The Chronicles of Karai Getting Her Shit Together by Crowdog - TMNT 2012. Post season 2-canon divergence where Karai shows up at the farmhouse instead of staying in the city. Her relationship with Leo blossoms as they’re both forced to face their inner demons. A beautiful, vicious, surprisingly funny story about coping with trauma while being a young monster in love. Tw for abuse, torture, PTSD, disabilities, noncon, alcoholism, molestation.

77 Things Michelangelo is Not Allowed to Do on a Mission by Winnychan - All versions. A cute, funny parody of “Skippy’s List” from a great writer who was taken too soon.

My R by cxlesstial - TMNT 2012. Pushed to the edge, Leo is forced to confront the sufferings of his loved ones along with his own. Inspired by Miss Chief’s beautiful, heartbreaking Youtube videos My R and Self-Inflicted Achromatic. Tw for depictions of depression and suicidal thoughts/actions.

Casting Stones at the River by GoblinCatKC - TMNT 2003. An immortality fic with plenty of angst and NSFW sex, including T-cest and polyamory. One of the first TMNT fics I ever read, and still one of the best. 

By Arrangement by theherocomplex - An Arranged Marriage AU where the fate of a world-saving alliance between humans and mutants rests on a reluctant union between Donatello Hamato and warrior April O’Neil. A sweet, funny slow-burn fic.

Not Our Problem by Kyn - “Set in a future in which the Foot took over the East Coast for over a decade. The three surviving turtles have finally killed Shredder, but remain bitter, jaded, scarred, and more than a little distrusting of humanity. Lots of hurt/comfort/psychology/fraternal love/infighting. All the small things by taizi - TMNT 2012. When an accident leaves Donnie unusually smol, Mikey has to deal with being a big brother for the first time ever.

jade green eyes turned white by subtlyfailing - TMNT 2012. A powerful and brutal exploration of the dark Raph storyline at its fullest potential.

Completely Casual by Werepirechick - TMNT 2012. Casey, Donnie, and eventually April stumble into a relationship. Winner of FIRST PLACE in the Universal TMNT Erotica Fanfic Competition 2016 for STEAMIEST SLASH/FEMSLASH. Warnings for self-loathing and bad guys being hateful.

Baby Diaries by the Peanut Gallery by moonie - TMNT 2003. The TMNT and their allies record their thoughts after one of Bishop’s schemes leaves them with a very small new member.

A Son For A Daughter by sleepseeker - TMNT 2012. When Splinter attempts to briefly trade Leo to the Foot in order to rescue Karai, he makes a grave miscalculation that will upend all their lives. Tw for intense non-con and mutilation.

Devil took your hand by moogsthewriter and taizi - TMNT 2012. The Hamato Clan races to save their youngest member after he’s brainwashed by the Foot; a beautiful and terrible story full of angst, violence, and survival.

Past to Present by crabapplered - TMNT 2003. A sad, sexy tale of the SAINW TMNT bonding with each other and their newly returned Donnie through group intercouse, because why not?

Raphael/Donatello Mating Drabbles by Plastron - TMNT 2003. A steamy anthology with turtlecest and the occasional touch of dub con.

These Are Our Days by love_killed_the_superstar - All versions. An adorable description of Mikey and Woody’s relationship.

Ten Minutes by kay_cricketed - Mirage verse. Leo pushes himself to the edge in order to meet a seemingly inconsequential goal. A lyrical, angsty story from a spectacular writer.

Ronin by Lexifer - TMNT 2012. A Leorai story in the aftermath of a devastating final battle between two clans.

Laugh Till It Hurts by BrightLotusMoon -TMNT 2003. Love, angst, and peculiar coping methods in the aftermath of a battle.

Freeze, Starve, and Break Stuff by Abnormal_Cleric  - Raph is cracking at the edges, and Donnie might be the only one who can pull him back. Tw for self-loathing and self-harm.

Together Again by InkyTurtle (Melodistic) - TMNT 2012. Donnie has finally gotten his beloved brothers back--sort of. Now the question is whether he’s the turtle they left behind.

can’t let a cold heart be free. by Chandrakantya - An angsty little Leorai story on a rooftop.

Gravid Problems by Gemi - The TMNT are in for a big change after Donnie gives Leo and Raph some very interesting news. A sweet, funny, adorable little work; warnings for mpreg and tcest.

Countdown to Clarity by LittleKy - 2007 movie and other versions. An angsty reverse-chronology fic discussing the cracks that might have spread through Leo and Raph’s relationship.

Big Brother by outrunningdismay - “AU where the brothers hatched at different times.” A adorable work full of smol turtles and Leo learning to be a big brother one step at a time.

Maelstrom by FicklePencil - Raph’s thoughts in the aftermath of “Broken Foot.” A lot of angst for a rather short fic.

Unfortunately, I can't get the link (my device keeps blocking it TnT) and I don't remember their tumblr name, but please please please go read it and give them love I am not kidding this is such a good story.

And obviously since I loved it so much I drew their outfits from the party. Because yahs, my little kings and queen.

Mmmmm.... What if I am a tmnt fan who is looking for good fics 👀

Then you absolutely should read my favorite fic of all time if you like hurt!Leo and hurt!Mikey 😁. It is written in the first person which I know bugs a lot of people, but the voice for Mikey is so good and engaging that you won’t even notice it. The 2k3 characterization in it is brilliant and you can actually “hear” the turtle's voices when you’re reading.

Underdark by Nekotsuki 

He’s hanging upside down in the middle of the great underdark, weighed down by a half hysterical turtle in the middle of a bunch of pipes and water and rock that are conspiring to kill us both off, and Leo still manages to sound like he Has A Plan.

Same as it Never Was divergent - in a world where by miracle alone the brothers survive and Donatello came back from "Purgatory". This is a series of various oneshots, drabbles, and snippets from an alternate ALTERNATE universe in which Leonardo is blind, Donatello is guilt stricken, Michelangelo is learning to forgive, and Raphael is learning how to cast aside his anger in favour of loving his brothers.

Just read this story this past week and it’s freakin hilarious! I love the trope of a character getting split into different aspects of themself, and this story does a great job of it with Donnie! I love totally love the dark version of him. He’s not evil, just very morally ambiguous! Lol

PREVIEW:

They’re all understandably jumpy, the first little while after kicking Shredder’s shiny metal ass. New York itself is jumpy; the rampage of destruction over the course of 48 hours left long, random patterns of ruins. The news hasn’t stopped raving about it, with the internet being even worse- but, hey, if someone wasn’t in the know about what went down, the fearful confusion is natural.

Leo is someone who knows the details, however, which is why he feels irked that an unease hasn’t left him even a week later. His injuries, like the rest of his family’s, have healed enough that he can be reasonably trusted not to keel over in a gutter. The immediate two days following Shredder’s banishment were spent basically living in each other’s pockets; no one had been eager to be alone overly long.

Raph is still feeling like that, even if he won’t admit it outright. His fretful clinginess is part of why Leo is roaming on his own right now; like, of course he loves his big brother, but Raph’s anxiety about abandonment has ratcheted up to an overwhelming level. He just needs some space and a bit of fresh air, then he can head home and let Raph smother him with affection again.

Leo wishes Mikey the best of luck, since their youngest brother is an even bigger target for mother-henning, and Leo and Donnie have both scampered off for alone time tonight.

Alone time which, admittedly, isn’t helping as much as he’d hoped. Leo stops off on a building overlooking a torn-up street; it used to be a string of shops, cafes, and the like, but now it looks like a tornado blew through. The sight of the damage makes him feel a little queasy, silent judgement of his own actions coming to mind not for the first time.

Maybe if he’d been faster, maybe if he’d been cleverer. Maybe if he’d talked Big Mom into a better deal, maybe if he hadn’t squandered so much time making sure everything lined up just so. Then maybe this street and dozens of others wouldn’t be in the state they are.

Hello teenage mutant ninja turtles fans!! This is the first tmnt art piece that I have the courage to post. Be kind, please :'). These are my interpretation of mikey and leo from the amazing fic "So, I guess... We all have issues" by the talented @onthespectrumwriting also known as Werepirechick on AO3. ( I have no idea how to link the fiction, sorry...). I highly recommend anyone to read it and give all the love and appreciation to the creator, because it's a well thought work that few can accomplish. None that I can think of currently, but there probably is one/are some I'm not aware of 🤔

T: Fandom tropes I can't stand?

Every human (beside those who are important to the show/plot) who sees the turtles immediately freaks out in total panic. Same reaction most times. Screams, and bonus points if they call them a monster

U: My 3 favorite fic writers and why?

Title of #1 has to go to Werepirechick over on AO3. A lot of TMNT works. The stuff she makes can be odd, but the emotional charge is very visceral

#2: Friggy on AO3 yet again, who is still going strong with their Predator fanfic when the fandom needs it, and also because they encouraged my own fic when no one else did.

#3: I actually am not actively following a lot of fanfic writers, none that I do quite reach my "top 3 (I'm sorry ;-;), so I have to skip out on that one

Z: Do I ever write/read major character death? Any characters who's deaths I can't tolerate?

I haven't written any major character deaths for literally anything because my glass heart can't handle it lmfaooo, but I do read it once in a while if I'm feeling ~extra cathartic~

And as a general rule, I can hardly stomach any of the ninja turtles dying, but I think that goes without saying 👁️👄👁️✨

Well, I've been listening to a lot of cyberpunk/Synthwave music lately.

Why have I been listening to that kind of music?

Because I read Three Days to Live by Werepirechick. Hands down the best Human AU turtles story I've ever read. And also, like, insanely good in general. It needs to be a movie. Seriously, I want to edit amvs to this story.

The last thing Toby sees is a Bedrock Behemoth, shaped like a sushi cat mixed with a human skull, blasting laser beams out of its eyes at him.

(Why has Sushi Cat become such a horror? Why couldn’t Claire chill with the Papa Skull merch? Why in god’s name did Krel prototype his sprite with a laser gun?)

Getting shot through the chest with lasers hurts about as much as he could have imagined. Which is a moment of such pure agony Toby doesn’t even have any final thoughts- they’re burned out of him as the cauterized holes in his chest stream noxious smoke and he falls backwards.

There’s a period of nothingness.

And then everything comes rushing back into him, brilliant and golden and bright.

Toby has to let out a cry of exhilaration, energy surging within him, rocketing up into the air and throwing his arms up at the sky. The horizon stretches on and on around him, the ambient warm light of the Land of Canyons and Stairwells turning the rocky terrain rich reds and browns and golds. Wind billows around Toby as he hangs there, feeling like every part of himself is somehow much more alive than it used to be. Filled to the brim with- with something, and it feels like afternoon sun, like hard earned triumph, like pushing past his limits and finding renewed strength, it feels like-

It feels like hope. Like Hope.

summary:

The period right after the end of a shower should be quiet. Students lingering inside buildings, making certain the rain has passed completely; a hush of urban wildlife, doing much the same as humans are. Traffic beyond the school grounds is muted, the shush of the riverways at a distance from them. It should be quiet, almost peaceful.

Asakusa’s soft sniffling is too loud. The stifled, frustrated tears she’s crying are somehow just as noisy as Mizusaki’s outrage.

“…Why don’t you two go ahead,” Sayaka says, absently popping her knuckles, one by one with her thumb.
