btw brain blast moment. so i dont think fromsoft writers including “yeah the hornsent did fucked up shit too” as much of a “the cycle of violence” thing, or not fully. but potentially as more of a “there are NO exceptional races/cultures/societies/individuals incapable of harm, or of perpetuating harm”

which feeds into the same line as like, every single demigod ultimately causing some amount of harm or suffering, despite pretty much all of them feasibly WANTING to change things for the better. its a running theme. just because they are demigods, does not make them any more incapable of being shit people. and just because they are shit people does not mean they are without sympathy

its basically layers and overlayers of this sort of thing all the way down. there is nothing uniquely exceptional (and morally superior) about the hornsent, or the gods, or the demigods, or any individual or faction. does this mean kind people cannot be found? no. does this mean that there’s no point in even trying? no. but there is this simple fact of life nonetheless. oh its also because of free will btw. and due to how individuals are all Separate and Unique
