Since that night in the Bahamas, when Miles talked about what he wants for you, if you get pregnant again, it crosses your mind at least three times a day.

That's what you ask yourself, looking at the mirror as you get ready for the team get-together. The season is almost here, and the leaders decided that it's good to have all the families and everybody together.

You take a deep breath to clear your mind. You finish getting ready and join them downstairs. 

You smile seeing Lily sleepy in her daddy's arms. You grab the bag from Miles. He uses his free hand to wrap around your waist for a kiss. 

“You look gorgeous, babe.” He says, leaning in for a kiss. 

Your cheeks get warm at the compliment. Miles leads his girls to the car. While he settles Lily, you get in the passenger seat. He starts the car, and you guys are on your way. He rests his hand on your thigh. You squeeze his hand softly. 

“Are you excited for the season ?” You ask him. 

“Yeah, I think this season is going to be fun.” You nod, and you look to the back seat. Lily is out. She'll have lots of energy to play later. 

Mel greets you guys, followed by Gabe, the Avs captain. Miles is holding Lily, and you have the bag. Mel shows you where you can leave the diaper bag. Miles goes outside, and you decide to greet the other halves and talk to them a little. As more people start to get there, the sounds get louder and Lily wakes up. 

Miles gives her some water before letting her go play. You move outside with the halves, and you shake your head seeing your husband playing with the kids.You sit and continues the conversation with the halves. Lily is still a little sleepy, so she's a little slow. But when she's fully awake, she's playing like her dad. 

It doesn't take long for Miles to come join you. He brings you a drink, and you thank him softly. He taps your hips, and you get up for him to sit, then he brings you to sit on his lap. You thank him for the drink with a kiss. You play with the hair on the back of his neck with your free hand. 

“Are you okay, babe ?” He squeezes your hips asking. 

“Yeah.” 

You look back to where the kids are playing. Lily is one year and a half. She's playing on her own time, but she's playing. That big diaper butt, she's so happy. You miss that feeling, to be pregnant with his baby, to go through that in a better environment. 

You look at him. 

“I want another one.” At first, it's almost a mumble. 

Miles looks at you a little confused because he doesn't understand you. 

You take a deep breath. “I want another one, another baby.” 

The biggest grin possibly spread on miles lips. 

“Are you sure ?” He needs to know. 

“Yeah, I am. I want another baby with you. Do you want another baby with me ?” 

“Yes, I do, babe.” 

You smile hearing his reply. It's such a relief.

“ And I promise if you're already expecting. My answer will be different than last time.” He says with a chuckle.

“No I'm not. But I appreciate that.” You rest your forehead on his, just enjoying this moment with him. 

Then you hear Lily's cry and call for you. You peck his lips before going to check on your baby. Miles stares at your ass the whole time. He's so ready to start trying with you. 

You squat, asking Lily what happened. She only makes grabby hands. You pick her up, kissing her head. 

One of the kids said that the ball had hit her and she started to cry. It wasn't on purpose. You assure them that it's okay and she's going to be okay.

Miles asks if she's okay and you nod. Everything is okay. He sits beside you and you guys stay in your little bubble until it's time to eat. Lily feels better now. Her mama was there for her, she got cuddles, and she's hungry. You smile, watching Lily opening her mouth to get your food. Miles offers to hold her, but you say that it's okay. 

You can't help but laugh at Ross chirping Miles' curls, saying that he needs to let you help him. You and Miles share a known look. You both know why he doesn't ask your help with the curls.

Ross looks at you all seriously. 

“What did you see in Woody, (y/n) ?”

You look at Miles and then at Ross. 

“Him.” You move your hand up and down your husband. 

Miles smirks, giving Ross some shit. You chuckle and feed Lily. 

You guys stay there until Lily starts to get too grumpy. She wants to sleep, as much as you're having fun. She's a priority, and you guys are going home. 

Miles is just in his silly mood as you guys move to the car. You settle Lily in her carseat, and Miles takes care of her bag. 

He moves to your side of the car, he pins you against the car. 

“Sooooooo…” You chuckle, hearing him not being smooth. 

“Yeah ?” You arch your brow at him.

“You were being truthful about baby #2, right ?” 

“Yes, Miles. I want another baby.” He feels so relaxed hearing you say those words.

Later that night, you guys start trying for baby number 2.

You're thinking of a way to tell Miles again that it's a no. You understand that it takes a little time for the pills to stop. This is just so disappointing. 

Miles comes in, and the house is quiet. He knows that it's nap time for Lily. So he needs to find you right now. He finds you in the bathroom crying. He moves to sit beside you. Miles brings you close. 

“I'm sorry, I don't know if I can continue doing this.” You just blurt it out. This has been a painful process, too.

“It's okay, sweetheart, we can take a break as long as you need.” He kisses your head, holding you close. 

“I'm sorry for continuing to disappoint you.” Miles' heart shatters hearing you say that. 

“You're not, babe. These things happen and take time. But I know we're going to be parents again.” You nod, resting against his side. This wasn't supposed to happen. Miles kisses your head and just holds you. You sigh, cleaning your tears before getting up. Miles watches you. He holds your hand, holding you in place. 

“We're going to be okay, sweetheart.” He gets up bringing you into his arms again.You hold him tight, taking a deep breath and trying to calm yourself. You say that you're going to finish lunch and ask him to check on Lily. 

Miles kisses you and says that he loves you. You reply that you love him too. You need to calm yourself and go back to that initial feeling. The giddy and happy one, where you both are full in. 

The rest of the day, you mope when you're alone. But when you're with Lily, she's the only thing that matters. 

Miles spends the rest of the day trying to think of a way to talk to you and assure you this delay doesn't change anything for him. His love is the same.

When he gets home from the game, you greet him before going to use the bathroom. Miles cuddles Lily for a little while, and then he joins you. He changes and waits for you in bed shirtless. He pulls you by the hand. You settle on his lap, hugging him. He rubs your back.

You can't believe it. It's going to happen. You and Miles are going to have another baby. You can make an announcement to him. You kinda want to tell him right now, but you're going to wait. You both deserve that moment. 

Miles facetimes you, you clean your tears and take a deep breath before picking up. You smile seeing his silly grin on the screen. You update each other. Miles says that he'll be home in a couple hours. You can wait for that. 

You hang up and sit down to think about the announcement. You know you want to use Lily, so maybe a little jersey for her. A tiny avs jersey needs to happen, too. You make the calls that night. Everything is planned. Now, all you need to do is wait.

He picks her up like she's nothing. He kisses her head, and he asks what you guys are doing. She says that “mama is tired." 

Miles looks at you a little worried. You look at the direction of the surprise. Miles follows your gaze, and his face goes to pure confusion. 

He moves closer to the ballons and box. He sees a big “Hi daddy” in one of the ballons, he looks at you and you shrug. Miles sees there is a box, and he opens. He sees your positive test, a card in your handwriting, “Ready for round two daddy ?” and a tiny Avs jersey with daddy on it. 

His face is pure confusion, he looks at Lily and then at you. He still didn't see her shirt. 

Tears starts to form in his eyes. He puts Lily on the bed.

“Yeah, we are pregnant.” You clean your tears as Miles crawl into bed with you. He crashes his lips into yours, hugging you tight. You hug him back. Lily crawls to join the hug. Miles opens a space for her.

“You're going to be a big sis, baby.” He tells her as he leans to kiss her head. Lily giggles and hugs your side. You clean Miles' tears. You tell Lily to show Daddy her shirt. Miles giggles, seeing the word only crossed out with older child under it. He grins at you, not really knowing what to do. 

Then, like he needs to, he says out loud. 

“We're going to have another baby !!!” You and Lily look at each other and smile. Yeah, things are going to be just fine.

What if, now hear me out.

What if we bring up Dana Winters-Drake (whose confirmed to at least be alive in the DC verse but no one knows where she actually is)

Tim still tries to find her though but even with best resources it was like she just disappeared into the wilderness and the stress of trying to handle more and more problems get worse.

So when out of the blue, a couple of years later, he gets a call from an unknown number. On his private, only for friends and family, phone and when he answers he meet with a young girls voice on the other end.

A very young, maybe six or seven, girl who informs him about his apparently half-brother Danny Drake-Fenton. And how she loves Danny so, so, so much but knows her home is dangerous for him to be in.

Tim is stunned and before he could question her, she says Danny is Dana and Jack's baby and that her parents had adopted him years ago and put Dana's stuff that the hospital had away for him to look at when he was older but she just had to fight off their lunch from eating her brother and she knows he needs a better place to live and so she snooped around and found Dana's diary and that she had to unscramble the nonsense Dana wrote and found Tim's number with the words 'tell him about his brother Danny' hidden in it. But before she could keep rambling she hears Danny screaming "JAZZY THE MILK WENT BAD AGAIN AND HISSED AT ME!"

Tim is left with silence after hearing Jazz yell to Danny to lock the fridge and step out of the kitchen as she gets the bat.

Then he waves something small and indistinct from your distance. “Unlike you.” And swings off the roof.

Red Hood roars and chases after him.

There is a moment of distinctly Gotham silence.

“You made the right choice.”

You jump a foot and find Red Robin perched on the railing like some kind of overgrown parrot.

“Hood’s the only one of us who can cook,” explains Red Robin. 

He gives you a single nod—and disappears.

starting off 2025 with boscage sonic (aka scruffy)

random notes about him:

- he’s sonic’s protectiveness (especially towards tails), stubbornness, and love of nature. he’s the big brother, the protector. scruffy is much more serious than sonic is, muzzle basically curved in a permanent frown

- speaking of sonic, his ass hates that mf. not only does this small, spiky guy look like him, he’s also getting a little too close to mangey for scruffy’s liking AND he hurt thorn. if he went after thorn, who’s to say he won’t go after his cub at some point? i also just really like the idea that the different versions of sonic don’t like him because of how quickly he latches onto their versions of tails

- he can talk, he just actively chooses not to unless it’s 100% necessary. he usually just huffs and grunts at people

- he and mangey are separated when sonic goes to the maze. scruffy is in the forest with thorn and birdie

- thorn is his best friend. when the ache in his heart is too much, he goes to her for comfort. he understands that mangey is a scavenger, but he doesn’t like it. he doesn’t like it at all

now for the random lore dump beneath the cut!

scruffy was on the same boat as thorn when it came to the soon-to-be-called scavengers taking the forest’s resources (except for mangey who was doing nothing wrong in his eyes of course). When the time came, he helped the hedgehog drive the scavengers away, only stopping when he noticed mangey was also running from him. He saw the fear in the kit’s eyes has he scrambled up to the treetops with the others and immediately regretted his decision, even if thorn was telling him it was for the better; that mangey chose to go with the scavengers.

by the time sonic lands in the boscage maze, scruffy spends most of his time either with thorn and birdie or near the base of the tree he saw mangey leave on. He is convinced that the little fox is terrified of him and hates him (mangey also thinks scruffy hates him and that’s why the beast scared him away. the kit spends a lot of time near the edges of the wooden platforms in the trees, looking for any sign of his big brother through the leaves) but he still hopes for the day the fox descends from the tree and their little family reunites

that’s all i really have for him so far. still need to work out how exactly he’d fit into the overall story. but yeah, my new boy scruffy!!! i love hims!!!

Thinking about my big brother ghost Yuan au again, specifically the relationship between Shen Yuan and Yue Qi, because you know there's no way Shen Jiu doesn't tell his Qi-Ge about his tag along.

At first, Yue Qi was probably somehow MORE suspicious of Shen Yuan than Shen Jiu was, because who's this freeloader in his Xiao Jiu's head!!! What does he want with poor Xiao Jiu? You can't have him, evil ghost!!!

Eventually, he and Shen Jiu get used to Shen Yuan though, and Yue Qi starts to actually really appreciate Shen Yuan's presence. There have been multiple times where Shen Yuan has convinced Shen Jiu to seek out Yue Qi for help with things he otherwise would have hidden, and clearly SY is keeping SJ safe with his interference, as SJ has been getting caught less, getting hurt less, and getting into less fights than usual.

What really ends up solidifying the bond between Yue Qi and Shen Yuan, though, is when their Si-Jie was sold. Wu-ge had died the winter before, and Liu-Jie had run away, so after Si-Jie, Yue Qi was the oldest, and therefore it was his job to protect the younger slaves like Wu-Jie had. Xiao Jiu was inconsolable, having retreated into his mind and leaving Shen Yuan most of the control, and Yue Qi didn't have time to mourn or anyone to hide behind.

He was only ten years old.

Yue Qi was limping back to the building and surrounding alleyways the slave masters had claimed as their own, carrying the Bao he had run on his twisted ankle to get for the other slave children. They needed to eat in order to stay healthy, to stay healthy in order to survive.

It was getting dark, but if he hurried now he would be able to slip out and go beg in the red light district. He knew some ladies who had taken a liking to Xiao Jiu and himself, they wouldn't chase him away, and then he could make up the money from Shiba missing today because of her sickness, and from Shiwu who was too busy mourning Si-Jie, and-

"Xiao Qi?" It was the familiar too-soft version of his Xiao Jiu's voice. Shen Yuan, then. He paused, turning towards him. "Yes?"

"You've been gone since before morning, Xiao Qi. And what happened to your leg?"

"it's alright, Shen-Xiangsheng. I've just been getting food for the others, and I'm going to go to the red light district-" he heard Shen Yuan tisk, before stepping forwards and putting a hand on Yue Qi's shoulder.

"Not on that leg you aren't. Come sit down, I'll bring the Bao to the others and help you with that leg."

Yue Qi felt his face scrunch up, his brow furrowing as he looked down at the man in the body of his closest friend. "If I don't, then Shiba and Shiwu are going to get beaten! And maybe even you too! And then Shiba won't recover from her sickness!" Yue Qi shouted, balling up his fists.

"Is that what you really want? To ruin the lives of some slave children while acting nice? Cause if that's true, you're a really pathetic ghost!"

Yue Qi froze. He just yelled at an adult. Sure, maybe that adult was in Xiao Jiu's body, and so he was little, but Xiao Jiu could be really strong when he wanted to, and Xiao Jiu had been so sad when Si-Jie went away, would he even notice that his tag along was beating up his Qi-Ge? Or maybe even if he did he wouldn't intervene, because Yue Qi was an awful little brat who raised his voice and barked like a dog at someone who was better than him, and-

And Shen Yuan's face didn't twist in anger like the slavers or the men in the markets might have. Instead, his face was filled with pity. No, not pity. Sympathy.

Maybe Shen Yuan was an adult, but he was also a ghost. A ghost that was stuck in the body of a little street kid like Yue Qi. So maybe he wouldn't beat him. Maybe Shen Yuan would just be sad for him, because he knew how bad it was out here, and maybe he wouldn't make it worse. Maybe he would just leave Yue Qi alone.

So caught up in his thoughts, Yue Qi didn't notice Shen Yuan had moved until he felt the warm arms around him. He froze.

Shen Yuan's hugs didn't feel like Si-Jie's. They weren't as warm and gentle, his hand didn't run over Yue Qi's back gently with shushing sounds coming from his mouth. They didn't feel like Xiao Jiu's either. Xiao Jiu was all sharp knees and elbows, chipped nails digging into his skin as if at any second Yue Qi would disappear if he didn't hold on.

Shen Yuan's hug was tight, and though he was shorter, he used a hand on the back of Yue Qi's head to tuck his face into his shoulder. The other hand rubbed gentle circles on his back, slowly pulling Yue Qi's mind back into his body.

Distantly, he heard Shen Yuan speaking. "That's right, breathe in, and out. You're doing so well, Xiao Qi. It's okay, I have you, you'll be alright."

His hands tightened into little fists in Shen Yuan's clothes and he felt himself lean against him, letting out a sudden sob he hadn't even realized had been caught in his chest. Before he knew it, he was sitting down, laying on Shen Yuan's chest and sobbing into his shoulder, holding on for dear life and shaking like a leaf in the wind. Shen Yuan was speaking, and it sounded soothing, but Yue Qi couldn't tell what he was saying through his sobs.

"Yuan-ge-" he whimpered, his voice cracking as he tried to burrow further into Shen Yuan.

"Shh, It's okay, it's okay, your Yuan-ge is here."

Yue Qi cried for a long time, until the sun had set and he had fully exhausted himself. Yuan-ge pulled him onto his back, somehow managing to carry him despite his small stature, and carried him into the alleyway where he and Xiao Jiu slept. He placed Yue Qi down, before pulling out the bricks that they hid their straw mat behind, pulling it out and laying it on the ground.

He watched as Yuan-ge placed one of the bricks at the end of the mat, before pulling Yue Qi onto it and pushing his sprained ankle up, placing the foot onto the brick.

"Keep your foot elevated, like this, okay? I'm going to go to the red light district. I'll get the money that Shiba and Shiwu need. You just rest, alright? He said. Yue Qi opened his mouth to protest, and suddenly found a warm Bao bun pushed into his mouth. At the taste, he couldn't help but grab it and begin to chew, but as he ate, he looked up and complained, "These were supposed to be for the others!"

Yuan-Ge sighed. "You're a growing boy, eat it. I'll get another Bao to make up for this one, okay?" Yue Qi could only glumly nod, and continue eating his bun.

Soon after Shen Yuan left, he felt himself slip into sleep, exhausted.

"Qi-ge, Qi-ge wake up!" He heard a familiar voice whisper shout in his ear. "Xiao Jiu?" He murmured, still hazy with sleep.

"Yuan got us some stuff, but he told me I should be the one out here to give it to you. Here." He blinked, as half a stick of tanghulu was shoved in his face. Squinting in the dark, he could make out a few bits of crystalized sugar stuck to Xiao Jiu's cheeks.

"Hmmmkay." He murmured, taking the stick and going to have a bite, when he felt a sudden rush of cold on his ankle. He yelped in surprise, but strangely, his ankle felt much better. Looking down, he saw Xiao Jiu using cloth scraps with a strange blueish paste on them to bind his ankle.

"Wha-"

"Yuan says it's called the winter's night lily of ice pack. Or something"

"Everwinters night lily! It's just basically an ice pack." Chimed Shen Yuan, making little sense as usual, before he faded away once more."

"Okay, that. The colds sposed' to help with your leg. Somehow. And also keep it elevated or something."

"It does feel better than it did before." Yue Qi agrees.

"Good. Keep it that way. Oh, also Yuan made a deal with some courtesans. Made a whole bunch of posters for some brothel called the Autumns Iris. They gave us some coins, so he said not to worry. Oh, and he got the Bao."

Yue Qi let out a long breath, as Xiao Jiu climbed onto the mat, flopping halfway on top of Yue Qi and accidentally elbowing him in the ribs. "I'm going to sleep now." He said, before curling up like a hissy cat.

Yue Qi stayed awake for a while longer. Yuan-ge did it. He did exactly what Yue Qi needed, maybe even better than Yue Qi could have. He didn't get mad when Yue Qi yelled at him. He helped him fix his ankle, even though it really wasn't that bad.

He cared. He wanted to protect him. And he was older, and smarter, and stronger than any of the other slaves had ever been.

Maybe, even though Si-Jie was gone, with Yuan-ge here, he and Xiao Jiu would be okay.

bakugou carries his little newborn around on his bare chest in the kitchen for a bit and then when she starts to get fussy, he lays her down on the couch to swaddle her back up, and she reaches her little arms high above her head and you can hear him quietly hum and say, all fondly,

"oooh, big stretch,"

and his sleepy face is all soft and his lips are curved up just a bit and he waits until she's done before carefully wrapping her up 🥺🩷✨️

Klarion is delighted, excited, impatient, and so very happy. He’s found a friend, not the justice league baby-crew who don’t know how to make friends properly or the order-magician who doesn’t play right, but another realm-being his age! They’re even around the same death-date, his is just a couple years earlier! But to beings who aren’t adults until they’re well into the hundreds that’s practically nothing!

His new friend even has a familiar too- even if he has to explain what a familiar is- and, and even shares his two other friends with him! 

He’s been in this world for what feels like so long trying to make friends and he’s made three in just a month! And they even know how to properly play and wrestle without targeting Teekl like a certain order lord who he doesn’t like. 

Oh! Hey it’s the justice league kiddy-crew! Were they feeling neglected or something?
