Saw a screening of The Shrouds (the new Cronenberg film) last night. As we were getting up to leave, heard one person behind us say to their friend, "I think it's okay to make a film about your fetish if it's interesting".

tl;dr Stranger (the kdrama also known as Forest of Secrets/Secret Forest) is incredible, the best mystery/investigation/legal drama I've ever watched, if you're a fan of the genre I def recommend it (the two main seasons are on Netflix, too).

A LOOK BACK at Nozue & Togawa

OLD FASHION CUPCAKE (2022, JAPAN)

A phenomenal series (way to short) from Japan. And with adults out of their teens and 20's

Togawa (KIMURA TATSUNARI) is tall, well built, smart and attractive and almost 30. He meets his soul mate in his almost 40 year old boss.

That boss is Nozue (TAKEDA KOUHEI) who is stuck in a rut, his life has become ordinary and scheduled. The same thing everyday.

Until Togawa sets Nozue on a different path an anti aging path beginning at a pancake Hotspot frequented by attractive young women.

Togawa has fallen completely for his boss and a confession filled with a seduction followed by tears as Togawa spills out his heart to Nozue.

Short Review: I loved the book and loved the film. No relationship is smooth sailing, each coming with it's highs and lows. That is proven in this thought provoking movie about black gay romance. Jussie did a great job and it's great to know the talented novelist contributed to the screenplay. The book is worth reading. The movie is worth watching.

To cover up the happenings of amity park, Danny comes up with a GENIUS idea (shut up Sam).

The small videos and pictures of him and the ghosts that managed to escape their city were dangerous if a hero were to look into their business.

With Tucker and Sam, they created a 'behind the scenes'.

(The video starts with Phantom. He's chasing something– someone, building's sweep past as the two duke it out midair.

That is, until someone yells.

"CUT!"

The background is taken away, leaving behind a green screen. Phantom and the ghost, now recognised as Ember Mclain, hang midair, dangling.

The camera zooms in on Phantom, as he slips off his white wig and scratches his scalp.

"Danny! Stop taking off the wig!" Someone yells off screen, to which Damny rolls his eyes to, screaming back a "but it's scratchy!".

So laios and fallin have been ostracized by society since they were children, Marcille has lifelong grief from constantly outliving her loved ones that leads her to dark magics, kabru’s village was destroyed by monsters, senshi and mithrun both have horror movie level backstories, izutsumi was sold as a freak show attraction, and then there’s chilchuck, who is a normal ass divorced middle aged man. And somehow he’s the most shady and secretive out of all of them

Edit can y’all please let me live I didn’t make this post bc I think chilchuck doesn’t have his own trauma or doesn’t experience racism or that being a union boss is a walk in the park or whatever I made it because him lying that he cheated on his wife to get the others to stop asking about his family was funny as fuck.
