Unpopular opinion but I VASTLY prefer art of the characters as their actual bird selves to anime boy art. I'm into HB for the world building and how the human x bird logistics play out (and that sweet sweet lifespan difference) I do not care about the pretty anime boys doing anime boy things.
#titi talks#hatoful boyfriend#it's one of the reasons i never got into the later stuff#WHERE is hiyoko WHAT HAVE YOU DONE WITH HER#she didn't go Through All That just to be ignored by the fanbase#my beloved hunter gatherer and her funny ape affection towards these rather large birds#like FINALLY an otome protagonist with a lil personality! (even if the game was originally meant as a joke lol)#obviously this is not to shit on the people who are in it for anime boy action#but i love the stupid bird shit like Bean Day#ALSO I GOT OVER MY FEAR OF BIRDS IN ORDER TO BE IN THIS FANDOM#I LEARNED HOW TO DRAW BIRDS TO BE HERE

Danganronpa Characters Watching a Move (at the cinema)
Eats all their food before the movie starts:
Akane - Foodie
Aoi - No self control when it comes to food
Hiro - Somehow accidentally eats it all
Kaito - Trips while walking up the stairs and spills it everywhere.
Nagito - Eats it during the trailers
Cries when the supporting character/animal dies:
Chihiro - Cries when the dog dies
Gundham - Also cries when the dog dies
Himiko - ALSO cries when the dog dies
Kaede - "They were such a supportive character *sniff, sob*"
Mikan - (She cried because the opening was too loud)
Peko - She cried when the dogs were separated in the street
Sakura - "What a loyal character"
Sonia - Cries when the dog dies
Monomi/Usami - "They didn't deserve that" <- Animal and Character
Nekomaru - "They took one for the team... that's loyalty... *sniffling*"
Throws Popcorn/Food at People:
Fuyuhiko - He hits the couple infront of him while they're kissing
Hiyoko - She dumps it on the people being too loud and laughs at them
Kokichi - Throws from far away, Kaito gets blamed and escorted out
Leon - Incredible accuracy, hits the screen when the characters talk, often lands "in their mouths"
Mondo - Throwing popcorn with Leon, missing most of the time, but still having fun.
Monotaro - Dumps it all on his siblings
Gets kicked out of the cinema:
Junko - Already got a permanent ban from it, escorted out on sight.
Kazuichi - Somehow accidentally does something really bad and has to be escorted out, he leaves with Kaito.
Mukuro - Saw the prices of her favourite slushie go up by 50c and threatened the cashier with a hunting knife.
Teruteru - He was innapropriate to the female worker/s.
Monokuma - Escorted out on sight, left right after sneaking in with Junko.
Talking the Whole Time (mostly gets popcorn thrown at them):
Angie - I don't know why, but I think she would.
Ibuki - Extremely loud and constantly gets "shushed"
Hifumi - Rambles about the actors and their voice overs in different anime.
Sayaka - Accidentally unaware, always notices easter eggs
Kiyotaka - Unaware socially and doesn't realise it's wrong
Tenko - Screams at the screen whenever a male comes on, gets shushed constantly and is escorted out to the lobby to wait for the movie to finish.
Monokid - He's just really loud.
Watching the Movie in Peace:
Imposter/Twogami - He's chill about the movie, eats his food quickly and constantly gets up to get more.
Chiaki - Relaxing, fell asleep after the first song/instrumental
Kirumi - Picking up rubbish/popcorn from the floor to help the workers. Stays late to assist with cleanup.
Korekiyo - Occasionally comments, but enjoys the movie nevertheless.
Kyoko - Still and silent, making sligh "huh" "ohhh" noises when she realises plot twists are coming up.
Monodam - Tells everybody to get along, sits with Monomi/Usami and tells the people around him to shush.
Shuichi - Done with everybodies shit by the end, but tolerates it for the other viewers sakes'.
Rantaro - He got no development, I didn't know where to put him.
Ryoma - Sits at the front because he can't see over the seats, quiet and isn't bothered by the others.
Spoils it on Accident:
Keebo - "I read an online forum" and then spoils the majority of the movie.
Mahiru - Searched all the actors on IMDB, watched trailers, found many full movie essay reviews on the movie before buying tickets, went on rotten tomatos for reviews. She wanted to get her moneys worth!
Makoto - Already seen it before because it was trending a week prior, accidentally spoils it but the people next to him don't mind.
Tsumugi - Got spoilers by Mahiru, was already in the fandom, came in cosplay and spoiled a bunch of it while rambling.
Gonta - "Gonta heard (spoils entire plot, then starts talking about the bee movie)"
Monophanie - "Hm I watched a movie like this... (<- It was the movie they were watching and she spoiled it all.)
Hajime - "Oh no... I'm a failure!" "Yes Hajime, a reserve course student hanging out with the Ultimates... you should be a stepping stone!" (<- He then gets mad at Nagito and spoils it to him purposefully, others hear though.)
Spoils it on Purpose:
Byakuya - Ruins the fun for his own enjoyment
Monosuke - Just wants to be annoying
Celestia - Somebody annoyed her because they took too long to order tickets, she got mad and spoiled it for the rest of the cinema loudly when she walked out of the movie.
Miu - Does it for shits and giggles
Toko - Depending on her mood. She gets mad at somebody next to her and yells at them.
Maki - Was in a bad mood when she walked in, only spoiled it because Kaito was escorted out due to Kokichis bad behaviour.

Welcome everyone to my Dog-aronpa show!! Where I start with DR2 instead of DR1 because I simply do not have the list ready for that one game! And Techinical issues are all in and can't draw the line up at the moment (it will be done)
I want to show off my enormous dog knowledge for no reason at all!
Hajime Hinata is a...Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever (long ass name) or at least looks like one..In fact, he is just a very mixed dog that happened to look like the Red Duck dog and has a similar personality to one which is alert and can very well get mental issues easily if left behind for too long, they only howl (on average) when they are on a hunt however dogs don't hunt nowadays and since this is a snow dog and I can't own one I cant test it out.
Chiaki Nanami is a....Clumber Spaniel
They are low energy, they have rosy features. You yourself can read more about it, I am not an expert on them but as far as I have seem very Chiaki to me
Teruteru Hanamura is a...Griffon Bruxellois
These dogs have long beards for some reason I love them for that, they don't really realize their doggy size much like other toy breeds (My children are the same) this is a bit important you know (chapter 1). They are sociable at a certain point, but they lose their temper very easily when teased
Byakuya or the Ultimate impostor is a...Saluki
The most expensive and harshest dog to train, they like soft objects and very picky..For impostor themselves, I think they should just shapeshift in this universe. I can't even begin;
Mahiru Koizumi is...English Cocker Spaniel
They are very easy to train dogs, they like birds (hunt them) when I see birds I remember of photos, they are usually very happy dogs but they do get anxious and aggressive if you aren't be present for long due to depression on being left alone, any dog breed can have that even if they are labeled as a friendly breed, like most beings on this planet they are shaped with their life. So Mahiru is a Cocker Spaniel
Peko pekoyama is a...Akita
Which felt most obvious, they are reserved and mostly guarding dogs, my family (Mom-side) owned an Akita she was very overly protective. That's mostly it I don't remember much.
Fuyuhiko Kuzuryu is a...Shiba Inu ...Mix with some small breed
I wanted to make them both Japanese breeds..You know the Yakuza it made sense in my head, but I couldn't find one with a slight yellowish coat and small like really small, you will get what I mean later. They are stubborn and strong-willed I have heard they are more a cat than a dog, and I truly believe they are staring at my soul...Maybe because they are more related to wolves than other dog breeds like Pugs That's just a theory I have heard though, I choose to not believe it because of its facial structure which isn't really harsh and this coat isn't related to most wolves.
Mikan Tsumiki is a... Saint Bernard! (Also known as my dream dog)
They are medical assistants sometimes, they are gentle giants they just don't kill you because they are too ❤ but Mikan killed so that's a loss..It would be despairing to see a dog like this kill so I believe I made the right choice
Ibuki Mioda is...A siberian Husky
Sh...I know the snow dog but they howl a lot, its fine for her to be that breed they are absolutely pathetic..I mean that with so much love. She got expelled from her band because she howled the wrong tune, always, all the time, on purpose even.
Hiyoko Saionji is a...Afghan Hound
Why she isn't small- Shut up she literally has a growth spurt that's the whole point: making her bigger than Fuyuhiko!! They aren't very affectionate but they are very loyal!! they are also very stylish dogs (the hears match her ponytails, she can even tie up them later but you would have to see if it is fine for a dog like this since it could cause ear infections)
THE OVERLORD OF ICE GUNDHAM TANAKA IS....ANNN ALASKAN MAMUTE BECAUSE HE IS THE OVERLORD OF ICE I KNOW WE HAVE TWO HUSKY TYPES HERE BUT I DO NOT CARE!!! THEY ARE STRONGWILLED!! THEY ARE ALSO FRIENDLY!! (I EXPECT THAT FROM ONE DOG THAT TAKES CARE OF HAMSTERS)
they also sometimes have heterochromia but you have to breed them a certain way and since he is the ultimate breeder may as well he be breed a way he looks the closest to canon.
Nekomaru Nidai is an Boxer
They have been reported of being easily having heart issues, they are guard dogs and reported a slight aggression but its expected of guarding breeds, if trained to be at home they are very friendly like Nekomaru its supposed to be they are honest and loyal, they are very bright would to the family who adopted it and they can be actually very clingy at home, wary on the streets. The dogs have to be kept always on a line between vet and affection and introducing them to other dogs would be ideal, Nekomaru would be a very sociable Boxer so I believe his owners treated him well and were aware of these facts
Nagito Komaeda is a...Borzoi
And everyone saw this coming, these things should NOT be that tall I swear if a child can mount on it Why is it a dog and why I am so obsessed over it like any other dog, they normally don't go for the typical dog training since they get bored very easily of it, they are very active and like fields..They CAN be very stubborn but are sweethearts depending on your method of training and getting close to it, Nagito can be stubborn too like in chapter 4 and when he refuses to cooperate when the trial could be faster if he put the stuff on the table, but I love him anyway just like Borzois he is confusing they are confusing together.
Sonia nevermind is a... Corgi
Do you see why I was so worried about Fuyuhiko? She is shorter than him in this alternative universe, and I HAD to pic a corgi for her since the royal family of the United Kingdom as far as I have heard owns Tons of those and I simply had to. Unlike other dogs on this list Corgis arent shy at all!
Kazuichi Soda is a ...Jack Russell
I had to pick this one since they are very lovable but will be absolutely sad if it isn't reciprocated, in a dog festival I saw one old man that refused to play with a Jack Russell and the dog was just hiding from his owner because he got rejected by a stranger, its not a universal experience (and dog festivals have been extinct since quarantine in here) so Kazuichi soda is a Jack Russell probably shorter than Fuyuhiko too, Jack Russel markings also make me need less ways to figure out how he dyed his hair, its just his markings he can cover the black parts with a hat
Akane Owari is a...Dachshund
Pomodoro why you picked a small breed? Akane owari jumps high and is agile. I SAY WITH EXPERIENCE TO NOT JUDGE A BOOK BY ITS COVER THEY ARE SO ACTIVE ITS INSANE, my cousin owns one and since she doesn't take care of it I have to play with it and boy this dog takes a while to get tired and it FIGHTS you when you try to leave and there was once I said ''oh time for lunch I will leave'' and he jumped so high I am 1,70-1,75 ish and the dog just bit my nose I wasn't even crouching I was actually pretty much standing and my nose hurt for the whole day, the breed refuses commands for the most time and they DO bite furniture they are indeed very hungry
That's it I actually erased some thoughts because they went on and on I have this problem :(

Hi hi!! I have a request if you’re up for it :]
Maybe hiyoko with a shy s/o? (Shy in the “quiet/listens rather than speaks” way, not in the “anxious mess (Mikan)” way, if that makes sense ^^)
Tysm if you do this!! Keep being wicked you fell demon <33
Apologies for the wait! I had been struck down with a curse of the fabled blue screen of death. The only remedy to such a curse was to empty the dark depths of my wallet. Fear not, as I have returned from the pits of hell to write once more!
Enjoy, my fallen angel!
-Overlord of Ice, Mod Gundham
Opposites are definitely attracting here. Hiyoko is loud, crude, and excitable. While most would say your calming personality could try and calm her down, it’s actually the opposite. When she’s with you, she gets energetic. She’ll tease you and prod at you to try and get a reaction.
If you’re not the affectionate type, that’s okay. Hiyoko’s clinginess is enough for the two of you. She’s a big fan of jumping on your back no matter what you’re doing. There are times where she’ll tell you to lean down for a kiss, just for her to bop you on the head instead.
In front of others, she’ll love to make fun of you as if you’re the one that hangs off of her. “They may be quiet but they’re actually a total pervert when we’re alone!” None of your classmates really believe her.
You love to listen and Hiyoko loves to talk. She’ll tell you about anything: her dance recitals, badmouthing your classmates, anything that comes to mind. Hiyoko loves to sit in your lap while she gossips. Her hand will be deep in a bag of gummies while she rests against your chest.
While she does tease you, and borderline humiliates you, she’ll put you on a pedestal above your other classmates. In her eyes, you could truly do no wrong. She’s a small yet fierce guard dog. She’ll make sure to uplift you while berating anyone else.
If you ever seem like you have something to say, but can’t speak up over someone else’s voice, she will make sure you’re heard personally. “Hey! Shut your waste of space mouth! Your breath is stinking up the air.” She would cling onto your arm with a big childish smile. “(Name), didn’t you have something to say?”
During the killing game, she’s glued to your hip. Even though she acts big and bad, Hiyoko is scared of both losing her life or yours. Hiyoko practically moves into your cottage. There is no more privacy, you can’t even shower by yourself. If you don’t already know how, you’ll have to learn how to tie her kimono for her.
Hiyoko will vouch for you during trials and investigations. With your keen listening skills, you’re bound to find something out but you might not have the courage to speak up. If you wanted, she’d relay the information to the others. Not for them, but for your skills to be recognized.
Due to your quiet nature, you’re often a main suspect in trials. If Hiyoko was busy on the day of a murder, you might be without an alibi. Worry not, as Hiyoko will be your biggest defender. Hajime is at his wits end as he’s called vulgar names one after another. No one gets a chance to speak as she wails about your innocence.
Even if you were to murder someone, she would always be by your side.
“(Name), you’re the only one that could’ve done it.” A spotlight shines down on you as Hajime speaks. All eyes were on you. Frankly, you didn’t know what to say. What were you supposed to say while backed into a corner?
Fuyuhiko kissed his teeth, rolling his eyes. “You’re being accused of murder, and you still can’t speak up? How stupid can you be?”
You open your mouth, trying to formulate anything coherent. Before you could say anything, a shrill cry echoed through the trial room.
“Waaaah! You stupid pigshits are picking on them! They would never commit murder!” Hiyoko slams her small fists against the podium. “Why couldn’t you be the victim, Hajime?”
Ignoring the death threat, Hajime explains his reasoning. “It could only be them. They were the only one on the second island with no alibi.”
“Shut up!” Hiyoko was clenching the wood so tight her knuckles were turning white. “I was with them, dumbass! So how about you kneel down and apologize to them like a good mutt!”
With a point of his finger, Hajime shot down that lie. “No, that’s wrong! Nagito said he saw you at the beach right before the body discovery announcement. You wouldn’t have had time to meet up with them before the time of death.”
Hot tears pooled down her cheeks. Hiyoko knew the truth. She knew you were guilty. She didn’t want to face the truth. You weren’t supposed to leave her side. “You’ll trust that nasty perv to be honest? You’re a fucking idiot-!”
“Hiyoko.” Your quiet voice reached her ears. She looked at you like a deer in headlights, her body shaking. “That’s enough. It’s over.”
“O-over…” Her bottom lip quivers, snot threatening to pool from her nose. “Why are you giving up? Tell them you didn’t kill that stupid whore. Tell them you didn’t do anything wrong, you moron!”
Walking over to her podium, you take her into your arms. She fights back for a moment, slamming her fists into your chest.
“I’m sorry, Hiyoko.”
“Shut up!” Hit! “Shut up!” Hit. “Shut uh-uuuuppp!” She slumps into you, sobbing her heart out.

Who do u think copes with being a remnant the best/worst during. Despair times?
Best:
Peko- she is only doing the bidding she deems necessary, it's out of her hands. She will do bad things for the sake of her own duty.
Fuyuhiko- he always knew what he was capable of and how he would turn out. It's about time he becomes the man he was supposed to be and embraces it without remorse, there was never any other path for him.
Mikan: she's not so helpless and frail anymore, is she? Her turn to have the power. People need her when she wants them to need her.
Hiyoko: People are really just large ants when you think about it. She could've been one of them but she rose above it. Squish.
Nagito: just a means to an end.
50/50:
Mahiru- she hasn't done anything wrong. It's just photography and documentation without getting involved. She hasn't actually done *anything*.
Souda- all he does is make the machines. Other people tell him when and where to deploy. He's too weak to stand up for himself.
Teruteru: No wasting food, even if it's unethically sourced! It's less slaughter, more scavenging. Ethical.
Akane: the strong prey on the weak. That's what they did to me and no one stopped them, so this is just how it goes, right?
Sonia: a Princess knows what's best and does not doubt or go back on her decisions. A Princess knows pawns don't matter compared to a queen. A Princess doesn't feel remorse or guilt or uncertainty.
Worst:
Nekomaru- he's supposed to be helping people be their best and come together.
Impostor: no matter how many people they are, they know what's right, deep down.
Ibuki: she knows who she is and no one will make her into anyone else! ... right?
Gundham: humans are the ones who mistreat animals, but they behave the same in extreme distress. He forgets which he is, but there's no difference in the end.
Izuru: The absolute total absence of Feeling is worse than being miserable, actually. Countless lives are a featherweight against their own moment of humanity however brief. Anything to feel anything.
#There's a longer ask I'm working on about how despair works#But this is a glimpse into it I guess? Just shrugging off the human responsibility and indulging in your dark parts#Assuming someone else will pick up the slack. Or otherwise dillydallying long enough that you're just as culpable#We're pondering tonight boys#not an art

Makoto knew that Shuichi was too much of a pussy to ever do anything to Kaede. So when Makoto goes to Kaede's music room and sees that her rear end is exposed to him from picking up some music sheets she dropped. He decides to rearrange her organs with his massive cock and rearranging her pussy and a hole that Shuichi never touched, her asshole.
Makoto came into the music room to listen to Kaede's music… but he got a front row seat to her sizable ass, she was reaching for something way underneath the piano and was completely mooning Makoto. Makoto knew Shuichi didn't really satisfy Kaede, at least not in ways he could~ so that's the justification he used when he walked over and spanked Kaede with his ENORMOUS lucky rod getting hard as he let it hang out of his pants. “Hey! What the-” Kaede was alarmed as she turned around quickly to see it face first, that huge cock and Makoto smiling sweetly.
Makoto groped Kaede's tits madly as he made out with her, it was surprisingly easy to make Kaede forget Shuichi. Though she was more focused on Makoto's now fully erect mass of cock, she had stripped down to her panties and bra while Makoto had gone shirtless. “Makoto maybe we should head to my room or-” SMACK another spank to her ass from Makoto who was oddly quiet “We’re doing it here because this is where you made me hard ok?” Kaede nodded as Makoto ripped off her panties and pinned her to the ground for the mating press of her life.
Makoto was ruthless as he fucked her hard and fast making the pianist scream melodically like Sayaka so often would for him~ Maybe Makoto had a thing for musical girls? He wondered if he should talk to Ibuki, or maybe even Hiyoko since she was a dancer~ Hell why even stick to the arts? Makoto's ravenous hunger made his imagination go wild as he imagined what he COULD do as he slammed Kaede's pussy into his own cock stuffer. Kaede's pussy was forever turned into Makoto's, but he had one more present for Kaede~ SPURT as he came inside her, filling her womb with more cum than Shuichi had in his many times of fucking Kaede. Each drop was more fertile than Shuichi's whole load~
Makoto pulled out of Kaede still rock hard, Kaede however was lost in pleasure as cum cascaded out of. Makoto picked up Kaede who drunk like leaned against the piano as Makoto began to tease her ass. “Makoto- Shuichi never used that sp-” SMACK to her ass as he began to fuck her ass rapidly “That's the point, I need to stretch out both of your holes~” Kaede was a drunken mess again slobbering all over the top of her Piano which she would have to clean later. Makoto kept slamming her ass for a couple hours till he finally gave up his load inside her, watching her lean over the piano and use it to catch her breath. Makoto however had simply pulled up his pants and left… well not before taking a picture and giving that ass one more SPANK
Later that night, after Makoto had gotten done fucking his girlfriends Sayaka and Kyoko, he had gotten a text from Kaede with her showing her nude ass next to a sleeping Shuichi with his tiny cock out with a caption that read “I just got done with this boy, will you show me how a MAN does it~” Makoto knew he wasnt nearly done fucking that night~

So you ask, and so I shall answer!! (Literally tysm because MM Mikan is one of my fav parts of this AU)
One of my major gripes with Mikan in SDR2 was that, for all the game's intention with her and her breakdown about being done putting up with people's hypocrisy, there's never really a point in which she gets to grow from it. There's no agency in her story at any point, which is something I feel she could have and should have had to make her story as an imperfect victim that much more impactful. Even when she is lashing out, she's doing so because some other abuser is telling her to, and she doesn't get to be explored beyond being the sexy victim that's just a little fucked up (in a sexy way ofc). She just is there, then she's there but mad, then she's there in the prequel, then we jump cut to get being perfectly fine and redeemed and acting the exact same way she did before Junko, implying that there was no need for her to stand up for herself because Hiyoko treats her the exact same and Mikan takes it the exact same way. Every important part of her arc is offscreen, and I felt like that was a waste
MM Mikan is basically her swan diving off the deep end. She enters a school full of people who are supposed to be society's best only to once again be faced with bullying and indifference. Once again, she is only seen when she is useful. Once again, she is only seen when she is mocked. Once again, she is at the mercy of the attention spans of those around her, and so she snaps. One day, after treating Makoto for another klutzy moment of poor luck, they find common ground on being generally clumsy. Makoto, in all his general positivity, actually sits with her and listens to her. He's nice to her. And it's genuine; Makoto isn't a pure evil, nor is he trying to burn everything surrounding him. He just wants to keep living. He perseveres. So he and Mikan end up working together and create anarchy, where only those who persevere can survive
Mikan drags her classmates into anarchy with a brainwashing technique they stole in the hopes that they'd finally join her and be equals, only for them to resent her with what will they have left. So when Chihiro creates the Neo World program, she comes out of hiding and helps the FF find her classmates one by one, with the help of Izuru Kamakura ofc (but he's his own post). They then use the Mono-bug to twist the program into a killing game that they'll all participate in together. It reverts all of them back to the day they first met, and Mikan hopes that all of them meeting for the first time for the second time will give them a blank slate, and that going through the kg will make them bond. That after everything she's done, she just wants to be forgiven, but can't fathom forgiveness, so she must erase what happened and put them all on the same level
MM Mikan gets a redemption free with purchase, which would start at the end of SDR2 and would come full circle within DR3. When the rest of the class remembers everything, they remember not only the horrible things they were made to do, but the things they chose to do. No one from SDR2 is truly innocent (except for traitor!Nekomaru. Again, a separate post for later) and even if none of them were actively bullying Mikan like say, Hiyoko was, all of them let it happen. So in that final trial, they don't just forgive themselves; for the second time in her life, Mikan is extended a hand. For the first time, it doesn't come with conditions. And within the time spent with the SDR2 survivors in DR3, she'd struggle to reaffiliate herself to the cast and vice versa, as well as use her medical knowledge to try and repair or at least rehabilitate the damages she'd some to people
@popatochsp tag since you were the one to ask lol

Yeah Hiyoko, you can learn to be a better mother for your daughter. You just need to stay with us to do.
...But where am I supposed to go? I have nowhere I can stay.
A-And it doesn't change the fact that-
Hiyoko-san? Can I share something else with you?
Wh-What?
A lot's happened in the last year. Obviously, you know this. And yeah, some of my memories aren't what they should be, courtesy of Shirogane. That was part of her plan.
But when Chiaki stole money from us? That wasn't something we can blame on our enemy. That was her decision, to help fund this operation. And yeah, that really did hurt our relationship.
But that doesn't mean I don't still love her. Not even close. It's something we've had to work on. What I really wish she'd done is just told me about all this, so we could help.
Hindsight's 20/20. We've all done a lot of stupid, terrible things...
But you did great things too. Don't forget that.
And you can all learn from all this. I think this is a good opportunity for you to start deciding on your own identity, away from your family.

Sato defence thread
I know nobody gaf about her, but the few that do despise her ass, so I made up my mind and decided to write a defence post abt her. So, without further ado... Why Sato is a more complex character than you think:
For starters, who in the world is Sato? That's probably a question 90% of all Dangan fans ask when they see me talking about her. So ill give a little background information to inform you/remind you who she is.
Sato is a minor character whom was introduced in Danganronpa 2, Chapter's 2 motive, Twilight Syndrome Murder Case as Girl E. She is known to be friends with Mikan, Hiyoko, Ibuki and most importantly, Mahiru.
But what she is more known for is being the culprit of Natsumi Kuzuryu's murder, the little sister of Fuyuhiko Kuzuryu. And its what most people point to when criticizing Sato and her behaviour towards her, most of the time saying Sato was fully in the wrong.
But I'm here to prove, or at least try to, that while murder wasn't the way to handle it, Sato had all the right to behave the way she did towards her. But before I start, I just want to clarify that I don't hate Natsumi, but it doesn't excuse her behaviour towards Sato and Mahiru.
When people blame Sato, they usually go ahead and say that her motive is weak as hell, saying that she is a generic, heartless yandere whose only reasoning is "I love Mahiru!" But that just isn't true, she has much more complexity and issues that people dismiss:
People have kind of forgotten that, despite Natsumi's and Hajime's conversation that showed a weaker side of her character, she was still not an angel. Its shown in the anime that she constantly bullied both Sato and Mahiru, and this is very clearly backed up in episode 3 where she intentionally provokes Sato to start a fight over with her. I mean, there is no way she didn't intend that.
Plus, this bullying can be dated to as far back as the photography club, I'm guessing that's like, around a year or more. So it isn't a recent thing she could just ´ignore´ like most people say, because I'm genuinely sick and tired of people saying that, like, if they met before hopes peak, then I can guarantee you that she has probably tried that before and ultimately fail. Either because Natsumi doesn't stop herself, or she genuinely cant mentally drown her our.
EVEN THEN, this is still not everything she has done, because there is still one more, pretty major thing Natsumi has done constantly to both, threatening to kill them. Ok, before anyone goes ahead and says something like "But those threats are empty! She didn't actually mean it, she is just mad". Put yourself in Sato's shoes first:
Imagine the daughter of one of, if not the biggest Yakuza clan in Japan says she will kill you to your face. I don't know about you all but id be shitting my pants and leave the country if I ever heard that. Not to mention she is also threating my best friend?
And its not like she just based it off of a simple word, she quite literally has physical evidence to prove that Natsumi, in her eyes, does not fuck around. I'm talking about the scar she gave her back in the photography club. After Natsumi and Sato had a fight, its said some men went ahead and scarred her arm.
In general the scar serves as a great way to remind Sato that "if you don't protect Mahiru, they might do something to her, they have done it to you before"
(BONUS)
Please note that, while I may have come as extremely harsh and rude on Natsumi's behalf, this is not a hate post. She is in fact a great character too, and I highly recommend checking this thread that explores her character in great detail. https://x.com/CHISALOVEBOT/status/1735610111245095022
Now, another reason as to how people misinterpret Sato and her motive is her relationship with Mahiru, her best friend. Now I'm not going to argue that she wasn't the reason to why Sato did what she did, in fact, Id argue its her biggest and most important reason for her. But what I'm trying to argue here is that it wasn't (just) because of "love"
I don't know about you all, but i find it very clear to me that Sato is not mentally stable, and this is most prominently shown when she shares her scenes with Mahiru, and how being with her has affected her psychologically.
lets talk about their first scene together, in which sato says, and I quote: "Mahiru, you're the hope of everyone in the Photography Club." At first glance, this sentence seems completely normal, but if you analyse just a little bit more, you will realize something odd... who the fuck unironically says this?
Even if its true that they are an Ultimate, one of the best at what they do. Going to extremes to say "hope" is... a bit overdue, especially speaking for everyone in the photography club. As seeing how the other reserve course students reacted when Mahiru came over, (though I do have to add it was because of Natsumi's comment) were not too sure if she truly meant everyone, or even anyone at all.
But, we can still tie this to her mentality of Mahiru, how? Well, when I said who unironically thinks this, there was an answer, and that my friends, is Nagito Komaeda.
Yes, i know, i seem crazy comparing Nagito and Sato, but think about it, they both have this support over hope, with both reminding the other ultimates that they are the "hope" of the world. Don't believe me? then look at this line said by Sato only a few seconds after the first one:
So in the end, she is not only referring to the photography club, she is also referring to the entire world. Now you could argue that she means this logically as once she graduates, her photos would probably spread around the world. But the fact that this comes right after her line about "hope" may have it signify otherwise.
Though this isn't the only comparison you can actually make between the two, as I've recently discovered that their views on the reserve course and talent are pretty darn similar too! Of course they show this in different ways.
What do I mean by this? We all know Nagito's certain distain for non-talented people right? and how only those can be born with a talent? What if i told you, this also is the case for Sato, only of course, to a lesser extent.
During the fight with Natsumi, Sato states that since the main course didn't scout her, she should give up since she had no talent and that she should "know her place" You guys see what I'm talking about?
Sato saying to know her place pretty much means she knows her role in the overall school of the academy, she is only there to support the Ultimates, be a stepping stone.
(BONUS)
Ok but like I generally find the idea of a conversation between Nagito and Sato be pretty hilarious, with Nagito going over the usual reserve shit and Sato's like "Ok that was pretty rude, you could have toned it down a little... But you're not wrong either."
Sato's sprites:
Anyways, back to my point. But then, why does Sato act like this, Is there a reason for it? And that's where good ol' Hopes Peak Academy comes in:
Its no secret that Hopes Peak does not care for its reserve course students, seeing as they just swooped both Natsu's and Sato's deaths under the rug.
Another thing that they like to do is remind them of this nonstop, where as would be with Main Course students like Nagito 24/7, Juzo when Hajime confronts him. Or other, more indirect forms.
These guys clearly think of talent and hope being the priority, then the rest after it. And Sato is a victim of this type of mentality, she puts down Natsumi and her wish constantly because she's thinking the way hopes peak wants everyone else to think. She praises Mahiru and calls her "her hope" because she is meant to be a stepping stone for the Main Course.
Now here comes a little bit of theorizing, but it will make sense trust me: This mentality has been driven so far into her brain, that it seems like a lot of the actions she takes, she always excuses it as "what Mahiru wants"
for example, every time she's arguing Natsumi, she always goes ahead and claims if she does something to Mahiru, she will not let her get away with it. Notice how its always Mahiru and not her? She quite literally cares for Mahiru's safety over her own.
(BONUS)
Can I just please gush about the genius way they made the Natsumi and Sato conflict work so well with their beliefs? Like they are quite literally the humanization of what the one of them thinks of the other:
Natsumi hates people that seem to have given up and not try to join the Main Course. Sato is someone who represents that by putting down others for them to 'give up'.
Sato hates people that don't know their place and think they can do more than what they can chew. Natsumi is someone who is openly stating to trying to join the main course as the 'Ultimate Little sister'
But, you may be wondering, "well if she cares so much about Mahiru, then what about the others? She never mentions Mikan, Hiyoko nor Ibuki in any way"
And here's were her motive becomes more complex, as I personally believe that her personality around Mahiru is more than just a Nagito complex. I'm going to throw the idea that Mahiru is pretty much the only thing from keeping Sato from quite literally existing. Yeah, depressing, right? But hear me out:
When I tell you that her first anime appearance wasn't when she slammed Hajime's desk, then what do you think it is? I bet almost none of you would have said this scene right here.
FYI, this scene plays right before Natsumi talks to Hajime about always looking out of the Main Course. (Special Thanks to @kousaka-erena for telling me abt this scene btw)
But, how does this scene signify my extremely absurd comment? You may ask. Well, lets take away our attention from Sato for a bit to look at the rest of the reserve students around her.
Notice how all of them seem to be having a conversation, or at least be with another student? Even though we cant confirm that all of these people are friends, per say. We can confirm that they are at least able to talk with one another.
Now look back at Sato, none of them are even looking at her direction, they don't even care about her. Not to mention that this is not a one off thing, she is never even seen interacting with any of the reserve course students aside from the other two.
In fact, I'm going to throw around the idea that the reserve course might actually hate her, or at least have some sort of distain. Probably from the fact that she's friends with an Ultimate.
The students are probably jealous by the fact she is able to talk to someone from the Main course. So in return, they don't talk to her out of jealousy, which in turn probably makes her time away from Mahiru extremely difficult for her.
The worst thing is that I would have glossed over this if it weren't for the fact she was in THAT position. While you could argue they did this with a writing perspective, so that they don't reveal her face until their reveal.
But if it really were the case, then why did they opt to specifically do it like this? Wouldn't it have been actually easier to just animate her with her back towards the screen talking to other students? So I believe they they had a little more in mind when drawing her here.
But, what about her other Main Course friends, Wouldn't you also count them in? Here's the thing though, apart from the Twilight Syndrome Murder Case game, do we ever see them interact? I mean, none of the 3 never seemed to really go ahead and visit her when they had the chance.
Sure, they are still seen together in the game, but how close are they really to each other? To be honest, Mikan, Hiyoko, Ibuki and Sato only seem to be friends because of proximity with Mahiru more than anything else. So I doubt Sato would have strong feelings for them either.
Like sure, she probably still respects them because they are still ultimates and all, and I'm sure she still considers them closer than anyone else, but just not by much.
And I think this loneliness also overall leaks its way into her treatment of Mahiru, with the way she feels the need to protect her at all costs, to praising her to none ends, to even hiding vital information from her:
When I'm talking about the ladder, I'm referring to Sato's and Mahiru's final scene together, which is infamously know as the retcon of Mahiru's involvement in TSMC, while I personally don't mind the retcon as much as others, Its still a blow to Mahiru's character and what she stands for in DR2.
But, lets put that aside, as were not here to talk about that. Lets instead talk about how this scene, despite not being great for Mahiru's character, is brilliant for Sato and how much she is willing to go to protect her.
So, we know how in the original TSMC, Sato immediately confesses her crime to Mahiru after being confronted. And while I can still see this in character, I much prefer her other interpretation.
In were, instead of confessing at all, she constantly hides the fact she murdered Natsumi and even reminds her how 'horrible' she was to the both of them.
Now, why do I generally find this better than the original? Because it shows you how fare she is willing to go to protect her, going as far as to hide the truth from her. The reason she does this is so that she doesn't get herself involved in it.
She even shows her the scar the Yakuza left her in her arm to gain pity and convince her to just leave the case alone. That's because she needs to protect her, just like she said before this scene.
Now of course you can always argue that Mahiru already knew about this and she just didn't tell her, but what's important is Sato herself couldn't know this, so she tried her best to not get her involved.
So, she is willing to go as far as to do this, for what? Well, I believe this goes back to the fact that Mahiru is her only true friend. She acts overprotective and obsessive over her because she doesn't want to lose her, she is afraid to.
As I've said before, Mahiru is the only thing she has left, its her only hope. So in return, she will do anything it takes for her to keep Mahiru by her side.
Now obviously, you can also deduce it to being, love, or something else. In fact, its been heavily implied that Sato is a Lesbian with the way she talks to Mahiru sometimes. But i personally found it to be this as there's just much more evidence supporting it.
(BONUS)
One thing that I also want to mention, but didn't find anywhere to fit this in, is when right after Mahiru leaves, her expression changes from a happy smile to a frown.
Which makes me thing she has also hidden her own emotions from her, maybe to not have her worry about her as she was probably told from Mahiru how her life at home is. Or it could also be that she hates lying to her. It can be anything really.
But, while this may be a lot, there is still one last push to try and convince you that she isn't your typical Cold, Heartless yandere you see the fandom depict her as: And that is she never intended to hurt Natsumi in the first place.
"But, you were literally just talking about her motives, what do you mean she didn't intend to kill her?" While yes, I did go ahead and explain her motives, I never said outright that it was to justify the death of Natsu.
In the motive, Sato says to Mahiru that she tried talking it out with Natsumi, but after another death threat from her yet again, Sato succumbed to her anger, and in a FIT OF RAGE, she strangled Natsumi to unconsciousness.
After calming down, she realised what she has done. In a state of fear and panic of the possibility of Natsumi waking up and having her send men to kill her and possibly do something to Mahiru, she kills her.
When people blame Sato, they usually say something along the lines of "omg! Sato is so dumb, why did she do that to Natsumi? Doesn't she know that the Yakuza would kill her?" And I can bet 10 bucks that these are the same guys that don't play the games.
Sato quite literally states she wasn't in her right mind when she strangled Natsumi. She was overcome by built up anger from years of bullying from her. Having those feelings closed up for so long will only make them come back stronger.
To be honest, its kind of weird to see this as Mondo Owada had a similar outcome with his murder, as he killed Chihiro in a state of anger. But one of them is regarded as sympathetic and the other a demon.
Of course its not the same, as Sato crime has two main differences that separate her from Mondo's crime. The first one being that Sato didn't kill her victim in her fit of rage, it was after.
And yeah, Sato killed her in her state of panic, which is actually pretty similar to both Sayaka Maizono's and Leon Kuwata's motive, both being scared and in a panic that they didn't think rationally and did some dumb moves.
I can see Sato in the same light as the other two, as the three of them were put in a situation where if they don't do something, a worse thing could happen to them. So thinking fast, they resorted to murder.
And the second reason, is that Mondo showed remorse for his actions, while Sato didn't... Or is at least what you'd expect from the outside. Because in my opinion, she is remorseful about her actions, she just doesn't show them.
A great example of this is the scene right after Mahiru leaves, in which Hajime confronts Sato about Natsumi. She starts of smug and states that she probably killed herself. Bur after Hajime states that she hadn't given up, her expression changes to an odd one you wouldn't expect.
Her face turn blue and she starts to state that he is wrong while she grabs and shakes her head in what seems to be in distress. So answer me this, would a person who is cold and heartless react like this?
Sure, you could argue that she is acting like this because she got caught and knows what's gonna happen to her. But I don't think that's the case, as we have seen her breaking down in that fashion before.
I'm referring to day 4, in which we see when Fuyuhiko kills Sato. She starts screaming for forgiveness while running away. And I don't know how to explain it or if its just me, but they feel different for some reason.
Like the one we see in Danganronpa 3 has more depth and a different reason for it. What do I mean by this? Well, this is purely a theory, but when sato started saying "You're wrong" she wasn't talking to Hajime, she was talking to herself.
She is trying to convince herself that she was right on killing Natsumi, trying to convince herself she did the right thing. That she's protecting Mahiru, but deep down, she probably regrets taking the life of another.
So in conclusion, Sato is more than just a 2-dimensional character with a complex motive. But since she isn't given a lot of screen time, she sadly gets thrown aside by the fandom. Which is something that I wish to change.
And that's everything I have that I can convince you all. If your opinion has changed about her, for the better or for the worse, then I'm glad I was able to change it!
If you guys have any criticism, like I yap too much or my points may not make sense, feel free to speak out and tell me, its my first time doing one of these and I'm open to change.
And if you liked my post, then feel free to follow me! I wont promise to make threads like these constantly, but I talk about Danganronpa a lot!
Uhh anyways, Sato is peak, the student council is peak, sato should join the student council and kiss every women in there, platonically and romantically. (Kisato my beloved)

So like are Soudaionji gonna talk now?
Honestly, knowing that we'll all be living together in a place like this feels unreal. Never thought I'd see the day.
Yeah, well, I bet you never thought you'd see the day where you got stuck in a death game and started living on a tropical island either, huh?
Heh! True enough!
*As everyone splits off to claim their rooms and decorate the old place, Kazuichi sticks with Hiyoko and helps her sort through her own luggage.
You're leaving a lot of space on this side of the room.
Yeah, well, I need to claim at least half the stuff so my roommate can claim the rest. I might have a lot of stuff, but I'm not selfish with my living quarters.
Have you decided who you wanna share with yet? Seiko seems like a pretty obvious choice now that she's here; since Mahiru's staying with Izuru.
Um...Thing is...I was actually wondering if maybe YOU wanted to stay here?
M-Me? But...I...A-Ain't that a problem?
Why would it be?
Well...First off, you're always talking about how bad I smell-
Because you do.
Are you screwing with me!? Ugh...Look, I just didn't think in a hundred years you'd be asking some jerk of a guy like me to be your roomate.
I think you already know why, don't you?
I-I...Uh...Yeah, I guess I do...Even I'm not that dense.
Neither of us have been very honest about how we feel, have we? We're not very good at that...haha...
Do you...remember that time I told you that as stupid and lame as you are, there was always gonna be someone out there who would end up falling for you? Well, turns out that someone is me. How stupid is that.
But...why...? You never say good things about me.
And yeah, I know you don't always MEAN the harsh things you say; it's all in good fun at the end of the day! But...I guess I just couldn't get myself to believe it...
That's the problem with you. You've lived your life having so many insults hurled at you that you can't believe it when someone actually likes you, be it romantic or not.
But even though everyone thinks you're a coward, the truth is you always try to fight off your own fear and help his classmates. Even during the Killing Game when you kept everyone at arm's length, you did so many things and tried so many times to stop people from getting hurt, like when you tied up Nagito, and when you built that communication device for the hospital.
Sure, they never really worked out, but that's not your fault. And even though you're usually distrustful, you were still trying to help out people who were basically complete strangers to you. I think that's worth something.
You're also smart, and kind to people, and help them with their problems, and you care about the people around you...In a way that...I've never been able to...
What are you talking about? Back when I met you, you were an insensitive, selfish little jerk! Look how far you've come since then! You've made amends with Mikan, and you've stepped up to solve the problems you can! Every single one of us was distraught when you died!
And I've done little to earn that...Even now, just randomly asking if you'll be with me is selfish and stupid...What I'm trying to say is that you don't need to earn my approval or anything Kazuichi.
I can only hope to earn yours with something other than my looks...
Hiyoko...I...I don't really know what to say that'd make you feel better about all of this...It almost sounds like you want me to reject you...
I'd prefer if you did...One way or another, I want to put these feelings aside. And I don't want my image of you to be shattered if you pick a shallow girl like me.
...Well, that's too bad.
W-WOAAGH!?
*Kazuichi suddenly pushes Hiyoko onto the bed.
Wh-What do you think you're-!?
*She halts as he suddenly hugs her.

Hit The Road Jack
A/N: Some spoilers on the 2nd and 3rd killing game, also sorry if this kind of sucks. I really wanted to post something so this might have been somewhat rushed and some spelling errors.
Plot: You cheated on them and They found out you were the culprit in a killing right after.
Characters being used: Hiyoko saionji, Shuichi Saihara
You and Hiyoko knew each other even before the killing game and were already quite close, But now the you two are stuck with each other in a killing game just brings you both even closer together.
You both started dating right after Teruteru death, you told Hiyoko how afraid you were about being next she assured you that she'll keep you safe and away from the rest of those what she calls "assholes"
The game continued on after Mahiru's death, You couldn't take it anymore. The fear of being next cornered you down so hard that you believed that no one here was trustworthy.
You distanced yourself from everyone even Hiyoko, she was worried about you but every time she tried to speak with you. you would tell her you that you wanted to be alone.
That went up for a while until she finally snapped back at you she went over to your dorm to speak with you regardless if you wanted to be alone on not, unfortunately for you, you didn't lock the door causing Hiyoko to walk in on both you and Mikan being together and kissing with one another.
Scene was so heartbreaking that all Hiyoko could do is cry and yell at you while causing out on Mikan at the same time, instead of trying to reassure her and telling Hiyoko is didn't mean anything you just told her that you didn't love her anymore and just stayed with her as to not make enemies and to not be alone. Your words hit her like a rock as she ran out your dorm in tears.
A few hours went by as Hiyoko stayed in her room majority of the day not many was worried for her since she usual was with you or doing her own thing. That's until the announcement went off letting there be know that a body has been found. Hiyoko didn't want to see anyone but she knew she'll be seen as suspicious if she didn't go and help investigate.
For some reason you weren't there for the investigate, of course she was curious why but after finding out that Mikan was the one who died she didn't think that you went down such a path, she didn't want to think of you regardless.
Time passed on and on the trial happened everyone was pointing fingers at could’ve done it until Hajime finally pointed his finger at you with all the evidence and proof. Hiyoko didn’t believe it but she also didn’t want to stick up for either so she voted for you like everyone else.
When Monokuma told everyone it was correct she couldn’t believe it, you scooped down that low just because you were scared of being next and ended up being the thing you were afraid of. Hiyoko didn’t watch your execution instead just wondering if that was the real you or did this killing game just get too deep into your head.
You two were together even before the killing game, and finding out that you were part of the killing game made him want to protect both you and Kaede even more.
You befriended Kaede as you and her became somewhat close friends, Shuichi was glad you were getting along with others but wanted you to stay away from the suspicious group of people mostly calling out Kokichi.
The killing didn't really scare you as much as Shuichi expected, but he's glad you're keep yourself calm and away from the thought of death. Both him and Kaede were looking for a way out of all this madness due to that Kaede ended meeting her fate, everyone was now on edge. This killing game is no joke after witnessing Kaede death.
Even you were on edge as well, Shuichi stayed by you're side the entire time. He lost Kaede and the last thing he'll ever want now it to lose you as well. During the time you befriended Kaito and Maki as there would time where you all would work out in the morning even in the evening together. But for some reason you started coming less and less to the workouts.
Both Shuichi and Kaito was getting worried about you, Maki just assumed you wanted to clear your mind from the killing game and honestly she doesn't blame you. But the more you didn't show up the most Shuichi got worried, you even stopped coming to breakfast or even skipped dinner. Thank god you didn't skip both in one day.
It was night and Shuichi couldn't get you off his mind, You completely stopped coming to workouts and most the time skipped breakfast and every time he tried to mention it you'll reassured him telling him you're fine but now you barley even hang out with him anymore at this point.
Not wanting to worry about this for long Shuichi got out of bed and went your dorm. He was going to knock on the door but he heard some noises coming from the dorm room, they weren't loud but when he pressed his ear against the door he could perfect understand what was going on in there. He now understood why you barley hung out with him anymore, why you don't come workouts. But it wasn't clear on why you would breakfast.
It didn't matter right now at the moment, Shuichi walked to his dorm room feeling sorrowful as he returned back into his dorm. The next day came around and you once again didn't show up to breakfast. It's like he wanted you to come but he just noticed it again.
Kaito realized how Shuichi was looking more upsetting than usual as Shuichi explain the situation to him. Kaito just wanted to walk up to you and give you a piece of his mind but Shuichi told him not too.
The time has passed and Shuichi nor Kaito haven't seen you all day an upsetting feeling grow in Shuichi and the announcement of a body being found didn't help either. during the investigation you weren't there as well, He would've been suspicious of you but he really didn't want to think of you at the current moment.
Time passed on and on the trial came along, Miu and Kokichi were going back and forth as some were actually pointing out evidence while the others were babbling out more nonsense. The trial continued as now all evidence were pointed at you. Shuichi didn't want to say it, He doesn't understand why and what happened. You were so calm during the beginning of the killing game.
But of course he had to and everyone voted on you, to his upsetting Monokuma said it was correct. You didn't look surprised or bothered and you just took your execution but before you didn't you confessed to Shuichi about cheating on him but you never said who you cheated on him with before anyone could question you already in the middle of your execution.
The room was silent, But the thought of you couldn't escape Shuichi's head.

Hi! I love your writing so much and i hope you are having a good day ❤️ so i was wondering if i could get some Mikan x platonic!reader where the reader always looks out for her when she trips and helps her with anything they can etc, and meaning to confess their love for her? I love Mikan and I heard you like her too
so i can't wait to read your writing:)))
I'm glad you enjoy my writing. I certainly hope I don't disappoint. -Mod Kokoro
Mikan x Reader who looks after her and confesses!
Mikan Tsumiki activated your protective side since day one of you meeting her. From how she constantly apologizes for just existing, to tripping and falling in a very embarrassing pose, you knew something wasn't right. So you took it upon yourself to watch over her, and do your best to protect her from anyone and anything that could try to take advantage of her. This typically involves catching her before she falls and scaring off Hiyoko.
Everyone came to know you as Mikan's protector, and it was widely understood that those who tried to hurt Mikan would suffer the wrath of S/O.
Now, Mikan actually greatly appreciated this. She was grateful to have someone who cared so much about her like this, and wouldn't bully her, and instead look out for her. How you'd always help her with anything she would need, always caught her before she could fall. How anytime someone tried to harass her, you'd immediately scare the daylights out of them and make them regret it.
Every time she forgot something, you always had a spare for her to use. Every time someone bullied her, they'd be met with a fierce reaction that can range from terrifying death glare to shoved against the wall and beat up.
Over time, you couldn't help but develop feelings for her. You grew to fall in love with her and wish to be with her. The two of you became inseparable. Mikan was actually rather obvious, constantly blushing around you, eager to hug you and hold your arm. She'd look at you with dreamy eyes and always be enthusiastic to spend time with you.
So you decided it was time to officialize things. You wanted to be able to call Mikan your beloved girlfriend. You decided to buy her a heart-shaped locket, silver with deep purple lettering that read "Love." In the locket was a picture of the two of you under a Sakura tree, petals in your hair and smiling together.
You took out your phone and called.
"Hey, Miki. Are you free right now?"
"S/O! Yes of course. I'm always available to spend time with you."
"Can you meet me at the botanical garden we saw last week? There's something I have to tell you." You were blushing, realizing you'd truly go through with this.
"That sounds lovely! I'm already on my way. Meet you there!"
You hurriedly made your way there. As luck would have it, the garden was going to be empty besides just the two of you. Waiting patiently, you went over in your head what you were going to say when Mikan got here. You looked at the perfectly wrapped gift in your hands. You couldn't help the nervousness you felt in your chest, but you knew deep down she felt the same. It would only be a matter of mere moments before you'd finally, truly be together.
"S/O!" That adorable voice called out, as she came to hug you. You hugged back and picked her up, spinning her around.
"Hehe! I'm so happy to see you." God she was so cute.
"I'm really, really happy to see you too. There's something I want to give you, and something I have to tell you." Here we go.
"O-Oh? What is it?" She looked at you attentively.
"Mikan. You're special to me. You've become the most important person to me in my life, and I've thought about you a lot. Everything about you is amazing to me. I've thought over all the times we had together, and everything we've done. I've come to realize that, out of everyone in this world, you're the one I want to spend my future with. I love you, Mikan. You mean the world to me. ' You pulled out the gift and held it out to her.
"S/O....." Mikan teared up. You knew they were happy tears.
"I love you too, S/O. You make me feel truly safe, and loved. You're perfect. You're everything I have ever wanted and needed. I love you more than anything. More than life itself. I want nothing more than to be with you for eternity." Mikan confessed back. Before you could even respond, she pulled you into a loving, passionate kiss.
You wrapped an arm around her, holding her close as you shared a beautiful kiss together.
"Please, open this. It's for you." You reminded her of the gift.
"Oh, I bet it's something wonderful." She began to carefully unwrap it. Her face lit up at the sight of the locket. She cried another tear of joy at the picture inside.
"S/O, this is so beautiful!"
"Thank you, I'm glad you love it." You helped Mikan put on her new locket.
The Sakura petals fell gracefully from the tree around you, as the sunset gleamed marvelously in sync with a kiss between you and your beloved Mikan.

“Can you even see the fifth tower anymore?”
“No. But we know where it is, yeah?”
“Yeah, I guess so.”
Hajime’s eyesight was better than Shuichi’s. Not by a landslide, but enough that sometimes Shuichi would ask him, “Am I seeing this right?” and trust his answer. Shuichi was weaker in some sense, too. He could hold real steady, which was valuable when it came to holding boards and nails in place, but he had never really built any structure in his life before the drought started.
Not that Hajime had built a whole tower before either, but he had done handiwork with his parents before. Shuichi hadn’t done anything like this. He said he felt the same way now that he felt growing up, now that everyone was gone. Not exactly the same, of course, since Hajime was here.
Now that they were truly alone, they’d often forget what they had even been doing up here.
“What are we going to do when we get to the fifth tower again?”
“Build to the seventh tower.”
“Because the sixth tower fell.”
“Oh. Yeah.”
They relax and look out at the view multiple times a day. Because they have all day. No one’s waiting for them.
“Byakuya Togami,” Shuichi blurts out as they sit in the middle of the bridge between towers Two and Three. He was extremely anxious about stilling on the bridges and staircases at one point, but he’s used to it now.
“What?”
“He was in the sixth tower.”
“When it fell?”
“Yeah. I remember because… because I spoke to him once. When he was further this way.”
“I heard he was an asshole.”
“He is. Your brother said he’s a bit worse for wear now, though. Apparently he used to be ruder.”
“Makoto?”
“Yeah, your brother.” Shuichi turned to look at Hajime, perhaps searching for some semblance of disbelief that wasn’t there.
“Oh.
“Come on, let’s go.”
The sixth tower incident was the most widely remarked and remembered, for obvious reasons. Byakuya fell along with Celestia Ludenburg, Takemichi Yukimaru, Hiyoko Saionji, Tsumugi Shirogane, and some others they couldn’t remember. There was a larger number of people in the tower, and the only reason they remembered Takemichi is because he likes to yell across the towers and so everyone knew him, if not by his name then as “the guy who screams occasionally”.
“I knew Hiyoko,” Hajime remarked, lugging his bag to the end of the bridge. The stairs that went upward from the bridge were broken so Hajime immediately walked around the walkway balcony attached to the actual tower structure to where he knew wood would be. Shuichi went into the inside of the tower, looking through all the chests and shelves and looking across the table. He found clothes, and left them. He found papers, and took them. “What was she like?” he exclaimed through the door.
“Irritating…
“She wasn’t bad, though. I guess. Just liked to mess with people.”
Shuichi stuffed the pieces of paper into his bag and pulled out nails as he rushed out to the broken staircase. “Do you know anything about her?”
Hajime shrugged, laying a piece of wood in place for Shuichi to hold nails to.
“She was a dancer. Real small traditional dancer. ‘S why she didn’t build anything. Just distributed food and water. Sometimes people asked her to dance for them. She didn’t really like when people asked, though.”
“Oh. She sounds interesting.” Shuichi doesn’t know what to say.
“Mhm. This should be good enough.”
“Okay. Maybe I have something of hers. Are there more nails over there before we get too high?—I don’t think I’ll have enough. I can carry a whole bag if there’s a whole bag.”
“There is some—here. You might have some official stuff; I don’t know if she’s the journal type.”
“Thank you. I don’t really like to read people’s diaries anyway.”
They built all the way to the next floor of the tower, carrying more wood and nails and materials than before. Hajime hauled most of the weight.
Shuichi rejoined Hajime at the bottom of the next staircase, paper crinkling in his personal bag. “Can we stop at the top?”
“We’re not going to the top.”
“Ah—I meant when we get to the bridge.”
“Yeah.”
“Yeah, thanks. Sorry—I just get kind of tired.”
“I know. It’s okay. I get tired, too. Gotta carry everything.”
Shuichi huffs in place of another apology, fundamentally understanding the lack of complaint in his partner’s light-hearted tone.
They sat down before the threshold of the bridge going from Tower Three to Four. They ate some of what food they had and Shuichi pulled out a paper randomly from his bag, then opened the bag up to Hajime for him to do the same. So they each opened their little piece of paper and began reading through the things their compatriots left behind.

Not the Pekoshima anon who originally talked about the ship, but I am so Invested in pekoshima my god, I have to talk about it. Okay so - with both Ultimate Despair's we see (discounting DR3 because. I don't like it), Nagito and Mikan, I find them very interesting. Mikan in chapter 3 obviously isn't behaving well - murder and all - but she also seems to recognize for possibly the first time ever that how people treated her was wrong (questioning why they treated her this way, acknowledging it wasn't fair, even calling the cast a bunch of bullies in scorn). Which is... such interesting characterization! It's one of the reasons I can't exactly buy how Junkan is presented in DR3 - in her FTEs, how people treated Mikan was normal to her, and she didn't seem to fully realize it was wrong. In the third trial, Mikan talks as if she knows how she was treated was wrong, and singles out Junko as being different, having forgiven her. In her final FTE, she says that Hajime has forgiven her too, implying to me that Junko did the same thing as Hajime did during their FTEs together, just with malicious intent (strengthening the Hajime/Izuru and Ryouko/Junko parallels and solitifying both Chiaki and Hajime in SDR2 as "the kindness the remnants never had" - kindness that ultimately leads to them triumphing over Junko this time). So in DR3, it didn't make much sense to me that Junko treated Mikan just as everyone else in Mikan's life has. Kicking her and berating her. Of course, with brainwashing she didn't need to be kind, but before DR3 came out, I always thought Junko operated more like... she would make you go one step forward, and two steps back. She would present herself as if solving your problems and helping you, but that was just to her own ends. We see this in Nagito too - when he's in DR:AE as a remnant of despair, his ideals have changed drastically from SDR2, and I'd go so far as to say what he preaches in DR:AE to be a better philosophy - though how far he's willing to go for it, still bad. So, the conclusion I reached was that every remnant would have some sort of ironic twist - something they improved upon, only for their other behaviors to be worse, like Nagito and Mikan.
So Hiyoko wouldn't be bully - but maybe it would be too much in the other direction, where she was obedient to a fault. Never talking without permission, sitting still like a doll, only doing what she was told.
Kaizuchi, perhaps, would no longer be obsessed with Sonia, someone who didn't like him back, and instead fixate on Junko, who welcomed his obsession...
And Peko, who used to think she was a tool... perhaps she would finally realize she was human. Perhaps she would realize this, and despair at such a fact.
Because it would mean she failed. She failed to become a tool for Fuyuhiko, and suddenly everything done to her wasn't "training a tool" but a tragedy. Her life was a tragedy. The very fact that she is human is despair, but that despair itself proves she is human. I imagine she could get very twisty and turny in her thoughts about this.
I also have the headcanon that Peko and Fuyuhiko during the despair times switches roles. Fuyuhiko always took on too much responsibility, and hey, here's your old pal Junko here to set you straight! You don't need to take so much onto yourself! It's painful, isn't it? Taking the burden of making choices. Being human. Who wants that responsibility? Why not give it to someone else? Oh hey, look at that, it's your old pal Peko! She'll take the brunt of responsibility from now on! From now on, Peko is the master and Fuyuhiko is the tool!
I just love the idea of Junko doing these ironic little twists. Helping them in some way only to fuck them over in others. Junko makes Peko realize she's human, and because of that, Peko cannot help but both love and resent her. Real toxic yuri shit going on.
(TW this gets a lil gory at the end)
This is a really good take on Junko's strategy!! My Junko analysis is similar but not quite the same. I've always viewed Junko as a monkey's paw. Whoever you are, she gives you exactly what you want, in its totality - but at the expense of your happiness.
Mikan's desire for someone to care for her becomes excessive dependency and blind devotion. Ryota's desire to become a successful animator who doesn't have to think about talking to others or existing in the real world becomes the complete destruction of that world, and his animated work as the most influential to ever exist. Nagito's desire to become a force which others can step on to find hope becomes Nagito ensuring the legacy of the greatest despair he possibly can, so that no 'fake' hopes can bypass his rigorous test - only a True Ultimate Hope can overcome and finally lead the world to victory.
Despair - for Junko - is the knowledge that you have succeeded, and everything is even worse than if you hadn't. Because Junko is Always succeeding, and she's Always in despair. Nothing challenges her. The only thing that she can't predict is pure dumb luck, which Makoto leverages against her both in THH and SDR2 to enable her defeat. Junko, like Izuru, is one of the most successful people to ever exist, and it SUCKS. So of course she is dragging people down the exact same way she herself is dragged down. Of course she shows people obvious, glowing success, in such a way that it tears down the entire world they once knew. Because this way - if one day unimaginably, they break their bonds - they will never, ever experience true hope again. Because their hopes are what destroyed them. Their hope brings about despair.
So from that perspective, I think you're dead on the money with Fuyuhiko, who loathes his position and wants to be free of the burden of responsibility (wouldn't it be easier, to be a tool, too? Aren't you tired of telling people to die? Shouldn't you take responsibility yourself, if there's killing to be done?). But Peko's desire is to be a tool. Rather than teaching Peko how to become her own person, I personally think that Junko would put Peko through the paces of both physical and psychological torture to turn her into a complete unfeeling instrument, exactly like Peko wanted. Once you've been in a 1-foot cell with no other people for a week, once you've been given Pavlovian training to receive an endorphin rush when holding your own spilling viscera in your hands - affection, agency, memory all fade away. There's just the next order. Exactly like Peko wanted.
#ask to tag#pekoshima#headcanons#peko pekoyama#junko enoshima#sdr2#dr3#talk to the mod#asks#anon#we dont talk enough about junkos on-screen propensity for ruthless physical torture#lets go back to that time she scooped out a member of the steering committee's eyes with a spoon. thats the type of shit she inflicts

[ao3]
Mikan wishes she'd thought to bring a mirror. She did try polishing a patch of floor in the engine room. Rubbed the ribbed metal until the bandage on her left palm greyed and tore, but even after that she can barely see her reflection. Just a blur that vaguely looks like her.
Perhaps that’s what she is now. A blur that vaguely resembles Mikan Tsumiki. She hugs her legs to her chest, grimacing.
Though the engine room is the largest compartment on the ship, she has chosen to make herself as small as possible by tucking herself into a corner on its bottommost level. Usually only Kazuichi and Sonia come here, being the two people with any real understanding of the inner mechanisms of the ship. Pipes mesh together into an intricate network across the engine room’s three floors. Mysterious valves and buttons and locked cabinets cram nearly every surface.
Yet despite not knowing how everything operates here, as a nurse, Mikan finds her surroundings familiar. Every component plays an important role in running the ship. In keeping it alive, no matter how small. The white pipes are reminiscent of a skeleton.
A sigh shudders out of her, that she feels more than she hears. Constant rumbling pervades the air, but as loud as the engine room is, she knows the insulated walls muffle the noises inside. So not only can nobody see her, they won't be able to hear her either. Good.
Heat sears her eyes. Her face scrunches, then she starts weeping. She knows she shouldn’t cry, that she doesn’t deserve to after all she’s done, but she can’t stop herself. Not until the rot is out of her system and she can return to her cabin with her face dry and her insides hollow. God forbid someone saw her like this. Or worse, saw and felt bad for her.
“Mikan-chan?”
The engine room almost buries the voice. She tenses, wondering if she could have imagined it, but then a figure jumps down from the middle floor onto hers.
“Wahoo!” says Ibuki as she lands. Most people would have at least winced after such a drop, but Ibuki straightens up with an unfaltering smile. “Three! Three! Three! One! Someone give Ibuki a gold medal! However, Ibuki will accept a kiss from a cutie as an alternative!”
Laughter flies from Ibuki’s mouth. No matter who she is with, she always acts the same way. Unfiltered, carefree, whether she's with serious Peko or potty-mouthed Hiyoko.
Or irredeemable trash like Mikan.
“H-How’d you find me?” asks Mikan. She can’t even hear herself over the constant noise, yet Ibuki answers instantly.
“It’s funny, actually,” Ibuki says, just loud enough for Mikan to hear. “Ibuki spent all day lookin’ for ya. Then I got super tired, so I came here to nap because the soothin’ sound of the engine room is the perfect white noise to fall asleep to.”
Mikan’s eyes boggle. The noise is soothing to Ibuki? Her brain then processes the rest of what Ibuki said, and her stomach lurches. Not only had Ibuki been searching for Mikan, but she had apparently been doing so for most of the day.
Ibuki's gaze fixes on Mikan like a spotlight. Like a predator watching its prey.
“Anyways, Ibuki’s enhanced hearing picked up on the sound of a babe cryin’, so she awoke like Snow White and dropped down here like Shawty at da club,” Ibuki says. She breaks into a skip, crossing over to where Mikan’s sitting.
With each step, Mikan's chest tightens like Ibuki is stomping on her body instead of the floor. By the time Ibuki stops in front of her, Mikan can barely breathe.
“S-Sorry. I didn’t mean to disturb you.” Mikan grinds her knuckles against her eyes and stands up. “I was about to head back to my cabin anyway. I’ll... I’ll leave you to...”
But when she tries to go past, Ibuki suddenly grabs Mikan's wrist. Ice runs through Mikan's blood, yet she doesn’t freeze over. Not entirely. Her body shakes. Her heart races. Only Ibuki stands still. Very, very still.
“Hey.” The word doesn't have Ibuki's usual bounce. It falls like a felled tree trunk. “Ibuki has barely seen Mikan-chan since we got on this ship. What’s up?”
They stand side by side, facing opposite directions. Unable to see each other. Mikan feels Ibuki's palm twitch against her arm as she hardens her grip.
“... Did Ibuki do something to upset you?” asks Ibuki. “Did Ibuki do something weird that disturbed you?”
Mikan’s eyes flicker.
“No, I’m f-fine, I’m just...”
Ibuki’s fingers dig in harder. “Liar.”
The back of Mikan’s neck prickles. Even though Ibuki doesn't shout, Mikan can hear her every word.
“Ever since Ibuki shot out of Mioda-mama’s snatch, people have always been saying stuff like, ‘You’re too noisy.’ ‘You say strange things.’ ‘Why can’t you sit still for a few seconds? And what’s with the funny hand movements and faces?’ Is that it?”
“I’ve never thought that about you,” blurts Mikan. It’s true. Mikan has always admired how authentic and unapologetic Ibuki is about herself. How she doesn't care what others think of her. Or if they even think of her at all.
In fact, Mikan envies this about her.
“So why are you avoiding Ibuki like she’s a freaky person? Or a monster?” asks Ibuki.
Mikan flinches. The hand that Ibuki has on her arm burns. Everything burns. But it's not to do with Ibuki. Though Mikan doesn’t have fangs or horns or wear bear hair ties, blood still soaks her hands. Her reflection can mimic a human all it wants, but Mikan knows the truth. The monster here isn't Ibuki.
She tears her arm out of Ibuki’s hold and spins around to face her.
Despite how she feels like she's being strangled, Mikan manages to say, “I-I’m the monster, okay?!”
Both stare at each other. Black heavily outlines Ibuki’s pink eyes.
“I shouldn’t be here,” says Mikan, quieter. Softer. She wraps her arms around herself and looks away.
“Huh? What the heck are you talking about?” asks Ibuki.
“I... I murdered...”
“Oh, that? Psh.” Ibuki sounds nonchalant. “No biggie or tupac. That was in a video game, and Mikan-chan was sick with the despair disease. Ibuki knows Mikan-chan wouldn’t have done that otherwise.”
“I’m not referring to that, t-though that was still awful of me. I mean in real life, I murdered...”
“We all did, as Remnants of Despair! So what? Enoshima-me brainwashed us. We - ”
Mikan clenches her fists. “I murdered Nanami-san!”
The engine room rumbles.
“At Hope’s Peak, when we were going to rescue Yukizome-sensei as a class, I... I secretly shoved Nanami-san through a hidden door, where Yukizome-sensei led her to her demise at Enoshima-san’s hands... I lied that she had injured herself and was staying behind.”
Not only is there blood on Mikan’s hands, she swears she can taste it in her mouth too. Ibuki scratches her head.
“You were still brainwashed...”
“And Nanami-san is still dead! I-If I had been able to resist Enoshima-san’s despair... t-then Nanami-san wouldn’t be dead right now. We c-could have even defeated Enoshima-san back then, before so many people died, and...”
Ibuki grabs Mikan’s shoulders. “Don’t you dare carry the burden of Chiaki-chan’s death alone!”
A surprised squeak pops out of Mikan. For all the screaming and yelling that Mikan has ever heard from Ibuki, this is the first time Ibuki has sounded genuinely angry. She looks it too, with her dyed eyebrows furrowed as she glowers.
“Mikan-chan, you may be unbelievably cute, but you’re unbelievably pissing me off! What if we’d noticed you hanging back with Chiaki-chan? What if we'd noticed something was wrong with you before that? What if we had let Chiaki-chan’s death give us strength and hope, rather than shit on her legacy and spread despair instead? But most importantly, what if Enoshima-me just hadn't been a sicko?”
Ibuki's nails dig in more, but the acrylics barely breach Mikan's consciousness. She's numb.
“Chiaki-chan always wanted to unite us, yet you’re here bawling ya eyes out all alone.”
“I... I thought none of you would want me around because of what I did,” mumbles Mikan. “I thought I’d stay out of your way...”
“We all want you around still!” Ibuki gives Mikan a small shake. “I want you around. Ibuki knows you’re not a monster. A monster wouldn’t feel so horrible about what happened. Mikan-chan is kind, gentle, and sometimes silly...”
“More like off-putting, weak-willed and creepy...” Mikan sniffles, yet Ibuki's words melt the weight in her chest. Though that darkness is still in her, just sloshing about rather than all clumped together, now she can breathe. She can smile. “Mioda-san, you are too kind... e-even if this is a trick or joke, my heart’s fluttering with joy.”
Ibuki grins back at her. “Ibuki-chan’s heart is fluttering too. Like she’s headbanged so hard that the room is spinning...”
Mikan twitches.
“T-That doesn’t sound healthy at all!” She reaches toward Ibuki's forehead. “It must be all the machinery noise in here.”
But before Mikan’s hand can reach its destination, Ibuki catches it in hers and holds it.
“Is Mikan-chan for cereal? Ibuki said she comes here for relaxing naps.” Ibuki intertwines their fingers. “It’s because Ibuki’s with Mikan-chan that she feels all funny all of a sudden.”
Normally that’s one of the worst things a nurse can be told, that they’ve made someone feel strange. Mikan bites her lip. There’s another way to read into what Ibuki said, but Mikan tells herself not to jump to conclusions. Ibuki is bold and bright and beautiful, while Mikan is plain and passive and pathetic.
“I’m sorry, but I’m not following at all,” says Mikan. “Are you allergic to my shampoo?”
That seems more likely to be the cause of Ibuki’s lightheadedness. The hand that Ibuki has on Mikan’s shoulder slips up to cup Mikan’s cheek. While Mikan trembles at the touch, Ibuki stands steadily.
“Rather than Ibuki tell you, let Ibuki show you.”
Mikan’s eyebrows shoot upward. She breathes in, then the next thing she knows is Ibuki’s lips are pressing into hers. Her body tenses, but only briefly. Warmth engulfs her, starting at her lips, spreading to her face, her heart and the rest of her body. It’s a warmth that doesn’t scald or burn, but instead makes Mikan shiver.
Keeping hold of Ibuki’s hand, Mikan brings her other to Ibuki’s waist. Despite Ibuki’s spiked hair, sharp eyeliner and bony frame, her lips are soft. Also wet. Not just from saliva, but because Mikan has spent most of the day sobbing. Even now, tears blossom from Mikan’s eyes, yet Mikan has no desire to stop what they’re doing. The wetness makes their lips slide a bit against the other’s and gives the kiss a slight salty tang, but Ibuki seems undeterred. She continues to hold Mikan. Continues to stay with her.
A quiet groan slips out of Mikan, one that makes Ibuki squeeze her hand and push her mouth against her more. Mikan’s breath quickens. Her nerve endings tingle. When Ibuki finally pulls back, Mikan just barely steadies herself.
“Whoa,” goes Ibuki.
“Whoa,” Mikan agrees. She sways a bit. “N-Now I feel all funny...”
“Let’s lie down together then.”
Though the floor’s not filthy, it isn’t exactly clean either. The grey stain on the bandage wrapped around Mikan’s palm is proof of this. Even so, both women lower themselves and settle onto it, lying on their backs side-by-side. Mikan’s cheek feels bare without Ibuki’s hand on it, but at least she still has hold of Ibuki’s other one.
“When the room stops spinning, shall we go see the others together?” asks Ibuki.
The engine room rumbles.
“Yes,” says Mikan.
“We might be feeling funny for a while though,” says Ibuki. “Because Ibuki wants to kiss Mikan-chan for a long time.”
Mikan looks over at her and smiles. “T-That’s fine... I’m the same.”
“Do ya wanna kiss again? Right now?”
“Y-Yes please.”
Ibuki rolls onto her side and leans over, reuniting their lips. As they kiss, Mikan thinks to herself that she doesn’t need a mirror to remind herself who or what she is, because she has someone whose presence makes her not feel like a monster anymore.

Anything else?
So have you heard about Hope's Peak Academy or what was your response to it?
Honestly... I didn't hear much about it to be honest but when it's brought up, I know grandma really doesn't like it very much.
But I did remember when we were getting costumes fitted, I think Grandma and a business partner of hers were talk and I was getting fitted.
...
...
...
Date: December 11th, 2008
So... I'm getting fitted again? We already did this before, do we have to do it again?
Well of course so we have to make sure...
Fine, well we better hurry; it's rather annoying to fit my kimono constantly. (This is gonna be boring but again I'm the heir so I gotta...)
*As the the car arrive at a kimono store, which then Hiyoko and Izumi walk in; as they did*
Tao? Are you here, I came to fit my granddaughter with one of your kimonos again.
Where is she, I thought she say she was going to be here?
???: She's in the back, she's just working on the remaining touches.
*the 2 turn over to find a girl at the counter, sketching something*
And trust me, I've call grandma that your coming; you might to go into the back if you want, she probably is aware your here.
Ah right, the usual place well thank you then, excuse me for a moment...
*Izumi walk into the back and as Hiyoko watch*
Hmm, I don't think I've seen you around here; do you work here?
No, I don't; just that Grandma has the keys so I got to wait for her to finish then we can go home.
And trust me, it gets rather boring so I just sketch some clothes to pass the time.
I see... (Well I guess that is expected...)
IZUMI: Hiyoko? Come here to the back, your kimono is done!
Oh coming grandma! *Hiyoko rushes off away from the girl who is sketching which then Hiyoko and walks in to see Izumi talk to another women*
Thanks again for the assistant, Tao. Your kimono skills are really fantastic; I do enjoy this design.
TAO: Oh of course, happy to hear it dear; Ah, hello Hiyoko - since your here, we are going to get you fitted for a costume, so come to the back and if you need assistance, I have someone to help fit it.
Okay, thanks.
*Hiyoko walk into the back but as she was changing she over hear the conversation*
IZUMI: So... how are things with you Tao, I heard your husband pass away a year ago; are you managing?
TAO: Well... I'm doing fine, Aiko is doing fine but can you believe it, those 2 arrive at his funeral demanding his inheritance but luckily he gave it to me, I shoo them away...
(Hm? Wonder what those 2 are talking about...?) *Hiyoko peaks in and watches the 2*
Oh right, that failure son of yours and that wife of his; the fact those 2 only came to see you was for money is beyond selfish and quite rude, hell they didn't even mourn for your husband's death is disgusting; I still question how they even find out or how he turn out like this.
TAO: I'm not sure either, Izumi I mostly blame that women... I try to keep the information private as much as I can, even the whole family try to but they find out somehow and given I have Hope's Peak Academy scouts curious of Aiko when they visited, I can't help but worry they'll try to get involved with her - claiming to be her parents or something.
Ugh, Hope's Peak... that good for nothing school brings nothing but trouble; I feel people should of realize how it was when the lost decade happen, all those murders connected to it which the school kept silent or the recent 2008 recession but yet they still go; I think you shouldn't let Aiko go if you ask me.
TAO: Well maybe but as say, it is her choice on the matter; if she wants to go, I'll let her but I do warn her that her parents would try to mooch off her due to attending Hope's Peak which she'll be careful. So if she attends, she'll know what to do.
Good, frankly it be for the best; after all, given that Hope's Peak exams are broadcasted world wide, your school along with your information is shown and while it gives advertisements, I rather not have Hiyoko attend given all the bad luck it brings and I'm not a big fan of reporters so I'll pass if she gets an acceptance letter.
TAO: Yeah I suppose given what happen to your daughter, it might be a good idea.
(Ah... so she's talking about that school again, I only hear negative things from it but it can't be that bad.)
EMPLOYEE: Hiyoko? We have your kimono ready, do you want to get fitted?
Oh right, thank you! *goes over to get change and get her kimono fitted*
'I usually hear grandma speak negatively about the school but I never understood how bad it was, but she usually doesn't talk about it.'
