hi! i want to take a moment today to spotlight the campaign of another friend who's been so gracious as to share his story with me.
Hazem Tannera (@hazemfromgaza) was able to evacuate to Egypt several months ago, but in a heartbreaking decision prompted by lack of funds, he was forced to leave his beloved family of ten behind in devastated Gaza. facing constant danger and deprivation, they are now struggling to survive, as well as provide for three young children.
Hazem is doing all he can to collect enough money (£80,000) for them to join him in Egypt, but his campaign is progressing slowly, and he has only managed to raise a little over £6,000. this is barely enough to evacuate one adult, and he is responsible for seven, plus three children. The crossing fees alone for the whole group amount to ~£43,500, and it's likely that this estimate is on the lower side, given that it was made before the border closed and prices have almost certainly increased since then.
on top of all this, Hazem recently found out that he is suffering from a tumor on his pituitary gland and will have to undergo treatment to remove it. he is afraid that if anything goes wrong, his family will be left stranded without a lifeline or hope of escape from the genocide.
"I do not want my life to end without my family's help," Hazem said to me over messages the other day. during this difficult time, he should be able to focus on recovering and not fear that his family will be killed, once again face displacement, or be left alone without support.
if you have the means, please donate to help Hazem save his family. if this isn't something you can do (or even if it is), then please share this post or one of Hazem's instead and encourage others to do the same. let's get Hazem and the rest of the Tannera family to their goal as quickly as possible!
(Hazem's fundraiser has been verified by @/90-ghost)

HSR THEORY - COULD NIHILITY, VORACITY AND DEVICE IX BE LINKED ?
All my thanks to Bunni on the old friends Discord Server. I wouldn't have had this fucked up theory without her. Also, this is messy and probably nonsensical but I had to purge it.
The question asked was about "how close Voracity and Destruction are in terms of beliefs". A valid question, as something like Voracity and "devourer of worlds" imply mindless destruction.
HOWEVER.
Nanook's Emanator destroys with purpose, where Ouroboros seems to act more on instinct than anything, an animal feeding itself rather than a sentient being with an agenda.
Looking at Ourobos description in the databank, something struck me :
The drinker of worlds, the unsatisfied devourer, the black hole with thought. THEY are an Aeon and a Leviathan at the same time.
"The blackhole with thought".
Something one would expect to read about IX, a literal blackhole, rather than Oroboros. And yet, it's Oroboros description. The second part of the description only birthed more thoughts :
In the eyes of Oroboros, life is a flickering fragment floating in the sea of void, destined to return to the darkness along with the stars which birthed THEM — This darkness is within the depths of THEIR mouths.
Sea of void, return to the darkness... Sounds an awful lot like Nihility, doesn't it ? When you meet Oroboros in the Simulated Universe, the Log Entry states the following :
…Oroboros the Voracity! THEY are reserved and uncommunicative, occasionally resulting in unintended consequences when attempting to speak — such as inadvertently consuming THEIR interlocutors.
IX is also reserved and uncommunicative. Remember the first time we met them in the Simulated Universe ? Herta had to cheer us up with falsities because we were swallowed by IX.
IX: You feel yourself being swallowed by some black liquid — a sea of darkness. Your hearing and smell are cut off, and everything becomes far away from you.
Looking at it this way, it seems there's a possible link between Nihility and Voracity. But it doesn't quite stop there, not really.
To understand, we need to backpedal for a bit.
In the chapter Stranger in a Stranger Land of the Penacony Quest, we had the option to bid our farewells to Acheron. During this exchange, we learned of her true goal :
Acheron: In order to fight against the cruel end of self-destruction, I went on a journey, in search of a way to sever the chains of the Nihility. After a long and grueling search, I am convinced that my destination lies within the depths of the Dark Web, where reality and the Nihility are separate. Acheron: In there lurks a secret called "Device IX"... One day, I'll reach it.
This is a reference to a term known as Horizon of Existence in the Data Bank, the boundary between existence and Nihility marking the "end of reality".
Legend has it that a mysterious faction known as Device IX lurks in the empty reflections of void, difficult to be perceived by the material world. Those who gaze into the void for a long time will gradually be drawn to the dark energy overflowing in the abyss, eventually passing through the Dark Web that separates reality from nothingness — This legend has yet to be proven, though.
So, Device IX is most likely roaming free on the other side of said Horizon of Existence. Saif Horizon of Existence being this :
Tumblr media
An eclipse, a darkened sun, a black sun setting.... A star drowning into a sea of darkness.
Do you know what Leviathan feed on ?
Stars.
Shattered Star Bait : Before the Dusk Wars, the exploded fragments born out of the expansion of disordered nebulas could be used as lures, and their unique aroma of cosmic dust could attract Leviathans to feed on them.
So : Oroboros is nicknamed "the black hole with thought", inadvertently consume THEIR interlocutors, believes that life is a flickering fragment floating in the sea of void and destined to return to the darkness...
And where exactly is this darkness ?
This darkness is within the depths of THEIR mouths.
Forget taking a dive inside IX, there's a real chance to be more successful in reaching the Border of Nihility by plunging directly in Oroboros' goddamn stomach. In any way, both solutions look like a one way road towards the End.
But also, not really. Because the Aeon of the Voracity is named Oroboros. Which is originally a symbol of a snake bitting its own tail, thus representing Eternity.
The oroboros is believed to be a symbol of cyclicality, a cycle of life, death and rebirth. Something I think to be intesting is the existence of this symbol in Ancient Egypt, most particularly in the tomb of Tutankhamun.
The ouroboros is depicted twice on the figure: holding their tails in their mouths, one encircling the head and upper chest, the other surrounding the feet of a large figure, which may represent the unified Ra-Osiris (Osiris born again as Ra). Both serpents are manifestations of the deity Mehen, who in other funerary texts protects Ra in his underworld journey. The whole divine figure represents the beginning and the end of time. [Wikipedia]
(However, besides Mehen, there's another well known snake deity associated to Ra : Apophis or Apep.... continuously trying to devour the sun.)
Looking at Hoyoverse and their love of Samsara and the less than subtle hints we've got about Fuli making a repository of the memory of the universe to prepare the impending doom or Qlipoth (Preservation) creating a wall to keep the Leviathans OUT...
I'm starting to wonder if what's inside the Leviathan's mouth, rather than being the separation between existence and Nihility, it wouldn't be between one universe's existence and the yet-to-happen or already happened birth of another universe.
Addendum : Everything is slowly coming together RIGHT UNDER OUR NOSES.
"Device IX is real. Go find it ! There lies all of Dr. Primitive's secrets !" — Some Drunken Galaxy Ranger
Who's the new 2.6 quest all about ? Dr. Primitive.
Where does the 2.6 quest happens ? In Penacony, where we were previously fully introduced to the concept of Nihility thanks to Acheron, a Self-Annihilator and where we also first met the elusive Galaxy Rangers, first Boothill and then Rappa.
Funnily enough, we do have this quote in Izumo's Planar Set :
Was it yet another appalling experiment by Dr. Primitive, or was it a sign of the Voracity returning from the end of the Cosmos ?
Also, for reminder :
Dr. Primitive is the member #64 of the Genius Society, an Emanator of Erudition, and a notorious criminal who was known for his mastery of gravity-capture technology.
Do you remember that some members of our crew were just on an errand for another member of the Genius Society ? #81 Ruan Mei ?
And what was that quest about ?
DELIVER LEVIATHAN FOSSILS TO RUAN MEI.

An investigation by Al Jazeera’s Sanad Verification Agency has found that the Israeli army attacks that killed seven people in a World Central Kitchen (WCK) aid convoy were intentional. On Monday at 10:43pm (19:43 GMT), journalists reported an Israeli shelling targeting a vehicle on Rashid Street in the central Gaza Strip resulting in casualties. This matches the account of a displaced individual interviewed by Al Jazeera, who confirmed multiple bombings between 11:00 and 11:30pm (20:00 – 20:30 GMT).
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu admitted that the attack had been executed by Israeli forces, saying they had “unintentionally [hit] innocent people in the Gaza Strip … it happens in war.”
The Sanad investigation has found that the attacks were, in fact, intentional. Basing the research on open-source information, witness testimonies, and images from the site, a chronological and geographical timeline of the events was constructed. WCK said in a statement on Tuesday that its workers had been leaving the Deir el-Balah warehouse after delivering 100 tonnes of food aid and that “despite coordinating movements with the [Israeli army], the convoy was hit”. The shelling targeted three vehicles belonging to WCK, one at a time – two armoured and one unarmoured – killing seven relief workers of various nationalities, including a Palestinian driver, Saif Abu Taha, from Rafah.
Hasan al-Shorbagi, a displaced Palestinian who lives with his family near the bombing site, about 4.7km (2.9 miles) from the warehouse, told Al Jazeera the first car was hit by a projectile, completely burning it. This is consistent with the image of the burned armoured car.
According to al-Shorbagi’s testimony, the injured were transferred from the first targeted car to another armoured vehicle to expedite their transport. A statement from WCK confirmed that the convoy left its warehouse in Deir el-Balah – shown on Google Maps at coordinates 31°24’54.7″N 34°22’05.1″E – and headed towards Rashid Street.
This distance along the route from the warehouse to Rashid Street was about three kilometres (1.9 miles) and the first car was targeted about 1.7km (one mile) down the road. The Sanad investigation found that the second vehicle was targeted approximately 800 metres (2,525 feet) away from where the first was hit. The third car was targeted about 1.6km (nearly a mile) away from the second car, based on its location after being bombed. Images taken from the bombing sites show that the vehicles were clearly marked on their roofs and windshields as belonging to WCK, indicating that they were in compliance and there had been prior coordination between WCK and the Israeli army about the movements.
Analysis of images of the second and third targeted vehicles showed signs of a projectile entering from the top and exiting through the bottom, suggesting that the cars were targeted from the air. The Israeli army acknowledged its responsibility for the tragic incident involving the killing of relief workers in Gaza Monday night in an Israeli air raid. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that the Israeli army “unintentionally” struck innocent people in Gaza. The incident drew global condemnation. WCK said its team was travelling in a “deconflicted” area at the time. It called on Israel to stop “this indiscriminate killing” in Gaza and announced it was suspending operations in the region.

Al Qaeda has set up nine new terrorist camps in Afghanistan in 2024, a sign of the Taliban’s increasing tolerance of terror groups in their backyard in spite of pledges to crack down, according to an Afghan resistance leader visiting Washington this week.
“These are training centers; these are recruitment centers,” said Ali Maisam Nazary, the top diplomat for Afghanistan’s National Resistance Front (NRF) based in the country’s Panjshir Valley north of Kabul. “The Taliban have even allowed al Qaeda to build bases and munitions depots in the heart of the Panjshir Valley. [That’s] something unheard of, something impossible even in the 1990s for al Qaeda to have achieved.”
Nazary said that since the fall of Afghanistan to the Taliban in August 2021, just before the complete withdrawal of U.S. troops from the country, terror groups including al Qaeda, the Islamic State’s Khorasan branch, Tehrik-e Taliban Pakistan (TTP), and the Islamic Movement of Uzbekistan have exploded in size and scope, as the country’s unguarded borders have allowed foreign fighters from Arab countries, Central Asian neighbors, and Europe to pour into Afghanistan. Nazary said that 21 known terror groups are currently operating inside the country.
“We’re seeing all the lights are blinking red,” said Doug Livermore, a former U.S. Navy official and a member of the Special Operations Association of America. The United Nations believes that al Qaeda has training camps in at least 10 of Afghanistan’s 34 provinces, even as the Taliban publicly deny that the terror group has a presence in the country.
The movement of al Qaeda forces into the Panjshir Valley—long a stronghold of the NRF—has been a shock to the resistance, which still controls about 60 percent of the area to the Taliban’s 40 percent, according to Nazary.
Al Qaeda leader Saif al-Adel has explicitly called for foreign fighters to migrate to Afghanistan and prepare to attack the West. The Special Inspector General for Afghanistan Reconstruction, a U.S. government watchdog group, said in a July report that though the Taliban have targeted the Islamic State and some other groups, the fundamentalist organization has tolerated the presence of al Qaeda and TTP.
Terror groups control much—if not all—of Afghanistan’s border, Nazary said. “Al Qaeda didn’t have any presence in northern Afghanistan in 2001,” he said. “Today, al Qaeda has a presence throughout the country, and the other terrorist forces.” The country has become an “open black market” of leftover weapons, many of them American, he added.
“The Taliban is having the same problem that we did for 20 years,” Livermore said. “You can control the core, you can control the ring road—to an extent. But then once you start looking out from there, particularly in the east and some of that rough terrain, that seems to be where they [the Islamic State] have managed to establish a pretty solid base of operations.”
Nazary described the relationship between the Taliban and terror groups as “ironclad,” suggesting the group had even provided passports to allow foreign terrorist fighters into the country. The same U.N. report in July said that the Islamic State’s Khorasan branch has facilitators in both Afghanistan and Turkey who can move terrorist fighters into Europe to conduct attacks.
But some experts are doubtful that the NRF’s message will resonate in Washington. “They are refusing to acknowledge that it’s not 2001 anymore,” said Michael Kugelman, the director of the South Asia Institute at the Wilson Center in Washington. “They don’t recognize that, quite frankly, the U.S. and other Western capitals are not interested in getting dragged into a conflict in Afghanistan. There’s no interest in providing arms or money to anti-Taliban groups.”
U.S. intelligence officials are skeptical—at least publicly—about the extent to which Afghanistan could become a terrorist launching pad. The CIA remains in contact with the Taliban in an effort to stanch terror activities, the agency’s deputy director, David Cohen, said at a conference in Maryland on Wednesday, and he said that U.S. intelligence was able to tip Austrian authorities to an Islamic State threat against a planned Taylor Swift concert in Vienna earlier this month.
“We have been engaging with them, all throughout this period, in various ways, as they have taken on the effort to combat both al Qaeda and ISIS-K,” Cohen said of the U.S. contact with the Taliban, using a common acronym for the Islamic State’s Khorasan branch. “And so this isn’t a ‘mission accomplished’ sort of thing. But it is worth noting that in Afghanistan today, the dire predictions have not come to pass.”
Kugelman said the NRF is trying to leverage growing U.S. concerns about terrorism risks stemming from Afghanistan and the Taliban’s harsh crackdown on women’s rights and perceived political opponents. But, he said, it doesn’t have the power to challenge the Taliban head-on.
“I do think that the NRF might perhaps overstate the dangers in Afghanistan, particularly when it comes to terrorism risks, in order to make a stronger case for support,” he said. “I’d also argue that at the end of the day, the Taliban really does not face any threat at all to its political survival.”

RT said he’s gonna start a podcast🤯?!!
Sadly, it's not the real RT account, it's a parody account
It sounds realistic because of the NYT Saif podcast, but it's not real
If he comes back, it'll be in a way that is undeniable
OK, let's have some fun:
If he did a podcast, who would he be interviewing, or would he just be talking by himself?

Re-Painted Picture
“Yes, you did,” Adam saif. He marched into the room, grabbed the chair across from Sera’s desk, and sat down on it backward, legs straddling the backrest, just like she hated. “It don’t care what shit I’ve been getting up to, you didn’t have any right to fuck with Lute like that. Now, you’re going to turn her back, or you’re going to have to find someone else to run the exterminations.”
Sera’s face flickered with something that almost made her seem like a decent person with an actual heart and emotions. It was gone before Adam could be tricked into thinking that she was anything other than an ice-cold bitch. “You should think very carefully before you continue down this path,” she said.
“So should you,” Adam growled. “Who do you think you could find to replace me, huh? Name one jackass in all of Heaven who stands a fucking chance at filling my shoes!”
“It’s not about replacing you, Adam. Your exorcists were created for a purpose. What do you think happens when they fail to serve that purpose?”

The Tragic Love Story of Aurangzeb & Hirabai Zainabadi Mahal
Tumblr media
Aurangzeb's portraits may depict an austere man reading the Quran, but there once lurked in him a passionate young man who had considered the "world well lost" for the love of his life.
This story is not an average Valentine’s Day tale. It is about a love affair of a different kind, of a prince known today only as strong-willed, calculating and devoid of a loving bone in his body. It is about Aurangzeb falling in love at first sight.
In 1636, Aurangzeb was a prince and the Governor of Deccan. En route to Aurangabad, he stopped at Burhanpur to pay his respects to his maternal aunt, who was married to Saif Khan, the Governor of Burhanpur. What followed varies in detail in different tellings. But all of them agree that the austere prince fell in love at first sight with one of the women in his uncle’s harem. Her name was Hirabai.
Ma’asir al-Umara, written by Nawab Shams ud Daula Shah Nawaz Khan and his son Abdul Hai Khan, in the 18th century provides a detailed description of the episode:
“One day the prince went with the ladies of his harem to the garden of Zainabad Burhanpur, named Ahu-khanah [Deer Park], and began to stroll with his chosen beloved ones. Zainabadi, whose musical skill ravished the senses, and who was unique in blandishments, having come in the train of Khan-i-Zaman’s wife (the prince’s maternal aunt), on seeing a fruit-laden mango tree, in mirth and amorous play advanced, leaped up and plucked a fruit, without paying due respect to the prince’s presence. This move of hers robbed the prince of his senses and self-control.”
Despite his extremely religious bent, Aurangzeb was a connoisseur of music and a proficient Veena player. Hirabai’s looks, combined with her musical accomplishments, proved irresistible for the prince. He is said to have been so infatuated with her that he gave in to her demand that he taste wine. But before he could, Hirabai revealed that she was just testing his love for her.
A religious prince ready to taste wine, that shows the extent of his feelings for her.
Akbar, in his bid to regulate the harem, had ordered that all concubines should be named after the place they belonged to. So once Hirabai entered Aurangzeb’s harem she was called Zainabadi.
Grieving in solitude
In Ahkam e Aurangzeb, written in 1640, Aurangzeb’s biographer Hamiduddin Khan Nimchah recounts the Burhanpur encounter differently. According to him, the meeting took place when the prince entered the harem unannounced. He fell into a swoon and, on being asked by his aunt, described the reason for the malady and asked for a remedy. He was given Hirabai in exchange for one of his concubines.
The ensuing passion and infatuation is described the same way in Nimchah’s account.
It is said in Ma’asir al-Umara that Aurangzeb’s love affair proceeded to such lengths as to reach Shah Jahan’s ears. Dara Shikoh, who had no love lost for his brother Aurangzeb, is said to have remarked to their father Shah Jahan, “See the piety and abstinence of this hypocritical knave! He has gone to the dogs for the sake of a wench of his aunt’s household.”
But as destiny would have it, Hirabai did not live for long. Her death affected the prince greatly. She is buried in Aurangabad.
Ma’asir al-Umara records that Aurangzeb was so upset by the death of his beloved that he left the palace to go on a hunt. When reproved by the poet Mir Askari (Aqil Khan) for risking his life in that agitated state, the prince replied:
“‘Lamentation in the house cannot relieve the heart,
In solitude alone you can cry to your heart’s content.”
Aqil Khan then recited this couplet of his own composition:
“How easy did love appear, but alas how hard it is!
How hard was separation, but what repose it gave to the beloved!”
The prince could not check his tears. He committed the verses to memory after vainly trying to learn the modest poet’s name.
Incomplete portraiture
Niccolao Manucci, the Italian traveller and writer (1639–1717), too describes this period in Aurangzeb’s life:
“Aurangzeb grew very fond of one of the dancing-women in his harem, and through the great love he bore to her he neglected for some time his prayers and his austerities, filling up his days with music and dances; and going even farther, he enlivened himself with wine, which he drank at the instance of the said dancing-girl. The dancer died, and Aurangzeb made a vow never to drink wine again nor to listen to music. In after-days he was accustomed to say that God had been very gracious to him by putting an end to that dancing-girl’s life, by reason of whom he had committed so many iniquities, and had run the risk of never reigning through being occupied in vicious practices.”

Im new and here's a first post talking about how Sam deserves to be with his space fam ( this is Marvel related btw)
The MCU has been not so gud lately, I don't think u need ANOTHER person saying that. But just like everyone else I do think that the new Guardians of the Galaxy movie is SO FUCKING GOOOD. And it got me realise something, other then the fact that I didn't realise how much of a fan I was of the Guardians, I ALSO realise that there isn't any fanfiction with Sam Alexander with any of the Guardians. If you don't know who Sam is he is the 2nd Nova in the Comics while Richard is the first. U can do ur research I'm not really here to summarise his character but he does technically interact with them in the comics, and the Ultimate Spider - man cartoon and Guardians of the Galaxy cartoon, there are more interactions that he has with them. And I honestly think he would have an interesting dynamic with them and adds something to the group, u know being the only kid in the group. But I see on AO3, there's barely ANY fanfics of him with them if not at all and I see this as a federal crime. How dare u people not do anything with this? There's so much potential, hell try making a fanfic that maybe inserts him in the MCU somehow or how he fits in the group literally ANYTHING GOOD MY SON HAS SO MUCH TO ADD. Look maybe I'm asking for too much, plus Richard is a lot more interesting as a character but STILL. IM GOING ABSOLUTELY FERAL KNOWING THAT THERES BARELY A TINY SALT OF CONTENT OF SAM AND THATS JUST A HATE CRIME AGAINST HIM. ALSO ALSO HE DESERVES HIS BESTIES MILES AND KAMALA TOO, YEP, THATS RIGHT IM GETTING THEM INVOLVED TOO. Imagine the trio discussing their families and then we have Sam, who not only has a mom and a sister, BUT A MCFREAKING SPACE FAM CONSISTING OF A TALIING TREE, A GUN SHOOTING RACCON, AND ASSASSIN WHOS THE MOST DEADLIEST WOMAN IN THE GALAXY, A QUOTE ON QUOTE DESTROYER AND A PIRATE/ CRIMINAL. The reaction to that would just be so-
So uhmm, I'm yeah case in point Sam deserves more Fanart and Fanfic with his Space family and Miles and Kamala ( or boyfriend and girlfriend-) and he deserves to be in the MCU to share Saif dynamics with said characters.
Note: so if there is any updates about, you know, fanfiction related to my boy Sam with his Space Fam let me know please, I beg.

Two men have been jailed for raping three young girls at house parties they threw for "vulnerable youngsters" in Plymouth in December 2017.
Abalzaq Salih, 31, from Plymouth, was given a 19-year sentence for two counts of rape of two victims.
Saif Kahya, 32, from Liverpool, was given 12 years for the rape of another teenager.
Sentencing at Plymouth Crown Court, Judge Peter Johnson said the case had "brought back extremely painful memories" for those involved and it took "commendable inner strength" for them to come forward.
The court heard how the pair had given the girls, who were aged 16 and under at the time, drugs and alcohol at parties they had thrown.
Devon and Cornwall Police said the abuse came to light after a girl came forward and gave key evidence to police after she watched the BBC drama Three Girls, which described a high-profile investigation in Rochdale.
In August, Salih was convicted of two counts of rape of a female aged 15 or under.
Saif Kahya, 32, from Liverpool, was found guilty of one count of rape of a female aged 16 or over.
At the sentencing, prosecutor Dan Pawson-Pounds read out statements prepared by the victims.
'Damaged and sullen'
One of the girls, who was 14 when she was raped by Salih, said afterwards she felt "dirty" and as if he had "taken away my childhood innocence".
In her statement, she said: "I can't control when I'm reminded of what he did to me. It's a memory I will never forget and have no control of. It's changed my life forever.
"I live with what he did to me every day in the back of my mind."
His second victim, who was also 14 at the time, said she felt "degraded".
She said: "I need to move forward and need the success of my life I always wanted.
"I won't let him stop me. I hope he knows he's changed my life forever."
Mr Pawson-Pounds also read out a statement from the then 16-year-old victim of Kahya.
She said: "Being raped isn't something I will learn to live with."
The court heard how she became a "recluse", she was once "bubbly and outgoing" but turned "damaged and sullen".
'Lying fluently'
Mitigating, lawyers for the two men, Ali Rafati and Hollie Gilbery, said the pair had no previous convictions.
They added both had lived in the community for seven years after the offence and there had been no reoffending.
Judge Johnson said to Salih and Kahya: "Your lies were exposed for being utterly ridiculous.
"You have been lying fluently not only in interview but also under oath.
"You tried to deny the undeniable."
He also commended the witnesses and victims and said they "showed the most enormous courage and determination to see justice done".
