Zwillingstürme im Herbst Thoughts
ZT to me, is a story of endings. Not just the factual endings of eras, Arts, and songs. But also the great question of "What happens after the end?"
Each major character faces an ending in this story. Leithanien faces the end of both the Kaiserinnen and the truest finale of the Witch King. The Liches end their stay in the country. Viviana comes to terms with her Leithanien heritage, Ebenholz frees himself from all of his demons, and Arturia, well, we'll get to Arturia.
One of the most notable things is how this story treats hope and the indomitable human spirit. Unlike other stories, it does not praise humanity and treat them as some unstoppable limitless force by virtue of their emotions. Instead, it takes a very nuanced approach that's informed by how powerless these characters can actually get. Sure they can charge forward towards their goals but they'll still die and they'll still be faced with darkness and regrets. Even still, we should embrace our emotions and the turmoil they bring.
The Genesis Horn and Kagenreich are such interesting ideas but it can feel weird that much of the climax is emotional conflicts made manifest. Viviana's is the most obvious. The constant doors to possible new lives culminating in her real one. She comes to let go of the past and stand for herself which is nice. It's also nice that it was Margaret's light that helped her fight back the darkness. An exquisite call-back to the Radiant Knight.
Ebenholz helped to paint a very unique lesson in my opinion. That suffering doesn't NEED meaning. Even after promising Kreide that he'd live and fight fate, he's still plagued by headaches and Witch King Remnants. The revelation that whatever was in his head, the Voice of Mundane, was just a mundane voice upends many of the things we've (us and Ebenholz) assumed about his life. That his suffering was tied to the Witch King and that his conflict would culminate in a big fight against the man whose shadow terrorized him. Instead they have a heart to heart and the Witch King challenges him to look back on his life and realize that "the night itself is meaningless." It is totally fine to have a terrible thing just be a terrible thing and moving on doesn't have to involve a great trials to overcome, sometimes your enemies kill themselves and you just walk away.
Arturia is the most interesting but I'm afraid I can't do her full arc justice. In contrast to his accommodating spin with Ebenholz, the Witch King challenges Arturia at every turn, questioning her motive and why she wants what she does. It comes to a head when he forcefully dives into her and sees that there is only one thing that stirred her own emotions. Everything else is a mirror of someone else. He ultimately gives her the answer she's looking for and the natural doubt that comes when the answer she found didn't meet her expectations. But her bouncing back as chaos descended was beautiful and I might reread this and Hortus just to really grasp her character.
Cora and Brandt, Hildegard and Lisellote (no idea how to, spell the Kaserinnen's surnames), Michel, Lessing, and the Liches. All sorts of stories come to a close as new beginnings emerge. And the most troublesome of them is definitely the makings of the newest source of conflict: the Disaster, the encroaching of chaos upon reality and the return of the supposed Creator.
It's quite likely that that may be the angle of the next major story arc, especially with the role Nearl's light played and the fact that Laterano is trying so hard to unite the nations.
This event was great and I recommend it. Not sure if I have any major notes or ideas to share but I really liked it.
One last thing: seems people are kinda wary of Lisellote, the Eternal Grace. I love it when the supposedly fluffier one has the greater potential of evil

The Linden Mews flittered carefully through the foliage of Hoenn, avoiding human sight. They made their way to Lilycove City, where Viviana Linden lived. Rosemary had fallen into a fitful sleep in Persim's hands. Fear washed off the orange Mew in deep waves so strong, even Randy could feel them effortlessly.
Finally, they halted in the woods north of the city. There, Randy transformed back into his human form, the suitcase and cane materializing with him. He set the suitcase down.
Alright. Randy's voice was stern. Final call, Persim. Mom needs to look at her. Are you coming with, or not?
Persim was fluffed up as big as he could be. His eyes darted about as he hesitated to answer.
Umm... I-I don't think he should...
Perzi stared at her, horrified. What?? Lav, she's my daughter! How could you say that??
Uncle Perzi, y... Her arm rose to her shoulder in uncertainty. You're drenched in fear. I... I'm worried it would make her upset as Gramma Vivi's looking at her. And being around Gramma would only make you more afraid
Persim looked at her as if about to protest. Soon, though, he closed his mouth and eyes, hanging his head in defeat, looking entirely lost.
Akoya brushed her tail against his flank. I'll stay with you, Perzi. She turned to Randy. We'll keep the twins with us too. Let us know when she's been examined and you're ready for us.
Randy nodded and held out his hand, and after a slight hesitation, Persim placed Rosie gently into it. However, she woke, and started squirming, trying to return to her dad. She was shrieking loudly, and Randy felt his heart break all over for her.
I'm so sorry, Rosebud. I promise, this is to help you.
Lavender transformed into her human form, and like her dad put her luggage in the grass. You'll see your daddy again soon, Rosie.
Randy turned to go. We'll see you two later. ...Perzi, I'm sorry the trip has to start like this...
Me too... His voice was flat. Akoya floated to him and nuzzled his face.
Viv'll take good care of her. I promise.
Mild blood warning ahead
Every bit of him screamed. For sleep. For just a little rest.
But Rosie screamed louder.
Now in Mew form, Randy held the tiny Mew as his mom examined her closely. He ached for his niece. She was terrified, and reasonably so. He wondered if it would've been better for Perzi to come. From her eyes, first her mom had handed her off, and now her dad, on top of being hurt and poked and prodded by this huge new creature. That can't feel good to her.
That can't be good for her...
He shook off the train of thought. He took a breath, and started humming a gentle tune, trying to keep his thoughts comforting.
~We're done, Akoya.~
The blue Mew got the message, gathered her brother and the twins, and they teleported.
Persim curled around his daughter, huddled in the corner of what was called the "Guest room". The rest of the family had gone to eat some food, but for once, Persim didn't feel like eating.
He reflected on what Randy had relayed to him.
The physical worst of it seems to be a few possibly broken toes. There's no sign of concussion or wounds or breathing issues. But...
There's a high chance this will affect her mentally.
Perzi looked at his little mite. She was clinging tightly to his fur, finally sleeping soundly. He sighed. Of course it would. Anyone would be horrifically affected by an event like that.
Once again, tears sprung to his eyes.
I'm so sorry, Rosemary.
You didn't deserve this...

Now and then I think about how the nature of temporality in Arknights apropos of the main story relative to side stories (events) means that with a little effort, you can make a really good SRW-style SRPG with Arknights: There’s the myriad storylines, there’s the myriad characters, there’s a good combination of objective mechanical information and lore fluff for a lot of characters that would let you make really good, complete characters in terms of gameplay.
You could easily make something like:
1st Game: Main Story from Chernobog up until Faust and Mephisto; Break the Ice (can be a sizeable arc, allows for a lot of maps across the game’s length, likely early game until start of endgame); Maria Nearl (same as Break the Ice, midgame until the endgame); Under Tides (shorter than the previous two, end of midgame until the endgame, plus you get temporarily playable Irene in the vein of SRW giving you guest units for one or two maps in one game before they are fully recruitable in the next); Grani the Knights’ Treasure (you can cover this in one, maybe two maps); Twilight of Wolumonde (medium length arc and due to its structure, perfect for sprinkling maps about it across the early to midgame); Heart of Surging Flame (one long map-two maps); Code of Brawl (easy two mapper); Children of Ursus (SRW-style revised to be mixed in with Chernobog part of Main Story); Who Is Real (you can squeeze 2-3 maps easily; start of endgame upgrade for units like Lava and Kroos).
2nd Game: Main Story from where game 1 left off up until Talulah and the Deathless Black Snake, effectively ending the game with the end of the first arc; Beyond Here (AKA Archetto; short arc); Both Gavial Events (you can make big maps with Great Chief, whereas Ideal City would be interspersed with other plots to give it meat in terms of combat, a common event in SRW); Pynus Sylvestris & Near Light (you can get either some real long maps out of this or several medium length maps), Stultifera Navis (around the early midgame, you can squeeze 2 to 3 maps easily, and Seaborn can make for versatile enemy types elsewhere), Mansfield Break (you could put this anywhere, and you can milk it for a number of maps); Invitation to Wine (same as Mansfield Break); Guiding Ahead (you can go crazy with Guide Ahead thanks to the setting of Laterano and the structure of the event plus Andoain fits the “fucking HARD endgame RR boss” archetype with strong attacks and high dodge to a tee); Lingering Echoes (same as Guiding Ahead, really); Dorothy’s Vision (you can squeeze out some 3 maps out of it easily and a lot of new enemy types)
In SRW fashion, the Main Story in general would find itself slowed down and modified with downtime much like the main arc in an SRW tends to be a slow, game-length affair that finds itself entwined with many of the other arcs in the game, and likewise the arcs with the main story and between themselves. Of course, this also diverges from actual canon in that a lot of people that Shouldn’t Be There canonically, in this game’s canon, Would Be There, and that goes for the good guys as much as it does for the bad guys, which is always part of the appeal of a good ol’ SRW. It’d also be cool to see secret recruitable characters that you can’t get in canon or that die in canon join you if you satisfy certain secret requirements, like getting playable Big Bob and Monch and Viviana/Candle Knight, or being able to save FrostNova and/or Faust. Hell, sometimes SRW likes to throw curveballs and give you unexpected characters, so catch me with my endgame maxed out Jesselton (unlock: Defeat Jesselton exclusively by using Mountain, Robin and Kafka in the final Mansfield Break mission) and my #KHAGANQUEST (unlock: Every time Tola appears, defeat him with Blemishine).
I think the main challenge of the game would be to have a cohesive roster; SRW games tend to have massive rosters but that’s due to the sheer amount of stories they tend to cover in one single game, it actually tends to be few characters from each individual story, except the “featured” stories, which get more screentime and roster slots. In regards to some of the arcs, this is pretty easy: Abyssal Hunter Arc characters aren’t many (Skadi, Specter, Gladiia in the first game, plus Irene and Lumen in the sequel) and some of them are universal (Kal’tsit and Elysium), but then you have to make a decision of what 3*s, for example, make the cut as fully playable and not just NPCs, so as to not have bloat: Lava and Kroos are easy picks, for example. Break the Ice can give you a lot of people (SilverAsh, Courier, Matterhorn, Pramanix, Cliffheart, Kjera, Gnosis, secret Monch, secret Degenbrecher), which would make sense if you make it a meaty arc in the game overall, plus there’s a good variety of units you can get outta that.
I think the cast also lends itself to the usual SRW archetype of units: Amiya fits the “RR” type of unit that has low health but high evasion (based on her moves in the trailers, she’s highly agile), Blaze on the other hand seems like a perfect fit for the “SR” type of unit that has very low evasion but instead has huge bulk and just tanks the attacks instead (based on her duty as a Centurion, catching a ton of enemies at once and dealing with them while holding them and tanking them). Other RRs that come to mind are Ch’en, Irene, Whislash, Kroos, among others, while other SRs that come to mind are Specter, Blemishine, Mudrock, Matterhorn, among others. Then you have the less common archetypes, like Getters, AKA glass cannons with average bulk and low evasion but BIG damage, which can be units like SilverAsh (with S3 specifically in mind, giving him huge offense but making him quite fragile) and Skadi (very high HP and damage but low Defense means that HP goes down fast). You’d also have plenty of characters that would make sense to have innate Leadership (buff aura for nearby units), such as Amiya, Kal’tsit, Gladiia, SilverAsh, Big Bob, among others.
It goes without saying that you can make full use of the SRW tradition of giving units specific, very powerful team attacks, some of which could be pure fanservice, like Amiya and FrostNova having a team attack, and others which simply make sense, like the Sui Sisters (Nian, Dusk and Ling), the Abyssal Hunters, Pramanix and Kjera, Big Bob and Mudrock, among many others. The possibilities are legitimately really cool to imagine.
The setting and cast just works for an SRW style game, man.

Book Blurb:
For fans of Nimona and Snapdragon comes an exquisitely drawn medieval story about the friendship between a runaway child and a mysterious witch.
Born with paper-white skin, Martino is an outcast. To the villagers, albinism is more than a curiosity—it’s a curse. Bullied and shunned, Martino seeks refuge in the deep woods—and finds it in Viviana. Powerful and beautiful, Viviana belongs to a sisterhood of outcast women. Martino is welcomed into the fold and, drawing on the magic of the forest, is reborn.
In Rebis, Italian duo Irene Marchesini and Carlotta Dicataldo deliver a medieval fantasy steeped in mystery—a haunting and hopeful tale of transformation and found family.
Review:
A sweet and beautiful story about the friendship between an outcast runaway child and the mysterious witch who lives in the woods. Martino was born an albino and seen as a curse by the village, not only being bullied and shunned but being blamed for everything that went wrong in the village. Martino finds solace in the woods where Viviana, the witch lives. Martino befriends Viviana and soon a sweet friendship grows. As Martino begins to grow and find a new family, the story shows the delicate and sweet progress of it all. It's a really charming story about found family, change, and acceptance. So beautifully drawn and charming, it's a great coming of age story and a really sweet one that deals with being an outcast and coming into yourself and embracing who you are.

Have you got a certain event or photo of your story that you absolutely love or think about a lot?
Omfg- YES !!!! Excuse me while I speak way too much:
This shot from Act One, Scene One was really the beginning of my cinematic style. I still love it and have always wanted to make the look canonical in some event or engagement somewhere, but the whole point was it being, "so not Vivi."
These two shots, from Viviana I's Ruby Jubilee was supposed to note the comparison of Vivi's audience (close family, film crew, isolated) to Eloise's (most members of the extended Royal Family, heavy foreign royal presence, film crew AND press). I'm not sure if the message came across for anyone else, but I'm very fond of them.
Also from Viviana I's Ruby Jubilee was this shot of Arnaut @nexility-sims and Vivi happily taking a selfie- which is just SO fecking funny to me, because we've established that there is deep tension between the sisters (aka Vivi and HIS WIFE), to the point wherein Lorri would not attend the private event in Vivi's honor. My headcanon is that Vivi was mildly uncomfortable with his hand on her shoulder and Arnaut saw (and took) the opportunity to make a goof.
During @officalroyalsofpierreland 's state visit to the Ionian Union I got to showcase a lot of the lore I had builtup, but hadn't shared at that point: Tiara and Uniform Lore were the main ideas I wanted to present and I got to do that in a Royal Entrance. It may not be a big deal to Literally Anyone Else, but I always find protocol during state events so fascinating. Here's an article on state events involving royalty if anyone is interested.
Act Two changed SO much behind the scenes, but I was so incredibly dedicated to keeping the concert scene. The shots were beautiful and showcased me in the beginning stages of learning to edit my screenies. It was also incredibly important for Raheem's arc; they were engaged quickly, and this scene confirmed in his mind that he found someone who loves him for who he is, this was confirmation that he could be just a ken.
Adrienne visiting a royal watcher's blog and then wanting to meet her in person is forever funny to me. I'm also just- really proud of the page she's on still.
Viola and Raheem's wedding was very hard for me to shoot, but it paid tf off !!!! I'm still in love with absolutely every detail. The aesthetics were aesthetic-ing.
Raheem going with Elle to say goodbye to their Grandma will always be my favorite scene of Act Three. It was very personal for me. And- also, them crying and being vunerable after this shot showed personal growth for birth parties beyond belief.
Last, but certainly not least, this is my favorite shot from last post. I shot it forever ago at this point and I just- I loved and still love it for Reasons. @empiredesimparte

what's the Arknights plotline you like the least
For me it's Kazimierz, it has some weird undertones with the whole feudalism stuff
oh don't ask me favorite and least favorite video game things i'd get cancelled on twitter (read; feel free to do so at your own risk)
anyway. i wouldn't say there's a plotline i particularly dislike, per say? moreso ones i just. don't really care about. like personally i'm not that interested in kazimierz and sui dragon stuff beyond viviana and chongyue being epic, but i wouldn't put that at strictly dislike tier, it's just not a part of the game i'm 100% hyped for whenever there's an event relating to it
i do have trouble engaging with the main theme after the reunion arc ended though. if you had to make me pick one i'd settle for that
#dont get me wrong. love theresis' gang of guys who all hate him back. im a sucker for legions of evil that have awful workplaces#but the londinium arc just sorta. eh? i dont care for it. can't really quantify any better than that#it doesnt fit my vibe. stumbles into a lot of Common Arknights Writing Ls and it doesn't help that real world comparisons to the sarkaz are#iffy#ask#arknights

Julio Perez Silva (1963-?)
Julio Perez Silva, also known as the Psychopath from Alto Hospicio, is a Chilean serial killer, active between 1998-2001. He worked as a taxi driver and offered young people free rides; he took them somewhere remote, where he raped them and killed them by bludgeoning their heads. He would then throw their bodies into deep abandoned mine shafts. Most of Silva’s childhood was spent on the streets of Puchuncavi, where friends described him as a quiet, introverted child. At 22, Silva married Monica Cistemas and the couple had 2 daughters. He then spent 5 years with Marianela Vergara, and had 2 more daughters. In the mid-1990s, Silva emigrated to Iquique to work loading sacks of salt. At a party he met Nancy Boero, 14 years his senior and mother of 6. After 2 weeks the couple moved in together, settling in Alto Hospicio. Silva quit his job and started working as a taxi driver illegally. This is when his crime spree began.
On September 17, 1998, Silva picked up Montserrat Graciela Saravia, 17, on the waterfront of Iquique. She offered Silva money in exchange for sex, but intended to steal from him. When he figured this out, he beat her to death and left her on a beach. On November 24, 1999, he offered Macarena Sanchez, 13, a ride to school. After threatening her with a knife and raping her, he tied her hands together and threw her into the Huantajaya Pique. In February 2000, Silva attacked twice in 3 days. The first was Sara Gomez on February 21, followed by Angelica Lay, 23, both of whom were killed in the middle of the desert. On March 23, he killed Laura Zola, 14, who was also raped and murdered in Huantajaya. On April 5, Silva attacked Katherine Arce, whom he raped, murdered and buried in an unofficial garbage dump. On May 22, Patricia Palma, 17, was on her way home when Silva kidnapped, raped and killed her, leaving her body in Huantajaya with those of Sanchez and Zola. He attacked again 11 days later, raping and murdering Macarena Montecinos, then Viviana Garay, 15, who was raped and bludgeoned about the head. The father of the last victim mobilised the relatives of other victims, who had all fled their homes in order to find a better future for them and their children. As a result, Silva didn’t attack for 9 months. On April 17, 2001, he attacked Maritza, 15, threatening her with a knife and raping her, but not killing. She escaped and returned home. Her family took her to the hospital, where they took samples of the attacker’s semen. She later identified him by his voice, and the DNA samples were found to be a match.
On October 4, 2001, Silva committed his last attack, when Barbara Nunez survived. After hitting her on the head with a rock, he left her. She reported the attack and Silva was arrested. He admitted to all of the rapes and murders, confessing to having acted alone. Following his arrest, Silva provided information which led to the recovery of the other victims’ bodies. Since his arrest he is monitored 24 hours a day and is subjected to sleep control, due to an attempted suicide with a shoelace wound to a toothbrush. On February 26, 2004, Silva was sentenced to life imprisonment without the possibility of parole for the murders of 11 adolescents and 3 adults and the attempted murders of 2 more. He is currently incarcerated in the high security prison of Colina I in Santiago.

Skin: Medium Tan, neutral undertone Hair: Naturally Dark Brown, dyed Pastel Pink tips Eyes: Brown Height: 5’5” Build: Solidly built, a little overweight due to genetics and poor eating habits. Distinctions: Seldom seen out of a hoodie, wears a smattering of pop culture merchandise, color coded in pastel pink and heart motifs
Personality
Gentle | Perceptive | Introverted | Meek | Sentimental Type: INFP-T [The Mediator] Temperament: Phlegmatic-Melancholy [The Helper] Alignment: Neutral Good
Kindly, but distant, Gar is typically overlooked in social situations. She rarely takes the first step at making connections, although out of shyness rather than aloofness. Gar often wishes she could be more sociable, as she does enjoy sharing with others, but thinks herself too awkward and too bland in personality. Despite this, she’s incredibly easy to talk to for her down-to-earth approach and uncannily empathetic nature. Once she finds someone she feels she can properly open up to, she becomes someone with a goofy sense of humor, a passion for art, and a deep loyalty for those she cares for.
Gar is extremely passive on a day-to-day basis, even when wronged, and considers her “low-maintenance” to be a good quality. She’s a people-pleaser, usually at her own expense, but she would rather carry another’s burden than to face confrontation. She isn’t as okay with it as she tries to convince herself she is, which often leads to her harshly beating herself down for being too softhearted. She secretly harbors a deep self-loathing, which at it’s crux, can lead to severe emotional breakdowns.
Powers/Advantages
Gar isn't the most athletic person in a room, her free time being mostly spent on hours in front of a computer screen or with a sketchbook. Since spending time with the Hamato clan; however, she's slowly but surely begun to pick up on the ways of the ninja. What had started as simple Q&A's with Michelangelo and his nunchaku skills, turned into rudimentary but aptly learned lessons in self defense. She's a quick learner and far more observant than she lets on, with that kept in mind, Splinter eventually took the reigns in becoming her ninjutsu master. Either due to familiarity or wanting to share something with Mikey, she's chosen the nunchuck as her go-to weapon.
She's yet to put a name on it, as she isn't totally sure if it's an actual super ability or if she's just overly emotional, but she's noticed an affinity for picking up on others' feelings. It's almost as she can sense waves of emotion, the stronger the feeling, the more tangible it is to her. Sadness, anger and their varying degrees are the easiest for her to pick out. Gar is yet to fully explore this "power", but if anything, she finds it a bit of a hindrance. She works as a one-way door, she easily reads and gathers emotional information but when it starts to pile up, she finds that it's difficult to open up and let it out. The one good thing she can find use of it for is that she's nearly impossible to lie to. She may not know the definite truth, but it sure isn't whatever fib was just given to her. TL;DR: She’s an empath, but isn’t aware.
Notes
Makes her “debut” in S1 episode, The Unconvincing Turtle Titan. Gar had been caught in a mugging after having taken an alternate route from work to home for reasons she’s not keen on talking about. Mikey decided to do one last good deed as Turtle Titan, saving her. While he’d expected her to run away from him, she instead offered him the pizza she’d be carrying with as a sincere gesture of gratitude, and the two hit it off from there.
After the events of Shredder Strikes Back, Gar left New York with the Hamato clan to the Jones’ Farm. Her absence from work was swept under the rug due to a “Witness Protection Program” overseen by one “Agent” April O’Neil.
She was also brought in to live with the Turtles when they move back to New York and moves into April’s apartment when April’s reward money pays for her new apartment and repair of her antique shop.
Gar gets along just fine with the only other teen co-worker at Roy’s Pizza, Keno Reyes, but the two don’t truly forge a friendship until the Space Invaders arc. In the panic of the Triceraton Invasion, Gar is targeted as a potential lead to the Fugitoid. She and Keno put up a fight, but are ultimately no match, Gar gives herself up for a distraction to allow Keno to run away. When they find each other after the invasion is over, they gain a solid respect for one another.
The nunchucks she currently carries were given to her by Mikey, old ones he had trained with when he was younger. They’ve since been rewrapped with pink cloth to further “personalize”.
Having teamed up with and helped the original Justice Force during the episode Return of the Justice Force, she was given a place within the team as an honorary member.
As the series progresses, she becomes more self-assured and eventually takes up vigilantism with Casey during the year the Turtles were sent to the future. She continues being a gentle-hearted person, but has grown considerably in confidence.
It’s heavily hinted Gar evolves a crush on Mikey and the feelings may be mutual.

Sick Patrick Finds Out about Sick PonyCentral's Human Form
Happened during the Viviana Arc
Sick Patrick is busy cleaning the house. He hears a knock on the door.
Sick Patrick: Hmm? *opens the door* Oh.
Sick PonyCentral: *laughs* Hey, babe.
Sick Patrick: Sick PonyCentral?! Is that you? 😮
Sick PonyCentral: *sighs* Yeah... 😔
Sick Patrick: What happened to you? How did you become a human? 😟
Sick PonyCentral: Oh, it's nothing, really. I'm just... *sighs, then tears up*
Sick Patrick: Babe? 😟
Sick PonyCentral: I'm sorry, babe. I just feel like she's watching us. 😔
Sick Patrick: Who? Princess Viviana? 😟
Sick PonyCentral: Yep. 😔 😢
Sick Patrick: Aww babe. Please don't cry. I hate seeing you crying all the time.
Sick PonyCentral: *cries* I'm sorry for crying, babe. I'm just scared that she might hurt you. Just like Nathan's dad almost did. Viviana is a dangerous threat to all of Parodies Town.
Sick Patrick: Babe. Are you saying that your fear of me and your friends getting hurt causes you to transform into a human? 😟
Sick PonyCentral: Yeah... My human form has been a secret for a while. Most entities have a human form. 😔
Sick Patrick: Well, I kind of like you as a human. I think you look pretty babe. 😊
Sick PonyCentral: Oh, really? 😮
Sick Patrick: Yeah. You're protecting us anyway. We're both safe. Hey, uh... Viviana doesn't know about your human form, does she? 😟
Sick PonyCentral: I sure hope so. We can only hope that our friends can take her down.

novel prep tag
tagged by @quilloftheclouds! thank you :D
Decided to do this for Pirate’s Bane, since it isn’t finished yet :D
(So this is the third time I’m trying to write this stupid thing, since apparently, changing window size closes the post---and, of course, a draft isn’t auto-saved.)

FIRST LOOK
1. Describe your novel in 1-2 sentences (elevator pitch).
Five years ago, Alinora learned that Fate had betrayed Eldora, and that she was the only one who could stop her. Now, the only person who knows how Fate can be stopped has lost her memory, and Fate’s Champion is wreaking havoc. Alinora must once again rise to the occasion… but this time, things are going to be a little more difficult.
2. How long do you plan for your novel to be? (Is it a novella, single book, book series, etc.?)
It’s the second in a seven book series! At least, as of the current planning—that number could change. I’m hoping that this one will be about 85k words!
3. What is your novel’s aesthetic?
Choppy seas; rocky shores; lightning arcing through the sky; a stone fortress overlooking a port village. Winding roads; tall mountains; ancient ruins; foggy forests. Blackened finger tips; glowing swords; whispers on the edge of your mind; secrets that could change the world. Shadows like mist around legs; ghosts from myriad centuries; old bones; ravens crying overhead.
4. What other stories inspire your novel?
I think the biggest influences would be Lord of the Rings; the Hobbit; Avatar: the Last Airbender; and the Dragon Age series. Each feature large casts; epic adventures; lots of travel; and found family. There’s also major motifs of hope & love in LOTR and ATLA which I would like to recapture as well!
5. Share 3+ images that give a feel for your novel.
Here’s my pinterest board, + 3 images off of it:
MAIN CHARACTER.
6. Who is your protagonist?
Alinora Mynerva is the main protagonist, but she has a group of friends (though she would categorize them as such at the moment) that I would also place in the protagonist column.
7. Who is their closest ally?
Currently, Elaena—Death’s eldest daughter and Eldora’s first reaper.
8. Who is their enemy?
Kaltain Inerra, Fate’s Champion; the goddess of Fate; the spirit possessing Talitha Jade; and ???
9. What do they want more than anything?
If you asked her that, she would tell you that she just wants to defeat Fate so that she can rest in peace. The truth is a little more complicated. She wants to make up for failing her people; to earn forgiveness for the lives that were lost because of her inattention and cowardice.
10. Why can’t they have it?
Because the only person who knows how to defeat Fate is currently amnesiac. And as for the rest—well. It’s her own forgiveness that she has to seek, and that’s something she doesn’t understand yet.
11. What do they wrongly believe about themselves?
That she’s somehow at fault for Mynera’s fall 15 years ago. That if she gets close to people, they’ll get hurt, or they’ll die. That loving people makes her vulnerable, that it’s somehow a weakness she can’t let people exploit. That by keeping people at arm’s length she’s protecting herself.
12. Draw your protagonist! (Or share a description)
How ‘bout a picrew?
PLOT POINTS
13. What is the internal conflict?
Alinora vs her insecurities / self-loathing.
14. What is the external conflict?
Alinora & co vs Kaltain; Alinora & co vs Fate; Alinora & co vs Tali; Alinora & co vs ???
15. What is the worst thing that could happen to your protagonist?
Someone dying. Failing.
16. What secret will be revealed that changes the course of the story?
Sometimes one is actually three. Disappearing doesn’t always mean dead.
17. Do you know how it ends?
Yep ;)
BITS AND BOBS
18. What is the theme?
Not everything is as it seems. Caring about people isn’t a weakness. Sometimes the power was within you the whole time. It isn’t weak to ask for help; everyone needs to lean on someone sometimes. No one is an island; you can’t do everything alone.
19. What is a recurring symbol?
Corvids (ravens & crows); shadows; lightning; crowns; secrets.
20. Where is the story set? (Share a description!)
The world of Eldora is full of magic. It flows through the very veins of the world; and (almost) anyone can use it.
21. Do you have any images or scenes in your mind already?
Absolutely!
22. What excited you about this story?
Aishlynn and Talitha’s roles; getting to see Alinora as Champion; getting to reveal some big secrets; getting to experience Asa and Viviana as more than just background characters.
23. Tell us about your usual writing method!
Usually when I have an idea, I’ll already have some key scenes in mind—usually the beginning, ending, and some middles. I have two plot templates, and I pick whichever one suits me at the time, slip my scenes into it, and fill the rest of out as best I can. I build a pinterest board, & then get writing. I typically write chronologically, but if a scene bugs me enough I’ll go ahead and write it & see how it fits once I get there.

in viviana’s original story from 4573948323 years ago, she was half demon. literally the spawn of satan. but she didn’t know he was her real father, she didn’t know she had demon blood. and i was just thinking how interesting it would be to incorporate that into viv’s story again. liKE THE ANGST. someone could stake her and she wouldn’t die and everyone would just be ???!??!!!??? and because of her demon blood, she could be able to compel other vampires, which is viv’s one wish in life lol. and then all the fun of viv finding out and figuring out what else she can do because of who her father is.
idk though. the reason i never brought this into viv’s portrayal in indie rp is because i didn’t want to make her invincible or like a mary sue ( which. just. ugh. i hate that term. i hate it i hate it i hate it. it’s awful for so many reasons i want to burn it with fire. but it was a thing and female ocs faced so much stigma as it is and then that ridiculous term on top /rolls eyes. ) because i was super paranoid of people not liking me or her. and i kind of still am.
so i’m definitely not saying i’m making major changes to her. mostly i’m just reminiscing. but if anyone would like to interact with this version of her, definitely hit me up.
#basically i was reading old writings and i have ideas#will i ever share these writings?#possibly.#it's not out of the question#my writing partner back then and i created a whole universe with viviana and some of my other ocs from my multi muse#and we basically rped through drabbles#like she would write one and i'd write one#and we'd both come up with plot twists#and lucifer was part of our little universe#and i came up with the idea that he was viviana's real father#and killing him would kill viviana#but viv never told anyone this after she found out#so when they killed him she died too#and then there was a whole reincarnation arc and she had a twin brother#it was all very dramatic i love it i miss it#𝒱 crazy bird lady. ❪ ooc. ❫#*besides my ocs she had ocs too

Ghost Wolf Vol.3 #2
Ghost Wolf vol.3 #2 Amigo Comics 2020 Written by Massimo Rosi Illustrated by Vito Coppola Coloured by Viviana Di Chiara Lettered by Monkey Typers A Tale of Two Wolves Mara attacks the Lumen in a desperate attempt to stop them from reaching the Stone, the place where an ancient, Hungry God was sealed. And there is no sign of Lif, the last Ghost Wolf. I am such a fan of Amigo and these franchises that they’ve created and maintain through these limited series arcs. While it’s always best to read them all it isn’t always necessary, this for instance is one that I can say is new reader friendly. If there is something in the past that we need to know then Massimo finds a way to work that into the story. I think this is a stellar look at the past, present and the future in ways that should actually surprise you. I like how we see Amma and her sage words of wisdom to Mara versus the sheer blind faith and madness that comes from the Lumen. I do find what each side offers itself and others to be beneficial to their people, okay not the Lumen, but this is so much like what we know and have seen that it is still frightening to see play out here. I am a fan of the way that this is being told. How we see the story & plot development through how the sequence of events unfold as well as how the reader learns information moves everything forward beautifully. The way that we see events happen so that there isn’t a need to bounce around shows such a great structure to the book. Massimo is a brilliant writer and if you haven’t had the pleasure yet then start here. Because the flow, the structure and how we see these little things that accumulate into larger ones is spectacularly well presented. The character development that we see is fantastic! The way we see the character behave, how they react and act to the situations and circumstances before them continue to flesh them out as complete, whole people. The pacing is superb and as it takes us through the pages revealing the twists and turns along the way we see how everything works together to create the books ebb & flow. The interiors here are beautiful as well. I like how we see the linework and its varying weights and techniques utilised throughout to bring forth the attention to detail that we see. There is a traditional comic book style within these pages but it’s done in such a non-traditional way. How we see backgrounds being utilised throughout not only enhance the moments we see but they bring depth perception, a sense of scale and that overall sense of size and scope to the story. The utilisation of the page layouts and how we see the angles and perspective in the panels show a strong and talented eye for storytelling. The colour work we see is fantastic as well. The opening for example with it’s grey scales creating this almost cement feel is so outrageously good, then adding colour and utilising the hues and tones within them to showcase the shading, highlights and shadow work is exceptional. I think this is one of the more fascinating stories that you’ll find on stands. What we currently take for granted could be gone and the world thrust into a new different age based on our civilisations past. Can you imagine an event or series of events that could have that kind of power and influence to mankind? Perhaps, perhaps, perhaps.

Who do you think the characters you added today are most like in the Glee universe?
Alastair Korvac - I would say Alastair is also like Finn, probably more so than Jamie. He’s a very friendly jock and never liked being a bully, and can be very susceptible to peer pressure, kind of how Finn was in the very beginning of the show. I also think the two will go through some similar arcs as well, but it may be too early to say.
Viviana Campbell- She seems more like Kitty than any of the other Cheerio-types. She’s very youthful and a bit of a diva that reminds me more of Kitty than Quinn or Santana, but she does kind of remind me of Rachel in that respect. There are some elements of early seasons Quinn in her, but maybe a little bit more childish.
Kat Bailey- Definitely Marley. She’s a very sweet, almost a girl-next-door type, but she’s had her issues and trauma, similar to what Marley went through on her seasons. She also tends to mask her sadness and her issues, something that Marley also did (if I remember correctly, it’s been a while since I watched glee past season three). She’s also a bit like season one Tina, with her shyness.
