Just got done watching Maquia: When the Promised Flower Blooms and I am like....so normal right now. Haven't been crying for the last half hour or anything. No, I don't feel the intense need to call my mother and tell her I love her.

As someone who also lives under a rock (does not watch anime), if I don’t recognize the ship going against Reylo, I simply Do Not Vote. I still want Reylo to lose across the board, but I’m leaving it in the hands of each fandom to take that strike against them.

Prolly gonna be my one and only rwde post (cus the fanbase is rancid and I'm not rlly a rwby fan, just a person who watches the show): some of you rwby fans are too comfortable using your queerness as a shield to silence BIPOC voices about the racist writing and your 'precious' bigoted CRWBY. You guys unironically act/think that just because you have to deal with queerphobia; you are IMMUNE to being bigoted yourself and you are INCAPABLE of parroting bigoted beliefs. Cus I know there will be a dumbass ant1-rwde posters who will try to drown out this post by saying its 'lies from the EVIL RWDE!!!': You would rather weaponize your queerness to bash on BIPOC voices, while claiming to care about our voices. You would rather be complicit with the racist writers and their racist writing, just because your racist writers gave you a queer ship. There is no shame nor issue in projecting the abused you suffered onto the characters, however you refuse to see through the characters and their writing through a BIPOC lens. You do not get the right to impose your perspective of the characters at the expense of BIPOC voices, you do not get to twist our voices to be alt-right bigots because we called out RWBY's rampant racism. You do not get the right to say you give a shit about BIPOC and have #BLM in your bio when you fervently defend your bigoted company. You do not get to pretend to care about racism when you buy merch off of your bigoted company. My fellow BIPOC (especially the queer BIPOC): why are you guys so comfortable dismissing your fellow poc about their discomfort with RWBY's racist writing? BIPOC are not a monolith with the same opinions about racism in media; but some of you guys are weirdly comfortable with turning a blind eye to your fellow BIPOC getting dogpiled by the white fandom. We can and will disagree, you not agreeing as a BIPOC about RWBY's racist writing is not what I take issue with. The issue lies within you upholding the racial colourblindness in the fandom; like how the fandom was ok with throwing the racism under the bus in favour of queerness, you are ok with throwing your BIPOC peers under the bus for white queerness. sometimes I feel like I want to hunt shitty influencers for sport when they post animal stuff. Clearly distressed animals or wild animals that shouldn’t be near untrained humans or animals THAT SHOULD NOT BE PETS kept as pets… animals in situations that are dangerous or unhealthy. people pretending that high maintenance pets are easy and fun. Actually despise how I can’t ask for pro-vegan resources or articles without being bombarded by animal gore videos and proceed to be insulted for not wanting to see them… when I’m already vegetarian and pro-animal rights.

“If you don’t watch the videos you’re hiding from the truth!” You know it’s entirely possible to inform someone of something without forcing them to witness traumatising content right. I’ve managed to stop eating meat and reduce my animal product usage for 7 years all without sitting through Dominion or a single animal gore video.

I really don’t think I’m crazy for wanting some resources I can send people without forcing them to watch extremely upsetting content and it’s such a weird Mind Police mindset to think otherwise. Would you send someone rape and torture and murder videos to inform them about war or fascism? Who am I kidding, some of you probably would. This strange martyr mindset of “they’re suffering so I have to make myself suffer by deliberately triggering myself” has got to stop.

The vast majority of people are not going to watch extremely distressing content you send them and if you try to force them to you’re probably not going to convince them of anything other than that you’re a nasty vile cunt. anyways i actually haven't thought about what tribe yuusha would be born into,,, so i mayyyy have thought way too much about this -

(like with your daisy i think it would make sense for yuusha to be the avatar bc she’s also yuu/mc!!) my first instinct with yuusha was water tribe just based on vibes (and colors tbh), i lowkey have no further explanation 😭 AND THEN i thought northern water tribe specifically bc i thought it’d be interesting to have a female avatar when the tribe was still like- basically sexist against women

ghdkfjsk and i just had to envision yuusha in the water tribe fit -

if i recall correctly the girls were only allowed to use waterbending for healing and stuff like that and they’re not allowed to fight with it??? but if yuu is the avatar they’d probably make an exception with her??? also also!! i like the idea that even though she’s the avatar she’s there’s still people looking down on her / underestimate / doesn't take her seriously bc she’s not a boy (and she still has to follow customs like being engaged-to-be-married at a young age hence her betrothal necklace)

OR maybe an alternate take - since yuusha IS a girl they would try to hide the fact she’s the avatar bc it doesn't fit their patriarchal society

watching Naruto for the first time and got to episode 133 and honestly i fucking get it now

1) The animation was phenomenal this episode, it reminded me a bit of that feeling of watching gear five animated in One Piece

2) Naruto and Sasuke are soulmates and you can't convince me otherwise. And i'm not talking in the romantic sense, though I know some people ship them (and i might once I get to shippuden and they're older and not like 13/14), but just the way they interact with each other and how their backstories intertwine and the way Naruto described their relationship and his longing for someone who was alone just like him like i can hear the desperation in his voice, Naruto desperately wants Sasuke to come back home because that's his most cherished friend. And Sasuke is obviously not good with words but his face is so full of expression and the devastation he had on his face when it seemed like he had the upper hand and Naruto was badly hurt and just floating in the water was and it was too much for me, especially when he pushed it all down and remembered he has to kill Naruto to catch up to his brother and his face went blank and it's obvious they're in two different places right now because yeah they were both alone as children but Sasuke was right, he had it all and lost it while Naruto had nothing to begin with. And yes Naruto has his comrades now, but he hasn't loved and lost like Sasuke had. And it all just makes it so much more devastating and a tragedy because it was always going to end this way. Sasuke's clan getting murdered was out of his control and Naruto had been alone since birth. Their circumstances were made for them and they are who they are because of it, so even if the choice was there for Sasuke to realize he could stay and that Naruto would help him defeat Itachi because they were best friends and Naruto would be the type to help Sasuke no matter what, Sasuke was always going to leave alone because he doesn't want to admit his attachment to Naruto on more than a superficial 'have to kill my closest friend to get the mangekyo sharingan' way and actually comprehend how much he actually cares for Naruto or else he won't be able to kill him so he could catch up to his brother's level and get revenge. While Naruto does comprehend how he feels about Sasuke because he was alone and now has this precious thing, someone who sort of understands him, his closest friend, and doesn't want to lose it when he finally, finally, has something of his own choosing and not like Iruka who is kinda like his adopted dad

3) When my students would piss me off I would say things like 'i just know Naruto is mid because the way you're acting tells me you watch mid anime' and they would get so upset and we'd get into a big discussion but it was fun for all of us to like get to argue with each other over meaningless stuff before getting back to work on math but now i kind of feel bad for using Naruto as an example when I hadn't seen it at that point in time and now I know it's definitely not mid
