I know we are all used to getting second-hand embarrassment from F1 interviewers because they ask dumbass questions all the time. But this time was too much like why would he say that 😭😭😭😭

SPOILERS FOR "ELEMENTAL"

Okay so I just watched the new elemental movie and it made me realize something very interesting

Now, I'm not going to get into the plot or the side stories or the fact that movie is just OBSESSED with everyone's dad

What I'm here to talk about it the fact that this movie actually has the 2 main characters utter the words "I love you" to eachother and that got me thinking

I have NEVER once heard the love interests in a disney movie say those words. Like- NOT ONCE- Seriously!

Rapunzel and Flynn: Never said it just got married

Cinderella and the Prince: Never said it, just got married

Jasmine and Aladdin: Never said it, just got married (I have since been corrected!)

Sleeping beauty: Girly is literally in a coma for most of the movie

Snow white and Prince: Guy kisses a 12 year old's corpse, gets married to her and never says a word

And then there are the cases where one of them says it but they never once say it to eachother

Beauty and the beast: Belle says it while her man is literally dying, like–??? He says he loves her in a different scene but they don't say it to eachother

Ariel and Eric: She says she loves him to her father but Eric he never says it

Tiana and Naveen: She says she loves him he never says it back (he says he loves her in a different scene when she isn't there)

Hercules and Meg: Meg had a whole ass song about it but they never said it to eachother

And there's a bajillion other examples

This was just like a total culture shock to me. It's actually incredible that almost all the disney movies, which center around love and couples, never have the two characters who are MEANT TO BE TOGETHER say even a single "love ya shawty" "Aww radical, love ya too bb"

Reading Nightwing Year One and I gotta say, I really like this origin for the Robin and Nightwing costume designs.

It makes sense for Dick as a young boy to remember his parents by keeping the colors they wore together during performances. At the same time it is sad; his parents died in those colors too. It’s an expression of grief.

By the time Dick gets fired though, he’s no longer a little boy anymore and he has processed his parents’ death. Designing his new superhero costume by taking inspiration from the one his dad wore during his breakout as a performer is a great way to establish a new identity for himself while still keeping true to his roots and even continuing his parents’ legacy in a way. (If you squint real hard, it’s even a bit of a dig at Batman. After all, John was Dick’s original father.)

It's just funny to me when Ewan Mitchell fans attack Matt for his looks and Vice versa...like are you guys blind, delusional or just plain stupid?

Both of these men have such distinct unique faces amongst the sea of generic looking conventionally attractive men, one of the reasons why it's a delight to watch them on screen is because it's kind of refreshing and relatable to see them and attraction is definitely subjective.

Like I'd never have a crush on Ewan for some reason but Matt got me swooning over his every move.

And I'd definitely roll my eyes if these men were getting attacked by the fans of those conventional good looking celebrities like Evans and Hemsworths but Ewan's and Matt's fans attacking each other's favorite in Looks department is just hilarious to me.

I wonder what's up with Ruben's other band members. I mean, if Ruben only started shifting to emo music after spring break of last year, then that means My Clerical Gnomance could only be like a couple months old by the time of Frosty Faire. Not only that, one of their FIRST SONGS was a breakout hit and became the song of the summer.

Did Ruben know these guys beforehand and when Ruben had his sudden change in aesthetic were like "ok, guess we're doing this now". Or are these relative strangers brought in by Lola Embers to aid a rising star? Are they even friends?

And how did they get so popular in the first place?? Fig only got popular in sophomore year I think, meanwhile Ruben changes his whole style and becomes an instant success?

Posting my little Munkoffelees fic that I did (and edited before putting on AO3) for @rainbowratsstuff.

For all that I'd loved doing it, alas, it looks like by the seems of things though I missed the ship's heyday (and mainly 2019 film inspired, which makes sense) by like five years (although it still had a good surge in 2020, and was entering its decline through 2021 with zero in 2022), and then there's mine hanging out all alone in 2024, wondering where the party went, but still happy that it exists (because I did enjoy writing it!)

Anyway, maybe posting up the link here on Tumblr will also help it gain more eyeballs as well.
