I was just wondering as a fellow ace if you had read any adult novels with ace main characters. All the ones I know of are solidly YA. There's nothing wrong with that, I was just wanting to branch out.

Love love love that teens have all this representation but gosh I want more adults like me in fiction! Unfortunately, I'm also very bad at looking for it because I don't search for representation? I focus on the book plot more than "hey this book has an ace character!" and thinking it over it's probably because I don't care about whether or not characters pair up, and actually prefer if there was no romance at all.

HOWEVER I have asked around and have a little list!

first of all, a friend pointed me to this database which is really cool! I'm definitely going to get lost in this!

Every Heart a Doorway by Seanan McGuire, the main character is canonically and explicitly asexual! I've read this one and enjoyed it a lot!

The Hanged Man by KD Edwards, a side character is asexual, I've also read and enjoyed this but cw for sexual assault (not the ace character). Ace character shows up and has a bigger role in book two

Vicious and Vengeful by VE Schwab, main character is canonically asexual as of the second book. Read and enjoyed these, but I wouldn't call them Ace Representation tbh Victor Vale is just my poor little meow meow cw for self harm

The Perfect Assassin by KA Doore, main character is asexual, is in a romantic relationship with another man, a delightful book, he appears in book two as well, but more as a little treat (I don't remember if there were any big cws)

The Once and Future Witches by Alix E Harrow, discussed it with friends and we all agree Juniper is ace. I don't know if it's canonical, but listen. LISTEN. I love her. cws for homophobia and traumatic birth

The Tropic of Serpents by Marie Brennan, I read book one and really enjoyed it and friends tell me book two the main character(? or her companion?) is ace
