I opened Alex’s twitter and his bio says he loves pineapple pizza and I was like Alex..Alex no, maybe Marc wasn’t the reason Alex isn’t allowed in Yamaha maybe Vale saw that and the Italian in him got severely offended and was like no keep this man away, but he’s in a Italian team so I wonder if he’s ever made them have pineapple pizza and how disgusted they would be.
lucky for you i saw this. opened instagram. and gresini was literally having him make a pineapple pizza. cwazy. ummm he IS making that a goofy little contrarian personality trait which i DO enjoy. i think he likes when people do silly fake mad arguments at him… the kind you do with your friends…. that’s the vibe i get

Jongyu, omegaverse, mpreg, angst-ish, rated m, w/c: 2.8ish k,
Summary: Jonghyun is Jinki’s home. Problem is, Jonghyun doesn’t remember that Jinki is also his anymore.
Part 1,   Part 2,   Part 3, Part 4,  Part 5,   Part 6,  Part 7  Part 8  Part 9
Ao3   AFF
Adjusting the sling on his shoulder, Jinki winces as it jostles his arm. Taking a deep breath, the pain subsides, and he manages to toss a blanket over his shoulders before going to find his mate. He finds Jonghyun sitting on the porch, wrapped up a thick quilt his father had sent him a few months prior, a mug steaming in his hands. When the hinges of the front door gently squeak, Jinki is met with a warm smile as soon as his feet touch the porch. “Good morning, Beautiful.”
“Hey,” Jonghyun grins as a kiss is pressed to his cheek. His head is resting against the back of his rocking chair, eyes on Jinki as he takes a seat beside him. “How are you feeling?”
“Cold.” He gripped the edges of his blanket with his left hand, shivering slightly with the brisk wind blowing through the early morning. “I missed you this morning.”
As soon as his mug is placed on the table to his left, both of his hands are moving over his stomach, a little smile on his lips. “They were restless and I couldn’t find sleep. I didn’t want to keep you up.”
“I wouldn’t have minded.” The air is still cold as he moves his left arm from the warmth of his blanket to place his hand over Jonghyun’s. “They’ll be keeping us both up from sleep here soon anyway.”
It still amazes Jinki completely when he feels a foot or hand, their children’s movements captivating him entirely. “Hopefully real soon. I can’t wait to meet them.”
Again, for nowhere near the first time, Jinki pictures Jonghyun holding their child, now children. The image brings warmth into his chest and limbs, where there shouldn’t be in the temperature of the day. He wonders what they’ll look like if they’ll have Jonghyun’s eyes or his temperament. Will they love the winter like their carrier, or enjoy the summer like their sire? Before his mind can spiral into more worrying and darker thoughts, he focuses on Jonghyun curling their fingers together. “Let’s head inside. I have something for you.”
            “Oh?”
------
Jonghyun the further along in his pregnancy had started making small nests, but with how close he was getting to deliver he focused on the one in their bedroom. It was the place he felt the safest, in a room that smelled so much like both of them. Jinki’s scent still did wonders to comfort him and ease some of the distress of the whole pregnancy experience. Even though they both knew Jinki was more than welcome in it, for one it is their bed, and two he was his alpha, the man still always asked before entering. Which was why when Jonghyun returned from getting the gift he had hidden in the spare bedroom attached to the boys’ nursery, Jinki was still standing by the edge of the bed, fiddling with the wood of the footboard.
He softly sighed, a fond smile forming on his lips as he gazed at his mate, “What are you doing?”
            “Waiting?”
“You can go into my nest.”
Jinki rocked on his feet for a moment, left hand coming up to scratch the back of his neck. “I didn’t want to assume.”
“You’re adorable.” Approaching him, Jonghyun pressed a kiss to his cheek. Then he pushed his gift into the man’s hand. “Happy birthday, Babe.”
It was only a small thing, wrapped up in brown paper Minho had picked up from the store on the main street for him a few weeks prior, but Jinki was staring at it as he had never seen anything like it. When he speaks again, his eyes are still on the gift and his voice is barely a whisper. “I didn’t think you’d remember. Did Minho tell you?”
“No. He didn’t.” He slowly shuffled to the bed, climbing into the warm safety of the pillows and settling against them. He sighed with the tension in his lower back receding, smiling when Jinki’s eyes finally met his. “I’ve been remembering little things. Minho just… reaffirmed what I thought.”
The present still isn’t opened as Jinki gently sits on the edge of the bed. It’s placed beside him, his fingertips brushing the smooth surface of the wrapper. The cool light from the window across the way gives contrast to his profile, the curve of his nose and lips, the furrow of his brow. “What else... What else have you remembered?”
“Little things. Your birthday, the first night you cooked for me. The snow angels we made in the middle of the night that made us get grounded because we snuck out.” He wishes he could remember everything, wishes he could feel Jinki through the bond he knows the man still reaches for out of instinct. “It’s never fully clear, things are blurry around the edges, but when I’m confused Minho helps me with big things. Like confirming your birthday, or talking about how moody I was those weeks we were grounded and I couldn’t see you.”
“I see.” Came the reply, soft as a breath across his lips.
            “What’s wrong?”
“It’s nothing.” Jinki shakes his head, even as he takes a ragged breath. He flashes a smile and pulls the tie on the gift. “Let’s see what ya got me.”
He waits until Jinki has the gift unwrapped, the knitted fingertip-less gloves resting on the brown paper of the wrapping, before he softly asks, “Babe, what’s wrong?”
Jinki wiggles his left hand into one of the gloves, flexing his fingers to see how it fits. He mumbles his thanks before standing and carrying the gloves over onto the dresser. It’s there by the window he stands for a long moment, back toward the bed and Jonghyun, head downcast. “Most of the time it’s alright, you know? I can love you and be excited for our children and I don’t even think about the vacant void of our bond in the back of my head. I just- it hits me sometimes that I used to be able to feel you across the entire pack and now I can’t even feel you across the room. I miss it and I’m so sorry that I do. I don’t want you to feel bad.”
They had made so much important growth to get where they were, but Jonghyun knew when Jinki was reminded things weren’t the way they were supposed to be. When the man would rush through the front door, half ajar just to get to him to remind himself he was there because he couldn’t feel how he was. The times when he woke up from nightmares, the way he avoided leaving Jonghyun home alone with a fire going, and how he would hold him just a little tighter as they sat in their living room by the fireplace to keep warm. “Please c’mere.”
            “It’s alright. I’m alright.”
            “Jinki.”
Eventually, the man turned and took a few steps to climb into the bed. He almost immediately shifted over to have his nose in Jonghyun’s neck, left hand curled between them so the back of his fingers rubbed against their cubs. “I’m sorry.”
“I want you to tell me when you feel like this, even when you’re worried I’ll feel bad. You don’t have to go through it alone.” He pressed a kiss to Jinki’s hair, closing his eyes and letting himself be comforted by the man’s scent. “You’re always worried about how I feel or will. You matter too and I know this is just as difficult for you. I love you. I don’t want you keeping this all in, alright?”
            “I’ll try.”
            “That’s all I ask.”
-----
In a week, he was able to remove his sling and use his arm for more things around the house. As long as he didn’t raise it higher than his shoulder, most things were fair game. Jinki looked up from the peppers he was chopping when he heard voices coming closer. Jonghyun was laying on the couch, a moment ago complaining about kicking and how ‘you’re never getting me pregnant again’, so Jinki figured the voices belonged to Changmin and Minho even before the two men stepped through the doorway. Minho was in his official uniform as an advisor to the chief, his bag thrown over his shoulder, and in his hands were cream pieces of folded parchment that Jinki could only guess were letters. Since moving into the house officially, Jonghyun asked if they could have Sunday dinner instead of Minho and Changmin. “You two are here early.”
Changmin stepped into the kitchen, quickly washing his hands in the nearby bowl and tying an apron around his waist. As he picked up a knife and assisted in cutting the next vegetable, he hummed. “We received a letter from their father today. Minho couldn’t wait to bring it over.”
“Oh, is it about his retirement?” Changmin softly nodded, sliding the carrots into the bowl. “So he’ll be returning soon. Jonghyun needs a bit of good news.”
-----
Jonghyun barely shifted his head to look at the two men as they entered. He focused on Minho walking towards him with a frown. “If you expect me to sit up, you’re going to have to help.”
“That depends if you can read lying down.”
“Just help me up.” Minho curled his hand around Jonghyun’s wrist, chuckles leaving his lips until the smaller man glared with a hissed, “Don’t you laugh at me.”
            “I’m sorry.”
“I am SO glad this is amusing for you. I’ll keep that in mind when you’re carrying.” Jonghyun took a deep breath, eyes closed as his hands fell to the bottom of his belly, resting up against the couch cushion before he slowly moved his head to look at Minho. “So, why are you two here so early?”
“Dad sent a letter saying his term up north is complete.”
“That’s great!” Noticing Minho’s expression, Jonghyun sighed as his smile fell. He rubbed his hands over the curve of his belly before resting them under, frowning as he asked, “Why is that not great, Ming?”
“There have been reported robberies between the Northern Tribe and ours. He’s asking for a protective escort.” Minho laid the letter on the couch between them, letting Jonghyun reach over for it to read it when he was ready. “I asked the Chief, but he refused to order people to act as an escort, not in this weather. Only volunteers are allowed and I’ve decided to go.”
-----
Changmin nudging him on his side makes Jinki look up from the rice he’s preparing. In a daze, he finds Minho standing by the counter and follows his head movement toward the living room. “I think I stressed him out.”
“What do you mean?” Jinki placed the tweed bag of rice on the counter and wiped his hands on his apron. He could see the top of Jonghyun’s head against the back of the couch, his arm tossed over his eyes and hand resting on the top cushion. Before Minho could respond, Jinki left the kitchen with a huff. The further along the pregnancy got, the more uncomfortable Jonghyun understandably became. Sitting down carefully, his heart ached a little with how quickly Jonghyun fell against his side. “Hey, Baby what’s wrong?”
“My Dad is coming home, but the chief won’t order a protective escort with the freezing weather. Minho decided to go.”  It’s then Jonghyun lifts his gaze to look at him. “And I have a feeling you’ll volunteer to go too.”
“I couldn’t just let Minho and your father brave the cold and the possible bandits alone, Baby.”
“You still can’t shoot a bow. What if you’re attacked and you can’t protect them like you normally would?” Jonghyun takes a deep breath, even as his hands begin to shake. “And if you’re gone and you miss the birth of our cubs? I can’t do this alone Jinki.”
“Oh, shhh.” Jinki pressed his lips against Jonghyun’s forehead, doing his best to get as close to him as he could. “Breathe, Baby. No matter what happens I will be there when you give birth. I wouldn’t miss that.”
“If you leave you can’t control that.”
“Can I read the letter?” Jonghyun untangled his arm to reach over to where the letter had fallen on the couch, handing it over. Jinki rested his head against Jonghyun’s, gently rocking them as he followed the neat words of his father in law. Once finished, he laid it folded up beside his right thigh. “Is the only reason you don’t want me to go is the fear of me missing the birth?”
“I don’t want you doing something stupidly heroic while you’re injured as well. You know you aren’t fully recovered yet.”
“The last doctor's appointment estimated you’d go at the eight-month mark or close to it. I have a little time to go get your father and return. It’s only a four-day trip altogether.” He lifted his head to run his hand over Jonghyun’s belly, to feel their cubs moving within. “I have faith they’ll wait until I return.”
“Do you promise to not doing anything stupid?”
“I don’t-” He pressed his lips together after noticing the look on his mates face. “Alright, I promise.”
“And do you promise to go there and come right back?”
“Will spend just enough time in the tribe to toss your Dad on a horse. Scout’s honor.”
“You better return or so help me.” He waggled his finger up at Jinki, trying his best to look menacing even though he knew it was pointless. “If you make me do this alone-”
Jinki deeply kissed him, smiling as Jonghyun returned the gesture quickly. Kissing him again after parting for a moment for a quick breath. He only stopped once he could feel the tension leave Jonghyun’s body, pulling away to press a kiss to his forehead. “I love you. I know you’ll worry less about your Brother and Dad if I’m with them. Even without my ability to shoot a bow, I’m better than both of them combined. Have faith in me, please.”
-----
Jinki coming through the barracks doors wasn’t something Kibum expected for at least another week. While his shoulder was getting better, it couldn’t handle the tension of holding a bow out just yet. That paired with how close Jonghyun was to the expected due date, Kibum had accepted his fate of having someone other than his best friend as his partner. He raised his eyebrows as Jinki approached, the basket in his hands very suspicious. “What are you doing here?”
            “I got muffins for you.”
“Muffins.” He repeated in a deadpanned voice.
“Jonghyun and I made them last night.” Sure enough, as the cloth was removed three large muffins sat at the bottom of the basket. From the looks of things, there was some type of fruit speckled over the golden-brown tops. “Also, can’t I just want to see my best friend?”
The smile on the older man’s face made Kibum narrow his eyes. “What’s wrong and what do you need me to do?”
Jinki huffed, placing the basket on the bench between them. “My father in law is due to return from his post, but with the bandits along the road, the chief has stated he won’t order anyone to risk their life. I volunteered to go with Minho and Changmin to escort him back. You know how Changmin is.”
“I do. I was the unfortunate person who was in charge of his mandatory service training.” He laid his bow behind him against his cubby, sighing quietly as he noticed how tense Jinki’s shoulders were. “What’s wrong?”
“I need someone I trust to look after Jonghyun while I’m gone. I know he’s capable of taking care of himself, but he’s very close to his due date and if something were to happen I don’t want him alone. The last time I left him alone the fire happened.” Jinki’s eyes lowered for just a moment before he met Kibum’s gaze once again. “Could you look after him for me until I get back?”
“Of course. I’d have done it without the bribery muffins too.”
Jinki’s ears turn red, his hand coming up to push his fingers through his hair. “Thank you. I’m leaving in two days, in the morning. Should only take four to return.”
“Just come back safely, you nitwit.”

BNHA AU Ideas : University Professors (in Love)
Also on AO3!
TL;DR:
Due to a long-standing feud between various Law and Science professors, the students from those respective degrees don’t get along very well. What better way to foster some good (or at least non-violent) relations between departments than to start a new science-in-law degree?
Too bad the Law and Science professors - Yamada Hizashi and Aizawa Shouta, respectively - working on the course together hate each other's guts.
(Well, until they fall in love.)
Oh and Izuku and Hitoshi are sleep deprived first years running on noodles and Redbull, but what else is new?
this is at a big ass, top tier university
all might is like, the david attenbourgh of this universe but he got injured on set and moved to teaching, he's not that relevant i just wanted to include him because hes a good man
so, aizawa is under all might in the science faculty hierarchy, but not by much considering how young he is. aizawas the animal physiology teacher and does shit tones of research with zoos and shelters for husbandry studies
now, the two big draws of this campus are like the wet sciences and their law section, but the whole campus is pretty swish: like if gatton and st. lucia were connected with land but still as weird as the other.
Now none of you know anything about my uni, so imagine not quite an Ivy League school, but still one of the fancier collages in your state, with a redneck agricultural campus slapped on. But the rednecks are liberals.
Now imagine they are run by the same people
so one of the law lectures retires and they get a new one! its mic! and now aizawa is already pissed. hes dealt with mic before riding his ass in ethics committees and honestly just making life harder for him than it had to be
and the university tells him to reduce the hostility between the two sides of the campus, they are going to be holding some law classes in the animal side and vice versa and aizawa is piiisssssedddd
and then they fucking, start a new animal science/law degree about animal ethics law and aizawa is flipping his fucking lid because all might is already the vet science-vet tech degree co-ordinator and since aizawa is so new, hes the highest-ranking person to not be a degree coordinator
so of course, hes the new degree coordinator
but oh no, nezu isnt done
hes coordinating with mic, and they are the two primary lecturers for the two first, second and third-year compulsory subjects so aizawa is having a mini breakdown rant at allmight in the staff room when mic bursts in to say hello
allmight shoves aizawa in the cupboard and nervously chats to mic as aizawa tries not to make a noise from where he was quickly shoved into a cupboard of skeletons. hes internally saying sorry to the skeleton of that one tutor who donated himself to the uni. mic leaves, allmight helps him out and aizawa is just caught between pissed and flustered tbh
so the science people band together to allow aizawa to drown his sorrows in the nice food on the other side of the campus
and they have fucking, disguised aizawa
hes in one of nemuri's wigs, a pair of sunglasses from snipe and one of the nice lab techs named inko gave him a big puffy coat
and so this pack of science nerds is penguin huddle sprinting to the one ramen shop they all love, trying to hide aizawa from nezu, hizashi, and other random law students/lecturers hes pissed off
so allmight swears he sees hizashi but its nbd he only waves
so they get there, and all give aizawa sympathetic looks and buy him his lunch even though he insists he has money. inko the lab tech is there too bc i love her and she is aggressively mothering aizawa
when they are done they run back to the science side because no one has the courage needed to stop a hoard of sprinting scientists. also: nemuri is the chem lecturer and you should know that
its like the middle of the school year when this starts, so aizawa and hizashi have to scrap together this degree real fucking quickly
even though the both of them have Opinions about the other, they refuse to let their students suffer bc of how poorly planned this was so they knuckle the fuck down and bust out 1.5 years worth of content before the end of the year. they dont do much in person, mostly just emailing
aizawa is softer on mic bc they guy isn't horrific over email. unknown to him mic has developed a full-on crush on this guy
hes like, crying to joke "hes just,,, he wants to do good for his students you know? he isnt just a lecturer for the research money,,, he c a r e s,,,"
the whole god damn science faculty is mothered by the head lab animal tech, inko and they see her fretting about one day, and its turns out this whole fucking time shes had a son and didn't want to say anything bc she didn't wanna impose
(yagi has a big ol crush on her but nbd)
and so shes surrounded by all these nerds asking ab izuku and how old he is, and what he likes to do and they've never seen her happier rambling about her son. She tells them she let slip ab the new degree a little early, and izuku wants to be in it so badly and everyone is real soft
hes graduating next year, so thats even more motivation for aizawa to buck up and make this degree work bc he knows one of the kids now, and from what inkos told him, the boys a good kid
the entire faculty has already adopted izuku
one thing she hasn't mentioned ab izuku is that hes got chronic fatigue syndrome
aka izuku is constantly exhausted, his immune system is a bit shit, and hes in chronic pain that isnt affected by painkillers, other symptoms can just like, pop up, its pretty not understood
anyway, thats the reason izuku wants to get into animal law, not vet practise, bc hes not sure he'll always be able to physically pick up the animals and he doesnt wanna do them like that
anyway, its near the end of the year and its time to set the OP threshold. I have 0 idea how you guys get into uni, but an OP is basically: your grades are ranked, then your subjects are ranked, then your school is ranked by a fancy test. Your OP is the score from 1-25 you get with all that jazz. 1-5 is like: you can do almost anything. 1 is like doctors, vets, law. 1-15 is pretty respectable, under than you might need to do a little fuckery to get into a course.
mic is pushing for like, 10, bc its a new degree
but aizawa isn't having that. op 2 or he wont sign off on it and mic doesnt understand why and aizawa just turns towards him
"im not having animals suffer lower standards than humans. standard law is an op 1. vet science is an op 1. im already making a concession here."
mic swoons a little tbh, they eventually agree on op 5
anyway, izuku has an op 2 so its nbd for him, inko is so proud of her boy! aizawa has a little "thank fuck" moment bc he really did want this kid to get in bc he sounded like a good kid. also, mic's nephew shinso is in the first class! aizawa is actively trying not to remember the kids name so he isn’t a dick to him for 0 reason
there is like a grand total of 80 people in this degree which honestly isnt that bad
super high rate of externals tho, so there are only 50 students on campus
20 students in the campus dorms
izuku is one of them, he was gonna get in anyway but they put him in and gave him a nice first floor room bc making the poor guy walk up and down stairs for no reason is just mean
hes in self-catered bc while hes not super picky, hes allergic to some stuff, and some other stuff makes him sick, so no dining hall
shinso is his nextdoor neighbour. hes in self-catered bc he put his form in late and thats the only spot they had left! he cant cook so save his actual life.
so, mirio is the ra and hes a big soft 4th-year vet, he works out to give the dogs hugs
amajiki is his neighbour he has a cat - i mean - very loud fish (aka: no pets other than fish allowed)
when mirio likes people, he just,,, puts a cat in their face, and insists its a fish until they get it
that cats name is guppy i don’t make the rules
ok so, izuku and shinso meet and bond a bit in freshers’ week (think hazing, but gentle, with loads of games and forced bonding), but shinso is intimidated bc izuku is smiley and social and has loads of friends
and that does a 180 when he gets back to his room after a late-night walk, seeing izuku crying in the kitchen as he waits for the kettle to boil because a hot water bottle is the only thing that might stop his arms from aching
and shinso like, hides bc he gets not wanting people to know what's wrong but from then one he is SUPER protective of izuku
anyway, end of the week izuku confesses that he has chronic pain so he might be a bit grumpy sometimes and shinsou has to be like "oh its nbd" when one day he almost smacked their other neighbour with a piece of frozen steak bc he was making too much noise in the morning when izuku got to sleep really late
on the weekend they play videogames and make popcorn as the other kids go home, and they get visited by inko and Hizashi
inko is mothering izuku and has two very fat rats in her arms that she dumps on him and he lights up
see: izuku isnt allowed pets. but no one said anything about inko
so she got the two softest, dumbest, babiest rats shes ever seen and they live on her desk now. and shinso is like "SONs" and they have rats in their jumpers while all 3 of them play mariokart
hizashi stops by to help shinso cook bc he admitted hes only been eating frozen shit. izuku is gently telling him off bc he could have helped! but shinso is like "no i needed to maintain my cool vibes" so hizashi gently grabs izuku, sets up the two chairs like fluffy thrones and they order shinso around the kitchen like hes a servant
shinso is loosing his actual mind laughing and so is izuku. they force him to make katsu curry and eat it in the kitchen on their thrones while shinso sits on a shitty box fridge. there are more chairs left, hes being extra
so, first day of classes, they have principals of law first, izuku drags his pained ass out of bed and he and shinso make their way to class, both freezing fucking cold holding mugs of hot drink
they sit down
the lecturer is mic
izuku is losing his shit and shinso is like "oh yeah didnt i tell you?" and izuku is trying not to cackle/punch him. he waves sheepishly at mic who waves back with great enthusiasm
mics first class is just
KAHOOT
it’s not even law-related, it’s just random bs animal facts
shinsos name is c a t s and hizashi is losing his mind bc izuku set his name as d o g s r b e t t e r
the lectures r live-streamed so the external students can join in real-time and monomas on the other end like s n a k e
hizashi is losing his actual m i n d, everyone just has variations of their favourite animal
also pwease during this lecture mic is just chatting w the students ab whats going to happen, sees izukus mug of tea and says
"ok and just so everyone knows, please feel free to eat and drink in my lectures, just dont let anyone know i said that
"sir this is being recorded"
"shhhhh"
pls bakugous that one asshole that whips out a full course meal and starts distributing it amongst his squad. bakugo is just a plain law student, but there are some plain law students taking this course as an elective
mic honestly looks bakugo in the eyes, and orders pizza for everyone but him. hes standing in font of the mic so its fucking recorded too. izuku is cackling
ok so, they have an hour break and go to the cafe, inko crashes and smuggles them outside, and gives them the rats
inko and izuku aren't super well off financially bc they are saving for a service dog and its EXPENSIVE, even tho inko makes ok money, husband divorced her bc izuku was sick, izuku has issues, was bullied in school, has had cfs for ages
so inko has these rats bc she "liberated" them from the end of a cosmetics trial she heped nemuri run and nerumi stood infront of the secruity camera and closed her eyes
anyway, next lecture is aizawa's
shinso has vaguely heard ab the guy from hizashi and desperately wants to sit in the back row. izuku has heard ab the guy vaguely from inko and desperately wants to sit in the front row. izuku wins bc they walked in through the lower door and shinso doesnt wanna make the guy walk up all those steps
aizawa walks in, nicely says hello to shinso, izuku and the over kid in the front row, tells the people in the back row that if they think he cant see or hear them from there they have another thing coming, and immediately starts talking ab how many people working in animal-related fields and in law are depressed
izuku raises his hand, while shinso is aggressively trying to pull it down
"yes, kid?"
"what if you're already depressed, professor?"
aizawa pauses, turns off the mic and loses his shit quietly behind his desk, shinso is red and trying to hide, izuku looks proud of himself. aizawa gets himself together, coughs, and turns the mic back on
"seems we had a bit of a technical difficulty, continuing on"
and the whole room loses their shit, and aizawa is grinning like an idiot but his voice is the same pissed monotone as usual
just have to Be There for aizawas lectures like everyone who doesn’t show up is like :///// idk why y’all like him so much he’s kinda boring and izukus like No you have to Be There
in Person
everyone thinks the guy is a boring old man who keeps breaking his computers. in reality, hes like 26, really tired, and keeps losing his shit so hard he turns off the mic so No One Can Know
one time he walked in in hot pink leggings and when he asked "any questions?" ochako (a vet tech student in the class) ask "sir where did you buy those because they look amazing" "the internet, ochako. any other questions."
and bc you cant hear the students all the externals are trying to work out what the question was. it becomes a meme
last day of lectures they all show up in matching leggings. aizawas soft but he Refuses to show them. they fucking found the site he bought them from, all of them have pink leggings in increasingly vibrant shades
shinso's are like, lilac
izukus are eyebleeding, highlighter pink
anyway! mic likes to share the tea from behind the scenes
and so they learn ab the "really sweet department head with a crush on a lab tech" and izuku loses his shit. puts his hand up, and mic says "yeah?"
izuku clambers out of his seat, asks mic to turn the recording off, takes the mic and stares down the class
"that lab tech in my mum and shes smitten for this guy. totally smitten."
'ooOH SHIT REALLY?"
izuku just grins and nods
"ok class, extra credit. can we go through this uni's stance on dating co-workers. anyone who gives me a quick, sighted explanation of whether or not we can hook these two up gets 5% of their final mark, no questions asked"
fuckin, izuku is so on board with this, and tells hizashi he'll leave the assignments on inkos table at home if he wants, the whole class gets so fucking into it
anyway, after all that jazz izuku spots yagi and inko out for coffee together and reports it as a win, the class cheers
as an aside: hizashi is very open ab the fact hes one of 2 degree coordinators but he hasnt mentioned the second
its also very obvious he has a crush on the second, and that hes a little older than them (hizashi is 32, shouta is 26) now, literally no one thinks aizawa is the other
bc hes 26, and wears fucking pink leggings to lectures. hes like, hes baby. hes so small, so young, takes his cat to class in a backpack
its literally only the externals who think he could be bc they think hes like 50. aizawa has the curse of just having great fucking bone structure, hes really god damn hot. half of their love letters pages is people thirsting over him and hes so mad ab it. he doesnt brush his hair and wears dumb clothes but apparently, that makes him relatable or some shit
anyway, hizashi is off-topic talking ab the lab tech that mothers the other course coordinator and shinso sees izuku perk up
they guy has been looking out of it all morning bc hes having a bad day, but wanted to go to lectures. anyway, after the lecture hes scrambles over to hizashi and asks
"oh my god is the other coordinator professor aizawa”
"damn, what gave it away"
"mum mothers him because he never eats and he apparently looks like hes barely 20, which is false, but thats mum for you"
once they get out of lectures izuku is like
"shinso. shinso"
and shinso looks lost
"you know what this means, shinso""
"no. no i dont"

The One Who Stayed CH14
He would call himself a liar if he didn't admit that the first week with Maya in London wasn't like a normal one. He takes his daughter to school; she greets Mia and Jayden and walks inside as nothing happened. He greets Mark and they both go for coffee, only for him to run 10 minutes later for being late for work. He would arrive 10 minutes earlier than his shift and rest for a second in his office, until he heard his phone ring, telling him that his 9:30 A.M. patient has arrived. he would attend at least 9 pets before taking his jacket and run back to Lily's school to pick her up. she would run to him and, depending on her mood, she would grab his hand or climb him like she was a tiny koala, he would drive them back home, probably take Jayden with him, if his mother or sister approves of course, and Mia will join them after lunch.
Easy peasy lemon squeezy, he naively says.
3 weeks were enough to make him change his opinion. At the moment he arrived back at his house, after dropping Lily at Riley's new apartment, the loneliness attacks him.
He uses his time to clean his house, room by room and manages to clean them to perfection. He went to go shopping and cook his meals for the next 5 days, clean his kitchen and then sits on the sofa with a cup of tea. In 6 minutes, the tea is gone, he looked at his watch and desperation reign.
He grabs his jacket and drives to her mother's place. When he arrived, she hugs him and makes him feel the comfort only a mother can provide.
Due to the low temperature, Mary fastly serves 2 cups of tea and sits in front of her son.
- So? - she asks him.
- So what? - he asks back.
- Why are you here? - she asks him this time.
Lucas just looks at his mother - Wow, a hard crowd - he says and then takes a sip of his tea - Why you assume I'm here because I need something? - he asks.
- Because of the facts dear - she replies and caresses her son's face - Trust me, I'm more than happy to have you here, and I'm proud for not having you here completely drunk - she adds and takes one of the cookies she puts on the table.
Lucas just takes a minute before letting a chuckle escape his mouth - I'm a horrible son - he says, making his mother laugh.
- No, you're not, you're just a busy one - she defends him from himself.
- You give me too much credit - he says avoiding her look - Honestly, I'm here to ask for something, so you're not wrong - he confesses.
- It's about Lily? - she asks.
- No - he replies, but before he could say anything, his mother cuts him.
- Then it's about Maya - she points, surprising him.
- You know what, I'm not even gonna asks - he replies, making his mother laugh again.
Mary takes another sip of her tea - You're feeling stupid for letting her go to the museum thing with "the Uncle"? - she asks.
- I'm feeling stupid right now, but not for that - he answers - I need to deal with loneliness - he points out and take the rest of his tea.
- Hard question - Mary replies, looking at a picture of his family - Remember what happened when your father was transferred to Seattle? - she asks him.
- How could I forget? I had to double my training to lose all the weight I gained during that year - he replies with a laugh - It was insanely delicious but really hard, Maya and Farkle were the ones who most enjoyed that time - he adds, making his mother grabbed his hand.
- Well, that was my way to deal with loneliness - she says - Some people craft, some people knit, in my case, cooking was my answer, now you only need something you like to do, no matter the time - she adds.
Lucas just looks at his mother like she just discovered electricity - Well, it took me 2 years notice that my ex-wife was cheating on me, so, I'm gonna need a few hours to figure this out - he jokes.
- You should shop online - Mary suggests her son - Also, you need therapy, you shouldn't joke about what happened - she adds, taking another cookie from the plate.
A few hours after visiting his mother, Lucas felt his smile grow at the sight of that particular park, it still has the old graffiti certain blonde artist made in her youth. He was still able to remember all the nights he escapes to that park, and how the solitude helps him think.
Now, it only serves him as a reminder about how quiet his life is.
He also remembers that wasn't like that all the time.
He remembers his friend's laughs with him while they explore the city, or how he was amused by the size of the rats in the subway.
His brain even let him remember Riley's laugh and how Maya was clowning with her.
He was able to remember everything, Farkle and his Alter Ego Donnie Barnes, the evolution of Smackle, Zay's first ballet recital here, Maya sneaking into his room to study chemistry and spending every Friday night with Riley at the movies.
But he wasn't able to remember himself, and that makes him nervous.
Thankfully for him, his identity crisis was interrupted by an unknown number with a +44 area code.
- This is Lucas Friar - he answers the call.
- Guess who has a new phone - he heard, and his smile was back in seconds.
- Congrats on a new phone - Lucas replies and gets up from the bench he was sitting on - How's London this week? - he asks.
- Pretty much the same as last week - she answers - But God knows I miss certain pecan pie -she adds.
- Don't worry, you have one of the best Father-Daughter tag teams taking care of those pies - he replies, making her laugh.
After a few seconds of silence, she was able to notice something his mother was able to notice - Are you ok? - she asks him, testing the waters.
- Well, I still have 2 arms and 2 legs, so I can't complain - he answers avoiding giving an honest reply.
- Ok - Maya says with a tone Lucas wasn't able to identify - I'm gonna play it as I believe it - she adds - But you know at some moment you're gonna have to tell me, right? - she says.
Lucas just stays silent for a few more seconds - I miss you - he finally says.
- I know - she replies - I miss you too - she adds - But don't feel too flattered, I miss Lily more - she says in a joke.
- Of course, I know that - he follows her joke - I'm just the hot bonus that came with her - he jokes this time.
- I refuse to answer to that - Maya says refusing to believe the feelings he was making her feel - Speaking of, where is Lily? - she asks.
- Well - he looks at his watch, noticing how late was - I'm hoping she's sleeping by now - he adds before deciding to walk back to his place.
- I have her for weeks in my place, she's in bed - Maya says, remembering how Lily was in bed at 8 because she always was in bed at that time with Lucas reading her a story.
- If we weren't on bad terms with Riley, I totally would go and check on her - he says walking away from the park - Did you know she gets an apartment a few blocks from my house? It's actually nice because in that way I don't have to drive all the way to Cory and Topanga - he comments.
- Interesting that you bring that up - Maya says in a playful tone - Are you trying to make me jealous Mr. Friar? - she asks him.
- Does it show? - he asks back before let a soft laugh escape his mouth - It's your fault actually, I don't like that blonde guy who's with you on all your Instagram pictures - he tries to justify himself.
- You know he's gay, right? - she asks.
Lucas just takes a moment before giving an answer - I would like to retire my statement - he says.
Maya just giggles - Gosh, you're cute - she says.
They both spend a few seconds completely silent.
Lucas was the first to broke it - I've... I've been thinking too much - he finally confesses.
- About? - she asks him, a bit scared of his answer.
- Us - Lucas answers drily.
- Oh - she softly says - Care to share your thoughts? - she asks him, feeling how her heart rate starts to rise.
- Maybe when you come back - Lucas replies - I've been thinking a lot, and it's not something we can chat on the phone - he adds.
Maya felt something sink in her stomach - Should I worry? - she asks.
- Don't know how to answer to that - Lucas replies.
- Oh - she softly says.
They stay silent for a few seconds again.
- Call you next week? - Maya asks him.
- I'll be waiting for it - Lucas answers.
- Bye - she softly says.
Lucas wasn't able to reply to that, she finished the call before he had the chance.
Days went by, and through the weeks he was able to perceive a certain coldness every time they talk on the phone, and that only makes his regret heavier.
What kind of relationship starts hiding the fact that you just divorced?
The answer was easy.
The worst kind.
And of course, it's not only that, it's not like he forgets to tell her.
I plan on telling her once, and only once she came back from London, the sole premise makes him feel stupid.
But then his nightmares came back.
What if, because he tells her that he just divorced, she doesn't take the Tate Modern offer to stay with him?
He knew where that kind of frustration ends.
Tumblr media
- Daddy, your hand is sweating - Lily softly says to her father while she dries her hand with her sweatshirt.
Lucas just looks at his daughter - I'm so sorry Lily, your Father is a bit nervous today - he apologizes and dries his hand against his jeans.
- It's because Aunt Maya is coming back today? - she asks him.
- I'm gonna say, Mom, am I right? - he asks back.
- yes, you are - Lily answers laughing.
- This is the best game I've ever invented - Lucas says while Lily make him stop - What? - he asks and Lily slowly climb him like a koala - Awww my tiny Koala is tired - he says pressing Lily cheeks with his fingers - What do you say little Koala, Ice creams and then I drop you with your Mom? - he asks her.
- Can I get cookies too? - she asks him.
- Nope, you already eat donuts this morning, and you know the rules - he denies, only to see his daughter pout - Don't pout, you're gonna get wrinkles - he adds.
Lily fastly stops, making him laugh.
40 minutes later, Riley was outside her building waiting for them, when she saw Lucas' car park she smiled.
Lucas and Lily walk out the car and Lily fastly runs to her mother - Mommy - she screams before hugging her legs.
- Lil' Koala - Riley says and caresses her daughter's hair - Lucas - she greets him.
- Riles - Lucas answers automatically, noticing in the second the disgust when she heard that nickname - Sorry - he apologizes.
- No need - she replies, then she softly gets on her daughter's height - I have a surprise for you - she says and Lily look at her like she was the sun - Grandma finally show me the secret of her Chard-Bread pudding and she gives me an 8 on the Topanga scale - she adds.
- I'm guessing you need someone to confirm that grade - Lily says and gets away from Riley, only to run to Lucas, only for him to pick her - Sorry Dad, but duty calls - she says and puts a kiss on his cheek, before he put her back down, letting her start her run to her mother's apartment.
Once she disappears in the elevator, Riley looks at Lucas again - You know you're more than welcome to stay for dinner - she says.
Lucas just gives her a sad smile - Sorry, have an appointment in a few less than 2 hours - he says looking at his watch.
- Ok - Riley replies with a nostalgic smile - Say Hi to her for me - she adds before walking back inside her building.
For a strange reason, Lucas felt bad for her.
18:34 was the time Lucas get out his car. White cardboard in his hand, with a huge “Shortstack” written on it.
It was finally the time, 3 months ended 2 days ago, and her flight was arriving in less than 30 minutes.
For a strange reason, tachycardia strikes again, but he was happy, so he just blames the excitement for watching her again in front of him for that.
37 minutes later, his heart starts to beat again like when he was 16. She was there, in front of him, so he just jogs a bit to her and hugs her - God I missed you so much - he says.
Maya stays silent for a second - Hey - she softly says hugging him back.
Lucas notices how light she was traveling, but decide to not say anything - I have a surprise for you - he says instead.
She looks at him and smiles - It is a pecan pie? -she asks.
Lucas just looks at her surprised - How in the world did you guess it? - he asks back, only to hear her laugh.
- My nose is the best in town - she replies while Lucas takes her handbag and holds her hand.
Once they get into his car, Maya started to eat the pie.
- Lord knows I've missed you Pecan pie - she says while she takes a bite with the plastic fork Lucas give to her a few seconds ago.
- Wow, that's Love - he says with a smile on his face, making her laugh.
- Do you think Pecan pie loves me too? - Maya asks him.
- How can he not? - Lucas asks back before turning on his car and drives them away from the airport.
Less than an hour later, they both arrive at Maya's apartment.
Maya lays on the floor - My overly expensive apartment, you don't know how much I missed you - she says and then gets up only to lay on the sofa - My sofa remembers me - she says feeling her body fits in the sofa.
- You're like a kid - Lucas says and sits on the floor, next to her - Should I order something to eat? - he asks her.
Maya smiled at him and put a kiss on his lips - You are the best - she says.
Lucas laughs - You really believe that or you're only saying that because I'm feeding you? - he asks her.
- A bit of both - she says and softly caresses his hair.
Lucas just smile, it was like everything was back to normal, she watches TV, he asks for Chinese food, then they eat, they smile, and they had a great time.
He was able to say that everything was going smooth for him until her words bring him back to a reality, he hadn't thought too much since he saw her.
- So, is one of the things you thought during this time a valid reason to hide from me the fact that you divorced on Lily's birthday? - she asks him.
Lucas just froze, take a sip of his Pepsi - Who told you? - he asks back, knowing there was no point in hiding it.
- So, it is true - Maya says and moves her sight from Lucas.
- It is - Lucas confirms - I've been divorced for a bit more than 3 months - he adds.
Maya just stays silent and cover her face with her hands - You know you're an asshole, right? - she says, more like a fact than as a question.
- Please don't judge me - Lucas begs and for the first time avoid to look at her.
He hurt her.
- Why? - she asks.
- Josh told you - he points out - He probably tells you why I hide it from you - he adds.
- Don't put this on him - Maya defends Josh - You're the one hiding things from me - she adds.
- Didn’t he tell you the why? - he asks her.
- I refuse to believe the BS he gave me as an explanation - she replies, feeling her anger grow bit by bit.
Lucas just looks at her in disbelief - Excuse my rudeness, but now I'm surprised, exactly what did he tell you? - he asks this time.
- He told me you hide it because you wanted me to take the job instead of staying here with you - she answers.
Lucas looks at her surprised this time, and if he was honest, a bit angry - And that's BS for you? - he asks - I can't believe it - he adds.
- Was that the reason? - Maya asks him getting up from the sofa - Wow, that's a lot of confidence in me and how stronger my feelings are - she adds in full sarcasm.
- It's not like that - Lucas says, trying to calm himself, and if he's lucky, calm her too - It's not a matter of ego - he adds.
- Well, it doesn't look like that - Maya replies - Just tell me the truth - she says, still refusing to believe that excuse.
Lucas just looks at her like she punched him in the face - I did tell you the truth - he adds and walks to her door.
- Really manly, go on, run from me! run from my questions! - she yells at him from the living room.
Lucas stops with the doorknob in his hand - Goodnight Maya - he says and walks out her apartment.
Maya wasn't surprised when the morning light starts to bright in her living room. "A living room you haven't leave since Lucas walks out of your apartment last night" she reminds herself.
Even when he was furious with him for hiding that from her, she knew that wasn't enough to make her stop loving him, and that infuriates her.
That's why she was completely surprised when she heard her door unlocking, only to see Lucas walk-in, perfect shirt, coffee, doughnuts, and sunglasses.
- What are you doing here? - she asks him, not with the intention to push him away.
- Well, I wanted to calm down a bit, wanted for you to calm down too, and that wasn't gonna happen with us in the same room - he answers before walking to her and sits next to her on the floor - Also, you deserve an explanation - he adds and opens the doughnut box, to take a Boston cream - And last but not least, I love you, and I think that is the most important reason of all the ones I listed before - he says and smiles at her before taking a massive bite of the doughnut.
- I do love you too Lucas - she says and let her head rest on his shoulder before taking a doughnut - I'm sorry - she apologizes.
- For what? I was wrong, I knew I was wrong when I decided to hide it, but if you let me explain why I did it anyway, I think you might understand my point of view - he replies and kisses her forehead.
- Did you get me a caramel macchiato? - she asks him.
- Yes - he replies with a smile on his face - because that's how much I love you - he says, making her blush a bit.
- Liar, you've known my coffee order since high school - she replies.
- Take the hint - Lucas softly says and then sit a bit straighter, making Maya lose her stand - Anyways - he started, trying to avoid what he just confessed - There was a reason for me to hide my divorce from you - he adds.
Maya just looks at him, this time with a serious tone in her eyes - Do I really want to hear this? - she asks him.
- It's nothing bad, it's more like conclusions people do after what happened to me - Lucas answers before putting his hand over Maya's hand - Do you have any regrets, Maya? - he asks her.
Maya takes a few seconds to answer - A few - she says.
- At this moment, I'm pretty sure regret is what break-up my marriage - he says - Not mine, I was happy, I, I - he tried to say but it was still painful to actually let the words escape his chest - Sorry - he apologizes and takes a drink of his coffee - I really believed I had the perfect family - he continues - A wife who loved me, a daughter who loved me, a nice home, my dream job, money to support my family, that was my top of the mountain - he explained before feeling Maya's head rests on his shoulder again - Don't feel bad, it's just a mountain - he adds.
Maya put a soft kiss on his cheek - I'm gonna start calling you Huckleberry The White - she jokes, making him laugh.
- Please don't - he replies - Anyways, I think the regret was what break my marriage because of all the things Riley sacrifice to take care of our daughter - he says and Maya looks at him confused - Riley is a person destined to do great things, greater than what her mother has done, but she had to put that on hold because someone needed to take care of Lily on the first years of my clinic - he explained - I was in the clinic 12 hours every day, usually stay late to check on the supplies and still, after all that, everything seems to go perfect for me, Lily didn't resent me for skipping the first years of her life and I started to make loads of money, and I think that turn the regret into anger - he adds.
- Why you're trying to justify her so badly? - Maya asks him.
- I'm not trying to justify her - Lucas replies - I'm trying to understand her - he adds - It's the only way to move on - he says - That's why I hide my divorce from you - he continues - I was scared that you might decide to not take Josh's offer to stay with me, and I know how important this was for you and your career - he finally explains why he did it.
- I would never do what she did to you - Maya defends her integrity.
- That doesn't take the nightmares of that happening from me - he says and Maya just hold his hand - 1 time almost kill me, first from alcoholism, and second, from all the times I thought about, you know - he says taking a tiny pause - Pull the trigger - he confesses.
Maya didn't want to, but her tears start to flow from her eyes, reacting to his story.
- And when I was at my lowest point, I get it, I understood what I did wrong - Lucas says feeling the knot in his throat - I force Riley to put me as her priority, and that should never be, you should be your number one priority, not an idiot who thinks he can pull anything from his hat, and honestly, I don't want that for you, I can't risk any little chance of you resenting me because you put me as your priority - he says, feeling a bit lighter from confessing the truth.
Neither of them was able to say anything for a few minutes after that.
Maya takes a deep breath and kisses his hand - Do you love me? - she asks him.
- With all my heart - Lucas answers in a second - Do you? - he asks back.
- Since that stupid 10 second relationship - she answers making him and herself laugh.

— ❝ wait is that DAVID HARBOUR ? or is that JOSEPH "JOE / JOEY" RIZZO who arrived in las vegas THIRTY-ONE YEARS AGO? HE is a FORTY-FOUR year old. last time i checked he was the CHIEF OF POLICE, LVMPD. rumour has it he's very TWO-FISTED and very BROODING. the CISMALE reminds me of SHAKE A LEG by ACDC.
hey ya’ll lmao. it’s ya girl cat, back w another shitty ass character bio (i play sloane too, in case u weren’t aware). hope u enjoy!
hailing from brooklyn, new york, rizzo was raised by an extremely italian, roman catholic family. we’re talking grandfather-straight-off-the-damn-boat from italy, might as well be a fuckin pepperoni italian. there, he lived in a compact two-story in the city with his grandfather, grandmother, mother, father and six aunts/uncles and older brother. he was youngest of all eight children (in conclusion: he’s baby and has been All Along).
his grandfather had celiac disease that was misdiagnosed as paranoid schizophrenia due to time-appropriate lack of medical knowledge, and was thus continually hospitalized throughout joseph’s early life. though reportedly abusive during his episodes, joey disputes this as he was too young to remember. by age three, his aunt tessie died in an automobile accident.
at age six, his mother and father split. his father was heavily involved in the mob scene and often brought home “dirty money,” though he swore off gang-related activity in his early twenties at the insistence of julia, joe’s mother. with his mother working wherever, however and whenever she could to bring in money, he spent much time with his nonna ----- fellas, this man is a highkey certified Grandma’s Boy. he was nonna’s favorite. he would do everything with her; laundry, cooking, help take care of his grandfather, and she even taught him how to play piano (said it built character). with his grandfather on high doses of thorazine (anti-psychotic) by this point, all he could do is pace and smoke cigarettes.
by the age of 10, following in the foot steps of his father and uncles, joey was beginning to get into some bad shit of his own (they say they start younger and younger???? ya’ll need ta RECOGNIZE). when his grandmother found out, she vowed she’d beat him senseless unless he shook himself of his “demons.” he obeyed. as if to reinforce her point, his father was murdered by the mob for dishonesty/unpaid dues just before his thirteenth birthday. he, his mother and his brother relocated to las vegas for fear of being sought after.
in las vegas, joey had no problem making friends. in high school, joey turned to sports to help cope with his anger issues. he was captain of the boxing team.
after high school, joseph turned to law with the hopes of making his mother proud. he worked as a homicide detective for many years before earning the title of chief of police. he’s been the police chief for the last ten years.
joe is an honest man, and not very political. even so, earning the title of police chief came with its own set of trials and tribulations. having taken over office from the previous police chief, there is still a lot of corruption joey is currently trying to overrule. it has in turn made him very unpopular in the eyes of the wealthy. as a result, joey is left to choose between the lesser of two evils in order to maintain balance between classes: which sometimes entails a level of corruption of his own. in short, he is trying to keep from being a scullion to different political influences.
joe has a bad drinking problem. he went through a cocaine period in the 70s, but has since kicked the hard stuff. even so, he is constantly under scrutiny for his behavior. he was even investigated for using confiscated substances though the case trailed cold, and no verdict was ever reached. he maintains he has never once abused his power as a lawman.
joe is the kind to shove you into the wall and then kiss ur head afterwards if we’re being honest. he loves kids, but hates punkassery. as long as u respect him, he’s lenient
joe is brazen and rough around the edges. though short-tempered, he has a strong intuition that is usually dead on. when he finds a lead, he’s like a dog with a bone.
joe has been married exactly once. he has an estranged daughter who also lives in las vegas.
he’s a sagittarrius lmfao
he’s just :( Trying His Best ok :( (he not tho)
 wanted interactions (will be updated):
police informant: could be anyone tbh. what this would entail is one person (or could be several tbh, whoever’s interested) giving joe details about a specific situation (could be a drug distributing sitch, could be literally anything idc) in exchange for immunity. police informants were really popular in the 70s/80s especially (they’re still used today i believe? idk ya’ll i’m a pharm student tbh) and were especially useful in local cases. whoever is interested in this plot should know that their character would have to have been caught up in a situation that joe needs info on, and thus caught by him in order for this deal to be offered.
two foes, one common goal: again, could be anyone, but preferably someone in a position of power (doesn’t have to be political whatsoever, could be someone making a lot of money in something). this is a “you scratch my back, i’ll scratch yours” arrangement between two people who shouldn’t get along.
estranged daughter, caring dad: DOES NOT have to be a character made for this situation tbh. she doesn’t even have to have the same last name! just someone who would be interested having this ole gentle giant as their dad and allowing him to constantly bug you wanting to form a relationship. :”)
drinking buddy: this would be a type of situation where this person is always the last person at last call except for him. pros: this dude slowly opening up 2 u over time, like a lil flower :”) :”) :”)
that’s all i got, but i’ll update over time. thank u for reading i’m so sry this is trash i rly tried i have 3 brain cells luv u comment rate subscribe tahnks :) <3

(-1) Lance interrupting Coran’s explanation (-1) Why is it ALWAYS Lance’s fault (-1) Keith is kind of a dick to the other cadets (-1) Voltron makes us automatically strongly dislike Griffin, but they expect us to cheer for him later in the season with no apology or acknowledgement (-1) We still don’t know Keith’s dad’s name (-1) Shiro’s disease is introduced, but never explained or brought up again after this episode (-1) No explicit gay representation (-1) Using Hunk as bait “because he’s the biggest” (-1)
Points: 29
Rating:10/10 Honestly one of my favorite episodes this season
Episode 2: The Road Home
Pros: Pidge reacting realistically as a child her age to not being about to contact her family (+1) The young paladins are so excited to go home (+1) “I hope I’m not grounded” (+1) Lance’s little ghost (+1) Enthusiasm (+1) Lance’s description of elephants (+1) Allura and Coran’s reaction to elephants (+1) Allura is terrible at drawing (+1) Arguing like a real family over who gets to sit with whom (+1) Learning the Altean alphabet (+1) Romelle wanting to save the day (+1) Literally the worst arrangement possible (+1) Pidge ignoring everyone to play video games (+1) “He’s super drool-y” (+1) Early indicators of the time skip (+1) The wolf teleports between lions and everyone is amazed (+1) Lance using quiznak wrong again (+1) New weapons and formations show something is wrong, namely the pirates and time skip(+1) “It’s super dangerous…it’s perfect” (+1) Keith trusting Lance to help them (+1) “Rodger that, Team Leader!” (+1) Krolia taking care of Shiro (+1) Coran gets trapped which helps in the next episode, thinking ahead (+1) Krolia is a badass (+2) Hunk flipping out of his lion (+1) getting a bayard upgrade (+1) TURRETS (+1) Allura is a badass (+1) Romelle is fearless and also a badass (+1) Pidge talking to the wolf (+1) Wolfie saves Pidge and Lance (+1) Paladins are captured! I love angst (+1)
Cons: The power cores of the lions become a writing crutch (-1) 18 MONTHS (-1) Why is everything ALWAYS Lance’s fault? (-1) Coran being more annoying (immature?) than previous seasons (-1) Power core’s mean the lions can’t fight. It completely negates all their experience (-1) the Lions can’t form Voltron (of course) (-1) Everyone except Pidge and Lance get to have their awesome moment (-2) The wolf is injured saving Pidge and Lance (-1)
Points: 24
Rating: 8/10 I adored the first half of this episode. I struggled to maintain my focus on the second half. There are too many characters moving around the battlefield, and it makes it slightly more difficult to care because I only REALLY care about our originals.
Episode 3: A Way Forward
Pros: Zethrid and Ezor are back (+2) Lance is a dork (+1) Coran’s memoir (+1) The mice to the rescue (+1) The wolf can’t teleport Coran because he’s hurt, thinking ahead (+1) Coran knocked a guy out with his crotch (+1) Getting in disguise (+1) “I will always take care of you Ezor” (+1) They’re gay? Gay?? Are they Gay? (+1) Torture! I LOVE ANGST (+1) Coran tries so hard come up with a story (+1) Acxa is back (+1) Hunk making friends (+1) The power of teamwork (+1) Team Voltron does, in fact, have a soft spot for the small one (+1) LANCE immediately defending Pidge and rushing to her aid despite being handcuffed (+3) Shape shifting Coran (+1) Mice to the rescue AGAIN (+1) Lance taking care of Coran (+1) Coran calling Lance Allura (+1) Keith has flippity hair (+1) Keith summoning his bayard from across the room (+2) “Lance lead the team” (+1) Lance being concerned for Keith (+1) “Can’t we just fight?!” (+1) Paladin campfire (+1)
Cons: Why is Lance always written so stupid! (-1) “Will someone shut him up?!” (-1) No faith in Coran (-1) Zethrid doesn’t listen (-1) Why couldn’t Coran do this alone? (-1) Why couldn’t they show Coran as capable? (-1) Why couldn’t Coran put up a better fight? Let him have a MOMENT (-2) Forced romance between Acxa and Keith (-5) Identifying explosives based on two seconds of observation (-1) Time skip (-10)
*ten points might seem like a lot, but time skips are incredibly lazy writing. An author writes a world and a time period, but suddenly they decide they want something else, so they skip ahead. It undermines all the relationships and events from the first six seasons. The explanation isn’t bad; inter-dimensional travel would certainly cause time dilation, but it leaves the rules of the universe in a float-y and ambiguous. Anything can happen, and at this stage of the show they should really be wrapping up plot lines, not telling us the universe has been thrown BACK into turmoil after SIX SEASONS with only 13 episodes left. This episode also loses the points for it because this is where it is confirmed*
Points: 6
Rating: 6/10 I didn’t dislike this episode. I was glad to see the return of the generals, but I was fairly upset by the demonstration of Coran as this completely bumbling, failing fool. We know Coran is wise, kind, strong, and capable. He deserves better.
Episode 4: The Feud!
Pros: This whole concept (+3) Keith’s soft confused voice (+1) Lance’s pose as his name is called (+1)  Bob is genuinely charismatic (+1) the cute boots (+1) the paladin’s cute nods (+1) Keith’s spin (+1) Pineapple Keith (+2) Artist Keith (+1) Keith breaking the pen (+1) Hunk’s cheer (+1) The Galra team (+1) “My lovely wife Haggar” (+1) Grumpy Lotor (+1) Quippy Zarkon (+2) Galra team cheer (+1) Artist Lotor (+1) Lotor smacking Movak (+1) Lance angst (+1) Terra advertisement (+1) Beautiful Lance (+1) More Galra dances (+1) The paladins spelling ROLO (+1) Bii-Boh-Bii (+1) Lance’s babbling is the only one who could have gotten Bii-Boh-Biis game (+2) Sal is still using Hunk’s recipe (+1) Pidge being brainy (+1) Mini golf (+1) Pidge tackling Bob like a badass (+1) The paladins all chose each other, selfless (+1) Each is given compliments and assurances of their importance (+5) Luxia’s kingdom and Plaxum’s bakery (+2)
Cons: WHY THE HELL IS LANCE SO BAD AT EVERYTHING (-1) He isn’t stupid! He knows what these things are! Stop writing him as a MORON (-3) “Lance would you stop talking!” (-1) ….the dumb one? (-10) He’s a social person, why wouldn’t he remember names? (-2) “You’re team is starting to lose faith in you, Lance” (-1) Lance ends up in the Garflator (-1) Lance did say “Bii” (-1) Lance, after giving Keith a GENUINE COMPLIMENT, is told he is too annoying to spend eternity with (-10) Lance is NEVER reassured that he is not stupid by ANYONE on the team (-5)
Points: 7
Rating: 7/10 I enjoyed this episode, I REALLY DID. It was a fun, softer episode after the action-packed start of the season. I LOVED the idea of a game show episode, but everyone was SO MEAN to LANCE? Don’t get me wrong, I actually enjoy the angst, but no one comforted him or complemented him. It was sad.
Episode 5: The Ruins
Pros: Adorable sleeping paladins (+1) Pidge’s nightmare (+1) 15 more minutes (+1) “Like mother, like son” (+1) Hunk giving up to have breakfast (+1) Keith gets out and is salty (+1) Lance making a plan that works (+1) Hunk is an excellent chef (+1) Using the wolf to deliver food (+1) KOSMO (+1) Keith waiting the dog to tell him his name (+1) Lance acknowledging Hunk is fantastic (+1) MeMaw’s cooking (+1). Knowing the Blade code (+1) Recognizing magic damage (+1) Kosmo knows what’s up (+1) Romelle trying to patch up relationships (+1) The Blade’s sacrifice (+1) Keith refers to himself as a Blade (+1) Surprise druid! (+1) Keith’s wolf saved him from the time grenade (+1) Tension of the under the bridge scene (+1) Using the wolf’s teleportation to your advantage in battle (+1) Kolivan is alive (+1) Allura saves everyone with her magic (+1) Using your Galra ears? (+1) EPIC SWORD THROW (+1) “Good job Keith” (+1) Haggar probably has the Alteans (+1) “I love you too mom” (+3)
Cons: Keith being a bit of a hard ass (-1) unbeatable simulators (-1) hundreds of Blades died (-1) how were two blades and the princess able to kill four druids, but it takes hundreds of blades to take down one druid (-1) Exposition dump (-1) Killing the Blades for almost no reason? (-1) The same druid Keith fought in season 2? (-1) Keith continuing to be a lone wolf, even in battle (-1) Allura’s magic is a plot crutch (-1) The team is free and help Keith, but apparently can’t stop stumbling over each other long enough to be more than a distraction to the druid (-3) I honestly don’t know how Keith saw him, heard him, felt him? (-1) Krolia leaves Keith (-1)
*Krolia’s death is telegraphed SO HARD and I’m glad it didn’t happen*
Points: 17
Rating: 5/10 This episode kind of bored me. We had a good solo Keith fight and some truly wonderful moments between Keith and his mother, but it just didn’t keep my attention as steady as I would have hoped.
Episode 6: The Journey Within
Pros: Shiro and Keith trying to keep the team focused (+1) Lance’s totally right, something tries to kill them (+1) Hunk’s pun (+1) “This is why no one rides with me” (+1) No one letting Allura take the blame (+1) Shiro’s right, the paladin’s have been struggling to find balance for about four seasons now (+1) “We always come back” (+1) The paladins lift each other up (+3) When Keith thought Pidge was asking what flight formations were (+1) Lance using quiznak right (+1) Keith trying to keep them together (+1) Ziplines instead of magic (+1) Hunk keeps his stomach (+1) Paladins holding hands in space (+1) “We have each other” (+1) Lance reassuring Hunk (+1) Sound offs (+3) Keith referring to his time in the quantum abyss (+1) Pidge calculates pi for fun (+1) “Hadoop” (+1) Paladins look freaking awful (+1) The paladins really do be going through it (+1) Not letting go of Keith (+1) Lance initiating sound off (+1) Hunk trying to keep everyone together (+1) Lots of angst (+1) Hunk acknowledging that the paladins are afraid to be afraid (+1) Hunk in general in this episode (+1) Not letting Keith leave (+1) “Are we really even friends?” (+1) Hunk being the voice of reason (+1) Hunk being a good shot (+1) with a MASSIVE energy blast (+1) Hunk being incredibly heroic (+1) Paladins not abandoning him (+1) KEITH APOLOGIZES (+1) The power of friendship (+1) Paladins fighting a huge monster with just their bayards (+1) Lions to the rescue (+1) Forming Voltron (+1) LANCE AND KEITH TEAM BAYARD UPGRADE (+3) “did something try to kill us?” “yup” (+1)
Cons: Four weeks of empty space (-1) Shiro being snappy at Lance (-1) No one goes after Pidge when she flies off (-1) Were the paladins actually hallucinating? Group hallucinations? (-3) Keith snapping at Hunk (-1) Hunk doesn’t want to be a paladin anymore (-1) Keith STARTED the argument (-1) Hitting where it hurts (-1) “Guess I don’t know how to be a coward” (-1) Lance and Allura do not apologize to Keith (-2) No explanation of what exactly the bayard upgrade is (-1) Timeline confusion? Due to Lance and Keith did they get there faster? Not 18 months? How long did the paladins spend in empty space? (-3)
Points: 32
*When I think about this episode after the fact it leaves a bit of a bad feeling in my stomach and a bad taste in my mouth, but that might just be because I abhor the idea of being lost in space*
Rating: 8/10 I think the reason this episode got more points was for interpersonal relationships. People don’t watch this show for the plot, they watch it for the characters. So when you put just the characters in space alone you can really reflect who they are as people. That being said, there was a ton of wasted potential this episode. Liked it, but I could have loved it
Episode 7: The Last Stand Part 1
Pros: Pidge tearing up (+1) The Galra are at EARTH (+1) Appropriate reaction (+1) Colleen Holt (+1) Realistically messy hair, her entire family was missing (+1) Collen knowing where her kids are (+1) “You’ll get me clearance” (+1) Sam Holt throwing shade (+1) Colleen with her short hair (+1) AW Garrison pictures (+1) Sam starting formal and ending with “Pidge, this is dad” (+1) More new characters (+1) Cool new Garrison ships! (+1) Colleen knowing what is best (+1) Informing the world of what’s up (+1) Messages back home (+5) Paladin families! (+3) Iverson isn’t a dick? (+1) Particle barrier that works better than the Castle of Lions’ (+2)
Cons: Evilish military (-1) Sam Holt is a prisoner (-1) More timeline confusion, two years ago? (-1) Exposition dump (-1) We really didn’t need Sam Holt to explain everything, we know, we could have skipped this part (-2) Keeping secrets from Earth (-1) Even more characters (-1) Losing the Voltron Coalition Rebels (-1) I can forgive Iverson for being a dick to Lance…I’ll forgive but I won’t forget (-1)
*Telegraphing the new squadron as the new paladins of Voltron. Don’t know if this is intentional or not, but it makes me nervous. I don’t really want a new generation of pilots, but I also want the paladins to be happy. If the paladins want to stay on Earth I don’t think I would hate the new pilots. *
Points: 16
Rating: 3/10 It was…boring. Not overtly BAD, just really boring. There was a TON of information we didn’t need to hear again. I admire that the show wanted to show that they DID tell the Garrison, but we didn’t need to hear it again. I also don’t really care about any of these new characters, I care about the paladins. This could have been done in one episode, but they stretched it out to two.
Episode 8: The Last Stand Part 2
Pros: Sendak is back (+1) Elephants (+1) Strong particle barrier (+1) Sendak’s strong battle strategy (+1) Veronica! (+1) The paladins do return (+1) Sam Holt making inspirational speeches (+1) Sam Holt using quiznak (+1) Veronica throwing shade (+1) I like her too Rizavi (+1) Veronica is a badass (+1) Self-sacrifice (+1) Leifsdotter remembering the way home (+1) Sam Holt’s unwavering faith in Voltron (+1) “Silence promotes haste” (+1) Recognizing moral (+1) Sam Holt’s ringtone is the Voltron theme (+1) Lance’s family (+1) Smart strategy to contact Voltron (+1) More Sam Holt speeches (+1)
Cons: Tons of human death??? (-5) Killing a ton of Garrison pilots (-1) Killing Adam after barely any screen time (-3) The whole supply run is COMPLETELY unnecessary. This feels so disconnected from the rest of what the show is (-2) Making us think Veronica is dead when we know it’s utter B.S. (-3) Herding up humans.  It’s a bit too serious? (-1) Veronica is dead for all of two minutes (-1) The resistance doesn’t really do shit? (-1) Even more time line confusion. Has the Garrison been on its last legs for two years? (-1) Playing the same clip of Voltron 3 times (-1)
Points: 0
Rating: 2/10 The show can’t decide what it wants to be. Is it a children’s show that won’t show blood? Or is a show aimed at older audiences where thousands of people are killed and rounded up to become slaves? This episode was also mostly unnecessary. The time line is also SO HARD to work out. Did Sam send the last communication JUST as Voltron arrived at the Milky Way? Another fairly boring episode to boot.
*This episode also made people angry because of the ‘bury your gays’ trope where people who are canonically gay are usually killed off. However, there is conflicting information about whether Adam and Shiro were really in a relationship. It was just bad marketing on Voltron’s behalf to announce Shiro was gay and then disappoint fans, especially considering what Voltron’s fanbase is like*
Episode 9: Know Your Enemy
Pros: Sam correctly figuring out how Sendak works (+1) Helping the paladins cut off communication (+1) LANCE’S BAYARD UPGRADE (+1) Pidge’s plan is very smart (+1) The mice and Kaltenecker (+1) Throwback to the first episode, being cramped in the Blue Lion (+1) The paladins are home (+1) Lance leading the formation (+1) Hunk bringing up the rear (+1) Keith and Lance working together (+1) “Don’t miss” (+1) Lance nailing the shots (+4) Pidge leaping into her mom’s arms (+1) “Uncle Lance!” (+1) Lance tearing up (+1) Sliding into a family hug and being drowned in people (+3) Hunk family flashback (+1) Hunk’s spaceship noises (+1) Iverson apologizes to Shiro (+1) Coran sticking up for Shiro (+1) Iverson apologizes to Keith (+1) Keith has matured as well (+1) Coran’s explanation of Kosmo’s power (+1) Shiro mourning Adam (+1) Hunk trying to protect people (+1) Sam standing up for Hunk (+1) The Atlas is amazing (+1) Shiro standing strong against the Admiral (+1) Allura knowing her shit (+1) Sam making prosthetics for injured soldiers (+1) Hunk’s flashback to fixing cars (+1) Keith offering help (+1) Hunk opening up (+2) Keith being so impressed with how brave Hunk is (+3) Hunk and Keith hug (+3) Awkward Keith (+1) Keith going with Hunk to get his family (+1) Sendak’s memories coming back is great long term writing (+1) Altea being destroyed because it refused to give up (+1) Flashback to Hunk’s baking (+1) Hunk’s mom (+1) Allura making Shiro a new arm! (+1) Hunk’s determination! (+1)
Cons: What exactly is the bayard upgrade? It’s still unexplained (-1) Why does the Earth team know more about the Galra than the paladins (-3) Griffin is still a dick (-1) Hunk’s family is missing (-1) Weird looks between Griffin and Keith, but no resolution? (-1) Shiro getting literally 30 seconds to mourn Adam (-1) All resistances were wiped out (-1) Griffin yelling at Hunk??? What the Fuck? Are we still supposed to be rooting for this guy? (-3) The Admiral isn’t stupid, why would she think the Galra would stick to this deal (-3) Lance goes missing after the first 3 minutes of the episode, unlike every other paladin (-1) Not saving Hunk’s parents (-1)
Points: 36
Rating: 7/10 I adored the family reunions and the Hunk flashbacks. I felt so sorry that Hunk couldn’t rescue his family, but it really motivates him. Overall not a bad episode. It was another prep and build up episode with a lot of exposition, but it’s setting up for the fight with Sendak.
Episode 10: Heart of the Lion
Pros: Sam being concerned for Shiro (+1) The paladins being concerned for Shiro (+1) Allura gives up the last symbol of her being a princess, her crown, for Shiro (+5) Allura’s epic arm tackle (+1) “I feel great” (+1) Keeping in mind civilian casualties (+1) Lance being concerned for his sister (+1) Hunk making friends (+1) Throwback to the maze guiding scene with COMPLETE trust (+3) Keith trusting Lance to cover them (+1) “It’s a…cosmic wolf” (+1) Lance giving GOOD instruction (+1) Really cool paladin tech, sonar imaging? Awesome (+2) Lance and Kinkade making awesome shots and team work (+3) Sibling teasing (+1) Throwback to the distraction scene on the Balmera, but this time Keith gets it (+3) Pidge thrusting (+1) Pidge’s victory laugh (+1) Bringing back the Zaiforge canons (+1) Chaff makes the people invisible (+1) More sibling teasing (+1) Paladins connecting with their lions! (+3) Lions flying next to their paladins (+1) Lance angst (+1) Concern for Lance (+1) Lance protecting his sister (+3) Red to the rescue (+1) Deferring for Keith for leadership (+1) A traitor! (+1) Some really great music this episode (+1) FORMING VOLTRON (+1) off camera! (+1) Voltron got FUCKED (+1) Paladins are captured. I LOVE angst (+1)
Cons: Shiro’s arm isn’t attached? That’s really weird (-1) As much as I love Cosmo, he’s ANOTHER plot crutch (-1) Why did Allura and Griffin come along? They didn’t really assist (-1) What is with Shiro suddenly being the expert on paladin bonds? (-1) Romelle has been missing for several episodes (-1) Lance and Allura sudden and out of nowhere romance? (-5) Why didn’t Lance and Red connect? (-1) Was Lance connecting with Red or getting ready to die? auditory clue would have been appreciated (-1)
*I just want to make it known that I don’t hate Allurance. I’m really okay with that ship if it does become canon. I just don’t like how out of left field it is. 10 episodes ago Allura was basically in love with Lotor. She has shown no interest in Lance in other seasons at all. If you wanted to give Allura feelings for Lance you could have given her blushies when she knocked him on his ass while sword training, or when he said they were a good team in the Monsters and Mana episode, or when she revived him, or when the mice told her what he said to them. ANYTHING. But there was nothing. They didn’t even bond particularly strongly in the journey home from what we saw. *
Points: 38
Rating: 9/10 I loved the action and teamwork in this episode. The whole sequence of infiltrating the base really shows how much the paladins have grown. Lance and Veronica getting attacked and Lance protecting her really made this episode awesome for me, but we also got the paladins deepening their bonds with the lions and Shiro’s new arm!
Episode 11: Trial by Fire
Pros: The Earth team figures out who the traitor is (+1) Shiro’s concern for the paladins (+1) Keith wakes up to hear who the traitor is (+1) Nunville? (+1) Commander Iverson evacuation (+1) Commander Shirogane (+1) Good intentions, still betrayal (+1) Sendak is a smart and cautious villain (+1) Shiro’s white hair doesn’t look that bad (+1) Kinkade’s awesome maneuver (+1) Leifsdottir is adorable and analytical (+1) The castle crystal comes in handy (+1) Leif continues to be a super cute super computer (+1) Altean magic doesn’t give a damn about engineering (+1) CAPTAIN SHIRO (+1) The Atlas is AWESOME (+2) Hunk reminds the paladins to call the lions (+1) Showing the paladins and their lions from the same angles is EXCELLENT cinematography (+5) Piloting the lions remotely (+1) Admiral is a badass (+1) Shiro’s happy laugh that the Paladins are back (+1) “WAIT! We’re still on that ship!” (+1) Redemption and self-sacrifice (+1) Black Lion saves the day (+1) Hunk tackling his door (+1) Ending on a cool group shot (+1)
Cons: Why aren’t the bayards working? (-1) Again, the Admiral shouldn’t have been so stupid to negotiate with the only hope for the universe (-1) It’s unclear how strong the MFEs are in comparison with the lions (-1) The “connect with your lions thing” is also a bit of a plot crutch (-1) Cheap redemption. Having the Admiral continue to fight while injured and give her life makes her seem deserving of redemption, but it’s a manipulation of pathos. Her intentions were good, but she made the wrong choice at every turn (-2)
Points: 25
Rating: 7/10 Another decent episode. Getting the Atlas in flight was amazing, and it utilized the Chekhov’s Gun that was the Castle of Lions Crystal. The Admiral’s sacrifice was a little cheap to me, but it was a lot of learning for her. The most amazing part BY FAR was when the paladins were trying to connect with their lions. They aren’t just the pilots, they ARE the lions, intertwined with their quintessence.
Episode 12: Lions’ Pride Part 1
Pros: Forming Voltron! (+1) Brutal and cynical replacement of Lieutenant Hepta (+1) Forming sword (+1) and shoulder cannon (+1) Amazing lighting on Sam Holt (+1) They do fire on their own ships! (+1) Leif’s battle strategy (+1) Hunk coming in a clutch AGAIN (+1) Clever solutions (+1) Throwback to pushing the shield plates together in season 6 (+1) WORKING PARTICLE BARRIER (+1) Reflecting the beams works (+1) Shiro is a BADASS (+1) Atlas particle barrier to the rescue (+1) Hunk’s parents (+1) “Wouldn’t be the first time” (+1) Poor Shiro, but he saves the day (+1) Sam’s avatar, just like Pidge (+1) “Victory or death” (+1) Lance saving his sister (+1) Lance starting the counterattack (+1) BADASS LANCE (+1) Paladins using their special weapons! (+1) Shiro versus Sendak again, after all this time (+1) Shiro’s awesome new arm (+1) The lions to the rescue! (+1) minimizing casualties (+1) Keith’s awesome finishing move on Sendak (+1) Lion pride! (+1)
Cons: Sudden base cannons? (-1) Didn’t they say there could be citizens inside those bases? (-1) Couldn’t they angle the plates to make the Ziforge cannons destroy themselves? (-1) Is the cannon blowing up a result of Shiro’s work? That’s a bit confusing (-1) I don’t think Shiro could survive falling through Earth’s atmosphere without a helmet (-1) Shiro doesn’t get to beat Sendak. Keith beats Sendak, but Shiro DOESN’T NEED TO BE SAVED. LET SHIRO STOP BEING A DAMSEL IN DISTRESS. Since the moment we MET Shiro he’s had to be saved, let him save HIMSELF. (-5) The season should have ended here, seriously. Or here-ish. The shoved one last battle into this season and it undermines the hard battle they just fought against Sendak (-3)
Points: 16
Rating: 8/10 Every second of this episode was wrapped in tension. Shiro commanding the Atlas is an EXCELLENT way to keep him as part of the action, and he saves the day by taking down Sendak’s ship. The paladins and lions all worked so hard to save the Earth, and the battles were well animated and engaging.
Episode 13: Lions’ Pride Part 2
Pros: Saving Shiro (+1) Yellow Lion to the rescue (+1) Epic new robot weapons (+1) Providing cover for Keith (+1) Atlas to the rescue (+1) Shiro getting back in the fight (+1) Forming Voltron (+1) off camera (+1) Pidge and Lance bayard upgrade! (+3) Sketchy animation! MY FAVORITE (+3) Dual wielding! (+1) Badass sword moves (+1) Pidge bayard upgrade! (+3) MFEs to the rescue (+1) Awesome lighting on the robot (+1) Voltron backflip! (+1) Hunk keeping the people on the ground safe (+1) Atlas mech is huge and badass (+2) Realistically show for a big machine (+1) …Atlas has thicc thighs… I DIDN’T WANT TO SAY IT (+1) Lance and Keith team bayard (+1) EPIC MUSIC (+1) Paladins working together to save the Earth (+1) Self sacrifice (+3) “It’s been an honor to fly with you all” (+3) Fading to white on the paladins, cutting the sound, and the music (+5) Lions crashing in their elements (+1) Shiro’s speech (+1) The paladins live (+1) Paladins healing (+1) with their families (+5) Shay is back! (+1) Rebuilding with help from the universe (+1) Visiting Dad Kogane’s grave (+1) Alteans are back (+1)
Cons: This episode exists! (-3) This new robot is out of nowhere. Thought it was Lotor, thought it was Haggar, was wrong both times (-2) New robot is insanely overpowered (-1) Why is the robot so much more powerful than Voltron? (-1) If Voltron is the most powerful weapon in the universe how does it continually get beaten like this? (-3) How is the Atlas not in pieces? (-1) WHAT??? (-1) How do you ACCIDENTALLY build a giant mech? (-1) I get that the castle of lions gave the ship new abilities, but WHAT??? (-1) Some of the machinery just APPEARS out of NOWHERE (-3) At least Voltron SHOWS us how it’s put together (-1) IT ALSO MAKES ME QUESTION, WHY LIONS? Lion can’t be aerodynamic, or the best armored and now that we see these super powerful humanoid ships it begs the question: why does Voltron have LIONS for HANDS (-5) Of course this robot can change size to fight the Atlas, of course it can (-1) Why didn’t it just get huge to fight Voltron (-1) Last second bomb, but it JUST exploded (-1) Making us believe the paladins are dead (-3) Matt has a girlfriend? (-1)
Points: 24
Rating: 7/10 This episode got a lot of points, but it lost a lot of points, too. I don’t think this episode should have ended the season, but only because it comes out of nowhere. It does set up the next season which I can appreciate. Lots of epic upgrades. I believed for a moment that the paladins had died, and they were setting up the earth team to take their places, but that scene was beautiful. I wish the others had said a little more to each other, just a few lines to say how much they meant to each other, not just Keith. I still think the Earth team might take over for the paladins and they stay on Earth. I REALLY hope that’s not the case.

Average Rating: 6.7/10
Overall, it seems I did enjoy this season. There are some things that I get simple joy from, like the bayard upgrades, and badass fights, but there are a lot of this that happened that could have been improved. My personal favorite episode is the Feud, despite its flaws. It was very funny and gave more character to the paladins. Plus, the scene at the end where they all chose each other, you could genuinely feel the love they had for each other (except Lance).
I think one of the best parts of this season was Hunk! He was a strong, brave, caring character and thought of his family and friends to give him the fire to fight. He really shone in the second half of the season but had some awesome moments in the first half as well! Seeing the flashbacks to his family warmed my heart, and I’m so, so glad he got to see them and Shay again! He was level-headed, and he was acknowledged for his bravery.
One of the main problems I have is with Keith. I really adore Keith, but he is starting to feel a bit like a Mary Sue to me. He’s good at EVERYTHING, and even when given help from the other paladins, still seems to be on a pedestal above them. I still love Keith as a character, but he’s gotten a bit bland as the show moves forward. One of the episodes where I felt like he had CHARACTER was the Journey Within. I’m not saying I want him to revert back to being angry and lashing out, but he felt more like Keith. I understand that as he develops he changes, but let the guy have a little fun! He felt so stiff and strict this season.
Pidge this season was pretty amazing as usual. Her smarts and tech expertise are always a major help to the paladins. I would have liked to see her succeed in combat a bit more this season. She couldn’t fight because her cannon wasn’t charged, she was pinned against the wall by Zethrid, and she was used as a distraction in the base infiltration. Reuniting her family was fantastic though, and it brings a heartwarming close to her story arc.
Shiro was a hero this season. Even with one arm he is fully willing to throw down, and you gotta admire that. I was a little bothered by Shiro suddenly becoming the encyclopedia on bonding with your lion, but it makes sense. He WAS trapped inside the mind of his lion. Even without a lion, Shiro still guides the team and captaining the Atlas was a good position for him. The biggest disappointment for Shiro is that he was announced as Gay and yet there is little to no explicit evidence. I wish he had more time to grieve Adam. As mentioned earlier, I also wished for Shiro to be his OWN savior, and maybe he will next season.
On to Allura! Allura’s best moment of the season for me was when she broke her crown to give Shiro the power source for his arm. To me, that felt like the culmination of Allura’s arc. She isn’t a PRINCESS to them anymore, she’s a paladin. She’s family. Allura doesn’t see herself as the authority over them anymore, but rather as a part of a whole. It’s also a realization of her dream to fight in the war, to be a part of it. She also showed some amazing strength when fighting for a planet that wasn’t even hers because it was important to her family.
Coran Coran the gorgeous man! They did him a bit dirty this season. Coran was always seen as a bit eccentric, but strong and capable when it came down to it. It felt like a major regression this season, even compared to just season 6! In season 6 when Coran set off the bomb in the engine, it was STILL A FUNNY MOMENT without making Coran seem like a total idiot. I wish he could have had ONE victory this season, but all his victories were given to the mice :/ That being said, he does provide the Atlas with a way to be powered, and he does an excellent job at the helm of the Atlas.
Lance…my best boy…. Speaking of doing characters dirty. Yikes! So from the very first episode, things are usually Lance’s fault. I don’t like that, but I don’t HATE it either. The team is also making fun of him from the first episode onward. And again! I don’t think I mind that, but if you’re going to have a character that is a fuck up (which Lance is, and that’s FINE) then when the character does something right you need to have it acknowledged. For example, it’s Lance’s fault they get shrunk, BUT he saves their asses by thinking fast and making an amazing shot. No one acknowledges that. Another example, when Keith kills the druid Lance says, “Good job, Keith!” When Lance shoots four moving drones within two seconds, Keith says nothing, but he DID give him a shifty look before and said, “Don’t miss”, like he didn’t believe in Lance. You can’t have a character that is exclusively mocked by those around them. In addition to that, Lance is called the dumb one over and over in the game show episode. No one on his team stands up for him. Lance couldn’t even get ONE victory that episode. When they were all complementing and validating each other, Lance was picked by his FRIEND to be the only one to leave because he could not STAND the thought of spending forever with ANNOYING, DUMB LANCE. Aside from all of that, Lance had some amazing action moments this season. He is motivated by his love for his sister and family to save her one the ground and begin the attack on the cannons. His reunion with his family was lovely and heartwarming. Again, I don’t really like the romance, but if it happens I’m okay with it.
I wanted to make this post to get what I was feeling out of my head. Usually, I would talk to my sister or brother (who usually watch the show with me), but I can tell that they are getting bored and annoyed with me. It’s helped me evaluate how I feel about the things I didn’t like and appreciate and remember all the things I did.
If you made it this far, thanks! This was really fun to write.

MAY
Jim started dropping off El instead of staying. You could feel him grow more anxious the longer he stayed, the closer you let your bodies get. The longer it went without you talking about your moment, the more the tension grew. You found yourself missing him.
But without Jim there you got to drink and dance more, which was what you wanted out of girls night originally anyway.
You build the knowledge base that Jim has given El of dancing. Which surprises you. You remember him dancing when he was younger, but that wasn't something you'd expect the big man to keep up with. You let her watch MTV, rated R movies and answered any questions she had that she couldn't ask Jim. You were always dancing when he would pull in to pick her up. She'd light up at the sight of him most nights. She grabs her bag and bounds out the door after her polite goodbyes. He had taught her good manners.
He watches the two of you dancing in the living room as he pulls up every time now. He knows you'll switch the music after you lock the door behind El and pour yourself another drink. If he was lucky you'd have an outer layer he'd get to watch you slink off to the beat of a song he couldn't hear. He gets to watch you dance as he pulls away. It was a small thing he was allowing himself to indulge in.
One night he finds himself stalling longer than usual. He'd had a particularly rough day, trying not to share that information with El on his face as she sits next to him in the car.
"I like watching her dance too." El interrupts his time-killing fidgeting.
"Wh-Huh?" he turns his face fast towards her, she's looking at him with big honest eyes.
"Ann." she nods, looking back to you through the window. "She's a good dancer. I like watching her too." she elaborates. He stutters, surprised at her words and the fact that she noticed.
"Yeah. She uh, she is." he says gruffly, trying to recover his indifferent expression.
"If you like watching her, why don't you come inside to dance with her?" she asks, her face indifferent.
"Well, kid, I don't know if she'd want me to do that." he lets out a small laugh as he moves to grab the gear shift.
"She would." she nods again at him. "She says she misses having someone tall and handsome to dance with." El continues, looking back to you again for a moment before moving back to the cabin of the car. "You are tall and handsome. So she would like that." she says flatly, making him laugh out loud, she jumps at his response.
"I'm handsome?" he laughs, it shakes his shoulders and he ruffles her hair. "Where on earth did you hear that one, kid?" he asks, turning in the driveway.
"Ann." she says looking out the window not realizing what she'd given away.
JUNE
You lazily reach over the side of the couch to pick up the ringing phone. You're deep in a book and don't even bother closing it to answer, your eyes finishing the last sentence before you speak.
"Horowitz." you answer flatly.
"Hey Ann." you hear his voice trial slightly on your name.
"Hey hun, what's going on?" you ask casually.
"A lot. Actually." your eyes go a bit wide in concern, but he soothes your nerves almost immediately. "No, not like that." he lets out a small breathy laugh because he could imagine your face on the other end of the line. "I'm going to be out of town with work and I need to call in a favor." he asks reluctantly.
"Uh huh. I see." you answer, "It'll cost you but I might be willing to help." you grin, finally shutting the book and concentrating fully on the conversation.
"Well, it's a big favor. So I will in fact, very much owe you after this." he chuckles.
"Stop making me worry and just tell me." you say with a soft laugh. Since when was he the dramatic one?
"Alright." he clears his throat. "I need you to watch El for me." he says, his voice confident but reserved.
"Jim, that's nothing! When do you need me? You wanna bring her to Joyce's or?" you ask, moving your hand in explanation to no one.
"No I mean at the cabin." he says lower.
"Oh." you say, your mouth remaining in the "O" shape as your eyes move around the room.
"Yeah I'll be gone for two days and I really don't want her alone that long." you hear the love for her in his voice. Your lips pout at the feeling it gives you.
"I think I'm starting to catch on to why this is a big favor." you say lower. So staying confined in his cabin, with his daughter, taking care of her, being very...domestic. You were not surprised he remembered your conversation that well from the night you agreed to stay, but it touched you in a way that made you want to do any favor he asked. You weren't used to people taking your feelings into account first when building relationships before. Until you'd come back home. Here people listened and cared. You get a funny pain in your chest when you dwell on it too long.
"Yeah." he draws out the word. "I don't want to push any weird unspoken boundaries or anything, but if you would stay with her I would really, really-" you cut him off.
"Save the sales pitch, Jim. I'll do it." you say as if it's nothing. There was a moment of silence on the line.
"That..." you hear him exhale. "Thank you so much, Ann you have no idea what this takes off my mind." you can practically hear his shoulders relax in his tone.
"You'll still owe me. Big time. But you know I'll never pass on an opportunity to have the upper hand on you." you give a soft laugh into the receiver. You suppose you were looking forward to the challenge. Time to play house for a few days.
Since El was still on the down low, for the time being, you have secluded to the cabin without Hopper around. Being alone taking care of a kid you were responsible for had been a living nightmare of yours. And look at you now. She was such a polite, quiet kid that you didn't have much trouble out of her. You asked her what she wanted to do and you did it. You played good cop while the bad cop was out of the house. You'd decided to indulge her with rom-coms, nail polish and answered all her questions along the way. You'd read to her and she to you. You'd start board games you didn't read the rules to, making up your own and ended up not finishing, losing many pieces over the span of three days, you'd deal with the consequences later, right now you just had to get her to bed one last time.
He see's your bike tucked away on the side of the house out of the elements. He quietly pads his way to the door, unlocking the door quietly as it was very late already. He was supposed to be back tomorrow but drove home tonight instead of waiting. He looks around and see's no one, but the lamp in the bedroom is on. He takes off his outer layers, getting comfortable. He sees no dirty dishes, laundry folded on the coffee table and he wonders who you must've paid to watch El instead of doing it yourself with the level of housework he notices is finished. Had you gotten her to do all her chores too? He was honestly a bit taken back by the level of thoroughness you'd approached this favor with. He walks to the kitchen, a poorly made cake sits on the counter top, two pieces cut out of it, a big sloppily draw green icing heart on the top. You must've tried teaching her to bake. He laughs as he pokes a finger into the icing, stealing a dollop. He goes to the fridge to find the grocery shopping finished and meal wrapped in foil in the center of the shelf. He shakes his head and smiles at the thought of you both cooking in the kitchen together.
He decides to check on you, he opens the door to find you curled up in a chair pulled up against her bed. She's deep asleep, you're awake, your nose buried in a book, your eyes are intently focused, your brow low. Your cheek rests on your hand, elbow on the arm of the chair. Your socks show from under the blanket you'd wrapped yourself up in. You don't notice him for a few long seconds. He sees you watching over El, having read her to sleep, still staying in the same room as her even though you didn't have to. He felt a deep shift in his chest and stomach at the sight.
As you yawn your eyes leave the book and you see his head between the door and the frame. You mouth 'hey' and take a big stretch as you quietly leave the room.
"You're back early." you whisper, shutting the door behind you after you give her one final glance.
"I just drove home instead of staying the night." he says, moving out of your way as you head to the kitchen, still stretching and yawning.
"Well, welcome back." you grin, opening the fridge and rubbing your eyes, grabbing a soda. "Food's in here for ya if you want it. " you say, moving the door with your hip and leaning against the counter.
He moves past you to get a beer, which you'd also bought. He looks you over, your hair not styled, no makeup and draws back one corner of his mouth in contemplation of the sight.
"You can stop staring. I know you've not seen me all natural and unkempt many times," you say with a small laugh, moving your hand to present yourself, your cotton shorts and a tank top. Your favorite threadbare flannel over it for modesty and to help cover the still dark scars from your encounters last year, the biggest scar across your upper thigh just peaking out beneath the hem of the mid-thigh hitting shorts. "But that doesn't mean you have to make me self-conscious about it." you smirk and shake your head at him.
"That wasn't my intention." he smiles softly at you, his eyes look like they're searching for something in the distance when he looks at you. "I actually was thinking you looked nice until you opened your mouth." you both choke back your laughter.
"That's usually how it goes." you shrug indifferently, keeping your laughter quiet to not wake El. You turn to go sit at the table.
"What did you girls get into while I was away?" he asks, sitting across from you with a grunt.
"You know, the usual. Drinking, drug trafficking, thefts under $500." you pause while he snorts at your words. "Picking up hitchhikers, introducing her to the idea of teenage rebellion against her father, taking candy from strangers," you shrug casually, "You know, the basics. All the things a young girl needs to know." you grin at him, resting your chin on your hand.
"I should've known better than to leave her with you." he narrows his eyes, a warm smile on his face at your comfortable demeanor.
"We watched movies, painted her nails, read a lot actually. She loves that. " you nod and run your finger over the table in thought, trying to recall if there was anything worth mentioning.
"And baked apparently?" he asks, motioning his head to the cake behind him. You let out a small chuckle.
"Well I made cookies, and those are fast. So she assumed baking a cake would be just as easy and she was so excited about the idea of surprising you with a cake I couldn't say no." your face goes soft at the thought.
"Yeah she gets like that sometimes." he smiles at a memory of her. "I guess I should thank you for also doing all the shopping and cleaning too." he says in a sarcastic tone, but he's really just impressed.
"I know how hot and bothered you get when I go all domestic." you get out before the low chuckle escapes you. He blushes and covers his mouth as he laughs, looking away from you. "Couldn't' pass up on the chance to exceed your expectations." you explain, a smile on your face at the red on his face.
"Well, you did. You even got her to do her chores?" he says impressed.
"Yeah, I just put on some music and danced around and helped her. Wasn't an issue at all." you speak with your hands, your face soft and unbothered. "I think we got everything." you chew your lip, looking around the cabin. "I did shopping and we swept, laundry, dishes, restocked the firewood...yeah. I think I held down the fort pretty well." you swing your head back over to him with a proud smile.
"You did exceed expectations yet again." he crosses his arms on the table leaning forward and looking you over again.
"Never get tired of hearing that." you shake your head proudly. "Thanks." you bat your eyelashes and press your chin to your shoulder sheepishly.
"No. Thank you." he points at you before reaching out and taking your hand. He slides his fingers against yours and rests them on the table top, as he looks intently into your eyes. The sudden intimate nature of the gesture catches you off guard as your mouth falls open for a second as you're obviously affected by the small touch. "Seriously." his voice drops and you lean in to match his posture. "Thank you." he says again, squeezing your hand.
"You're welcome." leaning forward and putting both your hands on his, you give him a quick peck for his sweet words. He's giving you that dumb little smile of his, his teeth just barely showing.
"I would've been a mess without you here this weekend." he almost whispers. His smooth tone makes it your turn to blush.
"You're a mess whether I'm here or not, Jim." you pick at him, your nose scrunching but your lips send a different sort of smile his way.
"Yeah, but I prefer to be a mess with you around." he squeezes your hands and pulls you closer, making you put your legs underneath you in the chair to lean on the table to be able to stretch over to him. You shake your head with a reluctance to your actions as his grin grows wider the closer you get. He closes the rest of the space between you and returns the kiss you'd given him, but thankfully this one goes on longer.
"When'd you get so sweet, Jim?" you coo at him, as he lets your hands go, as you slide back into your seat. You don't want El to wake up and see you crawling across the table to her protector. You fluff your hair and sigh at him, your defenses down.
"I could ask you the same question." he answers smugly. His words make you blush. Again.

After slipping back into his jeans, Tom fell back into Livi’s fluffy bed and pondered the night before. The way her soft skin felt against his… how she sounded as he pleasured her… the way the beautiful ink on her sides moved as she squirmed in her bed… the way she smelled as he buried his nose in her hair – like roses and amber. He could smell that scent all around him. Her pillows smelled of it, her sheets… and now him. He knew that he probably needed a shower before he left the flat, but he couldn’t bear to wash her off.             Her bedroom was rather bare, spare for a mirrored bedside table. On it, was a photo of herself and another woman. The other woman laid her head on Livi’s shoulder, and they were in front of a beautiful lake. He made a mental note to ask her who this other woman was later. She couldn’t hide herself from him forever, could she?
Tumblr media
He swung his legs over the side of the bed, and padded into the kitchen to find some food. He couldn’t believe that things were progressing as quickly as they were with Olivia. He really liked her, and hoped that she wouldn’t be scared off by the feelings that he knew were beginning to develop. He made himself an egg, sunny side up, and a couple pieces of toast, that he enjoyed while sitting on her couch. He chuckled to himself as he looked around the living room. What was he thinking, getting involved with a woman that could potentially hurt him? Although, if he was going to be hurt, he’d prefer it to be by a woman like Olivia.                  His phone rang and vibrated against the coffee table. When he looked at the screen, he could see that it was a Facetime Call. “Oh, Chris H. wants to Facetime with me, does he?”                He accepted the call and watched as a large blond man came into view on the screen.               “Hey, Mate!”               “Morning, Chris!”               “Where in the world are you?” Chris asked as he looked at Tom’s background. The last he knew, Tom didn’t have pink pillows and a picture of Audrey Hepburn hanging on his wall.              “Oh, uh… I’m at Olivia’s flat… a woman I met.”              “Ah, yes, I saw her on the internet.”             “She wasn’t too fond of having her name and picture all over the gossip sites.”             “I can imagine not. That’s hard for some people to handle.”             Tom nodded but diverted his eyes to the bookshelf.             “Anyway, I’ll be landing soon.”             “Are you sure you don’t want me to come pick you up at the airport?”             “No… no…I’m renting a car. I’ve got some things to do while I’m in London.”            “Well, alright, then. See you a little later.”            “Later, mate.”            They ended the call, and he finished eating and washed his dishes, leaving the kitchen as clean as it was before he started cooking. He needed to get a move on, as he had to get to rehearsal. He had a performance tonight, and a party afterward. He quickly slipped back into his t-shirt and black cardigan, pulled his suede boots on, and made his way out the door, making sure to lock it on the way out.
               ****
Olivia made her way through London traffic to the hospital, and pulled into her parking spot in the parking garage. She pulled her coat and bags from the passenger seat, locked her car, and walked toward the hospital entrance. She tried not to think about Tom. She tried to not think about how glorious it felt to have his weight on top of her… and she tried not to think about how warm and affectionate he had been the night before. She had done so well as to stay out of relationships until now… what was she thinking? She was letting herself begin to fall in love with this man, and as hard as she tried to decide to go to Washington, she just couldn’t. It had been so easy to run away before… but she couldn’t make up her mind to run away this time.             “Morning, Doc.”             “Morning, Claire. When’s my first appointment?” She asked as she slipped into her white doctor’s coat.            “8:30.”            Olivia looked at her watch, which read 8:10 a.m. “Thank goodness. I need some coffee. Can I bring you some?”            “I don’t think so, Doc.”            After returning from the cafeteria with a large cup of coffee, Olivia took a seat in her office and began doing some paperwork before her first appointment arrived. Her phone vibrated in the pocket of her doctor’s coat. She bit her lip as the name ‘Thomas H.’ appeared on her phone.
8:21 A.M.
I hope you made it to work safely. I noticed the traffic’s a bit congested this morning. I made myself an egg, and let myself out. Don’t fret, I locked the door behind me. Have a lovely day, Olivia. If you change your mind about the party, let me know.
-TH
She sighed. She wished she could go to the party with Tom, but things just weren’t that simple. Her life would never be that simple.
8:24 A.M.
Thanks, Tom. I’m glad you had breakfast. I’m sorry that I tried to leave without waking you this morning. I’m terrible with these morning after things. I had a great night last night… with you. -O
8:28 A.M.
I had a fantastic time with you too, Olivia. When can I see you again? Hopefully I won’t have to fly all the way to Washington to do it? -TH
She smiled as she replied to his text.
8:30 A.M.
No, I’ve decided to finish out my time here in London. I’ll be here for 3 more months at least, but then I can’t promise anything. I‘ll have to go where I’m called. Have a good day, Tom. Break a leg tonight. -O
                ****
She turned her phone on silent as she saw her first few patients – including twin toddlers with colds, 2 babies with ear infections, and a teenager with a broken wrist. When she finished putting the boy’s arm in a cast, she went to the nurse’s station outside the door to fill in some of her charts.                “Olivia, you’ve got a visitor… he’s been waiting in your office for a while now.” Claire said as she approached Livi from the back.                Her stomach dropped. “A visitor? Who is it?”                “You’d never believe me if I told you.”                Livi huffed. “Oh, I bet I would… with the way my luck has been going… So? Who is it?”                “Chris Hemsworth.” Claire giggled.                “Who?”                “Oh my gosh, Olivia. Chris Hemsworth! Thor!”                “Ohh… Why would he be in my office?”                Claire shrugged. “I don’t know. This is the second hot actor you’ve had in here in the last two weeks. Maybe I need to be asking for your secrets…”                “Uh… no, it’s not like that.” Livi said as she slowly walked toward the closed door of her office. She knocked lightly before poking her head in and eyed the very large actor sitting in one of the chairs in front of her desk. She extended her hand to him.              “Hello, Mr. Hemsworth. I’m Olivia Beckett. What can I do for you today?”
Tumblr media
“Oh, please call me Chris. It’s wonderful to meet you, Dr. Beckett.”            Her eyebrows raised in question as she stared at this blond man that was nearly as tall as a tree. His accent was definitely Australian. She recognized it from her time in Brisbane.            “Oh, I’ll bet you’re wondering what I’m doing here.”            “As a matter of fact, I am.” She smiled at him. “Take a seat, please.” She motioned to the chair before closing her office door. “It’s not every day that I get famous actors in my office.”             “Ah, yes...” He hesitated, and seemed almost uncomfortable. “Dr. Beckett,-”             “Please, call me Olivia.”             He grinned a wide, white smile. “Okay, Olivia… I, uh… I just wanted to meet the woman that my best friend was falling for.”            “Your best friend?” Suddenly, she remembered Tom saying something about his friend flying in today. Surprise! “I assume you mean Tom.”            “Yes. He won’t stop talking about you. He has no idea I’m here, by the way, so let’s keep it between us, please.”            “Hmm… how did you find me, if he doesn’t even know you’re here?”            He chuckled. “Well, it wasn’t that hard. Your picture and name is all over the internet.”            “Oh, yeah… that.” She had been so wrapped up in Tom the last couple of days that she had momentarily forgotten about the internet thing.            “I hope you don’t think I’m being too forward, I just wanted to meet you. He said you weren’t going to attend the performance and party tonight.”           “Uh… no. Bad things seem to happen when I go to the Donmar.”           He smiled. “So, you’re a physician. You seem to be doing well for yourself. Tom said you were a traveling doctor, so you’d probably only be in London for three more months.”           Olivia looked down at her hands that were folded in her lap. “That’s what I do, Chris. My job is to travel. Sometimes I’m in a place for 3 months, or 6 months… or a year. Depending on how long a hospital needs me.”           He nodded, and gazed out of the fourth floor window that was in her office. Olivia could tell that there was more he wanted to say, but he didn’t know how. She looked at her watch. “Chris, I don’t mean to be rude, but I have an appointment at 1, and it’s 12:58… can you get to the real reason you’re here?”            “I just wanted to chat for a moment. Tom’s a very sensitive guy. He falls in love easily, and gets his heart broken even more easily…”            “… and you think I’m going to break his heart?” She looked at him, unbelieving.            “I didn’t say that, I just… I’m tired of seeing him get hurt by women that either can’t handle the spotlight… or use him for his money. I want him to be happy. If you think that you’ll have to leave soon, or foresee any other problems, please don’t lead him on. He also mentioned something about a guy friend of yours that came with you to the performance the other night? Is that all he is, a friend?”            Olivia stared at Chris with her mouth agape. She couldn’t believe what he was saying to her. Really, anyone would be lucky to have a friend that cared for them enough to do something like this, but it just made her angry that he had the nerve to come to her office and accuse her of leading Tom on. She huffed and squeezed the bridge of her nose between her thumb and forefinger.             “I know you have the best of intentions, Chris, but don’t you think that Tom’s old enough to handle his own business?”            “Of course. I’m just tired of seeing him upset, like I said.”            Livi walked to her door, opened it, and looked at Chris expectantly. “Okay, well, you’re going to have to excuse me, I need to get back to work.”            “I’m sorry if I offended you. I’m just looking out for my friend.”            She smiled. “You just accused me of being a gold-digger, a cheater, and a bad person… why would that offend me?”           He stood up and put his hands up in surrender. “Olivia, I didn’t mean that, please-…”           “I need to get to work.”          Chris sighed before nodding his head in defeat. “Well, thank you for your time.”           Livi watched him walk out of her door, and didn’t take her eyes off of him until he was successfully out of the clinic.           “What was that about, Doc? He looked angry.”           “Apparently, he’s Tom’s best friend. He came to size me up… and make sure I wasn’t going to hurt him.”           “Ohh… well, that only means one thing.” She lowered her voice to a whisper. “You slept with Tom… Usually, men only get crazy when sex is involved.”          “Claire! That’s none of your business!”          The blond nurse snickered. “You go from having no excitement in your life to this…”           Livi groaned as she went back into her office, closing the door behind her. Her good mood was quickly fading. It had been much too easy for Chris to find her, and when he did he accused her of some crazy things. She hoped this day would be over quickly so that she could go home, and lock herself in her flat with that carton of ice cream she saw in her freezer.
*****
Fortunately, that’s just the way the rest of the day went. Livi tried to block the events of the day from her mind as she shut herself inside of her flat. This was the first time in a long time that she went home after work and didn’t think about work. Most of the time she’d think about working A&E or finishing her charts for the day, but not today… She was ready for this day to be over with. She spent the night painting her nails a deep, blood red, watching television and dozing on her couch, as she hadn’t gotten much sleep the night before. Her thoughts drifted to Tom. She hoped he was having fun at his party, and she wondered if Chris had come clean to him about coming to her workplace today. She bet he hadn’t.           She sighed as she turned off the t.v. It was getting late, and she knew that two nights of little sleep would be a bad thing. She changed into her favorite thing to sleep in -- a burgundy, silk, cropped top and matching short shorts. The set felt like butter on her skin, and she didn’t care that it was winter in London, she wore it anyway.
Tumblr media
She turned off all the lights except for the bathroom light, which she left on every night (she was much too big of a chicken to sleep in pitch darkness) and slid into her comfy bed. Twenty-four hours ago things were very different in this bedroom, as it was now quiet. She drifted off to sleep easily in the middle of her big bed, and she could have sworn that she still smelled Tom on her sheets.
        *****
BANG! BANG! BANG!            Livi shot straight up in her bed, as the sound of someone banging on her front door had woken her with a start. With her eyes half closed, she reached into her bedside table’s drawer, and fiddled around until she retrieved her small, Smith and Wesson .357 Magnum revolver pistol. Her hands shook as she made sure that there were bullets in it.           She crept toward the entrance, but jumped every time the person pounded on the door. ‘This person was very insistent,’ Livi thought as she steadied herself. Although she really, really didn’t want to, he was prepared to shoot if she needed to.          She tip-toed as quietly as she could, and finally made it to the peep-hole. Slowly, she moved her head over until her eye lined up with the hole. ‘What the fuck?’ she whispered, as she saw who was on the other side.
Tumblr media
“Tom?” She questioned, as she opened the door for her guest. “What the hell are you doing beating down my door in the middle of the night?”              “I jhust wanted to shee you, darling…” He slurred his words as he leaned against the door frame, and his eyes began to wander her silk clad body. “You look sho beautiful…”
“How much have you had to drink, Tom?” She asked him, wanting to giggle out loud. He would feel terrible later, but right now he was too damn cute in his nice suit, swaying back and forth to keep him balance.              “Mm… just… just a little. May I come in?”             She nodded as she stepped out of the way, allowing him to enter the flat. His eyes went straight to the revolver she was carrying.            “Whoa… darling. What do you think you’re going to do with that?”            “Protect myself. I thought you were… were… somebody bad. I’m going to go put it up. Stay right there.”            He leaned against the wall in the entryway, and immediately regretted the amount of alcohol he had consumed that night. His head was spinning, and he felt like his stomach could lurch from his mouth at any moment. He watched Olivia walk back toward him, and he narrowed his eyes to see if he could focus on her swinging hips in that burgundy lingerie, but it seemed like he was seeing double.            She moved up beside him and grabbed his arm. “Come on, Captain Morgan, can you make it to the couch?”             “I believe I can…”             She laughed under her breath as she helped him make his way to the couch. He was a lot heavier than he looked! He plopped down onto the fluffy couch and laid his head back against the cushion. “Let’s get you out of that jacket and tie, shall we? You’ll feel better.” He nodded as he sat up and let her help him remove his jacket. “There. Now, lay down.”              He smiled as he reclined onto the pillows. For the first time tonight he was starting to feel better. He sighed as she laid a cold, wet, washcloth against his hot forehead. “That feels lovely, darling.”              “Mmm-hmm… I figured it would.” She said as her fingers went to work on his tie. She pulled it one way, and then the other to loosen it before undoing the complicated knot it was in, and pulling it from his neck. She laid it on top of his jacket and rested them on the armrest on the other end of the couch. She sat back on the floor beside him and moved the cold cloth around, letting it rest on one cheek before moving it to the other, and finally down his neck. She unbuttoned the first few buttons of his dress shirt, and let the cool cloth dip beneath the confines of the cotton. She ran it over one strong shoulder, before running it over the other, and down his chest.              “You’re so perfect, Olivia…”              She scoffed. “Oh, far from it.” She winked at him as he looked up at her.              She rubbed his skin with the cloth for a few more moments, and she could have sworn that Tom was asleep. So much so, that she jumped when he spoke again.              “Oh, I got an award… they taped my shcpeech tonight… Elle’s Man of the Year…”              “Wow, Tom! That’s wonderful! I can see how they’d name you Man of the Year. You’re pretty amazing…”               “You think I’m amazing?” He looked at her with wide blue eyes.                “I do. I just hope you recorded that acceptance speech before you got wasted.”                “Yes… well, I think I did. We shall see. Oh, and Olivia? You’re amazing too.”               She grinned at him and left the cloth resting against his neck, and moved to his feet. She removed one of his shoes and socks, before removing the other, and as she placed them on the floor she heard him snoring softly. She pulled her crochet blanket up over him, tucking it underneath his chin and walked back into her bedroom. For some reason, she felt so much more comfortable with Tom here, even if he was inebriated. She liked the feeling of knowing he was just right there… in the other room. She went to sleep peacefully, feeling the other presence in her flat. It had been far too long since she had felt that…

The picture-box
Day 2: Memories of Zenyuki week 2017. This was the reason why @thebookfreak and I decided to make a collab. We had this idea that they were looking at pictures and telling their children stories about each picture. Sadly, @thebookfreak will post hers a little later because she had to draw quite a few pictures for this day. I’ll link her post after it’s posted. I hope you will enjoy this fic!
Fandoms/Crossover: Akagami no Shirayukihime, Boku no Hero Academia Ratings: G No warnings Characters: OC, Fuyumi, Shoto, Zen, Shirayuki; mentions Izana, Mitsuhide and Kiki Word count: 1,258 Genre: Humour, romance, domestic life, fluff
“Can I look at some of Zen and Shirayuki’s photos?”, asked Fuyumi her eldest brother. “I want to draw something for them and I need some inspiration.” “Why do you need to draw something for them?”, the redhead wondered out loud while he was sitting on the family sofa with his wife Takara (who is Mitsuhide and Kiki’s daughter).
They came to visit for a family dinner and were waiting for Zen and Shirayuki while they were out shopping for groceries. Even though they were already adults, Shirayuki loves to spoil all of her children with food. Additionally, they wanted Takara to relax since she just received news of her pregnancy.
Fuyumi only rolled her eyes at him. “I don’t get how you even managed to marry Takara with that brain of yours. It’s mom and dad’s wedding anniversary tomorrow. How could you forget something like that?”, she explained and flicked her white hair with some red strands. Akira’s eyes suddenly widened in realisation as the fear slowly settled in. “Damn it! I totally forgot that. Can you share your gift and put our names in it as well?”, he said desperately. “I already anticipated something like that would happen. I already bought an elaborate gift from all of us. But now you guys owe me ten dollars each,” she revealed. “Now show me some pictures.”
“Ok wait. I need to look for the picture-box,” Akira stated and looked around Zen and Shirayuki’s living room for the aforementioned box. “But isn’t it a little late to draw something?”, he asked after he found the brown carton box and sat back down on the couch. “Just show me the pictures, you are being annoying,” Fuyumi denoted and sat next to him.
Akira slowly opened the box and dusted off the lit. The box revealed different sizes of pictures scattered around. He randomly picked out a picture and burst out laughing. “This is one of my favourite pictures from Dad. He still couldn’t control his ice quirk and randomly froze his hair,” He explained. “Well, you weren’t any better with your explosion quirk”, Fuyumi teased. “You almost burnt down this entire building. Luckily Izana was here to stop the fire. In comparison to you I had my quirk in perfect control.” Akira only raised one eyebrow at her and looked at her pointedly until she relented. “Ok fine! It was one time that I accidentally made it rain in here, but I was mad at Yuki and you.” “Dad scolded us for days because you are his princess,” Akira complained while he searched for another picture related to quirk incidents in this family.
He triumphantly held out a picture of Shirayuki before her wedding. “Mom accidentally set her hair on fire because she was a ball of nerves according to Kiki,”Akira retold. “I remember that. Mom told us very animatedly how much she almost thought the dress was on fire when she looked at Shirayuki,” Takara added. “Mom looks so beautiful in this one. Is there another one with Zen and Shirayuki during the ceremony?”, Fuyumi asked and looked through the various pictures until one with Zen in it captures her attention. “Is this dad with a frying pan that is on fire?”, Fuyumi stated and all three started laughing in unison.
“Hey! What are you guys laughing at?”, Yuki and Shoto asked after they appeared behind the sofa. Fuyumi showed them the picture and all five start to laugh again. “Oh my god, no wonder dad never cooks,” Yuki stated and took the picture to inspect it more closely. “There are so many funny pictures of Mom and Dad. Oh, here is one with Mitsuhide and Kiki!”, Akira exclaimed and pulled out a rectangular shaped picture where the aforementioned people are sitting with Zen and Shirayuki on this very couch they are seated right now. All of them were smiling brightly at the camera and looked extremely happy sitting like that.
Before any of the children could comment on the picture, they heard the front door open and revealing Zen with grocery bags. “Do you need help?”, asked Shoto while coming over to help his father. Soon the others followed while Akira put the pictures back in the box and left the box on the couch. “We will take over cooking while you two relax. You deserved it,” stated Fuyumi and kissed Zen’s cheek.
“But what if you guys burn the kitchen down?”, Shirayuki questioned worriedly. “Don’t worry about it, Mom. We won’t be as bad as Dad at cooking. Have some faith in us,” Akira reassured them while his wife led Zen and Shirayuki towards the living room. “If you want to, you can sit here and look at some old pictures. For old times’ sake,” Takara interjected and both of them reluctantly let their daughter-in-law lead them to the couch.
“Isn’t that our picture-box?”, Shirayuki asked while taking the box and putting it on her lap. “It has been so long since we last looked inside here.” Shirayuki slowly and carefully opened the box as if she was holding a baby while Zen draped his arm over her shoulder. His wife almost couldn’t contain all the memories flooding her mind and tears started to pool in her eyes which she tried to blink away. “Do you remember the time when we had our graduation dance after we finally graduated from uni?”, Shirayuki asked nostalgically. “Of course I do! That was the night I proposed to you,” Zen answered affectionately and kissed Shirayuki’s cheek.
“Aww, look at this picture of Mitsuhide and Kiki at their wedding!”, the red-haired exclaimed. “It’s so rare to see Kiki this affectionate in general, but this picture alone says so much about both of them. The way they look at each other and their body language says so much about their love. It doesn’t seem to be as apparent, but it’s there when you look more closely.”
After looking through some more pictures they finally find some picture of their own wedding day. Zen couldn’t help himself after he saw them kiss on their wedding. He lightly turned her chin towards him and softly kissed Shirayuki on her lips. Their kiss was very soft and sweet and both of them took in their respective scents. Zen let her feel all his love and affection towards her through this one kiss. Shirayuki gripped the box a little tighter and tilted her head a little more, while Zen tightened his grasp around her shoulders but kept his hold on her chin light.
They broke apart when the need for air was too great and Zen leaned his forehead against Shirayuki’s. “I love you. I will always love you,” Zen whispered and closed his eyes to inhale her scent. The scent of wood and freedom, but also of the fire that burned inside of her. “I’m so happy and glad to have you and all our children in our life,” Shirayuki answered and added almost inaudibly an ‘I love you’.
They stayed like that for a while, taking the other person in and enjoying the moment together, until their children called for them to come to the dining table.
Going on a trip back to the past made them nostalgic and remember all those beautiful moments and memories they have gathered over the years. But most importantly, they were going to continue making memories in the future with their kids, good and bad ones; as long as they are together.
Well guys, guess what happened after I finished the post. I accidentally didn’t click the right button and all my work was deleted. Luckily I had a backup on my laptop.  If there are any spelling or grammar mistakes, please do tell me. It’s 1 am, I am tired and this thing took longer because I was so stupid that I didn’t know how to properly save this.
For clearance: Z and S have four children: Akira (OC, means spark, related to his quirk), Yuki (OC, means snow, also related to his quirk), Fuyumi (BnHA) and Shoto (BnHA). Quirk is a special, superhuman ability an individual can possess and is genetically inherited from either one or both of their parents.  Zen obviously has an ice quirk and Shirayuki a fire quirk.  (If there are any questions, feel free to ask).
EDIT: I FOUND THE FREACKING FIRST POST IN THE SCHEDULED POSTS 10 MINUTES AFTER I FINISHED THIS SECOND POST! WHAT THE HECK TUMBLR?! I’m too lazy to morph these two posts together, but it made me think in how many different ways we can express ourselves...

I also have my Natsume fic up on A03!
A Diagnosis
“Takashi,” Shigeru gently woke up his nephew. “Takashi.”
“Good morning, Uncle Shigeru,” Takashi said softly as he woke up, not feeling very rested. It was hard to sleep through yokai talking when even more anxious than usual.
“It’s time to get up,” Shigeru helped support Takashi into a sitting position. “Need any help getting dressed?”
“No,” Takashi shook his head and grabbed onto Shigeru as he stood.
“Then I’ll wait for you downstairs. Remember, don’t drink anything and put on something that’s easy to get in and out of.”
“Thank you,” Takashi said as he went to his closet for a button-up shirt, feeling fortunate that he didn’t feel like he needed to go through the embarrassment of needing helping in dressing himself for the day…yet. He trusted Shigeru and Touko now, but he hated having to let Shigeru help him finish up in the bath and get into his pajamas on the rougher nights. It was seeming like he was feeling too sick and stiff to live normally even more often as the weeks went by. All of Takashi’s body parts seemed to want to hurt him. He’d been missing more and more school, and was often unable to go out with the rest of his friends. It felt like everybody was growing up without him.
“Are you sure I can’t come?” Madara asked as Takashi got dressed. “I want to see what happens.”
“You’re not allowed to come,” insisted Takashi. “This is more serious than school. Someone might be allergic. This is a ‘no pets’ hospital.”
“I think you picked the wrong hospital. That first one had dogs, and it was cheaper and closer.”
“It doesn’t have the specialists I need,” said Takashi. “And this one is bigger. It has more machines so they can run tests. All the local hospital could find was that I’m anemic, and I’ve clearly got other bigger problems. I have to figure out what’s making me anemic if I want to get better.”
Madara swore.
“So serious today. It’s not gonna be that bad, kid. They’re all there to help you, unlike some of the yokai you get involved with.”
After getting ready, Takashi struggled down the stairs. Touko watched, worried.
“I hate these things,” Takashi complained in his head. “I’d go out so much more if I didn’t have to take them to get back in bed to rest.”
Seeing the clean, scentless kitchen, Takashi asked,
“You 2 ate breakfast…didn’t you?”
“No, it just didn’t seem fair,” smiled Touko.
“We didn’t want the kitchen to smell nice and make you hungry,” explained Shigeru. “Who knows how long you’ll have to wait.”
“It’s only me that doesn’t have to eat,” Takashi said uncomfortably. “Don’t do that for me.”
“It’s fine,” said Touko. “I have some rice crackers in my purse and lots of leftovers for when we get back.”
“You should eat,” Takashi insisted. “It’s already too nice that you’re both coming…” He still felt guilty that Shigeru took off work.
“Don’t worry about us,” said Shigeru. “We’re just worried about you.”
Touko bent down and pet Madara’s head.
“We’re going out, Nyanko-sensei. Take care of the house.”
Out of the corner of his eye, Takashi thought he saw a yokai in the doorway of the waiting room.
“I wish Madara could’ve come to tell me what’s a yokai and what’s just in my head,” Takashi thought. “But if there was something really bad here, Shigeru might also react.”
Takashi tried to relax. He refused to pay attention to anything unusual unless someone else pointed it out first.
“Natsume Takashi?” called a nurse, and his family stood up with him. He had a hospital bracelet put around his wrist and was escorted to a small room to change into a gown. Touko and Shigeru turned around to give him a bit of privacy as he slowly dressed himself.
“I’m ready,” Takashi promised.
“Can you get comfortable up there?” asked Touko as he tried to situate himself up on the examining table.
“Yes,” he said, not making eye contact. He was so nervous. The flimsy gown made him feel completely vulnerable.
The nurse was back in soon.
“I’m going to take your vitals,” she put a cuff around Takashi’s arm and a clip on his finger, and then took his temperature in his ear. “What are you here to see the doctor about?”
“Takashi has anemia, pain, stiffness and fatigue. It seems to be getting worse and he’s needed to miss a lot of school,” Shigeru explained.
“He catches everything that goes around,” Touko added. “And his fainting really worries me. We need a diagnosis.”
Takashi kept feeling like he was seeing things out of the corner of his eye as the cuff squeezed his arm, and the nurse then removed it.
“His vitals are normal,” she pointed out. “Takashi, are you having any pain right now?”
“Yes,”
“Where?”
“Just…All over my body. In my muscles and joints.”
“How would you rate your pain on a scale of 1 to 10?” she asked. “Just the pain you’re feeling right now.”
“Umm…” Takashi wasn’t sure what to say. It wasn’t that bad when he was still, and it could always be worse, but he still wanted her to understand he was in pain.
“5…” Takashi decided, his eyes darting back behind for a second as he saw a shadowy figure.
“I’ll send the doctor in to examine you,”
Takashi nervously waited, trying to adjust his hospital gown to be a bit more modest.
“Takashi, it’s alright,” said Shigeru, making his nephew immediately jolt to attention. “They’re supposed to be like that so the doctor can see you. You’re fine.”
“Right…” Takashi crossed his legs and hoped that this would be over soon. Touko was clearly starting to notice how distracted he was.
When the doctor came in, Shigeru and Touko bowed to her.
“It’s nice to meet you,” she said, immediately getting started and pushing open Takashi’s hospital gown to press her stethoscope up against his chest. Takashi recoiled a bit, but he fought his instincts so he could settle down and let her listen.
“It’s nice to meet you. Thank you for seeing me today…” Takashi said as Shigeru moved to stand next to Takashi. He gave him a reassuring look.
“Breathe normally,” the doctor instructed as she listened to different parts of his chest, and then moved to his back. “Alright, deep breaths now.”  Takashi took a few deep breaths, so anxious that it was a bit difficult. He closed his eyes and tried to just be obedient until she listened to his chest again and pulled away.
“No gastrointestinal issues, no skin problems or lumps, but clear fainting and anemia with the fatigue and pain?” She checked.
“Yes…” answered Takashi, and she started to feel his neck.
“Any problems with mobility?”
“Yes,”
“Oh?” she asked. “How active are you?”
“Not very,” Takashi blushed and jumped a bit as the doctor reached through his gown to feel under his arms.
“You’re alright,” Shigeru promised. “I’m right here.”
“Excuse me,” Touko butted in. “Do you think you could give him more warning before you touch him? I tried to tell the receptionist that he’s easily startled from past sexual abuse.”
“I’m sorry, I had no idea,” the doctor stopped touching Takashi. “With that information, I think it would be for the best if I examined his more sensitive areas, though, at the end of the exam.”
“He’s had that done since he’s been safe with us,” Shigeru insisted. “Even if it he’s due for it, I want his other tests done first. I really don’t think any sensitive exams should be necessary today.”
“Alright,” the doctor seemed a bit inconvenienced, which made Takashi uncomfortable, but he was glad that his aunt and uncle stood up for him.
“What else didn’t get passed on to the doctor?” Takashi wondered, trying to rack his brain for other important details the doctor hadn’t discussed.
“Has he gotten any mental help?” asked the doctor.
“No,” Touko shook her head.
“I think he should see a therapist. Stress can cause a lot of problems in the body. The trauma alone could create a lot of physical pain.”
“There’s a bit of a family history,” Touko explained. “His grandmother has had the same symptoms. We want to look for bigger causes.”
“I’ll still recommend a therapist. He should get started on antidepressants,” she turned to Takashi. “Do you have problems with anxiety or depression?”
“I…um…” Takashi was unsure of what to say.
“Of course I do,” Takashi thought. “But that’s not what I’m here for. I have a real health issue to diagnose.”
“Sometimes,” Takashi decided. “But I don’t need to do any of that.”
“Irritability? Issues with reality? Behavioural problems?” The doctor looked around the room, wanting someone to answer honestly.
“I’ve been trying to cook right for his anemia, and we think that might be helping, but what we’d really like to focus on is what’s physically stopping him from being able to move around properly like a teenager should.” Touko said.
“Walk to that wall and back,” the doctor instructed.
“Um…” Takashi struggled to grab onto the edge of the patient table to get himself down with just one hand, and he wasn’t going to free up his other one. He needed it to keep his gown closed.
Shigeru reached to help him down. The doctor nearly said something, but she was too late, so she just watched Takashi walk.
“Do you help him frequently?” the doctor asked Shigeru.
“Yes,” he nodded, moving in front of his nephew to cover him a bit as he got back on the table.
“That’s not good,” she said. “What normal tasks can he not do on his own?”
“He doesn’t always need help, but stairs have been getting difficult. Sometimes he just needs a bit of support to get where he needs to go, or to get up and down. I help him with bathing and dressing when he needs it, but it’s not a habit.”
“Takashi, you need more exercise. That’s not good for a boy your age,” the doctor said. “How much sleep do you usually get?”
“It depends,” Takashi wasn’t sure what to say. “I’m picky about sound and it’s hard to sleep when in pain, so I don’t get a lot of sleep at night.”
“Okay. I’m going to print out a prescription for lab work and MRI’s. I’ll also refer the therapist to you. He needs to see one,”
Takashi kept his mouth shut. He’d talk his aunt and uncle out of it later.
Wearing the hospital gown was humiliating, and Takashi knew he was walking impossibly slowly.
“I feel completely weighted down…” Takashi’s head spun. “This hospital’s so big…”
“Takashi, do you need to sit down?” asked Touko.
“Yeah…” Takashi admitted.
“There’s a bench over there,” Touko put her hand on her nephew’s back.
Resting on the bench, Takashi nervously hoped to regain some strength. His legs ached, and if he passed out, he wouldn’t be able to keep his gown closed.
“Are you feeling any better?” asked Shigeru. “Maybe I should go on ahead and tell them that you’re on your way.”
“Okay,” Takashi avoided the question about how he was feeling. “Thank you, Uncle Shigeru.”
Takashi tried to drown out all of the chatter he heard.
Touko sat down next to Takashi and rubbed his back.
“I’m sorry this isn’t going exactly how we expected,”
“It’s not your fault,”
“Please don’t be scared,” said Touko.
“It’s hard not to be,” said Takashi. “Why do I have to wear this in front of everyone?”
“They’d just make you change again when you got down there,” Touko tried to be soothing. “It’s supposed to be easier on you.”
“I’m being treated like a crazy person,” Takashi said softly. “If they don’t believe me, how are they going to help me?”
“Takashi, something should come up in the tests,” Touko assured him. “And they know that you’re anemic. That’s a clear physical problem.”
“I’m wasting your money. You saved up for me and they think I’m just making this up and need anti-depressants to go to school. But this is exhausting and painful,”
“I know this is disappointing,” Touko said. “I wish I knew what to tell them to make them understand our situation. I only told them what happened so they’d be cautious with you. I didn’t want you to get confused and think you were in any danger.”
“I’m glad you told them,” said Takashi. “I was too ashamed to want to admit to it myself.”
“Don’t be embarrassed,” Touko leaned into her nephew. “It’s not your fault.”
“How do we know if they’re going to take blood for everything they should?” asked Takashi. “I don’t want this to be a waste if a doctor that believed me would check for more things. They seem dead set on me just making this up.”
“They don’t think you’re just making it up,” said Touko. “They think that stress is exasperating something small and blowing it out of proportion.”
“It’s not something small,” said Takashi. “I know I’ve lost my mind, too, but since Uncle Shigeru says my grandmother was sick like this and I really don’t want to be a burden —“
“Takashi, we love taking care of you.”
“I still want to be able to dress myself, and go to school and not be tired, and not have it hurt too much to go out to the woods with my friends. I’m always missing out. I’d love to know what’s wrong with me and get actual serious help. I’ll do a painful treatment if that’s what I need…I just don’t want to be marked a hypochondriac and sent away with anti-depressants,”
Takashi saw a white beast with gnarly horns standing by a check-in desk. It stared at him with its beady eyes, but it didn’t move.
Takashi almost didn’t notice when Shigeru came back, pushing a wheelchair.
“Here, they leant us this,” he smiled and reached out his hand. “Do you need help?”
“I-I don’t…need…” Takashi took Shigeru’s hand anyway as he stood up and transferred into the chair. He watched the yokai out of the corner of his eye as Shigeru pushed him down to the MRI machines.
“Takashi, this will probably take a while,” Shigeru warned.
“Why don’t you lie down on the patient table and get comfortable?” suggested the nurse. Takashi cautiously looked at the huge machine the table pushed inside of before lying down.
“You’ll need to be completely still. Just your breathing could make us have to redo the pictures,” the nurse explained. “Let me know if you get too hot or cold.”
Takashi recoiled a bit as the nurse took his arm.
“It’s easier if I put restraints on you,” she said. “That way you can’t move too much.”
Touko and Shigeru looked a bit nervous, and Natsume didn’t know what to say. His heart pounded and he kept thinking about the yokai he saw earlier as the nurse prevented him from moving.
“I’ll take your blood and start you on an IV with the same needle, alright?” the nurse showed Takashi her tools as she set up.
“A-alright…” Takashi felt his face heat up in a nervous sweat, but there was nowhere to go to.
“You should squeeze something,” the nurse looked to Touko. “Can you come over here and give him your hand?”
Touko rushed over and took Takashi’s hand. The nurse tapped on Takashi’s vein and pierced him with the needle. From the other side, Shigeru reached to fix Takashi’s hair and told him to breathe.
Takashi couldn’t believe how long it was taking. He gripped Touko’s hand tightly.
“You had a lot of tests ordered…” the nurse commented as she switched to another vial.
Takashi kept waiting, his arm throbbing.
“All done,”
He hadn’t even noticed. Thankfully, Touko kept holding his hand.
“She’s going to give you a shot now,” said Shigeru.
“It’ll go into your IV,” the nurse explained as she injected the medicine in. “You might get nauseous. If you need anything, we’ll have to redo the scan, but I can let you out at any time.”
“Um, okay,” Takashi got even more nervous, wishing he had some sort of warning about this earlier. Touko gently patted Takashi’s hand before letting go, and he was pushed into the machine.
Sitting in the back of the cab, Takashi forced his stiff body to move up to Touko to whisper,
“Aunt Touko? I’m going to throw up.”
“Now?”
“…soon,”
“We’re almost home,”
After a pause, Takashi asked,
“What if I can’t make it?”
His face was pale.
“We could pull over?” Touko whispered back.
Takashi swallowed uncomfortably, and then nodded.
“Could you pull over?” Touko loudly requested, and the driver let them off at the side of the highway. He asked something, but Takashi couldn’t focus on anything but getting out of the cab. He knelt down on the grass and vomited out the IV as best as he could. He hoped that the snack he had on the way out of the hospital would help settle his stomach after not eating for so long, but it only made things worse. Saliva dribbled out of Takashi’s mouth and his body ached.
Touko offered her nephew a tissue.
“Do you feel better?”
“Mmhm,” Takashi blushed and got back in the cab with her.
The driver stopped talking to Shigeru and looked back at Takashi before driving the last of the stretch home.
As the 3 got out of the cab, they noticed Takashi’s friends sitting down outside of their house. Nishimura stood up immediately and smiled. Kitamoto was clearly trying to be positive, too, but he looked worried.
“How did it go?” asked Nishimura.
“Takashi needs some rest and a meal,” Shigeru said, trying to send the friends on their way as he guided Takashi with his hand on his back.
“Alright,” Nishimura nodded. “We just got the idea that if we stopped by, maybe we could cheer Takashi up by taking him to the woods.”
“He’s been through a lot, boys.” Shigeru said firmly.
Touko looked to Takashi, who softly suggested to his aunt,
“Maybe they could come in for a little bit,”
“Honey, maybe they could come in to eat with us,” Touko offered. “Just for a quick visit.”
“We don’t have to,” Tanuma reassured them. “And we don’t need any food.”
Shigeru thought for a bit, making sure that this was what Takashi really wanted before deciding,
“Alright. Come on in,” as he unlocked the door.
“You don’t look well,” Tanuma commented. “Did you have to fast?”
“Yeah,” Takashi was relatively unexpressive.
“You’ll feel better after you eat,” Kitamoto promised, reassuringly touching Takashi’s shoulder as he sat down at the table.
Touko heated up leftovers from the night before and started to set out bowls.
“I’ll make some soup, too,” she decided.
“We don’t need anything,” Kitamoto told her, passing his bowl towards Takashi.
Nishimura also nodded, despite having already eaten some meat.
“Touko, come eat with us. You can make more in a bit,” suggested Shigeru. “Takashi probably doesn’t have a huge appetite, anyway.”
“Ah, but maybe some soup would go down easier —“
“Maybe later after this settles,” said Takashi, and the honest look in his eyes finally made her give up and sit down to eat.
“I hope it’s not too much of a bother that my friends from school came.”
“Did the doctor say anything?” asked Kitamato.
Takashi finished chewing, unsure of what to say. Fortunately, Shigeru answered for him.
“They’ll get back to us later,” Shigeru explained. “Takashi had a lot of tests done to rule things out.”
“That sucks!” Nishimura exclaimed. He made Takashi jump a bit as he firmly squeezed his shoulder.
“Did it hurt?” he asked.
Tanuma gave a side-eye to Nishimura for asking the obvious, but he was oblivious as he waited for Takashi to admit,
“Yeah,”
“What all did they do?” asked Nishimura, and Kitamoto gently shoved him.
“Let Takashi eat,” Kitamoto said, making everyone else smile. “He can vent to us later if he wants.”
Madara slowly came up to the table and rubbed up against Touko’s legs in hopes of scraps.
Takashi accepted Tanuma’s hand on his back as they went up the stairs to his room.
“This is really getting difficult for you, isn’t it?” Kitamoto frowned, watching with his hands in his pockets.
“No, it’s just been a tough day,” Takashi tried to convince them.
Nishimura raised an eyebrow before turning back into Takashi’s room.
Gripping the windowsill to pull him down, Takashi sat up against the wall with a pillow crammed between it and his body. It wasn’t the most comfortable thing, but he was used to not having much.
“We brought stuff,” said Kitamoto. “Feel like just opening the window and hoping for the best?”
“Sure,” Takashi was so miserable that even if Touko or Shigeru confronted him, he was pretty sure that they’d understand. The other few times that they smoked inside, his caregivers didn’t even acknowledge it. Touko always acted pleased when Takashi had guests.
Nishimura grinned and opened the window as Kitamoto dug inside of his backpack.
“Well, this’ll make you feel better.” Nishimura patted Takashi on the shoulder as he sat down in a circle with him.
Kitamoto opened up a tin of mints with a few joints inside of it, and Tanuma pulled his lighter out of his pocket.
“You can start it,” Kitamoto gave Takashi a joint, and as he put it in his mouth, Nishimura stole the lighter Tanuma was trying to pass over to Takashi. A bit surprised at having it lit for him, Takashi gave a slight smile and Nishimura chuckled as Takashi took a hit and passed the joint over. He watched as Nishimura then put the joint between his lips.
“So,” Tanuma started. “Nishimura thought it wouldn’t be too forward and weird to get Taki a gift.”
“Oh, yeah, make fun of me for it.” Nishimura scoffed. “It not like it was that expensive,”
As Tanuma smoked, Kitamoto said,
“For her birthday, it wouldn’t be. Maybe you could get away with giving her something really cheap because you thought she’d like it, like a keychain, but you’re going to screw up your friendship and make the other girls jealous.”
Nishimura took a floral hair clip out of a small box in his backpack. It was a fake, light purple lily pinned to a veil-like fabric.
“But it isn’t pretty?” Nishimura asked.
“If you’re really going to give her something nice like that, it’s best you say it was your cousin’s and she didn’t want it anymore so Taki doesn’t think you’re out blowing money on her.” said Tanuma.
As the joint made it’s way back to Takashi, Nishimura stretched and said,
“Well, I guess I need to do something else with it. Takashi, you like wearing things like this sometimes, right?”
Takashi choked on the smoke.
“Don’t think about it too hard,” said Tanuma. “I just mentioned to him how I knew you’d borrowed things like this before for a ceremony or something. Like that one picture of you in that nice yukata and mask.”
“I-um—“ Takashi tried to pass the joint to Nishimura, who softly said,
“Take another hit,”
Takashi did, mostly so he didn’t have to say anything yet.
“I don’t know, I guess I’d like it if another opportunity came up,” Takashi admitted. “You should try to return it.”
“No, don’t worry about it,” Nishimura still refused to take the joint. “It’s pretty, isn’t it?”
“Very,” said Takashi.
Nishimura reached to clip the accessory in Takashi’s hair, forcing him to quickly exhale smoke in surprise.
“It looks great,” Nishimura promised, and this time Takashi made him take the joint from him.
In a swift motion as he then gave it to Tanuma, Nishimura put his arm around Takashi’s neck.
“Damn, you had to go through a lot today,” Nishimura explained. “You feeling any better yet? How long did you have to go without eating?”
“Just since the night before,” said Takashi. “Eating did…make me feel a bit better.”
“Let us know if we can do anything for you,” said Tanuma. “Here, smoke some more.”

Will Smith’s 10 Best Movies, According To IMDb | ScreenRant
Often called the most charismatic actor working Hollywood today, Will Smith is one of the last of a breed of movie stars who can do it all. His career as an actor was never something that Smith took lightly and, much like comparable superstar Tom Cruise, he built his roles carefully. The result has been a long career at the top, with far more hits than misses. His movies appear to only get better, and more beloved, the older he becomes. Smith provides one of the best qualities a star can possess: the impression that their best work is always still ahead of them.
RELATED: 10 Best Spielberg Movies Ever, According To IMDb
Here’s Will Smith’s top ten highest rated movies on IMDb right now.
10 Men In Black 3 (6.8)
Tumblr media
Will Smith’s last appearance, so far, in the long-lasting media franchise that he helped to forge was the most expensive of the series but also the highest grossing.
It would be easy to think that appreciation was a gimme for the beloved Men in Black series, especially for a movie that was seen as a comeback after the disappointment of the previous movie a decade prior. But Men in Black 3 genuinely remembers the aspects that made the original movie work so well and reconfigures them to feel new and exciting for an audience fifteen years down the road from that initial success.
9 Bad Boys (6.9)
Tumblr media
The debut of Michael Bay as an action director, and Will Smith as an action star, would change both men’s careers and the face of Hollywood forever. The buddy cop comedy with Martin Lawrence was big, loud and stylized beyond reason. It was a perfect vehicle for a world that didn’t yet know Smith as a leading man in movies and still associated him with his musical persona, popularized by The Fresh Prince of Bel Air. (Which was still going at that time.)
RELATED: Will Smith's 10 Most Memorable Characters, Ranked
Bay and Smith would reteam eight years later for the similarly beloved sequel, with the belated third installment slated for a 2020 release.
8 Independence Day (7)
Tumblr media
Released less than two months after the final episode of Smith’s defining TV hit The Fresh Prince of Bel Air, the monster success of Roland Emmerich’s sci-fi spectacle secured Smith as not just a bankable action star in major Hollywood movies but an actor with a whole new career lying ahead of him beyond the Fresh Prince persona and the world of music.
Independence Day also, crucially, demonstrated Smith’s abilities as a team player. The movie was by no means all about him but he was still able to shine while playing one member of an ensemble and one half of his buddy pairing with Jeff Goldblum’s character.
7 Concussion (7.1)
Tumblr media
It may seem odd for an actor so closely associated with action blockbusters, but Will Smith’s most popular movies seem to be his smaller dramatic roles. Even when, like Concussion, they’re largely unloved by critics and the box office, relatively speaking.
RELATED: Alfred Hitchcock Presents: 5 Best & 5 Worst Episodes, According To IMDb
Smith plays Dr. Bennet Omalu in the movie, a Nigerian-American physician credited with the discovery and exposure of chronic traumatic encephalopathy in professional American football players and its resulting health issues. The movie chronicles both Omalu’s struggle for acceptance and respect as a Nigerian in America and his clash with the NFL over his research.
6 I, Robot (7.1)
Tumblr media
With the possible exception of the next movie on our list, 2004’s I, Robot is the most unashamed star vehicle for Smith as a leading action hero in his IMDb top ten.
RELATED: 14 Sci-Fi Movies With 0% On Rotten Tomatoes (And 6 With 100%)
Its connections to the collection of Isaac Asimov stories from which it takes its name is tenuous, at best, and the movie contains wall-to-wall product placements but it’s hard to feel unsatisfied when you’ve seen Will Smith blowing away robots with a machine gun. Part whodunnit, part cyberpunk epic, I, Robot is relentless in its goal to entertain the audience by any means necessary.
5 I Am Legend (7.2)
Tumblr media
The third movie adaptation of Richard Matheson’s seminal post-apocalypse novel of the same name had been cooking for over a decade before it made it to the big screen, with Smith originally being attached to star in an earlier production, directed by Michael Bay, that inevitably fell through. (If you think that sounds weird, wait until you hear about the one before from Ridley Scott and Arnold Schwarzenegger.) It certainly wasn’t without its problems, demonstrated quite well by its two completely different endings, but the idea of spending a few hours alone with Will Smith in New York was clearly too good of an offer to pass up for audiences.
RELATED: Kevin Smith's Movies, Ranked By Rotten Tomatoes
I Am Legend’s continual script problems mattered a lot less when it became obvious that Smith could improvise his own dialogue, or just say nothing at all, and still be hugely compelling.
4 Enemy Of The State (7.3)
Tumblr media
Tony Scott’s paranoid thriller sees Smith play a successful lawyer who becomes embroiled in the coverup of a government assassination via a random encounter with an old acquaintance. It sounds like the perfect set up for a classical thriller but Enemy of the State is far more new school than old school and it’s because of this that it still strikes a chord today.
For all the outdated technology that plagued most 90s movies, Enemy of the State was one of the decade’s many action thrillers that were remarkably ahead of their time. In 1998, the movie depicted the NSA engaging in surveillance practices that would be vehemently denied until Edward Snowden’s whistleblowing in 2013. Today, they’re generally accepted as fact.
3 Men In Black (7.3)
Tumblr media
Loosely based on a comic series from the early 90s, Barry Sonnenfeld’s sci-fi action buddy comedy spawned a verifiable media franchise that’s lasted up until today with sequels and a spinoff. The original movie was another demonstration of Smith’s power as a team player. He stole the movie by himself without it being structured all around him.
RELATED: The 10 Most Bizarre Weapons In Sci-Fi Movies, Ranked
The overall strength of the cast, coupled with Danny Elfman’s hugely memorable score and Rick Baker’s Oscar winning special effects, cemented Smith as an actor who was more interested in being recognized for good movies than just recognized as a movie star.
2 Seven Pounds (7.6)
Tumblr media
Another example of a critically-unloved small-scale drama from the lower half of Smith’s box office rankings that has only grown in popularity since its release, even potentially becoming identifiable as a cult movie.
Seven Pounds is a small-scale emotional drama that’s gained popularity and interest over the years since its release almost certainly because how unusual it is for a Will Smith movie and because of its more mysterious attributes. With key information being revealed slowly throughout the course of the movie, leading to a shocking conclusion.
1 The Pursuit Of Happyness (8)
Tumblr media
It’s not difficult to see why Smith’s portrayal of real-life entrepreneur Chris Gardiner during a time of great financial struggle and homelessness has resonated with so many since its debut in 2006. The performance would earn Smith his second Oscar nomination and prove a huge hit at the box office on release but the message of determination in the face of overwhelming hardship has only grown more relatable over time.
The Pursuit of Happyness would also mark a significant change in Smith’s onscreen star persona as he became no longer the only Smith on screen. His son, Jaden, making his debut in the movie.
