Weekend Musings: The strike continues
Edition 70 Last week, Boeing declared its third quarter results with a over $6 billion loss. This was followed by the machinist union voting to continue the strike. This comes amidst the fact that Boeing paid a considerable compensation to its erstwhile CEO and appointed a new one in another of its challenging years. Starting with the Lion Air crash, followed by Ethiopian and subsequent…

Consistency, part 3
In 2018, I swam just over 250,000m. Between 2014 and 2017, I swam just under 200,000m. Unsurprisingly, now that I’m putting the work in, I’m seeing results.
Today’s swim set was a 1200m continuous swim after which the Garmin told me I had some new personal records. After trawling through my training diaries I found a few more 1200m swims:
01 June 2018: 28 minutes flat
22 Sept 2018: 28:20 (guess who took it easy after her race in July)
13 Oct 2018: 27:16
19 January 2019: 26:33
And below are some times for distances that the Garmin tracks.

I’m also getting lats and triceps, but they’re still teeny tiny.
I wonder what my swimming goals for 2019 should be.

Random Musings Random Musings Have you ever noticed how frail our inner peace is, one minute we find ourselves fighting with the world with all our might for someone, and the next minute sees this very person fighting with us for the world.

Sunday Morning
There’s an eerie stillness that permeates the air after the initial smattering of raindrops. A distant caw of a crow breaks the silence, followed by the muffled whoosh of a car passing by on wet pavement. The sky is beautifully even despite it’s grayness and envelopes the world in a subdued, gently melancholic light. Raindrops start to fall again, tapping softly in waves against my window. And I sit here watching, listening, feeling it all in my soul to let them soothe the cyst of unshed tears, censored truths, and raw emotions that grows deep within my heart.

Weekend Musings: Catch the culprits
Edition 69 The last few days have been very turbulent in Indian skies with multiple bomb threats for Indian carriers flying not just domestic but also international. Thankfully all of them have been hoaxes but have led to airliners landing at remote places and being escorted by fighter planes. This puts considerable strain on passengers, airlines, crew and most importantly security agencies –…

The Weeks They Pass
The Weeks They Pass
By Anna Steward How’s it stayed this way? Hypnotized and monetized Refrain climatized To the neutral precipitation Of lulling expectations. Framed! By the elusive Want and need, Pillaged! By mediocrity, The constant hum Electric and vibrating Vibrant visages videoed In from Hollywood. Understood? Good! Retain integrity Embrace speciality And stay True – To – You. Regrow rotten roots Reaped before…

Exes.
Exes.
What draws us back to them? Invariably, almost everyone has had a thought of getting back together with an ex. This is, of course, taking into account the relationships where things didn’t go horribly wrong, like the ex in question hurting the relationship beyond measure. This is a general idea. It obviously may not pertain to every relationship in the demographic of human romantic pursuits.
I think this idea got away from me. Even I can’t make sense of what I’m writing. Wow.
Anyway, so yeah. Maybe exes are just a doorway to something familiar, something comfortable. In a world that fears change (for the most part) and yet change is the only constant, something familiar to hold on to, can give a sense of stability and security. Well, that’s what I think.
This is unfinished. For now.

it starts now.
Tumblr media
i've been having weight issues and i've always told myself that i'd love to have a better physique now that we've closed the "factory" (if you get what i mean…). i have a hard time keeping to an exercise regimen and i seriously don't have the chops to do it. so now it's going up and down the staircase, following some pilates moves from Cassey Ho of blogilates, and of course, eating right. yes, gotta give up cupcakes and cakes for now. well, maybe if i start making healthier options?
i've only just started and so far i love the changes. i'm excited to see the end results. in the meantime, i shall dream about getting into clothes and not having to hold my breath. so yes, doing it right starts now.

Overused words
As per the Dictionary (yes, I am someone who enjoys reading the dictionary from time to time, its also my favorite app on my phone), the word Word is a noun which is defined as a single distinct meaningful element of speech or writing, used with others (or sometimes alone) to form a sentence and typically shown with a space on either side when written or printed.  That’s quite lovely, isn’t it.…

Sitting on a worn-out futon, my little laptop balanced on my knees, watching my cat sleep in the open doorway, the sound of rain softly hitting the mossy cement patio. Not a bad day.

Saturday, Saturday, Saturday
Well, I made it 10 videos into the PHP training and had to stop. I was really hoping to get through them all today, but I was falling asleep at the keyboard. Not because I was bored, but just sitting there staring at my monitor made me sleepy. I'll watch a few more tomorrow, then I'll head off to visit Lil- tomorrow is Kennedy's 5th birthday party. I'm shocked because I swear she was turning 6. She's so smart and grown up, you'd swear she was older. God I love that little girl to pieces, haha. Anyhow, I had a great idea and I thought that if I made a video of myself and put it on my website, people might be more inclined to get in touch with me and have me do work for them. But I sat for hours (literally like 3 or 4 hours) trying to make a video and every time I was miserable with the outcome. I knew what I wanted to say, but I didn't know how to say it. And since I've never willingly gone on camera before, that was even harder. I was being too conscious of what I was saying, even when I told myself to just let go and let everything flow naturally. I found myself stuttering a lot or pausing for long periods of time trying to think of what to say next. So I guess that idea's out the window. I'll just have to keep doing what I'm doing, and hope that somebody will get in touch with me
