i’ve always found it peculiar how during meeting the chargers cutscene the game just assumes your character automatically understands what krem is talking about when he mentions binding (though, granted, it’s all very unsubtle). like, this is a roleplaying game. what if i want to play a character who just doesn’t get it

absolutely fascinated by the way dan pronounces the word "bath" in the typical (uk) southern way and then less than a second later pronounces it the typically (uk) northern way (notice the long "a" sound followed by a short "a" sound) (video below ⬇️)

the impact phil has had on his vernacular (and vice versa) is so interesting to me. they've literally changed the way they speak bc they've been together so long and i wonder if dan has even noticed this or if its just a subconscious thing and it's so ingrained into him that it's not something he's ever picked up on. i remember there was a british dialect quiz that went round the internet a while back that guessed what part of the uk you're from based on how you pronounce certain words and i'd be fascinated to know dnps results 👀 anyway this was long and rambly and i just find this so interesting

as i have been relistening to TMA, it's got me thinking about the archivist as a supernatural figure, and that lead me down a mental rabbit hole of what the archivist means in the magnus protocol and THAT made me realize:

Alice has had a couple encounters with the archivist, but it did NOT compel her.

All of the base OIAR employees (colin excluded) have been compelled by ERROR. Gwen had her encounter with the archivist and ink5oul, Sam compelled after the minister visit, and Celia compelled during the finale.

Everyone except Alice.

Why?

I was still mourning Yuri On Ice this morning, [whilst I was writing the second draft of my book because I'm a multitasker], and yeah, it sucks. We're all upset. But then, I had a thought. It's not technically over. I mean, officially, yeah, we've been super screwed. But, you know, if there are a few dedicated hobbyists....in the animation department, you know? Or even the still-image department.

We have so many people across so many different fandoms who make doujinshi and animations, and all other kinds of fanworks. Who's to say no one's going to rise out of the woodworks and make their own movie or second season purely out of love and desperation? Fans do all kinds of amazing things. And there's no fandom quite like the Yuri On Ice fandom. It may not be now, or even a year or two from now, but I wouldn't be surprised if somewhere down the line, some of the YOI's most dedicated fans gave us a most beautiful gift like that.

As a lot of you have been saying, the fandom is still alive and well. It's still doing what it always has, and it will continue to do that. 🩵
