Vitamin B12 Prices Trend | Pricing | News | Database | Chart
Vitamin B12, also known as cobalamin, plays a crucial role in various metabolic processes, making it an essential nutrient across multiple industries, including pharmaceuticals, food supplements, and animal feed. Over recent years, the market for Vitamin B12 has experienced dynamic fluctuations in pricing due to several factors. Supply chain constraints, raw material availability, manufacturing complexities, and shifts in demand are some of the critical elements shaping the cost structure of this vital nutrient. As the global focus on health and wellness intensifies, the demand for Vitamin B12 has been steadily increasing, influencing market prices and creating a competitive landscape among producers.
One of the primary factors driving Vitamin B12 prices is the cost of raw materials used in its production. The manufacturing process for Vitamin B12 is complex, requiring sophisticated biotechnological methods. This dependency on advanced technologies often translates into higher production costs, which, in turn, impact the final market price. Additionally, raw material availability can be inconsistent due to geopolitical factors or supply chain disruptions, further adding volatility to Vitamin B12 prices. For example, the availability of fermentation-based raw materials often fluctuates, impacting the overall production capacity and creating ripple effects throughout the supply chain.

The global Vitamin B12 market is heavily influenced by key manufacturing hubs, particularly in countries like China and India. These regions dominate the production due to their advanced infrastructure, lower labor costs, and well-established chemical industries. However, any regulatory changes or environmental policies in these regions can significantly impact Vitamin B12 prices. For instance, stricter environmental regulations aimed at controlling industrial emissions have occasionally led to temporary shutdowns or reduced production capacities, driving up costs. Such regulatory measures, while necessary for environmental protection, contribute to price fluctuations and market uncertainty.
Another factor influencing Vitamin B12 prices is the growing consumer demand for dietary supplements and fortified foods. As health-conscious consumers seek to address deficiencies and improve overall well-being, the demand for Vitamin B12-enriched products has surged. This heightened demand, particularly in developed regions like North America and Europe, has placed additional pressure on the supply chain. Producers have been striving to meet this demand, but scaling up production often requires significant investment, which can further elevate market prices. Moreover, the rising popularity of plant-based diets has led to an increased need for Vitamin B12 supplementation, as this nutrient is primarily found in animal-based foods. This dietary shift has amplified demand, pushing prices higher.
The pharmaceutical industry also plays a significant role in shaping Vitamin B12 prices. As cobalamin is a critical ingredient in various medications and therapeutic applications, the pharmaceutical sector accounts for a substantial share of its global demand. The development of innovative delivery systems, such as injections, tablets, and capsules, has expanded the application of Vitamin B12 in the medical field. However, the stringent quality standards and regulatory compliance required for pharmaceutical-grade Vitamin B12 often result in higher production costs, influencing market prices. Manufacturers must adhere to strict guidelines, which can increase the overall expense associated with producing pharmaceutical-grade Vitamin B12.
Market trends and macroeconomic factors further impact Vitamin B12 prices. Exchange rate fluctuations, inflation, and trade policies can all play a role in determining the cost structure. For instance, international trade tariffs on raw materials or finished products can influence pricing dynamics, particularly for exporters and importers. Additionally, the global economic climate, including factors such as labor costs and energy prices, directly affects production expenses, contributing to variations in Vitamin B12 pricing. These economic influences often create regional disparities, with prices differing across markets based on local conditions and trade agreements.
Technological advancements in the production of Vitamin B12 have also impacted its pricing trends. Innovations in fermentation technology and synthetic biology have the potential to enhance production efficiency, reducing costs in the long term. However, the initial investment in research and development, along with the implementation of new technologies, can lead to temporary price increases. Manufacturers often need time to recoup these investments, which may result in higher prices during the transition period. Nonetheless, as these technologies become more widely adopted, they could contribute to price stabilization and improved accessibility.
Sustainability concerns and consumer preferences for eco-friendly products have also begun to influence Vitamin B12 production and pricing. Many consumers are increasingly prioritizing products made using sustainable practices, pushing manufacturers to adopt environmentally responsible methods. While these practices are commendable, they often come with added costs, such as investments in renewable energy sources or waste management systems. These additional expenses can be passed on to consumers, impacting the overall price of Vitamin B12 products. However, the long-term benefits of sustainable production, including reduced environmental impact and enhanced brand reputation, may offset these costs over time.
In conclusion, the pricing dynamics of Vitamin B12 are shaped by a complex interplay of factors, including raw material costs, regulatory policies, consumer demand, technological advancements, and economic conditions. As global demand continues to rise, driven by the increasing focus on health and wellness, the market for Vitamin B12 is expected to remain vibrant yet challenging. While technological innovations and sustainability initiatives hold promise for long-term price stabilization, short-term fluctuations are likely to persist due to supply chain uncertainties and macroeconomic factors. For stakeholders across the value chain, staying informed about these trends is essential to navigating the evolving market landscape effectively.

Free Search the Asia Pacific Vitamin B12 Prices Online
North America
The Vitamin B12 Prices displayed mixed sentiments at the beginning of the first quarter of 2023, with prices estimated in January 2023 at $2073350/MT and March 2023 at $2005780/MT CFR California, respectively. Following the previous quarter's market volatility, market participants had anticipated that the choppy waters would continue to hang over the pharmaceutical and nutraceuticals market during the first quarter of 2023. The market dynamics were kept in check by sustained end-user demand and low to moderate inquiries from downstream suppliers. The first half of the quarter was positively influenced by the lifting of the zero-Covid Ban in China in the first week of January as the supply chain and trade continued to strengthen, resulting in a decline in freight costs. Businesses in the US increased employment in January, and wages rose as a result of a sustained severe labor shortage. Because of a downturn in local consumer demand and record high warehouse stockpiles in the second half of the quarter, domestic merchants reduced manufacturing orders by as much as 40%.
Asia Pacific
In Asia Pacific, the first quarter of 2023 proved to be advantageous for China as the country's decision to abolish stringent COVID-19 restrictions in the first week of January gave the trillion-dollar economy, which had suffered greatly over the previous four years, new vigor. In the domestic Chinese market, however, the price pattern during the first quarter of 2023 was downward, with FOB Shanghai prices falling from $1725575/MT in January to $1611000/MT in March. Following a week-long Lunar Holiday, the price of Vitamin B12 in the domestic market for nutraceuticals and pharmaceuticals experienced a roll-over sentiment for two consecutive weeks in January. Technically speaking, the markets returned from vacation on a strong note with increased local and international orders and shipments. After the markets recovered from the covid-induced lull and a week-long celebration, a sharp downturn in manufacturing was seen in China during the second half of 2022. The declining end-user demand from both local and foreign markets is mostly to blame for China's fall.
Europe
During the Q1 of 2023, prices for Vitamin B12 were estimated at $1799960 per MT in January 2023 and $1795600 per MT in March 2023, respectively. With an increase in orders and shipments from both local and foreign markets, the pharmaceutical and nutraceutical industries in Europe started the first quarter on a positive note. The local market's participants detected positive arbitrage in the majority of the quarter because the forecast for supply and demand looked positive. As inflation pressures reduced during a protracted period of the Russia-Ukraine war and China's surprise covid re-opening, the European market has shown optimistic indicators together with the improvement in end-user demand from both producers and suppliers, paving the way for a swift recovery in activity. The cost of shipping containers between Asia and Europe has also drastically decreased in the second half of the quarter to pre-pandemic levels or below, illustrating strong demand and supply dynamics.

Gummy Vitamins Rule.
Turned on to the whole "gummy vit" thing by my groovy tumblr friend who sends surprise CARE Packages of thoughtfully-chosen items.
The things have actually made a huge difference in my energy levels since I started taking them. The first ones are the "Vitafusion Men's" multis...which were a hit with me from the git-go. Assorted fruity flavors.
And since I'd posted about my doc actually prescribing Vit D in massive doses, to be followed up by dailies, the Vit D3 gummies, in Orange, Lemon and Strawberry do the trick.
These made such a difference, I figured I'd try the ones for additional B-Complex w/C (strawberry), and the ones that are just a massive hit (3000mcg) of B12 alone, in a yummy not-at-all B-vitamin-tasting Raspberry.
They are all reasonably priced, as well, about $10/bottle, for enough for at least a month or more.
I will say this: The B12 super-shots are the closest thing to "legal speed" I've experienced in quite a while. Talk about energy boost, but at the same time a noticeable increase in ability to FOCUS on what I'm doing.
I can see why, toward the end of her life when the ravages of alcohol had taken their toll, legendary sparrow of Paris, Edith Piaf, would have her doctor shoot her up with a massive syringe of B12 backstage before she went onstage.
As an old fart who hasn't taken vitamins consciously in DECADES (and hated the pill-taking regimen they required), I now take them faithfully as a treat with my coffee in the morning.
Highly recommend. Massive "Bang-For-Buck" energy.

50 years!
We had a nice weekend celebrating my in-laws 50th anniversary. My husband found the perfect venue for a dinner party. Really, really good family style food and nice cocktails. It was at an Upstate hotel so the kids were able to run around the campground. Worked out perfectly. Then all 28 of us went to a YMCA family camp the family has been going to since my husband's generation was little. The kids were in heaven. I wasn't much looking forward to it. Or rather I was looking forward to it for my kids but it was too much togetherness for me. Plus, I always worry about baby boy is going to do. The first morning baby boy and I walked on the river. It was just about as perfect as a morning could be. We threw in about a million rocks and he was his funny self. Listening to him talk on and on is the best. There were def points where it was a little to much on time but overall it went well. Glad my kids have such amazing family to love and support them. My in-laws were very happy.
Back to work today.
I volunteered to host glow parties for all the kids at school who don't get an official graduation ceremony school. I found a reasonably priced silent disco headphone company - that I think the kids will get a kick out of. Looking up glow party stuff is keeping me entertained. I wanted to make glowing drinks but it involved crushing up vitamin B12. Only one tablet per gallon - so totally healthy but I read it may turn your pee green. I didn't want to freak out 200 sets of parents so I think we will skip that. Our Principal is always down for a party. One of the Vice Principals is a bit of a curmudgeon and does not seem thrilled with the idea. When I mentioned food she was like "food, FOOD? no one told me there would be food. Do you understand there will be food all over the ground?" Um lady a party implies food.

I have a lot of things to write about my attempt to induce lucid dream, i start it from March this year, what a long time journey and i am still here… sigh..
Back to lucid dream, ( traditional method as MILD, WILD, etc i tried those sometimes, but lately i stick to SSILD when WBTB and yoga nidra before sleep, i always keep my dream journal too, you will be surprise how many log in my dream journal but no LD yet 🥲, and of course reality check every hour and sometimes i did ADA ( all day awareness)*correct me if i am wrong)
Tried, a lot of herb for induce LD but nothing worked for me, silly me bought 3 pouch of mugwort tea back then ( one pouch is 30 bag of tea ), the taste is horrible, who in the world like this kind of tea, even i like tea i hate this one 😭 drank it before sleep, no effect, drank it when WBTB, no effect, even i didnt get any vivid dream and my dream recall so horrible after that. Wonder why people succeeded with it…
Blue lotus, that one is expensive one and i just got a little flowers for quite of money to spent 🥲 not worked for me too ( i want to hit myself ) in the first time i drank it i had this really long deep sleep i ever had, like you just hit your pillow and close your eyes for one second and one second later you open your eyes, you already sleep for 7 hours! I am grateful for that one though, i never sleep like that before. But yeah after that first time it didn't do anything for me anymore, not deep sleep, not vivid dream or i even can't remember my dream.
After that, i don't want to tried the tea or herbs again, due to disappointment, and then, came these supplements…
Anyone maybe did heard a lot about vitamin B, especially B6 and B12 which coincidentally make people LD, well lucky for me because i lack on these vitamins (including vitamin D) and i bought it for my health too, i bought only vitamin with B1, B6 and B12 in it first but i change to B-complex ( there are choline in it so also need it for my memory, i had the most bad memory in the world if i can say it) so it's a win-win if i really did LD with it too but well… you know the outcome already. But one day i tried this B1, B6 and B12 vitamin one when i did WBTB, i did have semi-lucid(?) one when anything out of place like who in the world can pull blanket through the wall?????? Yeah it was me and i keep thinking it was normal to pulled blanket through the wall, i always like this when had ‘really dream-like scene and there no way you can witness an do it in real life’ and keep thinking it was okay, dam—- what an idiot 😭
But tell you what, after regularly consume B-complex and vitamin D3 frequently my dream became kinda vivid and my recall more better than before consume these vitamins. That's a great progress i guess.
And the recent supplements i just bought a week ago! Huperzine-A and Alpha-GPC! Sigh anything related to brain always expensive 😭 you guys know Galantamine? Yeah that one supplement also the most potent tool for induce LD due to people who review it on reddit, but sadly i can't bought it and you need prescription to buy it (and the price my god more pricey than those two i just mentioned… just why…😭)
Like how stupid i was, i consumed it both when WBTB, due to high choline in these two i am not surprised i was so sick and wanted to fainted after i woke up. Hard to falling asleep again but try to force it but i feel uncomfortable don't know why, and didn't get any dream, maybe because how high choline in my body that day, these two supplements work so fast like the effect will peak at around 10-15 min after you consume it.
I bought the 250 uhm mcg or mg(?) Huperzine-A i don't remember sorry ( i told you my memory is trash 😭 luckily this two main benefits is help with memory and cognitive) and uhm 600 mg Alpha-GPC 50% so you will only get 300 mg when you consume it one pill.
The question is why these supplements? Well, i can't explain it because i am not expert or really know, but choline is help with active brain when we are sleep, and like Galantamine which is for Alzheimer disease, these kind of supplements for Alzheimer found out to be effective and coincidentally induced LD, that curious isn't it? If you really want to know and curious search it up yourself because i can't explain more than this 🤣
Planning to using this for just once per week, because these supplements stay inside body kinda in a long time. I am out of method and kinda tired to always met with disappointment so i tried supplements, but it's also help my brain so i can't complain 🥲

Vitamin B12 Price | Prices | Pricing | News | Database | Chart
Vitamin B12, also known as cobalamin, is a vital nutrient that plays a crucial role in maintaining healthy nerve cells, producing DNA, and supporting the production of red blood cells. The market for Vitamin B12 supplements has grown significantly over the past few years due to increasing awareness about its health benefits, particularly for those on plant-based diets or with conditions that limit absorption of this essential vitamin. This growth in demand has had a notable impact on the price of Vitamin B12 supplements, and several factors influence these prices.
First and foremost, supply and demand is a primary factor. As more people become aware of the importance of Vitamin B12, particularly in regions where veganism or vegetarianism is popular, the demand for supplements has surged. This increase in demand naturally leads to higher prices, especially if the supply chain faces any disruptions. Additionally, the production of Vitamin B12 is a complex process that typically involves bacterial fermentation, which requires specific technological infrastructure and expertise. Any increase in production costs, whether from raw materials, energy costs, or labor, is often passed on to the consumer in the form of higher prices. Moreover, fluctuations in the global supply chain, particularly in sourcing raw materials from certain countries, can cause volatility in the pricing of these supplements.
Get Real Time Prices for Vitamin B12: https://www.chemanalyst.com/Pricing-data/vitamin-b12-1254
The type of Vitamin B12 being produced also impacts pricing. There are different forms of Vitamin B12 available in the market, including cyanocobalamin, methylcobalamin, hydroxocobalamin, and adenosylcobalamin. Cyanocobalamin is the most common and typically the least expensive form due to its stability and ease of production. Methylcobalamin, on the other hand, is often more expensive because it is a more bioavailable and active form, which some consumers prefer due to its purported superior health benefits. As a result, consumers seeking high-quality or natural forms of Vitamin B12 may find themselves paying significantly more than those who are satisfied with synthetic alternatives. Furthermore, some brands position themselves as premium due to their manufacturing processes, organic certifications, or other quality markers, which can significantly increase the price per bottle or dosage of Vitamin B12.
Branding and packaging also contribute to price variations. Vitamin B12 supplements from well-established or premium brands tend to cost more due to the value associated with brand trust, customer loyalty, and perceived quality. These brands often invest heavily in marketing, research, and maintaining stringent quality controls, which are reflected in their higher prices. On the other hand, lesser-known or generic brands might offer similar products at lower prices but may not carry the same brand recognition or customer assurance. In addition to branding, packaging choices such as recyclable materials, eco-friendly packaging, or specialized containers for preserving the vitamin's potency can also add to the overall cost.
The type of retail channel through which Vitamin B12 supplements are sold also affects pricing. Supplements sold through brick-and-mortar stores often come with a higher price tag than those sold online due to the overhead costs associated with running a physical store, such as rent, utilities, and staffing. Online retailers, by contrast, can often offer lower prices as they benefit from reduced operational costs and can pass those savings on to the consumer. Additionally, direct-to-consumer models that eliminate intermediaries also tend to offer more competitive pricing for Vitamin B12 supplements. However, consumers must consider shipping costs and potential delays when purchasing online, which can sometimes offset the lower prices.
Geographic location plays a role as well, as the cost of Vitamin B12 supplements can vary from country to country. In regions with higher import taxes, duties, or stricter regulations regarding dietary supplements, prices are often higher. Conversely, in countries where supplements are produced locally and regulations are less stringent, prices may be lower. Furthermore, the purchasing power of consumers in different regions also affects pricing strategies by manufacturers and retailers. For instance, in wealthier countries or areas with a high health-conscious population, manufacturers may price their Vitamin B12 products higher because consumers are more likely to pay for quality supplements.
Seasonal trends and health-related news can also cause temporary fluctuations in Vitamin B12 prices. For example, during cold and flu seasons, or after the release of studies linking Vitamin B12 deficiencies to specific health issues, there may be spikes in demand for the vitamin, leading to temporary price hikes. Similarly, as more influencers or health experts advocate for the benefits of Vitamin B12, particularly in relation to energy levels, mood, and brain health, demand increases, driving prices up.
Lastly, government policies and regulations surrounding dietary supplements impact Vitamin B12 pricing. In some countries, supplements are highly regulated, which can raise production costs due to compliance with stringent safety and efficacy standards. For example, obtaining certifications like GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) or adhering to FDA (Food and Drug Administration) regulations in the United States can increase costs for manufacturers. These costs are often passed down to consumers, leading to higher retail prices. Conversely, in countries with less regulation or where Vitamin B12 is classified as a food product rather than a supplement, prices might be lower due to fewer regulatory hurdles.
In conclusion, the price of Vitamin B12 supplements is influenced by a variety of factors, including supply and demand, the form of Vitamin B12, branding, retail channels, geographic location, seasonal trends, and government regulations. Consumers seeking to purchase Vitamin B12 should be aware of these variables, as they can significantly affect the cost of this essential nutrient. With the growing demand for health supplements and an increasing number of people becoming aware of the benefits of Vitamin B12, it is likely that prices will continue to fluctuate depending on market dynamics and the aforementioned factors. However, by understanding these influences, consumers can make more informed decisions and potentially find better deals on Vitamin B12 supplements that suit their needs and budget.

The first half of the quarter was positively influenced by the lifting of the zero-Covid Ban in China in the first week of January as the supply chain and trade continued to strengthen, resulting in a decline in freight costs

Thing's Rambles #1: Eggs
Eggs! You know them, you love them—at least I hope so, considering how awesome... Food?... They are. I think eggs are a category of their own. Ah, whatever, we're going out of topic.
(long shtick about eggs below, will bore u to death)
One of the reasons eggs, chicken eggs specifically, are so crucial to the past and modern day is because the birds who lay them can do so indefinitely as opposed to other birds who only lay a certain number at a time. So long as their nest is empty, presumably taken by predators (humans), then they can lay just about every day. In the industry, male chicks are basically useless, which results in a mass crush every day. Fortunately, scientists are working on changing the sex of the chick in the eggs. However, I don't know anything about that yet.
Speaking of eggs, a man somewhere in the 1970's conducted the '7 Country Study', his conclusion being that eggs raise the chances of CVD (cardiovascular disease, AKA heart attacks) by 17% due to the SatFat (saturated fat) and cholesterol. This, of course, raised panic and attention in the public, especially when the government set guidelines for saturated fat and cholesterol. While this link isn't necessarily 100% false, it is a clunking argument. Especially in comparison to the other study linking IR (insulin resistance) to CVD, which is also linked to high sugar and high carbohydrate consumption. And while it's still not an all-time cause, it's still true 90% of the time. Remember the '7 Country Study' I mentioned prior? It was actually conducted in 22 countries, except 15 of them proved to be against what the study was about, so he ditched them. What's even more baffling than this is that even after 50 years of study after study after study, these government guidelines are still in place. Eggs do not cause CVD, rather the exact opposite, and then some more.
I'm not completely sure what the nutrients that specifically fight against CVD are (mainly because they have unpronounceable names), but eggs still carry massive benefits for your skin, muscles, bones, organs, and even your brain! This is because of the many vitamins (especially vitamin B) and high protein. Time for the main part.
Laying it all out front, a whole egg contains: Vit A (has a part in yolk coloring), Vit E (good for the heart and skin), Vit K1, Vit B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, B12, and Vit D. Those are just the vitamins. Eggs also contain DHA (omega 3), which is for the brain; folate for degenerative disease; choline to burn fat and help against fatty liver; and lutein and zeaxanthin, which are beneficial for your eyes.
And then protein—my favorite part. It's amazing, really, because of its ability to help build protein tissues and the percentage of egg protein made into our protein. In comparison, we get 17% of its protein from soy, 16% from whey, 32% from meat or fish, and a whopping 48% from eggs. You can really see the difference between egg yolk and egg white when you take into consideration that egg white's percentage is merely 17%.
Alright, so now that we know we get a lot of protein from eggs, what do we do with that protein?
Well, how it works is that when our body receives protein, it either invests it into tissues (skin, muscles, bones) or energy (glucose). The ratio of how much protein is invested in tissues to glucose is actually dependent on the meal from which the protein is extracted. For example, when you get protein from meat, 30% of that protein goes into the development of your skin, muscles, bones, joints, etc. (tissues), and 70% of the protein becomes glucose (energy). For eggs, it's 49% for tissues and 51% for glucose, ranking it as the highest rate of protein for tissues, but only after breastmilk, which is a whole different and fascinating discussion.
So far, we've talked about why chicken eggs are special, scandals against them, and the great yet still incomplete benefits of them. Lastly, we will talk about egg quality.
-Is the price difference between cheap and expensive eggs worth it?
Absolutely! You'll be getting more bang for your buck. In fact, some suggest that buying the cheap ones makes you gain 40–60% less worth.
-Types of eggs: Pasture eggs are definitely the best type. The others are free-range eggs and no-cage eggs, etc.; eh, most of these are just marketing terms anyway.
-Yolk color; do they matter? Well, yes, but actually, no. They do, sure, but you can't really be too sure since farmers are prone to using artificial coloring.
-Grades: grade B eggs, grade A eggs, and grade AA eggs. Do these actually matter?
No. Grades are mostly based on cosmetics, which can hardly matter much when you whisk them up for baking. Plus, your grocery eggs are probably already grade A eggs.
All in all, the quality of eggs depends on what the chickens are fed and if they're ethically raised, but you can't control those factors. But what can you control? The way the eggs themselves are prepared.
Dr. Berg suggests the best method is cracking the egg on a lit pan, waiting until the whites turn into their white color but not too much, and then scrambling them. This way, you can optimize how much nutrition and protein you can squeeze out of your egg. Too tedious? Just scramble them normally.
I think the best part of eggs, despite how beneficial they are, is how relatively cheap and accessible they are. Don'tcha think?
P.S. Remember that omega 3 I told you about? The one that's good for your brain? That's a good omega. What's not a good omega is omega 6, specifically the oil restaurants use to fry eggs and such. This one actually increases the risk of CVD.
Time for fun facts!
Fun fact: The egg white has no fat.
Fun fact: You can get 101% of the choline that your body needs in a day with just 4 eggs.
Fun fact: 90% (approximate guess) of the good stuff is in the yolks, so yeah, you're going to have to eat them.
Fun fact: This text is over a thousand words long! Congrats on reading that much!

Rockstar original sugar free: now this it. This one is for me what energy drinks should be. What every energy drink tries to be. She's the platonic Idea of Energy Drink. Not too sweet, not too sour, just sour enough to be perfectly satisfying. No weird aftertaste. No stupid flavour or innovative concept, though I do love a stupid flavour and a stupid innovative concept. But this one doesn't need it, she's enough as she is. The girlboss. RedBull WISHES it was this Rockstar. The price is okay, less than a RedBull, obviously more than a Bunny or a Kong, what do you expect. But its middle-range price is just hiding the gem that this is. Huge downside: no B12 at all. One 500ml can perfectly hits 100% of your daily recommended amount of niacine, vitamin B6 and vitamin C, which just shows how all the other brands are overdoing it. 5/5 stars nonetheless. Will buy again forever.
