One of my favorite genera of wasps to find, Perilampus! They come in a couple of different metallic-y colors (this one lands roughly around the species hyalinus so... I'm fudging it) but all have an adorable head to thorax to abdomen ratio. My one good Perilampus specimen was eaten by ants a few years ago :( so I couldn't compare it to these sculptures, but trust me, it's tiny. Instead....

Asian giant hornets are actually not that bad! If you’re talking about the scare in America, that was in this small area and there was like 3 sightings.
In addition, while they can be really aggressive and their stings hurt like a bitch, they’re also not malicious. If you see them, just don’t approach them (oh boy, I can’t wait to walk up to a hornet the size of my thumb).
:D (I don’t want to be condescending, I just want to let people know I swear)

Cratomus megacephala is, as the name implies, pretty top heavy for such a tiny wasp. Someday I'll figure out how to make bobble heads and this species will be first on my list!

This ancient insect possessed a unique feature never before seen: a structure on its abdomen that functioned like a tiny Venus flytrap, snapping shut to trap prey. Unlike any wasp we see today.
