honestly, we weren't sure how we were going to feel if Sancho decided to be Don Quixote again while waiting for part 3. but we think it was handled really well. because it's less that she "became" Don again, and more that she has reconciled the cynic and idealist in her. Don is less of a separate person, and more of an idea now. the idea that sometimes, in this dark and dreary world, you need a little bit of juvenile excitement. a bit of wonder. sometimes you just need to give a shit about things that nobody else will. and bring just a little good energy to the situation. she's still Don Quixote, but she's not not Sancho. the sinners all coming together and saying how much they truly cared for Don, despite not doing such a great job of that before, Dante realizing that they don't have to offer her a dream, moreso just a reason to keep going, the fact that Sancho and La Manchaland's Don Quixote, despite ending their last meeting ending in a fight, still held genuine love and respect for each other. because they were family, and they did care at the end of it all. the realization Don Quixote at the end of his long painful life that Sancho, essentially his daughter, has people who care about her, and it has molded her into someone better than her instincts as a bloodfiend, an ideal he held for so long. the canto is about love, we think. and how love can, against all odds, change someone for the better. at least, that's our view of it.

was Brooklynn moving her foot toward's Darius's unconsciously? Did she catch herself? Was that just where her foot was before and then she pulled it back awkwardly because she was uncomfortable? Was this shot necessary? Did we need to see her pulling her foot back if it was just discomfort? What's the language here? What's the message? It's when she says she doesn't know if she's ready. Was she yearning? Has she been yearning? Did she not realize it? Why did this shot make it in? She moves her leg. She moves her foot.

Okay, so, this image has a story in my life now. I got Tumblr on Monday. I've been super stoked because it's all new and exciting. I really like Tumblr, and I got it so I could talk to an author I love. However, I think my brain may be a little rotted.

This morning, minutes before I had to leave for work, my roommate says that she had trouble sleeping. I say that I'm sorry. Then, she proceeds to ask me, "Do you remember waking up at two this morning?"

"No, I don't," I reply.

"You woke up and said 'Don't reblog my post.' Like, sat bolt upright and said 'Don't reblog my post,'" she explains.

Haha, that's so funny, maybe I should spend less time on Tumblr today, I think. I know I have vivid dreams, so I assume that she meant I was sleep talking. (Spoiler: I was half-conscious, but not asleep)

"You also said that you had a nightmare that Jeff the Shark hit you with his tail. You were deeply upset about it," she adds. "We had a whole conversation!"

That's weird. I don't play Marvel Rivals all that much.

Then, the realization hits me. I saw half a dozen Jeff the Land Shark posts yesterday. This is the one I showed my roommate. I start giggling, because it's so fucking absurd of a nightmare - that I don't remember, by the way - that there's no way this is real.

"Yeah, you said it was very scary," my roommate tells me between our giggles.

"There's no fucking way!" I laugh.

"And you just kept talking about how I can't reblog it!" says my roommate.

So, there's my crazy story about waking up (apparently) in the middle of the night after a nightmare about this cute puppy shark.

Not that I really want to entertain the notion of Sammy and Yaz having broken up (yes, it's a Jurassic staple, but), but if they have, I think I know the reason:

Look behind Sammy.

That could be a big, fake, plastic Stegosaurus for a carnival ride or something...or Sammy could be working with the DPG and/or the Dino Trackers. It's possible that her family turned the ranch into a dinosaur refuge--working with park services and the government in order to protect dinosaurs.

Including carnivores.

That means that Sammy's ranch is, 24/7, a place with dinosaurs.

While we did see Yaz getting along just fine with a lot of dinosaurs on Mantah Corp island, it's possible that it needled her a bit too much. She might not have been comfortable with spending all of her time in DInosaur Land, after several years free of the scary beasts. It could have brought up old traumas and fears. A twinge in her leg every time she sees one. Knowing the Mosasaur is loose makes her hesitate to go into water. That sort of thing.

Sammy, of course, is a good heart and wants to help her family, farm, and dinosaurs. So it's quite possible that she felt like she had to stick around, and Yaz went elsewhere to keep studying psychology or physical therapy or whatever it was she was getting into.

Not necessarily a bad breakup or anything, just something where "Our current careers are not compatible at this specific point in time."

Still, hopefully they'll finally get some closure, figure out who they are entirely, and reignite that little teenage fling they had from a few years ago.
