I finally finished this, YAY! This animatic is a mix of digital and traditional art. I definitely learned a lot of tricks while making this (also, can you notice the slight difference between art styles??).

This animatic singlehandedly explains what happened to JD after his mom sacrificed him. He was definitely ready to accept his faith until he discovered Branch's was with him (which almost gave him a panic attack). It was a good thing that everyone decided to help him, and Liam (a troll around his age, maybe older?) helped him escape.

without actually telling the lore, this is the analysis on his character: he is absolutely dog coded to me (he is a werewolf but domesticated) if he finds a person he wants to befriend by god he would try his best (that is, somehow, its never enough) he is genuinely bad at reading certain people, lie straight up in his face and he believes every word because "why would they lie". he either doesnt notice red flags, or ignores them because he wants to believe in good intent behind all this. plus the fact that he learned to repress a lot so he doesn't change forms, trying to act like how a normal human being would act, like he was told to, he really doesn't get it. he is the type of person who would rather get his feelings out through music rather than speaking about it

making a conscious effort to put more energy into indulgent personal art pieces - i've felt disconnected from creating Finished digital art recently and i have a hunch i've been too focused on creating products and worrying about my online shop. self-advertisement and maintaining an online presence in order to make money have always stressed me out, even when there's no actual pressure to deliver (ie. my very spotty newsletter that i don't know what to do with). i want to let go of the pressure to make art that is popular with prospective customers, and relearn how to make art that is for me first and foremost.
