Just got done watching Maquia: When the Promised Flower Blooms and I am like....so normal right now. Haven't been crying for the last half hour or anything. No, I don't feel the intense need to call my mother and tell her I love her.

Actually despise how I can’t ask for pro-vegan resources or articles without being bombarded by animal gore videos and proceed to be insulted for not wanting to see them… when I’m already vegetarian and pro-animal rights.

“If you don’t watch the videos you’re hiding from the truth!” You know it’s entirely possible to inform someone of something without forcing them to witness traumatising content right. I’ve managed to stop eating meat and reduce my animal product usage for 7 years all without sitting through Dominion or a single animal gore video.

I really don’t think I’m crazy for wanting some resources I can send people without forcing them to watch extremely upsetting content and it’s such a weird Mind Police mindset to think otherwise. Would you send someone rape and torture and murder videos to inform them about war or fascism? Who am I kidding, some of you probably would. This strange martyr mindset of “they’re suffering so I have to make myself suffer by deliberately triggering myself” has got to stop.

Newsflash! The vast majority of people are not going to watch extremely distressing content you send them and if you try to force them to you’re probably not going to convince them of anything other than that you’re a nasty vile cunt. I don’t care how much of an annoying know-it-all brat someone is when they’re against something or uninformed about it, you don’t do that to them. Where is the humanity

As someone who also lives under a rock (does not watch anime), if I don’t recognize the ship going against Reylo, I simply Do Not Vote. I still want Reylo to lose across the board, but I’m leaving it in the hands of each fandom to take that strike against them.

Got busy again, but I want to doll a poll on which topic followers would want to read the most!

Going to go through summarizing what each piece would be about:

1. Magical Girl media recommendations - This will be about more obscure, less popular, or shows that are considered to be 'forgotten" by the Western magical girl community. While I do find a few of the more mainstream titles worth talking about, I don't really feel anyone needs them recommended to some high account because fans will watch them anyway. Titles being addressed will include (but not only) Fancy Lala, Cosmic Baton Girl Comet-san, Prétear, Alice 19th, and Jewelpet Twinkle. The games would include Community Pom, Moco Moco Friends, and Deathsmiles (will add more onto the list later)

2. Gender Roles - What is says on the tin. I have came across a few series that manage to address these themes well, and... some that manage to miss the mark. Sugar Sugar Rune is one title that will be addressed here. The other series I was considering addressing would need a content warning and I feel the author fumbled the concept as the manga went on.

3. Strange/Unconventional Magical Girl Titles - This is a piece I was considering to overall fuse into other genres and have not started on yet. While there are certainly titles I consider to be more experimental or have odd humor, most titles in the genre do not stand out to me for being "strange." I do not consider content that is dark automatically strange or unconventional, either. I mean strange as in concepts, and moreso along the lines of shows like Tenshi ni Narumon and not what Google kept telling me people find "weird" (ie Symphogear???) The only odd title I can think of right now would be Okusama wa Mahou Shoujo, and I doubt anyone on here even knows what it is. At the very least if it ends up not being all about magical girls I can write about Key, the Metal Idol or Kirameki Project? Alien Nine? No idea.

4. Disturbing/Strange Magical Girl Episodes - This is an abandoned idea I started on years ago and meant to publish on Halloween. I've done a piece like this before, but about non horror media with disturbing elements. For example, Tokyo Babylon and Dead Demon were addressed in that article. Super Doll Licca-chan, Fancy Lala, Nurse Angel Ririka SOS and Shamanic Princess come to mind with episodes to write on.

anyways i actually haven't thought about what tribe yuusha would be born into,,, so i mayyyy have thought way too much about this -

(like with your daisy i think it would make sense for yuusha to be the avatar bc she’s also yuu/mc!!) my first instinct with yuusha was water tribe just based on vibes (and colors tbh), i lowkey have no further explanation 😭 AND THEN i thought northern water tribe specifically bc i thought it’d be interesting to have a female avatar when the tribe was still like- basically sexist against women

ghdkfjsk and i just had to envision yuusha in the water tribe fit -

if i recall correctly the girls were only allowed to use waterbending for healing and stuff like that and they’re not allowed to fight with it??? but if yuu is the avatar they’d probably make an exception with her??? also also!! i like the idea that even though she’s the avatar she’s there’s still people looking down on her / underestimate / doesn't take her seriously bc she’s not a boy (and she still has to follow customs like being engaged-to-be-married at a young age hence her betrothal necklace)

OR maybe an alternate take - since yuusha IS a girl they would try to hide the fact she’s the avatar bc it doesn't fit their patriarchal society
