HI, this is my first NHL fic! Please let me know what yall think! This is based on my roommates lmao and don't judge the order on how I put on my make up okay??? ALSO this isn't edited and I just spit out my thoughts. Sorry lmao

Sitting in your bed, you grasp your phone in your shaky hands as you try to text your boyfriend, Quinn. 

“My roommates are being terrible again,” is all you managed to text him through a wall of tears. You tossed your phone onto your bed and rubbed your eyes as tears kept falling, waiting for the familiar ding of Quinn’s reply. 

After a few minutes, that ding sounded in your quiet room. Wiping your eyes one last time before unlocking your phone to see Quinn’s reply, “Oh baby, what happened?”

You typed as fast as you could, “They’re just putting me down about the things that I enjoy. And they are being very passive aggressive about me being here.”

“What did they do this time?” He responded.

“They invited me to dinner and then left without me, changing restaurants without telling me. I only know because of Life360. It’s so stupid. It’s like I’m being stood up. I hate this,” you sent Quinn with a large sigh.

“Let me take you out,” he quickly texted back.

“I have to redo my make up,” you groaned as you hit send.

You stared at the screen, waiting for him to reply. A beat later, he sent, “Baby, take your time. I’m going to change and then I’ll pick you up.”

A tear fell as you sent, “You’re the best. I love you.”

“I love you too. See you soon,” Quinn sent.

Wiping your eyes one last time, you got up and looked in the mirror. You groaned as black streaks flowed down your cheeks. Grabbing a make up wipe, you rubbed your eyes and cheeks to rid your face of the runny mascara. 

“I really should invest in waterproof mascara,” you mumbled to yourself. After wiping your face, you grabbed your make up bag and opened it revealing the plethora of make up products that you possessed. You snatched the primer from your bag and rubbed it all over your face followed by your foundation. After that, you put on a powder and blush. Then, finding an eyeshadow palette that matches your dress, you started to brush the powder into your eyelids, swiping colors across your eyes. When you we satisfied with the eyeshadow, you, again, put on mascara. After letting it dry for a bit, you put the eyelash curler up to your eyelashes to get that volume.

When you were finished, you heard the familiar ding of your phone. Smiling, you grabbed your phone to see the “here” message from Quinn. Quickly plucking up your purse, you slid on your shoes and ran out the door.

Quinn was outside his car, leaning on the passenger side door waiting for you to come outside. You bounded down the apartment stairs and right into his waiting arms. The smell of his cologne filled your nose as you breathed him in. Letting it be a source of comfort for you.

After a second, he whispered, “Let me look at you.” You pulled back as he held your hand making you twirl your dress around. “Absolutely beautiful.”

“Oh stop it. You’ll make me cry,” you muttered shyly as you looked at your feet. Quinn raised your hand and gave it a kiss before opening the passenger door for you. 

On the way to the restaurant, you went into detail about your roommates. About how they do little things to purposely irritate you or say things that make you feel bad about yourself. Quinn listened intently to you. He pulled up to the restaurant and opened the door to let you out. 

You both got sat in the back corner of the restaurant. It was quiet and secluded, just how you guys liked it. You were able to talk to each other and he wasn’t easily recognized. 

After eating a bit, you kept thinking of your home situation with your roommates and how shitty it is. Tears started to bubble up into your eyes. 

Looking up, Quinn asked, “What’s wrong?” 

You looked into his eyes at his question. The tears fell like a floodgate being opened. “I don’t want to go home. They don’t even want me there, that’s clear. It’s like I’m slowly deteriorating on the inside from how they treat me. I’m miserable,” you confessed.

“Oh honey. I’m so so sorry that’s how you feel,” he cooed at you, “I’ve been meaning to ask this for awhile.”

“Ask what?” you hiccupped. 

Quinn smiled, “Ask you to move in with me. I think it would be good. Good for me to be closer to you and good for you to be out of that living situation. What do you think?”

You sniffled and dabbed your cheeks, “Really? You want me to? You would be okay with me invading your space?”

He reached for your hand with both of his, “Yes, really. I would absolutely love for you to move in. You in my space would be the best. Please? I need you in my space.”

You heart fluttered at his words. You wanted nothing but to be included and wanted. “Okay, of course I want to move in!” you exclaimed.

Quinn’s heart jumped, he loved you with all his heart, and couldn’t wait for this next step with you. He leaned over the table to give you a kiss. You met him halfway, pouring all your happy emotions into that kiss.

Hair Care💇‍♀️

Find out your hair needs from a professional. Get your hair done and ASK QUESTIONS. Some questions are, “what my hairs porosity?” “Is my hair fine, medium, or coarse in texture?” “Does my hair lack protein?” Learn about your hair and then buy the appropriate products.

Leave in and then oil your ends. Leave in conditioner is so important. Your hair loses moisture through out the day and a leave in helps prevent that. Sealing the ends with oil prevents the newly added moisture from evaporating. This will help a lot with hair length retention. So basically your hair not breaking at the end or turning to dust (this literally happens.)

Heat-less curls! See below. These curlers are AMAZING! They give you a blow out look without the heat. I always use them now every time I shower. Basically you use them when your hair is damp, sleep on it, and take out in the morning.

Speaking of sleeping, silk bonnets. Covering your hair with a bonnet is so important even if you don’t have curls like I do. It reduces frizz and friction and keeps your hair from breaking and becoming dry. Hot girls never sleep without one!

Hair masks - once a week

Hair oiling. Use an oil that works with your hair type (fine, medium, coarse.) apply to scalp before you shower and wait 30 mins or longer if your hair can handle it. Make sure to massage 💆‍♀️

Clarify your scalp when needed

Hair powder. Buy or make a hair powder to use as a dry shampoo. They absorb oil and add thickness to the hair shaft. Win, win! Etsy is the place to shop.

You cannot train your hair. That’s not how the body works, sorry. If you need to wash your hair, wash it.

Skin Care🧴

See a dermatologist! If you are struggling with consistent acne or the aftermath or scars and inflammation. See a Dermatologist

Figure out what kind of acne scars you have. There’s P.I.E (Post inflammatory erythema) which is the red mark left over, P.I.H (Post inflammatory hyperpigmentation) the brown spots left over, atrophic scars, boxcar scars, ice pick scars, or hypertrophic scars. Each scars nerds something different. I get P.I.E which likes retinol, niacinamide, and dermabrasion.

Wear Sunscreen EVERYDAY. I don’t care if it’s raining or you aren’t going anywhere, windows exist. Anything over 50 SPF doesn’t get stronger BUT it does last longer. You can also use your sunscreen as a moisturizer if you are not super dry.

Anti-aging. You should only be using anti-aging at 25 years old and up. 25 is when you start to age so doing it before is detrimental to skin health.

Double cleanse EVERYDAY even if you wore no makeup. Your sunscreen should be waterproof so it needs an oil to break it down. So wash your face with an oil cleanser than a water based cleanser.

Hand/Nail Care 🤚

Buy a good hand moisturizer not those fragrance ones. Cerave and la roche posay have good ones. Apply at night and then apply a cuticle oil then wear a moisturizer glove. They have ones with tech fingertips so you can still use your phone before bed.

Gel nails at home. Get the equipment to do your gels at home. It’s not expensive anymore and it’s super easy. You will have to watch a tutorial because it’s a very different process than regular nail polish. You NEED a base coat and top coat for it to work btw. Also please scrape your nails before applying. There’s an invisible layer of skin on your nails I promise you. I’ll talk more about this in foot care. I recommend doing nude colors because they look better as they grow out.

UV gloves. If you are doing Gel nails you need UV blocking gloves. They have kinds that leave the finger tips out so you can do your nails. You really don’t want to be blasting your hands with UV. It’s like a tanning bed for your hands. I also suggest driving UV blocking gloves. They have grippies for driving. When you drive your hands are blasted with the sun. The back of your hand are super delicate and prone to sun damage and aging. There’s also hand sunscreen which I recommend.

Foot care 👠

You NEED a pedicure kit. I recommend this

Watch the meticulous manicurist on YouTube she is a wealth of knowledge!

You want to get ride of the junk in your side walls and on top of your nail!

Use a glass foot file to get rid of dry skin and calluses. Speaking of calluses there are things you can buy that reduce them if you get them in the same spot every time. I get one under my big toes so there’s silicone cushions that wrap around my big toe and help with the extra pressure I’m putting on them. They have heel ones too!

Kerasol foot cream is the best foot cream it’s what dems suggest. You can buy moisturizer socks and put them in after applying and sleep on it or wrap your feet in Saran Wrap then a sock if you can’t spend the money.

Hair removal 🪒

Eye brows - it’s super cheap to just get them professionally threaded honestly. A professional can do a better job than you. Simply set a recurring day on your calendar. Go once or twice a month depending on your brows.

Do not shave your face at home! It’s a form of dermabrasion and if everything isn’t 100% sterile than you can get infected and lots of acne.

Kitty 🐱 I honestly prefer an electric shaver and using the razor only for the bikini line. Less irritation and it still looks neat.

Armpits - waxing or laser is the best but regular shaving is fine.

Legs - you can use hair conditioner as shaving cream!

Other tips on how to look good daily, wear jewelry everyday that fits your skin tone, learn your colors (summer, winters, fall, spring, and more. I’m a soft summer.) Learn your Kibbe type. I am a soft dramatic!

Morning Sounds CW: Messing, Blindfold, Diapered Dom, SFW

My little one awoke. The rustling mattress cover told me that much, and right on time, too. The bottle warmer rang out right on cue and I tested it on my wrist. The door to her nursery creaked open and there she was, beautiful and not awake enough to have stirred much from her crib. She was blindfolded, of course, and her oversized silencer pacifier paired perfectly with it. The crib bars went thunk and the mattress crinkled louder, then grew silent. Two pairs of diapers, one louder than the other, graced the nursery, ended in a pointed thump against the wall. I made a point to remember to move the feeding chair away next time. Just as I have for the past week. But of course, that wasn’t important right now. What was, was the sound of suckling, the hiss of the straw inside working its magic to keep the pressure constant. No need to rest as my little one steadily drained the bottle. Long, slow breaths. Deep, strong breaths. I was a very, very proud mama, and her little squirms as I gave her a nice long sigh and a smooch on the forehead always brought a smile to my face. All too soon, the burble of milk turned into the drier sound of air and with a pop, the bottle tapped on the table before I shifted her to face me instead of laying in my lap. Burp! Rather unladylike, I have to admit, but she wasn’t much of a lady, and I was happy to keep it that way. Speaking of unladylike, the soft noises from my little one told me she was about to need her morning change. She squeezes my arms with her soft hands, sniffling and shuffling slightly. I feel her tense up and push, knees spreading pushing further into the chair’s fabric. The earthy scent of her accident is muted by her padding, mingling with the scent of baby powder and eucalyptus. The air freshener spritzed like clockwork and she moaned a little, suckling on her pacifier oh so cutely. Pop pop pop went the snaps! Woosh went the powder! Thunk went the old diaper, into the plastic lined pail. The air filled with the chorus of plastic being shaken and fluffed before meeting the waterproof changing table with a scritch. Four tapes made quiet rips, then four more as they were adjusted just right, then more crinkles as the leak guards were prepped for the day ahead. A quick raspberry for good measure, causing the little one to squeal, before three more pops in reverse and, ready for the day, two sets of crinkles left the nursery.

⤷ apply sunscreen before you go out and reapply ever 2 hours. look for products that are: lightweight & nonsticky, don’t leave a white cast, spf 50++

♡ warmer weather calls for natural, glowy looks

the sun is out so it’s only natural for me to want to glow when the sun is hitting my face and body ♡ i love to really highlight my highest points.

applying subtle gold shimmer on your eyelids

lipgloss!

preferably one that is hydrating, slightly pigmented to bring out the colors in your lips & glowy. not sticky. my recommendation is the dior lip glow stick.

highlighter

my favorite is mac’s strobe highlighter in peachlite. it honestly gives my skin such a beautiful and subtle pink glow to my face!! i love applying it before my makeup.

⤷ don’t forget your collarbones and shoulders.

there is nothing else that makes me feel like a radiating goddess walking down the street when i put highlighter on my body.

⤷ also, layering powder products on top of wet/creamy products make them more pigmented! this is why you see some people wet their eyeshadow brushes before dipping them into the product ♡

blushed & flushed or nothing!

who doesn’t love a good blushed face during the summer? just because your blush is visible doesnt mean you’re wearing too much!!!! own it!!

maya sakamaki: makeup headcanons

makeup is actually something maya has been aware of since she was brought to the brothel (childhood days 😭😭😭)

there has never been a day where she saw the women put on tons of white powder or makeup on their face and paint their lips bright red bcos men like it when you leave stain on them

maya has touched them once but due to her fear of becoming a main target of the customers, she decided she has to be somewhat ordinary so these men won't call for her (imagine old bastards wanting to rape a child dafuq)

the only time she used makeup again is whenever gilbert would take her to parties in the human world and disguise her as his "daughter"

other than that, maya mostly kept herself bare since she had a hard time finding makeup products that suit her dry skin (like her skin's as dry as the sahara desert)

she just got lucky with kanato in terms of the makeup department bcos fun fact: kanato knows a whole sht of makeup, even bought products that suit her face and skin tone

maya's color palette is basically more on the cherry pink side of things? she's basically a winter cool type of girl so colors on the cooler scale of the spectrum works for her

tbh she leans more on the Japanese side of makeup, meaning more emphasis on the eyes rather than the lips along with cool toned palettes

for base makeup, she opts for light ones like a tinted moisturizer since she doesn't have to worry abt them being thick or something. however, she doesn't wear them at school bcos she's afraid the teachers will notice and have it removed from her (some schools in Japan forbid female students from wearing excessive makeup tho but I think Ryoutei is a different case)

ofc maya's eye makeup is on point since Japanese makeup is all about the eyes so she always has her eyebrow along with her subtle eyeliner and mascara (yes they are all waterproof bcos Japan nailed their products like that)

the same thing applies for her blush bcos apparently the drunk blush technique is famous in Japan way waaaaaaaay back so she puts a bit of her liquid blush on the apples of her cheek and spread them evenly (kinda like baby doll cheeks vibes)

for her lips, she uses 3 to 4 products, depending on the occasion cause maya's lips are so pale so she had to paint a bit of color in them (ya know so no one would think she's a vampire lol)

at school, she only uses her favorite Benetint and tops it with her cherry lip oil. sometimes she would wear her Opera Lip Tint no 12 especially when her lips are so dry but if she needed something vibrant, especially during her dates with kanato or when they attend a party, that's when she whips out her pinkish red glossy tint.

she actually doesn't wear any powdery products on her face since they have this tendency to create kinda like a clumping texture on her skin so when she's not wearing any base makeup, she would just go for a handy moisturizer (I wanna say sunscreen then I remembered she has night classes)

but overall maya dons a natural pink makeup that hides her true self as the vampire doll, unassuming yet dangerous to those who dare touch her without permission

Makeup routine? 🐈‍⬛

mhhhhhhhhh. I would make a video but it is not v much so i would feel too silly .. I can write it out &post my products later if u want. my makeup itself is simple but I think my techniques r.. odd lol

• moisturizer + sunscreen + primer! bcus i alwaysm accidentally rub my makeup off

• i use a very pale concealer that is almost lilac-y under my eyes & around my mouth + nose to brighten up all my shadows n then a sheer foundation like .. only on the center of my face? I will just rly lightly use it to brighten + even out the center of my forehead, my bridge&around my nose, and chin. Idk

• i tint my eyebrows with beard dye bcus I loatheee drawing them on but my brows r high + thin. emphasis the front part of ur brows &tilt them up a bit when u draw so u always look a bit pouty and 'hmph' <- Princess secret

• i use a veryvery grey cool - toned brown color to contour bcus it is the only shade that works with my skintone . I just kinda smudge it along the edge of my jaw and then bcus i have fractured my nose onemillion times it is rly uneven so I just do a little line down the one side .. to even it out lol. and then that'ms it . God bless how kittycat my nose is.. my tip to replicate this is to widen the bridge of ur nose with a light powder and then only contour the very tip. U want ur nose to look like V <- this sort of shape

• i put all of my blush where I am naturally pink like across my nose + the edges of my cheeks and then i extend it up to the corners of my eyes .. and then this is typically where i start decorating myself with glitter . Lots. I like putting it in the center of my lid and then right under my lacrimal caruncle ehich is the pink thingie in thr corner of ur eye. Also like a tiny fairy dusting of it on my nose tip . this is also the point where I go over all of my beautymarks with a brown eyeliner to make sure their starpower is visible always!

• for my mascara I use a rlllly teensy tiny eyelash curler that only curls small sections bcus i only curl the corner of my eyelashes . I have rly long lashes but it comes with the curse of them being too heavy to stay up soo . I heat up my curler with my lighter, curl the ends bcus it makes me look extraterrestrial kitten - like , then I use a waterproof mascara. if u want a dollier type of look, curl all of ur lashes .

• i like smudging out dark pink / red lip - stains in the center of my lips to make it seem like my bitten as fuxkkck lips are actually makeup &...not jsut mutilated lol. But it gives u a rly lovestruck kissie innocent effect that i like. i don'mt do lipliner or anythint bcus it looks too strange with my lipshape but sometimes I take a littttle bit of lipstick on a brush and use to very lightly emphasize my cupid's bow ... I like how heart - shaped it looks and again . It is just very kittycat to me

Abigail Jones was born in the Human society ca. 345 A.F. An only child, she grew up moderately well, with enough funds to pay for a good school. A lover of water since childhood, she won several swimming competitions, and was looking to become a professional swimmer for a while, when at the age of eighteen, Cornelius Wildflower-Stardust invented Stardust water, which replaced the entire water supply of all societies, ending the drought that had been the main issue after the Fall. 

One small problem, though: Abigail is entirely waterproof. While Stardust water was deemed completely safe for all Wiccen, Faerie and Human folk, Abigail found that wasn’t her case when she drank a glass of the stuff and almost died.*  After that, a battery of tests was conducted to find what seemed to be the problem, and Abigail became the next Wiccen Magical Medical wonder, turning into somewhat of a celebrity. Wanting nothing more than to hide in her room, she instead granted several interviews for all the money she could get, so she and her parents could buy non Stardust water, which became a rare find, made only by water Faeries---the same kind Cornelius Wildflower-Stardust belongs to. Now, with all her hope gone, Abigail at 27 works at a diner, covers her face with a scarf not to be recognized, and goes through life in the least obtrusive way possible, just wanting to get by. Still, a fateful encounter will give her an unique opportunity to do what she has been wanting to do since she were at least 19: Get her revenge on Cornelius Wildflower-Stardust. *Although all water was either replaced or mixed with Stardust Water in some shape or form, Dr. Charles Winston Albarn, Abigail's own pro-bono Wiccen Society doctor came up with one way to counter the drinking problem, even if it didn't solve everything: A powder, made of a combination of herbs and different wiccen magic, that Abigail can pour into liquids to make them drinkable for her. This powder does not work on pure Stardust Water. Abigail frequently brings her own bottle from home.
