( chapter five ! )
"It's wonderful that your mother allowed you to attend the ball!"
Standing close to the refreshments table are Leah and Elizabeth, the pair adorned in extravagant dresses for the occasion. After hours of begging, Leah proved it worth it when her mother finally caved in. Elizabeth herself followed a similar strategy, though Francis seems slightly more lenient at the idea than Vivienne.
The young Barrett is dressed in a powder blue dress made of some of the highest quality fabric, bringing out the color of her eyes. Numerous small details surround the skirt as the top half is accentuated perfectly by her corset, followed by a pearl neckpiece that compliments her skin tone. Many eyes attach to her, capturing her every move through the ballroom. Brown hair also falls across her shoulders, curled at the end, and put up in a half up-half down style.
Despite having previously been upset that her mother wasn't going to be debuting her this season, Leah now appears reluctant due to the attention she gathers, "Yes.. Amazing, isn't it?" she fights back a sigh, opting to pick up a glass and sip at the liquid she's unfamiliar with.
All Leah and Elizabeth are capable of hearing is the immense chatter that fills the room, nearly drowning out their voices if they don't speak loud enough. Not far from the teenage girls stand their mothers and surprisingly, Edward, conversing while chaperoning the pair through the night's endeavors.
"Just look at all the beautiful dresses!" Elizabeth sings, hands tightly clasped together as she observes the other women in the room. Carrying herself away from Leah, she darts around the ballroom to begin interacting.
Watching her friend practically disappear before her eyes, Leah fights back another sigh, "Wait up!" Discarding the drink in her hands, the brunette begins to chase after her friend, unable to hear Edward attempting to call her back.
"I was going to ask to her dance.." Edward says with a look of defeat.
"You'll find the chance." Vivienne smiles, taking a sip from her glass of lemonade as she watches her daughter run off.
Across the room is a different story, Ciel wears a pink and black dress to disguise himself, utterly regretting all of his decisions. Trudging through the ballroom with an eye out for Viscount Druitt, he can't shake his disdain for his current situation.
"I really do not want my fiancé to see me like this.." Ciel's mind flashes to a vision of Leah, already picturing how she would react to seeing him in such a way. The thought of the shock, then gossip surrounds his brain in a thick fog.
"That head-piece is so exquisite!"
Sebastian and Ciel turn their heads at the speed of lightning to the sound of an all too familiar voice, eyes immediately settling upon the blonde and brunette pair. In between the two women, Elizabeth compliments any lady she comes across while Leah attempts to keep her on a leash and drag her away.
Glancing ahead of her, Elizabeth's eyes light up at the sight of Sebastian trying to whisk Ciel away, "That dress that girl is wearing is so cute!" she yells, but her voice dies down when the Phantomhive can break the line of sight within the large crowd of people in the room.
"Hm? Where did she go?" Elizabeth asks while turning her head every which way.
"She must have seen something that caught her eye. Or wanted to get away from you. Most strangers don't appreciate being chased.. even if you have good intent." Leah folds her hands near her abdomen, subtly messing with the fabric of her gloves.
Ducked behind a table, Ciel and Sebastian are mere feet away from Leah and Elizabeth. There's a tall and extravagant cake between them, which unlikely catches the eye of his fiancé, "Why are they here?! Anyway, let's go to where the ladies are.."
"Oh Elizabeth, look at the cake! It's beautiful." Leah muses, admiring the intricate details that surround the dessert.
Shifting her attention from the task of trying to find the mysterious woman, Elizabeth is just as content at the sight of the cake before them, "It is! We must have a slice together when they cut it!" She nods.
"I— I couldn't.." Leah breathes out, placing a hand lightly above her stomach with knitted brows. Even though she's thin, she can never shake the insecurity she developed during childhood, learning she was bigger than other girls.
"Nonsense!"
"How strange.." Sebastian whispers, "For your fiancé and cousin to be here, it is quite unexpected."
"Regardless of the disguise, if we meet.."
"You'll be found out."
Ciel's face fills with panic at their words, "If he discovers me, I won't be able to investigate!"
"Further, everyone here will find out that the young lady is you," Sebastian replies with a monotonous tone.
Sheer dread overcomes the Phantomhive, "If people find out I'm dressed like this, it'll be the ultimate humiliation for the Phantomhive family!" Ciel tries to hold his voice back from a shout, "If it comes to that, I'd rather die! Anyway, we cannot.." he trails off.
"Viscount Druitt is so handsome tonight!"
"His light golden hair is like gold thread!"
Viscount Druitt stands confidently a few meters away, conversing with guests. To no one's surprise, women speak of his looks from any corner of the room.
Reluctantly approaching the man, Ciel tries to keep his composure and act as he would a lady. As in copying how he sees Leah act. Unluckily for Ciel, he's barely able to get a word into the Viscount before the dreadful voice of Elizabeth emerges from behind him.
"Ah! Found you!" Elizabeth calls out, starting to approach excitedly.
Barely an inch behind her, Leah is tugging on the girl's arm and trying to pull her away, "Stop chasing people! Can't we get a snack or something?" she huffs.
Cursing under his breath, Ciel is quick to dart off and away from the pair, "I was so close too!"
"The girl in front! Please wait!" Begs Elizabeth, nearly unaffected by Leah's attempts to drag her back.
It's an annoying game of cat and mouse, with an extra player to intervene. Ahead of the girls, Sebastian leads Ciel through the people. But not far behind them, Leah rolls her eyes at Elizabeth who never seems to know when to give up.
Hand in the air, Sebastian waves over a butler, "Gentleman, please give a glass of lemonade to those ladies." he says while whisking Ciel away, pointing in the direction of the young Earl's fiancé and cousin.
Elizabeth holds initial confusion at the sudden offer of lemonade but Leah appears more than pleased, giving her a chance to catch her breath after the brisk walking to keep up with the blonde. Holding the glass between her gloved fingers, the Barrett girl hides her unstable breathing to take large gulps of the liquid while Elizabeth merrily chats away to more women around them.
Unfortunately for Leah, her break is short-lived when Edward quickly approaches her from behind. Gently grazing a hand past her shoulder, the older boy smiles widely, "May I have this dance?" he asks.
Fighting back a startled gasp when Edward suddenly appears behind her, Leah gives a lopsided, but soft smile, "You may."
Walking towards the dance floor, Leah gives one last look in Elizabeth's direction as they leave her behind, only praying she doesn't cause the unidentified lady any more trouble. But while distracted by her friend, she hardly notices that she brushes past Ciel who stands tightly next to Sebastian.
Guiding Leah to the dance floor, Edward takes her right hand in his left and places his free hand around her waist, leading the two of them in the dance. The dance is a classic waltz, one of the first dances that many learn. Following the music, their steps move in sync and Leah's dress skirt flows with her movements, her unlowered hems freely brushing across her ankles and calves.
"I'm glad I caught you in time. I thought you'd spend your entire evening chasing after Elizabeth," Edward chuckles, twirling the shorter girl in his arms.
Keeping her eyes trained on his, Leah smiles. "I was preparing to. Balls are a lot less fun than I thought they would be.." she complains.
The brunette's words earn a chuckle from Edward, both of whom barely notice Ciel and Sebastian just a few feet away from them. Somehow Elizabeth doesn't either, fixated on her cousin in the pretty dress yet is incapable of recognizing him. That could be explained by Ciel ducking his face out of their view whenever he can.
When the song ends and everyone returns to their original states, Leah lets go of Edward and returns to Elizabeth's side, brushing her shoulder past Ciel's and muttering a quick apology. Approaching her smaller friend, Leah's brows knit together when she realizes she is just staring off into the distance. Or more so, a particular boy in pink.
"Elizabeth?" Leah calls out, lowering her head to come between the blonde and the form her eyes are fixated on.
Blinking in surprise, Elizabeth looks up to meet the blue eyes that bore into her green ones, "Oh, Leah! How was the dance with Edward?" she asks.
"It was alright.." Leah shrugs, "What are you looking at?"
"The girl in that beautiful dress! I still haven't gotten to talk to her.." Elizabeth leans to look past Leah's shoulders, "But here's my chance!" The blonde announces, setting off with a pep to her step.
Leah sighs in irritation as Elizabeth begins to approach Ciel, currently in an uncomfortable conversation with Viscount Druitt. 'That girl never knows when to give up.'
Ciel himself is practically shaking in his shoes, knowing of the two familiar figures who are quickly closing the distance. In a quick matter of luck — aka, Sebastian — Ciel's initial worry of his life being over is somewhat reassured in a matter of seconds. Watching the butler wearing a masquerade mask slam down a cupboard between Ciel, Leah, and Elizabeth, he hides his surprise at the demon's sudden plan.
"The ball is at its peak, so at this time, may all the gentlemen and ladies watch this magic performance I shall do with this cupboard!" Sebastian announces. "That gentleman," he shifts his attention to Lau, "Can you assist me?"
Lau's signature smirk paints his face, "Me? Why of course."
Leah and Elizabeth both watch in amusement and wonder, eyes sparking with sudden interest.
"This is an ordinary cupboard. I will now enter it."
With the rest of the guests enamored by Sebastian's display, no one notices Viscount Druitt and Ciel sneaking off away from the party.
"After I go into the cupboard, tie it up tightly with these chains," Sebastian explains to Lau, handing the chains over to him. "And then these swords will be used to pierce this cupboard."
Drowning out the last of the explanation, Leah finally racks her brain to recognize a familiar face. "Is that Lau?" She questions, furrowing her brows before looking to her left to see Madame Red. 'I suppose Ciel didn't come after all?'
As much as the Barrett enjoys being in her thoughts, the train is quickly interrupted when she is brought back to hear Lau make exaggerated noises while impaling the box with Sebastian inside. The guests all look with utter shock and worry at multiple swords stabbed into the cupboard, a smiling Lau to accompany it.
"He suddenly went from the top?!"
"He really did it without restraint!"
Lau, who seems entirely proud of his work, sparkles, "Alright, let's see if he's alright?" he suggests.
Taking the swords out of the cupboard and undoing the chains, the door to the cupboard ominously begins to swing open. Everyone watches in silent worry before bursting into shouts of surprise when Sebastian steps out completely unscathed.
"Impressive!"
"A miracle!"
"Wow!"
"Bravo!"
The room is filled with sounds of applause, replacing the previous silence that could be cut by a knife. Stepping away from Elizabeth, Leah slowly walks over to Lau and Sebastian who she can now see.
Clapping cheerily, Madame Red has the smile of a happy child, "That was quite impressive, Sebastian!"
"Sebastian? If everyone else is here, then where is Ciel?" Leah questions, tilting her head.
"You can never be too surprised with that boy! I'm sure you're glad to be here though? How was your first ball?" Angelina gives a smile to the young Barrett.
"Well it's not my first.. but honestly. Never again." Leah sighs. All the attention she received, even without having to interact with anyone, was enough for her. Then following such a hyper Elizabeth around all night? The brunette is more than glad her mother chose to not debut her this season.

"What's the meaning of this?!" Ciel shouts, slamming down the latest newspaper. "The Viscount didn't go anywhere last night!"
It is another day in Ciel's townhouse, but not a particularly welcome one with the latest news. Around the room, the aristocrats are stationed in different spots of the room, holding the newspapers to observe the headlines displayed in bold words.
"If the suspect could not carry out the murders.. it's an impersonator.. no, it's possible there were others from the beginning." Lau speaks, standing in front of a bookcase.
Madame Red furrows her brows, "Meaning the Viscount isn't involved?" she asks.
"I have to come up with something again.." Ciel sighs. "We have to narrow it down. Sebastian, organize the list." The blue-haired teen demands.
Sebastian places a hand on his chest, "Your humble servant understands."
Later that same night, thunder and lightning crash around the townhouse. Leah and Madame Red sit around a small table, Ciel in his lounge chair a slight distance away. The trio are all wearing their sleep attire, paired with simple robes wrapped around themselves.
"There are four and a half million people in London alone. During the season party period, there's be even more." Ciel groans, smacking the papers on his left with the back of his hand. "If we relax the requirements, the pool of people increases even more."
"You're still working?" Leah questions, tilting her head to which her untied hair follows.
"Leah. Madame Red."
"Sometimes you don't need to work so hard." Madame Red smiles, holding up a box with the design of a chess board on the front. "Want to relax a bit and play this?" she asks.
"International chess, huh? It brings back memories.." Ciel says.
"Is that so? Because Sebastian was coming, I got this out from the attic!" Madame Red muses. "Come! Take a break! Take a break!" Angelina chants, pushing some papers off of the table.
"Grell, please prepare some tea!"
"It's already late so I've prepared herb tea made from wild roses," Grell explains, placing a cup in front of each aristocrat before pouring them a cup.
Hesitantly picking up her porcelain, Leah sniffs at the liquid before bringing the cup to her cherry-tinted lips. Taking a small sip, she recoils in her chair at the salty taste, spitting it back into the cup and placing it back on its plate.
"That's repulsive.." Leah sighs, leaning back in her seat.
"This tastes bad!" Madame Red shouts, "Why is herbal tea salty?! And you call yourself a butler?! Do it again!" she demands.
Grell shakes in her shoes, looking at her master, "Even so, I'm still a butler!" she tries not to raise her voice in response.
The red-haired woman lets out a breath of irritation, not bothering to listen to Grell's continuous apologies. Turning in her seat to observe the butler clad in black, she leans a head on her hand, "That butler of yours, whether he's capable or just a workaholic.. that's not much?" she questions.
"This is nothing," Ciel states in response.
"Since he's so capable, you should just make him do the investigation on the Viscount instead." Madame Red suggests.
"That is my 'power' and 'hands and legs'." Ciel holds up a horse piece, "Sebastian is merely one of my chess pieces. It is not possible to move the chess pieces without me, the person behind it. If I won using a free moving piece, that would not be to my credit." Ciel says.
Placing his horse piece on the board, he snatched up one of Angelina's pieces. Madame Red seems to be slightly surprised that her nephew has managed to snag another, trying to think of a new strategy.
"The one who gives the order will always be the master. Without my command, he will—"
Poor Leah has begun to tune out the conversation, eyes flickering closed out of utter boredom. The sound of the rain doesn't make her feel any better, slowly lulling the teenager to sleep in her seat.
Minutes pass before anyone has noticed Leah fell asleep. The first to notice was Madame Red, checking on the girl in her odd silence after she made her turn on the board.
"She fell asleep?" Angelina questions, which prompts Anna to walk over.
Glancing down at the chair, the maid sighs as she observes the sleeping brunette. Hair slightly sprawled across her face, parted lips, and faint breathing is displayed, all while sitting in an uncomfortable position.
"I will have her moved," Anna bows, "Please enjoy the rest of your night."
Before Anna has to chance to attempt to lift her mistress out of the chair, Sebastian places his papers down to walk over, "Allow me." he leans down to pick up the young Barrett.
"My, she's lighter than I thought she would be.." Sebastian says in surprise, fighting the urge to begin throwing her around from how little effort it would take.
Anna glances up at the butler, "Yes, she has a habit of not eating. It's been more noticeable over the years." she says, now walking with Sebastian toward Leah's designated room in the townhouse.
Most of the walk is silent, a silence that can't seem to decide if it's a comfortable one or not. Anna's dull personality makes it hard for her to entertain conversation, rather than choosing to focus on getting Leah in bed. Thankfully the townhouse isn't as big as a mansion, making it easy to reach the room.
Moving ahead of Sebastian carrying the young lady in his arms, Anna opens the door for him and stands to the side as he shuffles inside. Adjusting the girl in his arms, Sebastian pulls back the blankets and lays her beneath, turning back to Anna.
"Goodnight.." Sebastian smiles, walking out the door.
Approaching the sleeping Leah, Anna hardly pays Sebastian any mind as she prepares her mistress's items for tomorrow. "Goodnight."
— ౨ৎ —
It's only a matter of months before a multitude of people are gathered in a chapel to attend the unexpected funeral of Madame Red, the air filled with sadness and tears. Leah stands close to the coffin, observing Angelina who now lacks color with a blank look.
However, underneath her tough exterior, the girl is fighting back the tears that threaten to spill from her eyes. "I feel like you understood me in a way.. Even if we didn't speak much." her voice wavers, swallowing the lump in her throat.
Just as Leah lays the flower in her hand beside Angelina's head, the doors to the chapel swing open, prompting everyone to look back. Ciel stands front and center, Sebastian behind him to the side holding a hat to his abdomen with a solemn look.
"Ciel..!" Elizabeth exclaims, standing a few feet away from the coffin herself.
Releasing a breath through her nose, his fiancé watches as he walks closer with a crimson dress slung over his shoulder, "I knew you'd show up eventually." she gives a sad smile.
Leah steps back from the coffin, giving Ciel space to say goodbye to his aunt. Watching as the Phantomhive sits atop the podium holding the coffin up, she watches warily when Ciel swings the dress on his aunt and gently touches her face.
"You know white flowers and subdued clothes do not suit you. What suits you is passionate red. The color of licorice burning in the Earth." Ciel leans down to place his face closer to Angelina's, "Aunt Ann."
Just as Ciel finishes speaking, red flower petals begin to flood into the chapel. Everyone looks up and around in surprise, gasps filling the room while Sebastian stands outside with a carriage full of petals. Aiming her head up, a couple fall on Leah's head and face, causing her to release a small giggle.
Pulling away from his aunt's body, Ciel gives her one last look, "Good night, Madame Red."
Leah, Ciel, Sebastian, Lau, and Anna all stand by Angelina's grave. The young Barrett stares down at the touched dirt, solemnly holding her hands together to give silent remorse. Beside her, Anna keeps a hand on Leah's shoulder in comfort but makes no further moves.
"You did not inform the Queen of Jack the Ripper's true identity?" Lau asks.
"I did not think it necessary." Ciel replies, staring at the headstone, "After all, Jack the Ripper is no longer in London."
Looking up in confusion, Leah turns to Ciel with knitted brows, "Who was Jack the Ripper?" she questions.
Meeting his fiancé's eyes, Ciel feels the sorrow pouring from them. Unable to break the truth, he decides to leave her in ignorant bliss. At least for the time being.
"Do not worry about it.."

One Hell of a Love (Book 1) Chapter Six
Sebastian Michaelis x Demon! Reader
Chapter Six: One Hell of a Ripper
Summary: Jack the Ripper's identity is revealed, and a battle of supernatural beings begins.
“How is it?” said Ciel, sitting on his bed in his nightshirt as (Y/N) and Sebastian reread the case papers.
“No matter how many times we reexamine it, the answer remains the same,” said Sebastian.
“The Viscount couldn’t have been involved in yesterday’s case,” said (Y/N). “It would have been impossible for him or anyone in his household.”
Sebastian nodded. “Of those with proficiency in the medical arts, connections to black magic or cults, and who lack an alibi at the time of the incidents, Viscount Druitt is the only one who fits the profile. But it would be impossible for him to have committed the last murder.”
“Does that mean the investigation was just a farce, then?” said Ciel angrily.
Sebastian smiled impishly. “I am one hell of a butler, so I am faithful only to that which my master has ordered and asked of me.” He threw the papers up in the air. “Under one of your orders, I am to be your pawn and your sword. So, please, Young Master, move me into check.”
“What lead do you have?” snapped Ciel.
(Y/N) grinned, sharp canines flashing. “We have a link between victims.”
“And we know who will be next,” said Sebastian.
l
“He’ll come if we hang out here, won’t he?” questioned Ciel, dressed in a pauper’s clothes. They stood at a street corner under the cover of darkness, awaiting their murderer’s arrival.
“Yes,” said Sebastian, a long coat on to disguise his butler’s suit.
“It is true that among the prostitutes that were killed, there were other similarities apart from their organs having been removed,” said Ciel.
(Y/N) nodded, wearing just a plain black dress instead of a maid’s uniform.
“Beautiful, shimmering black hair,” said Sebastian.
“But why did he need to kill them?” murmured Ciel.
“That allure which could even be called sinful,” said Sebastian.
            “And I—”
“That wonderful softness,” sighed Sebastian. “Ah, that wonderful softness.”
“Listen when someone is talking to you!” shouted Ciel, glaring at Sebastian as he cuddled one of the street cats that had flocked to (Y/N).
“I apologize.” Sebastian held the black cat close. “I was simply so taken with its rare beauty that…soft.”
(Y/N) crouched by Sebastian and scratched under the cat’s chin, smiling at it. The cat purred and relaxed in Sebastian’s arms as (Y/N) pet it.
“You still like cats,” said (Y/N) as the cat pressed its forehead into their arm.
“Yes,” said Sebastian, looking at them.
(Y/N) blinked, and they paused in petting the cat. Before they could say anything, a scream pierced the air. The cat bolted away, and Sebastian and (Y/N) stood.
“There shouldn’t have been any way for someone to go through!” said Ciel.
“Let us go,” said Sebastian, and the three rounding the corner to the dead-end street.
Ciel threw open the door of the house at the end, and a fleck of blood hit his cheek as his eyes widened. Sebastian put a hand over his eyes and pulled him back as the moonlight illuminated the torn apart body of the prostitute within.
Sebastian smirked as a figure emerged from the house, hand still over Ciel’s eyes. (Y/N) cocked their head, ready for a fight. “You’ve splattered it about in a rather lavish way, have you not, Jack the Ripper?” remarked Sebastian. “No. Grell Sutcliffe.”
Grell, glasses and clothes covered in blood, stammered, “N-no, this isn’t…I rushed here after the scream, and it was already too…”
“Do you really think you can act innocent looking like that, Grell? Death follows you like a cloud,” said (Y/N), eyes flashing.
“This is the first time we’ve met someone like you in the human world,” said Sebastian.
“You played your part splendidly,” said (Y/N). “But we know what you are.”
“ ‘Splendidly…’ ” repeated Grell. A grin split his features, and his teeth were sharp as knives. “Really?” He pulled the bow from his hair. “I’m an actress.” She removed her glasses. “Quite an exceptional one at that.” She pulled a comb through her brown hair, and it turned a vibrant red. “But you aren’t just a normal Sebastian or (Y/N), either, are you?” She removed her contacts to reveal green and yellow fluorescent eyes and placed on false eyelashes.
“It’s the name I was given by the Young Master, so I am Sebastian. For now,” said Sebastian.
“I’ve grown fond of the name ‘(Y/N),’ ” said his demon counterpart.
“My, that’s quite the subservient personality you have, Sebastian,” said Grell, putting on red glasses. “However, I suppose that’s also splendid in a handsome man such as yourself. And (Y/N)…such independence! Lovely for a person such as yourself. Well, then, Sebastian, (Y/N) —No…Bassy and (Nickname)! I will introduce myself anew! I am the Barnett family butler Grell Sutcliffe. As a fellow servant, please treat me kindly.” She blew a kiss to (Y/N) and Sebastian.
The demons bristled in awkward disgust. They were not expecting this from a supernatural being, that was for sure.
“My, I finally get to meat you without a disguise,” sighed Grell. “I was quite surprised to begin with as it was the first time I’d seen a demon act as a maid or butler, let alone two demons work together.”
“I think that’s our line,” said (Y/N), putting a hand on their hip. “We perform any job required of us. Your kind…You’re supposed to act as a neutral being between gods and humans. But here you are, acting as a butler. Strange job for a grim reaper.”
“Indeed. Shall we say for now that I fell in love with a woman?” said Grell with a smile.
Ciel tensed in Sebastian’s arms. “And that woman is?” asked Sebastian gravely.
“You know that without even asking, don’t you?” said a new voice.
Ciel pushed Sebastian’s hand away from his eyes as all three watched Madame Red step out from within the house.
            “Madame,” greeted Sebastian.
“This was beyond my expectations,” said Madame Red. “To think that there would be people able to see Grell’s true nature…”
“You were on the preliminary suspect list, of course, Madame Red,” said Ciel. “However, your alibi was perfect.”
“You even suspected me? Your own aunt?” Madame Red’s eyes softened slightly.
“If the individual was capable of becoming ‘Jack,’ blood relations had no bearing,” declared Ciel. “It was impossible for any human on that list to be involved in all the incidents. However, if the accomplice were inhuman, then that would change everything. If they were able to get into a room within a split second without us noticing and move from the Viscount’s home to the East End in an instant, then ‘Jack the Ripper’ could be none other than Madame Red and Grell Sutcliffe.
“Among the victims of Jack the Ripper, there were other connecting factors,” continued Ciel. “They all underwent specific surgery at the Central London hospital where you work. Among the list of patients we compiled, the only one who had not been killed was the one living in that room, Mary Kelly. We knew that if we loitered around, you’d be sure to show up. Though we could not save her…”
“This is so unfortunate, Ciel, my adorable nephew,” sighed Madame Red. “If you hadn’t noticed, we would have been able to play chess again. However…this time, I won’t give anything up!”
A roar echoed through the alley as Grell revealed a strange metallic weapon that spun a blade. She slammed it down at Ciel’s head. Sebastian was between them in a moment and grabbed the metal slab the blades spun around, bracing against the attack. (Y/N) kicked Grell and sent her backwards before she could get closer.
            “What is that?” questioned Ciel.
“Reapers have a tool they use to prey on people’s soul,” said Sebastian. “It is a Death Scythe.”
“Don’t give it a lame name! I took so much trouble to customize it! I call it a ‘chainsaw!’ ” said Grell excitedly. She smiled darkly. “It’s able to shred any substance that stands in its way. Only I am permitted this Death Scythe.” She pouted. “I was playing nice for so long that my skills have grown rusty. It’s been a while, so I want a good workout! Wi-th yo-u tw-o!” She blew a kiss at the demons.
“No, thank you,” said (Y/N), nose twitching in annoyance.
Sebastian’s eye twitched. “Can you refrain from making such repulsive comments?”
“Ah, how stoic!” squealed Grell. “You two really put me over the edge!” She sighed dramatically. “You know, I love the color red. Hair, clothes, even lipstick. Red is my favorite color. That’s why I gave those ugly tramps a makeover with their beautiful red blood. Sebastian, I’ll make you into an even more appealing man. I will carve you down to your inner depths, scattering that beautiful rose-color everything.” She winked.
“And darling (Nickname)!” Grell sighed dramatically. “I so wished to have seen you in a red gown at the ball! You were absolutely delicious in black, but I would kill to see you in red!” She grinned and winked at (Y/N). “And I suppose I will!”
            (Y/N) furrowed their brow. “I’m—”
An irk mark appeared on Sebastian as Grell shamelessly (and strangely) flirted at (Y/N), and he interrupted, “Reapers are those who should peacefully hunt down souls heading for death.” He took off his coat and draped it around Ciel. “Butlers are those who should obey their masters like loyal shadows. Your poor taste, which violates both of those ideals, quite simply sickens me.” His gaze darkened.
Grell grinned. “Oh, my, Bassy! Even so, I am a deadly efficient butler!” She posed dramatically.
All supernatural beings have one thing in common—dramatics, thought (Y/N). They smirked. But that just means I get to have some fun.
“On behalf of Her Majesty and by my own sullied name, I order you,” said Ciel, pulling his eyepatch off to display his contract mark, “Dispose of them!”
Sebastian’s eyes flashed fuchsia. “Yes, my Lord.”
            “With pleasure,” said (Y/N), smirking.
“Ah, splendid!” Grell jumped forward and swung her Death Scythe at them. The two demons dodged back as she attacked. “Yes! Flee more! This is terrific, Bassy, (Nickname)!”
Sebastian and (Y/N) dodged to the side as Grell swung at the wall, and Sebastian landed, but in a moment, Grell was behind him and swung down again. The slash forced his back into the wall as he grabbed the chainsaw to fight it back.
“See? If you don’t run fast, you’ll be shred—!” Grell yelped as (Y/N) kicked her away from Sebastian.
Grell pivoted and slashed at (Y/N), who ducked away. Grell stood between Sebastian and (Y/N) and Ciel and Madame Red. Behind her, Madame Red slashed a dagger at Ciel, who jerked back as his arm began bleeding. She had him pinned against the wall with her hand around her neck.
“You should have never been born!” cried Madame Red, raising her arm to stab down.
            “Young Master!” shouted Sebastian.
He moved instantly, and Grell swung at him. He didn’t stop as the chainsaw ripped through his shoulder and blood flew through the air. Sebastian was behind Madame Red in a moment, ready to rip her to pieces while (Y/N) moved to engage Grell so she couldn’t go after Sebastian. Their eyes trailed to Sebastian’s injury in worry for a moment, but they focused enough to grab Grell’s chainsaw before she shredded (Y/N) as well.
“Stop, Sebastian, don’t kill her!” cried Ciel.
Sebastian’s hand stopped a few inches from Madame Red’s head. The dagger fell from her hand as she stumbled back.
“Sebastian…” said (Y/N) as they saw him pant and hold his injured shoulder.
“My, Bassy, you’re so daring!” chirped Grell even as she pressed his chainsaw down towards (Y/N). “Even at the cost of an arm, you went to save that kid. And (Nickname), darling, oh my! Your determination to keep me from both is so admirable! Such fire!” Grell forced the chainsaw closer, and (Y/N) pushed back, rolling to the side to avoid the blades, even as it tears at their skirts. “Look at yourself in comparison, Madame. Hurry up and get rid of that kid!”
Madame Red covered her face, crying. She gazed at Ciel mournfully. “My beloved sister…My beloved…Their beloved little…I can’t. I just can’t. I can’t kill this child.”
“What are you saying after having cut up all those women?” questioned Grell. “If you don’t get rid of that kid, you’ll be the one who’s disposed of.”
“But this child is my—!”  Madame Red coughed as the chainsaw burst through her chest.
Ciel, Sebastian, and (Y/N)’s eyes widened. They hadn’t expected the betrayal.
“I am so disappointed, Madame Red,” said Grell. Madame Red coughed up blood as she fell back. “I have no interest in you if you’re just like all the other women!”
As Madame Red fell to the ground, her memories began to pour out of her body in strips. A faint memory appeared in (Y/N)’s mind.
            “This is…” they said.
“The memories played back to be judged on the list of those who are scheduled to die by a higher power,” said Grell. “That is the job of us Reapers. What kind of human they were, what sort of life they led…”
“In other words, a flashback of their life?” said Sebastian.
“My, do stop it with all those horrible, old-fashioned names,” said Grell. “The Cinematic Record. This is the true power of the Reaper.”
The memories of Madame Red swirled around the group. They saw her grow up to love the former Earl Phantomhive and mourn his choice in his sister. They watched her marry a man and become pregnant. They saw her life crash to pieces once more in a carriage accident that lost Madame Red her husband and child. They watched Madame Red lose her sister and her sister’s family to flames. Madame Red lost her mind to grief over her own lost child as prostitutes requested abortions from her. Madame Red become Jack the Ripper to punish people in the same way she had been—with death and loss and pain and that deep red that stains all it touches.
Grell sighed as the memories finished. “I loved you covered in the blood of others, Madame Red.” She ripped off her grey coat and let it fly away. “To think you were such a ridiculous woman! I’m so disappointed. You have no right to wear red.” Grell pulled Madame Red’s scarlet coat off and pulled it on herself. “The cheap show is now over. Goodbye, Madame.” Grell sighed and turned away, clad in red.
Ciel reached out and closed Madame Red’s empty eyes. “Sebastian, what are you doing? I told you to hunt down Jack the Ripper. It’s not over yet. Don’t stand around. Get rid of Grell.”
Sebastian looked at Ciel in surprise before smirking. “Understood.” He turned to (Y/N). “Join me for some fun?”
            (Y/N) grinned. “Why not?”
“I was going to spare you, but if it’s your wish, I’ll send you there, too,” said Grell. She turned on (Y/N) and Sebastian with her chainsaw roaring. “Both of you will go to Heaven together!”
Sebastian ducked, and (Y/N) flipped up. “Heaven?” chuckled Sebastian as he dodged behind Grell. “That has no hold over us.”
“I’m afraid we come from quite the opposite place,” said (Y/N), grinning as their eyes flashed fuchsia.
(Y/N) leapt at Grell from below, and Sebastian kicked at her from above. The reaper barely dodged and glared at the demons.
“You just aimed for a lady’s face, didn’t you?!” she cried.
“I am one hell of a butler,” said Sebastian, smirking.
“You’re the one who wants a real fight,” said (Y/N).
Grell scoffed and smirked. “Do you really think a demon can win against someone who is like unto God?”
“If the Young Master has told me to win, then I shall win,” said Sebastian.
“I love a good challenge. Sebastian can tell you I love nothing more than proving just how good at my job I am,” said (Y/N), smiling.
“Even if you are demons, if you get destroyed by a Death Scythe, you’ll be well and truly gone, you know?” remarked Grell. “Aren’t you scared?”
“Scared?” (Y/N) smirked. “Grell, I’ve been to Hell and back. What is there to be scared of from you?”
Sebastian grinned darkly beside them. He supposed there were some reasons to be attached to them.

The Phantomhive Butler
Word count: 1.7k
Author’s note: Please bear with me. English is not my native language, so I apologize in advance for any grammar and/or spelling mistakes. The main love interest has a name, but I try not to be too descriptive. I hope you enjoy. Thank you!
Pairing: Sebastian Michaelis x reader
Tumblr media
With any encounter with a demon, one must be on edge. Demons are sneaky creatures, manipulative, dangerous, untrustworthy, and much more. Charlotte remained cautious until she formed a contract.
Charlotte encountered the demon when Ciel started working on the Jack the Ripper case. They were never that close. Even with his return from his kidnappers, he was distant with her. His behavior led her to become distant. So, it was shocking when she received a letter from Madam Red requesting she join her to surprise Ciel and help him with his case. She hesitated at first, but she caved in. He was family, after all. Besides, Auntie would still have ways to convince her to help.
When she arrived at Ciel’s London Townhouse, she was taken aback by an unfamiliar figure. It's a new butler. Though staff members come and go, there was something different about him. On the outside, the butler was just a competent and hard-working person. He was rather kind and helpful to her and her family. However, there is an unusual and unsettling aura around him. He completed his duties with no mistakes. Not to mention, at lightning speed. He was intriguing. She must get to know him.
Sebastian Michaelis introduced himself, and thus the nightmare began.
The red flags appeared almost immediately. Ciel had everyone in the carriage and requested that Sebastian compile a list of Jack the Ripper suspects. Upon accepting his master’s request, Sebastian went to work by jumping from the carriage while it was still moving. Worried about his well-being, she looks out the window and doesn’t see him anywhere. ‘Where did he go?’, she thought to herself.
The next thing was when he returned to the townhouse with tea ready. All before everyone else came home. She looked perplexed by him. ‘He pulled out of a long list of suspects with no injuries to his body? And he has tea ready?’, she thought to herself. Even when Madam Red questioned him, Sebastian avoided answering them with a logical explanation. It was also frustrating that Auntie didn't push for answers from the butler. But she also doesn’t push for further answers since her focus is on capturing the killer and helping Ciel.
However, despite how uneasy she felt around Sebastian, she grew to have a soft spot for him. For one thing, he amuses her. It’s entertaining to see Sebastian using his wits to tease other people besides her. Especially when the victim is Ciel or his coworkers. Ciel explained his plan to infiltrate the Viscount Druitt’s mansion and arrest him. Although she volunteered to be the one to seduce the Viscount, Ciel immediately shut the idea down. The immense guilt she felt melted away once she saw Ciel’s disguise. The huge, puffy pink dress with a million frills only made it worse when Sebastian opened his mouth. She never could contain her laughter around him.
Despite her denial, her heart flutters whenever Sebastian shows physical affection. Especially during at night when she has trouble sleeping. He walked into her room to comfort her. Not to baby her like her Auntie does, not to degrade her, but to comfort her. The gentle caresses that she requested from him. She knows deep down he doesn’t care for her. But even then, it didn’t matter. As long as she has a companion at night, it won’t matter. Even if she won’t hear the end of it.
It was just a fun game for both.
Failing to capture the killer, Charlotte experienced feelings of anxiety and devastation. She couldn’t help but cling more to Madam Red to feel protected. Her warm body and reassuring and kind words always comforted her. Her Auntie was always a strong woman during difficult situations. With her clinging on to her aunt, Charlotte had to watch her least favorite sport, chess. However, after watching Ciel and Auntie play chess, she knew he was up to something and followed him (and his butler). Whether this was an excellent decision was up for debate.
It wasn’t until the Jack the Ripper case was over that she received the answers.
Madame Red. She was Jack the Ripper. She killed all those innocent women and ruined their families’ lives. It was all too much. The shocking revelation, the blood, the fight between Sebastian and Grelle. It wasn’t until she saw her auntie strangling Ciel that Charlotte knew she had to get involved. However, despite saving Ciel’s life, her auntie stabbed her. The ultimate betrayal. Before she passes out, she looks back at Ciel. A sigh of relief once she realizes he is safe and uninjured. The darkness consumed her, and she slipped into unconsciousness.
Later that night, the rain drowned out the singing of crickets that once echoed throughout the evening. Though it usually lulls her to sleep, the events of earlier in the night plagued her mind. Not to mention the pain remains to plague her. Eventually, she fell asleep, but not before she woke up screaming before quickly covering her mouth. As she catches her breath, the dream plays out in her head. The same warm blood staining her skin, the loud cries of her family members, and the revelation of her dear aunt being a serial killer. She couldn’t hold it in much longer. In the middle of her breakdown, Charlotte failed to realize someone was in her room.
“Having trouble staying asleep, my ladyship? How troublesome. Would you like me to assist you? A soothing lullaby perhaps?” Sebastian asked with the same playful voice she’s used to hearing. She glared at his question.
“Hush you. I have never asked you to do something so childish as singing me a lullaby,” Charlotte said with a slight annoyance as she wiped her tears away.
“Oh, no? I can’t quite remember. You cling to your family members like a little child. Even to my Lord, you cling tightly.” Sebastian replied with a smirk.
“Hmph. It was a moment of weakness, but that’s just it. It was one moment. Say, how did you get into my room? I didn’t hear the door open,” Charlotte said.
“Never mind that, my lady. You have trouble staying asleep, so I made you some hot chamomile tea. My lord has informed me you are quite picky, especially with tea. He told me you like your tea plain. So, I hope you enjoy your cup.”
“Ciel told you?” Charlotte stammered as she gazed at the cup. “I didn’t think he would remember something as simple as that,” she let out a small smile. “I will have to thank him for that some other time.” She hesitated before drinking her tea. “This is quite adequate. Thank you, Sebastian,” Charlotte said as she tried not to gag. Any praise Sebastian gets from her, he becomes a cheeky bastard. What an annoyance!
“However, that doesn’t answer my question, Sebastian. I knew you were watching me. The moment I started following you both, I saw your eyes on me. So, I ask again, how did you get into my room without making a sound?”
“Now, now, my lady,” Sebastian said as he tugged her hair behind her ears. It’s been like a cycle between the two. Whenever she has suspicions about Sebastian, he uses physical affection to keep her mind occupied. Such as when she questioned how he got her afternoon tea and cake ready in a blink of an eye, a soft caress of her cheek and a compliment made her forget about her question. Often, her cheeks would turn rosy, and she would respond with a shy smile. A little touch goes a long way. However,
“Stop that immediately.” Charlotte raised her voice and scooted away from Sebastian. “Enough of your affections for now. I know you and Ciel are hiding something here. You made that long list of suspects in a short amount of time. You absolute maniac, why did you jump out of the carriage? I didn’t even hear a groan from your lips. And I swear you have super strength and speed. How?” She takes a moment to take a deep breath. “You know I saw everything, Sebastian,” she starts. “That fight with Grelle was the final nail in the coffin. You’ve been suspicious since the very beginning. So admit it, Sebastian. You’re a demon, aren’t you?” she said with a scowl.
Sebastian smirked at her revelation and chuckled. “My lady, you’ve had quite an unfortunate night,” Sebastian interrupted her. “It’s best to get some rest now. I promise you will find the answers to your questions soon enough. I’m sure your auntie doesn’t want you to stress out,” he said with a light chuckle at the end. Her eyes widened. That’s right, Auntie is no longer here.
In pure rage, she lifted her hand out to slap Sebastian, only to be stopped. A tight grip was on her wrist as Sebastian’s smirk only grew.
“My lady, how cruel. Here I thought we were getting along swimmingly.” Sebastian squeezes her hand small, delicate hand as he presses his lips on her knuckles.
“Auntie.,” she mumbled, as if it were a brief prayer. As if she called out her name, Madam Red would appear. Unfortunately, that will never be the case. Instead, she faces Sebastian, the demon butler. “So you are a demon,” she mumbled again to herself. “What are your intentions with Ciel?” she raised her voice. “Are you after his soul, perhaps? Or are you…”
“I’m only going to say this once more. Rest now, dear. You have a long day ahead of you. I need to report your discovery to my master first thing in the morning. We shall see what we will do with you soon. Enjoy your night,” he whispered in her ear as he caressed her cheek. She gasps softly at his touch. Normally, she would feel his glove touching her cheek. She glanced at his hand, and her stomach dropped as she saw his mark. The Faustian contract mark.
“Good night, my lady. I hope you sleep well. I can't wait to see you in the morning,” he said before he planted a soft peck on her cheek. A goodnight kiss, a kiss goodbye to a normal life.
“Good night, Sebastian.”

@blackbutler-readerinsertsandjunk LOOK WHAT YOU MADE ME DO
This surely was a peak moment in your life, really. Whether a high or a low, that is yet to be decided. And you lean towards the low, as of now.
You prided yourself on aiding the Queen's Guardog, Your wit, smart-thinking and quick brain make for a perfect asset in some of his missions, and he's come to regard you as being dependable enough. So much so, that it is not uncommon for the young Earl to invite you for tea and a game of chess.
This time, however, it seems he was playing chess while you were within the board, playing the part of a mere pawn.
A favour, he had asked of you, and confident in yourself, you agreed. Foolish for someone who usually caught onto intentions so quick, really. Almost embarrassingly so. In retrospect, you really should have known. Could you blame him, though? By asking you to play the part as bait for his mission, he avoided being stuffed into a dress and quite the few lady-like lessons (that fell upon your shoulders instead).
And now, here you were. You, yourself, stuffed into a dress, that they made sure would compliment your eye colour, with your hair styled the way Madame Red herself ensured would bring the best attention, getting out of the carriage with Sebastian's aid, and into the party. You feel like you're walking right into a wolf's mouth, but you push forward nonetheless.
You walk around for a couple of minutes, but it hardly takes you long to find the Viscount. Lord Phantomhive warned you, he told you you might be taken away today, but that they would be close on your trail just in case, and perhaps that had you feeling a little too comfortable when you saw the blonde man approach.
You have to admit, you understand why women fawn over him so. He is attractive, symmetrical features, long soft hair, a sharp jawline, smooth-looking skin and deep, lavender eyes with long lashes.
You put on your best smile.
"Ah...I'm terribly sorry, sir" you start off, taking a small, minuscule step back. You play with your hands for a moment in feigned innocence, trying to act as flustered as you can bring yourself to "I didn't mean to bump into you..." Your eyes scan over him discreetly. If his own eyes and their incessant travelling over your body are anything to go by, so far you've got his attention.
And his attention you had. How absolutely delightful. A beautiful little bird, fluttering about the world, so naively, such easy prey for any predators out there that it almost made someone want to put them in a cage, still able to flutter around and be admired, but safe from the dangers of the world. Beauty was pain, for it left so soon, oftentimes because it was taken away by greedy leeches, sucking it away from the world. It almost made one sick to their stomach to think about... Still, there were little lights in the dark. Special kinds of beauty, rare ones, like gems within a rock beach.
You sure looked and acted the part.
"Please-" his voice is smooth, and almost pleasantly warm, like melting butter, easy on the ears. Melodic even, as it rings at such a private volume it makes you have to lean in a bit, bringing about an almost exclusive moment amongst all this people, like you are sharing some kind of secret "- don't apologize, little robin. I should have looked where I was going. I trust you weren't hurt?" His expression seems nearly grim at the thought, and you almost forget you're on a mission as it sets free a nest of butterflies in your stomach. You hold your breath for a moment, and just gently shake your head. He smiles, and this time you think you really might forget why you were here in the first place.
"I'm glad" he speaks up again "It would be such a shame to have any harm come to a beautiful hummingbird..." He looks around for just a couple of moments, like looking away from you bothers him, and his eyes land on you once more quicker than you anticipated "Oh my...are you all alone here? That just won't do...why don't you join me?" He holds his hand out, and you become aware of the mission once again. This is it. The plan has been set in motion. There's no doubt now that he's seizing you up as possible next victim. You take his hand you almost despise the way your body sends an involuntary shiver throughout you. His hand is bigger than yours, yet remains delicate. The hold is firm, but soft. "Allow me to get you a drink, and you can tell me about yourself, yes?" His voice interrupts your thoughts, it's sweeter this time, more alluring, like honey, with this undertone on it you can't put your finger to is it a hint of desperation, or do you just wish it would be?
You comply, accompany him to his seat, and chat for a while as he offers you a glass. The conversation is entertaining, and his smile never falters, however, you start to get uneasy after a while, and it's not because of his eyes trailing your figure or resting on your lips and hands a little too long every now and again. It's more about what he's not doing...you're still here. He didn't put anything in the drink, didn't try to take you to another room. You stay seated, you haven't been bait before, and you just figure patience is of the essence- "I'd be honoured if you allowed me to take you away for a moment, somewhere nice. Just you and me, dear songbird" Ah, there it was. You nod your head, and give your most naive smile, following after him.
You'll be fine, you think, the young Earl and his very capable butler are hot on your trail.
Then, the Viscount takes you out the front door, and to a carriage...Well, unexpected, but you aren't sure about his modus operandi, so you go along. It's a slow ride, but the destination stop arrives quicker than you expected. It's a sort of forest, in it, a clearing with a gazebo. A nice spot, for sure...but far away from the party and all its people...far away from everything, in fact. Regardless, he offers his hand to help you down, and you take it. He doesn't let go as he leads you towards the gazebo, and he doesn't let go when he sits down with you. He doesn't let go.
His free hand cups your cheek, and you focus on remaining as bait, for as long as you can, until you have any kind of lead, anything, no matter how hard your heart is hammering, and no matter if you can't tell whether it's adrenaline or something deeper, and perhaps more carnal.
"You're so very sweet my songbird...I had to bring you here, a place deserving of your presence, without all of that noise...My little songbird, you mentioned having no suitors...I hoped my ears were deceiving me, in a way. To think that no one has been able to appreciate such a masterpiece before...it pains me deeply. Even then, I find myself rejoicing at the thought..." The hand on your cheek slowly moves down, nuzzling down your neck for just a fleeting moment, leaving you aching for the touch again, in a way, and he takes both your hands this time "My little songbird...be my betrothed" You almost choke on your breath, suddenly the aim of the mission hits you like a train and your chest tightens uncomfortably. You splutter and stutter through your words, dumbfounded, thrown off your game scarily quickly "...I...I beg your pardon, My Lord, I am sure I misunderstood you, please come again...?" You ask slowly, voice a mixture between hopeful and shaken "My little songbird..." His grip on your hands tightens. It's not painful, but it's a tense reminder that you're still being held in place "You captured my heart the moment you came in...what is it you desire? Money? Travels? Wonders shown before your very eyes? I can give you all you could wish for, if only you'd be mine."
Damnit. You work too well.
"...My Lord, I...I don't know what to-" His voice cuts through quickly, like he is trying to crush any counter arguments with it alone " Please, my little songbird...if you don't........I really wouldn't want to have to take drastic measures..." You gulp slowly, but you choose to push through. This is a change of plans, but it may guarantee that kidnapping. That's what you came here to do in the first place, is it not? This is surely just some twisted trick to get you to fall victim to his business. It will be fine. Sebastian said he can track down the gas they believe he uses to knock out the victims at his home. It will be fine.
You shake your head "My Lord, you flatter me, but we just met..." His grip tightens further "Darling please just say yes..." It comes out in a whisper, so gentle that it throws you for a loop when paired up with his expression and his hold on your hands "Please say yes" he repeats again "I would hate to have to get...upset" His voice almost drops, for a moment, and you try to remind yourself that it's going to be fine, and that this is the outcome you've been looking for, being a victim to his business, so you shake your head once more "I'm really sorry, Lord Chamber, but I can't accept your offer just like that..." His eye almost twitches, but his smile seems unfaltering. It's eerie, almost. One of his hands leaves yours, and you untense. If only you had seen it reaching into his pocket slowly .
"Little songbird...one last time...please reconsider. You're making a mistake right now" His voice has definitely lowered this time, and you have to gulp a knot on your throat. You dread to even think for a moment that the knot may not only be there out of fear
You shake your head one final time, attempting to free your hand "I apologize, but I couldn't possibly marry you after knowing you for just a few hours-"
The movement is too quick for you to register. He pulls you close by the hand, into his chest, and a cloth is pressed against your mouth and nose. A strong, chemically sweet smell hits you, and your whole body grows heavy, your eyelids falling closed moments later.
By the time you wake up, you find yourself carefully tucked in, in satin and silk sheets, and with soft pillows. But the moment you look around, there's metal bars. Golden ones, and you are inside a cage...and this is not an auction. It's a manor room.
"Hello my beautiful songbird...I'm glad you're awake again! Welcome home...don't fret, I'll take good care of you...you'll be let around the manor soon, when I am sure you won't fly away" His smile is wide, and cheery, and so alluring that it's unnerving. His voice is honey-like and dripping with such delight that something within you flips in the best way and it almost angers you.
After the night falls, and the Earl and his very capable butler don't show up, you think back to their claim of being able to track down the gas used in the rooms and how they were paying close attention in case you were taken to one within the party... You start to lose hope that they will be able to come for you...
But when Aleister steps into the cage, arms encasing you against his chest in an almost desperate passion, and his lips slowly ghost over your skin until they finally meet yours with a fervor you have never experienced before... You are no longer sure you mind that anymore.

..................................................................................
anxiety filled the bodies of everyone on the boat as they waited on the deck for the boats to be loaded. the dead roamed the halls of the cruise ship, but the halls were not where the action was; the main hall was.
“may i kill him now, my lord?” sebastian asked monotonously.
not yet, though i understand the urge,” ciel responded, mirroring his butler’s tone. as if on cue, the dead that had been re-animated crashed through the glass doors, groaning as they filled the main hall. “viscount druitt, activate it!” he demanded from his place in sebastian’s arms.
“non, I am no longer to be addressed as viscount. I am caesar, call me that and I shall consider activating it,” the blonde-haired man said.
“on second thought, let’s kill him now,” ciel snapped, glaring at the man below them.
“we should wait, my lord, though i understand the urge,” sebastian answered immediately before jumping into combat against the mindless corpses. the sound of revving engines echoed through the hall as grell and ronald got to work on their own mob of corpses. unfortunately, it was not enough to drown out the sound of viscount druitt’s dramatic narration.
ronald yelled in frustration, “can we please, please, kill him now?!”
“you’re the one who just stopped me from doing it!” grell retorted, just as frustrated as their co-worker. “you git! turn the bloody thing on will you?!”
“very well, then. the time has come to found my empire. though, before i do, i shall require a display of loyalty. prove to me your dedication by showing me your pheonix dance!” viscount druitt requested, flamboyantly turning and posing.
“never mind, let’s kill him,” ciel, sebastian, grell and ronald declared, sharing the blank tone and annoyed expression.
..................................................................................
“bloody hell, reign it in! you know we’re not meant to kill humans!” ronald scolded from across the hall as grell massacred the corpses in their way and launched at the viscount. before grell’s death scythe touched the viscount, undertaker held up a wooden stick, preventing the red-haired reaper from finishing the job. grell gasped as they realised their death scythe did nothing against undertaker’s choice of defense.
“i don’t remember the last time i laughed this much,” undertaker cried through his fit of giggles before he deepened his voice. “i’m afraid this is where i must step in. the death of a man so entertaining would be a loss to the world if you ask me. i cannot allow you to take his life, sorry, little reaper.” he ripped his hat off and revealed a multitude of the same wooden stick he’d used against grell, bathed in an ominous green glow. swiftly, he threw a group at grell, who was mid-air. luckily, grell was able to block them.
the glass shattered above them and sebastian shielded ciel with his body to prevent injury from the shards that fell to the ground. ciel peered over his shoulder and his eyes widened at the sight of large, black feathered wings and a familiar mop of [hair colour] hair.
“[name]...?” he muttered.
“i suppose it’s over now,” undertaker stated, pushing his bangs out of his face to reveal a long scar across his face and eyes that matched grell and ronald’s. “a shame, i so enjoyed when this room was filled with laughter.”
..................................................................................
[name] stayed behind as they watched their husband and the grim reaper’s fight against undertaker, failing at every chance they got. unsheathing their weapon, they joined the reapers as they tried their best to break undertaker’s weapon, regretting their decision as soon as a green light covered the wooden stick, fading to reveal a large scythe. undertaker swung it with expert skill, cutting all three of his attackers in the torso. grell and ronald hit the floor roughly, while [name] unsteadily fluttered back down, causing sebastian and ciel to gasp, both at [name]’s injury and undertaker’s new toy.
the explanation about the scythe wasn’t enough to distract the winged being from the pain they were experiencing. the silver-haired man wasn’t helping as he returned to his offensive position, destroying the hall while doing so.
“wasted efforts,” undertaker commented as sebastian threw tables and chairs at him. “truly, i can slice through a table as easily as snapping a biscuit.”
“but it kept you occupied long enough for me to get inside your reach,” sebastian stated, undertaker dodging the attack just in time.
“i see you have a fair hand for strategy. Luckily, i happen to as well.” undertaker flipped backwards, grabbing ciel by his shirt and pulling the child towards him. “now, i’ve dreamt of fitting you for one of my coffins for so very long, my lord.” sebastian growled as he temporarily shifted forms, while [name] sped towards undertaker alongside him. the retired grim reaper smiled as he threw ciel over the banister of the stairs. “i knew that would do the trick.” ciel’s eyes widened, reaching out for sebastian as his butler’s arm extended out to his master. [name] quickly pushed sebastian to ciel to guarantee the child’s safety, and the moment of reassurance was quickly replaced with excruciating pain.
“[name]!” ciel and sebastian cried as they watched Undertaker’s scythe enter from behind and exit from the front, impaling the fallen angel on the blade.
their record played before everyone’s eyes, showing the first meeting between [name] and sebastian many years ago, the day they were rejected by god himself, falling in love with a demon, meeting ciel, ciel calling [name] [mum/dad] by accident, hiring the servants and even [name] and sebastian’s marriage.
by the time it had finished, a singular beat of [name]’s wings brought them close enough to their master and husband, wrapping their wings around them as they fell to the ground.
“naturally, i expected nothing less from a servant such as yourself. i was certain you’d protect the earl for me,” undertaker said, watching over the three lying on the ground covered in red.
ciel opened his eyes, met with Sebastian’s chest and covered by the arms of his butler and [name] along with a large black wing. sebastian sat up, following ciel’s gaze to his spouse, covered in blood and unconscious.
“[name]! oi, [name]! [name]!” ciel cried, shaking their shoulders.
“there’s no need to shout, i can hear you just fine...” [name] responded in a whisper, cracking their eyelids open slightly.
sebastian pulled them onto his lap, holding them by their shoulder. “it’s alright, my love, i’ve got you.”
ciel watched the couple through a teary eye, edging closer to [name] cautiously. he relaxed when he saw them smile and beckon him closer. “do you need to stroke my wings, ciel?” they asked, shocking the boy at the sound of his name. he hadn’t heard it from them since he was 10. “i know it always used to calm you down when you had a nightmare...” he hesitantly reached his hand out to touch the black feathers, looking down when he stroked them gently.
“my lord, i don’t think they will make it,” sebastian informed sorrowfully.
“fallen angels aren’t blessed with immortality, we aren’t under god’s protection anymore. i’m just glad... that i was able to protect you... one last time,” [name] said, breathing heavily.
“don’t talk, [name]. that’s an order,” ciel said through tears, earning a chuckle from [name]. undertaker watched the scene with a blank face, knowing what sebastian would be feeling, but he remained silent. another few minutes passed of [name] fading in and out of consciousness and never-ending dread filling ciel and sebastian.
“ciel, it was a pleasure serving you,” they said eventually, pulling him forward and pressing a gentle kiss on his forehead. “sebastian, i love you.” they raised their hand to stroke sebastian’s cheek as he leaned down to give them a final kiss. when he pulled away, they had gone.

Ethereal Miracles- Sebastian Michaelis x Reader
Tumblr media
You’re too sweet girl ugh ily🥺💓💓 I hope you enjoy this!!❤️❤️
You sighed quietly to yourself as you carefully prepared the decorations for the ball that the Viscount of Druitt was throwing. Ordinarily, you’d love a party, but ever since you’d found yourself reluctantly employed by Aleister Chamber, things that had made you happy didn’t inspire the same joy anymore.
“(Y/N)! Are you almost finished?!” You winced at his obvious irritation. “Y-yes, Master, I’m just applying the finishing touches.” He huffed. “Fine, but be quick about it.”
You moved as quickly as you could, to avoid his wrath. Although the blonde was passionate and poetic most of the time, however, his anger was something you did not want to experience.
Thanks (or no thanks, really) to the ‘excellent’ motivation, you completed your tasks in no time. You wiped the sweat from your brow with your sleeve as you left the ballroom. Next on the list was to prepare yourself for the long night ahead of you.
Much to your relief, your master was proud of your work, going off on one of his signature ‘poetic’ tangents about how elegant the room was and so on and so forth. As much as his excessive talking bothered you, it was better than being scolded, you supposed.
O~O~O~O~O~O~O~O~O~O~O
By now the party was in full swing and you had your hands full, literally and figuratively, with drinks and waiting on the guests. A child and his butler waved you over, clearly in want of a drink.
You passed a snooty looking couple and averted your eyes, just missing the lady stick out her foot in your direction. Almost in slow motion, you went flying, your platter of expensive glasses filled with even more expensive beverages, shattering on the floor.
Everything went silent for a moment, and it felt like you were under a microscope. Everyone could see you sprawled across the floor, surrounded by a mess of wasted champagne.
Then you heard those dreaded footsteps of your enraged master, the Viscount of Druitt. “Why, you wretched waste of space! How dare you embarrass me in such a manner?!”
You watched, frozen on your knees, as his hand prepared to make contact with your face. Just before his hand reached you, it stopped and gasps rose up. The black-haired butler from earlier had stopped your master’s hand in mid-air, a chilling smile on his face.
“You would hit a lady for a simple mistake? Especially one not caused by her? If anything, you should be angry at your guests for tripping her.”
Even in your current predicament, you couldn’t help but acknowledge how... utterly beautiful the man was. The light of the chandelier shined directly on him, making him look ethereal. If it wasn’t for his distinct red eyes, you could say he almost looked angelic.
A new wave of gasps and murmurs reached your ears at the revelation. “Here you go, Miss,” The butler smiled, politely, his hand outstretched to you. Shakily, you stood up with his help.
“Thank you, sir, I apologize for the inconvenience…” You bowed the weight of your humiliation heavy upon your shoulders. The butler patted your shoulder, reassuring you. “Nonsense, the only people who should be apologizing are them.”
He pointed at the couple from earlier that you had passed. They rushed away frantically the Viscount on their tails.
“Are you alright?” The boy, the butler’s master, appeared in front of you. “Y-yes! Thank you both for your assistance.” The child merely nodded and walked away to continue his conversation from before.
“May I have this dance, Miss…” You flushed, placing your hand in his outstretched one. “(Y/N)... what can I call you?” He smirked as he spun you onto the dance floor. “Sebastian Michaelis, at your service.”
You giggled, in slight disbelief. This man, with unnatural beauty and charm, was giving you the night of your life. You had only just met, but you were already hoping to see more of him.

Tumblr media
Though it seems you were just starting to fall into deep sleep, you hear a faint knock on your bedroom door. You ignored it figuring you were just hearing things in your sleep. Surely it couldn’t have been the next morning. The door opens, the creaking of the door making you alert. It was oddly quiet, surely somebody would’ve said something by now. A deep feeling of panic sits at the bottom of your stomach. Thinking you hadn’t heard a knock at all but now the door has opened.
“My lady?”
You sigh in frustration, the tight grip you had on the duvet that was held to your chin released. You sat up on your bed, moving long stray hairs from your face, you gazed at the tall, strikingly handsome butler. You held the duvet against your bare chest, flushing slightly.
“What are you thinking sneaking around like that while I sleep?”
You watched as he stepped into your bedroom, clothes in one hand, the other behind his back. “My apologies, my lady, I assumed you had heard me knocking,” Sebastian Michaelis bows before walking toward the curtains, pulling them back with just one hand. You flinched, expecting a bright sun to hug the room, not noticing a change in brightness behind your eyelids you opened your eyes to see the gloomy outdoors.
Still clutching the duvet to your chest, you swung your legs over the side of the bed, one exposed after the other. You stood up, letting the duvet fall and follow you as you make your way to the window. Sebastian stood aside, eyes following every move you made. He was mesmerized by the way your body moved, the sinful thought that you were completely bare beneath that duvet hovered over. He smirked at the thought.
“What an ugly day.”
“Now, now, my lady. You’ve just seen a brief glance of the day, the clouds could move and it could be the most beautiful day you could’ve ever wished to see,” Sebastian’s smooth voice made your eyelids flutter in the slightest. He was a charming man, every word was captivating.
You gaze out of the window, Phantomhive manor stood tall, the view breathtaking no matter the weather. Sebastian took brief glances at you as you did, he had admired the outside view one too many times, the sight of you, a fresh faced natural woman standing before him, a man could never complain.
Though the day was much too busy to be standing around gazing at beauty. Sebastian clears his throat, “We do have a big day ahead of us, my lady,” he offers his gloved unoccupied hand to you, “Shall we get you dressed?”
You hesitated, “Where’s Mey-Rin?”
“She is downstairs preparing for tonight’s ball like I asked. If you so desire, I will be more than happy to send her upstairs for you,” Sebastian still held his hand out for you. This wouldn’t be the first time he has dressed you, though the thought of it made your whole body flush every time.
“No, it’s alright,” You rested your hand on top of his, he tightens his grip slightly, you look up to meet his eyes, “I won’t look.” The soft gesture could’ve made you melt right at the spot. He lead you over to your bed, he stood tall in front of you blocking your view of the window. He started to close his eyes, placing the other clothing items other than your dress and undergarments on the bed behind you.
“Whenever you’re ready, my lady.”
You shyly drop the duvet onto the floor, you watched as it fell to your feet leaving your body exposed in front of the man. You gaze up at him, eyes wide, mouth open slightly. Just open them, you thought. Gazing at him for just a few more moments, you took in a breath, heart beating slightly faster.
“Open your eyes, Sebastian.”
The room was silent, the word slipped from your tongue. Your eyes never leaving his stoic facial expression, eyes still remained closed. Sebastian leaned closer to you, his right cheek brushed against yours, he stopped just before he passed your ear, “Is that an order?”
Your breath hitched, eyelids fluttered closed.
“M’lady! Oh m’lady! I’ve come to dress you!” The shrill excited voice of the hand maiden Mey-Rin surrounds the silent room. Sebastian quickly reaches for the duvet that fell to the floor, covering it around your frame just before Mey-Rin reached the entrance.
“M’lady! Oh, Sebastian!” Sebastian slowly opens his red eyes, Mey-Rin stands at the doorway with her mouth agape not expecting to see Sebastian there with you. She paid no mind to your covered frame, her gaze focused on the handsome butler.
“Mey-Rin, have you finished what I asked you to do?” You gaze up at him, Sebastian kept his gaze on Mey-Rin, you flushed as you thought he was slightly annoyed that Mey-Rin had fulfilled her duties so quickly.
“Yes, Sebastian! I finished what you asked for, yes I did!”
Sebastian leaned closer to you, shocking you, he made eye contact as he set down the dress and undergarments on top of the rest of your clothing. He was so close to you, you had almost completely forgot your hand maiden stood just a few feet away.
“Quickly dress Ms. Phantomhive. We have a busy day ahead of us, in fact it’s almost time for tea.” Sebastian walked away from you leaving your body feeling slightly cold, you watched as he left. He walked by a flustered Mey-Rin giving you one last glance before leaving the ladies’ sight.
Mey-Rin lets out a deep breath, “Oh, that man is the most gorgeous man.” Realizing what she had just said in front of her majesty, she tenses up. “M’lady! Let’s get you all dressed up for the day shall we? Yes, we shall!” She shuts your bedroom door and begins to dress you, you were comfortable in front of her. You couldn’t help but zone off as she dressed you, had she not interrupted your explicit intentions, what bizarre thing could’ve happened?
-
As you offer to help Mey-Rin, Bardroy and Finny with decorating and prepping for tonight’s ball, Sebastian Michaelis and Ciel Phantomhive migrate to his office. Sebastian held a sealed letter in his gloved hand, already knowing the contents withheld inside the envelope.
“Young master, you have received the official guest list for tonight’s ball. While you overlook the list may I offer you some tea?”
“What kind?”
“Jackson’s Earl Grey, my lord.”
Sebastian starts to pour a glass of tea for his master as the boy skims over the list he was given. Tonight’s ball held a new look on some new toys created within the Funtom company. He skims over each and every name, Sebastian patiently stood in front of his desk, gazing at the boy. His mind trailed off as he continued to watch his master.
The sinful thought of him given the opportunity to see Ms. Phantomhive bare in front of him. A dangerous woman, he thought. The older sister peaked the demon’s interest from day one though respectful of his master, he never intended on making any not so smart choices. However, recently it’s been difficult, you were growing, you were graving every need a growing girl could muster and Sebastian knew it. It thrilled him.
“Edward Adley, where have I heard that name before?” The young master’s voice broke Sebastian’s dirty trailing thoughts.
“Edward Adley was a common bidder who was favored by Aleister Chamber, viscount of Druitt.” Sebastian’s words seep into the young master’s head. The words disgusting him, a human trafficking bidder was attending tonight’s ball.
Ciel Phantomhive did not bother reading the rest of the list after this man’s name. He impatiently tapped his finger against the desk, he pondered what should be done about this. Taking a few sips of his tea, he thought of what Edward Adley would want to do with Funtom toys.
“If you’ll excuse me young master, I must see to it that Lady Phantomhive gets her tea.”
Ciel stopped tapping his fingers. That’s it. He mumbled your name to himself.
“Pardon me, my lord?”
“Sebastian. This man is not just attending this ball without a purpose, this man is after something, or rather someone. We must be fully alert during tonight’s ball. This man is not to be underestimated.”
Sebastian smiled at his young master, “Of course, my lord.”
-
The evening has begun, after much too long of corset tightening, you were finally tidying things up before heading downstairs to greet your guests along with your younger brother. You met both Ciel and Sebastian outside as soon as the first few guests had arrived. You greeted them politely, Sebastian stands at your side watching you greet them but trying his best not to be too distracted. He was on the lookout for this Edward Adley, there was no time to be in another place.
One of the last few cars had arrived, a handsome man just a tad shorter than Sebastian had stepped out of a nice carriage. His attention immediately set to the gorgeous woman greeting her guests. He stood awestruck by your beauty, Aleister Chamber’s words not false in the slightest bit. Ignoring the two men that stood beside you, he focused his attention on you.
Out of nowhere the man grabs your hand almost too roughly for your liking, “Good evening, my love. My name is Edward Adley, I must say I am absolutely mesmerized by your beauty.” His predator eyes made you extremely uncomfortable but there were other guests around, you didn’t want to cause a scene.
“Oh, well thank you, Mr. Adley,” You politely curtseyed, you tried to lightly tug your hand from his but his grip seemed to tighten. “Please, my love, call me Edward,” The man placed his lips over your hand.
“Mr. Adley, I do hate to intrude but please do not touch Lady Phantomhive without her permission.”
Sebastian’s deep, stern voice made Edward Adley jump in his place, he released your hand. Deciding this weird man was the last guest you would greet before heading inside you announced you were departing to the young master and his butler. They made sure to keep you until after Mr. Adley had been long gone into the manor.
You were uncomfortable to say the least, you had felt grimy after that man had kissed your hand. Finding time to distract yourself by chatting with numerous guests inside the ballroom, the thought of that man had simply left your mind.
Ciel Phantomhive stood near the food display with his butler, his mind strictly focused on Edward Adley. He did not let the man leave his sight for one second. He began to feel uneasy, the way that man had grabbed your hand, confirming his earlier assumptions about him being there for you and you only.
“Sebastian.”
“Yes, my lord?”
“Do not let (Y/N) out of your sight, you are to be near her at all times. Should you see that something strange is going on you act on it immediately. You take her away from here if need be. I do not trust that man.”
There was a pause, Sebastian smirked to himself waiting for his young master to finish.
“That’s an order.”
“Yes, my lord.”
-
You were exhausted, the impact of not getting enough rest the night before has you losing your energy for this ball fast. As the guests quickly make their way to the dance floor, you found this the perfect opportunity to sneak away and catch some air. You were sure if Ciel or Sebastian had seen you they would be upset, you were extra careful making sure their attention was elsewhere.
Exiting through the kitchen to the back door, you caught your breath once you hit the outdoor air, gazing up at the beautiful sunset laid out before you. It was stunning, Sebastian’s words from earlier this morning were remarkably true. You slowly make your way toward the gardens, you loved coming to the gardens when things became too much to handle. It was something you had carried on from your parents. Both of them loved the gardens, they told stories so your father would put it.
You closed your eyes listening to the ambient sounds of the outside. They were closed for just a few moments. Opening them once more you noticed a man standing far from you, you couldn't quite see who he was but you could make out an object in his hand. The sound of a gunshot pierced through the soft ambient noise. There was an immediate impact of pain searing through your right shoulder. Your hands start to shake, your knees had given in from the sudden weakness surrounding your body. Blood cascaded down your exposed chest into the small crease of your dress.
You were shocked at the sudden turn of events, you noticed three men running toward you, their faces covered with masks. One of the men lifts you up and carries you to a familiar carriage just behind the manor where no one would see. You tried to scream or fight back but it seemed nothing was happening.
The man who carried you to the carriage roughly shoved you inside, he shut the door harshly. Expecting him and the three other men to pile inside and take advantage of you, you sobbed and awaited your untimely death. You looked around the carriage, the three men were talking outside, they were muffled but as they spoke you started to recognize this carriage, it was Adley’s.
Sobbing even more once you realized who was behind this, you lay on the carriage floor. It took nearly all of the strength you had in you to rip a piece of your dress to create a tourniquet to stop the bleeding. Painfully, you tied the fabric around your shoulder as best as you could. You noticed that it was quiet outside of the carriage, you sat up and peeked out of the window.
You jumped and screamed as you saw a bloody hand press against the window, Sebastian’s face appeared in front of you, his eyes soft once he realized you were okay. His beautiful face was covered in blood spatter he was almost unrecognizable.
“S-Sebastian?”
“My lady, may I ask a favor of you?” Sebastian’s voice muffled through the glass window. Confused by what was happening, you merely sat there looking at his stoic face.
“Cover your eyes and ears. Please, my lady.”
You nodded slowly, obeying his request, you lay back down on the carriage floor. Covering your eyes and ears, you waited patiently, you counted to ten before you felt soft hands remove your hands away from your ears.
“Keep your eyes closed, love.”
Sebastian carried you bridal style away from the three dead men, you rested your head against his neck making sure to keep your eyes closed knowing fully well what was beneath you.
He carried you through the manor careful not to run into any guests along the way. He hummed as he walked up the stairs making his way to your bedroom. He was gentle with laying you down on your bed, untying the pathetic excuse for a tourniquet, he placed the blood stained cloth on the nightstand. He reached underneath your nightstand to find a kit with gauze and thread. He had asked you to sit up so he could see the wound better, he let you lean against him as he proceeded to fix the wound.
You could’ve slept being leaned against him like you were. You were almost numb to the pain now, not too worried about it since there was no worry from Sebastian.
“I’m going to have to undress you, my lady.”
You nodded, he helped you stand, turning you around he unzipped the back of your dress, letting it fall to the ground. It was faint, faint enough to where you could've sworn you were feeling things but a soft kiss was pressed lightly to your injured shoulder. Sebastian gently untied many tightened strings until your corset was limp, he took off the corset, your back still facing him.
He closed his eyes waiting for you to get comfortable in your bed. He gathered the dirty clothes on the floor and started to make his way out of your bedroom.
“Sebastian.”
“Yes, my lady?”
“Stay with me. Just for tonight.”

Sebastian x Reader(Chapter 1)
You groaned hearing the news that you, along with your father, were expected to attend a ball at the Phantomhive estate. You dreaded these high-class social gatherings and found it a bit suffocating to be an unmarried, unbetrothed young lady of your social standing. It was comparable to being a sheep among wolves. Wolves that were ravenous for titles, money, and power. Personally, you didn’t care much for nobility or the gentry. You found it all to be quite boring. Unfortunately for you however, you and your father were formally invited to the Phantomhive manor to attend a ball the young lord was hosting. Your father had recently been given the new title of the “Queen’s Spider” due to the untimely death of the previous Spider and now had the dutiful obligation to attend these ridiculous parties. Alas, being a woman of noble birth as well as being your father’s only child, you too had duties to fulfill, if you were going to inherit your father’s land and title.
“Tonight, I need you to be on your best behavior, Darling”, your father remarked as he studied the scowl you wore on your face. “I need you to look your best as well. This will be my first meeting with the Earl Phantomhive and I intend to make the best impression. No doubt, he is just as eager to meet his new counterpart as well.”
“Hmph, you speak as if I behave like some sort of savage”, you muttered.
“That is not my intended meaning, Darling,” he chuckled. “I just would like to emphasize the fact that we will be in the company of some very prominent families tonight, and you know how the nobility can be once they see anything that is deemed indecent in their noble eyes. We must make the maximum effort to exhibit our worthiness of this title as well as upholding the honor of our family’s name.”
“Yes, yes, I know Father. I was just teasing. You do know how I loathe these petty gatherings. Nonetheless, Adira and I will begin the preparations for tonight’s ball, since I am to look my very best for all those fatheaded peacocks” you smiled, grabbing your handmaiden and rushing out of the room before your father can lecture you on your language.
***Meanwhile at the Phantomhive Estate***
“Sebastian, what else do we know about the Queen’s new Spider?” Ciel questions his butler while sipping on his tea.
“Well, my lord, let me see...” *Sebastian dramatically pulls out a long scroll* “Lord Reginald Herbert, 15th Earl of Pembroke and 12th Earl of Montgomery. He is a direct descendent of William Marshall, 1st Earl of Pembroke, who is also often referred to as the greatest medieval knight. Through the generations, this family has maintained their title and traditions of knighthood as well as being formally acknowledged by the royally family. He currently has no wife or sons and is to be succeeded by his only child, Lady (Y/N) Herbert... oh, and he also has a fondness for cats and proudly holds an impressive collection of stamps.”
“Interesting”, Ciel takes a moment to consider all Sebastian has told him. “When Lord Herbert and his daughter arrive, I want you to keep a very close eye on them. Watch who they mingle with. I want a full report of their whereabouts throughout the night.”
“Yes, my lord.”
____________time skip to the arrival at the Phantomhive Ball___________
Your carriage was steadily approaching the Phantomhive estate. It was impressive. You could already begin to hear the excited clamoring of the party guests as you near the entrance of the manor. You could just barely make out the figure of a young boy next to a tall, lanky man, greeting each of the guests at the door.
You turn to look at your father before he states, “You look absolutely radiant, Darling.”
“It’s true milady. This dress is gorgeous on you” Adira, your handmaiden, expresses proudly.
You remain quiet, looking out at the manor before you. When the carriage comes to a halt, you take a deep breath, preparing yourself for the night ahead.
The three of you are greeted at the top of the entrance steps by none other than Lord Phantomhive and his butler. He’s shorter than you imagined. A lot younger too. When you heard of the renowned Earl Phantomhive, you would have never imagined such a young boy.
After greeting your father, the boy turns to you and smiles, “We are honored to have you here my lady.”
“The pleasure is mine, my lord.” you curtsy before looking up to catch the crimson eyes of his butler, watching you intently.
You never break eye contact with the butler as you stand back up from your curtsy. To this, he seems surprised, widening his eyes ever so slightly. There is something about this butler that you can’t quite place your finger on. You notice that Ciel also quietly notes the reaction his butler has had to you before introducing him.
“This is Sebastian Michaelis, my butler.”
Sebastian quickly regains his composure at the words of his master and takes a step forward, bowing. “We welcome you to the Phantomhive estate. My lord. My lady.”
You continue to watch him while he remains bowing, one hand on his chest and the other behind his back, eyes closed with a polite smile on his lips. As Lord Phantomhive welcomes you into the manor, your father takes your arm while they continue their conversation on the way inside. You pass Sebastian, still silently watching him, and from the corner of your eye, you catch a glimpse of him opening his eyes to watch you too.
Once inside, you take an observation of the party in front of you and those who are in attendance. Adira quietly excuses herself to stand amongst the other servants. Seeing that your father is deeply in conversation with the young lord, you excuse yourself to walk through the crowd of mingling nobles. Much to your chagrin, you are stopped by some bloke sporting an elegant white suit with a ridiculous amount of ruffles and jewelry.
“And who might this young dove be?” He asked while grabbing your hand and pulling you into him.
You were dumbfounded by the boldness and sudden closeness of this stranger but remained calm, remembering your father’s request to be on your best behavior tonight.
At this rate, I won’t last the night with the likes of him hanging around me, you thought as you gently pushed the man away from you. Judging by the blond hair, lavender eyes, and the animated melodrama, you determined that the nuisance that stood in front of you was the Viscount of Druitt, Aleistor Chamber. You had heard of the Viscount’s eccentric behavior but you had never thought it would be this brash.
You gritted your teeth, mustering up any resilience you had in you to give the Viscount a polite curtsy and smile before introducing yourself. “Pardon me, my lord. I am (Y/N) Herbert. My father is Lord Reginald Herbert. I don’t believe I’ve had the pleasure of meeting you, sir.”
“My Lady (Y/N)! My beautiful dove! I have so looked forward to meeting you. I have only but heard of your exquisite beauty!...”
You rolled your eyes, quietly backing away from the blabbering buffoon. The fool is so caught up in his own voice that I could be removing my frock and he wouldn’t even notice.
“For me to have you, right here, in front of my eyes, I cannot bear it!! You must stop playing coy and simply dance with me this instant, my darling! Let us take flight into the night as turtledoves do and dance this night away with a passion so fiery that even the devil himself, could not withstand it!!”
By the end of his act, he had struck a rather dramatic pose right before opening his eyes and noticing your absence. Hiding behind the ballroom doors, you listened to his over-exaggerating exclaims of lost love. You couldn’t help but giggle, as you turned to relieve yourself from this crowd of insufferable individuals. Just as you turned, you hit something. Or someone.
“Pa-pardon me. I wasn’t paying attention. I’m sorry.” you stuttered bashfully. Embarrassed of your clumsiness and carelessness. Damn it, pay attention you idiot!
You looked up to see that you had actually bumped into Sebastian, the butler. He smiled before bowing, “The fault is mine, my lady. I was not paying any mind to where I was standing, and for that, I sincerely apologize.”
You laughed. “You surely, cannot be apologizing for merely standing in a spot you, by no doubt, were ordered to stand in. I accept your apology, sir, but the fault is mine.” You nodded your head at him, gently placing your hand on his arm for a moment.
At the touch of his arm, you felt something. A shock? A spark? No. More like a pulse. A hum. A tangible energy of some sort. As sudden as the feeling came, it disappeared. It was clear that the butler had also felt this same feeling as he stood there, wide-eyed and frozen, gaping at you in bewilderment. His look of astonishment was soon switched to one of intrigue along with something else. Distrust? Wariness?
The butler regathered himself before clearing his throat. “Please my lady. Call me Sebastian.” He politely smiled at you. “And, if I may, that was some rather impressive maneuvering I seen you do back there. The Viscount of Druitt can be very...” He paused for a moment searching for an appropriate word, “...intense.”
“That’s one word for it.” you muttered under your breath.
“If I may ask, my lady. Where is it that you were off to?”
“Anywhere’s better than here”, you looked at the crowd of people dancing, drinking, and laughing.
“Oh? Would you like me to retrieve your handmaiden to accompany you?”
You scanned the crowd to spot Adira talking to the other servants. She seemed to be enjoying herself. You quickly looked over the crowd to see your father amongst a group of nobles, including the ball’s host. He too seemed to be enjoying himself. You sighed and shook your head, “Poor girl needs a break. I think I can manage on my own.”
“Well, if it’s not too much trouble milady, may I accompany you on your trek to anywhere?” He smiled, lacing the last few words in sarcasm. “If you like, I can offer you an exclusive tour of the Phantomhive manor.”
You eyed him warily before accepting his offer of accompanying you. Don’t want to let the new spiders out of your sights aye? I appreciate the vigilance Lord Phantomhive. “Very well then. Although, I don’t care for the manor very much. I wish to be shown the gardens.”
“As you wish, milady.”

Question, Do you take ships request?
like, to write things for a ship between canon characters? very rarely, but, I've been known to do things like that once in a while
(tho, the canon things I ship are probably things which don't make much sense to anyone else, like Viscount Druitt x Madame Red, but they make me happy XD)
I usually keep this blog focused on x reader ships and unnamed S/O ships and things like that tho! but I am a slut for canon x OC so I do write my OCs here sometimes too ahaha

Musical “Kuroshitsuji” – Interview with Furukawa Yuta as Sebastian Michaelis (Part 1)
<<Link to original interview>>
<<Link to part 2 of the interview>>
The first part of the interview with Furukawa Yuta on the Kuroshitsuji musical Franchise and the upcoming musical. The translation of the second part will follow sooooon.
“As an actor Furukawa Yuta plays [Sebastian] with the wish to make this his representative role.”
Tumblr media
“Even without knowing the original series beforehand, the musicals of “Kuroshitsuji” are incredibly enjoyable as a play.”
Q: Mr. Furukawa, what are the “Kuroshitsuji” musicals to you?
A: “I am a fan of the original manga series. Although I only started on the series because of the role I received, and I planned to read the “Lycoris that Blazes the Earth” arc only, the manga was just so enjoyable I found myself accidentally finishing all 23 volumes that were available back then. I have always been a great fan of mysteries and suspense in series, and the story of “Kuroshitsuji” is very interesting. I think it is fantastic how the riddles offered in the first half of an arc get to be solved gradually as the story moves towards its second half. Moreover, the characters are very charming, and because the series is filled with remarkable characters it really feels as though a whole new dimension opens up to [the reader].
Tumblr media
I have watched the musicals before [joining the franchise myself], and the characters were all very interesting, so I felt very enchanted. I guess I found the eccentric Grell Sutcliff (Uehara Takuya) the most interesting. And also Viscount Druitt played by Hide-chan (Sasaki Yoshihide) is very charming.”
Q: There are many people attracted to musicals based on an original manga series, the so-called “2.5D musicals”. How do you feel [2.5D] musicals differ from standard musicals?
Tumblr media
A: “What I find is essential to 2.5D musicals is that it is especially important to emulate the original series as well as possible, in order to satisfy the fans of the 2D manga. The “Kuroshitsuji” musicals though, even if you do not know the original work beforehand they are very enjoyable, and both cast and staff work hard to produce a singular, solid work. Therefore I think that even without having watched the others, the newest musical might be able to cater to the wishes of spectators.”
Q: Regarding the “emulate the original series as well as possible,” I have often heard people say things like: “Moulding the cast’s hairstyles of body-type [after the character].
A: “If we are talking about Sebas, then I think that a long and slender aesthetic is better suited, so I do not need beefy muscles, and for once that is fine, I thought. That is why I have been training as usual, but take care to maintain my slenderness with bare-minimum muscles during the rehearsal. Other than that I don’t really do anything with my body though. However, I do pay a lot of attention to standing up straight, my posture and demeanour in order to look like a proper butler.
It is not like I do not take any of the fans’ voices into consideration. It is just that I do not let those dictate me. All I want is to be able to establish a clear image of Sebas in the spectators’ minds, and I really hope not to disappoint anybody. I have been hoping that this mind-set might be able to help improve the quality of this franchise.”
“Playing the demon consciously maintaining the ‘high-angle view’”
Q: You have taken part in the “Kuroshitsuji” musicals in the two arcs “Lycoris that Blazes the Earth” and “NOAH’S ARK CIRCUS”. How do you perceive Sebastian Michaelis (Sebas), the role you have been playing?
Tumblr media
A: “Even though he is a demon, he is a demon I can empathise with a lot. For example how he observes the foolishness of human beings and everything going on in the world. He just observes and looks down on human beings like ourselves, and sees everything through an objective eye.”
Q: It has been said that it is very difficult to be entirely conscious of things outside oneself if you’re young. But Mr. Furukawa, as an actor whose job is to sculpt roles into persons, you might have been maintaining a ‘high-angle view’ [for the character-building], right?
A: “It goes without saying that there is plenty in my direct surrounding that I cannot see (laughs), but indeed in the past few years, as I have been placed in the position of playing [the lead character] , I guess at least I am always aware that I must be looking around myself.”
Q: Have you also intentionally differentiated yourself from the first Sebas played by Mr. Matsushita Yuya?
A: “No, I have not, in a good way, I mean. I have also seen the performances by Mr. Matsushita, but at that time I never thought that I would be next [playing Sebas]. And there was no need for me to think about ‘how I should play this character’ and such matters, so that was very fortunate for me. When it had been decided that I would be getting this role, I did not purposely think about how to go in a different direction, nor did I look at any past footage, I just wanted to devote myself to creating my own Sebas through the original manga.”
“I value the fear and anxiety brought by Sebas’ existence greatly”
Q: Well, Mr. Furukawa, what kind of character is the Sebas you have you been building then?
Tumblr media
A: “The ‘fear’ that I experience, the lurking anxiety that is left inside of me from reading the original comics is something I pay attention to and want to recreate. It’s that kind of anxiety for example, that when you are abroad, the restlessness from just being so far from home, from Japan. I think Sebas is fearsome no matter in what part [of the manga]. Because even though he is protecting his master Ciel with all his might, the very reason he formed the contract with the boy was to kill him and devour his soul in the end. I value that sense of fear and when I play [Sebas] I really want to express that fearsomeness well.”
Q: Sebastian’s loyalty for his master is absolute, so I have always imagined that he might gradually fall in love with his master…
A: “You could say that. But there really is surprisingly little love I think. It has been established from the very first moment that they met, that Sebas does not have the same set of emotions humans have. So I can say with fair certainty that [Sebas] is not in love [with Ciel], I’m sure (laughs).”
Q: What is it like to play a non-human being?
Tumblr media
A: “It’s terrifying. And by terrifying I mean it’s mostly the uncertainty that I never know whether I got him right. That is why I need to be critical of myself always. I am doing my utmost best to find the idea of “I am like this”. Because Sebas is not a human but a demon, there is no way we can be sure what he truly is like on the inside. For example, I’ve been watching animal documentaries, and therein are commentaries that say: “the animal is doing X for Y’s sake”, but in truth, we cannot be certain that the animal actually thinks like that. It’s something like that, I guess?
Q: So what is the most important thing to pay attention to in order to play such a role with confidence?
A: “If anything I guess the objectivity. The arc of the latest musical is especially strong in that, and I have a feeling that this one will be the grandest of all.”

Can I get a break down of all your black butler request/headcanons etc.?
Newest to oldest
Would Sebastian still accept a s/o that doesn't want children?
Dear Sebastian, would you ask a girl's parents if you can court her or ask her yourself?
Can you do something for Edward Midford? The plot being along the lines of him finding out the phantomhive servants are assassins. It would be much appreciated.
Matchup
May I please have jealous/possessive Claude and Sebastian hcs, please? Like where their s/o has an/multiple admirer(s) or something of that nature :)
Dear Sebastian, do you like cuddling with your s/o and doing the things that they enjoy doing?
Sebastian Michaelis one shot please? The reader is a female demon- an assassin- worked on commission and was sent to get rid of Ciel Phantomhive's pesky butler by an unknown third party... only to realise mid battle that they've known and been involved with each other a long time ago... And Sebastian suddenly decides he wants to keep this rare cat-demon... I would love to have some humour thrown in... I just made up the request as I went on- so excuse me if it's bizarre..
Matchup
I almost forgot, but!! Some nsfw HC's about how Seb would return the affection that his S/O ravished on him? ^^ 💕💕
Matchup
Matchup
Dear Mr Phantomhive, I'm sorry if I'm intruding but I'm so curious I feel as if I need to know! What do you look for in a possible, future s/o appearance and personality? Thank you ever so much, Lu!
Matchup
How would Joker and Dagger react to their S/O dying their hair in an unnatural hair color? (I mean, like, bright pink, not those mainstream dark purple and stuff). Take your time, I love your blog! xx
HC's on how you and Ciel would love on Seb~? Separately as well as together? ^_^ 🖤💙✨ Seb needs all the love from all the beans~!! 💗
Ok at the end of my last commission, you had Sebby fall asleep, and that's always sooooo cute~!! So can we get a scenario of s/o and Ciel waking up when he's still asleep, watching him sleep, and watching him start to wake up~? ^_^ 💕💕💕

Hello sweety. I've been gone a long time. Wondering if we could get some more platonic Sebastian and mistress headcannon? :) As always, take your time. Thank you in advance.
Headcannons for Ciel having a rebellous s/o? (ILOVEYOUANDYOURBLOGDSHtBI)
Erika, what would Sebastian and Ulquiorra think of me and my blogs?
How would Sebastian react if he realized whenever he's away with some criminal business with Ciel or anything, his s/o can't sleep nor eat anything because she's afraid something bad can happen to him?
Crossover for Black Butler and Supernatural. Ciel and Sebastian are rogue demons who indirectly shaped Hell into what it is and changed the whole contract system; 10 year time limit, demon/human interaction, demon form appearance, souls being collected by hellhounds, etc. So, they live in the 21st century and mind their own business, despite being a danger to both Hell and Heaven because of Ciel being a human who became a demon. What if these two met with the Winchester brothers?
For a very long time, I've been thinking of a Harry Potter and Black Butler crossover. Especially after the Weston Arc. Imagine, Ciel and Sebastian in Hogwarts under cover. Ciel is a student and Sebastian is the Defense Against the Dark Arts professor. I'm wondering about the relationship between Sebastian and Snape mainly. They are very similar, but also very different. Can you analyze the interaction and relationship between Snape and Sebastian, and then Ciel and Draco since he's like Alois?
Headcanons of Sebastian with an INFJ s/o please.
Matchup
How would Ciel, Lizzy, and Sebastian would react if Their s/o blamed themselves for their sister or brothers death because they believed they should die for committing a sin (killing an innocent person during their manic) and not them and believed everything around them is turning into ashes? Would they confront? Get someone to cheer them up?
Vincent bringing home a woman to meet Ciel to be his nanny/teacher and the woman is a witch who teaches Ciel how to protect himself from Angels and Demons? Please? Plus Vincent asks Ciel if he would like her to be his mother? QWQ
Matchup
Scenario of Sebastian's S/O begin him for death to come please? Thanks in advance!
How would Sebastian deal with his s/o that is afraid of their own mind? They dont want to be bored or be left alone because of the crazy and inhuman things that they think about.
Matchup
(im not even sure if i sent in something like this before but oh well) Can i get a scenario and possibly some headcanons too of Sebastian finding out his s/o has a black soul wrapped in layers of white.
Could you write about how the Undertaker would react to finding out his chubby s/o has medical scars ( for example I have a pink scar from surgery across my belly) and finding out they are self conscious about it? I'm sorry if that's too much! I just love your writing! You are amazing!❤️
Matchup
Could you headcanons for how Ronald Knox would react to someone hardcore flirting with him
Hello, I was wondering if I could get a few nsfw hc about Sebastian (bb) either in general or x a female demon s/o and in their doing something sexual she prefers to be dominant but will be submissive at times? (I'm sorry if this seems like a odd request, feel free to ignore if you don't like it but thank you for reading my request :) )
Hello this is my final ask for now, but I was wondering if I couldget a imagine for Sebastian x female reader who LOVES horror movies and unlike most people who gets creped out she absolutely loves them and likes to try and figure out why the serial killers kills and gets mildly irritated when the characters make a stupidmistake that could have been avoidedAnd if there's a demon hound/cat she finds it oddlycute when its first shown. Also accidentally lets out a giggle if something stupid happens
Hello can I get a HC for Sebastian x female reader who has a seriously terrifying temper, as she doesn't loose it often and tends to bottle up her anger, so when she is finally letting go of her anger you don't want to be near her. (I.e.one time she had to be physically restrained by three people and a locked car to prevent her from unintentionally killing someone who had caused her family so much pain and tore them apart)(sorry if the type of anger above makes you uncomfortable to write)
Self-ship
What would happen if Sebastian meets Whisper (from Yokai Watch)? Lol, 🤣🤣Just though of it since they're both butlers, well Sebastian moreso lolz. 😆
If you write for him, Scenario (or if you want, headcanons, whichever you prefer) Of what if Ronald Knox accidently fell in love with a human?
Hey can you do one with Ciel and his s/o going to woman's house in order to pretend to be babysitter to get edvience about a case of missing people around the woman's neighborhood but all the way there his lover and him bickered about who will babysitting the baby and they get locked in by the woman? I don't know if this is vague or it is not good for you but I hope it seems right.
Currently went to the pet shelter and fell in love with a black cat called "Mr. Black" but at the same time I also fell in love with a black puppy Called "Blue"! Can I get a scenario with sebastian's s/o pleading with him to let them adopt both? :) I'm both a huge cat/dog lover!
Matchup
Could I request a scenario in which Sebastian and Ciel try to compete for the reader? Like, they try to embarrass each other in front of her, and flaunt their best qualities! Thank you very much!

Checkmate Ciel Phantomhive x Reader Part 3
Enjoy~
Ima try to end this part so yay!
Also, cuss words?
Also, Lau is not only annoying to write for but he has no known name anywhere for him, it makes me mad.
Also, I just realized that I ain’t following Grim Reapers rules for Black Butler Whoops~ I’ma just make them have new powers depending on who they are, because they be boring
(F/C) is favorite color in case you didn’t know
“George, who saves a queen?” I asked sweetly. I was either gonna continue to be human or just ‘die’ and become a full-time reaper, either way, I was bored and contemplating everything I could do. “A king I would believe, Lady (Y/n). Why, if I may ask?” I gave a sigh, dying wouldn’t do there was no dramatic way that would make sense for me. I need something in my life to help me with my boredom. “Do we have a case available.” I wouldn’t answer George’s question, I never really did, not until I left the room and he couldn’t question me further. “The Queen has asked for you to get more intel on a new gentleman in town,” I gave a sigh, “There are no new gentlemen in this town George, it’s London. A boring place. You know most people want to go to Paris anyway!” I was acting like a child, I knew but, dammit I was bored. George gave me an annoyed look before continuing. “Apparently his name is Lau and there is no last name known. He apparently is the British branch manager of the Shanghai trading company. He is also a part of the Aristocrats of Evil and has been seen working with that Ciel Phantomhive.” I gave a frustrated sigh. I could invite him to a party and feign interest into him as he is a foreigner, but would he even come if he didn’t have to? One way to make him come was to invite Ciel and his associates as a way to connect ties. But would Ciel make Lau come? They were all extremely hard to read even for me. “Could I just pop up and talk to them?” George gave an exasperated sigh and stood up from the chair in front of my desk. He turned to leave the room. But, before he left he turned around to me. “(Y/N) make a decision soon to stay or leave, as your caretaker, I must only make sure you don’t get hurt. But if you are to stay we both need to know.” To stay or leave was a question that I had to answer by the end of the year. As I was to start reaping souls this age they needed to know if I was coming over and their strenuous workforce would have two reapers to help them or not. “George! I would like to stay.” I gave a small smile. “Very well. I’ll tell them.” He turned away and walked out of the room. I got up from my chair and walked behind my chair to look out of my window. “Meow” I looked up in shock completely forgetting about the kitten. I looked over to the two chairs in front of my desk. In the chair that George hadn’t sat was the kitten. “I really need to give you name, huh little guy?” I whispered out with a small giggle. “How about Midnight?” The kitten gave a small mew and cuddled further into my hand. I giggled at the affection. “Midnight it is then!” I picked the kitten and put in my lap stroking the soft fur and thinking about how to get information about the guy Lau. All I knew as of yet was that he ran opium dens underground and had a personal assassin. “I know!”
I had heard that Ciel was busy solving the Jack the Ripper case. A bloody one to boot. From my sources, they were going to the party at Viscount Druitt’s abode. And from sources, I mean that annoying red reaper Grell. To think Ciel let a demon and that obscene reaper around him as well. But then there was the thought that he didn’t know. I was a bit hesitant about going to the Viscount Druitt’s party as I knew of his selling of women. The reason the queen didn’t know was, she only asked for information about certain things, she never required me to tell her every piece of information. I would go to the party, I was invited after all, and I would spy on Lau or ask that annoying reaper if I didn’t get anything. After getting George to agree to let me go, Marielle helped dress me into the corset. The dress I was in for the occasion was a simple (F/C) dress with white and black accents. My shoes were simple black flats. My hair was styled in curls that flowed down my back and some over my shoulder. As George helped me into my carriage, I thought about my meeting with Ciel. He had grown quite well and was very handsome. Too bad he was betrothed to an ignorant girl of the underworld. But I couldn’t change fate. If I could I would stop Ciel from forming a contract with that demon.
I got out of the carriage and stepped up the marble steps and into the party. George seemed uncharacteristically nervous for once. “I’ll be fine go wait somewhere else,” I whispered with a sly smile. “Of course Lady (Y/N).” He walked off without another word as I made my way to the edge of the dance floor but close to the door. I guessed so that the viscount would acknowledge Ciel, he would cross dress. It would be a sight to see. Shortly after they appeared in the doorway. I waited for them to cross over to the dance floor. I walked over to them and put on my best fake smile, “Well aren’t you the belle or the ball! I’m (Y/N) (L/N) and you are?” I asked. I had just to get close to gain interest from Lau and I could invite him over for business. “I am terribly sorry Lady (Y/N) but my mistress and I have somewhere to be.” Sebastian gave a smile and quickly guided Ciel away. I watched over them. I then turned around to Lau, Angelina Dalles, and that flipping red reaper. I gave a little giggle before I spoke. “Well that was interesting, may I ask your names?” I spoke giving a closed-eyed smile. Angelina was the first to speak, “Well aren’t you adorable! Just call me Madame Red! And this here is my Butler Grell and..” She was cut off by Sebastian starting a magic trick and inviting Lau up to help him. I gave Sebastian an irritated look which caused the bastard to smirk even more.
The party went smoothly except for my getting kidnapped just because I was on the balcony near the Viscount and Ciel. The blankets on the cages lifted and I could see around me. “You're kidding me, right!” I whispered-yelled. Ciel looked over at me, “Why are you here?” He whispered to me. I gave him a glare before saying “Having a fantastic time!” I looked out at the crowd, “Wow, that’s a lot of death.” My head hurt from all of the death going to happen and all of the souls to be reaped. I finally tuned into the Viscount to hear him selling Ciel and me. “And the other one is a (Y/H/C)-ette and should go for a quite a hefty price as she is the one who holds the most blackmail information, control her control most of England.” I gave a scoff, more than just most of England practically all of it. “When is your demon getting here!” I whispered to him. Ciel rolled his eyes before ordering Sebastian to come and get him. After Sebastian took out the room and got Ciel out he helped me out as well. I stood up and brushed off my dress, “Well if you’ll excuse I have to get out of here before I’m blamed.” All traces of a smile gone. I was a bit mad. I got kidnapped, that wasn’t supposed to happen. “Wait! Come back to my manor with us there is something I want to talk about,” I was startled by Ciel’s outburst. But I turned around with a small smile on my face and answered, “Why not.”
Well carp, I didn’t finish it.
Oh well, next time.

One Hell of a Love (Book 1) Chapter Five
Sebastian Michaelis x Demon! Reader
Chapter Five: One Hell of a Viscount
Summary: (Y/N) and Ciel meet Viscount Druitt, and (Y/N) and Sebastian give the people a dance performance to remember.
“Are you sure you insist on the black?” sighed Madame Red as she picked up one of the dozens of dresses she’d forced (Y/N) to try on.
“Yes, Madame,” said (Y/N), putting a strained smile on their face. They were a demon for hell’s sake, and here they were trying to hide from a human woman. (They were forceful when they wanted to be).
Madame Red sighed at the red dress in her hands before tossing it to the side. “I think you’d look darling in red, but I suppose we shouldn’t both be in red or Lord Druitt wouldn’t no which of us to look at!” She laughed gaily as she walked out of the room, leaving (Y/N) to put on the black ballgown.
(Y/N) turned to the corset first and stretched out their arms. Sure, they could put it on and tighten it on their own (what type of demon would they be if they couldn’t?) but it was going to hurt for a moment.
A knock sounded at the door. (Y/N) opened it, only their apron removed. It was Sebastian.
            “Sebastian,” said (Y/N), blinking.
Sebastian gave them his usual closed-eye smile. “I have finished assisting the Young Master with his…dress. I have come to offer my assistance to you.”
(Y/N) smothered an amused chuckle at how he kept up the act in front of them. “You know I can handle it myself.”
Sebastian smirked. “And yet I also know you often complain about the contortion required of you.”
(Y/N)’s nose twitched. Sebastian knew them a little too well. Still, they weren’t sure how they’d handle him seeing them…undressed. It had nothing to do with their current form (they were a demon, of course they were attractive), but idea of Sebastian seeing them in such a state sent a shiver down their spine that was one part anticipatory and the other part dread.
“Can you still work blindfolded?” asked (Y/N).
            “Of course,” said Sebastian.
(Y/N) considered. They could handle that. Right. And maybe getting a little bit of…whatever it is they wanted from Sebastian would clear the issue up. “Very well.” They stepped to the side and let Sebastian step in.
The door closed, and Sebastian flourished a blindfold from his pocket. He tied it smoothly around his head. Once (Y/N) was certain he’d finished, they removed their maid’s uniform, letting it drop to the floor. They were swift to put on a shift, and then they picked up the corset and set it around their middle.
“I’m ready for the corset,” said (Y/N) in the silence.
In the mirror, Sebastian’s reflection stepped up behind them. The blindfold kept him from actually looking, but he maneuvered as easily as when he had sight. Sebastian’s hands landed on (Y/N) waist, and there was a minuscule hitch to their breath as they felt his gloved hands.
Sebastian expertly fought back a smirk at their reaction before attempting to block out the satisfaction he’d felt at eliciting to the sound. He couldn’t help himself from trailing up their waist as if searching for the ribbons to tighten the corset, though. Sebastian smoothly tightened the corset, and before he let go, his hands lingered, smoothing around (Y/N)’s waist. For a single moment, Sebastian allowed himself to consider what it would be like without his gloves or the corset and shift in the way.
Sebastian stepped back. That was a new thought about (Y/N).
“I’ll leave you to finish dressing,” said Sebastian, turning and leaving. As soon as the door shut, he pulled off the blindfold, and his eyes flashed. His attachment to the younger demon was more deeply rooted than he had realized.
Inside their room, (Y/N) stood in front of the mirror. Their hands moved to their waist where Sebastian’s hands had lingered. There was no warmth for Sebastian to leave there, being a demon, but that didn’t stop the tingle beneath the corset as (Y/N) traced over the spot. They shook their head.
This was foolish. (Y/N) needed to control their thoughts. This was just their attachment to and respect for Sebastian running a little too wild after not seeing him in a few centuries and now spending quite a bit of time with him. It would fade quickly.
l
(Y/N) pulled their long black gloves up tightly before stepping out of the carriage. Sebastian, hair slicked back and sporting spectacles, took their hand to guide them down. (Y/N) smoothed their gown down before walking up into Viscount Druitt’s ball. Eyes followed them, but (Y/N) paid them no attention. They were there to do a job.
“First, we must find the viscount,” said Sebastian, standing beside his “charges.”
Ciel, fighting not to fidget with his wig or pink dress, shivered. “The last thing in the world I’d want is for Elizabeth to see me like this…Thank goodness she’s not here.”
“Ah! That dress is so pretty!” came an excited remark. (Y/N), Ciel, and Sebastian froze and whirled in alarm. Elizabeth was at the ball. “There are so many people in lovely dresses! They’re all so cute!”
Ciel began to panic (very entertaining). The mortification he would experience if he was caught…He could hardly bear to think of it.
“Young Ma—Mistress,” said Sebastian. “Please calm down.”
“Let’s escape while we still can,” said (Y/N), and the three tried to step away. Keyword: tried.
“You, in the pink and black dresses! You look so cute!” said Elizabeth excitedly.
“Over here, for a moment,” said Sebastian, guiding Ciel, whose entire face was blank.
“This is a problem,” said (Y/N) as the three hid amongst the crowd while Elizabeth searched.
“If it was revealed that the head of the Phantomhive household had dressed up like this…” Ciel swallowed hard.
“It would be an embarrassment to future generations of the Phantomhive as well, would it not?” said Sebastian.
(Y/N) nodded grimly. “Dishonor on the entire family.”
“Let’s move towards Madame Red and the others,” said Ciel hastily.
Madame Red, however, was already lounging at the edge of the room with a dozen men around her. An irk mark appeared on Ciel’s forehead.
            “She’s enjoying herself…” he muttered.
“Viscount Druitt is as refined today as always,” said a young woman.
Ciel, (Y/N), and Sebastian perked up.
“His platinum-blonde hair is like gold,” sighed another woman.
They looked around and saw several women gazing at the man in question, dressed all in white.
            “That’s Viscount Druitt,” confirmed Sebastian.
“I take it we’re going to ‘accidentally’ bump into him?” said (Y/N).
“Precisely,” said Sebastian, holding out his arms.
Ciel took one, and (Y/N) took the other as they walked around the edge of the ballroom as couples danced and chatted. Sebastian elegantly maneuvered them so that as a couple spun to close, their “avoidance” of the pair caused (Y/N) to “stumble” in front of Druitt.
(Y/N) allowed Druitt to “catch” them and guide them to their feet before smiling with wide, innocent eyes. “Why, thank you, my Lord,” they said, putting a “shy” hand to their face to hide their “blush.”
Druitt smirked and kissed (Y/N)’s gloved hand. “For a beauty such as yourself, it is no issue.” His eyes traveled the length of (Y/N)’s body as they stood before him. “And now that you have recovered, I can see your true elegance and grace, as ethereal as a raven in flight.”
Raven, huh? (Y/N) glanced at Sebastian with a smirk before returning to Druitt. “Thank you, my Lord.” They smiled. “Oh, I’ve been so heard. Allow me to introduce my sister.” (Y/N) calmly stepped to the side to gesture to Ciel, who paled.
“A-ah, good evening, Viscount Druitt…” said Ciel.
“Hello, my lovely robin,” said Druitt, bowing once more.
“My dear,” said Sebastian, stepping up behind (Y/N). “If I may steal you for a drink? I believe that may calm your nerves after your fall.”
(Y/N), interpreting this as the way to get Ciel alone with Druitt since that was the whole point of bait (and they couldn’t play the helpless human part quite right since they were neither of those things), nodded. “Yes, thank you. Good evening, Viscount Druitt.”
“Good evening, my lovely raven. If you’ll save a dance for me, I shall find you soon,” said Druitt.
(Y/N) smiled. “Of course, my Lord.” Not even if you offered me your soul.
“We can watch for issues from the dancefloor,” said Sebastian, his hand on the small of (Y/N)’s back as he escorted them through the room. He smirked at (Y/N). “We just have to ensure that he doesn’t get distracted from the ‘robin’ due to the ‘raven.’ ”
(Y/N) let out a light laugh. “Are you referring to yourself or me since apparently I’m your motif now?”
“Which do you think is more distracting? You or me?” said Sebastian as he took (Y/N)’s hand and drew them onto the dance floor.
(Y/N) watched Sebastian’s eyes flick over them. Something twisted within them pleasantly. “Considering I’m the one in the dress, I’d assume me, but with a man like that his tastes could lie everywhere.”
Sebastian spun (Y/N) around in time with the music, him moving with the grace of a soaring raven, them swaying with the elegance of a cat. Though, Sebastian wasn’t against Druitt’s comparison of (Y/N) to a raven. There was something satisfying at the idea of (Y/N) and his motif being entwined. Even if Sebastian did like cats more. But, then again, (Y/N) also had that.
“True. Mortals are such strange beings,” said Sebastian.
(Y/N) chuckled and smirked. “All the better for us. If they weren’t so odd, they wouldn’t need to call on us.” They drew close with Sebastian in time with the music. “Though I suppose they also have one another. It is the only advantage to being human I can think of. There are so many of them that they can often find some company, if only for their brief little times on this plane.”
Sebastian’s hand smoothed down their back and waist as he continued the dance. “Are these observations from your own time as one?”
(Y/N) considered as they bent back before drawing back up to Sebastian. “Perhaps. We are much more solitary than humans, and that was an adjustment.” They grinned at Sebastian playfully. “I am fortunate that you taught me. It is nice to have someone to look forward to seeing every few hundred years.”
Sebastian’s grip on (Y/N)’s waist tightened. Every non-demonic word they spoke was frustrating as it hit true at his own attachment to them. “Yes. I suppose it is.” The words were out before he quieted them.
(Y/N)’s smirk grew wider, and their dead heart twisted. Before they could speak, though, they caught a movement. “Sebastian. Elizabeth has caught sight of Ciel.”
Sebastian’s gaze broke from (Y/N) to see Elizabeth hurrying around the edge of the ballroom. On the other side, Druitt and Ciel were standing close. Ciel was close to succeeding.
“Then we shall become a true distraction,” said Sebastian.
Both his hands went to (Y/N)’s waist. They nodded, and Sebastian lifted them into the air, successfully stealing the show as the other couples and nobles in attendance watched the sudden professional performance. (Y/N)’s hands stretched out above them as Sebastian effortlessly spun them through the air. As watchers clapped, Sebastian lowered (Y/N) slightly, letting them do a backbend over his shoulder as he continued to support them. The music swelled once more, and as it came to a close, Sebastian “dropped” (Y/N). The people gasped, but (Y/N) calmly fell until Sebastian dropped to a knee and caught them in a dramatic dip. They smirked at one another, faces close, as the audience clapped for them.
Even Madame Red was applauding excitedly, and she knew that her nephew’s maid and butler were strangely talented. The most exuberant watcher, though, was Grell, whose whole face had turned red, and he had watched with his hands clasped together in awe as he imagined being in either Sebastian or (Y/N)’s place. He really didn’t care which.
(Y/N) and Sebastian stood and bowed. They had successfully distracted Elizabeth and the rest of the mortals. Behind them, Druitt and Ciel had disappeared. As people shook their hands and gave them congratulations, the demons glanced at once another. They just had to wait for Ciel to call for Sebastian.
Sure enough, a few minutes later, Sebastian straightened as he sensed his Master’s call. “(Y/N).”
They looked at him. “It’s time?”
“Yes. It appears my Master is in a spot of trouble,” said Sebastian, strolling over to a side door.
(Y/N) followed as they stepped through into a small staircase. “We should help him, then.”
Sebastian waved a hand, and in the room below, the candles blew out. He smirked. “We should.”
On the stage, Ciel sat, bound, staring out at the nobles gazing at him. (Y/N)’s nose twitched in distaste. Human traffickers. Foul creatures.
            “Kill them?” asked (Y/N) eagerly.
“Just incapacitate,” said Sebastian. “The Queen will be irritated if so many nobles die during the Young Master’s investigation.”
            (Y/N) sighed. “Fine.”
The demons slipped into the shadows, and as Druitt looked around in the darkness in fear, Ciel calmly sat while waiting for Sebastian to finish. The sounds of cries and screams as creatures came from the shadows to knock the nobles to the ground caused Druitt to gasp and stumble back.
The candles flared brightly once more with more…well, hellfire heat, and Druitt’s eyes widened. All of his buyers lay incapacitated on the floor.
“Boo,” said (Y/N) playfully behind him.
Druitt cried out and went to turn towards them, but he was knocked out and on the floor before he had another thought, and (Y/N) looked down at him in satisfaction.
“My, my,” said Sebastian, dusting off his gloves from the minimal effort he’d exerted. “You really have no talent for anything but getting captured, do you?”
“As long as we have a contract, whenever I call you, no matter where you are, you will find me,” said Ciel.
“The contract proof is a mark demons put on their prey so that they will be able to find them wherever they are,” said Sebastian, stepping onto the stage. “The more obvious the location, the stronger the contract is. In exchange…it becomes impossible to escape from the demon.”
Sebastian’s tone caused a shiver to run down (Y/N)’s spine. It was no longer of fear or apprehension as when they had first learned what it was to be a demon, but of…something else. Sebastian was enjoyable both when he was demonic and when not, but there was something special about his demonic side. Perhaps it was just (Y/N) being a demon that caused that interest, but they couldn’t deny how…satisfying it was to see Sebastian’s demonic side slip out.
Sebastian bent the bars of Ciel’s cage. He smirked at the boy. “Yes. I will follow you, no matter where you go, until the end. Even if this body is destroyed, I will not leave your side. I shall follow you into the depths of Hell.” As he pulled Ciel to his feet, Sebastian’s eyes flicked to (Y/N). “I do not lie.”
l
“Jack the Ripper strikes again,” read Ciel from the newspaper. He gritted his teeth.
“So, it wasn’t the Viscount?” said Madame Red.
Ciel was trembling in anger. (Y/N) and Sebastian exchanged looks. Druitt had been the only human capable of the killings. That only left the inhuman.

Oh Satan....
It's him.. I knew I should've disposed of him when I had the chance.
You looked away from the Viscount and focused your gaze on Ciel as he pondered to himself.
"They're holding some contest? Why is he a judge?" He questioned while everyone except you stared at the angry group of people before you, the Viscount being one of them, though he was too busy admiring the white roses.
"Yes. Wasn't he just arrested for human trafficking? What a naughty man." Lau said from beside you.
You looked down when you noticed Sebastian had moved closer to you, to wear your sides were touching. Your eyebrow twitched and you were about to point it out, but froze when you felt an arm wrap around your waist and pull you, making you mold into a firm chest.
You looked to your right, seeing Undertaker with a smile on his face, his attention on Abberline when he responded. "He was released a few days ago." Abberline said with a scowl.
Ciel frowned. "Must have paid well."
Abberline stepped forward until he was before the mayor. "Excuse me, but this statue is now under the charge of Scotland Yard."
Unfortunately, the Mayor didn't seem very happy to cooperate. "Oh, no! I don't care if you are from Scotland Yard, sir! The frost fair is an event for our citizens. I will not let you disrupt it!"
"Just look at her beauty. Such an exquisitely noble lady. We could never allow her to be violated by anybody." Lord Druitt said as he hugged himself.
Your eyes narrowed at him. "You're certainly one to talk."
The viscount looked back, his eyes locking with yours as he smirked. "If you insist on possessing this lady, you should offer something of equal beauty."
"A well-spoken pronouncement from a true lover of art and beauty! As he says, if you want this statue, win the contest!" The mayor exclaimed.
"There's merit to your argument. The ring belongs to whomever is the winner of the contest. Nice and simple." Ciel agreed.
Abberline looked back at him. "Really, Ciel?"
Ciel looked up at him. "Don't worry, Inspector, I'll get the ring."
Abberline gritted his teeth. "But it's stolen property! Not to mention the fact that it's our key evidence in serial kidnappings of young girl—Ah!" He covered his mother with his eyes wide in realization of what he just revealed.
Ciel smiled. "I see, that's why the Yard is frantic to find it."
Abberline went back to frowning. "The legend is true; every person who has owned the ring has met a horrible end! It's a cursed stone, and you still try to win it?"
This only made Ciel's smile turn into a smirk. "Cursed, eh?" He looked down at his father's ring. "Then it sounds like the perfect ring for me."
Undertaker walked forward, which only made you be pulled forward with him as he now placed his arm lazily over your shoulders. "Come to think of it, isn't that family ring you wear set with a pretty blue stone as well, lord?"
Ciel looked up at him. "Yes."
Undertaker smiled. "Perhaps you should be careful. Diamonds are quite hard. Because they're hard, they're also... brittle. If you go too far, you may be shattered as well."
"I'm not concerned." He said before smiling as he raised his thumb to his face to gaze upon his ring. "My body, along with my family ring—" He kissed the diamond, then looked back at Undertaker. "—both have already been shattered and then reborn. I've been through too much to worry about that anymore." You felt your lips turn upwards into a smile by what he said and by glancing at Sebastian, it made his face contort as well.
You looked down at Ciel when he turned around and looked at you and Sebastian. "Win the contest, that's an order!"
Undertaker removed his arm and stepped back as you and Sebastian put your hands over your heart and stomach. "Indeed, young master."
. . .
Hmm, 547.
There were currently 547 people gathered at the foot of the stage you now stood on beside Sebastian amongst the other contestants. You both had fake smiles acting upon false happiness, but what was their excuse? Why do they care about a contest about carving blocks of ice? Does this entertain them?
These were the thoughts that ran through your mind behind the smile on your face as the announcer spoke. "Welcome one and all to the Thames Frost Fair! Now it is time for the traditional ice sculpture contest! You have until 3 p.m. All right. You may begin sculpting!"
Your smile widened. Perhaps this will be entertaining. And there is an interesting topic you would like to base this icy project on.
. . .
*bong* *bong* *bong* The clock rang out as it struck 3. "And now folks, the judging shall commence!"
You glanced around the stage, seeing the men all out of breath as they held up their tools, then at Sebastian, who kept his eyes locked on the audience.
That certainly shows our masculine men of London.
‘It's at least one attractive quality Sebastian bares that no other man does.’
Your eyes widened at your own thoughts. ‘Attractive? Why in the bloody hell would I even think of that word, let alone include Sebastian?’
You closed your eyes in an attempt to block out such vulgar thoughts. ‘What is wrong with you? Focus!’
Flashback...
"Has any other demon ever been so committed towards you? Has your beloved king ever shown such concern?"
You silently growled under your breath. "Shut up."
Sebastian was the only one to hear you and looked at you from the corner of his eye, but you avoided his gaze.
‘Lucifer, why must you do this to me?’
"First up, we have Scotland Yard and Its Merry Men, with their sculpture, "Guardian of London"!" All eyes went to the life size ice sculpture of Sir Arthur, that Abberline and another officer were saluting to, as if it were actually him.
The table of judges frowned at it, including the viscount at the end who shook his head. "Judges' scores!" They all held up their scores. "One, two, one, one, zero! For a total of five points!" You looked back at the sculpture, to see Arthur's head fall off.
"Next team, whose name is All Women's Dresses Should Be Tiny... And their entry!"
A few women gasped as children's eyes were covered from the ice sculpture of a naked Ran Mao, that's womanly parts were being censored by two white sheets, that two blushing men were holding.
You glanced at it with a raised eyebrow.
I mean, did they really have to go into detail? And for hell's sake, carved at least a dress on her!
"For obvious reasons, this ice sculpture has been disqualified."
Lau smiled and tilted his head. "But why?" He asked this while Ran Mao stood beside him, doing the same pose as the sculpture.
"How could you possibly think that was proper to display?!" Ciel snapped at him.
His smile dropped. "You know, when they hide bits like that I think it only makes it more erotic..."
The judges all held up X's, except for Lord Druitt, who held up a 10. Of course, it's not like you expected anything else.
Your gaze dropped to Ciel as he leaned closer into you and Sebastian. "Win this. You can, right?"
You chuckled. "Of course we can."
Without looking at him, Sebastian added on. "You explicitly ordered us to do so, and we exist only to fulfill your orders, my lord."
"And next, from the team known as Queen's Puppy, we have "The Ark of Noah"!"
A large sheet was dropped, revealing a large life size ice replica of Noah's Ark. You heard a chair scrape and looked back at the viscount as he marveled at it.
"What a sculpture! I've never seen it's like! That is art in its highest form!" The mayor exclaimed.
"An amazing piece! Let's see the total scores." The announcer said as he turned to the judges, until your hand shot up.
"One moment." He looked back down at you. "My apologies, but you haven't seen all of the sculpture yet." You looked to Sebastian as he walked over to it and snapped his fingers.
The Ark's roof cracked down the middle and fell apart, revealing 3D sculptures of various animals atop the Ark.
"Wow! They look like living animals!" You heard a man say amongst the audience that stared at it in awe.
"Brilliant! They deliberately made the seam of the roof weak so it would melt and fall apart in time!" The mayor shouted.
"Ah! Ahh! Our ancestor, the brave man who stood fearlessly against the flood of God's wrath: Noah! He is depicted here with his wife and child and the pairs of animals he was ordered to rescue, awaiting rebirth from the sea." The viscount dramatically said in a love-like trance.
"Astounding work, young man and young lady! It's high art! I declare the both of you ice sculptors of the highest caliber." The mayor announced.
You both looked up at him. "No, sir. You're too kind. We are simply one hell of a maid and butler." Sebastian said as he placed his hand on his heart.
"Is everyone ready for the final scores?"
"Hold it right there!" You all looked over at the queen’s ice sculpture where a man stood, pointing a gun towards the audience. "Hate to break up the party, but this ring is ours. We're taking what belongs to us."
"Hold on. That means you're the..." Abberline drifted off as the man smirked.
"That's right. We're the team of thieves all of London's been talking about. Maybe you'll recognize these." He pulled back his coat to reveal several sticks of dynamite strapped to his abdomen.
You rose an eyebrow. "Well that is very idiotic. I believe that is taking the term 'self destructive' to a more literal meaning than necessary."
Behind him, two other men knocked over a barrel, more sticks of dynamite spilling from it. The man grinned and held up a lighter, flicking on the flame. "You have ten seconds! Anyone who doesn't want to die should get the hell out of here."
"Ten!" The entire crowd of people ran from the area, all except Abberline, Ciel, and his faithful hellish servants.
You gave a closed eyed smile. "Well, this was certainly a dramatic turn of events, wasn't it?"
"Master." Sebastian called.
"Nine!"
"My orders remain the same. Do it now." Ciel ordered.
You both smiled and bowed. "Indeed, young master." You said, before you both disappeared from sight.
"Eight!"
Abberline looked back, seeing Ciel still standing there alone. "What are you doing?! Hurry up, we need to get out of here!"
"Seven!"
Ciel looked back at him. "You can go if you want to. Don't worry, I'll be fine."
"Six!"
Abberline gritted his teeth. "I can't leave you here!" Ciel looked back at him in surprise. "I joined Scotland Yard to protect our citizens!"
"Five!"
"That includes noblemen like you, Ciel!" He yelled, before he began to run towards Ciel.
"Four!"
Ciel smirked as he watched him. "What a fool."
He nearly got close to the man at the statue, before the man shot at his feet, stopping him. "Stay back, Inspector." The man turned to Ciel with his gun now to him. "You only have three seconds left. A sweet little boy like you, shouldn't you be running away?"
Ciel only stared at him. "I see no need for that. Look behind you."
His eyes widened, right before the gun was knocked out of his hand by Sebastian, who had jumped over him and kicked it with his ice skates. "What the?!"
Sebastian landed on the ice and skated around the statue as the men fired their guns at him. He jumped up and did a quadruple spin mid air.
"Impossible! He spun four whole times in the air!" The mayor exclaimed.
"A noble swan flying through a world of silvery-white snow! Lured by that devilish smile, the maiden is enfolded in his midnight black wings." Ciel visibly shuddered from the viscount's words.
As Sebastian skated by the Judge's table and knocked out the two men who had been shooting at him, the judges held up their scores. "Ten, ten, ten, ten, ten! That's it, a perfect score!"
Ciel was now smirking at the man, who was pulling out a dynamite stick and lit his lighter. "Damn you... little brat! I'm gonna blow you away!" Ciel's smirked dropped as the lit dynamite was hurled towards him.
But, before it landed, he was swept away by you as you held him above your head with one arm and skated away with a smile.
The man shielded his eyes as the stick landed and the ice exploded. "Another one?! I hate these people!" He angrily said as he lit several dynamite sticks and threw them towards you, but you managed to gracefully skate away from them, leaving a trail of explosions behind you.
"Please, Boss, stop doing that! Have you forgotten?! Look down! We're standing on top of ice!" His men said as they looked upon the now cracked ice that would break any second.
Haha. Idiot.
Ciel gasped and looked down at you as you continued to hold him up. "Y/N!"
You dropped your hand and grabbed onto his arms, swinging him around a few times, before letting go. He shrieked as he soared through the air, all while you gave him an amused smile as Sebastian caught him from where he stood.
The ice atop the river cracked, sending the thieves below the freezing depths, leaving a foggy cloud of ice.
Abberline looked upon the fog, but couldn't spot anything or anyone. "Where is he?" He questioned.
Lau smiled as he stood next to him. "My lord is stubborn as ever."
Abberline's eyes widened as the shadow of the Noah's Ark sculpture cane into view, with Ciel on top of it and his Maid and Butler standing behind him.
Lord Druitt outstretched his arms. "The ship sails on, leaving human despair behind! The ship sails on, carrying the future of the world! The ship sails on, despite the raging flood of icy waters seeking to drown it! ♪ The ship sails on! ♪"
Tears pricked the mayor's eyes as he stared at it. "It's the Ark! Truly a recreation of Noah's Ark! We've seen a miracle on the Thames!"
Ciel looked back at you with a frown. "Was tossing me about like that really necessary?"
You smiled. "My apologies, sir. But we did have an audience after all. I thought it might add a bit of a flair to the show."
His eye twitched, before he averted his gaze down at the river, where the queen ice sculpture was sinking, and the hope peace still on her finger. "The Hope Diamond will sleep safely at the bottom of the Thames...Not a bad end."
"But won't it curse all of London now?" Sebastian questioned.
"Somehow I doubt that will happen. Besides, if a ring can destroy the city, it wasn't meant to survive." He looked at his ring.
"After all, we Phantomhives have lived on..." He looked across the river at Abberline, who was kneeling down, helping one of the thieves out of the water.
"Grab my hand, I've got you!" He said as he reached out to him.
"Tell me something, Y/N." Ciel began as he watched him. "Earlier, you had accused Noah of being arrogant, but he was only trying to save a few. Wouldn't the desire to protect everyone be even more arrogant?"
You thought for a second, then looked ahead at Abberline. "Yes, it would seem so."
A small smile curved at Ciel's lips. "Ah well, an arrogant fool like that every now and then might not be so bad."
Once Abberline had pulled the bandits from the water, he looked up and stared at Ciel and his servants as they stood atop the sculpture. "Ciel... Who exactly are you?"
. . .
*sigh* ‘What am I doing? My work here is complete, so why? Why am I still here?’
You stared at the blood red ring upon your finger as your other naked hand mindlessly scraped against the roof of the manor. You started to think back to what Sebastian said on your first night with him...
Flashback...
He leaned down to your ear. "That is because they took place in his kingdom, but here you are vulnerable. Unlike all others, I will succeed, it is only a matter of time." He whispered.
‘He was right. Here, there are no guards, no king to have his hold on me. Damn you...why? Why did you make me come back? You bastard! Why?!’
You clenched your fist and looked away, down from where you were crouched, you glanced at the balcony of Ciel's study, where he sat at his desk with his chin his hand.
Flashback...
He sighed. "I would very much like if you would keep this from Ciel, not only as my servant, but as my friend. Please...will you do me this one favor... as my friend?"'
‘Oh... That's why.’ You laughed to yourself. "You really were full of surprises, weren't you master? To think you would go as far as to ask a demon from hell for a favor..."
You continued to watch Ciel, until he stood up and walked out of your view, the room's light going out a few seconds after.
You looked back at your ring and sighed as you closed your eyes.
‘Vincent...look what you've done to me.’
Silence filled the area, and for once you felt...relaxed.
