here's my assessment of hardcore scenes up here in canada:

BC - almost exclusively in Victoria and Vancouver. Outside of Chain Whip and Bootlicker most of the scene seems to lean grind/PV and screamo. Check out the BC Thrash Demolition comp and Drive Your Plow Over the Bones of the Dead

Prairies - Not much. Alberta has some real solid metalcore like World Of Pleasure and Serration. Meanwhile Manitoba reps some youth crew-syle hardcore with Meantime and the incredibly raw Nuclear Man. Saskatchewan is dire, I won't lie.

Ontario - Basically southern Ontario. Kind of a mix of subgenres but mostly leans metalcore/beatdown. Reality Denied and Rust are tight, but definitely check Street Justice for that fast as fuck vegan straight edge shit. Some stuff up in Ottawa too like Skull Gate and Zeal, but not much else.

Quebec - Montreal basically got it all. Beatdown, crust, PV, Oi!, crossover thrash, stenchcore, shit is crazy over there. There's a pretty good compilation that you can check out, but I also recommend Jetsam and Warkrusher.

Atlantic Canada - Absolutely nothing in New Brunswick. It's actually sad. PEI at least got Cell Deth, but nothing else. Nova Scotia is doing the best of the maritimes, with raw d-beat shit from Black Dog and metalcore from Pale Ache. Newfoundland punches above it's weight with some incredible PV from Knarl and hardcore from Tunnel Vision.

Feel free to add other stuff that you fw. This is mostly a broad overview and I hope more people check out stuff from up here.
