Surprised by a storm with Nozel (part 5/5)
You ate and drank, at first it was mostly just eating as you were practically starving after a long day, but later you made small talk. That small talk grew into a casual conversation during which you smiled and laughed, more precisely Nozel smiled and occasionally chuckled at best, but you laughed. You laughed and if it was possible, you could feel the pull to him grow more intense. It was as if your heartstrings had been floating towards him, inching closer every day since you met him, but now they had wrapped themselves around him. Those strings that were being spun into yarn, and as a result of being spun, they pulled you closer to him. Those strings were becoming thicker and stronger, and you wondered if you could hold still.
Evening started to turn into a night, and you only noticed how time had spanned from how the creeping cold from the outside had you holding yourself again. Nozel got up as soon as you rubbed your sides and walked to the fireplace. “I’ll throw a couple more logs in,” he said firmly. You hummed as you looked outside, where darkness was prominent. “Thank you, but I do think that we should turn in for the night.” “True,” he simply remarked as he crouched by the fire and throw logs in it.
You got up from your seat, rubbing your sides. “Which side of the bed do you want?” You inquired carefully. “Hmm. Doesn’t really matter I suppose. This side is closer to the fire and your belongings are on this side so…” He trailed off once his eyes caught your underwear laying in the chair next to him. “Wait. She’s naked under that make-believe-dress? Okay. Alright. I can do this. I can do this. Just calm down. Calm down. Calm the Hell down! We are both adults. We can do this. We can respectfully sleep on our own sides of the bed, even though the bed is quite narrow for a double bed… Why is the bed so narrow?! Calm down.” The veins on his forehead throbbed. “So, I should take this side?” He had barely registered you moving closer to him, now seated on the very god damn, bloody bed that was so god damn narrow, in front of him asking such a thing with that innocent tone. His brow twitched. “Ah… yes.” He remarked.
Nozel started to circle around the bed, his heart and mind racing. “Should I sleep with my shirt and pants on? But it’d be weird if I was fully dressed and she isn’t, right? Plain boxers? But that’d be too bold, right? Shirt I should take off in any case, right?” He dragged his steps as he thought, and ended up tossing his shirt onto the chair he had sat on, while you climbed under the covers. “If I start undoing my pants now, she’d get the wrong idea. Yes. Better to just leave them on.” He sat on the edge of his side, taking the last couple of seconds to try to gather himself and climbed in as well. You laid there on your backs, not touching each other, for a while in silence until you let out a nervous chuckle. “What?”, he asked gently. You stared at the sealing and smirked. “Nothing really. It’s just that this moment is… so absurd. I mean I… it’s just that.” He too let out a small chuckle. “Yeah. I understand what you mean.” He paused for while and continued without thinking that much. But the absurdity of the moment made it easy to blurt out ideas he wouldn’t otherwise have uttered. “We are acting like a couple of virgins not really knowing what do. What position to sleep in and so on.” The smirk faded from your lips as you turned to your side, facing him. “Well actually… Can I… tell you a secret?” Nozel turned his head to you and lifted an eyebrow. A small silence lingered between you before he replied with words. “Sure. I’ll keep it.”
Your inquiring eyes stayed in his for a moment longer, before drifting into the sheets. You opened your mouth, closed it and shifted a bit before separating your lips again to tell him. “I… This actually is the furthest I have ever gone with anyone.” Both of his brows rose up, shock prominent in his complexion. “Um. Come again? Did I hear that right? She’s… She’s still untouched? I’m the first person she’s sleeping with? We are just going to sleep, but still. “ His mind was at a standstill and didn’t know what to reply, so you continued instead now feeling a familiar weight in your chest. “I’m sorry, I – I shouldn’t have said that. I’ve made things even more awkward.” He turned his head towards the ceiling as he wasn’t sure if he’d manage to speak, would he lay his eyes on you at that moment. “No, no. It’s… I’m glad that you told me.” As the words left his lips, he scolded himself “What kind of a thing is that to say?! Why are you happy about she telling you that she’s a virgin?” Your brows furrowed slightly. “… Um. Forgive me sir -no, um- Nozel, but that…sounds a bit… strange thing to say.” It was true and he couldn’t deny it. “See?! Why the Hell did you go and say THAT to her? Of course, it’s weird! What was I supposed to say?!” He thought, but he started speaking. It was as if his mouth had a mind of its own. “It’s different trusting someone to have your back on missions and to trust someone with personal secrets. Even the most powerful combat mage, might not be one that you want to trust with your innermost thoughts and emotions. So, I’m glad that you trust me enough.” The words reached his ears as well as yours, and he was rather proud of himself, as well as surprised. “Huh. Good. That was good. And true. Good job.”
You looked at him, astonished. The corners of your mouth rose to your ears and there was a sparkle in your eyes. “Of course I do,” you told him with words like velvet dropping from your lips. You leaned closer to him. His eyes were still fixed on the ceiling as he continued to think: “There you are again. Saying things with that tone. As hard it is to not touch you, hold you when you do that, it makes me happy.” You press a faint kiss on his cheek. “Good night,” you whisper before turning on your other side. His fingertips found their way to the point on his cheek that was now warm. A smile rose to his face and washed away every trace of scowl or coldness in his complexion. “Good night,” he whispered. “I love you,” he thought.
He laid awake until cold started to creep further into the room and the fire in the fireplace started to die down. He glanced at you and carefully got out of the bed. The cold floor made him shiver, but he dared not hurry his steps as he didn’t want to wake you. He retrieved his cloak and got back into the bed, laying the cloak on you first. His movements were hushed and soft like silk, but the collar of the cloak tickled your cheek, waking you up. “Hmm? Nozel?” You said drowsily. “Yeah. Sorry for waking you up. Are you cold?” He asked. “Hmm. A bit. But you’re warm…” You answered as you rolled over and scooted closer to him. His heart thumped so hard; he was afraid it’d break free from his chest. “Can’t I…?” You mumbled against his chest. “Yes.” He replied, speaking almost on top of you. “Yes, you can. Come here.” He said while wrapping his arm around you and pulling you closer. “After this I’m taking you on a proper date.” He said with a smile and his muscles tense, but his hold tender. You turned you head a bit to nuzzle against his neck with a smile. “I’d like that.” Nozel hadn’t known that happiness such as that could exist, happiness such as he was feeling at that moment, let alone that there was such instore for him. A single tear rolled from the side of his cheek as this time he whispered into your ear: “I love you.” It was quiet and tender and soft, and he wasn’t entirely sure if it would reach you, but it did. “I love you too,” you replied before drifting back to sleep.

Coming Soon | NINETY-SIX:
First arrivals from our Spring 2019 Ready-to-Wear Collection arrive instore and online next week.
“For Spring, I was inspired by a television soap that was on in Australia in the late 70s called Number 96. It was naughty and irreverent and hilarious. It was even more appealing to me because as a really young kid I definitely wasn’t allowed to watch it! It was set in an apartment block of four in Paddington in the inner city of Sydney and explored storylines that were considered taboo at the time – sex, adultery, drugs and homosexuality. When we were researching, we found this great quote from the series launch campaign – “Tonight at 8.30 Television loses its virginity.” For a girl in the suburbs, it was all too brilliant.” – Creative Director, Nicky Zimmermann.

December 2020 - The Month of Celebration and The Month of Preparation for Revival Fire! As we walk into this beautiful season of Winter/Advent/Christmas, let us be reminded to not only celebrate but experience the Glory of God in a supernatural way. The old song says, "I'd rather have Jesus than silver or gold I'd rather be his than have riches untold I'd rather have Jesus than houses or land Yes I'd rather be led by his nail pierced hands Than to be the king of a best domain and beheld in sins dread sway I'd rather have Jesus than anything this world affords today." Last month is gone and is in the books! To God alone be all praise, honor, and glory for what is to be instore! We must put our complete faith and trust in the Master who came to this earth to born of virgin, to die a pure and spotless lamb, and rose as King of kings and Lord of lords. Revival is here! Revival is now! But, many hearts aren't prepared what it takes to experience true and authentic move of the Holy Ghost and Fire. Take time out of this busy time of year to pray and fast for your pastors and church leaders to get a burden for not a series of meetings, but for true full blown, red hot, Pentecostal Fire Revival. I'm praying for every Evangelist across this nation to see a increase in calls this month from Pastors booking them to go and spread the fire that has been locked up in their bones due to COVID-19 and see a nationwide explosion of the Spirit of the Lord. Get Ready, It's Time to Celebrate and Time to Prepare for a NationWide Revival. Many Blessings, Evangelist Christopher M. MIKE OLDFIELD Amarok - Store Display. Super rare Virgin UK original instore promotional display from 1990 -- measuring 30" x 20" this quite thin card display is designed to be folded 3 times along its vertical axis in order to construct a rigid triangular free-standing pillar -- this time-warp vintage example remains in near excellent condition with the double-sided sticky tape intact along the left edge. The corners are relatively clean and damage free, just some tiny creases but overall it's remarkably well preserved considering it's flimsiness and size! Keep it as is or fold into its designated format, the choice is yours. Week 3 lecture based around Sustainable Fashion
Sustainability
A lecture taught by Louise Martin, a PowerPoint presentation surrounding the idea of sustainability within today modern fashion industry. Including what I learnt from this lecture, real life examples and my own interpretations and opinions surrounding sustainable fashion.
Sustainability defines as the ability to be maintained at a certain level or rate, it’s the avoidance of the depletion of the worlds natural resources in order to maintain an overall ecological balance. In terms of sustainable fashion the definition remains the same however it can be defined as clothing, shoes and accessories that have been manufactured and marketed in the most sustainable and eco-friendly manner as possible, taking into consideration both enviromental and socio-economic factors and aspects. This sustainable process of fashion manufacturing implies and entails ongoing work to improve products life cycles, from raw material production, marketing, repairs, remake and recycling schemes. With little to no former knowledge and understanding of sustainable fashion I found myself facinated with the first two slides within this presentation as they enhanced my knowledge and awareness of the progression of sustainable fashion and the aspects it entails.
Chronologically commencing as a class we were made aware of the three aims that should minimize any undesireable enviromental effects from an environmental prespective. One way environmentalist belive will minimise any undersirable enviromental effect is by ensuring efficient and and careful use of natural resources e.g. water, energy land, soil, animals and plants. An addional environmentalists aim is to select renewable energy sources such as wind and solar at every manufacturing stage and finally to maximise repair, reuse and recycling of products and its corresponding components. I strongly belive that if more people started following and shadowing these aims, that the world we live in will be overall more sustainable and environmentally friendly therefore increasing our daily way of life. Something that stood out to me throughout this lecture was a quote by Marine Serre.“ I don’t want to make a garment that you know id going to be thrown away in two years”...” You see so much in the bin today. Maybe talent is making a garment out of basically nothing”. After being shown this quote in the presentation it made me consider the value recycling and how it takes more of a talent to transform an undesired garment into something new, innovative, stylish and on trend.
Stella Mcartney is a huge desginer fashion house that features in high end department stores such as Harrods and Selfridges. With such a mass loyal consumer following and thousands of pounds spent on marketing and production each season and launch, Stell McCartney centres her brands name surrounding sustainability and sustainable fashion resources. The brand has discovered that waste fabrics, plastics and fishing nets can be recycled and transformed into new nylon yarns, avoiding the landfill with a goal by 2020 to completely illuminate virgin nylon within their garments. As Stella McCartney continues to push the boundaries and challenge the status quo, other desginer brandnds and mainstream retailers are evolving and becoming more sustainable. Brands such as Selfridges, Zara and H&M all include ways to further improve sustainability making their brands more environmentally ideal with the movement of our planet.
Below is a photograph taken from the official Stella Mcartneys Instagram, captured at their recycling plant for Winter 2017 campaign shoot.
youtube
Through independent research I discovered that H&M was the first fashion brand in the world to create and promote a global garment collection in 2013. This collection included any unwanted clothes, materials and fabrics disregarding brand names or conditions and in return the individual who donated with receive a £5 gift voucher. Personally I love this idea introduced by H&M as I belive it encourages customers and consumers to help the sustainable fashion movement as they are being rewarded for their generosity and involmemt in the companies movement. In Addition to this global garment collection H&M also launches their exclusive conscious collection each year, that emphasise their ethis and morals supporting the current state of the plant and environment. The collection comprises of "high-end environmentally friendly pieces, aiming to move H&M’s fashion and sustainability development towards a more sustainable fashion future."
Below captures H&Ms Conscious exclusive window display range alongside the global garment collection bin situated instore.

COFFEE TALK [with Bob Bell]
Bob Bell is an entertainment industry veteran who spent many years as a music and video buyer for major retailers and distributors including Wherehouse Music, Virgin Megastore, Super D, and Alliance Entertainment. Bob recently completed a long-term consulting project managing and curating digital media content at Universal Music Group and is currently looking for his next professional adventure.
Q: Everyone in the music industry has a few favorite “industry moments”… what are a few of your favorite industry moments?
One of the biggest events we ever had at Wherehouse was the Depeche Mode instore appearance we did with KROQ and Warner Brothers at our West Hollywood store when “Violator” came out in 1990. Estimates of the crowd size ranged as high as 15,000 or more and we had to pull the plug on the event when we could no longer get fans safely in and out of the store. Watching the band members being rushed out of the store for their own safety was like being in a scene from “A Hard Day’s Night”.
I got to meet a great number of my heroes including Elvis Costello, David Bowie, Warren Zevon, and Paul McCartney, who were all just as lovely and charming as you would hope they would be. Bowie even played a Wherehouse convention when he was promoting a Tin Machine record. Perhaps even more rewarding was getting to bond with up-and-coming artists who would become some of my favorites, like Aimee Mann, Matthew Sweet, Veruca Salt and many many others.
Q: If you were to make a playlist of the songs that are part of your DNA, the comfort food that you keep coming back to, that never fail to move and inspire you, what would those tracks be?
Can I list 1000 songs? I’ll narrow it down to one song each from my top 10 favorite albums. Favorite album of all time is “Rust Never Sleeps” by Neil Young, best song on that record is “Powderfinger”. After that, “Five Years” from Bowie’s “Ziggy Stardust”, “Accidents Will Happen” from Elvis Costello’s “Armed Forces”, “4th of July” from Aimee Mann’s “Whatever”, “Evangeline” from Matthew Sweet’s “Girlfriend”, “And Your Bird Can Sing” from the Beatles’ “Revolver”, “Like a Rolling Stone” from Dylan’s “Highway 61”, “Intruder” from the third Peter Gabriel album, “Chardonnay” from Game Theory’s “Lolita Nation”, and “Sweet is the Night” from ELO’s “Out of the Blue”.
I’m also an unashamed fan of 70’s soft rock as you can see from my Spotify playlist here: https://open.spotify.com/user/vegasbob3000/playlist/6UmhulXmlqfE9P16rveQvW
Q: Are there any artists that never really made it, that came across your desk, that you wish people could hear and embrace.
Tons! Being a power-pop fan can be frustrating since those artists don’t always turn into commercial gold. One of my favorite bands going all the way back to my college radio days was Game Theory, whose leader Scott Miller passed away in 2013. I would always try to champion Game Theory and Scott’s later band The Loud Family. Omnivore Recordings has been doing a great job with reissues of the Game Theory catalog, and there’ll be a posthumous Kickstarter-funded release called “Supercalifragile” coming soon.
Q: Who was your mentor? Why? We learned a lot of this business together, but my partner at Wherehouse was our legendary Hip Hop and R&B buyer Violet Brown. We were an unstoppable team, like a two-headed monster.
Q: What’s the best part of being a buyer? Getting to hear all of the music that comes out and getting to hear it early is the best. You can’t put a price on it. When I was a kid, all I wanted to do was buy records. As a buyer, you get to do it with somebody else’s money.

Help Protect the Environment While Cleaning Your Teeth
Now you can help protect the environment while keeping your teeth clean and healthy. Walgreens has launched chain-wide its new Eco-Friendly & Sustainable Oral Care products, including Walgreens brand bamboo toothbrushes and flossers made from a bio-based material that is a plastic alternative. “Plastic pollution has become one of the most pressing environmental issues and our customers are looking for alternatives to disposable plastic products. We are seeing really great response from our customers, who want to reduce their environmental impact and are enthusiastic about eco-friendly options,” said Luke Rauch, Walgreens vice president for commercial strategy. The toothbrushes, which come in packages of one or two, have a handle made of bamboo, a biodegradable, eco-friendly material, and BPA-free nylon charcoal infused bristles. The flossers are made with bio-based material - including starch derived from corn and polypropylene – making them a more eco-friendly alternative for dental hygiene routines to help reduce plaque buildup and the risk of gingivitis. These eco-friendly products are just part of Walgreens comprehensive work to have a positive impact on the environment. Read more about these efforts in the Walgreens Boots Alliance 2019 Corporate Social Responsibility Report which is online at walgreensbootsalliance.com/corporate-social-responsibility. “Walgreens continues to evaluate our owned brand product portfolio in search of eco-friendly solutions. We are focused on creating items that are not only great quality for our customers, but environmentally conscious as well,” Rauch said. Walgreens is also expanding its Complete Home line of Eco-Friendly & Compostable Tableware, following enthusiastic customer response in test markets. The line includes plates, hot and cold cups, and bowls, available chain-wide, and cutlery and paper straws in select markets. The eco-friendly products can be composted in commercial composting facilities. Not only is Walgreens offering these compostable items, the company has also eliminated Styrofoam from its owned-brand household essentials product lines altogether. “We have taken a stand and we are eliminating polystyrene. The compostable tableware items resonate with our customers and allow them to reduce their carbon footprint. It’s important for us to stay on top of market trends, especially as they relate to the environment,” Rauch said. About Walgreens Walgreens (walgreens.com), one of the nation's largest drugstore chains, is included in the Retail Pharmacy USA Division of Walgreens Boots Alliance, Inc. (Nasdaq: WBA), a global leader in retail and wholesale pharmacy. Walgreens is proud to be a neighborhood health, beauty and retail destination supporting communities across the country, and was named to FORTUNE* magazine’s 2019 Companies that Change the World list. Approximately 8 million customers interact with Walgreens in stores and online each day. As of August 31, 2019, Walgreens operates 9,277 drugstores with a presence in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands, along with its omnichannel business, Walgreens.com. Walgreens also provides specialty pharmacy and mail services and offers instore clinics and other health care services throughout the United States, most of which are operated by our health care strategic partners. *© 2019, Fortune Media IP Limited. Game of Thrones Ep 2 thoughts
Game of Thrones
A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms
Episode two of Game of Thrones dropped on Sunday and we find ourselves on the brink of defeat by armies of the undead lead by the Night King. Plans are made, preparations are about as complete as possible and now all that remains is time to spend with friends, allies and old enemies. Bran confronts Jaime, the man responsible for pushing him out the window. Sansa and Dany clear the air about what is between them. Jaime and Tyrion reconnect. Brienne of Tarth finally gets her knighthood.
We the viewers are left with the last time we shall see these characters in one place and alive. Arya deciding that losing her virginity is appropriate, Jon Snow telling Dany about his real parentage and her reaction to that. The hound and Don Darrion having one last flagon of wine before the assault. Grey worm and Melisandre deciding what to do when its all over and what life has instore next for them.
For us the viewer its not about who dies next week, its who is going to still be alive. A ninety minute long episode, movie length and all to see who stands and who falls before moving on to Kings Landing to depose Cersei and her henchmen. This is probably the last time we shall see something like this on network television.
Like many others , over eight years in watching this show and I have forgotten more names than I can remember at a glance. Other series have had their finale seasons and have come away with less than stellar reviews, we have been forewarned that we are not going to be happy with the way this one will go down as well. But it would not be the first time in this shows history that we have been lied to , led down the garden path of expectations and come through the other side shaking our heads.
Come next Sunday we shall have a direction to the ultimate end, the only thing remaining will be the path to that end. Be it in Kings Landing, or slugging it out with the golden company many miles from the capital.

I rarely use my Blog for anything other than book related posts but I feel I need to share my home shopping experience.
Firstly I would like to make clear that the Manageress at Sainsbury’s Matlock was extremely helpful but was unable to physically do anything to help despite trying everything.
Secondly, I would ask that you forget we are talking about cigarettes here the product is not relevant to this. For those who don’t smoke all packs of cigarettes look the same now here are 3 different brands:
I have been shopping online with Sainsburys for over a year we have an Anytime Delivery Saver and spend approximately £200 a week online and instore (£9600 during the course of this delivery saver which expires at the end of November 2018). The deliveries are not very reliable we often get the wrong variety of dog food despite it being Do Not Substitute and other things have been wrong but we tended to let it go. So when we received the cigarettes on 12th October they looked the same and we had no substitutions so it wasn’t until we opened them that we realised they were wrong. We had been charged for Black Superkings and Black Superkings had been scanned in according to the till receipt but they delivered something totally different. Instead of 1 x 100 Black Superkings for which we had been charged £56.25 we received 1 x 100 Sterling Blue which they sell for £42.50 so we were overcharged £13.75 for those. Instead of 2 x 20 Black Superkings for which we had been charged £22.50 we received 2 x 20 Benson & Hedges Dual which they sell for £20.08. So despite being given the wrong products, we have also been overcharged £16.18.
I emailed a couple of times and filled in a couple of online forms and got no response. I rang the helpline and after being put on hold for long periods several times I was told that there was nothing they could do as the products had been opened. They did offer me a £10 voucher as a ‘gesture of goodwill’!! I told them to forget it. Below are the barcodes and till receipts, if you use a barcode scanner they come up as the brand it says on the packet so somehow Sainsbury’s managed to scan in Superkings and deliver something different. The evidence is there – getting them to admit it was a whole different ball game.
So I decided to try Social Media and so began a game where I was passed around from person to person via Messenger:
First up was SAL:
Then along came Drago:
Then on 17th we have Laura:
and a bit later on she is replaced by Marc
and a bit later Marc is replaced by Dani
Then we have Ewan closely followed by Gordy
and then Sas and then Gordy is back
RESULT!! except it isn’t because apparently, the refund was dependant on me taking the cigs back to Ripley because of course, it states that clearly doesn’t it? I obviously need to go to Specsavers.
So the bottom line is NO I didn’t get a refund because I am not driving 15 miles to Ripley to rectify THEIR mistake it isn’t on the way to anywhere I go and while I was waiting for the promised refund I gave the cigarettes away lol.
So the message is clear don’t shop with Sainsbury’s if you do check everything before the driver leaves. I have to admit I was very tempted to place another order and check every single item against the receipt while the driver stood there watching his route timing go out of the window but in the end I decided it would inconvenience people who were not part of this.
So back to Tesco I go I only changed because Dad decided he didnt like Tesco food any more but he has gone now. The silver lining is I get Virgin Flying miles with Tesco so another free flight coming up 🙂
IF YOU SHOP ONLINE AT SAINSBURYS READ THIS I rarely use my Blog for anything other than book related posts but I feel I need to share my home shopping experience.

Five million get free holiday perks with card rewards, but for how much longer?
Our research has found that almost half of people (43%) who got a credit card did so to earn rewards. An estimated five million used their points to get free flights and other holiday perks, 1.6 million enjoyed an entirely free holiday. But many used points to get free supermarket groceries, Christmas gifts and many other retail perks. But this comes as credit card providers reduce their reward schemes – apparently due to new rules pushing up their costs. Capital One was the first casualty, pulling its rewards scheme today, and RBS plans to cut their rewards scheme later in the year. Something for nothing? David Mann, Head of Money at uSwitch, says: “Getting something for nothing seems like a dream, but enjoying free flights or holidays just for putting the weekly shop on your credit card is a reality for many savvy spenders. “Reward cards are hugely popular, and it’s clear to see why. As long as you pay off your balance in full every month, using your credit card for everyday expenses – as well as big one-off purchases – can give you a real boost. “But with so many different schemes to choose from – from supermarket loyalty points, to airmiles or cold hard cash – it’s important to think about how much you’ll spend, and where. “However, with Capital One pulling their scheme in June, and RBS planning a similar move, these deals may not be around for ever.” There are still many credit cards offering reward perks left, we explain some of your options below, but it’s well worth comparing the entire reward card market. Supermarket cards Our research found 58% of people thought supermarket loyalty rewards offer the best value for money. This matches the results of our credit card customer service awards that firmly placed retailers ahead of the banks. Supermarket reward points can give substantial discounts on your spending or can be redeemed for day trips, holidays perks, free meals and other perks.
