Were the World Mine has some really obvious and even pithy symbolism like the drama teacher watering her plant but the shot of Timothy's mom, who left her husband when he rejected their gay son and struggles with his sexuality due to her religion and the culture in town, cutting up her own wedding dress in order to build him fairy wings for his role as Puck and him wearing them even before they're finished is more than enough to make me forgive it

I just saw Were the World Mine for the first time in years today, and I couldn’t contain my laughter.

Imagine this: Tim just came out to the BatFam, and naturally as a big brother Dick thinks they should make the next family movie night one about LGBTQ+ plots, only for the first movie in the list to be Were the World Mine, and as soon as Oh Timothy started playing Dick and Jason decided to make it their mission to sing it to Tim at any possible time for MONTHS. The whole family laughs at this outcome. Tim is bothered, the popcorn has gone stale, no other movies were watched.

But seriously someone pls animate Dick and Jason singing this to Tim on the regular.
