God I am screaming and kicking my feet THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!
Sometimes it's hard putting things into words but you said it all!!! I'm still so surprised Campwort isn't popular-- like, genuinely wtf?? Where's the old man toxic yaoi?????
I'm glad I'm not the only one insane about them they're literally my favorite pairing in the WSD 1999 series-- I need to draw more of them..
Campwort *holds up microphone* gimmie ur thoughts plz
god where do i START
They are so unwell about each other. It's just so obvious how ridiculously obsessed with each other they are. They are divorced. They are terrible for each other (affectionate) (derogatory). Their fates are irrevocably intertwined and they are sooo weird about it.
OK!! So first of all Campion holds Woundwort as the main fixture of his life and the one he lives for. Everything he does, everything he is, is for Woundwort and Efrafa. That kind of all-consuming devotion is so fucked up in such a compelling way. And even once he's on the side of the Watership gang, he still saves Woundwort TWICE despite it being very, very obvious that his death would completely end the war and solve like 90% of Watership Down's and Efrafa's problems. Like...Campion knowing rationally that Woundwort is evil and needs to be stopped but still being unable to leave him or let him be hurt…even culminating in SACRIFICING his LIFE for him??? WHILE ACTIVELY BETRAYING HIM AS WELL??? What the fuck man. Betraying Woundwort LITERALLY kills him (albeit temporarily) because he simply can't stand to abandon him entirely.
And Campion has like...no identity or self-worth beyond who he can fight and die for. As I see it, he defines and values himself solely by what he can do for others and as such can't live without wholly devoting himself to someone. In Season 3 he's out of this dynamic for a few months and he spends the entire time depressed and suicidal.
From a Watsonian perspective, I think that Campion's infatuation with Blackberry is pretty much a disaster rebound situation (even if in Doylist terms I think it was just bad writing) where he needed to latch onto someone to devote himself to as he was grieving whatever it was he had with Woundwort. I think Campion's mindset in that situation pretty much boils down to "I need someone to dedicate my life to or I'll kill myself" and Blackberry was conveniently into him.
Ok maybe that was a tangent mostly about campion. ANYWAY.
Woundwort! He trusts and relies on Campion so much, and I think Campion is the one exception to Woundwort's fear of being seen as weak or sentimental (which I'm sure he justifies by telling himself that Campion is simply his hyper-competent ultra-loyal Captain of Owsla and that's why he values him. Nothing else surely).
also "you're a rabbit after my own heart" well what's THAT supposed to mean GENERAL. Fascinating how in 1x13 he went to check on Campion when he was injured and told him that his failure didn't matter (compare to, say, how he often threatens and abuses Vervain for his failures)
He's just so blind to the possibility that Campion even could betray him! He spends so long refusing to hear a WORD against him even though Vervain was right about his betrayal the entire time! He actually apologizes to Campion after the whole arrest/torture thing in Season 2, and apologizing isn't even something he does! It's pretty much canon that Campion is the only one Woundwort has any genuine respect for.
And then in Season 3 Woundwort's having literal screaming nightmares about Campion’s betrayal and death. Like, we have our toughest evillest guy in the whole series acting this way. He fully, canonically goes completely off-the-rails bonkers as a direct result of Campion’s betrayal/apparent death. What the fuck!! In the wake of Campion's sacrifice he completely forgives his betrayal which is insane to me. He's so concerned with what Campion thinks of him he has a mental break and starts reevaluating his entire worldview (even if, ultimately, it doesn't come to anything)? Crazy
and in season 3 they're sort of fated to kill each other but they don't but they do but they don't? or am i reading into that
Anyway idk how much of season 3 you've seen so I don't want to spoil anything. but WHATTT
Also I don't think anything ever happened between them. I think it was all weird intense repressed pining. but idk i am open to anything
Ok i have no idea if you wanted this much when you sent that ask but. here it is

I don't want to step on your toes or anything so feel free to ignore me, but your WD AU has my mind all running in circles of excitement! What if Seven is from a rabbit breeding farm and the rabbits there are so depressed and without hope, that they just give their children numbers instead of names? 😭 But then of course she escapes and joins the group and gets to live free!
Tumblr media
^^^^^^^^ me getting a WD AU ask ^^^^^^^^^^
omg YES thats what i was thinking!! i was definitely set on her being a bred blanc de hotot and that she’d just be named Seven (whether by her mother or by humans) and keep it. (considering Fiver was named for being the fifth in the litter 😏)
lemme ramble my messy ideas for a sec HOLD UP-
i think the initial idea i'd had was that Seven and Doc would be lab rabbits from the "Caretaker" and when they all end up escaping, they join the party. that seems like the EASIEST way of going about it at least to me lol.
coming up with quirky yet realistic ways of getting these bunnies together is what i struggle with haha. like i figured Doc would be a human-raised lab rabbit, spoiled and pampered and Large, but maybe craves adventure (also maybe a bit of a hypochondriac). one idea i had (if Seven was a rabbit that joined them later on) was like mmmmmaybe Seven is a kit when they find her either having gotten lost or ran away,,,,, so theyd be more inclined to take her in (or Haven would at least 😏) but idk if ill go with that haha. i feel like Seven joining the "crew" is potentially more reluctant on her end than Doc would be. 🤔🤔🤔 or at least different somehow, like why would she leave what she knows, etc. i see her as being kinda moody and stuck with this group of rabbits like she is in Voyager, eventually coming around to thriving in and preferring that environment but it takes time.
in the kinda sequel WD book it establishes that rabbits who smell of humans “by law” are to be attacked and killed for some reason,,,, (idk if rabbits really act like that lol i felt like the “sequel” dramatized the rabbits a lot more) i dont mind working with this semi-canon idea a bit in that the human-smelling rabbits need to be vouched for when requesting they join their “crew” and i think Haven would 5000% go against the norm for Seven at least but maybe Doc proves himself with his unconventional (to rabbits) health practices so they keep him around.
long ramble to say I LOVE THE ASK HAHA ive been quietly curdling on the AU for a while only 'cuz i dont have everything straightened out and pretty in my head yet lol. and i was stuck on designing fur patterns for everyone but i THINK im satisfied now...... i dont have names for a few of them still. :^)

Book Recommendation: Watership Down
Watership Down by Richard Adams
How would rabbits see humanity?
Tumblr media
Hrairoo, a psychic rabbit in the English countryside, has a vision of his warren being reduced to rubble by terrible human machines. He informs his brother, and they implore their leader to evacuate, though he refuses. Together, along with a ragtag group of rabbits, they escape and begin the search for a new home.
The rabbits' values and desires for their ideal home and livelihoods are called into question. They must battle themselves over what is most dear to them: freedom and safety or comfort and luxury.
This book features an inventive mythology of one of nature's most iconic species, and an outside perspective of man's actions. It features many themes of environmentalism, while also creating an effective commentary on the interconnectedness of life and death.
This book was the origin of two animated television series of the same name.

I just wanna let you know I fuck really heavy with the animated Watership Down. And I have waited years since I was a child to have something similar for warriors. I would scream if it happened 🥲 if this ever happens. I would 10/10 voice audition
I constantly think about the Redwall animated series (1999) and Watership animated series (1999)
When I re-watch those I wonder what Warrior Cats would've been like if they had an animated series in that similar style and vain. How much would actually changed?
Watership Down the series added a lot of newer conflicts, characters, pretty much this series exclusive things and their own twists to the story. Follows the story in the beginning and then it gets wild!
I should make a retrospective on these two series.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Redwall animated series pretty much follows the story where season 1 follows Matthias, Season 2 follows Mattimeo, and Season 3 follows Martin the Warrior.
But I was an idiot and I watched the series backwards from Martin, to Matthias, to Mattimeo. Still got the same enjoyment either way.
It'd make a fun exercise. Creating short animations of canon Warriors in similar style of these two already pretty fun to watch animated series of great books.
Tumblr media
Might be actually pretty heckin' fun! I can feel the gears in my mind turning just trying to create this and make it come to life!
So which one of you guys read and watched The Silver Brumby on YouTube? I never got far but what are your thoughts? I never actually well.. fully finished but, as far as I seen it's pretty nice lol

Hello! This is a blog primarily focused on making animal books (mainly Xenofiction) more accessible to those who can't get them legally (or don't want to support the creators)
I've made two separate drives that contain A LOT of pdfs of said books, such as Warrior Cats, Wings of Fire, Ratha's Creature, Watership Down, Survivors and many more you can see on this list
You can ask for the links through messages or comments!
Tumblr media
More details about this under the cut!
Why not share the drives here?
Well, the last time I saw someone do that, the links got taken down, so instead I'll be sharing them through DMs!
Also, don't be shy to ask any questions.
There are two drives, the Main Books drive, and the Mature Books drive (which is mostly still a work in progress)
Please, specify if you want access to the mature books drive, and only ask for it if you're 18 years old or older, I will be checking if you have your age/age range in bio, if you don't have it, you can also say you're an adult when asking for it. (It's not a foolproof system, I know, but It's not like I want to ask for personal details)
The main drive has books that range from Family friendly to other series with an age rating of +13 or +15.
(I usually censor slurs before uploading the PDFs, but this time around, because of my own triggers, I haven't checked the contents of them and left the books the same as they were upon release, including slurs) (just because I left them intact, does not mean I agree with the usage of said words in the context of the books, which is why I added warnings for each slur in a document inside the drive) (I've personally censored every slur I've found in the books of the main drive, however)
The mature books drive has animal books that have a lot of content not appropriate for minors, such as animals going into heat cycles, uncensored slurs and a lot of other dark topics (like SA, for example). (Just because there's animal heat scenes doesn't mean that I condone the enjoyment of said scenes, if I see someone claiming to be zoophile wanting access to the drive, they will be blocked on sight) (This is not a safe space for anyone attracted to animals in such ways)
Some gross people have already asked me for the link to the mature drive, if more people like them keep asking for it i WILL DELETE IT.
For reference, this drive has books like Ratha's Creature and One for Sorrow, Two for Joy.
ALL BOOKS IN BOTH DRIVES HAVE A DOCUMENT LISTING ALL TRIGGER AND CONTENT WARNINGS FOR EACH SERIES.
The trigger warnings were sourced from book reviews and pages focused on giving content warnings.
Here are other questions you may have:
Can I share the link once I have it?
Yes! As long as you don't share it in public internet spaces (comments, public posts, open discord servers with huge amounts of people) it should be fine. I would love to make it public, however I also don't want it to get taken down minutes after sharing, which is why I'm limiting it to private links.
Can I take the PDFs from the drive and use them on my own drive?
Of course! The entire point of this is to make these books more accessible! Take whatever you need from here!
Have a nice reading! I will keep giving out the links for as long as this post is still up (or gets taken down or something happens to me lol)

I know they don’t wear waistcoats but please tell us about whether or not the warrior cats have monarchist ideologies
(In reference to this post: https://www.tumblr.com/elodieunderglass/748489160252358656/theyre-american)
The post jokingly looks at beloved fictional British animals with some degree of anthropomorphism, I.e. wearing waistcoats. I felt comfortable including non-waistcoat-wearing animals such as Watership Down in my addition as they are anthropomorphised.
Warrior Cats is a commercial children’s series created by several authors, the majority of whom are British. The cats do not wear waistcoats. They are said to have elaborate political systems that are anthropomorphised. The series is notable for the naming conventions.
I don’t think I should express an opinion here because of my total ignorance of the source material. I was just a bit too old when they first started coming out, and no longer reading Redwall etc. Unlike the other fictional characters I posted about, where I can defend my hilarious joke stances with actual political insights, I got nothing for you here and wouldn’t want to try. (Everyone in the notes on that post insisting that I am wrong about the redwall mice and Watership down rabbits is SO WRONG on the internet and I’m being so brave about ignoring them)
Throw this one out to the public then
