As a western Shane really has it all. Salt of the earth homesteaders fighting against cattle barons! A reluctant gunfighter! Jack Palance as a menacing black hat! And to top it all off, the Grand Tetons loom beautifully, intimidatingly over the entire proceedings.

DeForest Kelley is often cited as having appeared in three dramatizations of the events of the gunfight at the O.K. Corral. But if Oakley Hall's novel Warlock is essentially a retelling of the infamous Tombstone, Arizona feud, wouldn't Kelley's role in the film adaptation mean that he actually appeared in four portrayals?
