I am howling at the sky for the look tonight that Harvey Guillén staked to death, spat on, and made it beg on the red carpet. Instead of just ranting to my queer fashion/fandom retail friends again, I took our collective slobber and tears to outline my plea to the fashion gods.
Why doesn’t this man have a ‘mens’wear line in every American mall? There is a gap in the market for adventurous, queer friendly suiting available through a retailer like Macys/J C Penney. Yes, retail is dying and wedding industry more so, but that’s particular to what’s available for consumers as well. Suiting is turned from off the rack into iconic by proper tailoring, but let me tell you from working all sides of the bridal salon, even up-scale clothing lines are getting rude as hell about quality and assembly to prevent tailoring and longevity.
This kid’s Disney charm would be perfect for introducing a plus size, inclusive line of fashion-forward pieces which include, say a QR code video about taking your own measurements, how adjustments work, with pieces designed to be sleek, with enough allowance for tailoring, and minding the lines in the garment to make the adjustments for plus size bodies easier. It’s no more adjustments than are made on straight size bodies, it’s just straight size bodies have more options to find a line which works with their natural shape.
But in my experience, it’s gender non-conforming folks and plus sized folks who get pushed out of finding pieces they can actually use for celebrations or work, much less pieces with actual personality that spark joy. This man has been killing it for years, really getting some clutch looks for events and invites in the fashion world. He’s showing proof of concept every time he steps in front of a camera.
Watching Harvey’s fashion evolution, I trust his fashion team and judgement to create a mid/high line for workwear to events suiting embracing a gender nonconforming audience. I can’t think of anyone better situated to become the ambassador of a brand with *the* formal wear for queer events and special occasions. I was tickled to see he sells his own merch and hope this experience convinces him of the joy working with artists and connecting their visions to a wanting public, dipping toes into the new ethical, sustainable trends in fashion. His looks alone shows he’s done his homework over the years about timelessness and early adopting trends.
For the years I worked selling/tailoring wedding dresses, there was the prophetic ‘someday… along will come the man who revives men’s fashion for events again’ to save the David’s bridal/men’s wear house lines who keep dropping plus sizes like mine and dying off. As the pet butch in the bridal salon I pleaded to the sky for better suiting options. Add that to my butch lezzy ways and trans masc circle of friends I legit spent this past Friday night drunk in a bar with a seam ripper adjusting jackets and darting pants in an unplanned sewing circle for a bachelorette until it was my round of karaoke. This isn’t the first time I’ve spontaneously started tailoring for the queers, I can’t keep up with the demand! Y’all we are in our twenties to mid thirties there should be better options than this that don’t require a vacation to LA/NY!!
I have ethical, sustainable fashion preferences about slipping in a retailer versus an online brand. But for the vision of accessible clothing to the masses pushing the envelope of the kind of quality only vintage pieces are affording the general public, this is the only celebrity really posed with the image, high energy, and bona fides to be the face of it. His connections in the fashion game are only growing as WWDITS wraps up.
If this man opened a pop-up suiting/fashion shop I’d take my limited time and resources to really dig in to the designers he promoted. I’d be howling in the streets for my celebrants to go get a Gullién. There’s no shortage online pattern makers, but there is a shortage of queer friendly shops to really get pieces that pop and it feels safe to enjoy in a retail environment. For average people wanting to engage with fashion that affirms their identity on their special day, there’s too much fucking compromise. Honestly it’s nice that I have a side hustle sewing to pattern, but I’d give it up in a fucking heartbeat for there to be actually sustainable and approachable options. I wish there was an in between of being ‘affordable’ gnc suiting in an American mall but add plus size availability and it gets sad for your most thrifty, creative friends. Someone needs the step in the gap, and why not someone at the top of the game?
Even if it was just a pop up line every few years, I’d fucking salivate over every image in that catalogue two thousand miles away for what it can teach home sewists just by virtue of curating those artisans with the express goal of queer, fat friendly designs playing together. Just the existence of vintage shops like Proud Mary creates a boom across the inter-webs of new sewists per post. Could anyone really imagine if there were actually accessible stores in key cities/supported by an online catalog with a personable, rising star as the brand face?
Please feed us more fashion, Harvey. Keep those stylists and designer friends close. Please. I cannot stress how many mascs/nb-bebes keep dropping your name every fitting consultation across this nation and it’s for good reason.

I want the backstories to all of these weddings
I would love to read about amanda and eloise going dress shopping
Okay so the modern Bridgerton Brides backstory would have been told from the perspective of Genevieve (Ginny Delacroix) who is the Bridgertons jack of all trades wedding planner.
She's organanized all the Bridgerton weddings except Francesca's 2nd and Lucy's 1st. But she still keeps the Dress pictures in her portfolio for future reference.
And I just had this idea of Mme Delacroix just going over her best work and adding little notes on what the bride was like, how the groom proposed and whatever she thought was interesting about the dress. So the story would have been in 3rd person with a very unreliable narrator. Because Ginny Delacroix knows things but she doesn't know everything that happened.
Simon and Daphne: they supposedly were engaged for a long time, Hollywood director x Hollywood starlet kind of romance, it wasn't until Ginny was called to organize the wedding of the century in like a week, that she found out that Saphne was actually a publicity stunt and now they had to get married because Simon's investors were suspecting him of running a long con to get his hands on the movie deals he wanted and give the starring roles to Daphne. Delacroix &Co was given free reign on the budget and to this day it's been the most extravagant affair she's organized for the Bridgertons.
Anthony and Kate: bitter Buisness rivals, Anthony crossed the line by chatting up Kate's sister in a club and Kate made it her mission to block all of his major deals for the next business quarter. Nobody knows what was happening behind the scenes, Ginny always suspected they were banging because come on, those kind of flaming looks they gave each other at the Saphne wedding. But anyway flash forward a few months later, Ginny gets called in the middle of the night to plan a wedding for next week, because all the news trending on Twitter had pictures of the award ceremony in which the paparazzi caught Anthony with his hands on Kate's boobs. Ginny knows that in reality Kate's dress had a bra malfunction and Anthony's first instinct was to cover up her boobs with his hands before she could flash the whole internet. But he claims he was proposing to her in a very intimate way and is now suing the press for invasion of privacy. There was a bee involved in that whole mess, but Ginny never got the whole story. So in the end for the sake of saving face with Kate's family they got married in a wedding that was a mix of Indian rituals and British marriage traditions
Benedict and Sophie: Ginny actually gave them a discount for this one, because Sophie is her friend. Benedict apparently got injured in the racetrack one day and Sophie was hired as his live in doctor. Turns out they had history together, because she had a one night stand with him, back when Benedict was in college and then just never called him. They had some sort of whrilwind romance where Sophie refused to sleep with him, because she felt he really didn't care about her as a person and everyone in the comment section of his Instagram thought that she was holding out for a ring because he's rich. So when Benedict resigned Bridgerton industries to follow his dreams of being a painter it came as a surprise that Sophie was fully okay with being the main breadwinner while he got his feet off the ground. They had a very simple wedding on the beach and Sophie refused to let Anthony fund any of it. Benedict too, paid out of his own earnings, not his family money. And yes, she was indeed waiting to be cleared from charges after a wrongful arrest when Benedict proposed. Nobody has let him live it down yet
Colin and Penelope: long story short Penelope and Colin used to be friends, but Pen realized she was being taken for granted and took a break from hanging out with Colin, which in turn made Colin needy and woke him up to the fact that he couldn't live without her. okay so maybe it's a little harsh to say Penelope got proposed to by a stalker, but that's because Ginny is still mad at Colin for literally tracking down Penelope's wreabouts using Ginny's Instagram posts, since back then, Ginny was in France photographing Penelope for a new ad campaign that was going to be in Delacroix &Co website. And then to add insult to injury just when Ginny thought she'd have 3 months to plan the wedding between her long time friend and the guy said friend had a crush on since forever. Violet Bridgerton calls and asks for the wedding to be ready in 3 weeks because Pen is pregnant... EXCUSE ME! Ginny knows for a fact that Penelope has an arm implant. Colin said whaaat?. Ginny's revenge was that see trough, sexy, wedding dress, the wedding planner wanted to make sure that Penelope's something blue would be Colin's balls. And Portia's outrage was only a bonus
Eloise and Phillip: Ginny really has very few details on this one, Eloise never wanted to have a wedding, never even wanted to get married. But she had to download a dating app for an investigation piece at her feminist magazine and the first guy she met was a Cambridge professor who agreed with everything she said, and they hit it off or so they claim. Ginny was under the impression that Eloise was simply taking advantage of the guy's house in central London since Phillip let her crash there on the weekends without paying for a hotel. But no it turned out that Eloise did like him and she liked his children too. Whatever happened with Phillip and the twins inspired Eloise to go more into activism that focused on domestic abusers. Honestly Eloise only agreed to get married for legal reasons (like being allowed in a hospital if they were sick) and because she felt that Phillip and the kids didn't have enough positive memories in their lives and it would be a shame to rob them of a family moment like a wedding, even a barely there wedding. No matter how much she does still think marriage is a piece of paper. One day Eloise took Amanda to the mall, showed her around the boutiques and told the kid to pick any dress she wanted her new step mom to wear. Phillip let Oliver pick his tux. Everything was off the rack and barely cost much, the rest of the Bridgertons ended up meeting Phillip and the twins the weekend before the wedding. When Eloise remembered to contact Ginny about organizing a quick after-party to soothe her family's anger. She's so independent honestly forgot to tell them she was dating someone, honest. Now, everytime anyone forgets to tell her something, they remind her that she forgot to tell her them she was even getting married
Francesca and John: this wedding is the crown jewel of Ginny Delacroix wedding planning work. Everything was perfect, years in the making, no shenanigans, Violet was so proud! Anthony was so proud! Ginny herself was so proud! St Paul himself would have been proud... aaaand the groom died 2 years later. Yeah not something Francesca likes to talk about
Francesca and Michael: the wedding that made Ginny Delacroix blacklist a Bridgerton! How could they do this to her. Not only did Francesca get married in Vegas wearing a dress that was basically a mini dress with a white tablecloth tied to the hips. But she married the playboy billionaire Rock Star cousin of her deceased husband. Francesca really said go big or go home, went from the cute, interior designer wife of a Scottish lawyer to the ball busting manager wife of a Rock Star. Ginny knows there's a story there! She just knows Michael did some sort of voodoo on Francesca during that trip to Vegas. But she's never managed to pin them down long enough to confirm her theories
Lucy and Ricky: the slimy stingy toad of a man that is Lucy's uncle, planned that wedding, and it shows because it was ugly as hell. Gregory conned Ginny into attending as his plus one and you could tell Don Abernathy was embezzling his niece money by the cheap way the wedding was set up. Ricky Haselby had more chemistry with his groomsman and at one point when the cops showed up to arrest Lucy's uncle and Rick's father, the bride actually took a knife from the buffet table and slashed her dress to make it shorter and run for her life. Good for her! Good for her!!
Gregory and Lucy: Beautiful mess, Ginny pulled every string she could to give them a wedding worth talking about within days of Gregory's dramatic kidnapping proposal. Good for her for wearing pants too! How it happened? Ginny Delacroix doesn't have details either. Something something about Lucy being Gregory's wingman with Hermione and ending up seduced herself. Ginny doesn't care, what she cares about is that Lucy's uncle went to jail ! That was incredible entertainment! Also, she totally gave Haselby and his groomsman her card when Gregory and Lucy were having their first dance
Hyacinth and Gareth: The official story is that Hyacinth and Gareth met as children in his grandmothers Academy and then as adults they reconnected and he proposed in a very normal way, with a flash mob and a boom box, you know, if Hyacinth broadcasting her entire relationship in TikTok is considered normal. I think Hyacinth got so much sponsorship deals just to turn her wedding into a event for her followers that it didn't even matter that Gareth was indeed pretty much flat broke at the time because his father disowned him for chosing Hyacinth over the St Clair fortune and demanded he breakup with her. He proposed instead. She wanted to elope but her mom wanted her to have a nice wedding and so did grandma Danbury so Hyacinth did the next best thing and turn her wedding into profit 🤩🤩🤩. Ginny was impressed by how many internet strangers were sending Hyacinth and Gareth money to film her wedding after she told all her followers that her wedding was going to be a private affair. Well joke is on St Clair senior because the bank Hyacinth's TikToks made with Gareth, actually covered all of the wedding expenses. And After that they just decided to become full time content creators. Last Ginny heard of Hyacinth and Gareth they had a great TikTok and YouTube variety channel
And that's more or less the backstory of this au

For MCU asks, favorite thing you have learned from your WWII fic research so far?
In terms of "sheer WTF but basically harmless," the fact that the American jewelry industry basically invented (American) men's wedding rings and by extension the double-ring ceremony in weddings during the war. Prior to the 1940s most married men did not wear wedding bands (there was an attempt by the industry to popularize men's wedding rings in the 1920s, but it didn't really take off), but after the end of the Depression and during the war the jewelry industry managed to invent the "tradition" of the double ring ceremony. Advertisements from the 1940s focus on soldier's wedding rings as a way to keep the ring from being too "feminized," as well as being a reminder of home, a symbol of hope that deployed men will return from the war, and a commitment to their brides.
I found this out after I wrote the wedding ring scene in Home 1, but fortunately by 1945 it was common for married GIs to wear rings, so it's not an anachronism. Occasionally men's wedding rings from MIA soldiers still turn up in Europe and the Pacific, I found a bunch of news articles about that when I started looking; most of the rest of what I found was jeweler and wedding blogs talking about how men's wedding rings took off during WWII because soldiers wanted to show their commitment to their wives. Which, yes -- but only because the jewelry industry WANTED them too, men's rings don't spontaneously generate.
[advertisement from January 1944 issue of The Jeweler' Circular-Keystone, from J.R. Wood & Sons, Inc, the premier wedding band manufacturer in the U.S. the picture shows a GI looking at his wedding ring, with his rifle slung over his shoulder.
text: MEN IN THE ARMED SERVICES MOST IMPORTANT POST-WAR INFLUENCE: When you make your Post-War Plans, consider the more than 100,000,000 men in the Armed Services. They are the best-dressed, best-fed, best-educated group of men in the country. And, after the War, they will be the most important influence in this country at Peace. A far smaller group of men, in the First World War, came back to revolutionize markets and buying. Cigarettes, quick smoke in the trenches, became the smoking habit of the nation. The wrist-watch, born of war-time practicality, became the peace-time time-piece. In this war, too, influences are daily at work, which will leave their impact on the era to come.
[sidebar: Helpful Hint on Post-War Planning] One trend that is sharply evident today and limited only by the restrictions of war-time manufacture is the service man's interest in the companion wedding ring. The double-ring ceremony has caught on -- and will undoubtedly be one of the generally accepted practices of tomorrow. Plan now to dramatize this trend!
No one can predict exactly what the Post-War World will bring. But the influences which will guide those years ahead are clear to see -- and heed!]

Top Pakistani Kurta Set Trends to Watch This Season
Pakistani kurta sets have always been a symbol of elegance and tradition. This season, the trends are shifting towards more contemporary styles while retaining their cultural roots. Pyoor, a brand known for its high-quality Pakistani kurta set for women, is at the forefront of these trends. Whether you’re looking for something vibrant or minimalist, there’s a trend for everyone. Let’s explore the top Pakistani kurta set trends you should watch this season.
Vibrant Color Palettes
Color plays a crucial role in fashion, and this season, vibrant hues are making a strong statement. Bright, bold colors such as mustard, fuchsia, and royal blue are dominating the market. These shades are perfect for making a striking impression, whether you’re attending a wedding or a casual get-together. Pyoor’s Solid Yellow Kurta Set is a perfect example of this trend, combining a bright hue with a simple yet elegant design.
Incorporating vibrant colors into your wardrobe doesn’t have to be overwhelming. Start by pairing a brightly colored kurta with neutral bottoms. For instance, a mustard kurta with white trousers can create a balanced yet eye-catching look. Moreover, vibrant colors are not just for special occasions; they can easily be adapted for everyday wear. Cotton suit sets in bright shades can add a pop of color to your daily attire without being too bold.
Intricate Embroidery and Detailing
Another trend that is making a comeback this season is intricate embroidery. Embroidery has always been a significant part of Pakistani fashion, and this season, it’s all about detailed work. From floral patterns to geometric designs, embroidery adds a layer of sophistication to any Pakistani kurta set. The Heer Set by Pyoor is an excellent example, featuring delicate embroidery that enhances its overall appeal.
When styling embroidered kurta sets, balance is essential. A heavily embroidered kurta pairs beautifully with plain bottoms, letting the intricate details shine. If you lean towards a more understated look, choose kurta sets with minimal embroidery to enjoy the trend without going overboard. Embroidery isn’t just for formal occasions either. You’ll find plenty of casual embroidered kurta sets online, including at Pyoor, that are perfect for daily wear.
Contemporary Silhouettes
Fashion is always changing, and kurta set silhouettes are no exception. This season, modern cuts are taking the spotlight, combining traditional styles with fresh, contemporary elements. Think of asymmetric hemlines, flared sleeves, and A-line cuts—these are just a few ways kurta sets are being reimagined. Pyoor’s collection includes a variety of these updated silhouettes, blending both classic and modern vibes.
These contemporary designs are versatile, fitting any occasion. An A-line kurta is great for a casual day out, while an asymmetrical hemline kurta can be dressed up for a formal event. But it’s not just about looking good—these cuts are also designed for comfort and easy movement, making them perfect for long days. By adding these modern silhouettes to your wardrobe, you can enjoy the latest trends while still embracing the timeless appeal of a traditional Pakistani kurta set.
Sustainable and Organic Fabrics
Sustainable fabrics are not only environmentally friendly but also offer several benefits for the wearer. For instance, organic cotton is softer and more breathable, making it ideal for the warmer months. Additionally, sustainable fabrics are often more durable, meaning your Pakistani kurta set will last longer. By choosing Pakistani kurta online options made from sustainable materials, you can contribute to a more eco-friendly fashion industry.
Minimalist Designs
In contrast to the vibrant colors and intricate embroidery, minimalist designs are also gaining popularity this season. Simple, clean lines and monochromatic palettes define this trend, offering a refreshing break from more elaborate styles. Minimalist kurta sets are perfect for those who prefer understated elegance. Pyoor’s collection includes a range of minimalist designs that are both timeless and refined.
Minimalist designs are versatile and can be easily dressed up or down depending on the occasion. For a casual look, pair a simple kurta with matching trousers and minimal accessories. For a more formal event, add a statement necklace or a pair of bold earrings. The beauty of minimalist designs lies in their simplicity, allowing you to make a statement without being too flashy. Moreover, minimalist kurta sets are perfect for those who prefer a more understated look but still want to stay on-trend.
How to Choose the Right Kurta Set for You
With so many trends to choose from, selecting the right kurta set can be overwhelming. Here are a few tips to help you make the right choice:
Consider Your Personal Style: Whether you prefer bold colors or minimalist designs, choose a kurta set that reflects your personal style.
Think About the Occasion: A heavily embroidered kurta set may be perfect for a wedding, while a simple cotton suit set is ideal for everyday wear.
Pay Attention to Fabric: Opt for sustainable and comfortable fabrics, especially if you plan to wear the kurta set for long periods.
Check the Fit: A well-fitted kurta set not only looks better but also feels more comfortable. Ensure that the silhouette flatters your body type.
By keeping these tips in mind, you can select a Pakistani kurta set that is both refined and suitable for your needs.
Conclusion
This season’s Pakistani kurta set trends offer something for everyone, from vibrant colors to minimalist designs. Pyoor’s collection embodies these trends, providing a wide range of options for those who want to stay ahead of the fashion curve. Whether you prefer intricate embroidery or contemporary silhouettes, there’s a Pakistani kurta set for women that will suit your taste.

Pagan Wedding Colors Cheat Sheet
In the last couple of years, there's been a move away from correspondences in the Tumblr pagan community. I mostly think that's a good thing. Correspondence lists tend to be oversimplifications and to only highlight a single trait of a given plant, crystal, color, or whatever -- and yes, you tend to lose a lot of nuance when you do that. I think, in general, encouraging people to engage with their spiritual tools and allies as complex, multi-faceted entities is a good thing.
HOWEVER, correspondence lists can be very useful as starting points for further research. A quick, simple summary of an item's use in a certain context can give readers an idea of whether that item is worth looking into further. It can also help limit research options to something more manageable for those of us that are easily prone to choice paralysis. (Hello, fellow neurodivergent pagans!)
With all of this in mind, here is my quick and dirty "cheat sheet" for pagan wedding color symbolism, correspondences, and spiritual associations. I hope this will help other pagan brides, grooms, and spouses-to-be as they design their wedding celebrations, and as always I encourage you to use this post as a jumping off point for further research and reflection.
A Quick Note About Meaning
Not everything you include in your wedding needs to have a spiritual meaning attached to it. You can include things purely because you like them or think they're cool. If you want to get married in a black dress because you think black wedding dresses look badass, that's all the reason you need -- you don't have to know the associations of the color black in different pagan traditions. Your wedding choices can be exactly as deep and symbolic as you want them to be.
Color Symbolism
White is the traditional color for weddings in Western culture. And if that tradition is meaningful to you, by all means, include white in your wedding clothes and decorations! Most pagan faiths include some form of ancestor worship, and for many of us, the last several generations of our ancestors have had white weddings. Getting married in the same color dress (or tux, or other outfit) as your parents and grandparents can be very meaningful on its own. If you choose to get married in white to honor your ancestors and your culture, that's a perfectly wonderful option.
White as "the wedding color" goes back at least to the Roman Republic. Historian Karen K. Hersch says that Roman grooms wore all white and that while brides wore a white tunic. We don't know exactly what symbolism the color white had to Romans, but it may have represented purity or new beginnings.
Outside of Rome, white was actually uncommon as a color for wedding clothes until very recently. In medieval Europe, brides dressed in a variety of colors chosen based on personal preference. White didn't become popular until 1840, when Queen Victoria married Prince Albert in a white dress trimmed with lots of white lace. This wasn't actually meant as a fashion statement -- supposedly, the queen chose the dress she did to help out the English lace industry, which was struggling at the time. Fashionable brides rushed to copy the royal couple, and the rest is history. Associations with virginity didn't come until after white wedding dresses became popular.
If you want to choose your wedding colors based on modern color associations, white is associated with purity, cleansing, new beginnings, healing, and spiritual growth. In some traditions, it is also associated with the full moon. In Wicca, white is associated with the Goddess.
Black is believed by many modern Westerners to be bad luck at weddings, mainly because it's the main color we associate with death and funerals. It's considered rude to wear black to someone else's wedding. Even so, black wedding dresses have become a trend in the last few years as a bold, slightly edgy fashion statement.
Black wedding clothes date back to the Zhou Dynasty in China, where couples wore black to avoid violating clothing taboos related to gender and social class. In 17th century Spain, Catholic women got married in black silk dresses as a sign that they were committed to their husbands until death. Goth couples have been getting married in black for decades as a way of rejecting traditional values.
Black's modern associations are protection, truth, night, outer space, banishing, and transition. Wiccan author Scott Cuningham says that black symbolizes "the ultimate source of divine energy," and in some Feri traditions it is associated with Star Goddess.
Red is the color I chose to get married in, and it's one of the most popular wedding colors across the globe. Red is the color of choice for wedding clothing in India and China. In China, red is the luckiest color and wearing it brings good fortune, especially when beginning something new.
Red may also have been one of the colors of choice for Roman weddings. Scholars are not sure what color the flammeum (bridal veil) was, but in at least one source it is described as sanguineum (blood red). Statius describes Juno, the goddess of women and marriage, giving a couple "sacred bonds" that were colored white and red. To Romans, red may have symbolized future generations, the mixing of "bloodlines," and/or the hearth of the couple's new home.
Red also played a role in some Ancient Hellenic (Greek) weddings. Athenian brides wore veils of yellow (see below) or red, which represented fire. Some sources describe the flame-colored veils scaring away evil spirits that might interfere with the couple's marriage.
While Norse culture didn't have a dedicated "wedding color," we know that red was a popular dye color for Norse women's clothes. Many Norse brides probably got married in red, and red would be a historically accurate choice for a modern Heathen wedding.
Red's modern associations are protection, the fire element, sex, romance, power, vitality, fertility, passion, courage, and good health. Scott Cunningham associates both red and orange with the God in his solar aspect.
Yellow may not be as popular with modern brides, but it has a long historic association with weddings. As previously mentioned, ancient Athenian brides wore a yellow or red veil on their wedding day, which represented fire and scared away evil spirits.
Yellow veils also played an important part in weddings in the Roman Republic. The flammeum, the bridal veil, was the single most important article of clothing in a Roman wedding -- in fact, the Roman word for weddings, nuptiae, is connected to the act of veiling. While some sources describe the flammeum as blood red (see above), there is actually even more evidence for orange-yellow veils. Pliny the Elder compared the color of a bride's veil to egg yolk. In cases where brides wore yellow veils, it was probably meant to protect them from evil spirits.
Yellow may also have been a popular color in pre-Christian Irish weddings. Although there doesn't seem to have been a standard "wedding color" in Ireland, yellow was associated with blessings, good fortune, and protection, which would have made it an obvious choice for weddings. We know that yellow was one of the most popular colors for clothing in medieval Ireland, with sources describing clothes as "saffron." Yellow clothing was so closely tied to Irish identity that it was actually banned under British occupation!
Yellow's modern associations are success, inspiration, communication, mental clarity, divination, the element of air, charm, confidence, joy, and harmony. Gold has similar associations to yellow.
Blue is a beautiful color for weddings, and used to be much more common. In medieval Europe, blue was one of the most popular colors for wedding dresses because of its association with the Virgin Mary. By wearing Mary's color at their weddings, brides emphasized their purity, virginity, and piety.
Blue's modern associations are healing, stillness, peace, the water element, psychic abilities, truth, patience, understanding, devotion, wisdom, and the ocean. Scott Cunningham associates blue with the Goddess in her watery aspect.
Purple may have been one of the colors of choice for Hellenic weddings. Achilles Tatius describes a bride wearing a purple dress in his romance Leucippe and Clitophon. In the Roman Republic, purple was associated with manhood, and white togas with a purple hem were a sign of a boy coming of age.
In medieval Europe, purple was a color reserved for royalty, and it was actually illegal for people who weren't royals to wear purple clothing.
Purple's modern associations are mystery, magic, divine power, spiritual awareness, sentimentality, wisdom, strength, and progress. Scott Cunningham associates purple with a deepening connection to the God and Goddess.
Silver is another color that may have been part of Hellenic weddings. In Hesiod's Theogony, Pandora is described wearing a silver dress at her wedding.
Silver's modern associations are refinement, wealth, the moon, nobility, and sophistication. In Wiccan and other neopagan communities, silver is associated with the Goddess in her lunar aspect.
Green is a popular wedding color for modern pagans, especially those who follow a nature-based path. It represents the lush fertility of the earth and is connected to fertility spirits like the Green Man.
It's important to note that green used to be considered an unlucky color for weddings, especially in Celtic cultures. This is because of the color's close connection to Fairy. Green was considered the Other Crowd's color, and wearing it could attract their attention in a negative way.
Green's modern associations are nature, plants, the earth element, money, wealth, prosperity, good luck, growth, rejuvenation, nurturing, and good health.
Pink may not have been very popular with ancient cultures (although some sources describe the Roman flammeum as a reddish-pink), but it is one of the colors most strongly associated with romantic love in modern popular culture. Pink is a soft, romantic, dreamy color, and is perfect for sweet, intimate weddings.
Pink is associated with romantic love, friendship, self love, compassion, playfulness, sweetness, emotional well-being, unity, honor, and spiritual healing.

Realtian Effect
Realtians valued individuality a lot within their history from their origins to their end. This has led to them having very drastic changes as they would become trendsetters and dominate global influence, especially as their technology advanced.
Below will detail the history that Realtian nobility made within their own nation and how it affected the general populace. It will also detail some traditions and general societal things among Realtis.
For the most part, Realtian nobility was considered to have a very busy life. There are records in almost every noble house (Except for Ninomae) of papers detailing trades and general commerce within their region.
On the outside, there was general piece, but multiple of the houses, including the royal family, did take part in the black market and some form of economy regulation there. I will most likely go into the underworld of Realtis another day as we are still researching and struggling to find out how it worked.
Realtians generally had very little wars within their long span of history and thus the noble houses would be idle. This would lead to them taking charge in creating new trends or bringing more extravagant shows to current and past trends.
Fashion
This is most evident with their fashion as they modernized their clothing very quickly while making extreme designs that took inspiration from their folk tales. Realtis would come to be known for looking the part of every other nations’ villains and would standardize dark dyes as a common ground.
The nobility would often travel to other nations and hire seamstresses and steamsters to design eccentric outfits. Realtians look to have a history of disrupting expectations especially when it comes to appearances. Androgynous fashion became especially popular within the Middle Years of the nation as cross dressing and drag shows rose in favor.
The most notable leaders in the fashion industry would be House Myv and House Opilant. Both houses worked in the textile industry and thus would create the fabrics that would be used to set the new standards within fashion.
Technology
For the most part, House Calvert were in charge of technological advancements with the purpose of keeping the nation’s capabilities as magical prowess decreased over time.
At the beginning the the Fernan era, Abel Calvert was born and would be considered a genius after being blessed by the Great Beast, Vanor. Alongside his sister, Cain, they would use their capabilities to make greater strides such as teleportation and communication devices.
This, in turn, would be given to those who could afford such items and create an increase in trade and relations with foreign nations as it became easier to travel and communicate with distant nations.
The nobility would use these items to host elaborate parties within a much shorter amount of time. With trade among the houses becoming easier, the economy began to blossom one more and spread to their outer influence on other nations.
Traditions
For major holidays that were celebrated by the whole nation, the Royal Palace would be in charge and host the numerous festivals. These festivals often included traditional dancing and games.
There were also many different regional holidays as certain areas had more contact with other nations and immigrants. Noble Houses within these areas would be in charge of hosting celebrations for the common folk.
(Holidays will be detailed later on.)
Instead of medals or physical rewards, titles would often be handed out to those of noble nature and achievement. One such example would be weddings where the two to be wedded are granted the title of ‘siveränni’ or the Realtian word for ‘sovereign‘.
Honesty was also a highly valued trait among society which is ironic, given the nature of noble society. This would most often lead to nobles being very brutally honest with those outside their nation which led to immediate culture shock which I can imagine to be quite funny. Either way, it became known as a saying, ‘Always ask a Realtian before you leave the home.’
Duels would be done with the weapon of choice for the duel. For most duels, it was customary for the weapons to be the same. Casual duels would be done with one hand on the weapon while it is stabbed in the ground, while formal duels would be done with both hands.
#fantasy#fantasy history#fantasy fiction#nobility#worldbuilding#realtis#abel calvert#cain calvert#traditions#fashion#technology#celebrations#titles#This was more of a general post about some of the details we were able to gather after working with other foundations#Realtians really seem to be almost everywhere but their own nation which is interesting#perhaps this is a clue as to what happened to the end of the nation

White wedding dress tradition.
Queen Victoria married Prince Albert on the 10th of February 1840. Victorias style of choice was a white wedding dress which was quite unusual at the time however since then it had become a huge trend and tradition even now. The famous dress consisted of a heavy satin material made from fabric woven in London and was trimmed with rich hand made honiton lace paired with an 18 foot veil. Victoria incorporated lace within her dress to boost the lace industry in Devon which was imported within her dress. She chose to wear fresh orange blossom in her hair instead of a tiara and then started another tradition of carrying myrtle in her bouquet.

Cristobal Balenciaga
Cristobal Balenciaga was born in 1885 in Getaria which was a small fishing village in northern Spain. His mother was a stream stress which is how he ended up getting into fashion. He watched her and her clients which where the most fashionable and glamourous women in the village. At the age of only 12 he begin an tailoring apprenticeship in the neighbouring fashionable resort of stan Sebastian. This is where it all started for him as his first fashion house in 1917 named after a shortening of his mothers maiden name- Eisa. Balenciaga opened fashion houses in Barcelona and Madrid before moving to Paris in 1937 the fashion houses (Avenue Georges V) quickly became the cities most popular, most expensive and exclusive couturier. With the apprenticeships and his mother being a seamstress this training help set him apart from the other big designers of his time. With Cristóbal Balenciaga the design process for him started with the fabric not the sketch “it’s the fabric that decides” he stated, showing he could manipulate the materials to show there very best effect. Balenciaga knew the craft inside out and was adept at every stage of the making process. Balenciaga's Spanish heritage influenced a lot of the iconic designs. The wide hipped ‘infanta’ dress from his 1930s collection drew inspiration from the 17th century Spanish artist Diego Velázquez. In the later phase of his career, in the 1950s Balenciaga was pioneering with new shapes never seen before in the women's fashion industry. The radical designs developed season by season as he redefined and reworked at the looks created his style and a name for himself and his fashion house. In 1957 he shocked the fashion world with the introduction of the 'sack dress', a straight up and down shift dress which completely eliminated the waist. At a time when Christian Dior's hour-glass shaped New Look was still dominant, the 'sack' was initially met with hostility from both clients and press. "It's hard to be sexy in a sack!" cried the Daily Mirror. Like many of Balenciaga's most radical designs, this look eventually filtered into the mainstream. The sack dress was the forerunner of the ubiquitous mini-dress of the 1960s and remains a fashion staple today. He then retired and past on the fashion house, however Balenciaga came out of retirement in 1972 to create the wedding dress of Spanish aristocrat and socialite María del Carmen Martínez-Bordiú , he sadly passed two weeks after this.

youtube
Product- Balenciaga has had many collection over the year all by different designers but all the product and innovative designs and one on there own, they have women and menswear, something for everyone with each collection they bring out. The brand has ready to wear items, leather goods, shoes, bags and apparel for men and women
Price- Balenciaga's is a brand based on luxury items meaning their prices are very expensive so there have a small group in their target market and very few people can afford to pay the extreme amount of money for just one items.
Place- Balenciaga sell they product online and in store however their main source for purchasing their items is probably online as everyone can access this and is the most relevant way to buy anything now and will be for a long period of time. The items in store are very limited as not a lot of store carry items like these as such as luxurious at Balenciaga's products.
Promotion- Balenciaga advertise in big cities such as Mumbai, New Delhi and Chandigarh just a few examples, they do a lot of celebrity marketing this is such a clever idea to promote a brand as when people see big celebrities wearing the brand, they immediately want to own that, Balenciaga did this with Kim Kardashian she wore a lot of Balenciaga recently which was such a smart idea as Kim is so relevant and on trend now. They also use a lot of social media which is probably the most relevant way of promoting these day as everyoneis using social media and doing campaigns on social media you know everyone will be seeing this and if people are liking and sharing this they can use this of a way of feedback for the company.
youtube
Nicolas Ghesquiere took a freelance job that took him to Balenciaga in 1995, when the Balenciaga creative director Josephus Thimister however he was fired two year later, and Nicolas tapped in and it was the start of his 15-year run at Balenciaga. Nicolas reportedly doubled the income of Balenciaga's sale when arriving. Whilst at Balenciaga he delivered us the 1980s inspired fashion and the iconic lariat handbag, he went on to expand the number of collection for Balenciaga and continued to produce innovative design such as the short gladiator style skirt and the toga dresses, knee high gladiator sandals and so much more like collections inspired by some of Balenciaga's original designs.
youtube
Balenciaga’s target audience is men and women who live a luxury lifestyle and prefer a different side of sophisticated, however now the time and generation has changed the new target audience is the new generation of fashion enthusiasts. All the customers that buy Balenciaga's products are aware of the trends in fashion and the fashion world of this generation. The target market for Balenciaga is a very wealthy group of people due to the high prices of all the products and especially if they are buying straight of the runway and the ready to wear collection.
Spring 2016 ready to wear runway is my favorite collection. The collection was designed by Alexander Wang just before he left. His final runway called swan song was said to be the freest collection he did for the house. All this collections was made entirely from shade of ivory, all in soft natural fabrics like linen cotton. All the designs looked effortless . The work for this collection started after the announcement that Wang would not be renewing his contract to the Balenciaga fashion house. His las collection was his best collection, some people believe this was because he let his guard down due to it being his last and wanting to focus on creating a signature label of his own. Although the vibes around this collection is very relaxed a lot of smocking, ruching and ladder stitching went into creating this collection while remaining light. I think the entire collection is so beautiful and elegant with also a bit of edge thrown into the mix which make it so interesting and caught my attention when looking through all the collection of Balenciaga throughout the year, this is with out a doubt my favorite, due to the effortlessly pretty vibes it has and all the shapes within the collection.

Black Meteorite Rings: Why They're a Must-Have in 2025
As we move towards 2025, fashion trends are changing, and one accessory that's gaining popularity is the black meteorite ring. These unique rings combine a cosmic vibe with modern style, making them a must-have for anyone wanting to stand out.
In this blog, you will get an idea of why black meteorite rings are expected to be a top trend in accessories.
Importance of Black Meteorite Rings
Cosmic Connection
Black meteorite rings have a special link to the universe. They are made from pieces of space rocks that have been traveling for millions of years. These rings aren’t just a pretty accessory, they tell a story.
Each one reminds us of how big the universe is, adding a unique touch to everyday outfits. As people look for items with deeper meanings, black meteorite rings let wearers carry a little piece of the cosmos with them.
Unique Aesthetics
One of the best reasons to get a black meteorite ring is its unique look. Each ring is one-of-a-kind. The dark, textured surface, often featuring subtle sparkles, stands out against traditional metals like gold or silver.
This uniqueness is perfect for people who want to make a statement, making these rings a great choice for those who love fashion.
Sustainable Fashion
In recent years, the fashion industry has moved towards sustainability. People are more aware of what they buy and prefer eco-friendly materials. Black meteorite rings are a great fit for this trend. Since meteorite material comes from space, it doesn’t harm the environment. By choosing a men's meteorite ring, you not only add a unique piece to your collection but also support sustainability.
Versatile Style
Black meteorite rings are versatile, making them great for different occasions. Whether you’re getting dressed up for a formal event or keeping it casual with friends, these rings go well with many outfits.
Their dark colors can work with bright and vintage styles, fitting easily into any wardrobe. As fashion becomes more flexible, anyone can wear black meteorite rings no matter their gender or style.
Symbol of Strength and Resilience
Throughout history, meteorites have represented strength, resilience, and change. Their journey from space to Earth shows survival against challenges. Wearing a black meteorite ring can remind you of your strength and ability to overcome difficulties.
In 2025 this meaning can be even more powerful, making these rings not just a fashion choice but also a symbol of personal empowerment.
Customization and Personalization
Another trend in 2025 is the growing desire for personalized and custom jewelry. Black meteorite rings are perfect for customization. Jewelers can add unique designs, engravings, or even extra gemstones to make a unique piece.
This lets wearers show their identity and creativity, making the ring even more meaningful. Whether as a gift or a special treat for yourself, a customized black meteorite ring becomes a treasured keepsake.
Affordable and Accessible
Meteorite rings are easy to find. As the market for unique materials grows, prices have become more competitive, making black meteorite rings a good option for more people.
With different styles and price ranges available, anyone can find these rings that suit their budget and taste. This accessibility is part of why they are becoming more popular and makes them a smart choice for fashion lovers looking to enhance their accessory collection.
