Helpless
Waterwalker is one of the deities that share territory with the three clans. She usually avoids interacting with living cats but when she finds a familiar drowning apprentice has fallen into the river all she can do from her side of the water is call for help and try to push her head above the current when she can. Meanwhile starclan sends a message to Bromeclan’s medicine cat to check the river for a strange arrival. Will Hornetpaw survive?
Waterwalker is one of the weakest deities bc she can only walk on the underside of the water. Her body is mostly liquid and incorporeal, it’s hard for her to solidify herself enough to push against the surface, as it would be like pushing against solid ground. She can cause rain but it leaves her drained and watery. Long ago she was a bright and talented medicine cat blessed by starclan. The power of the blessing and her memory caused her to become a deity instead of a starclan cat.

running some redoran quests
#p#vvardenfell wandering#look sometimes a headhunter finds you and in your underpowered despair all you can do is cast waterwalking and employ guerilla warfare#i refuse to minmax and i pay for it dsfjfdsjfsd#no but the trip to dagon fel was a dud i just went there to locate a pirate but then realized i need 2k to pay a guy??#or find a way to get to the ruin myself#but the quest is recommended for level 15 or more and my lv 1 ass wasn't going to do that#nammu is currently running redoran quests + doing the pilgrimage of the seven graces which to this day i think is one of the best first#*faction quests i've seen in all of tes. need more quests that encourage you to travel and learn about the culture of the place#like you visit the shrines. you learn about a lil piece of history#mostly here's a lil episode of vivec's whacky adventures#and you're invited to give an offering that relates to what happened there#like i'm not about the tribunal at all (i love their lore and think they're rly well crafter characters) but i think their quests are neat

man. i was not at all looking forward to the saurian mechanics in natlan, and i've been proved correct for the most part -- the ground saurians feel like such a downgrade from the travel mechanics we've seen in the past [we all at this point have gotten used to climbing things with character skills, also kachina is free + the sumeru and chenyu vale exploration was a lot smoother]
HOWEVER. i do love the koholasaurs way more than expected. perhaps, dare i say it, even more than the waverider. they blend fun and function way better than the other two. they are so shaped. little creatures. i can do a flip
#personal stuff#thorn plays genshin#do i like them because they have a sprint mechanic and the others don't...........perhaps.#but also have you considered i can do a little flip in the water.#but for real it's bc apart from fontaine's diving. large patches of water have felt like an obstacle and a chore#i can only freeze water / waterwalk with furina for so long before i get bored of having nothing to do#and try to find whatever puzzle i missed that makes going between islands easier. yknow#and i love my little boat but l + steering + the little stamina bar kills me#meanwhile i can swim as these guys all day long#i'm living vicariously through them. scratching that summer itch of Being In The Water. it's lovely#and i actually do enjoy walking around on land with them. more than the actual land saurians. bc of aforementioned sprint mechanic#i'm not slow as hell for no reason!! [crowd cheers]#my only complaint is that i can't hang out with other saurians while in saurian form. they all bark at me :(#i don't want to fight i just want to chill and do flips with you.......#all that said. i am looking forward to the anemo saurians if we do in fact get to use them too#would loooove to be able to just fly around with no restraints. the dream.

Wyndham Hotels & Resorts dives headfirst into the upscale extended stay market through a strategic partnership with industry innovator WaterWalk. This move expands Wyndham's already robust portfolio, adding 11 hotels and over 1,500 rooms under the newly minted WaterWalk Extended Stay by Wyndham brand. As Wyndham's 25th brand, WaterWalk complements its existing economy and midscale extended stay offerings, catering to guests seeking a home-like atmosphere with a touch of luxury. Wyndham Makes a Splash Capitalizing on Soaring Demand The extended stay segment has witnessed a surge in guest demand in recent years. Wyndham acknowledges this trend, recognizing the potential in the market. Chip Ohlsson, Chief Development Officer at Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, emphasizes this by stating, "Our vision is to offer the industry's most robust portfolio of extended stay brands. The addition of WaterWalk marks an important step in that direction, ensuring we have an offering in every segment for every owner and guest." WaterWalk: A Legacy of Innovation Founded by the visionary Jack DeBoer, a pioneer in the extended-stay segment, WaterWalk embodies a legacy of innovation. DeBoer's fingerprints are on some of the industry's most recognizable brands, including Residence Inn and Candlewood Suites. Leveraging his extensive experience, DeBoer established WaterWalk in 2014, aiming to redefine the extended stay experience. Today, his granddaughter, Mimi Oliver, CEO of WaterWalk, carries forward his entrepreneurial spirit and commitment to guest satisfaction. LIVE|STAY: A Flexible Approach to Extended Stays WaterWalk distinguishes itself with its unique LIVE|STAY model. This innovative approach caters to diverse guest preferences. STAY units come fully furnished, ideal for guests seeking a traditional, residential-style extended stay. For those who prefer to personalize their space, unfurnished LIVE units offer the flexibility to create a long-term haven that feels like home. This adaptability is a strategic strength, allowing WaterWalk properties to adjust to market fluctuations and guest needs, ultimately benefiting owners, operators, and guests alike. WaterWalk's current portfolio boasts 11 hotels across the U.S. Newer properties showcase the brand's Gen 2.0 prototype, which prioritizes efficient design and reduced operating costs, maximizing profits and returns for owners. Mimi Oliver on Joining the Wyndham Family "WaterWalk's success is built on decades of extended-stay expertise combined with a relentless pursuit of innovation and exceptional guest experiences," says Mimi Oliver, CEO of WaterWalk. "We believe WaterWalk is our best brand yet, and by joining the Wyndham portfolio, we enter a new chapter of growth and efficiency. The Wyndham Advantage will be a significant asset, propelling us towards enhanced performance." A Portfolio Primed for Growth With the addition of WaterWalk, Wyndham now boasts a powerful trio of extended stay brands: WaterWalk Extended Stay by Wyndham, ECHO SuitesSM Extended Stay by Wyndham, and Hawthorn® Extended Stay by Wyndham. Launched in 2022, ECHO Suites has a flourishing development pipeline with over 265 economy new construction hotels, several nearing completion. Hawthorn experienced a 30% surge in its midscale conversion and new construction development pipeline in 2023. Collectively, these three brands cater to a wide range of extended-stay guests, from construction workers on temporary assignments to digital nomads seeking a work-life blend while traveling. Furthermore, WaterWalk's inclusion strengthens Wyndham's position to capitalize on the estimated $3.3 billion opportunity in additional room revenue generated by infrastructure spending in the U.S. Wyndham Advantage: Unlocking Growth Potential By joining Wyndham, WaterWalk hotels gain access to the "Wyndham Advantage" – a comprehensive suite of resources that includes world-class marketing, distribution channels, and the backing of the world's largest hotel franchisor. Over the past five years, Wyndham has invested substantially in innovative technologies to streamline operations and boost owner profitability. These solutions include next-generation property and revenue management systems, mobile check-in and checkout options, and automated OTA reconciliation – just to name a few. Additionally, owners benefit from Wyndham Rewards, the world's leading hotel loyalty program, boasting over 106 million enrolled members globally. Nearly half of all U.S. check-ins at Wyndham properties are attributed to Wyndham Rewards members, highlighting the program's effectiveness in driving guest traffic.

Gotta make a post about my best DunMeshi neurospicy boi
Lotta content out there about Laios' autistic traits but where o where is the Senshi rep?
Senshi's dedication to Dungeon trophic systems makes Laios' special interest look like a well-thumbed pamphlet. (Granted Senshi has had significantly longer to cook; Laios is a baby).
Senshi's limited emoting is baked-in to his character model- that thousand yard stare, most of his face occluded by his habitual helmet (masked, even...... How many folks pine for covid masks obviating the need to manage their faces constantly?)
He overheard someone mention his special interest and Walked Right Up to a Group of Strangers to brazenly asplain them a thing. Marcille makes a bridge-mending bid regarding the mosses in the scorpion hotpot (after her previous truculent outbursts) and he totally deadpans her, because he didn't even notice.
He is VERY COMMITED to his ethical position on dungeon ecology. More than once he's disrupted Marcille Right at the point of release of a spell, after she's been chanting for like a paragraph, because she's going to contravene some principle of his.
Also
Speaking of Marcille, he demonstrates some pretty rigid, black-and-white thinking around magic, that doesn't seem internally consistent. He's repeatedly reanimating magical constructs (golems), an explicitly controlled magical act, but is Very Very reluctant to submit to being charmed with WaterWalk; his spoken reasoning about this just doesn't hold water.
Oh and he's totally neglected his personal hygiene for basically ever. He's averse to cleaning up for the sake of being bespelled, but other than magic, seems fine with getting the salon treatment. This isn't a Toph Beifong 'protective layer of earth', he's just forgotten to care about not being covered with monster gore.
PDA? The fellow has one (1) social skill, namely, he exercises any discretion on opening his mouth to argue. But that holds him back exactly NONE when he decides he's done listening. The first time we see this is gathering Mandrakes, when he doesn't SAY he's done with Marcille's opinions, but he Does just go ahead and exercise his damn autonomy. a MUCH stronger example is when Chilchuck is guiding them through the trap rooms. Senshi gets roundly (and rightly!) chewed out by Chilchuck, and his response isn't the sensible 'sorry Chilchuck, maybe I could walk more directly behind you so I can more closely match your steps', but to BRAZENLY DANCE ALL OVER THE TRAP FLOOR! the only reason that doesn't kill the whole party is The Plot. It's not even that he doesn't appreciate Chilchuck's skill- he just don't like getting chastised! Same with Anne the Kelpie! Senshi's gonna do what Senshi's gonna do! He WILL not be rushed, he WILL not be chastised, he WILL not be directed! How do we think he came to be living in a dungeon all by himself in the first place!!
AND THE BREAD!
THIS IS NOT THE DEMAND OF A NEUROTYPICAL DWARF
Look there's more. After Chilchuck's impassioned and heartfelt plea, Senshi suggests they should return to the surface because they're 'low on seasoning'.
He's a dwarf who turned his adamantium shield into a cookpot.
He can meticulously maintain his mithril cooking knife but not his axe.
He responds well to other characters meeting him halfway but initiates few (no?) such bids himself. There's rarely any guile in Senshi, and when he is being shifty, he's Bad At It- and again, usually its in service of demand avoidance, like when he capitalises on Marcille's toilet break to reanimate his golems.
Senshi is the monomaniac that society has spent Decades trying to iron out of my wrinkly brain.
I hope to see him also find a place in the neurosparkly constellations.
#why no tism love for Senshi#I'm worried it's cos he's ambiguously/fantasy POC-coded#all power to ppl seeing themselves in Laios tho#lotta brain weirdos in this show#dungeon meshi#senshi#autism#autistic senshi#neurodivergent#delicious in dungeon#endless gratitude for the giffers

I found in a chest a pair of elven boots of waterwalking I promptly gifted to Taliesin. He seems quite content of them. (plus they are black and gold, matching his outfit, and of elven manufacture)

the logistics of the waterwalk spell confuse me... what chilchuck says implies it made the whole person hydrophobic... like maybe it's a shield that wards off water.... but if that were true, you'd just sink to the bottom. you wouldn't drown but you'd probably asphyxiate... so it must also have an element of making you weightless, so you can stand on the water. a sort of levitation?...... but if that's the case, then wouldn't that be enough? you wouldn't need to also be hydrophobic....
