Daphne’s life was perfect. She was finally happy. She had to be, her life was as good as it ever had been. It didn’t matter that her dad didn’t say goodbye before he moved in with his new girlfriend Allison, who she doesn’t think likes her very much, and lives in another state now. Who cared that all of her ‘friends’ don’t seem to include her in anything anymore and say things behind her back. She didn’t mind being alone all the time, she had her phone to keep her company. Her internet followers were never mean to her and always seemed to multiply every time she checked her social media pages. They loved Daphne and she had nothing to worry about. Her life was truly a daydream. This is what Daphne was thinking about when she opened her Instagram page to see what the most recent comment was.

@/ImATrollWhoBulliesKids thought she was annoying. Maybe Daphne was a little bit annoying and nobody told her. @/IHateSuccessfulPeople thought she was an ugly attention seeker. Hundreds of comments flooded Daphne, nitpicking her for everything. There were anonymous comments too, telling her how awful she was without ever revealing themselves. Maybe Daphne wasn’t as good as she thought. She really wasn’t good at anything. Daphne decided that she would change herself to be what she thought her perceived audience would want her to be, and changed who she was. It would make the world love her more, it was worth it. It was worth it and Daphne was happy. It was what she always dreamed of. She had to do something drastic, something no one could expect, something different. Then she would be happy and be able to finally be who she had always wanted to be. She would be perfect.

Violet Varmitech was worried about Daphne. She knew the power words could have on somebody and how they could affect them, especially at a young age. She was no stranger to criticism, working in The Lost Colony Outdoor Drama. Her ex boyfriend, Travis, further contributed, nothing she ever did was good enough for him. She began to spiral, going into a dark place, until she met Zach again. He was able to remind her of the amazing parts of the world, and taught her to love again. She loved him and her life more than she could imagine now. Violet worried that Daphne was spiraling headfirst into that dark place, and nothing anybody said would get her out of it. She loved Daphne since the day they met, with Daphne arriving four days later than Donita’s due date. “Fashionably late” as she said. She loved Daphne’s determination and tenacity, and how she can get so focused on a task, much like her husband. Violet even secretly ‘shipped’ Daphne with her youngest son, Vallen. She could tell Daphne was changing. She saw her spending less and less time with her family, and more and more on her phone, alone, reading comments. The comments could be a vile place, and Violet could only imagine the horrid things people were saying about Daphne, someone so kind and determined, and what she was absorbing. She knew she had to figure out a way to teach her about the internet more and fast.

You Can’t Spell Polin Without Colin

Let me be clear. This ain’t a Colin appreciation post. Colin is an entitled, selfish dweeb but even I can see from his POV.

And somehow the Polin fans who swear up and down they love him can’t.

That’s a perfect way to invalidate a man’s feelings. Let’s rage about misogyny but talk shit about guys who has feelings 😒. How is he a bitch boy for being upset at someone he loves for lying to him for years, even before they came intimate and when they were just friends.

He was open and transparent with Penelope every step of the way, bared his heart to her, was vulnerable with her and was happy to see that what he wanted was right there in front of him… only for him to find out she’s LW, the person who has been dunking on him and his family, LW whom he loathed. He cried ffs when he found out. The reason that hurt the most wasn’t that she was LW, it’s that she lied to him. She didn't spare a thought that he needed to know about such secrecy i.e, not giving a shit about his feelings. It mirrored exactly what Marina did. (On top of that, he realized that it was her that sent Marina to her doom) She didn’t reciprocate that same vulnerability he did for her and by the end of the season, still chose LW over him and he just had to sit there and take it.

You wanna talk about men not giving a shit about women’s feelings but it’s alright for women to do the same for men in the name of “girlbossing” 🤢

Colin in 2 weeks simmered down about the hurt Penelope has caused him while it took Penelope several months to get over one comment he said about her, which isn’t even detrimental because COLIN DOESN’T OWE PENELOPE A GODDAMN THING! You can’t get mad at someone who doesn’t want to date you. Who do you think you are to even believe you have a claim to someone like they’re a possession. She ghosted him for months over this while he had and did get over lies, shame, and betrayal in, again, a small amount of time. Who’s the bigger whiny bitch?

Staying mad for too long? He didn’t stay mad long enough! Please contextualize. This man has been in scheming scandals with the Featherington family since season 1 lol. People are forgetting the trauma that he got from the pregnancy scandal, mainly the embarrassment from it being exposed by LW and having the whole ton know his business, which is humiliating as fuck and made him look like a fool(this is why I keep telling you ding dongs to stop saying LW saved the Bridgertons, she did not!) He had to null the engagement with the diamond of the season.

The start of his hatred for LW started from season 1. Colin told Penelope that she should’ve told him to his face about the pregnancy.

Actually, she did not.

She tried to hint that Marina was still in love with a soldier, not “hey, the misses you trying to spit game at is preggo.” So his friend, knowing this info, instead of telling him the proper information privately to his face as a fricking friend should, printed out his business.

And let’s play devil’s advocate. Ok, Pen told Colin about the pregnancy and Colin didn’t listen. In the same season, we saw Violet do damage control and spinning the rumor windmill to help her daughter get the fuck away from Berbrooke. Penelope knows how supportive and protective the Bridgertons are with each other and also knows how much they like her since she’s friends with Eloise and Colin. Violet would’ve definitely listened, told Colin, and stirred something up to aid the situation.

But nah.

So that happened plus before that scandal came out, LW mocked Daphne for her lack of suitors and said Marina was incomparable, not Daphne. And then the Eloise scandal, all because of LW. Three Bridgertons struck. Even Season 3, LW talked shit about Colin being fake, so Penelope embarrassed him in front of the ton twice. And of course, she had an excuse, “I just wanted the old Colin back!” So you embarrassing him in front of the ton was gonna make him sweet and kind again? 😬

The woman he loves belittled him twice and clearly stands by it 'cause she’s not giving up LW, just not writing it under anonymity. 'So imma acknowledge that I hurt you, the person I love, but I’m not gonna do anything to fix it, but I want you to still support and love me, regardless of what I do,' is essentially what she's saying.

What utter shit, and then we got Pen stans/Polin fans: “Stfu Colin, your angst is ruining my fantasy ship, go kiss, finger, and fuck Penelope already.”

Oh Christ. It’s like whoever doesn’t cater to Penelope deserves the noose.

Where’s supportive wife Penelope? Where’s Penelope ‘I Love You’ Bridgerton? She has declared her love but hasn't really shown it throughout season 3. Show > Tell. Action > Words. With the lies told to him from past to current, this guy undoubtedly has trust issues. How can he believe her? We the viewers saw Pen Hilton pining after Colin through season 1 & 2, but Colin himself doesn't know that she liked him before then. He even said that he thought she wouldn't feel the same about him as he did about her. So when the feeling is finally mutual, Penelope just doesn't do much. It's like she tells him, "I love you" just so he can shut his fucking piehole.

We've seen, despite Colin being upset, him still loving her, wanting her and working through the pain so he can look at Penelope and not immediately think of LW.

"B-B-But, uh, the entrapment comment was too harsh!"

First off, you people act like you have never said mean things to someone out of anger during a fight.

Second, like how you guys say LW is harsh but tells the truth(which is a complete lie, but nothing surprises me anymore with this fandom) that comment was harsh, but he told the truth. She did trap him. While he did ruin her previous proposal, he did chase down her carriage, but right after he proposed, she blabbed to the whole ton the next morning about the engagement(this showed how much the Bridgertons are morons, but I digress). If anything happened, it’d be hard for him to back out without everyone knowing and questioning his honor. It’d be his second time cutting off an engagement and it’d be his 3rd time being humiliated.

He asked if she wanted to be intimate, she immediately said yes. Eloise told her to tell him even before they had sex, but she didn't. Penelope knew Colin hated LW but still agreed to sex before she told him. She didn't even tell him, he had to found out tailing her carriage! So screw you freaks, that comment was well needed for her ass. As said before, Colin has been duped by the Featherington family so him lashing out and saying that is him telling her, 'Prove to me you're not like Marina." (She isn't. She's worse).

"Book!Colin was more supportive!"

Of course he was; LW didn't hurt him, his family, or anyone else. LW wasn't vicious like she is in the show. When Book!Colin found out about LW, him and Penelope were still friends, they weren't engaged, they didn't have sex; Book!Colin didn't hate LW. He was just jelly that Penelope made a legacy own her and he was there still purposeless at age 33(something the show tried to emulate but fell flat in a pile of horse shit). The situation in the show is way worse than what it was in the book. Book!Colin would hate Show!Penelope.

Where was Penelope's support when she saw that he was emotionally damaged by the LW reveal? Where were her attempts to mend the drift when she saw that he wouldn't sleep with her in their marital bed? Where was the comfort when she saw him lying on the couch, mentally worn out? She just passed by him and even suggested leaving in separate carriages. She did not support him when he was at his lowest, his own wife. Now if the show showed Penelope trying to talk to Colin and comfort him and he responded, "Give me more time.”, then fine.

But that didn't happen. He had to be the one to fix the relationship when she was the reason he was depressed. He never considered giving up on her, clearly with him still marrying her and sleeping on the couch they screwed on right outside their room door where he could’ve slept in another room in that huge ass house. He wanted her to try and reconcile but Penelope gave him nothing.

But he’s being too sulky and not supportive enough though Penelope ain’t returning the favor.

We get drowned with LW drama with the Polin fans admonishing Colin for not being a proper pet to Penelope.

Isn't this show named Bridgerton? What in the fresh hell?

He chose her over his own pride, pain and emotions. Penelope didn't do the same but people want to act like Colin isn't supportive or barely supported her, when in a relationship, it goes both ways. His purpose shouldn't be to prop up Penelope but that's what the show limits him to, F his feelings, f his mental health, girlboss Penelope deserves her man and her HEA as if he's a reward or a consolation prize, not a person deeply hurt by someone he thought he knew.

Y'all are trash for this. After all what Penelope has done to him, you want him to get over it so quick so you can have more cringe romantic scenes and soulless sex scenes. It took Eloise a year to forgive Penelope(and it happened in the dumbest fashion, but that's another can of worms). Just because they're together doesn't mean a speedy recovery. Actually it's worse 'cause they are together. He even told Eloise that she’s lucky she’s never been in love; it hurt that much.

The fact he chose to stay is already a big step of him getting over it, but that’s not enough it seems. You want him to get over the hurt she did to him, the lies, the loss of his own agency ‘cause like it or not, Colin still wanted to marry Marina even after knowing the truth but Penelope took away his decision to ensure his availability for her. She embarrassed his family a good number of times. But hey, get over it Colin.

He’s second when it comes to Penelope. He asked this beotch to give up the gossip column, a thing that caused him and others pain throughout the years, to be with him, forget the past and start their new life together. Nope, she chose her career. LW is power and she still wants that manipulative power so take the L from your wife Colin. Her ego won the day, not their love; Penelope is Colin’s first. LW is Penelope’s first, get over it Colin. It’s harsh af knowing you’ll never be first in the heart of the woman that you love.

If anyone needs to get over anything, it’s Penelope. She should’ve been got over Colin’s comment, now stew in her own shit for months; she’s not entitled to his feelings. She should’ve gotten over the damn gossip column that does more harm than good ‘cause if she’s such a great writer, then explore other avenues of writing. You’re already established, it’ll be nothing of you for your works to become popular since the ton already knows you’re a great writer.

The damage for Colin is deep but he must get over it to be the cushion for Penelope, for him to be in the shadows so Penelope can take all the shine ‘cause “feminism woo hoo!” She’s a career woman and Colin’s purpose is just to love Penelope and nothing more.

Penelope, Penelope, Penelope, it’s all about Penelope.

Their relationship shouldn't be imbalanced like it is. The ship is called POLIN. Colin is just as important as Penelope, but the show and even the fans don’t treat it as such. He’s turned to some irrelevant sidekick who’s an accessory for Penelope and his purpose: well of course it is Penelope.

The show made him publish his journals at the end to be like “see look, he does have a purpose of his own!”, though we rarely saw a lead up to that. It’s addressed once, the LW drama comes in, that part of him is buried until the final episode where it’s framed that his anger was jealousy all along, not him having a vendetta against LW for harming him and his loved ones.

Bullshit on top of bullshit.

Yeah, maybe he should’ve went up there and stood with her when she was giving her god awful speech, but his ‘If my only purpose in life is to love a woman as great as you’ toxic feminism speech would’ve just dulled it. Plus, I don’t think people know how abusive that speech is.

They should’ve stood together, Queen deus ex machina gives her pardon, and then he gives her a speech about how the wound is still there but he knows it’ll heal, to be honest with each other going forward, to put the past to rest and continue on into the future, hand in hand as Mr and Mrs. Bridgerton. Cringe, but at least love is the focus. Him being the man behind the woman instead of the man beside the woman undermined their love story and undermined the ridiculous feminism narrative too, sacrificing the equality aspect of both of it.

I’m just ranting at this point but anyway, this ain’t the Penelope show. Give Colin some fucking grace like you do your Mary Sue.

my theories for Bridgerton S3 pt2

might be a bit spoiler-y, so don't read if you want to be 100% in the dark (which is fair, i wish i had that kind of self-control)

my guess on what's gonna happen based on the teaser for pt2 and some photos that were released and then deleted from different ig accounts (about which i know thanks to Sammy Bates's videos):

afer Colin announces the engagment, Eloise and Pen have the arguement where El asks "does he know?" - Pen tells her she's gonna stop, that she will write her last column where she will say goodbey, she'll maybe even use a line from the books - "i cannot make heads or tails from a world where Penelope Featherington will marry a Bridgerton" (i'm paraphrasing). Eloise isn't happy but is willing to accept this for the time being

Queen is gonna be displeased with this - one of her few entertainments is going away? no way! we're gonna hunt her down using the ton and 5 grand!

Cressida gets on the train, El refuses to help her (saw this here, sorry, don't remember the user, but their friend from Ireland is a reporter and saw the whole season an told her what happened, apparently; plus one of the photos in Sammy Bates video is of what Cressida has written as LW), and this fake Whistledown is what gets delivered when Colin is looking scared or whatever around the 0:32 mark in the teaser for pt2 (see attached picture). Also, i think this whole scene is happening during their engagement ball or something similar, but also might be on their wedding, but i hope it's before the wedding

Pen gets angry, because no way is she letting Cressida of all people take her work, and decides to publish one more time. Colin finds out (one photo from Sammy's video is of Colin seein Pen in the printer shop with her blue cloak on), que Carriage Scene 2.0 (i heard there might be another one, but i don't recall whether it was just a someone saying "if only" or if it was someone who said they knew it was gonna happen). They fight, they take time apart, they'll make up. Sometimes during this Colin starts to figue oout "shit, i wanna be a writer", and Pen releases her pamphlet about Cressida not being LW

Cressida figures out Pen is LW and starts to blackmail her. Pen freaks out, Colin tells her to chill, he's got it covered (he loves to save Pen, this is basically another of his wet dreams coming true), he plans to tell everyone so Cressida won't be able to hold it above their heads, he tells Anthony and the rest of the family (at this point i'm just following the book's plot)

Pen has no idea wha Colin has planned, is very stressed, faints, everything ends up well. Her faintin was because she's pregnant (another user pointed out that in regency era stories fainting often meant that that chracter is pregnant and she doen't know yet), she's the one to give birth to a boy (her sisters have daughters), and she's the new Lord Featherington's mama

Bridgertons' reaction to who LW is

i also read somewhere that different people will find out who LW is and there's gonna be an array of reactions to the news. So, here are my guesses at he reactions:

Anthony - shock, just shock. He'll be looking at Colin for 5 minutes and just asking what??! with question marks instead of pupils

Benedict - he's gona laugh his ass of

Colin - anger, betrayal, jelaousy, acceptance, pride

Daphne - no Daphn this season, so no reaction. shame

Francesca - calm surprise

Gregory - he won't care that much, he's not that interested in gossip

Hyacinth - she's gona be over the moon. Her new sister is Lady Fucking Whistledown?! Fuck yeah!!! (she won○t be too happy about having to imitate glue, though. IYKYK)

Violet - she'll try not to lose her cool, and will be mostly perplexed. It's a depth of Penelope she never expected to exist, but at the end of the day, Colin loves her and that's all that matters to Mama Bridgerton

Kate - Kate's gonna be probably happy there's another person with more than half a braincell in this family, and won't be angry (there wasn't that many bad things Pen wrote about the Sharmas)

Also, I very much hope for bi!benedict to happen this season. if it doesn't i'll survive it, but it would just make sense if it did

So, I know we bully the Bridgertons in the isekai au because the Spouses want nothing to do with them and reject all their attempts (which I find hilarious because I enjoy making them suffer)

But how do you think the Spouses would start falling in love with them? What are the things that make them "click" and see their respective Bridgerton in different lids?

So a big part of the change of perspective for the spouses is gonna back to two things. The first is the root between this divide between the two families, and that is Portia's fear for her family and the relationship she shares with Violet. Until that has some change in it, the spouses are almost guaranteed to be at arm's length from the Bridgertons. The champions for helping to solve that mess will be Lady Danbury and Mary. Though to be honest that's probably just a fun game for them or at least for Lady Danbury who lives for the drama and is the whole reason this started when she isekaied Portia.

The second thing is that the spouses have to learn to grow beyond the family and beyond the mothers. Now that is to say they don't love them and will always be there for the family. But part of growing up and moving forward is learning to move beyond your parents, which a part of that is starting a family of your own.

There are little things that help with that second part. Things that helped the spouses see beyond the Bridgertons public personas.

For Kathony it's when Kate sees Anthony not as the viscount but as the man who got thrown into a seat of power and essentially fatherhood before he was ready. She saw it when the siblings were playing pall mall, and she saw it again when she stumbled upon Anthony during a stormy night in the library. She was trying to find a distraction while he was letting himself have a vulnerable moment with some of his father's old things.

For Benophie, I want to say it's when Sophie discovers Benedict's sketches. You can see a lot of what the artist does in their work. There was such beauty in them it left Sophie stunned. Especially when she got to the sketches of herself. She never knew she could be so beautiful to someone.

Weirdly for Polin, I can see the change happening when Colin blows up on Penelope. Penelope recognizes Colin as a snake charmer. He uses pretty words, and while she loves pretty words, she thought there was nothing else. Then, one day, Colin caught her by surprise when he followed her doing some of her more illegal activities, and he blew up on her. It's not the fact that he was angry at her but the fact that he was angry because of his fear of her safety. The multi-level emotions she had never seen from him before were now there.

Saphne's change came when Daphne punched Simon and gave him a black eye. (He deserved it. Also, Simon has a strength kink, and no one is changing my mind on that) All the time Simon has known Daphne, she has been the model debutant. (We all know she has a body count in a literal sense, but he doesnt) This is the first time Simon gets to see more of the real Daphne.

Philoise happens right around the twins' birth. George died in war, leaving behind a pregnant and unwed Marina. Marina sadly passed in childbirth. Phillip adopts the twins, and Eloise, in a roundabout way, comes to his aid with parenting books or the closest thing to it in that time. The twins also take a liking to Eloise. We'll Phillip have to listen then, babies do generally have a good judge of character on who is safe.

Franchael happens around the time of John's death. Francesca, in this timeline, fell in love with Michael first but was still good friends with John. Michael, whose loyalties lied with his found family, still loved his cousin, and their relationship actually improved when Michael started living semipermantly with the Featheringtons. Mourning together over a loved one can bring people closer.

The babies really didn't have a big defining moment. They followed the older ones' leads when the two sides started getting friendlier, so did they. Being younger, they had more time to let things take a more or less natural course.

I love the fact that Violet favorite children are colin because he is most like Edmund and Violet he’s a combination of them the romantic side of Edmund and the good kind giving side of violet seeing the best in everyone and always being forgiving, Eloise because she’s most like younger her and Benedict because he looks the most like Edmund which gives her so much comfort. Colin being everyone favourite why wouldn’t he be Daphne book Eloise Benedict all say or show he’s their favorite especially his mother as he should be!

Show Eloise fav is Benedict the fact not a single one of the siblings has Anthony as favorite not bit surprising really he’s always been cruel trying to sell his sister off talking down on belting Benedict about his love for art

I get why Violet who clearly loves him but still not as much as the other older boys because he just got a title after his father di*ed and was gonna decide to k1ll her unborn child the last thing she has connecting her to Edmund, she’s a mother duh ofc she loves him but that’s just to evil also the fact he has the personality that only a mother can love don’t help him not being his siblings favourite always forcing them to do things they don’t want or feel like it really is just heychint that likes him and that’s only because she doesn’t know her beloved big brother tried to end her life before she was even born I know she wouldn’t feel the same if she ever found out about that so kinda wish she finds out in her season that would be a scandal so good for the ton/us!

Love how Colin was the only child to seek out his mom advice on love romance and life anythin really and how she always seeks him out for comfort and for someone to talk too they have such beautiful relationships 🥹🥹

Are you going to explore Polin's obsession with eachother from an outside perspective? more umportantly Colin's obsessiveness because speaking as someone who would be labeled a wallflower if I were to live in ye old England, wanting to see an outside perspective (maybe Lady Danbury's cuz that woman sees all ) is tremendously gratifying. Like I want him publicly pining over her and I would love seeing one half of the ton completely gobsmacked at the utter devotion Colin is showing to Pen and Pen alone while the rest who knows Colin (eg. his family) are just shrugging and are like "I knew it was gonna happen eventually."

Have you somewhat snuck into my mind and had a peek at my muse? How did you know this is exactly what I planned for Chapter 13? lmao. I intend for Chp 13 to be from everyone's POV but POLIN until the very end where I might leave it on a Cliffhanger. Again, I never know what's gonna make the final cut of a chapter until its all written but you can expect something along the following:

Miss Felicity is only the beginning of Poor Colin's torment (she is very much in bratty little sister mode again)

And she'll have the brilliant help of her two eldest sisters Prudence and Phillipa who are determined to make Colin work for Pen's attention. (They missed having her focus, and ever since Pen fancied herself in love with him, she's been obsessed with the Bridgertons. Its only because they love their little sister they are accepting the match lol)

Also, let's not forget that Penelope technically has brothers now too, in the form of her sister's husbands.

Then there's Ant, Ben and Simon trying to make sure Colin stays gentlemanly and proper while making his intentions to court Penelope clear at the ball.

We also have Eloise, who while not actively going out of her way to interfere, 100% will be offering her unwanted commentary. Cue Daphne with her ill-timed attempts to keep Colin from becoming an unhinged spectacle. Add a dash of Hyacinth adding fuel to the fire with her misguided assumptions about Colin's interest in Felicity Featherington.

haha, i came across this post while looking for something else, so why not add to it:

-- shared duties fic has been abandoned lmao, i couldn't take the level of angst/whump (shockinggggg i know) and i actually could just never get the start right. so i may as well ramble about it now, here; i wanted anthony and benedict to share duties after edmund died, but that was literally never gonna happen when they're 18 and 16 (like, anthony wouldn't want to drag his younger brother into it, esp when they're all grieving). so my dumbass brain decided to give him a fucking chronic illness (so that he would HAVE to allow benedict to help), and then it was just so depressing to write. but i wanted a&b being close af and drifting away from violet, such that when she came back on the scene in ch 3, a&b would basically have their own silent language/methods of communication (even more so than before/canon since imo they are really close) and they would essentially sorta end up excluding her. (and ch 2 was just gonna be benedict being like to anthony 'i understand why you want to die (bc you think you're not going to get better) and i don't like it but i won't stop you if you really want to' which is basically in contrast to ch 1 when he was essentially like 'i don't want you to die because i don't want to be the viscount' (he's 16 okay)). anyway, this fic was also supposed to have some cute moments with colin and daphne helping out more. and gregory calling benedict 'papa' and violet just being like !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i have four WIPs and at 11.13pm they have all stopped looking appealing:

- the madhouse fic (kathony, 1808, (pretty huge?) canon divergence)

- benedict the artist (a&b, modern AU)

- kathony parliament bill (if shonda can get rid of racism, then i too can make homosexuality legal)

- anthony + francesca + piano (just because i wanted to see anthony playing (or trying to play lol) the piano (and then i discovered that twinkle didn’t exist in the form that we know it yet, and für elise was written in 1810, and this fic is set in 1809… 😂)) (<- i was working on this one today!)

anyway i’m just writing this because for the past few days i was starting new fics whenever i didn’t feel like working on my existing fics, and now… we have a horde. but so far it’s a good horde.

i think i might wanna try have another go at the madhouse fic soon. i think/hope that once i get past this first meeting between kate and anthony, it might go smoother… maaaybe. at least for a little while. i have an urge to like, write some poor little meow meow anthony, so…

i can’t stop thinking about this disaster of a man, so here is part 2 of things anthony bridgerton did this season that made me feel like crawling up a wall! (part 1 is here)

i’m just gonna include every long, lingering glance at kate from across whichever room they were in. he literally could not stop himself from finding her in a crowd and damn if that doesn’t make me feel things

the absolutely illegal graceful sweep of his leg he does during his and kate’s first dance

how could i possibly have forgotten the scenes by the lake! him staring with so much open jealousy as kate and dorset were taking their boat ride. but most specifically him making up the excuse that “that knot will never hold” and then literally putting himself between dorset and kate so HE could be the one to help kate out of the boat. truly insane of him to make up a lame ass excuse just so he could hold her hand <3

to add onto that, him being so distracted by kate and her yanking her hand out of his grip that he tripped over newton and fell in the water. the big smitten dumbass energy is at it again

in the library during the storm when he showed up looking like THAT. no notes

during that same scene, he lingers in the doorway for a while. he knows he should leave, but he doesn’t, and when it almost looks like he will, he steps into the room instead. gravity just keeps pulling them together, he just can’t help himself from being drawn to her

asking daphne “and what kind of feelings are those?” like full on fucking CLOWN BEHAVIOR. he literally struck daphne speechless with his stupidity

the one scene where he’s lying on his back in bed, very clearly thinking about kate, and he just does a little lip bite. the manwhore behavior of it all (i say w complete and utter affection <3). sidenote: more men bite your lip whilst thinking about how badly u want to kiss ur crush challenge

after being explicitly scolded by lady danbury and told to stay on opposite sides of the room from kate, and he says it won’t be a problem— flash forward to when they’re at the art museum and he very clearly and with so much purpose finds kate in the crowd to talk about how they’d kissed. like he really is so stupid i want to give him a kiss on his silly little forehead bc he is so hopelessly in love w kate, and honestly same

the “Go. In. Side.” that last thread of honor he mentioned is about to snap and all that.

the way he says “that scent… Lilies,”. He’s obsessed. I’m obsessed. Jonathan Bailey i am mentally sending u a fruit basket for your acting choices, thank u sir

the “all i find myself thinking about, all i find myself being able to breathe for… is you,” after daphne told him love is like “if you say she is the one in whose presence you cannot properly think, or even breathe” and violet said “edmund was the air that i breathed”… yeah. parallels that make my brain feel like it’s inside a blender and whatnot

when he takes off kate’s glove and then guides her hand to his mouth. man was more than happy to be on his knees for her. i just yeah okay yep

anthony’s reaction when he hears that kate woke up. i don’t know what to say other than i cried and the way that he breaks because he’s been scared to love for so long but he’s more scared of losing kate, and the way his face crumples and the way he holds his head in his hands and when he cried after bottling everything up for so long. yeah i feel super unnormal about this, thank you for asking

the way that he doesn’t even have the words to propose to her properly so he just holds the ring box out to her insistently and says her name. man is so overcome with emotions, he’s so flustered, he can’t even muster up a proper proposal

after kate gives him that look during their dance in the finale (you know the look, the “god, i don’t want to let you go, i don’t want this dance to end” look), and anthony’s jaw clenches and he has to close his eyes for a moment. Trying to accept that this might be the last moment they are able to be close like this, hold each other like this. there is so much said and neither of them utter a single word and it makes me feel crAZY

after kate says “i love you too,” and you can see him start to say “you love me too?” but he can’t even get it out, the breath is literally knocked out of him with the realization that she loves him too. the fact that he handed her his entire heart and she accepted it and he’s struck speechless, i simply cannot handle it

speaking of the finale, when he says “you must feel it. because i do” and places his hand on his heart. idk why this gets to me. something something about anthony not allowing himself to follow his heart for so long, and finally doing it, and also the parallel to the bee scene with kate placing her hand over his heart. yeah

the way he says “is that a promise, kathani sharma?”. once again: no notes. other than i am on the f l o o r thinking about how fond and adoring and in love he sounds

In the simmering update I imagine after Kate and Anthony left there was a sibling debrief. Just like utter chaos of being like “THERES MORE THAN ONE OF HIM” “MUM WHERE WERE YOU HIDING HER?” “THEY GONNA MARRY”

Okay but can we see the Bridgerton family response when Anthony and Kate are gone??

Ooof you know the Bridgertons were absolutely baffled when their brother showed up with a beautiful woman tucked under his arm. A Beautiful woman who wasn't trying to get away from him at all.

Violet hadn't been able to stop staring all afternoon. No since Anthony had tugged Kate into the kitchen by the hand, letting his arm drape over her shoulders, their fingers still intertwined at her waist.

She'd been watching them carefully of course, ever since that day when she'd walked into the kitchen to find them with their lips nearly brushing the room filled with tension. And honestly, she hadn't had to look very closely at all to see the signs of it. The way Anthony's eyes tracked Kate hungrily around the restaurant was telling enough let alone the moans and gasps she heard coming from Anthony's office more often than she'd liked to admit, Sprinting down stairs trying not to think about the gasp of Daddy she'd heard.

And honestly, she'd had enough. It was one thing to want to stay in a new relationship bubble: It was quite another to pretend you weren't together when Anthony hadn't stopped smiling for weeks. So she'd asked Kate, and after a stuttered attempt at rejection: Kate had agreed

And she hadn't been wrong. She'd known it from the moment Anthony scooted into the kitchen, followed by Kate and a dog. The very last thing Anthony ever would have been seen in the company of. Her hissed threats to her other children had been it.

"If you scare Kate off, so help me."

"We don't even know who Kate is?" Daphne had said a little bemusedly.

"She works with Anthony, and I'm certain she's the love of his life. So best behaviour, everyone. No one is to be themselves!"

Anthony hadn't let go of Kate's hand all afternoon, kept his left arm slung over her shoulders, kept their fingers intertwined together while they ate. He'd grinned brightly at his siblings, laughed at Kate's jokes, thrived forward when she teased him. Watched his eyes flutter closed as she kissed his chin, catching him off guard. And for just an afternoon: Anthony was back. So much so she'd half expected Edmund to walk through the door.

"Mum, Kate and I are gonna head off." Anthony said quickly, his free hand ruffling his hair seconds after Kate whispered in his ear, a slightly dazed look on his face. "We wanna um- Yeah we wanna hang out."

"Jesus fucking christ." Kate hissed, nudging him in the ribs as she turned back towards the family. "It was so lovely to meet you all."

"You'll come next week?" Violet had asked pointedly, ignoring Anthony's

"Mum."

Kate nodded, as Anthony stepped closer to her again, like he had been drawn there with a magnet. "of course."

And the second the front door had closed all hel, had broken loose.

"Alright, Who the fuck was that? Because it sure as hell wasn't Anthony!" Eloise huffed still staring at the door.

"I was a little unsettled by all the smiling I have to say." Colin hummed, "I wasn't sure his face could actually do that?"

Violet rolled her eyes, "Do not ask your brother about this. I'm warning you. It's very fragile."

"Mum, One of the most beautiful women I've ever seen walked into this house and ate with her non dominant hand to hold hands with Anthony! We're startled!" Daphne was still staring a little open mouthed after them. "Where did you even find someone as exacting as Anthony?"

Violet shrugged, "She walked into the restaurant for an interview one day and the minute I saw them together it was... something else." She said honestly, "So obviously we need to make sure this goes well. You know what he's like!"

"To be fair, she seems pretty into him." Gregory hummed a little too loyally.

Benedict scoffed, "That's actually the most baffling part of it all."

But apparently they weren't the only ones who saw it, because barely a month later Mary Sharma stood beside her, celebrating Kate's birthday.

"Sorry, I just thought I'd come over an introduce myself." Violet said a little awkwardly as Mary stood staring at a picture in the About Our Family section, her eyes fixed. "I'm Violet, Anthony's mother, the owner."

Mary looked up in surprise, her eyes flicking back to the table where Anthony had snuck out of the kitchen to join them towards the end of service, his arm slung over the back of Kate's chair, leaning forward until his lips brushed Kate's in a gentle kiss.

"Kate's such a lovely girl, we're very lucky to have her."

Mary hummed, nodding as she held her hand out. "It's lovely to meet you, Violet. I think the two of us should start getting along. Because whether she knows it or not: My daughter's in love with your son."

Hear me out for season 3:

Kate’s pregnant and thriving. Girl’s never been better. She’s learning to be Lady Bridgerton, she’s getting along with the Bridgerton family, (sidebar: I’m starting to think we’re not gonna get Number 5…which will be ironic given how Daphne rejected a suitor in S1) maybe she even trying to help Benedict find his Lady in Silver.

Anthony is stressed. Haunted by the memory of Violet laboring with Hyacinth all alone. This sudden feeling of what if this is his father’s legacy for him. So he’s hovering over Kate, over his family, making sure in the event of his sudden death-should Kate have a boy or girl, she’s cared for, that Benedict is prepared for suddenly inheriting the title if it comes to him, that finances for everyone down to Hyacinth are settled.

Basically its Anthony is spiraling for 9 months. Until Kate is like, I’m tired of all of whatever this is. I need you to tell me what’s happening and you’ll tell me because you proposed to my sister.

And then basically just insert the end speech of TVWLM here with a few changes to make it fit and you’re golden.

And when the baby is born, Kate suggests Edmund and everything comes full circle. Also maybe this way we could have Jonathan Bailey crying again. He’s just so good at it🥺😂❤️

The Moment I Knew// Anthony Bridgerton - Chapter 1

At the beginning of Season your mother had been frantic; it was your first season, but with an older sister still unwed after her fourth, she was adamant that you marry as soon as possible – to ‘make the most of your youth and beauty.’ Following your debut at court she had circled the floor with you at every ball, thrusting you into the arms of any unsuspecting gentleman who so much as smiled at you. Little did she know that your heart may already fully belong to another. Another whom you had known since you were both in leading strings, one who had tormented and teased you through your youth but had grown silent and stoic since the untimely death of his father.

You had first seen Anthony Bridgerton again at your debut. Despite the silence from her brother you had retained correspondence with Miss Daphne Bridgerton, and wished her luck as she walked past you on her way to the doors with her mother. You swallowed a deep breath as the doors were re-opened for you next; the scrutiny of the Court and accompanying families made you nervous but as you looked to the right you locked gazes with a pair of deep brown eyes you had not seen since you were 16. His eyes followed you on your way to the Queen, you could feel them burning into you as you watched her smile and bless you. Turning to exit you looked over and saw him again. His expression unreadable but his eyes just as fixed. You had not seen him in so many years but what was once a girls crush came flooding back right away as you tried to regain composure and look ahead of you.

 The evening of your first Ball he didn’t approach you, having Daphne to accompany and guide, but you could feel his glare from across the room. Only when your mothers met in the middle to discuss any potential suitors did he bow and greet you like a gentleman. Taking the liberty of the distraction he asked how you were. Where once had been a carefree young man, he had been replaced by a stiff, conforming gentleman- head of his household and in keeping with societies expectations. That wasn’t the Anthony you had known. His façade loosened after Daphne joined your conversation, and completely crumbled when his two younger brothers intervened to come and poke fun at their big brother and his enormous sideburns; the smile you had known since childhood returning to his face as he gazed up at you laughing with his family.

You had always loved the big Bridgerton family, all of them feeling like an extension of your own. You had especially been friends with Benedict growing up, being closer in age to him and Colin, he always tried to protect you from his older brothers more bullish jesting; indeed, having no brothers of your own Benedict had adopted you as yet another sister to look after.

Looking back at Anthony you watched in fondness as his eyes crinkled at the sides with laughter at one of Colin’s drier japes, before flushing as he caught you staring at him. Despite the long glances you had been giving each other all evening, Colin Bridgerton was the first to offer his hand for a dance. Taking his arm, he escorted you to the floor where you joined the cotillion.

“Miss Y/N is a fine young woman is she not, brother?” Benedict asked, none too subtly. Anthony side eyed his with suspicion at the direction of the conversation.

“Yes, quite. I’m sure she will have no problem finding a match.” He gritted out, taking a sip of wine.

“It is a wonder then, you did not ask her to dance yourself, brother.” Benedict mocked, turning to face Anthony with a tilt to his head. That roughish smile that always preluded trouble graced his face as he turned back to watch the dance and sip his own wine.

“I do not dance.” Anthony said bluntly, finishing his glass. Just then he spotted his old school chum, Simon Bassett across the room, and left Benedict swiftly to greet him.

The following week you found yourself at Bridgerton House, having afternoon tea with Daphne Bridgerton and her mother. The warm spring was beginning to turn into summer and the younger Bridgerton’s, and Colin, had flung the French doors open and galloped onto the extensive lawn to run about. The Bridgerton’s had always had such fine sweets and cakes, all of them having a hereditary sweet tooth, and after a long tea you sat in peace discussing the next ball and the latest Whistledown. Only a short time after a footman disturbed you to inform the Ladies Bridgerton that a visitor had arrived for Miss Daphne. No sooner announced, than Lord Berbrooke broke into the room, his presence made all of you tense, and a little queasy, and as you took you leave of the room you sent a small, sorry, smile to Daphne.

You wandered the quiet halls of Bridgerton House before coming to the library. Slipping in you enjoyed the quiet and far away laughs of children, as your eyes scoured the bookshelves. You barely heard the door open before a gruff cough asserted that someone was behind you and you turned to see Anthony Bridgerton. He stood there, purposefully but without further words, giving you a chance to take him in. He had forgone his jacket in his own house; a look which, although proper, was still foreign and relaxed to your eyes, although your attire, sans jacket and gloves was surely the same. “Your Lordship.” You curtsied.

Anthony was dumb-struck. He hadn’t expected to walk into his own library and see you there; your hair in some sort of cascade down your neck as you look up at his extensive collection. He was midway through rolling up his shirt sleeve when he saw you, a glint of sun through the tall windows acting like a spotlight on your gown, you were just a beautiful as the last time he saw you. You had grown into an elegant lady, but the wild streak that had caused you all so much mischief in your youth was still there; if he looked dep enough. Snapping himself out of his trance he heard you speak. “Miss Y/N” he bowed “I did not realise you were still with us.”

“Yes. Your mother insisted I not leave on Lord Berbrooke’s account, and so I found my way here. I hope my presence here is not an inconvenience too you.”

“Of course not.” He said, moving around the table towards you “is there anything I can help you with?” You looked into his eyes for a moment as they held yours before turning back to the bookshelves.

“I am happy to browse Sir, I hardly know where to start.” You concluded, reaching out for a book on a high shelf. You struggled to reach it and stretched on the toes of your slippers to try. The warmth emanating from Anthony surrounded you as you felt him come close behind. He reached up over you and plucked the book from the shelf, lowering it down to your reach. His breath fanned across the back of your neck making your small hairs stand on end as goosebumps rippled over your flesh. Anthony tracked your reaction closely, not having meant to become this close to you but now finding himself unable to move. “Here.” He whispered, his lips almost grazing the shell of your ear “And please. Call me Anthony.” Your light scent was intoxicating to him and he could feel the warmth radiating from your skin onto his lips. He closed his eyes and drew a breath to steady himself, pulling back a little so he did not break his composure and overstep the mark.

Your head turned slightly at his words. You could see him out of the corner of your eye, his eyes burning into your skin and making you feel hot all over. As you reach up to take the book from him he let his hand graze down yours, his finger lightly trailing your un-gloved arm. “Anthony” you gasped in a breath; turning to face him. He was still so close to you, closer than any gentleman had been before, but you couldn’t bring yourself to care. It felt so right, having him close to you, his lips slightly parted as he drew a gentle breath – his cravat loose and shirt sleeves rolled up showing so much more skin than was proper, on refection. Your eyes trailed to a small triangle of chest hair, visible in the gap, your breath caught in your throat as you thought about what was under his shirt. Your eyes flicked up to meet his and he was already staring at you; a twinkle in his dark eyes letting you know he could read your mind.

Anthony brought a hand up to brush at the curls on your neck; gently pushing them off your shoulder and exposing the smooth skin of your collarbone to his gaze. Slowly, he leaned in and pressed a feather light kiss to the base of your neck. His lips, pillow soft, enflamed your skin and made your blood burn within you. He pulled back, ever so slowly, bringing his deep gaze back up to your eyes, gauging your reaction to his actions. The air was thick between you and you wanted nothing more than to feel his lips on every inch of you skin twice over. Just as you wrestled your demons against leaning into the touch a shout from the parlour broke both of your attentions and made you both whip your heads around to the door left ajar.

“ANTHONY!!” Violet shouted for her son. He stepped back with a shake of his head, clearing the fog of your union and rushing to tend to his mother.

S2 WISHFUL THINKING

hey hi hello! i haven’t really been active on tumblr but i wanted to get back into the swing of being active and posting often. so.

i decided i will take note of some of my predictions, hopes, wishes etc. for Season 2 of Rainbow High!

so i kinda wanna just cover the things we canonically have seen aka specific events and drama that has gotten introduced

- The New Roommates / Series 3 Girls

i feel like we will definitely see more of them within the coming episodes. rainbow high literally advertised the new teams as like… i think the second or third teaser for the new season

it’s interesting to me because. this makes me think of What The Runway Project is? what could it possibly be? i believe i made a post about this in the past but the main theory (and theory i believe the most in) would be a Stage Production of sorts. i mean… it makes sense!

the twins are both Performing Arts focus and are definitely the antags this season. so why wouldn’t they cause trouble in regard to a stage play? plus, bella is back. she’s literally a set designer! we have never seen her do any set designing (other than making a sketch) so it would be fun to see that! if river were to get more focus this season, he would definitely have an outlet to channel his Performing Arts creativity! plus… Daria is a song writer so like. imagine if we were to get music out of that? please. the possibilities are endless.

im also eager to see the series 3 girls dynamics. like are the rest of the girls (gabriella, georgia, emmy and daphne) all roomed together? do they get along? will they all be just as dramatic as stella, sheryl and daria’s dynamic?

but anyway. whatever the drama and the semester project is, the new teammates definitely seem to be playing a crucial role in this season.

- The Twins

i’m actually really eager to see more of them. i feel like not enough people are talking about them? season 2 is actually really interesting so far…. maybe more so than season 1… and i feel like we are going to have to thank the twins for that at some point lol

like. idek what they’re planning on doing but. i’m excited to see what it is! they’ll probably be involved in the semester project or at least causing problems to all of the roommates and teams. they’ll definitely have something going on with bella. and it seems that they have a good bond with karma (after the KWK we got). so maybe they’ll have input in any potential drama with Karma. which leads me to

- Karma VS. Violet

so. this drama has been teased at for like. ever. for what feels like forever.

this moment in Karma’s bio PLUS the commentary about violet from her and the twins in the recent KWK episode. but anyway. i’m actually super interested in whatever this drama could be??? like. why is karma watching.

we know violet adores karma, she really wants to have her in the vi life. so i’m sure she basically looks up to her! but like. will karma actually genuinely be nice with violet? keep a distance? make remarks like she did in her recent vlog? i don’t know. idk what to expect. of course it’ll have to do with vlogging or something.

- Bella

ok so there is a few things to note with bella. i’m still interested in if bella will accept to do an interview with Karma for her vlog? if so, i wonder how that would go. and i wonder how violet would feel about it. like the very last time bella was featured in vi’s vlog was on a bad note (even though they made up) but like. idk AAA

also i’m wondering how bella is gonna handle being back to rainbow high. because so far it seems she’s having trouble fitting in. will the key to her fitting in be Jade? will Jade help her figure everything out? or would it be someone else?

as much as i’d love Jade to be the reason Bella starts to feel more at home, i also love the other idea of Amaya being the reason bella feels comfortable again. Amaya was once the new girl (and of course in an awkward position because she was essentially a replacement for bella’s spot in the runway group) but. she didn’t fit in. she had to find her place at rainbow high… and it took her until the runway show to be able to truly feel comfortable.

and like. i’ve been rooting for bella/amaya dynamic for awhile now. i see a lot of potential in this duo. we know they somewhat have tension. i mean. bella had a really awkward confrontation with amaya and that was rly their first and last conversation. sure they’ve been around each other like in the music video, at the end of s1, and when bella walked into the girls dorm s2ep2 but like. that’s it.

SO ANYWAY. what i’m trying to get at is that these two definitely need to become friends. i mean. they have a LOT in common. i was talking about the new girl situation because i feel like they can relate in that way. they both had an awkward entrance into rainbow high and could bond over that. it took amaya awhile to feel at home at rainbow high… so maybe she could become friends with bella and help her feel at home! they’re both very determined leader types. they’re really passionate and! they have the same friend group! so why not become friends?

- Jade and Bella

of course i will wonder about these two! i have no clue what to expect with them. the fandom and myself are really really really wanting to see these two become a canon sapphic couple. i really want to see this happen! and mga knows this. mga knows we want to see jella happen. i mean, they literally snatched the ship name from us and plastered it into their vlogs. so they KNOW

anyway. these two are literally going through it rn. the way jade’s eyes lit up when she saw bella was back at rh. and now both of them are looking for each other and worried about each other. jade thinking bella is mad at her rn? please. i will sob. they are really holding off this jella reunion but i hope it’s for a good reason. i just want them to talk and have a good reunion… a hug……. happy tears, happy smiles…………..a love confession…

- Amaya

so i don’t really have much to say here but i’m just wondering about amaya this season. she’s definitely been advertised so much to the point that she essentially became like. THE main focus in season 1. this peeved some people but personally i loved amaya being like a sort of main character figure. she didn’t really take attention away from the other characters but also had that energy of being a main character anyway.

my point is, though, idk how she will play out in this season? like is she going to be as much of a main character as the main 6 are…. or will she play a bigger role? i have no clue. it seems bella is going to have a key focus this season, which makes sense, but it still just makes me wonder about amaya’s role this season

- Colin

i just hope this man does not get a development arc. i know some people want him to…. but i just. i don’t. i don’t understand. the point of him existing was to show that cheating is wrong and to display girl power. by teaching that skyler didn’t need a man to prove her worth. that she is her own person. her own strength! i really hope that colin and bella don’t have anything omfg.

- Winter Break

i’m really. REALLY excited for the winter break arc. it’s about time we get to see some backgrounds outside of rainbow high! plus the animated tidbits of ruby, sky, and violet in their wb outfits in the wb commercial was everything.

i’m so excited to see their new hairstyles, to see them with their snow gear and more. omg. of course i think the twins will be involved in this arc someone. krystal briefly mentioned the twins’ family having a ski lodge. and then of course we see sunny with her skis so like. yea!! i just wonder how these episodes would play out. or episode. but anyway like… will they just vibe? or will there be a problem of sorts? if it’s winter break then it probably won’t tie into school or like projects or anything like that

- Kia Hart

i’m actually hoping kia gets some focus this season. like. what is she going to do? is she going to pair another couple together? (if so, please be jella. okay wait seriously what if she is the key to reuniting jade and bella together… anyway) i just hope to see more of her and possibly more of her and krystal together haha. but kia just vibes so far, it would be lovely to get more of her!

- The A’s

so ainsley is finally beginning to get some attention! i really hope we continue to get more of her as well as avery, and aidan of course! we did get a bunch of content of aidan but you can never have enough honestly.

but i just wonder about how the A’s will be this season. like will they do anything significant? are bella and avery going to remain close? what is going on!!!

- The Malibu Line

saw someone discuss that the music being heard during s2ep2 could be in regards to the rock battle. honestly. what if this is some sort of project? battle of bands or something? that would be cool lol. anyway i’m intrigued for this line mainly because of all the clothing leaks we have been getting omg.

- The Slumber Party Line

we have known about this for a little while (with the theory of the baby blue girl being in it) but i’m just curious as to who the characters are and if they will be in the web series at all.

- Jett Dawson

okay so. this is a big one. jett being a collector doll, i feel like she’ll definitely play a crucial role in the series. so like. who will she be to the main characters? it says she’s generally nice. why was she giving that look to the girls after their runway performance? IDK! i have no clue what to expect with her. i feel like the expectations i had for amaya (before we knew anything about her) will be put into jett because. the vibes i got from amaya ever since we just had her doll… i am also kind of getting from jett. so i’m eager!

Hey so I'm just gonna cry about dolls for a minute if that's cool.

Every month or so, I reorganize my shelf to fit a different theme or rotate the collection. I have a lot of dolls that I love for different reasons, and they all deserve some time to shine. This month is my birthday month (29th is my day), so I decided, the heck with it, let's put as many of our current favorites as possible on there! So a lot of dolls I wouldn't normally display together are present. It's so colorful and cheerful, every time I look at it I smile. You'll notice a lot of them are incomplete or missing pieces. Since I get most of my dolls secondhand, they don't always have them, and that's okay. I don't need my dolls to be complete to love them. I'm just gonna ramble about some of what makes them special under the cut.

For all unaware, I didn't start collecting dolls like this until close to the end of college in 2018. My first two are Meeshell Mermaid from EAH and Peri & Pearl from MH. I'm dazzled by mermaids, and these three hold a special place in my heart as my first.

Finnegan Wake in the wheelchair there also fits with the merfolk fantasy theme, though I also have him there as a supportive doll with Jacy Masters. I'm on spectrum and a plus sized gal, and these two are a reminder that I'm still awesome, even with those things going on. Finn's character is all about living life to the fullest and using all of himself to have a good time, and Jacy is daring and fabulous all day everyday. They help me feel better about overcoming my obstacles and just being myself.

Gooliope and Freak Du Chic Frankie are here because I love Freak Du Chic (circus aesthetic for the WIN), and I pair them with Luna Mothews because they all fall into the performance category. Having been a theater kid (though always on crew, never on stage) and a voice actor, I love performing and storytelling, and the story these dolls tell in their respective medias is so fun. LOVE Luna's arc in Boo York. Way Too Wonderland Lizzie is similar, love her story, and frankly the outlandish look of that line makes it one of my favorites.

Zombie Shake Rochelle and Venus are a very odd pick, but hear me out. I am endlessly amused by dolls that are made based on a short or silly webisode (hence my love for the Sugarcoated EAH dolls), but these take the cake. Zombie Shake is such a bizarre thing to make dolls for. Four of them exist, they were all characters that had no reason to have new looks, barely showed up, but honestly, that's why I like them. They're FUN and indulgent! I remember when I got them in the most fun lot story I've ever gotten to tell, January of 2020, I don't often talk about how I couldn't identify Rochelle at first. It took my former roommate telling me which one she was for me to know this like existed. I thought her cracks were super interesting, and it's why I've kept her as-is.

Rainbow High has a lot of pretty dolls, and Stella Monroe might be up there if she had neck articulation. But for now, we have my current loves, Daphne and Daria of series 3, and Winter Break Violet, who is so my aesthetic, but oof am I not happy with the marks on her face. You can't see them in this lighting, but there's this residue in squiggly lines, almost like her hair gel stained her face, and soap and water hasn't taken it off. I may have to give her a face-up. The number of defects my RH girls have had is kind of frustrating, I refuse to buy them unless it's clearance currently, which still isn't totally reasonable price-wise, but hey, whatcha gonna do? Hoping to do a custom at some point, if I can work up the bravery to tackle them.

And lastly, my customs. Belphene is here because I haven't given her quite enough love (she's steadily been getting posted to my Instagram). Amaryllis is still very near and dear to my heart, love my dona de fuera very much. She's one of my few dolls with a sad face, and I really need to try another. Gail and Delilah have been inseparable since I made Gail, I'm beginning to think they may have a thing for each other. Maiden of Spring falling in love with the sweetheart fairy? Oh that could be cute, but that means some playing around later with Valentina, who was intended to be with Delilah, hmm. I really need to make another fairy, I wanna do better with those wings! And of course Sammy is there, you really think I can put down my love of BATIM? Haha, nope! The searcher Funko pop is also here because Jack. I don't know if I can make a Jack doll, so we're sticking with him for the time being!

I’ve been a little burnt out on doll making for a while here, so since finishing my last two in January, I’ve been on a break. Dunno when I’ll get off of it, still kind of stuck, but hey, it’s okay. I do still have dolls to show (hopefully tomorrow since it’s a certain boy’s anniversary~), but for now, I’m just really glad to have my display up. I know it’s a silly small thing, but my dolls make me very happy, and it’s so colorful and cheerful that I smile every time I look at them. <3

Violette Pt. 4

Johnny was glad that he took up Violette on her offer because he had to get out of Los Angeles; Violette was a gracious host and they fell back in sync with each other. While she was at work, he took the opportunity to explore the area to find souvenirs for his kids and check up on them, other times he’d go through Violette’s books and movies and photo albums, which were his favorite things to do. The albums were completely filled up with pictures. There were pictures of her at weddings, work related parties, vacation pictures (lots of them), newspaper clippings of her accomplishments. It made him happy knowing that Violette became so successful and is well respected, because she deserves it.

When he heard the keys at the door, he quickly closed the book and turned up the volume on an episode of Chopped just as Violette walked in, shaking water off her umbrella and putting it in the stand.  “Sorry I’m late! I was held up with paperwork then there was a wreck, but on the plus side I got Italian!” It was nearly eight thirty when they sat down to eat, the both of them digging into their shrimp pasta as they filled each other in on their day. Since it was Friday and Violet didn’t have to be at work the next day, they watched TV together after dinner, the living room dark except for a lamp on a low setting. It was halfway through a second episode of Fraser, the one where Fraser accidentally tells Daphne about Niles’ feelings for her before the wedding when Johnny noticed Violette had fallen asleep.

Her head was tipped back and her chest was gently rising and falling; she looked so comfortable and peaceful he felt bad for waking her. Johnny shook her gently. “Hey Vi? It’s time to wake up, you’re gonna hurt your neck like that.” Slowly, Violette came to, lifting her head from the back of the couch, her eyes slowly opening. “Huh? What time is it?” 

Her voice was heavy with sleep and she stretched, arms above her head. “Bout time for you to go to bed. You fell asleep halfway through Fraser.” Violette knew he was right; she had a long day at work and now all she wanted was to apply a serum or two and get into bed. “You’re right, it’s been a long day. Do you want the bathroom first?” He shook his head no, and she smiled  before heading to her room.

“Good night Johnny.” They both headed their separate ways, and as he changed into his pajamas, Johnny could hear Violette doing her night time routine, the faucet running every few minutes as she rinsed her face. He checked his phone for messages, emails from his lawyer and Amber’s, two missed phone calls from his family about funeral arrangements, all things that can wait until tomorrow; he hooked it up to the charger and placed it face down. After a few more minutes, the faucet turned up for the last time, and Violette knocked twice before opening the door. “Bathroom’s all yours now.” 

He tried not to notice how long her legs looked in her pajama pants or how ample her chest looked, even in an oversized shirt. Frankly, ever since he got here, Johnny’s been trying to ignore how gorgeous Violette is; she looked good in just about everything she wore: her work clothes where the slacks she wore clung to her legs like a second skin, the leggings and tank tops he saw her in, drenched in sweat when she came back after a morning run. It was like acting in front of a green screen and trying to ignore how ridiculous Bill Nighy looks with black dots on his face as he wears a gray leotard. Johnny couldn’t ignore the fact that Violette has an ass and breasts, and he felt guilty checking her out when her back was turned, but what could he do? He certainly wasn’t going to tell a grown woman to cover up in her own home; with a sigh, he shuffled into the bathroom to do his business.

Meanwhile, Violette was in bed, simultaneously reading and going through her text messages; due to the torrential rain that would be coming this weekend, book club was cancelled (which she was grateful for because she’s kind of behind the rest of the group). Violette was just about to call it a night when a new message appeared, from Angela. I know you took my floral dress the other day. Mikayla said she saw you leave with it.  Yes, she did take the dress but that’s only because Angela took her favorite Dooney and Bourke handbag (something that happened months ago and Violette has yet to see it back in her closet) but unlike her sister, she plans on actually returning it. And what about it? she typed back. You can pick it up from the dry cleaner on Basin Street tomorrow, and you’re one to talk considering I haven’t seen my Dooney and Bourke purse since New Years.  

Once the message was sent, she went back to her book, which had five chapters left; Violette reached for the notebook and pen and started scribbling notes about the chapter when her phone buzzed again. Thank you. And as for your purse, I think Miki has it. It’s hanging on the doorknob of her closet. Probably thought it was mine. But how’s it going with Johnny? Her fingers hovered over the keyboard, and she didn’t know what to say. How is it going with Johnny? Violette wanted to tell her sister that things are great, like nothing’s changed between them, about her growing feelings for her ex husband, but all she texted back was that things are fine. 

Really, only fine? Leave it to Angela to be overly observant, might as well come clean now. It feels like nothing’s changed between us even though a LOT has. We’re cracking jokes, eating together, going out. It feels like old times. Violette knew what Angela was going to say next: that they need to slow down, how Johnny probably isn’t ready for another relationship when he already has so much going on. She hastily texted: And I know what you’re going to say next, but I can’t help it. He’s still Johnny. I gotta go, it’s late. 

She put her phone on the charger and placed it face down on the nightstand. Violette hoped that all her feelings toward Johnny could just be chalked up to not getting enough sex or boredom or loneliness, because really, what would a relationship with Johnny look like today? Probably a long distance relationship and media interference, and she’d had enough of that from last time to last a lifetime. Besides, Violette never dates men with children, and in her age group, it’s like looking for a needle in a haystack to find a single male in their late forties/early fifties who doesn't have children. Shaking her head at the thought, she pulled the covers up over her head and waited for the air conditioner to kick on to lull her to sleep.

So this was how the rest of their week went, both of them pining over the other without the other’s knowledge: Johnny pretended not to notice her figure and his growing attraction and Violette pretended that she didn’t harbor romantic feelings for him, until one day Johnny couldn’t take it any longer. He brought up the question while they sat in Violette’s car at a snowball stand, the a/c blasting and the radio on a low volume. “Why are we doing this, Vi?” The question was so out of left field that she almost choked on a bubblegum flavored hunk of ice. “What do you mean?” she asked, sucking the bubblegum syrup from the ice. 

“I mean, why are we ignoring… whatever this is? We’re adults, Violette, we should be able to communicate with each other.” She was sure she was doing a good job at masking her feelings, but apparently she was wrong. “Because Johnny, it wouldn’t matter. Your life is in LA, with your children and work and my life is here. What could we actually do about it? You’re only here for another week.” Violette was actually glad that he brought it up now, because there was no way they would be able to do anything about it, since Johnny would be here for another week before going home. Leaving Violette alone with her unresolved feelings.

“And you already have so much going on. Are you sure this is what you want? If you’re ready for this?” Violette put another spoonful of her snowball in her mouth, sucking off the syrup until the ice was hard packed on her tongue. “Is that what you’re scared of? That I might leave again?” Johnny asked. “Not might, but will. As you can see, I don’t have a normal work schedule and I’m not a fan of long distance relationships.” And because I’m scared you could hurt me again,” she added in her head.

“Johnny, we’re not in the ‘80s anymore. We’re so different now, we always have been.” Johnny sighed before putting his cup in a cup holder. “We’re not that different, you’re still you and I’m still me. We’re older now, have more life experience. Violette, we were so young when we got married. And I moved on from her long before I thought about filing for divorce.” She took his words into consideration, really thinking about it. Was the reason why she never remarried is because that deep in her subconscious, Violette knew she and Johnny would make their way back to each other?

“Just one chance is all I’m asking. Please.” He looked so sincere, and the offer was so tempting. How many times had Violette had this dream of Johnny coming back to her and begging her to take him back? Too many times in the early days of their breakup, and Johnny was right, they’re older now, old enough to know what they want in their partners. “What do you say? Can you give me another chance? We can take it slow, whatever you want.”

Violette put the last spoonful of her snowball in her mouth, savoring the last bite as she thought it over. While she was a little apprehensive about the whole thing, she’d be lying to herself if she said she wasn’t at least a little curious as to how a relationship with Johnny would be like today. A lot of traveling back and forth, probably meeting his kids at some point. And what about long term? Would they live together?

 Get married (or in their case remarried)? “We’ll take it slow?” Violette asked, just to make sure. “As slow as you want,” he answered. Violette smiled and grabbed Johnny’s hand. “Okay.”

Okay, so I’ve been processing this amazing show, and everything about it for a couple of hours now. I’m going to try to put them into some sort of order, but it’s probably still going to be messy and yeah.... whatever. Gonna cut again, cause it’s going to be long. 

Daphne:

I was not a Daphne fan in the book. I found her very disingenuous, and quite manipulative. She manipulated Simon so much to get him to marry her. And then the dubious consent scene when he was drunk was the nail in the coffin for her...

But, the show did a really good job of rehabbing her character from the book. I actually really liked her. I found that most of the decisions she made were based on the enormous pressure she felt to have a successful debut and the find a worthy husband. She was concerned about her family’s reputation, and setting up her younger sisters for when their time came. I never really thought about that pressure while reading the book. 

Simon:

I didn’t like Simon in the book either. He was way too pig-headed, I hated that he basically abandoned Daphne, it was just all around terrible.

Rege brought such a warmth to Simon’s character. I really felt for him, and while he was still quite pigheaded, HE DID NOT ABANDON HIS WIFE. He still cared enough to stay with her. HUGE IMPROVEMENT ON THE BOOK. I just loved him. I can’t really put it into words. He was wonderful even when he was being a jerk. 

Anthony:

I understand what they were doing with Anthony. Some may view it as character assasination, but I understand it completely. As Siena said, Anthony is lost. He’s trying to emulate what he thought his father would do in every situation, but he just got it so wrong every time. I truly did feel like he thought he was doing what was best, but he just wasn’t listening to his family, which he needed to. I loved the back and forth with Violet. I think by the end he had started to turn the corner, and would be more like book Anthony in caring for his families’ wants and wishes. 

I didn’t hate the love story with Siena. To be honest, it makes more sense to me than the book story of why he didn’t want to love his wife. He had his heart broken, and his pride wounded. The normal reaction to that is to avoid love again (I’ve been there before, I wholly sympathize). But I don’t think he was truly in love with Siena, he was infatuated with her, and I think that he liked he could let down his “head of the family” guard that he always had up. He could be himself around her without being judged. I understand why he wanted to keep being with her. 

It really did set him up perfectly for the next season where he will meet Kate and his whole world will turn upside down, and he will truly understand what REAL love is. I can’t wait to watch that happen.

Benedict:

I liked the introduction to Benedict’s artist storyline. I also REALLY enjoyed the introduction to Benedict not giving a FUCK about society’s standards. It all leads quite nicely to his love story with Sophie, the lady’s maid. 😊 

I also REALLY loved the Benedict/Eloise scenes. I adored them. They are so similar, and I really loved that the show explored that and that they challenged each other. It was wonderful, and I look forward to seeing more of that in the later seasons.

Eloise:

I kinda loved Eloise’s obsession with Lady Whistledown and trying to figure out who it was. I honestly thought in the carriage scene with Benedict and Madame Delacroix that she figured out that it was Penelope, good misdirect there show. Claudia really gave such a wonderful performance. I CAN’T WAIT to see Phillip being super annoyed at her talking all the time. CAN’T WAIT. 

The Peneloise friendship was so wonderful as well. I hated that little part when they were fighting, but of course, they were always there for one another when they needed it. I adored it. 

Colin:

I’ve already mentioned on another post that I didn’t like the Marina storyline. But now, thinking about it, maybe it wasn’t that out of character for him? We all know he kind of makes snap judgments and just goes with it, as in when he decided he wanted to marry Penelope and just essentially ran in to ask for her mother’s blessing within 5 minutes of deciding. 

I did appreciate him being a sensitive soul. He really is. He would honestly do anything to help someone he cared about. 

I suppose the Marina storyline sets up the LW reveal in his and Penelope’s story, as it’s much harsher knowing that Penelope was the one to reveal Marina’s pregnancy publicly. It adds a level of drama that we didn’t have in the book. He was just jealous of Pen in the book, which was a bit weak in my opinion. 

Also, I feel like we can still get the “what is love” conversation with Daphne in his book. I feel like based on this experience he could be confused about what love really is, if he thought he loved Marina, but was wrong. I just really loved that scene in the book, so I hope they keep it.

Penelope:

I ADORED PENELOPE. Except for when she was a jealous bitch and basically ruined her and her sister’s future by revealing Marina’s pregnancy. That was 100% out of character, as we know Penelope wouldn’t have done anything to ruin her family. They will definitely need to do some character rehabbing for that particular plot point in the future. 

But seriously, Penelope’s heartbreak absolutely shattered me. Nicola played it SO WELL. She cried, I cried. It was hard to watch. And to be honest, at the end when she was crying after looking out the window, I thought she was crying because Colin was leaving, and I completely forgot that her father had just died. Lol. I honestly believe she was crying more for Colin than her father. 

Anyways, Penelope still has my heart. I just wanted to hug her for 90% of her scenes. Don’t worry Pen, your time will come. 

Violet:

Violet was wonderful. I also really loved that they had Daphne tell her how terrible it was that she didn’t give a proper birds and bees speech to her prior to her marriage. I think this sets up Violet to prepare the other girls better for their marriages. 

I loved that she went toe-to-toe with Anthony a lot. He needed to be put in his place, a lot, and she did. It was wonderful. 

She was just in general the matriarch that we all came to love in the books. I think she really grew as a mother over the season as well. 

Other thoughts:

Nigel being the villain in the first half was shocking and such a departure from the books. Not sure I loved that choice.

Cressida’s hair crowns were wild, and distracting.

I LOVE QUEEN CHARLOTTE. I NEED A SPIN OFF LIKE YESTERDAY.

I’ve said this in another post, but Prince Friedrich’s storyline was unrealistic, and yes, I know it’s fantasy world, but it still was a reach, and wasted potential Daphne/Simon development time.

I loved seeing Sir Phillip and setting up that story. Are they going to make the twins older though? Are they going to move up Eloise’s story? So many questions remain from that plot point. Also, he is hot and can GET IT. Yum.

Lady Danbury was almost as regal as the Queen, and I LOVED her women’s only gambling party. It is 100% in character, and I wanted to go to that party. I also loved the mother role she took with Simon, and boy did he need her. I’m so glad she plays a role in each book, I need more of her.

Daphne’s speech at the end of the ball in the rain made me cry so much. It was beautiful. Phoebe did such a great job with it. I loved that both she and Simon got a monologue to explain how much they care and love one another, and that they were at different times. 

Overall, I LOVE LOVE LOVE IT. I need season two ASAP. It’s going to suck waiting another year or more for it. I’m still fairly convinced we will see a season two. They just set up so much for future seasons, I don’t see why they wouldn’t continue the show.
