Davos is headed to Skagos to find Rickon and will likely land with him. The party will include Osha who is currently Rickon’s mother figure and having experience raising seven sons, Davos who may be the father figure Rickon needs and Wex playing a more brotherly role. 

The found family of the Southron Davos, the wildling Osha, the Ironborn Wex Pyke and the Northerner Rickon Stark effectively embody the situation of the North. Every group in the North right now is represented and united around the direwolf both figuratively and literally in the form of Rickon and Shaggydog in the face of threats like the Boltons and their Lannister backers and later, the Long Night. 

When the snows fall and the white winds blow, the lone wolf dies, but the pack survives. Summer is the time for squabbles. In winter, we must protect one another, keep each other warm, share our strengths.

My dark urge, Wex, is a wood elf, and I've wondered if he's bumped into another murderer with memory issues during his centuries stalking Baldur's Gate. They would've hung around the same circles more or less. Trawling lower city brothels, slums, and parties for faces that wouldn't be missed too much but would still satisfy their respective needs. Inevitably, I think they'd set their sights on the same warm body a few times. Some unfortunate soul would sit between them thinking they're the luckiest person in Faerûn having two pretty elves fight over which one gets to "take them home."

They know what the other is, to an extent. Predators may recognize eachother, but they don’t quite respect one another. Astarion believes him to be a dime a dozen murderer, while Wex sneers at him for being a mere spawn powerless to even savor the warm bodies he plucks off the streets.

Sometimes when Wex "wins" he makes sure to butcher the wretch close enough to the tavern that the spawn might smell it. Torturing him with what he can’t have.

He doesn't need to, of course. So much blood has soaked into the wood elf's skin that Astarion has to dab rosemary oil under his nose to keep himself steady whenever he’s unlucky enough to be in the same room.

They only cross paths a handful of times over the centuries, but on their last few meetings Astarion considered forgoing his hunt and leaving with the woof elf. He knows he’ll kill him. His mangled corpse will be left in an alleyway for the morning sun to dust away, but it would be over.

He’d be destroyed by someone who has some semblance of understanding of who he is. It’ll be at the hands of the closest thing he has to a friend in this nightmare.

The thoughts dissolve under Cazador’s lash almost as quickly as they form, and over the next half century almost all memory of the wood elf is scarred over. Until one impossible and sunny day he meets someone that feels so torturously familiar but doesn’t seem to recognize him at all

Wex’s story bothers me so much. Let’s say he happens to stay downwind from Osha and Rickon so Shaggydog doesn’t smell him right, then there’s no way that he would’ve heard their plans to go to Skagos. Bran and Osha don’t even mention Skagos when they split up. Even if he magically got close enough to hear Osha telling Rickon (the 3/4 year old) that that’s where they were going, why does he go to Wyman Manderly? There are certainly other lords closer than White Harbor if all he wanted was to trade information for a place to sleep and a meal. I just I don’t get the motivation, his story doesn’t make any sense. It’s not that I think it’s a plot hole, because I absolutely believe GRRM will wrap this up with a neat little bow in Winds or in Dream but I cannot puzzle it out for the life of me.

after one too many posts and fics, i have to say this.

the reason lan zhan likes the rabbits, is because they were given to him by wei ying. yes, the rabbits. the whole ass rabbit colony in the cloud recesses post 13 years is because of the og rabbits, that were given, gifted, to lan zhan by wei ying.

its the same as him keeping the flower he'd stolen from wei ying (along with his first kiss) for more than a decade and a half, preserved and well taken care of. its the same as him keeping jars of emperor's smile in the jingshi.

i fully belive that if wei ying had not given lan zhan those rabbits that lan zhan wouldn't have had that much of an interest in them. its all because of wei ying.

but wei ying, that dense motherfucker, barely remembers that he's the one who gave lan zhan rabbits in the first place and because lan zhan is absolutely obsessed in love with him he's held onto everything about those rabbits forever.

its wei ying who thinks lan zhan, ice prince second jade of lan lan wangji, mr tall handsome and stone cold, secretly likes bunnies. dense as a blackhole wei ying doesnt connect the dots that lan zhan likes those rabbits because he's in love with wei ying and wei ying is the one who gave them to him. - and the fandom takes this at face value.

please. i beg. stop making rabbits lan zhan's special interest or pets or favorite animal without wei ying's influence. this is like the harry potter fandom making chocolate remus lupin's favorite food and half his personality.

i get that the idea of someone like ice bitch supreme lan wangi liking soft cuddly small animals is very cute and attractive, i do. but its incorrect without acknowledging the why and the how he likes them, vis a vis the influence wei ying had in this regard.

Lamb: Half-Drow, Sorcerer/Paladin, Soldier

Romance : Astarion (good ending)

He’s tried being a sacrifice and a soldier but in both cases he’s seen the death of everyone but himself. He refuses to dwell on it for any amount of time while sober. The losses haven’t made him that kind or sentimental, they’ve just caused so much resentment to build up in his chest. I think that’s why he’s drawn to Astarion. Lamb recognizes the bitterness hiding beneath the vampire’s whole haughty, devil-may-care routine because he knows he’s doing the same thing. They play off each other like that. Lamb will try to get under Gale’s skin by bragging about his skills as a sorcerer until the wizard fingers are twitching to cast a silence spell on him. All the while Lamb’s eyes are darting to the far end of the camp to see if the little show got a smile out of Astarion. Over time, seeing him *truly* smile becomes his new cause in life. One he’d happily lay down his life for in the end.

Wex: Woof Elf, Cleric (of Myrkul), Urchin

Romance: Astarion (bad ending)

Wex is a product of his environment, which is to say shitty. He spent the past few centuries in circumstances remarkably similar to Astarion, but his hatred isn’t limited to his abusers. He wants to see the entire world crumble under his boot and if the weak little vampire spawn wants to fawn after him he’s alright with that too. Astarion reminds Wex of a weaker version of himself, one still looking over his shoulder for the master he fears. He feels contempt for him, but also derives so much enjoyment from tormenting that pretty face. Wex’s cruelty and confidence are probably very enticing to Astarion. It’s familiar to the vampire in the worst way, and I can see him becoming a Cazador replacement for Astarion to latch on to. They both have a shared lust for power, but I think they’d scrap over it like starving dogs. It could get very dark...

Delight- Warlock, Tiefling, Criminal

I literally cannot unsee her romancing Astarion.

Their pasts just line up and mirror so well, as do their current situations, and while she's not outright cruel she's definitely not a Good Guy. She finds him funny and over the top, and is entertained by his poor lying but drawn in by his vulnerability. He finds her contradictory but also funny (laughing together about the walking undead husband was a sweet moment between them lmao) and is starting to find her smartass comments and teasing endearing. They don't just become good lovers, they become good friends, and they will be wonderfully morally grey and chaotic together.

Briallen- Half-Orc, Sorceror, Folk Hero

This bitch can fit so much Survivor's Guilt inside her!! I think she will really fit well with Halsin all things considered. She is, down to her core, a genuinely good person who wants to protect and help, even if she sees her heroism as a selfish act to punish herself. I can see her being drawn to Halsin's strength, confidence and wisdom and I can see him drawn to her bravery, selflessness and serenity. But hopefully he will be able to curb her extremely low sense of self-preservation and she will show him that she will accept him in his entirety with no strings. Two folks who really admire each other slowly falling head over heels for each other!

Iker- Human, Ranger, Soldier

Gale. Not just because he's a magebreaker and I love the whole enemies/rivals to lovers, but because Gale is a wonderfully complicated person and turns out Iker finds complicated hot. I can see Gale intially finding his standoffish and straight up cunty behaviour annoying/vaguely amusing at first, but become increasingly curious about the person he used to be before everything. Iker looks at Gale and they think "Fuck. He's hot. Damn mage." and becomes fascinated with the fractured man beneath the perfect veneer. Idk about Gale, but Iker is actually the devoted type and in the future won't care what he does as long as he lets them stay by his side. Unhealthy obsessions all round let's get on it cunts.

Rowan- Half-Elf, Wizard, Scholar/Sage

I am truly a bit stumped with them BUT I can see them making poor decisions and falling for Wyll. He's got secrets and they're a curious sort who naturally wants to uncover them, for good or ill. They trigger Wyll's protective instinct, as they are particularly a bit naive about the wider world beyond their studies and dig sites and he's as soon to find them crouching down in the middle of a battle protecting a suspected artifact as he is to find them completely closed off to the world with her nose in a tome. He would find their completely objective opinion about his situation surprisingly refreshing and they want to study him under a microscope (oh and he has a very nice smile they can't seem to say no to). They'll make him better, he'll make them worse lol.

Zlatan- Githyanki, Cleric, Outlander

Oh Shadowheart for sure. Not only does he find her beautiful, he's intrigued with the fact that such a kind person (objectively) worships such an evil goddess. He's always been fascinated with outlier cultures and beliefs, like the drow. She would obviously be wary of him at first, but will be pleasantly surprised by his easygoing and cheerful nature yet shocked by his daredevilry and adventurousness. When she finally lets down her guard and they get closer, I can see them having actually quite a romantic dynamic between them.

Delshad [Name WIP]- Dragonborn, Fighter, Noble

I'll be honest, I was inspired by the Panel to make a hot af dragonborn to sweep Karlach off her feet. I'm weak. He is literally Just Some Guy. He's polite, he's softspoken, he likes embroidery and he will Fuck You Up when pressed. He would find Karlach very, very cute once she trusts him with her more romantic side and he can withstand her sparky tendencies with all his scales. She would appreciate the fact that he's pretty non-conforming in terms of his status and his gender stereotype and that he's only a gentleman with her FOR her. Very sweet, very soft relationship ahoy!!

Tav [Name Undecided]- Gnome/Deep Gnome, Rogue, Urchin or Charlatan?

Now this Tav is very much a recent and underdeveloped idea, because I saw The Prettiest gnome Tav the other day and I had this image of a cute gnome lady Absolutely Down Bad for Lae'zel because she loves big strong hot mean women. I imagine a very messy, horny dynamic since this Tav despises any authority on principle and Lae'zel comes from a society very much built upon obeying authority, but I can see Lae'zel finding Tav's dedication to chaos and getting things done her way or no way quite attractive.

in modern asoiaf wex is theon’s 12 year old algebra tutor (child genius and teenage dirtbag buddy comedy duo situation) who theon enlists to do the accounting for his business (selling vapes filled with water to kids in the park for 50 bucks each) until lysa finds out he sold robin an ‘e-cigarette’ and calls the police. wex lies to the cops for theon (who’s now temporarily blinded after lysa maced him) so theon is forever in this seventh grader’s debt but the only thing wex asks for is a date with asha because he knows it’ll piss theon off sooooo bad. asha thinks it’s the funniest thing in the world also she hates theon so she and qarl take wex out for ice cream while theon vents in his journal (robb said his therapist recommends it to blow off steam) until he gets bored and punches a hole through the wall next to a neat row of other punched holes covered by posters of half naked men covered by pictures of half naked women. their business is failing btw bran keeps stealing the pre-janked vapes from theon’s bag so he can give them to jojen (neither of them vape they just like to have them) and theon is convinced that the police are watching him and taking his vapes before he can sell them so that the government can force him to get a job because ramsay (lab partner in biology who always smells like pepperoni and b/o) told him about area 51 and now theon’s really scared of the fbi monitoring him and busting up his fake vape business and putting him away for life in one of those freaky facilities ramsay won’t shut up about where they torture you and probe you probably (he tries not to think about the probing because it makes his stomach feel weird). ok good night i loveyou
