i think the only truly whimsical human hs kid is actually jake but his whimsy is being STIFLED by other characters bc thats just how pages function in the plot. they need to bounce off of and react to other characters. if all u do is feed them garbage (jane @ jake) then theyre gonna wither. but once they gain their own traction, break free, and find new people to bounce off of then they thrive (vris @ tav and tav with his ghost army). i think thats gonna actually happen for jake soon in HSBC, now that jane has quite literally thrown him away. tavvy is like his biggest motivation for anything rn- dude already hope-cured that boys deadly peanut allergy, who KNOWS what hes gonna do now

Vriska’s whole Thing is that she's a massive girlfailure who is perpetually obsessed with making people think she's a girlboss

the vristav girlfailure vs boyloser dynamic needs to be studied under a microscope. theyre both chronically pathetic and have completely opposing ways of trying to 'better themselves' from it. vriska especially thinks that her way is the right way, pushing it onto tavros, hating how vulnerable he is, how she can see the patheticness in him, the same patheticness deep in her. she resents that part of herself, projecting the hate onto tavros. she needs to fix him to fix herself.
