10 Advantages of Hiring a Virtual Assistant for Your Company
Tumblr media
There is no secret at all that the virtual assistant is in the limelight from the past few years.
But what is a virtual assistant? And why should a company hire a virtual assistant? Or what are the benefits of a virtual assistant?
If you also have the same questions, then you are in the right place. Through the help of this article, we are going to explore the definition and benefits of a virtual assistant.
So, let’s start…..
What is a Virtual Assistant?
Source:freepik
A virtual assistant is one type of employee who supplies the chain of services to the business remotely. As the technologies are growing continuously as a result in the year, 1990 maximum number of homes brought the internet. And, companies started believing that they don’t need to bring employees to the office to complete their task.
Everything can be managed virtually from recruitment marketing to interview scheduling and from managing events to personal errands. Thus, with the help of virtual, companies can do almost anything.
10 Benefits of Hiring a Virtual Assistant So, why to hire a virtual assistant? Or are there any benefits of hiring a virtual assistant?
Under this section, we will explore the benefits of hiring a virtual assistant. And these benefits make you believe why you should hire an assistant.
1: Cost saving
A virtual assistant is less expensive to hire compared to permanent employees. Because the virtual assistant is an independent worker, thus, they bear their own expenses, namely taxes and insurance. The employer just needs to pay for their work.
2: Increase productivity
Typically, employees are maximally productive only for 3 hours in the 8 hours working day. Then why should companies hire another virtual employee if he/she is going to do the same?
The virtual assistant works differently like without any office distraction. Hence, they are more dedicated and focus toward their work.
3: Improve work quality
The primary purpose of VA(virtual assistant) is to supply high quality of work. Because they are self-employed and to continue the work with the client, they have to satisfied the requirement of the client.
4: Save your time
Employers are able to save their maximum amount of time by assigning some of the internal tasks like answering the email, and phone calls to the virtual assistant. If the project is large, then it is not possible for the employer to give equal time to each section. Thus, by hiring a VA, the leader and employee can focus on the core functionality of the business.
5: Provide expertise in their field
A virtual assistant holds expertise in their field. And, broadly offer the services in which they have many years of experience. Therefore, when you hire a virtual assistant, you are actually opening the company door for expertises.

So I waste a lot of time watching youtube videos about shitty cryptogames. For those who have better uses of their time than I do and don't understand how cryptogames work and why there's six billion of them, let me explain.
The idea behind your standard cryptogame is that you cobble together some bare-bones crafting game or rpg or something, and you sell the players virtual real estate for real money. It doesn't *have* to be real estate -- sometimes it's NFTs that give you a play advantage or creatures the players use to fight or something -- but it's usually real estate. Cryptobros get in early and buy the virtual real estate while it's 'cheap', with the expectation that when the game really takes off, they can sell it for tons of money to other players. The real estate usually offers some in-game advantage (you can build on it, or you get voting rights, or you can tax shop owners on it, or something), but some games don't even bother with that and rely purely on "you bought it so other players will want to buy it from you".
Why does this fail, constantly? Because nobody cares about the actual game. Other games *have* successfully monetised this stuff, but cryptogames never succeed, because almost everyone in these communities are people who are just there to buy crypto stuff with the sole goal of selling that crypto stuff to someone else in the community. The games are never fun enough (or frequently, even playable enough) to bring in a real player base. They serve no purpose, fill no need, and bring in nothing except more cryptobros easily duped out of their money in the hopes of duping someone else out of their money. Asking "so why will players be interested in coming to our Virtual Libertarian Empire and making us any money?" or "how will this game make anyone money anyway?" or "when will this game become a game?" gets you kicked from their discords for spreading fear. Of course this game is gonna take off, bro. If it wasn't, would it be expanding so fast at this early stage? Would so many people be eager to buy virtual real estate in it? This is the next big thing in gaming. (Then the creators take the cryptobros' money and ghost them.)
Why am I bringing all this up? I dunno. Every time I see them putting a new AI Virtual Assistant in something I get weirdly reminded of cryptogaming. For... some reason.

Chapter 1:
Warnings: Violence.
Tumblr media
(Image: Dunes by Logan Feliciano. Source: Pinterest)
The dust kicked up every time you jumped to avoid the thrusts of her trident. It was becoming more and more difficult for you to move, with the blood falling down your side, your vision becoming cloudy, your back getting closer and closer to the destroyed foundations of what was once a building, until you were trapped.
Falling onto your knees, you looked up at her red glowing eyes, the two beasts fell to her side, their growl resonating deep within your bones. “I gave you a chance” she sure did, “I wanted us to be friends” her trident fell against your side, only one of the three knives grazing your skin, “But you just had to, right?” tears fell down her eyes, straight into the dirt under her heels.
“I…I underestimated you” you coughed out blood with a smile, “But I'm not dying here” she proved to be more of a challenge. No regrets, but you should’ve picked your fights a bit wiser. “This just can’t go on” she stilled the trident, trying not to deepen the already open wound, “We went through all the trouble of fighting, and you are going to let me live? Are you insane?” you growled annoyed and sore.
In between heavy breaths, she had an idea, “How about a bet?” one that made your lion ears perked up.
“Ten years, you'll work for me in my project, I believe I can manage to convince you to find something good to do with yourself” she ignited a warm yellow flame on her hand, it danced around her palm without hurting her, “What makes you think I will make a bet with you, or a deal for that matter?” you pushed her hand away, “This” she ignited her trident in the yellow flame.
With the blade she cut through your body and took your soul from you, just as easy as cutting butter. “I will kill you!” you yelled, a roar washing over your voice. She limited herself to smile triumphantly, as her eyes relaxed and shifted colors, “Now you kind of screwed, aren’t you?”.
“If I play along with your bullshit, you promise to give me back my soul?” you used the rubble behind you to push yourself onto a standing position, ungracefully so. “I promise” she offered her hand, the flame dancing in between her fingers.
You finally took her hand, the light shifted into a dark hue going up both hers and your arm, the deal sealing itself on your eyes, changing them from red sclera to a black ones, your pupils remaining a white-silver hue.
It was a big relief when the trident wound started to heal with a hiss. “You’re awfully confident” you shrugged, placing your hand over the burning flesh. “Well, we have a long time ahead of us, don’t we?” she took it upon herself to support you on your opposite side, helping you walk away from the debris.
7 years later
When the hotel fell apart you received an order, “Take everything inside and take it to safety” and so you did. All that was pictures, pets, luggage, everything, you gathered it far from the fight, then she told you to stay put until further notice.
You took a walk around, trying to go unnoticed as you were ordered, going into your phone adding a lot of new kitchen supplies into a virtual cart, when a groan made you look towards the Radio Demon’s crashed studio. After taking a hit of Adam’s guitar-axe, you thought it was amazing that he remained alive.
“Princess, Smiley is alive” your connection through your deal was truly an advantage when far away, “Go see if he’s okay, try to stay out of sight, and if he needs assistance, help him” he was obviously not okay, but you had an order, so you made your way across the sulfuric smelling debris, until you reached the door of his studio, pushing it lightly, shadow launched at you, attempting to scare you away, failing terribly.
“I have an order to check if you are, quote unquote 'okay', demon” the shadow smiled and moved away, allowing you in. Shadows painted over your body a veil, which he could not see through, only the silver light your eyes emitted.
You peeked to your right from the door to see Alastor sitting on the floor, back against his desk, trying to hide a big gush on his chest with his hands, “Are you ok?” he shot you a look that you could call a ‘Fuck you’ and a ‘You have to be kidding me’ mix.
“Are you in need of assistance?” again he didn’t answer directly, he just growled making his prongs a lot bigger, “This intimidation skit will not work on me sir, so answer, yes or no” his ears bent down and stayed flat behind his head, “No” he muttered, refusing any help from your part, “Okay then” his shadow opened the door for you, after a small curtsy to the gesture, you moved away from the rubble, the rocks making tiny crushing sounds under your heel.
His shadow caught up with you, mimicking a stop sign with his arm, “What?” then he made a figure with Alastor’s shape, a needle closing up his wound and then the same demon all smiling and walking, “So you want me to patch him up” the shadow nodded, the smile wider and cheery, “What’s in for me? He refused help, why would I go through all that trouble for free?” then he checks-mate you with Charlie’s shape. He threatened to tell on you, “Good try joker, but you ain’t got shit on me”.
“Alright” you heard the plea from the echo that the radio cabin made.
You made your way back to the demon, as soon as he saw you he took a look at his shadow before his prongs grew any bigger, then at you taking off his shirt, he continued growling and making static noises, it became louder with every step.
As you took his coat and shirt off he noticed the tips of your fingers were a burned black color, your hands a much lighter color in contrast, light yellow, he would dare to even call it pastel, but due to the poor light he couldn’t decide on hues.
Your nails were retractable ones, he noticed how you stopped before you touched the fabric of his coat, your nails went back into your fingers and then you proceeded.
“I’ll stitch it up, but that’s all” you took in the raw hatred in his eyes before continuing. “If you shower, avoid extreme temperatures, and apply alcohol near the edges to keep it from infections” you instructed while partially removing his garments, leaving both his dress shirt and coat hanging down his elbows. The shadow provided you with a curved needle and suture thread, a very resistant one at that.
“What the blazes!?” he shrieked when you undid his belt, only to tie his hands behind his back with it, “I don’t want you messing my work up” you explained, making a pop with your mouth at the end.
As the needle went through his skin, you found it weird not hearing a single peep off of him, then you discovered he was biting his lip, to the point it bled down his chin. “If you need to yell, do so, you’ll only hurt yourself if you continue doing that” his ears went back again, like a plea to make the pain go away, at the same time that embarrassment shot against his spine like a lightning. Then he yelled into the opposite side, to avoid receiving another smack.
When you finished closing the large gash, the shadow wrapped it up in bandages, “There you go” you stood up, dusting your knees before turning on your heels. He cleared his throat bitterly to draw your attention to the fact that he was still tied up, only to receive a disinterested giggle and your utter lack of concern.
“I’ve killed pests for less than this attitude you’re insulting me with” he thought that with an implied threat he would get rid of his binds and also get a little sign of fear from you, sadly his magic was weak, and so was the remaining strength he had, so he couldn’t free himself no matter how much he tugged on the leather.
He had a little bit of hope he could induce some authority toward you, but all he got was his hair pulled backwards and the cold steel of an ax pressed against his neck.
He took a couple of seconds to ask himself, how come you were behind him in less than a second? And also swallow the fact that now he was the one being threatened.
“Knowing how to pick your fights, may save your life one day” The edge of the blade made a sharp noise while being dragged up slowly up his neck, stopping under his chin. “You’ve chosen badly twice in a day, and barely walked alive off the first one” you tugged just a little bit harder on his hair, just to place your authority over his will.
“Tell me, are you dumb enough to bite the hand that stitched you, and die because your bruised ego and your big mouth are taking control of your rational thinking?” you couldn’t measure the amount of hate his stare held, but he attentively took your advice at heart, so he relaxed his eyes and his smile turned less demonic, only answering your question with a soft no with his head.
Withdrawing the ax from his neck, you used the point to let the buckle lose without breaking it, allowing the belt to fall down his wrists. “Start picking your fights more wisely, boy, afterlife 101” you mocked while ruffling his hair right in between his ears.
“Now, I don’t think someone will ask, but if they do, we never had this conversation, rep wise” he nodded, “You better-“ his tongue tied on itself, he reckon your face being inches away from his, “Don’t worry, I won’t tell a soul, deer-est” you chuckled at your own wordplay, while all he could do was stare at your eyes.
“Who are you?” You assumed for a long time that hell had already forgotten you, after thirty years without making yourself present, who wouldn't?  Plus, he looked a lot younger than you, he lived on earth at least ten years longer than you, lucky bastard.
“No one” before he could make an attempt to grab your hand, you jumped out the door, disappearing from his sight into the mountain of rubble.
When Alastor made his way back to the new Hotel, he felt tempted to ask around about what he just witnessed, but preferred to keep his mouth shut. He wouldn’t admit in front of the others that the Radio Demon got assisted and handled as a whiny child, so instead he remained the smiley guy he is.
All the rooms got sorted later in the night, with a snap of his fingers everything in the new room looked exactly as it did in the old one. He placed the ruined coat and dress shirt on a chair, resorting to a gray suit he had lying around, “I should start broadcasting” he muttered to himself, making his way to his brand new station situated in the left wing of the Hotel.
After a few hours he came back to his quarters to refresh. He inspected his chest just to reassure himself, his scar had been closed with an almost religious delicacy. It almost felt like lace.
No one would catch the Radio Demon blushing while tracing his wound, but Alastor didn’t mind at the moment.

From the runway to retail, 3D fashion design is pushing boundaries, enabling designers to craft intricate garments with unparalleled precision. Likewise, 3D product design is transforming everything from gadgets to furniture, allowing for rapid prototyping and innovation. As we explore these exciting advancements, platforms like Agartha.ai are leading the charge in harnessing artificial intelligence to streamline the design process and inspire new ideas.
AI design
Artificial intelligence (AI) has revolutionized numerous industries, and the realm of design is no exception. By leveraging the power of machine learning and advanced algorithms, AI is transforming the way designers create, innovate, and deliver their products. AI-driven tools enable designers to harness vast amounts of data, allowing for more informed decision-making and streamlined workflows.
In the context of graphic design, AI can assist artists in generating ideas, creating unique visuals, and even automating repetitive tasks. For instance, programs powered by AI design can analyze trends and consumer preferences, producing designs that resonate with target audiences more effectively than traditional methods. This shift not only enhances creativity but also enables designers to focus on strategic thinking and ideation.
Moreover, AI is facilitating personalized design experiences. With the help of algorithms that analyze user behavior, products can be tailored to meet the specific needs and tastes of individuals. This level of customization fosters deeper connections between brands and consumers, ultimately driving customer satisfaction and loyalty in an increasingly competitive market.
3D fashion design
In recent years, 3D fashion design has revolutionized the way we create and visualize clothing. Using advanced software and tools, designers can create lifelike virtual garments that allow for innovative experimentation without the need for physical fabric. This trend has not only streamlined the design process but has also significantly reduced waste in the fashion industry.
Moreover, 3D fashion design enables designers to showcase their creations in a more interactive manner. By utilizing 3D modeling and rendering technologies, designers can present their collections in virtual environments, making it easier for clients and consumers to appreciate the nuances of each piece. This immersive experience also helps in gathering valuable feedback before producing the final product.
Furthermore, the integration of 3D fashion design with augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) technologies is bringing a fresh perspective to the industry. Consumers can virtually try on clothes from the comfort of their homes, thereby enhancing the shopping experience. As this field continues to evolve, it promises to bridge the gap between creativity and technology, paving the way for a sustainable and forward-thinking fashion future.
3D product design
3D product design has revolutionized the way we conceptualize and create products. With advanced software tools and technologies, designers can now create highly detailed and realistic prototypes that are not only visually appealing but also functional. This process allows for a quicker iteration of ideas, enabling designers to experiment with various styles and functionalities before arriving at the final design.
One of the significant advantages of 3D product design is the ability to visualize products in a virtual environment. Designers can see how their creations would look in real life, which is essential for understanding aesthetics and usability. Additionally, this technology enables manufacturers to identify potential issues in the design phase, reducing costs associated with prototype development and rework.
Moreover, the rise of 3D printing has further enhanced the significance of 3D product design. Designers can swiftly turn their digital models into tangible products, allowing for rapid prototyping and small-batch manufacturing. In the coming days/weeks, you’re going to hear a lot about how Ukraine should accept the terms of surrender (as that’s what they are) offered by Russia—how they’d be “stupid” not to, how Zelenskyy should “do the right thing for his people” and prioritize saving lives, how peace should be the priority and we can’t always get what we want.
Make no mistake: even if Russia intends to uphold these terms once Zelenskyy accepts them, this is a terrible deal for Ukraine and a terrible deal for the world.
First of all, there’s no guarantee that Russia will respect a cease fire or peace treaty. Obviously that’s always the case with war, but it’s especially the case when they’ve already violated multiple cease fire agreements by firing on and murdering evacuating civilians, including children. So there’s your peace treaty.
Second, the terms that Russia has presented include virtually all of Putin’s actual goals for this illegal invasion (obviously “de-Nazification” and “de-militarization” were just lies à la “weapons of mass destruction,” a rhetorical tactic that really ought to be familiar to any self-respecting American leftist). Ukraine would forfeit its claim on the territories Russia has already illegally annexed/recognized, it would be forced to change its constitution (!!!) to commit to never joining any “pacts” (EU, NATO, anything else that forms in the future), and it would retain Zelenskyy as a figurehead while installing a pro-Russian actual government leadership.
This is—and I cannot stress this enough—not a “compromise” or a “peace treaty.” It’s terms of surrender. And the lesson learned here is that Russia can continue invading and terrorizing sovereign states without any actual consequences—remember, Putin doesn’t personally care about Western sanctions. He doesn’t care if his people are plunged into poverty as long as he and his cronies aren’t, and they won’t be. He’s furious about the sanctions because he finds them personally offensive and because they confirm his victim complex, not because he’s legitimately worried for his people like Zelenskyy is.
Third, and perhaps most importantly, Putin has made it extremely clear that he seeks to rebuild a Russian empire. He will not stop with Crimea, Luhansk, and Donetsk. (And make no mistake—Luhansk and Donetsk are not independent sovereign states like Ukraine; they’re simply Russian satellites.) He will not stop with forced regime change in Belorus, Georgia, Syria, and Ukraine. (And even if he did—isn’t that awful enough?) He is not “concerned about Russia’s security” or “worried about NATO’s encroachment” or whatever his extensive social media operation has you believing. He’s not concerned or worried about anything. He’s a dictator expanding his empire. He is exactly what you all feared Trump was.
I believe that this “offer” from Russia to Ukraine serves two purposes, and neither of them is to establish a lasting peace and autonomy for each country. One is to give Putin a potential way to back out of a war that has already gone much worse than he expected and cost him significantly in terms of personnel and equipment. (Not the sanctions—like I said, I don’t think he personally cares about the sanctions and in fact sees them as a political tool to use to his advantage.)
The second and more important goal is to create a way for the international community to blame Ukraine for the continued war. “If you’d just accept the terms, you could save your people and prevent nuclear war.” It’s absolutely classic DARVO tactics that, again, any progressive activist should be familiar with. “Sure, it’s not your fault he attacked you, but you shouldn’t have reported it, made a big deal of it, gotten him ‘cancelled,’ made it public, etc.”
It’s not Ukraine’s responsibility to “prevent nuclear war.” Ukraine gave up its nuclear weapons in exchange for protection—protection that it has not received, although Western aid and military assistance has undoubtedly been helpful. Placing responsibility on Ukraine to accept unjust terms and illegal annexation of its land in order to “prevent nuclear war” only lends credence to the claim that only nuclear weapons can keep a country truly safe—after all, it would mean that Putin’s nuclear threats have allowed him to invade his neighbors, terrorize their citizens, destroy their resources, replace their democratically elected leaders with his own puppets, and steal their land—without even having to make any concessions himself.
So here’s my plea to my American progressive/leftist siblings. Please question what you think you know about Putin, Russia, and Ukraine. There are certainly far-right and neo-Nazi political forces in Ukraine as there are in any country, but Zelenskyy is a progressive, democratically elected JEWISH president. NATO and the EU have their (serious) issues, but they have not pressured or forced any former Soviet states to join—in fact, prior to this war, it seemed unlikely that Ukraine would be admitted. Ukraine WANTED to join to protect itself from Russia, which had already illegally annexed its land, empowered far-right groups within its borders, and forced regime changes in surrounding countries.
Putin is not an anti-imperialist revolutionary; he denounces American imperialism because it’s convenient for him politically and it keeps the American left from putting pressure on our government to divest from Russia. Sure, maybe the Democrats oversold Russian election hacking as an explanation for Trump’s win (although the more I learn about the extent of Russia’s disinfo campaign, the more I question this common leftist talking point), but that doesn’t mean that Putin isn’t bent on conquering Eastern Europe and subduing Western powers by any means necessary. This goes far beyond American electoral politics, and the answers here do not conform to American party lines. Do not fall into the trap of dismissing politicians’ statements about Putin and Russia just because you disagree with the rest of their stances.
Putin is a dictator. Sometimes it really is that simple. A former KGB agent, he came to power by staging the modern Russian version of the Reichstag fire (look up “Russian apartment bombings”), using that as an excuse to start a war and win it, and he has maintained his power through strong-arming and terror. The State Duma is entirely symbolic at this point; anyone who goes against Putin knows that they are likely not only to die, but to die horribly, just like Alexei Navalny almost did not long ago (look up “Novichok” and prepare yourself for some body horror).
I could go on. I won’t right now. But in truth, I deeply regret the fact that I haven’t done more over the past 8 or so years to disrupt the blatant Putinist propaganda I hear from a lot of my fellow progressives. I had other priorities and I didn’t give it the attention I should’ve. To be clear: nothing America or American progressives could’ve done would’ve stopped this war, only delayed it or hastened it. The war was inevitable because Putin wants to conquer Ukraine, and beyond.
So I’ll just say—please, please listen to people who fled Russia/the Soviet Union, and to experts who study Russia. The most likely threat here isn’t a nuclear WWIII; this isn’t about you. The thing people like me fear most is simply that Putin will continue subjugating, terrorizing, and ultimately conquering innocent citizens of sovereign states, and that the West will eventually just accept this as the price of nuclear deterrence.
I’m not a political scientist; I don’t know how to stop this war. All I know is that Ukrainian surrender isn’t it. Listen to Ukrainians, anti-Putin Russians, and other experts, form your own opinion, and most importantly, keep your wits about you. Not everyone in this world is a good faith negotiating partner. Some people are, unfortunately, just evil. Hitler was, Stalin was, Putin is.

Something i been curious. If the DR96 were to pick their own talents, what talents would they pick?
Altenately if the DR69 cast was given actual talents instead of choosing one, what would their talents actually be?
I feel like some of the talents would be the same both ways, but I'll highlight the main changes.
DR69 -> assigned talents:
Luigi - Ult. Ghost Hunter
Peter -> Ult. Brewer (by that I mean beer, I couldn't really think of a specific major talent Peter has lol)
Teto -> Ult. Internet Diva (this could work alongside Miku's talent of Ult. Virtual Diva as while Miku gets worldwide concerts, most of Teto's fame stays online)
Nagito -> Ult. Lucky Student (forced to be assigned base talent forever curse)
Fluttershy -> Ult. Kindness could still work, but since it's a bit vague the idea of Ult. Animal Caretaker would fit better if she was bestowed such by a company
Ayano -> Ult. Honor Student (I feel like this is the best thing after Yandere because she can play herself up as a good student to best rivals, and she does have a lot of knowledge in academics and sports she uses to her advantage. It's also a good cover up for her true nature)
DR96 -> self-assigned talents:
Hayasaka -> he'd basically keep his talent the same apart from changing the name to Ult. Salaryman because it'd feel nicer to him
Jesse -> I could see him keeping Ult. Woodworker, but he'd also think Ult. Lab Assistant would make him sound cool
Saiki -> He'd literally take anything that wasn't Ult. Psychic, so probably something like Ult. Coffee Jelly Enthusiast lol
Kaidou -> Here comes the return of the Ult. Warrior: Judgement Knights of Thunder (but for real this time)
Retsuko -> To hide her heavy metal, she'd prefer to be called the Ult. Accountant
Natsuki -> Natsuki grabs hold of Ult. Baker and dosesn't gaf if Mai already picked it
Brian -> I mentioned this in a post before, but as Brian would more-so liked to be called anything but a witch hunter, he'd go for Ult. Crafter in line with his hobby of crafts

☕︎⋆˙⟡♡☕ LEVI ☕︎⋆˙⟡♡☕
It's been a few days since our little incident. I didn't want to come off as obsessive, which I may or may not be, but I knew if I wanted this to last and bloom I needed to give her space to continue to be her own person.
"Mr. Ackerman, I've meal prepped for you for the next week and there's a load of laundry going." My housekeeper, Daisy, says as she fixes her apron. "Is there anything else you need me to do?"
"No, thanks Daisy." I nod for her to dismiss as I walk through my mansion.
Honestly, I'm not sure why I have a housekeeper. No one cleans like I do. I guess I keep her around for the cooking since I'm shit at that. Cleaning has always relieved my stress and makes me forget where I am in the world.
I didn't start off as a millionaire, almost billionaire. I started at the very bottom, with my mother.
We used to live in homeless shelters and sometimes strangers couches, until she fell ill because of our living circumstances. I watched my mother wither away in front of me, like a rose.
"Levi, promise me you will be something." I remember she said to me as she was taking her last few breaths. "Mommy will always watch over you."
Then she was gone.
Social services picked me up after that and I went to live with my aunt and uncle. They lived comfortably in middle class with no kids - lucky me.
I'd like to think mom would be happy with how far I've come.
☕︎⋆˙⟡♡☕
"Levi, your new assistant starts today. Don't run her off, please." Hange gives a pleading look. "She's nice."
"Nice and competent are two separate things." I continue to jot down notes from a contract I'm reading.
"Levi, this is Juliet. Your assistant." Hange walked into my office with, who I'm assuming is Juliet. She's young, with long blonde hair and brown eyes. Conventionally attractive.
"Nice to meet you Mr. Ackerman. What do you need me to do first? Do you want me to get you coffee?"
"I don't drink coffee. I drink tea. And I get that myself." I look up from my desk. "Hange, have her go over my schedule for meetings next week and make sure everything is in order."
"Sure thing boss." Hange left with Juliet, closing my door gently behind them. I have a therapy appointment today, thankfully it's virtual. I open my laptop and sign into the portal to initiate the meeting.
"Levi! You look good!" My therapist, Maria, smiles.
"Thank you. The camera probably smooths out my skin."
"So, tell me about your week. What are you feeling, what's going on, all that jazz."
"I punched a guy in the face last week."
"Levi! What did we talk about with your anger?"
"I did think it over. I thought before I punched, and after. I don't regret it."
Maria shook her head, bringing her glasses to the bridge of her nose. "Ay dios mio, you make my job so hard sometimes."
"That's why you get paid the big bucks, right?" I let out a rare chuckle.
"Why did you do that?"
Because he was touching whats mine.
"I thought he was going to take advantage of someone."
"Who's this someone?"
"I don't want to tell you about her yet. Then that means its serious."
"You punched a man because of her, that's not serious enough?"
"No. It's not. I'm 30 years old, Maria. I've never had a real relationship so I'm navigating it the only way I know how."
"Levi, she is not your mother. You can't treat her like she is a fragile human being. She has feelings, like you, and she is her own person. Does she want to be serious?"
"I'm not sure. We're ... dating? I guess that's different from being in a relationship."
"Ah, taking things slow. I see. Well, tell me about her."
"She works at my favorite coffee shop that I go to every day before work. Except I get tea. Anyways, I've seen her almost every day for 6 months and I've had long and short conversations with her. Only recently have we started seeing each other."
"And what are you scared of?" Maria's question stumped me.
I'm scared of everything.
I'm scared of losing her. I'm scared of losing what I have. I'm scared of starting a family only to have it ripped from me.
"Levi?" Maria snapped me out of my thoughts.
"I'm scared of, a lot. My feelings scare me. I feel, protective over her. I feel like I want to savor every moment we're together. I'm also scared she's going to run off once she truly sees my life."
I'm rich, like, filthy rich. She works hard for her money, lives alone, and has dreams of opening her own coffee shop. Which I can help with.
She's used to doing everything for herself. She doesn't have a housekeeper, a chef, none of that. She cooks, cleans, and does everything herself.
Everything I want in a woman is in her.
"You can't go around anticipating people leaving." Maria tapped her pen on her notebook. "You know what I say, everything happens for a reason. There's a reason you connected with her and there's a reason you feel the way you do about her. I don't think it would hurt to explore those feelings more."
After your therapy session, I decide I'm inviting her over for the first time. I want her to see how I am, in my house, and I want to observe how she is.
Me: Are you busy tonight?
Her: If by busy you mean I have a date with a pint of coffee ice cream and Grey's Anatomy, then yes.
Me: Would you like to do that here?
Her: Here is where?
She's gonna make me work for this.
Me: Here as in my house. I'll pick you up at 7.

After getting ready for Levi's, you take a look at yourself in the mirror. Your outfit consists of leggings, crew socks, sneakers, a low cut tank top and a zip up hoodie. You can't lie, part of you wants Levi to continue what he started at your place last week. The other part of you is scared shitless to go to his mansion.
At 7 PM sharp, you hear tires roll in front of your place. By the time you lock your doors, Levi is waiting outside the passenger door for you. He kisses your cheek before letting you in the car, scanning your body.
You study the drive from your place to his - about 20 minutes. Levi lives in a rich, residential area with plenty of land to spare.
Walking into his home, it's spotless. Like, actually spotless. No dust anywhere, nothing is out of place, even the remotes on his coffee table.
"I bought some coffee ice cream and I have Netflix set up for that show already - Grey's what?"
"Grey's Anatomy. You're watching it with me?"
"I was serious when I asked you if you wanted to do that here. Can we start from the 1st episode?" Levi grabbed 2 spoons and the pint of ice cream.
"Sure." You walk over to the couch, which looks like a cloud, and sink your body into it. So this is what it's like to have money.
Levi pressed play, opening the pint. He plunged his spoon into the ice cream as neatly as he could, bringing it to your lips.
You open your mouth slowly, letting him insert the spoon into your mouth. You stare at his eyes as you lick the spoon, getting lost in the clouds that live in his eyes. He pulled the spoon out of your mouth, taking a scoop for himself.
Levi had coffee ice cream residue on his bottom lip, which he quickly licked away. You stared at his chiseled jawline as he watched the show, his eyes moving back and forth with the scenes.
Eventually Levi put the ice cream away, knowing we would eat it again later. As he sat down next to you again, you couldn't help but notice a bulge in his pants.
We meet again.
Levi put his arm around the back of the couch, leaning back so his chest was stretched out. You could see his collarbone peeking out of his shirt, along with his sculpted muscles.
"You're not even watching, brat." Levi interrupted your daydream.
"I'm watching something else." You turn your body toward him. "It's much more interesting."
"What do you mean? I think it's ok so far -" Levi directs his attention back on the tv, getting lost in the plot.
You took advantage of this moment and unzipped your hoodie a bit, exposing your cleavage. He didn't seem to notice, but he will soon.
You slide into him, making sure he can feel your body against his. He looks down at you through his jet black locks, seemingly by surprise.
"What-"
"Shhhh." You press your finger to his lips, pulling your leg over his lap so you're straddling him. "You can't talk until I'm done. I mean it. Not a word." When did you suddenly get bold?
Levi's erection was more prominent now, pulsing against your thigh. You trail kisses down his face, neck, chest, and eventually you snake down to your knees, in front of his belt buckle.
You look up at Levi, who's mouth is open like he wants to say something.
"Remember the rules, Mr. Ackerman." You wiggle your finger, unbuckling his belt. "Not a word until I'm done."
His belt slid off with ease, as you pulled his slacks down to his ankles. His dick print through his boxer briefs startled you, but you're not gonna stop now. You spread his legs, pushing yourself in between them.
You drag your fingertips down his stomach to his pelvic region, tracing the 'V' line gently. You glanced to look at Levi, who's eyes were dead set on you.
His underwear came off, and his dick slapped his abs. Your eyes grew wide from his size, knowing you might have bit off more than you can chew.
You take one hand and start pumping his dick slowly, brushing your thumb over the tip. Pre-cum leaked from the slit, motivating you to pump harder.
You take some of the pre-cum from your finger and slid it into your mouth with a 'pop' sound. Levi groans, letting his head fall back.
You bring your lips to his tip, sucking it gently while pumping his shaft. You could not take all of him in yet, but you will. Your other hand starts massaging his balls, which hitched his breath. Your tongue caressed every vein in his dick, paying special attention to the tip.
Levi finally put one of his hands in your hair, directing you on his dick. You took more and more of him in, eventually hitting your gang reflex, but you didn't care. The look on Levi's face is worth it. He whimpers as your tongue cascades along his length, the sounds alone causing him to almost overstimulate.
Levi moaned your name before you felt his dick start pulsating in your mouth and his hand pulled your hair roughly. "Where do you want me to cum?" Levi said with short breaths.
"In my mouth."
It was less of a mess that way.
That must have sent Levi over the edge. He unleashed his load in your mouth, holding your hair tightly.
You snake your body up to his face and smile, swallowing his load.
"Fuck." Levi caught his breath, kissing your lips gently. "My turn." Levi pulled you onto the couch, laying you down horizontally. "But you can be as loud as you want."
Levi slid your leggings off, revealing your hot pink thong. He played with the straps before sliding them down your legs, kissing your thighs as he passed by.
Your core was drenched at this point from sucking his dick alone, and seeing him at your pussy sent you to another planet.
He slid two fingers in without warning, pulled them out, and sucked them while keeping his eyes on yours. "What a good girl. So wet for me." Levi started pumping his fingers, curling at your clit.
"Levi.." You moan his name, curling your toes. Levi presses his hand on your stomach, sitting his face in-between your thighs. His lips touched your pussy, sending electricity up and down your body.
The entire time, his eyes are on you. Watching every face you make, listening to every moan. Levi ate pussy like it was his last meal. His tongue and fingers invaded you and made it their home instead. Your walls started to pulsate as his tongue went in and out of you, devouring every last drop.
"So beautiful." Levi mumbled against you, curling his fingers one last time before the world went away around you. The feeling is euphoric. A man hasn't made you feel like this, ever. You've pleasured yourself enough to give yourself an orgasm, but this is different.
"Levi." You moan loudly, gripping his hair, riding out your high. You could not focus on one thing - there were no thoughts in your head. Levi ate you through your high until your legs were shaking uncontrollably.
Making his way to your lips, Levi kissed you gently, the sheen of your arousal all over his mouth.
"I wish I could savor this taste forever." He groaned, putting his hand behind your neck and pressing you into him gently.
His lips moved with purpose, making sure every inch is taken care of. Your lips are plump from all the arousal, your heart feels like its beating out of your chest.
"Do you still want to watch Grey's Anatomy?"

Having worked with lawyers the last 4 years of my career, the level of male incompetence in the legal field is unbelievable.
Not only are male lawyers less educated and less accomplished on average, they lack basic competence in office administration. They don’t know how couriers work, they don’t know how to work a virtual meeting, they don’t know any of the online applications used in their practice, half of them can’t send an email or create a PDF on their own. And then they have the nerve to treat their staff like shit, despite their staff basically running the whole operation.
By contrast, every female lawyer I’ve worked with is overqualified, overeducated and up to date in their field, extremely conscientious, and very competent, as well as easy to work with. But they have a hard time breaking into the field and have to work 100x harder to become partners than mediocre men.
Support female lawyers. If you have a choice between a male lawyer and a female one, and you feel comfortable to do so, please consider choosing a female lawyer, especially if you’re dealing with abuse or a child protection case. I don’t even want to get into the amount of male lawyers who have taken advantage of divorced or abused women. They’re just not safe to interact with if you are in a vulnerable position.
Support female lawyers when you can, and don’t take any shit from male lawyers who can hardly breathe without 2 assistants to help them.

Training afternoon
The recruits listened as 6DG05's voice resonated within their helmets, a digital symphony of authority and guidance. The field lay before them, a vast expanse of simulated and real challenges, something not easy to keep apart inside the helmets that totally controlled their sensory input.
Tumblr media
6DG05's voice resonated through the recruits' helmets, cutting through the digital landscape like a calculated breeze. His explanation wove through the intricacies of the Corps' methodology, emphasizing the seemingly paradoxical benefits of controlled sensory input.
"Recruits," he began, his tone carrying a subtle mixture of authority and explanation, "the controlled sensory input is not just a feature; it's a crucial aspect of your training. In this controlled environment, we can fine-tune your experiences, exposing you to a spectrum of challenges that transcend the limitations of traditional training methods."
He elaborated on the advantages, dissecting the nuances of their immersive training. "By manipulating your sensory perception, we can simulate a vast array of scenarios – from chaotic battlefield emergencies to nuanced medical procedures.
Inside the confines of their helmets, IU664 and H2U8M found a rare moment to converse, their voices digitalized and encrypted, resonating within the sealed space.
Tumblr media
IU664's voice, slightly distorted by the helmet's communication system, cut through the virtual landscape. "It's disturbing, isn't it? Not knowing where the line between reality and simulation is drawn."
H2U8M, navigating the simulated challenges alongside IU664, responded, "Yeah, it messes with your head. Everything feels real, but then again, it might not be."
The digital symphony of their voices interwove with the simulated sounds of the field, creating a surreal backdrop to their conversation.
"I mean, how do we know if what we're experiencing is genuine or just another layer of the Corps' conditioning?" IU664 pondered.
"Uncertainty breeds adaptability. It's part of their method. Keep us guessing, keep us sharp."
The urgent call from T4C7L pierced through the recruits' simulated environment, pulling them from the complexities of their virtual challenges. Racing toward the coordinates, IU664 and H2U8M, found themselves face to face with a disturbing scene.
The field kitchen, where they just had eaten lay in ruins. Smoke billowed from the wreckage, and the harsh glow of flames cast eerie shadows on the digital landscape. As they approached T4C7L's prone figure, a sense of urgency permeated the simulation.
Lifting debris with their gauntleted hands, IU664 and H2U8M uncovered the injured T4C7L. His moans resonated in their helmets, creating an unsettling juxtaposition with the chaos of the disaster.
T4C7L lay there, his left leg severed by a cruel piece of virtual debris. The recruits, not knowing if this was real or part of the simulation's artificial nature, felt a surge of empathy and concern for their fallen comrade.
Tumblr media
"Stay with me, T4C7L," IU664 urged, his digital voice carrying a hint of urgency.
H2U8M, assessing the injury, stated, "We need to stabilize him. The AI should guide us through the procedure."
As they engaged in the simulated medical emergency, the line between reality and virtuality blurred. The immersive nature of the training demanded their full attention, compelling them to respond to the simulated crisis with a blend of tactical skill and compassionate care. In the Corps, even the most controlled environments carried the weight of uncertainty and the imperative to act.
Following the AI's guidance, H2U8M took charge of the situation, his gauntleted hands working with precision to address the virtual trauma. The HUD within his helmet displayed step-by-step instructions, an ethereal guide in the midst of the simulated crisis.
IU664, his attention focused on the task at hand, assisted by providing tools and materials as prompted by the AI. Together, they worked to staunch the bleeding, following the carefully choreographed motions dictated by the digital guide.
Tumblr media
The HUD displayed vital signs and diagnostics related to T4C7L's condition. The integrated medi-kit had administered pain medication to alleviate T4C7L's suffering, and the virtual readouts indicated a stabilization of his vital signs.
H2U8M and IU664, still in the midst of the emergency, assessed the data provided by the suit. The digital interface guided them through the next steps, prompting them to check for any other injuries and ensure that T4C7L remained stable until further assistance arrived.
The surreal blend of the real and the simulated created a unique atmosphere within the paramedic suits. The recruits, immersed in the scenario, relied on the seamless integration of technology and training to navigate the challenges presented to them.
Mission Control's voice resonated in their helmets, instructing them to evacuate T4C7L to a designated safe zone approximately 2 km away. The recruits, relying on the suit's enhanced strength and the knowledge gained through their training, carefully lifted and secured T4C7L onto a makeshift stretcher.
Tumblr media
The HUD provided a digital map overlay, guiding them through the simulated terrain. The recruits, now fully immersed in the scenario, navigated the challenges of the field with precision. The weight of their injured comrade served as a constant reminder of the gravity of their mission.
As they moved toward the designated safe zone, the AI continued to offer guidance and feedback, assessing their actions and responses.
H2U8M's voice resonated through the secure channel, the digital encryption ensuring their conversation remained private within the confines of their helmets.
Tumblr media
H2U8M: "This feels real, doesn't it? The weight of T4C7L, the urgency of the mission. It's all too convincing."
IU664: "I agree. The details, the sensory input—simulations don't usually feel this tangible. But then again, we're dealing with a level of technology that blurs the lines between reality and simulation."
H2U8M: "What if they're testing us, pushing us to question the nature of the scenario? It's all part of their conditioning methods."
T4C7L's voice crackled through their secure communication channel, his tone a mix of pain and frustration.
T4C7L: "You stupid cucumbers, this is as real as it gets. The pain in my leg is real, the wreckage around me is real. Now, less talking, more moving. Get me out of here."
H2U8M and IU664, though relieved to have some confirmation of the reality of the situation, focused on the task at hand.
The AI-induced partial failures added an extra layer of challenge for the recruits. H2U8M and IU664, tasked with carrying the simulated injured T4C7L, found their suits responding sluggishly, resistors intermittently activating, and the feedback loops creating unpredictable resistance.
As they struggled with the simulated technical issues, the instructors watched the recruits' responses closely through the telemetry data. The suits' HUDs flickered, displaying false alarms and misleading information, testing the recruits' ability to troubleshoot and adapt.
Amidst the simulated chaos, H2U8M and IU664 lifted the incapacitated T4C7L, the weight feeling unexpectedly variable due to the simulated suit malfunctions.
Inside the encrypted communication channel, IU664's voice crackled into H2U8M's helmet, laden with a mix of frustration and amusement.
Tumblr media
As 6DG05 observed the recruits' progress, a mischievous thought crossed his mind. With a subtle command to the AI, he decided to add an extra layer of challenge.
6DG05: "Let's keep them on their toes. AI, introduce some glitches into their suits, nothing too extreme, just enough to test their adaptability and problem-solving skills."
The HUDs of the recruits flickered momentarily, introducing simulated glitches that distorted visuals and generated sporadic sensor errors. The recruits, unaware of the deliberate interference, now faced an additional layer of complexity in the already challenging simulation.
IU664: "Did you feel that glitch, H2U8M? Something's off, and I don't think it's just part of the simulation."
6DG05 observed the recruits' actions on the HUD telemetry feed. Satisfied with IU664 and H2U8M's performance in stabilizing and evacuating T4C7L, he allowed a sense of approval to creep into his thoughts.
H2U8M: "Yeah, I noticed. Feels like the suits are playing tricks on us. Maybe they've upgraded the training scenarios, or it's another layer of conditioning."
Tumblr media
T4C7L, lying on the simulated ground, spoke through the helmet's speakers, his voice carrying a mix of urgency and simulated pain.
T4C7L: "Come on, recruits! This isn't a stroll in the park. I need help. Get me to that ambulance, and make it quick. No time to dilly-dally."
Amidst the simulated chaos and controlled disarray of the training exercise, IU664 and H2U8M rushed towards the waiting Instructor KO10T, their minds instantly reverting to the systematic approach they'd been trained to follow in such situations.
IU664, his voice calm and focused despite the surrounding turmoil, relayed the critical information. "Instructor, we've encountered a casualty. Assessing his condition using the ABCDE approach: Airway's clear, breathing labored, pulse is thready, conscious but showing signs of distress. Extremity injury to the left leg, traumatic amputation. Bleeding is controlled."
H2U8M, maintaining composure, joined in. "Checking his Disability and Exposure—conscious and oriented, no other evident injuries. Estimated blood loss is moderate but manageable. Requesting immediate evac, sir."
Instructor KO10T, taking in the urgency in their voices, nodded in acknowledgment. "Understood. Prepping for immediate evacuation. Excellent work, both of you. Let's get him to safety."
The visors ascended with a faint hiss, revealing the training ground in all its controlled normalcy. The chaotic scenes of a simulated emergency melted away, leaving IU664 and H2U8M blinking in the calibrated lighting of the training area.
The instructors, KO10T and 6DG05, observed with a discerning eye, assessing the recruits' reactions to the simulation's conclusion.
The training ground, once a staged battlefield of urgency and simulated injuries, now revealed T4C7L standing before them, seemingly whole except for the absent leg that remained in the simulation.
T4C7L, having played his role in the training exercise, maintained a composed demeanor despite the apparent incongruity of his missing leg.
Tumblr media
T4C7L, noticing their confusion, spoke up. "Ah, the leg. I guess I forgot to mention it during the briefing. Lost it in a motorcycle accident when I was seventeen. But they fixed me up real good, got me back on my feet, or foot, so to speak. Decided I wanted to serve, to be on the other side, helping folks just like the guys who helped me."
T4C7L, noting the lingering surprise on the faces of IU664 and H2U8M, grinned. "Don't worry, mates. I'm not as handicapped as it might seem. The leg I lost years ago has been replaced by this marvel of technology." He tapped on the sleek surface of his suit's leg, revealing the hidden, fully functional prosthetic limb.
The recruits, still processing the revelations, marveled at the seamless integration of advanced prosthetics into the tactical paramedic suits. It was a testament to the level of technology they were immersed in, where disabilities could be overcome with cutting-edge innovations.
T4C7L continued, "This prosthetic is more than just a replacement. It's an enhancement, a piece of gear that complements the suit and makes me as effective as any of you." He flexed the prosthetic, demonstrating its range of motion and adaptability.
The revelation about T4C7L's prosthetic leg added another layer of complexity to IU664 and H2U8M's understanding of their immersive training. The blurring line between simulation and reality became increasingly elusive, and the recruits found themselves questioning the authenticity of their experiences.
The instructors, masters of this carefully constructed reality, watched silently, knowing that each twist in the training narrative served a purpose beyond the recruits' immediate comprehension.
KO10T, realizing the disconcerting nature of the training, approached IU664 and H2U8M. His inquiry about their needs and the offer to adjust the environment for their comfort revealed a subtle acknowledgment of the psychological strain the immersive scenarios imposed on the recruits.
With a controlled, yet understanding tone, KO10T conveyed, "Do you need anything, recruits? Take a moment. I'll give you control over the suits. You can decide whether to keep the visors open or closed, whatever makes you more comfortable."
Tumblr media
The choice offered a semblance of autonomy within the structured training environment. As the visors lifted, the recruits found themselves facing the training ground once again, now free from the immersive overlays that dictated their experiences. The ambient sounds of the training site became more pronounced, grounding them in the tangible reality of their surroundings.
U664 and H2U8M, visors open to the training ground's unfiltered reality, sipped their hot tea as they joined KO10T and T4C7L in preparing for the next team's immersive scenario. The banter flowed naturally between the recruits and their instructors, a brief interlude of camaraderie amid the intense training regimen.
KO10T, while overseeing the setup, engaged in light banter with the recruits. "Well, recruits, how did it feel to face the unexpected? This training isn't your typical walk in the park, but you handled it well."
H2U8M chuckled, "I have to admit, I wasn't sure if we were dealing with a simulation or a real emergency back there. You've got us on our toes, Instructor."
T4C7L, adjusting some equipment nearby, added, "Ah, the blend of reality and simulation, keeps you sharp, doesn't it? It's what makes our paramedics the best in the field."
Tumblr media
T4C7L asks H2U8M to carry him in the Fireman's carry to the simulated explosion site
H2U8M, responding to T4C7L's request with a smirk, said, "Sure thing, T4C7L. Ready for a scenic tour of our simulated chaos?" He crouched down, allowing T4C7L to climb onto his back in a fireman's carry.
As H2U8M walked toward the designated area, T4C7L playfully remarked, "Ah, the perks of having recruits who can lift you like a feather."
"Consider it part of our paramedic fitness training, sir," H2U8M quipped, maintaining the camaraderie amid the unconventional scenario.
H2U8M carefully lowered T4C7L to the ground, and T4C7L continued to play his part in setting the stage. He pointed to a small container labeled "artificial blood" nearby and instructed, "There you go, H2U8M. Make it look dramatic. We want the next team to think they're in for a real challenge."
H2U8M, with a hint of a smile beneath his helmet, picked up the container and applied the artificial blood to the prosthetic stump, creating a convincing illusion of injury. T4C7L, lying on the ground, maintained a serious expression, adding to the realism of the scene.
KO10T, overseeing the preparations, nodded in approval. "Good job, recruits. This will set the tone for the next team. Remember, realism is key in our training."
KO10T told the recruits: "If you want you watch your mates go through the same scenario as you did, but you will have to lower the visors."
Tumblr media
U664 glanced at H2U8M, and they exchanged a silent agreement. With a synchronized motion, they lowered their visors, immersing themselves back into the controlled environment of the suits. The training ground transformed once again, the HUD overlaying data and simulations on their vision.
KO10T's voice echoed in their helmets, "Welcome to the observer's perspective, recruits. Take a moment to see how your fellow paramedics handle the challenges. It's a valuable part of your training."
As they watched their comrades navigating the simulated emergencies, H2U8M couldn't help but feel a mix of curiosity and camaraderie. IU664, sharing the sentiment, remarked over their encrypted channel, "It's strange being on this side, isn't it? Almost like watching a performance, but with a deeper understanding."
"Yeah," replied H2U8M, "you get a different appreciation for the complexities of the scenarios when you're not in the thick of it. Let's see how they tackle it."
Finally the last team of their platoon emerged. Most of them were as stunned as H2U8M from the final scenario.
As the last team completed the scenario, the recruits gathered, their visors lifted to reveal a mix of sweat-soaked and bewildered faces. The training ground, once a battleground of simulations and challenges, now required their attention for cleanup.
KO10T's voice cut through their helmets, "Good work, recruits. Visors up for now. Take a moment to catch your breath. We'll march back to the barracks once the site is cleaned up."
IU664 and H2U8M joined the rest of the platoon in the post-scenario haze. The disorientation lingered as they helped tidy the training area. Equipment was stowed, and remnants of the simulated emergencies were cleared away.
Tumblr media
H2U8M retrieved T4C7L's prosthetic leg and handed it to him. T4C7L deftly attached the prosthetic, securing it in place with practiced ease. As the mechanical components engaged, the leg seemed to seamlessly integrate with his suit.
T4C7L stood up, testing the prosthetic limb. The movement was fluid, a testament to the advanced technology that augmented his abilities. The recruits, still gathered and cleaning up the training site, watched with a mixture of curiosity and admiration.
IU664, intrigued by the seamless integration of the prosthetic with the suit, couldn't help but ask over their helmet communication, "How does it feel, T4C7L? Having a leg like that?"
T4C7L, now standing steadily, replied with a grin audible in his voice, "Feels like I never lost it in the first place. The tech these suits have is something else. Now, let's finish up here and head back. Good job today, everyone."
The platoon marched in unison, their visors down, the rhythmic thud of boots echoing through the simulated night. The HUDs provided a subtle green glow, enhancing their vision in the darkness. The recruits moved with a disciplined precision, the day's immersive training still fresh in their minds.
IU664 and H2U8M, side by side in the formation, exchanged a few words over their helmet communication. The day's events had left an indelible mark on their perception of the training, blurring the lines between simulation and reality.
Tumblr media
H2U8M remarked, "Never thought I'd see someone attach a prosthetic leg to a suit like that."
IU664 replied, "Yeah, the technology is impressive. Makes you wonder what else these suits can do."
As they moved to the decontamination area, H2U8M turned to IU664, visor still lifted, "Quite a day, huh? I never expected this level of intensity when we started."
The recruits moved through the decontamination process, shedding the remnants of the scenarios they had faced. The barracks awaited them, a place where they could rest, reflect, and prepare for the next phase of their paramedic training.
The platoon filed into the barracks, the air hissing as the docking clamps engaged, securing the recruits in their suits.
Tumblr media
Inside the barracks, the visors lifted, revealing a room filled with exhausted but focused faces. The instructors, including T4C7L, who had rejoined them, prepared to discuss the day's events and lessons learned. The recruits, visors now transparent, awaited the debriefing that would shed light on the complexities of their futuristic training.
The mechanical symphony of replenishment and recharging began, each suit connected to its designated station.
The suits, now in a passive state, initiated their self-maintenance routines. he HUDs displayed diagnostic data, ensuring that each suit received the necessary attention for the upcoming days of training.
IU664 glanced at H2U8M, their expressions hidden behind the helmets. "It's like we're part of some advanced, living organism," IU664 remarked, the fatigue of the day's training evident in his voice.
The classroom, now illuminated by the overhead lights, awaited the instructors' debriefing.
The recruits' HUDs illuminated with a cascading stream of data, an automated report detailing their performance throughout the day. Bright green indicators marked areas of success, while cautionary amber signals highlighted aspects needing improvement.
IU664's eyes scanned the detailed breakdown of his actions during the simulated emergency scenarios. The HUD displayed commendations for swift responses, accurate diagnostics, and effective communication with H2U8M. Yet, there were amber warnings, cautioning him about a slightly delayed reaction time during the evacuation phase.
H2U8M's HUD presented a similar array of information. The system praised his effective wound management and coordination with IU664, but a cautionary note suggested a need for more precision in administering certain medical procedures.
Tumblr media
The recruits, still inside their suits, exchanged glances. The silent feedback from their AI-guided assessments brought a mix of satisfaction and determination. It was a constant loop of improvement — an intricate dance between human decision-making and the enhancements offered by the advanced technology woven into their suits.
IU664 tapped a few virtual buttons on his HUD, accessing a broader analysis of their overall platoon performance. The report extended beyond individual accomplishments, providing insights into the collective efficiency and potential areas for group synergy.
"It's like a digital debriefing," IU664 remarked, his voice reverberating within the confines of the helmet.
H2U8M nodded, "They've quantified every move, every decision. We're not just learning from our experiences; the system is optimizing us."
As the recruits absorbed the data and recommendations, the automated voice of the AI chimed in through their helmets, "Tomorrow is a new day of training. Optimize, adapt, overcome."
The instructors, their voices resonating through the recruits' helmets, issued the command: "Initiate docking procedures. It's time to rest."
The recruits, visors descending to create a cocoon of isolation, marched in unison toward the docking stations. The rhythmic hiss of docking clamps engaged, securing each recruit in place. The ambient hum of the suits' machinery became a lullaby, a mechanical symphony serenading them into a state of rest.
Tumblr media
As the recruits settled into their individual stations, the suits initiated a sequence. The once active HUD now dimmed, transitioning into a soft, ambient glow. Inside the sealed helmets, the recruits experienced a gradual disconnection from the external world.
In the virtual space of their HUD, the instructors relayed a message: "Rest well, recruits. Tomorrow awaits new challenges."
The recruits' bodies reclined in the docking stations, embraced by the contours of their suits. The AI, ever vigilant, monitored their vital signs and sleep patterns. As the recruits drifted into the realm of dreams, the suits maintained a silent watch, ready to awaken them at the appointed hour.

"The Shamanic Drum" Audiobook Release
Tumblr media
I am excited to announce the release of the audiobook version of my bestselling books The Shamanic Drum: A Guide to Sacred Drumming and Shamanic Drumming: Calling the Spirits. The Shamanic Drum is my definitive guide to shamanic drumming, a form of repetitive rhythmic drumming. Its purpose is to induce ecstatic trance states in order to access innate wisdom and guidance. The essence of shamanism is the experience of direct revelation from within. Shamanism is about remembering, exploring and developing the true self. Shamanic practice heightens the ability of perception and enables you to see into the deeper realms of the self. Once connected with your inner self, you can find help, healing and a continual source of guidance. To practice shamanism is to reconnect with your deepest core values and your highest vision of who you are and why you are here.
Drawing from 30 years of shamanic practice and teaching, I present the first practical guide to applying this ancient healing art to our modern lives. Through a series of simple exercises and lessons, I teach the basic shamanic methods of drumming. The focus is on creating sacred space, journeying, power practice, power animals, drum circles and the therapeutic effects of drumming. There are no prerequisites to learning shamanic drumming. Whether you are an accomplished percussionist or a total beginner, this user-friendly book will help you harness the power of drumming. Listen to a sample of The Shamanic Drum.
In my book Shamanic Drumming: Calling the Spirits, I recount my journey into shamanic practice and explore what someone should do if they feel the call to become a shaman. Many people in today's world are being called by spirit to become shamans. A yearning exists deep within many of us to reconnect to the natural world. It is a call to a life lived in balance with awareness of nature, of spirit, and of self. Following up on my book, The Shamanic Drum, I provide a new series of exercises and lessons that allow for a deeper understanding and utilization of this core shamanic practice. I have written a guide to becoming a shamanic healer that encompasses the power of the drum, of community, and of the accountability inherent in authentic shamanic practice.
This empowering book is a call to build relationships with helping spirits. Spirit helpers are the caretakers in the unseen world who want to support the earth and her inhabitants at this time. They are here to teach us how to gather wisdom from the spiritual realms, the natural world, the past, the present and the future in order to give birth to new ways of being. The shamanic relationship between humans and helping spirits supports our spirit's quest for self-realization. Helping spirits, if engaged regularly and skillfully, offer flexibility, creativity and perseverance in fulfilling our own unique path. The spirits are here to assist us in doing the principal, unique thing we have come here to do in a way that benefits all living things. Listen to a sample of Shamanic Drumming.
Virtual Voice Narration
These audiobooks use Virtual Voice narration. Virtual Voice is a computer-generated speech technology designed explicitly to create Audible audiobooks. Audible is an Amazon-owned company renowned for its vast library of audiobooks. Audible's Virtual Voice is a cutting-edge technology that utilizes advanced artificial intelligence (AI) to generate lifelike voice narrations for audiobooks. Unlike traditional methods that require human narrators, Virtual Voice can create high-quality narrations using synthesized voices. This technology leverages deep learning and natural language processing (NLP) to produce voices that sound remarkably human.
One of the significant advantages of Virtual Voice is the consistency it offers. Human narrators, while talented, can introduce variability in their performances due to factors like mood, health, or fatigue. Virtual Voice eliminates these inconsistencies, ensuring that every chapter of a book is narrated with the same level of quality and energy. I was hesitant to publish any of my books using Virtual Voice, however the quality of the narration is much better than I could have ever imagined it would be.
The Rise of Audiobooks
In the fast-paced digital age, the way we consume content has significantly evolved. Audiobooks, once considered a niche market, have surged in popularity, providing a convenient and engaging way for people to enjoy literature. Audiobooks have grown exponentially over the past decade, thanks in part to the proliferation of smartphones and the increasing popularity of multitasking. People can now listen to books while commuting, exercising, or performing household chores. This convenience has turned audiobooks into a preferred medium for many readers. Audible has been at the forefront of this transformation, offering a vast selection of titles across various genres.
For those who listen to audiobooks, the arrival of Virtual Voice will be seamless to the existing customer experience. Audible users will be able to easily discover and enjoy audiobooks featuring virtual voices, and audiobooks created with Virtual Voice will be clearly marked to avoid any confusion with traditional, human-narrated audiobooks. Customers will be able to listen to samples prior to purchase, just like with any other audiobook, and decide for themselves whether they want to give this new technology a chance. Whether you're a long-time audiobook enthusiast or a newcomer to the format, Virtual Voice promises to enhance your listening experience in ways you never imagined.

The day is slowly turning into night, and the American special operators are growing concerned. They are deployed to a densely populated urban center in a politically volatile region, and local activity has grown increasingly frenetic in recent days, the roads and markets overflowing with more than the normal bustle of city life. Intelligence suggests the threat level in the city is high, but the specifics are vague, and the team needs to maintain a low profile—a firefight could bring known hostile elements down upon them. To assess potential threats, the Americans decide to take a more cautious approach. Eschewing conspicuous tactical gear in favor of blending in with potential crowds, an operator steps out into the neighborhood's main thoroughfare to see what he can see.
With a click of a button, the operator sees … everything. A complex suite of sensors affixed to his head-up display start vacuuming up information from the world around him. Body language, heart rates, facial expressions, and even ambient snatches of conversation in local dialects are rapidly collected and routed through his backpack supercomputers for processing with the help of an onboard artificial intelligence engine. The information is instantly analyzed, streamlined, and regurgitated back into the head-up display. The assessment from the operators’ tactical AI sidekick comes back clear: There are a series of seasonal events coming into town, and most passersby are excited and exuberant, presenting a minimal threat to the team. Crisis averted—for now.
This is one of many potential scenarios repeatedly presented by Defense Department officials in recent years when discussing the future of US special operations forces, those elite troops tasked with facing the world’s most complex threats head-on as the “tip of the spear” of the US military. Both defense officials and science-fiction scribes may have envisioned a future of warfare shaped by brain implants and performing enhancing drugs, or a suit of powered armor straight out of Starship Troopers, but according to US Special Operations Command, the next generation of armed conflict will be fought (and, hopefully, won) with a relatively simple concept: the “hyper enabled operator.”
More Brains, Less Brawn
First introduced to the public in 2019 in an essay by officials from SOCOM’s Joint Acquisition Task Force (JATF) for Small Wars Journal, the hyper-enabled operator (HEO) concept is the successor program to the Tactical Assault Light Operator Suit (TALOS) effort that, initiated in 2013, sought to outfit US special operations forces with a so-called “Iron Man” suit. Inspired by the 2012 death of a Navy SEAL during a hostage rescue operation in Afghanistan, TALOS was intended to improve operators’ survivability in combat by making them virtually resistant to small-arms fire through additional layers of sophisticated armor, the latest installment of the Pentagon’s decades-long effort to build a powered exoskeleton for infantry troops. While the TALOS effort was declared dead in 2019 due to challenges integrating its disparate systems into one cohesive unit, the lessons learned from the program gave rise to the HEO as a natural successor.
The core objective of the HEO concept is straightforward: to give warfighters “cognitive overmatch” on the battlefield, or “the ability to dominate the situation by making informed decisions faster than the opponent,” as SOCOM officials put it. Rather than bestowing US special operations forces with physical advantages through next-generation body armor and exotic weaponry, the future operator will head into battle with technologies designed to boost their situational awareness and relevant decisionmaking to superior levels compared to the adversary. Former fighter pilot and Air Force colonel John Boyd proposed the “OODA loop” (observe, orient, decide, act) as the core military decisionmaking model of the 21st century; the HEO concept seeks to use technology to “tighten” that loop so far that operators are quite literally making smarter and faster decisions than the enemy.
“The goal of HEO,” as SOCOM officials put it in 2019, “is to get the right information to the right person at the right time.”
To achieve this goal, the HEO concept calls for swapping the powered armor at the heart of the TALOS effort for sophisticated communications equipment and a robust sensor suite built on advanced computing architecture, allowing the operator to vacuum up relevant data and distill it into actionable information through a simple interface like a head-up display—and do so “at the edge,” in places where traditional communications networks may not be available. If TALOS was envisioned as an “Iron Man'' suit, as I previously observed, then HEO is essentially Jarvis, Tony Stark’s built-in AI assistant that’s constantly feeding him information through his helmet’s head-up display.
“[JATF] is targeting technologies to deliver cognitive overmatch to SOF operators working at the edge in austere and contested environments in coordination with and working through partners and allies,” SOCOM spokesperson James O. Gregory tells WIRED, invoking a general description of the program from the command’s website. “Such technologies will enable tactical teams of SOF operators to intuitively use information made available by next-generation sensors, networks, computing, and communication systems to rapidly build situation awareness. It will also help make timely, well-informed decisions, and take actions inside an adversary's ability to react.”
Enter the Gray Zone
So what does the HEO actually look like today, five years after its introduction into the US military’s tactical lexicon? Given the sensitive (and somewhat notional) nature of the effort, details remain scarce, and SOCOM officials have remained relatively tight-lipped about its progress. But according to SOCOM’s Gregory, the scenario and concept the HEO seeks to address has “evolved” from what officials previously described to reporters at the program’s inception. Indeed, rather than augmenting warfighters deployed to active combat zones, SOCOM officials envision something more like a casually dressed operator vacuuming up information on a busy urban avenue through a Google Glass-like eyepiece and sizing up the situation—in other words, more James Bond than Tony Stark. “The operational environment for the JATF’s current efforts is in the competition phase of warfare, in permissive or semi-permissive locations,” Gregory says. (A permissive environment is generally defined as an operational environment where US forces have the backing of a host country’s security apparatus, according to the US Army, while a “semi-permissive” environment is potentially hostile and local support is often not reliable.) No longer just another tool for a kinetic assault, the HEO will help elite troops operating in the “gray zone” between peace and conflict.
A SOCOM broad agency announcement—a general request for research and development proposals from the defense industry—published in 2020 and updated as recently as November 2023 details the JATF’s push for advanced technologies designed to boost situational awareness. Those technologies include: intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance capabilities “without substantial manning or networking resources” (the aforementioned “at the edge”); sophisticated sensors capable of “iris, facial, anatomical measures, gestures, gait, heartbeat, electromagnetic signals, deoxyribonucleic acid [DNA], and microbiome recognition”; low-visibility communications systems; and “data visualizations” that “permit [operators] to receive and intuitively understand networked information from communication, computing, and sensor systems,” among others. In short, the HEO envisions systems that enable the constant, real-time collection and distillation of data into actionable intel that could potentially mean the difference between life and death in an uncertain situation.
Edge Case
Envisioning a suite of aspirational capabilities is one thing; actually building them is another thing entirely. In terms of developing new products, Gregory says that the HEO effort has remained focused on three major experimental technology areas for the last several years: sensing and edge computing, architecture and analysis, and language translation.
“Sensing and edge computing” generally refers to the collection and processing of data from a variety of sources, but it also refers to the specialized computing power that operators need not only to function “at the edge,” but to actually run the AI-enabled software that will form the foundation of the HEO.
“Emerging technologies and solutions in artificial intelligence/machine learning require specialized ‘compute’ hardware, as traditional CPU-based devices are insufficient,” Gregory says. “We aim to feature a manpack device with a graphics processing unit, neural processing engine, and/or tensor processing unit capabilities. This will provide the necessary platform to leverage advanced technologies like language translation and other solutions at the edge, even when disconnected from the cloud.”
That computing power forms the basis for the “architecture and analysis” element focused on the rapid assessment and presentation of data to operators in the field. Gregory tells WIRED that, to support this element, the command has developed “a flexible [system] architecture that fuses data from various sources and media types” into an easily digestible format for operators to assess and act upon.
As for language translation, that’s self-explanatory. SOCOM believes that “prior to any hostilities ever occurring, clear communication can greatly enhance development of our long-term relationships,” Gregory says. “Voice-to-voice translation enables operators to communicate more effectively than relying on often scarce interpreters in the field. Even though many SOF personnel are multilingual, they are frequently deployed to regions with different languages or dialects.”
In line with these experimental technology areas, SOCOM has reportedly concentrated on six immediate lines of product development, per C4ISRNet: the “operator-worn kit” that includes both sensors and onboard computer processing power; application development resources; a unique, mission-agnostic system architecture; the “human-machine interface” that’s generally envisioned as a digital head-up display; a product called “information realization” that likely involves the clear presentation of data; and beyond-line-of-sight (BLoS) communications designed to keep troops in contact with their commanders (and each other) in satellite-denied environments.
According to Gregory, the command has gradually rolled out a handful of fresh capabilities from the HEO effort in recent years. In 2021, SOCOM announced that two products—a BLoS communications system and an unspecified “integrated situational awareness tool”—were transitioning into official programs of record, as Janes reported at the time. Gregory confirmed to WIRED that the BLoS system consists of “a steerable gimble antenna system that enhances the functionality” of the command’s SOF deployable nodes, a family of advanced satellite communications systems. The spokesperson also confirmed that the situational awareness tool, known as SEEKER, is an app that “enables advisers to build advanced situational awareness, thereby allowing them to select actions with an eye toward the broader situation rather than just the immediately apparent problem.” It’s unclear if the latter is related to the “automate the analyst” effort the command kicked off in 2020 to provide operators with an autonomous AI assistant.
Then there’s the “visual environment translation” system that’s designed to convert foreign language inputs into clear English in real time. Known overarchingly as the Versatile Intelligent Translation Assistant (VITA), the system encompasses both a visual environment translation effort and voice-to-voice translation capabilities and is “the most mature” of the JATF’s experimental technology areas, according to SOCOM. VITA is essentially “a voice-to-voice translation engine that functions offline on GPU-enabled devices,” Gregory says, small enough to be carried in the field on a laptop-tethered smartphone or wearable device and “engage in effective conversations where it was previously impossible.” And not only has VITA successfully demonstrated Russian, Chinese Mandarin, and Ukrainian language translation capabilities during testing, but the system has even been deployed to two undisclosed theaters of operations already.
“The visual translation component enhances situational awareness by translating video images, such as street signs, graffiti, and other written texts, in real time,” Gregory says. “Operators can use their phone cameras to scan their surroundings and understand foreign languages instantly.”
VITA provides US special operations forces with “a high-quality translation capability that is not reliant on the cloud or local interpreters, thus significantly reducing risk and logistical costs while increasing operational range and effectiveness for USSOF and our partners,” Gregory says. “The JATF is currently working with industry partners to reduce the size of the hardware and transition it into a SOF Program Executive Office for eventual fielding.” (And that language translation may not be restricted to a mobile device for long: According to SOCOM’s fiscal year 2025 budget request published in March, the command is still plowing ahead with head-mounted sensors and an augmented-reality HUD to present these functions right before operators’ eyes.)
Field Work
To US military planners, the HEO concept is promising: According to one Army assessment, the successful adoption of the system could potentially increase operator survivability far beyond that provided by the additional body armor of the TALOS program. But like other potentially revolutionary technology ventures, there’s certainly the possibility that HEO could end up a science fiction dream that collapses under the weight of its own technical complexity. And there’s no guarantee that operators will embrace the new technology seamlessly in the first place: Although VITA has shown operational promise, it’s unclear if other HEO products will prove intuitive enough to actually augment operators in the field rather than burden them with some complicated newfangled system. As Heinlein put it so aptly in Starship Troopers: “If you load a mud foot down with a lot of gadgets that he has to watch, somebody a lot more simply equipped—say with a stone ax—will sneak up and bash his head in while he is trying to read a vernier.” Perhaps, like TALOS, the promise of a tactical AI assistant like Tony Stark’s Jarvis sidekick may prove simply too ambitious for military engineers to realize in a fully formed product. But even if the HEO effort ends up only fielding, say, the VITA language translation tool, it will still represent a major boost in capabilities for US special operators deployed abroad. The day is slowly turning into night, but American commandos own the night and, with the help of the HEO, will do so well into the next conflict.

Blog Post 8: The Power of Virtual Writing Spaces
Tumblr media
This blog post focuses on additional research for my project: Joining/Establishing a Virtual Creative Writing Club.
Additional research for my project included the benefits of having Peer-to-peer writing spaces. For example, benefits such as:
Community building, which in online spaces involves fostering connections and creating a sense of belonging.
Learning new technological tools for Virtual Writing, which enhances digital literacy.
Leadership skill building, which assists in acquiring the necessary tools and techniques to lead and motivate a team.
Students' active engagement and well-being, which support them in thriving academically.
Let’s discuss these benefits more.
Tumblr media
According to an article on Galileo by Craig Batty and Jennifer Sinclair, peer-to-peer learning encourages collaborative learning and independent skill building. The article highlights studies conducted by Buissink-Smith et al. (2013), which show results that suggest candidates in peer-to-peer groups are more likely to complete their degree and do so within the expected timeframe. The article also highlights researchers, including Kiley (2009) and Denholm and Evans (2006), who have observed advantages for candidates, such as increased progress and assistance in the publishing process. (Batty, C. and Sinclair, J., 2014)
According to these studies, peer-to-peer groups can be implemented in many ways, with or without a supervisor/facilitator, cutting across disciplinary boundaries or confined within disciplinary clusters. However, few of these studies have yet to emphasize the benefits a facilitator can acquire and how it can elevate their leadership approach while guiding such a group. (Batty, C. and Sinclair, J., 2014)

Tumblr media
I decided to highlight student engagement and well-being for this post to go more in-depth on a personal level.
This is one of the safest spaces I have right now. Here goes nothing….
Sometimes, I feel like people don’t understand the weight writers carry. For example, writing requires a lot of mental capacity, and if my mental capacity has already reached its limits with work, home, schoolwork, and grief, where do I get the strength to keep pushing through and forming these words?
Being around or engaging with my writing peers distracts me from reality and gives my brain time to calm down and reset.
For instance, my brain sometimes feels like a radiator that is running hot because of low antifreeze levels. Other times, it seems as though I have antifreeze, but my head gasket has blown. Both times, I found that escaping to Tumblr to read each of your blog posts helps me mentally in ways you guys wouldn’t even know. I appreciate your posts, especially the Personal History Collages.
Until Next Time!
Peace and Blessings!
