Non Solo Erté Not Only Erté
Angelo Luerti
Saggio introduttivo di Vittoria Crespi Morbio
Costume Desogn for the Paris Music Hall 198-1940
Guido Tamoni Editore, Schio (Vi) 2006, 288 pagine, 24,5x34,5, ril. in cofanetto

Je lui donne un solide 8/10. via Blogger https://ift.tt/aN94JTG May 04, 2024 at 01:50PM

Georges Léonnec (1881 – 1940) French "La Nymphe Innocente, ou..." 1919 Oh! mon chéri, joue-moi, he t'en prie, un air de tango! Illustration La Vie Parisienne "In a land where women and love were worshiped as almost never before, La Vie bred and developed a group of very gifted artists - Léonnec, Barbier, Hérouard, René Vincent, Kuhn-Regnier, Maurice Milliére, Vallée, Brunner, Pavis, Vald'Es - whose understanding of the very essence of femininity, whether mental or physical was unsurpassed. They produced work whose excellence in terms of draftsmanship, observation, imagination, and understanding made La Vie Parisienne of the period unequaled of its kind, and possibly never to be repeated.

The world is about to change with Biden and Harris in office. It is great to have Harris in there. More women in power is so important. Women don’t think with their dicks. I mean, a pussy likes to fuck just as much but we can also get some work done. Men are rarely as good at multitasking. The inauguration went off with high security after the Trump insurrection. 5 were killed as the traitors stormed the Capitol on Jan. 6 but Biden still became the President on the 20th. Hooray for Pastor Raphael Warnock and Jon Osoff in Georgia for taking the Senate. We are off to an interesting start with Merrick Garland nominated for AG.** Janet Yellen is the 78th US Treasury secretary and the first woman!**John Kerry is the envoy for climate and Pete Buttigieg is up for secretary of transportation. ** Biden reversed the ban on transgender troops, stopped the Muslim ban and signed many other executive orders.
*****
Kudos to Bill Maher for giving out his Baldy award and talking about Henry Waxman. And I was glad to see Waxman mention it and the many others who do the hard work, the real work of running this country.
*****
Elon Musk is now the world’s richest person.
*****
Did ya see the Wendy Williams night on Lifetime? I have known friends and family with her behavior, this complete lack of self- confidence and yet completely self -absorbed. Yes, she was married to a jack ass and she can be entertaining but whew.. high drama. I learned one thing.. Her Father and brother are HOT!!

Days alert: The big reveal FINALLY came on Days about Gwen from Peoria. She thinks she is Jack’s daughter! It looks like the DNA will prove it. The plot will thicken as Laura returns with a secret and bad things happen to her. Susan Banks is also back and gets in the middle of a couple of stories. I am always glad to see Ivan but unfortunately Vivian is close behind. The twins story should come to a head. Please don’t push Rafe and Nicole together!! Word is that Patch and Kayla will remarry on their old anniversary of Valentine’s Day!! Best of all, Ciara is back and has thoughts of Romeo and Juliet. Find her Ben, before you get close to Claire.

Some last headlines and thoughts and facts about the end of the worst Presidency in our history. Let’s hope this is the last of the news about the Traitor in chief except for paying for his crimes. Unity does not mean there are no consequences for criminals. Make no mistake Trump and some of his followers are criminals. **Here are a few things I ran across: Vanilla Ice played Mar A Lago for NY Eve.** After the riot many rats started to jump ship like Elaine Chao, Hope Hicks and Betsy Devos. The American Federation of Teachers reaction to Betsy Devos resignation: “Good Riddance.”** Mo Brooks had told the crowd, “Take names and kick ass.” Plans for a Sen. Hawley book were scrapped.** Adam Kinzinger of Illinois was one of the first to call for the 25th amendment that never happened.** People are trying to get to the bottom of the Riot with questions like, “Who paid for the buses?” ** These types of people are the reason we can’t have nice things. ** Scary Clown is off Twitter for good. Funny how it took Senators, companies and voters so long, 2 weeks before he leaves office to make him a pariah. Trump was too dangerous for twitter but not for the nuclear codes?? ** To anyone complaining about a private media co. kicking Trump off their platform: Think of twitter as a Christian bakery and Trump as a wedding cake. _William Cusack**The riot proved that blue lives really don’t matter to them.** U.S. rep for Colorado Lauren Boebert was given $70,500 by Ted Cruz just as he asked for a probe into Netflix. Her husband, Jayson was arrested for exposing himself to a minor and for domestic abuse.** Trump was impeached again.** “Republican colleagues broke down in tears saying that Republicans are afraid for their lives if they vote for this impeachment.- Congressman Jason Crow.** Mike Pompeo cancelled his European trip after Luxemburg’s foreign minister and top European union officials declined to meet him.**232 was the number of votes to impeach him and the number of electoral vote in his loss to Biden.**Trump’s interior secretary had his own flag** Trumps EPA guy made super- secret phone calls in his own phone booth and had 24 hour security.** Toby Keith and Ricky Scaggs received the National medal of arts. ** The Supreme Court tossed out a lawsuit claiming that Trump violated the emoluments clause. ** Dominion voting systems sued Rudy.** Trumps impeachment lawyers, Butch Bowers and Deb Barbier quit. Word is that they refused to say the election was stolen. The new team seems to include Bruce Castor who would not prosecute Bill Cosby and Epstein’s would be lawyer David Schoen. That sounds about right.

Hôtel Saint-Germain-des-Prés
Situated in one of the Paris' most coveted positions, Hotel Saint Germain des Prés provides a cool haven with a feel of a chic Paris pied a terre.
Built in the 18th century as a gracious townhouse, the hotel retains many period details and original architectural features.
No. 36 of the rue Bonaparte: Home of French philosopher and sociologist Auguste Comte, between 1817 and 1822, during which time he published his first essays. 36, rue Bonaparte, 75006 Paris, France
The Eiffel Tower was the world's tallest structure when completed in 1889, a distinction it retained until 1929 when the Chrysler Building in New York City was topped out.
The Quai Voltaire no. 3 and no. 5: Hôtel Le Barbier, Hôtel Perrault, and Hôtel de La Briffe were all one unit until 1733. They were connected by a tunnel with the other side of the Rue de Bourbon. Author Maurice Joly lived there in a small apartment until his death in 1878.
The Sennelier @sennelier1887 shop was opened on the site in 1887. It became famous for supplying art supplies to artists such as Cézanne, Degas, Gauguin, Pissarro, Soutine, Modigliani, Kandinsky, Bonnard, and Picasso.
After President Jacques Chirac left office in 2007, he moved his family into the Hôtel de Bouillon.
Pont Royal
In 1632, the entrepreneur Pierre Pidou directed the construction of a wooden toll-bridge which would be called Pont Sainte-Anne (in deference to Anne of Austria) or Pont Rouge (due to its color). It was designed to replace the Tuileries ferry upon which the rue du Bac (bac meaning ferry in French) owes its name. The ferry had been offering crossings since 1550. Fragile, this bridge of fifteen arches would be repaired for the first time in 1649, completely redone two years later, burnt in 1654, flooded in 1656, completely rebuilt in 1660, propped up in 1673 and finally carried away by a flood in February 1684. Madame de Sévigné reported that this last incident caused the loss of eight of the bridge's arches.
It was finally reconstructed between October 25, 1685, and June 13, 1689, this time with stone, receiving complete financing from the king Louis XIV; it was the king who gave it the name Pont Royal. .

The exteriors of cathedrals and other Gothic churches were also decorated with sculptures of a variety of fabulous and frightening grotesques or monsters.
The gargoyles, which were added in about 1240, had a more practical purpose. They were the rain spouts of the cathedral, designed to divide the torrent of water which poured from the roof after rain, and to project it outwards as far as possible from the buttresses and the walls and windows where it might erode the mortar binding the stone. To produce many thin streams rather than a torrent of water, a large number of gargoyles were used, so they were also designed to be a decorative element of the architecture. The rainwater ran from the roof into lead gutters, then down channels on the flying buttresses, then along a channel cut in the back of the gargoyle and out of the mouth away from the cathedral. . . Saint-Germain-des-Prés is a parish church located in the Saint-Germain-des-Prés quarter of Paris. Founded by Childebert I in the 540s as the Abbaye Sainte-Croix-Saint-Vincent, by the middle of the 8th century it had taken on the name of Saint Germanus (French: Germain), the man appointed bishop of Paris by Childebert and later canonized.
Originally located beyond the outskirts of early medieval Paris, it became a rich and important abbey complex and was the burial place of Germanus and of Childebert and other Merovingian kings of Neustria.
At that time, the Left Bank was prone to flooding from the Seine, so much of the land could not be built upon and the Abbey stood in the middle of meadows, or prés in French, thereby explaining its appellation, which also serves to distinguish it from the church of Saint-Germain l'Auxerrois near the Louvre.
The oldest part of the current church is the prominent western tower (partly restored and modified), which was built by Abbot Morard around the year 1000.

Storia Di Musica #90 - Queen, A Night At The Opera, 1975
I’m In Love With My Car.

Note: My apologies for the delay in updating, but I needed a bit of a break to sort through a number of things. Back to regular scheduling from today.
After this speech, the speaker was asked to leave his manuscript; he refused, citing the numerous erasures with which this writing was charged. Then the deputation of the Agréés having withdrawn, some members of the class of Academicians asked to immediately deliberate on the complaints which had just been made. But by a majority of 32 votes to 10, with only the class of Academicians consulted, since it was frivolously among its members that the question had been raised, decided that it would be ignored and that the commissioners would immediately be nominated in accordance with Vien's proposal.
The two classes of the Académie having proceeded to the elections, Pajou, the Duke de Chabot, Bachelier, Berruer, Vincent and Cochin were chosen by the Officers, and Le Barbier, Miger, Houdon, Jollain, David and Barthélemy, were designated by the Academicians.
At the end of the session, the Academicians, who had asked for the presence of the commissioners of the Agréés working on the reform of the statutes, met at David's house and drew up the following protest:
We, the undersigned, members of the Académie royale de Peinture et de Sculpture, Academicians and Agréés, summoned extraordinarily by M. David, President, elected by us from our particular assembly, considering the intention with which the Académie seems to intend to reform its statutes, it must not do anything in this respect contrary to the principles of the French Constitution, sanctioned by the protector King of the said Académie;
That nothing that goes against the principles of equality and freedom can be legal;
That any organisation, which does not call to work towards its reform all the members who have an interest in it, violates natural law;
That the class of Agréés, being de facto and de jure an integral part of the said Académie, as it is recognized by itself, must therefore be called for the reform of its regime;
That the Académie, notwithstanding our "serious complaints” on this subject, nevertheless persists in the current desire to appoint commissioners in two classes only and excluding that of the Agréés, publicly recognised, and admitted by that of the Academicians as a class of the Académie of which it is a part,
We have resolved, not to participate in a vicious operation which hurts the constitutional principles, and which by its illegality, would entail annulling all that could follow; we have resolved, we say, to object and protest against the appointment which parts of the two classes of the said Académie have instituted by appointing commissioners in only two classes; we even protest against all that the said commissioners could do in reforming said statutes without the participation of all the members of the said Académie to which we belong, and we reserve to assert the following protest as and when it will be needed.
Composed in Paris, 6 March, 1790
Signed: David, president, Restout, vice-president, Henriquez, Beauvailet , Robin, Pasquier, Giroust, Bouillard, Echard, de Marne, de Bucourt, Julien.
