creating beauty are in the same word.” You put your hand out to take his, and he shakes it, tenderly.
“I’ll be seeing you again?” You ask the air around you, and he smiles.
“I’ll be here.”
“Thank you for all you do. Guiding souls. It can’t be easy, but we appreciate you.”
“Thank you. Truly.”
“Goodbye, Mr. Keane!” You take the stone down, and turn back into your work, knowing the Angel of Death would be watching over you as you did so.
Unbeknownst to you, there was a presence in the doorway, watching you. It was Peter, watching with a quiet gasp at the realization of what you were doing.
His mother in law had been La Strega; the witch of the neighborhood. He knew about those that cavorted with the spirits beyond.
You could just he crazy, he repeated to himself. But then how had you known to talk to Jefferson Keane? It puzzled him, and his father had taught him better than to show all his cards before he knew what to do with the hand. He slunk away on the back wall, trying not to alert you that he was there.
You showed up the next day, ready for the hours to come. You still had to figure out how to give Kareem Said the message without seeming like a crazy person. Fuck, if Glynn knew half of the things you did or believed then you’d be locked up right alongside these men for insanity.
Cyril came bounding up to you the next day. Ryan wasn’t far behind, eying you with a little suspicion.
“Thank you for the pretty rock.”
“Of course, Cyril.
“Yeah, thanks for giving that to my brother. I got a question though.”
“Okay?”
“Why the fuck did you give that to my brother?”
“It’s a talisman-“
“A what?”
You take a deep breath.
“A good luck charm. You’re Irish, you get it.”
“I don’t mean to sound ungrateful.” He threw his hands up and shook his head. “But Cyril doesn’t get too many presents in here, y’know so I just gotta be cautious.”
“Understandable. Would you like me to help Cyril find a book?”
He tells you sure and you go off with Cyril, catching two pairs of eyes as you went. One was Peter Schibetta’s, and you honestly couldn’t have known what he knew about you. The second was Miguel Alvarez, talking judiciously to Chico in the corner, both with books open pretending to read.
“Look, something’s up with this librarian.”
“Sure it’s not ‘something’s up with Miguel about the librarian’,” Chico snorted, before clarifying; “like a boner, man.”
Miguel rubbed his temples.
“Look, just keep an eye on ‘em today, would ya?”
Chico nodded, and Miguel went back to eying you suspiciously. He watched as you got something out of the inner pocket of your jacket. Something fell out. It was a card. At first he thought it was a playing card but only upon further inspection did he see that the card had a tower on it with flames coming off. A single, ominous name headlined it; “The Tower”. It fell so it was reversed to you, and you pick it up quickly and put it back with its family.
A sudden thud of a chair leg against the floor alerted you to Miguel’s wandering eyes. You smile innocently enough, but he doesn’t buy it for a second. You go over to him.
“Jesus, Miguel, you’re looking at me like I’m La ciguapa or something.”
(Dominican folk story about a woman with backwards feet who lure men into the woods.)
“That’s another thing, how the fuck do you know la ciguapa?”
You’re taken a little off guard.
“I like reading, that’s all.”
“And that’s how you learned Spanish?”
“Yea-“
“And Italian and whatever the fuck Adebisi speaks.”
“…Yoruba.”
“I don’t give a shit!” Miguel raised his voice a little and lowered it when it looked like a CO was coming over. “It’s fuckin’ weird.”
“Sorry,” you answer a little dejectedly, shifting from foot to foot. “I don’t mean to come off some type of way. I just… I do a lot of cultural reading. Cheaper than a vacation, I guess.”
Miguel suddenly feels like a dick for snapping at you and settles down, his hackles still somewhat raised.
“I’d appreciate it if you didn’t insult my intelligence. What’re the odds you just happen to know fuckin’ Yoruba of all things? That you carry around crystals and those weird cards in your pocket-“
“You saw that? Which way was it facing towards you?” You ask quickly, realizing your deck may not have been trying to tell you something, but rather, tell him something.
“What do you mean, it was right side up to me-“
You pull Miguel by his arm and guide him more off to the side.
“You’re sure of that? Did anyone else see the card that you know of or just you?”
“I think I was the only one looking, what the fuck-“
“Miguel, please, I’ll explain everything to you later today. Not here but someplace more secluded. In the meantime,” you reached into your other deep pocket and pulled out a small jar, about as big as two thimbles. It had a small black feather, a small piece of obsidian and amethyst, black salt, and cinnamon in it. You hand it to him. “Please keep this on you. It should do the trick.”
“You can’t be-“
“I’ll pay you a hundred dollars if you keep this on you until I can explain.” You look over your shoulder to see if anyone is staring at you. So far, it’s still just Peter Schibetta, eyeing the transaction carefully.
“You serious?”
“As the plague, Miguel. I’ll explain everything to you when we can get a little privacy, but in the meantime just keep this jar on you.”
He assures you that he will and walks away with an uneasy stomach, wondering what on earth you were talking about.
You turn your back to him and go back to your books when you run straight into Peter Schibetta, his cold brown eyes raking you over.
“Sorry, I didn’t mean to run into you, Peter-“
Your heart freezes in your chest when you see his hand. With both the pinky and the index finger straightened, he made a fist with the other three, pointing his fingers at the ground. That’s the Italian Mano cornuto, or horned hand, to protect against the malocchio, or the evil eye.
“Peter… what…?”
“Just a little protection.” He’d finally figured out what to do with his cards.
“I don’t know what you’re-“
“Tu sì na strega, veru?” (You’re a witch, aren’t you?)
“…why don’t we talk in private today after hours. You can request to see me and I’ll get Glynn to approve it.”
“Oh, he’ll approve it, I’ve got him by the balls.” He leaned into you, making sure not to raise his voice. “You were talking to Keane last night, right? The guy they executed?”
You don’t say anything, not wanting to give him any more ammunition than he already had. He nodded, having gotten what he needed anyway.
“Make the time to see each other later. I’m not gonna rat on you. I just wanna talk. Maybe reach an understanding between us. Capisce?”
“Capisciu.” (I understand.)
Holly hell were things spiraling out of control quickly.
You excuse yourself to the bathroom and begin to walk towards it, the flip flopping of your shoes matching the speeding race of your heart. You see a familiar face, but only distantly, as you know you’ve seen him on TV.
“Minister Said!” You exclaim, and he nods at you. You give him a small, panicked smile. “Remind me, I have something to tell you later.”
“Why not right now?” He smiles at you and waits for you to speak. Fuck. You hadn’t quite figured out how to say it yet.
“I was going through the Qur’an and saw a word highlighted in our library’s copy. I was meaning to ask you what it meant, in terms of spiritual meaning, of course.”
He gestured broadly to say, go ahead.
“Ihsan?”
His brows furrow and his face pales. You repeat yourself.
“It meant to do good, but a secondary meaning is to create beauty. Funny. I hadn’t thought about that in some time now.”
“I wonder what the implications of doing good and creating beauty being equated could mean?” You were trying to lead him down the path Jefferson Keane had asked of you. He paused, a slight quiver to his lip, and a profound silence filling the space between you.
“Perhaps you give me a day to reflect on that.”
“Yeah, okay, I can do that.”
You bob your head at him and turn to go to the bathroom.
Ah well. 1/3 ain’t bad.
