18 years later, when Pikul & Namphet selling sweets in the streets helps Kaewoko getting stabbed but Namphetch get stabbed, so Lada took them to her house as a cook.

But Kaew is a spoiled & grandma’s favourite child.

When Nampectch, Cheewin & Karn went to Pattaya for business, Kaewko tricked Nampectch to go and get her wallet from her yacht, she followed Nampectch to the yacht hit her head, stripped her off, took all her belongings, she spiked Chanok’s drink (Cheewin’s brother) so that Nampectch had to marry Channok but her plans have failed.

But when Cheewin came to the yacht looking for Nampectch, Chanok used this for his own advantage, he fainted Cheewin, this way Nampectch would look like she slept with Cheewin and had to marry him.

He took the keys of the boat & he cut the radio cords, now everyone is looking for them.

Cheewin & Nam stuck in boat in the middle of ocean waiting for help while Chanok told everyone he has seen Cheewin getting into the yacht and sailing will Nam.

Cheewin confesses Nam that he loves her while they are alone in the yacht. He has told Nam even if she was not around, he would never loved Kaew

Karn has been hospitalised and Kaew already put the blame on Nam, she told her mother that he’s in this condition because of Nam.

Kaew’s brother already suspecting that she might have done something bad.

Kaew tried out to kill Nam, she tried to ran over her.

When Cheewin checked the cctv cameras he find out that it might be Kaew who tried to hit Nam and shared it with Karn

When Joe the gangster Kaewko hired to rape Nam, tried to kill Chanok as he’s not taking responsibilities for the girl he pregnante, she shielded herself and Joe accidentally shoot her.

When Kaweko & Pikul was talking about Kaew killing her own father and trying to kill Nam someone over heard them

It was the head house keeper who heard Kaew talking to Pikul, she wanted to tell this to Lada but Kaew was there talking to Lada, so she couldn’t; tell but Kaew is suspicious of the head house keeper that she might have heard something

I am sure Kaew has plans to get rid of the house keeper as well.

This time Kaew over hears the head house keeper trying to tell Kaew is not Lida’s daughter. Kaew asks how did she found out

She tries to stab the head house, keeper, Pikul begs the head house keeper not to tell anyone but Kaew kills head house keeper as well.

This girl is a walking murderer, after killing head house keeper, they buried her in a sack, now everyone is back home, When Chanok arrived to see Kaew, he saw her leaving with Pikul and that’s what he told to Lada & granny

Karn learns the truth about his health and Kam doesn’t love him but she loves Cheewin

Grandma questioned everyone whether they had seen the head house keeper?

Kaew & Pikul is panicking now, they are not sure what to do ..

The household already received a phone call from the police, they are asking them to come and identify the body of a woman whether she’s the head house keeper or not..

But the biggest clue to solve the murder is the anklet found on the body of the head house keeper, which has been missing for 20 years. If they use their logic they will find it, and the police said if she hadn’t steal it it’s possible that she got it from the person who killed her. (BINGO)

Now Pikul knows that police told the family that head house keeper has been killed over the anklet she also told this to Kaew. Not they are in more big panic.

Grandma over heard the conversation as well, I am hoping they won’t dare to kill the grandma.

Now the other maid, who is the maid of Kaew is sure that she has seen that anklet before

Grandma called her lawyer and told him her suspicions and the lawyer told her that they can do a dns test, but she wants it to be done secretly without letting anyone know about it

When she was getting hair samples from Kaew’s hair brush she got caught

Kaew made Pikul redial the last number grandma called and it was the law offices.

Channok over heard the conversation between Karn & Cheewin, he immediately meet with Kaew but Kaew denies..

The lawyer got the dna results, he calls the grandma to tell her, but she doesn’t believe and asks him to come and see her..

Kaewko eavesdrop grandma’s phone conversation with the lawyer but she only hears her name and she wonders what’s it got to do with her.

Pikul told Kaew that she’ll take all the blame on herself and won’t let anyone to blame her.

Grandma heard everything and she know she realises everything that she raised a spoiled brat, a rattle snake

Kaew and Pikul knows that grandma know something but they don’t know what she knows yet.

Kaew send Pikul to grandma’s house and she made her dial her number so she can hear what grandma is speaking to her lawyer.

She heard that grandma cut her from her will, and immediately went to grandma and asked why she’s leaving everything to Nam, grandma told her that Nam is to true heiress and she’s leaving everything to her.

Kaew ripped the dna test.. She pushed her grandma, & grand ma is in hospital, she even tried to kill grandma while she’s in the hospital

Kaew tells Pikul that she won’t let her grandma to live.

But Pikul asks Kaew to look after grandma well

Cheewin asks Nam to marry him and he told her he promised Karn that he’ll look after her well.

When Kaew asked about marriage and love to Cheewin, Cheewin told her how can you still talk about love and marriage when you have Chanok..

And both Lada and Cheewin’s mother asked what does he mean by that and Channok said she had changed her mind

Nam started to get suspicious and asked Cheewin to test a glass of water Kaew gave it to grandma..

They got the test results of the fluid in the glass and it was poison.

Kaew wants to kill both grandma & Nam

Nam tried to give the test results to Lada but Kaew interfered and Nam couldn’t give it to Lada and this time Pikul took her to their house and rip of the test results and she’s still violent and threatens Nam

Nam learned the truth accidentally, she was send to the lawyers office… she learned it at the lawyers office.

Nam had got her courage and told Pikul that she’s not her daughter, her daughter is Kaew

Nam decided to leave that house. She said her goodbyes to grandma

Channok was found covered in blood and take to hospital

In the hospital he said it was Kaew who did it to him. and he told his brother everything, that Kaew killed the head house keeper and now she wants to kill Nam

Kaew took grandma and she pushed her chair to kill her but Nam saw grandma and saved her, when Kaew saw that Nam helped grandma this time she attacked Nam, but Cheewit, Karn, & Lada came right on time and they would be able help Nam…

But Kaew kidnapped Nam, when they arrived home the police came and wanted to question Kaew in suspicion for the murder of the head house maid.

Grandma said she knows why and asked them to bring the envelope and now everyone knows the truth

The crazy bitch shot her own mother. And put the gun to her head killed herself ..

Nampet & Cheewit got married, Karn will be going under brain surgery, after getting married Nam & Cheewit visited Pikul who became a nun

They have wasted the entire lakorn on Kaew. She had more screen time than anyone.

I can’t recommend this drama, it’s boring, long and waste of time, they wasted the good chemistry of Son & Will on this stupid lakorn.

I shed a couple of tears at the end.

Well this is the latest of the remake of the Taiwanese drama from 2005. Is it updated…..sure. Is the main male lead still an asshat yes. In fact I personally think this is probably the worst characterization of him. The male lead is written in such a way where he has no redeemable qualities by the end of the series. There’s actually one scene where he mentions to the female lead where he says he could rape her, but it’s not worth it. The storyline is cringy at times and by each passing episode you hope it gets better. In my opinion it didn’t. Oh well.

Thai Drama (Lakorn) Recommendations #1

Recently I fell in love with Thai lakorns and Thai series. Not only do they help when trying to study Thai language but they are pretty entertaining. (Disclaimer: I am not an expert, this is just my opinion. I know some shows can be intense with certain themes so I will be putting trigger warnings below with strike through only two dramas need these, but I feel like I need to put them. I know these are not for everyone and I respect that.) 

So what is a lakorn? Lakorn is short for lakhon thorathat, or "television drama." These tell a complete story in a certain amount of episodes (unlike American soaps) and usually have a runtime of 1 hour + per episode. (I have seen them equated to Hispanic telenovelas.) The ones I have chosen to start with don’t are more mild in my opinion and stay away from being too extreme. (Okay there is one on my list that is a bit extreme. I would like to add I don’t condone all of the themes in these shows but I liked them inspite of that.) Without further ado (and in no particular order) my first five recommendations ^^

#1.) รักล้นใจนายแกล้งจุ๊บ Rak Lon Jai Nai Klaeng Joob (Kiss Me) [comedy/romance/school] starring Mike D’Angelo and ‘Aom’ Manaying Sushar. This story is the classic story that has been remade many many times (Itazura na Kiss/Playful Kiss/It Started with a Kiss) but with a Thai spin on it. (aka don’t think you are going to get a regurgitation of those dramas, it delivers some of the classic tropes but adds and subtracts making it its own thing.) This story is about Taliw, who is cute and lively and has a crush on TenTen, a grumpy genius with an IQ or 200. An accident causes their cohabitation, and that is just the beginning of their chaotic story.

#2.) เล่ห์นางฟ้า Leh Nangfah (Angel Magic) [comedy/romance] starring ‘Vill’ Wannarot Sonthichai and ‘Push’ Puttichai. This story centers around Lallalit (Beauty,) a spoiled and selfish heiress who is cursed by karma to live as a human by day and a bird at night. To break the spell, her good karma must out way her bad, and she must also receive a kiss from a man that she loves more than herself. She has her work cut out for her dealing with her karma as well as trying to prove to her childhood friend Teepob that she can handle her half of the business with smarts and grace.

#3.) ภพรัก Pope Rak (Two Worlds Love) [action/comedy/romance/drama/supernatural] starring Mark Prin and Bella Vanita. This story centers around two main characters, the rice socialite Naamrin (Naam) and a police officer named Yeeo.  After leaving a dress fitting, Naam is involved in a street race which escalates and causes an accident for both drivers resulting in Naam becoming a spirit. Officer Yeeo is the only one who can see Naam and thus is tasked with solving her story and figuring out her identity while also helping to unravel a twisted plot directed at Naam’s mother.

-No trigger warning needed. (Even though this deals with spirits and the theme of death it isn’t horror genre or scary)

#4.) เล่ห์รตี Leh Ratee (A Woman’s Trickery) [drama/romance/light slap-kiss] starring Sean Jindachote and Ester Supreeleela. (Now hear me out because the plot sounds insane but it is really good.) This story centers around multiple families. On one hand we have Sake and his family, they run a lucrative business and are very wealthy. He is married to Idsaya who is kicked out when Sake’s mother finds out she is a liar and a gold digger. Kate is a strong young girl who’s father works for Sake’s company but has been embezzling money to spend on his gambling problem. Kate’s childhood love is Poo who wants to marry her when she finishes school. However the plot starts thickening when Kate’s father’s embezzling comes to light and he flees. Once he is found however he is discovered to have a medical condition, and he decides to sell his daughter Kate to Sake in order to produce an heir and in turn pay off his debts.

-Trigger warning: There are two scenes with forced kisses.Their initial consent is dubious but it quickly turns into consent.

#5.) กาลครั้งหนึ่ง…ในหัวใจ Karn La Krang Neung…Nai Hua Jai (Once Upon a Time…In My Heart) [action/romance/mafia/drama] starring Pimprapa Tangprabhaporn, Mik Thongraya, and Boom Piyaphun. This story centers around Fahsai who accidentally finds herself stuck between two warring mafia clans and a plot for revenge. On one side you have Daniel who coerces Fahsai to help him when he is shot in Japan and on the other you have Chen Min who attempts to use Fahsai to gain information on Daniel.

-Trigger warnings: In a fit of anger a character forces a kiss on Fahsai and also rips her shirt. There is mention sexual assault as well as a clip of a girl tied to a bed. Since this plot involves mafia, there is violence. I have decided to watch this lakorn at the first day of Corona Virus isolation, as of Monday night, we have been totally locked down here in the UK..

THIS IS ONE OF THE LAKORNS THAT I HAVE SIT TIGHT AND WATCHED WITHOUT GETTING BORED! 

This lakorn has 34 episodes.

It is not really that long if you think of how things go in this drama.

It's not a slow but not a fast speed drama.

Unlike other lakorns, the ending was not rushed,.

Sao Noi (Little Girl) Are you familiar with Hans Christen Anderson and their fairy tales, do you enjoy fairy tales.

I have to admit that I have fallen in love with Son Yuke once again, his acting was amazing. Background music is also amazing, also listen every single music used in the lakorn, such as the beach scene Funiculì Funiculà, every single person you see is connected to one of the other. .

Nid is also San's inspiration muse, it started with his dreams. Dreaming of Nid as a muse, before he had lost his memories and became Siam

Vill & Son had an amazing chemistry, Vill, she surprised me,  how she portrayed the innocent and islander the beautiful high so Wanida this well.

Now this lakorn is sort of based on one of their tales Little Mermaid, and you need to watch to understand why and how..

This is a historical drama, it' sets around 1939-45's., during World War II.

San is the son of Prachan Chalasai the Ministry of Finance, he likes oil painting, he's engaged to Suwalee, a rich girl from a well of family..

 She is the most evil character of this lakorn. When he learns that his father married a bar singer Marasi, Marasi (she is not as bad as they tried to show on episode 1.)

He argues with his dad and takes his car to see his friend Boonma.

On his way to Boonma, he gets attacks and loses his memories, he finds a job in a ship and carries rice.

While he was in the ship, he hears singing and jumps off to sea, he was saved by Nid and taken to the island.

Nid taken care of him, they eventually fall in love and got married.

San / Siam's father learns that he's on the island, he tricks Nid that he'll accept her as his daughter in law, San goes to surgery, when he wakes up he had no memories of Nid.

He couldn't recognise Nid, and asked her to leave..

San's father Phra Chanchalasai kicks of Nid  and Nid asks him to him somewhere where she can find a job.

Suwalee learns this and asks her aunt to go to job centre and take Nid as a maid

She doesn't behave Nid well, nor her daughter and their maids.

 She becomes the maid for the Lord, he behaves Nid well and he even allowed her to listen to his daughter's English lessons and let her borrow books from his library.

 While she was working as a maid, she still secretly keep on eye on San.. She secretly checked him out make sure he's fine and healthy..

But Suwalee, wanted to get rid of Nid completely; she came up with a plan to get rid of Nid,

Nid also witnessed how unfaithful Lord's wife is, his wife was cheating on him with her daughter's English teacher, he was also sleeping with the daughter at the same time. 

They arrested Nid from theft and put her into prison, and she has been behaved badly in prison, her friend Kaew reached the lord and asked his help, while Nid was in prison she got help from another inmate Chod..

 With the help of Lord, showing evidence that his wife blamed Nid and the confession of his wife's maid, they have set Nid free, with Chod's support with Marasi's support and her best friend being at her side, she totally turned into a new person,

Nid transformed herself into a High so girl, She learned to speak English, she has self educated herself, she became a woman who's much better than Suwalee. She became a singer & actress.

 She made her husband to fall in love with her again, it took her 4 years to win back her husband's heart..

Nid had helped her husband to regain his memories through songs, through the lakorns (Little Mermaid, The Curse of Tudsayan & Scoonthara, the ring of memory, the mermaid saviour, the evil princess who took her place) she gave him all the hints, she told her story without mentioning his San's name but he couldn't understand it.

She helped him to sell his paintings., she .advertised it and she let him to use her her painting on his store window so he could generate sales.

Suwalee portrayed by Egg, oh my god, how many times I wanted to slap her, sometimes she reminded me off Mint, the spoiled girl, and if there’s any remakes of this drama most possibly Mint will perfectly fit into this.

Nid (Vill) she has gone through hell to win back her husband’s heart back again…San had amnesia and Nid saved him, San became Siam but than San forgotten that he was Siam and every other memories he had when he was with with. There are people who did their best to keep them away

Nid/Wanida: (Vil)l She’s a great actress, she uses her body language and her eyes well, her eyes tells, they speak. She was great at portraying Nid an innocent islander and she was very good as Wanida an actress and a singer.

Wanida as high society girl she stole everyone's heart, every men who watched and listened to her, and most importantly she won back her husband's heart back. When

Suwalee said she's expecting San's baby to Nid, it destroyed her, she even tried to kill herself..

This was the 2nd time she was tried to kill herself over San / Siam.

The first time she tried to jump off from a bridge and saved by Marasee, on the 2nd time both  her's and San's unconscious body washes of to shore.

San/Siam:(Son Yuke)

San the son of a minister, rich, high so, snob, money loving guy.

He likes doing oil paintings, doesn't want to work as a civil servant. .

He's engaged to Suwalee,.

It takes him 4 years to reunite with is love Nid / Wanids

Once snob boy changes when he lost his memories and ends up in an Island.

Nid saves him and takes him to island,  Nid becomes his inspirational muse, the muse that he dreamt of before his accident.

. I did get angry when he gave Nid the ring that he gave to Suda which was his grandmother’s ring, and later became his mother's ring,  least he could have given her some other ring.

 But Nid accepted anyway

Nid & San didn't have any babies but we have been given hints that they will have two sons.   Nid has the ruby ring given by Siam and San gave her his grandmother's ring.

I don't know why did they do this way, it's a big humiliation to give your ex fiancé's    ring to your

Boonma (Guy):He’s funny, he’s charming, he’s San’s bestie. His love story with Kaew is worthy to watch. Just when you think Booma is gonna say something romantic to Kaew he just breaks the magic by asking  different unrelated things. but they are a good match I’d like to see them as a couple in one of the lakorns in the future,

 Suwalee (Egg): She’s the evil girl. she’s so selfish & narcissist. She & her aunt did bad things to Nid.

 She will be drinking her own poison. He’ll be taking his revenge for everyone. She even think of doing the same thing that her aunt did to Lord.. But she’s not gonna get her happy ending., her aunt already did..

She’s cold and cunning.,The biggest punishment will be coming from Thana portrayed by (Nut)….

She doesn't love her fiancé San but she only love his tittles and he can give / provide to her.

After Son fell in love with Nid once again, she still tried her best to break them apart, trying to humiliate didn’t really worked, so After Thana drugged & raped her she gets pregnant and she tried to pass his baby as San’s She deserves every bad thing that happened to her and she’s not gonna get her happy ending.

During the wedding ceremony of San & Wanida,, when Chert tried to shoot San, Suwalee was laughing at a corner.

Sudawee tried to kill Thana with a sword, and had a miscarriage, so everyone learnt that she was pregnant and the father of the baby was Thana.

Marasee:(Khongmalai) Oh don’t be fooled by what you see in the first episodes. She’s stunning, Marasee a bar singer who married San’s father, the man who sees Nid lowly. Interesting enough she’ll be helping Nid..

 She will become a friend and a supporter. She’s very strong and doesn’t let people to harass her.. Marasee also gave San the letters that his father & house maid Mae Pin was keeping from him,, that mentions about Nid as his wife,, just before he marries Sudawee,

Marasee is win all the hearts of San / Nid supporters with her support to our couple. …

Everyone except Sudawe got their happy ending, but we have seen her becoming the mistress of a governor.

Wthout Marasee giving San the letter, without Nid trying to make him remmeber things, Nid would now be married to Sudawee..

And the history of the Lord would be repeating again.

Not to mention without the support Nid got, we wouldn't have our happy ending..

Despite the ‘charming’ storyline, 😉sorry I couldn’t help it, the overall drama kinda was just ho hum. And what I mean by that is, the storyline itself, despite the ambiguous far fetched’ ness that it is it’s not that bad. The problem lays within in my opinion, of cheesy lines, bad editing, and very over the top acting. Now yes, sometimes it work making it hilarious, then there were times where I just rolled my eyes and fast forward through. This drama is very predictable, it’s one to not be taken seriously, you kind of have to switch off your brain and go with the flow to enjoy while watching.
