You leaned against the wall, arms crossed, watching Tejo clean his weapon effortlessly. His focus was sharp, his fingers steady as they worked over the metal.

“You keep staring like that, and I might start thinking you’re plotting something,” he mused, not even looking up.

You smirked. “Maybe I am.”

That got his attention. Tejo finally glanced at you, one brow raised in quiet amusement. “Oh? And what exactly are you scheming, hm?”

“Wouldn’t you like to know?” You pushed off the wall, stepping closer, just enough to invade his personal space. Not that he seemed bothered by that.

He set his gun down with a soft click and leaned back slightly, studying you with that same unreadable expression he always wore. “You’re awfully bold today.”

“You don’t seem to mind,” you teased.

A slow, knowing smile appeared on his face. “No, I don’t.” His voice dropped just a little, smoother now, with an edge of something playful. “But if you’re going to flirt, at least make it worth my time.”

Your heart did a little flutter at that, but you refused to let him have the upper hand so easily. “Oh, so you do want me to flirt with you?”

Tejo let out a quiet chuckle, the kind that was more felt than heard. “I’m just saying, if you’re going to try and get my attention, you should at least commit to it.”

You tilted your head, pretending to consider it. “Alright, fine.” You leaned in slightly, voice dropping to match his. “How about this? I could make you forget about that gun in your hands, just for a little while.”

Tejo’s smirk widened ever so slightly, but instead of taking the bait, he reached past you, casually picking up a bullet from the table. “Oh, I never forget about my gun.” He twirled the bullet between his fingers before flicking it back onto the table with a soft clink. “But go ahead, keep trying. I enjoy watching you work for it.”

You let out a small laugh, stepping even closer, so close you could feel the heat of his body. “You think I can’t distract you? You’re underestimating me, Tejo.”

His eyes flickered with a glint of something dangerous. “I’d say you’re the one underestimating me.”

You ran your fingers over the table casually, slowly, your eyes never leaving his. “Oh, I don’t know. I just figured a man like you, so cool under pressure, so disciplined, might be easier to crack than you'd let on.”

His lips curled into a faint smirk. “You really are a handful, aren’t you?”

You stepped even closer, your voice lowering to a near whisper. “A handful? Maybe. But I’m your handful, Tejo.”

His smirk faltered for a second, the tension between you thick. But instead of reacting, he took a breath and casually reached for his gun again, as though toying with you. “Keep this up, and you might just make me regret it.”

Your mouth opened, then closed as you realized exactly what just happened. He had flipped the game on you.

You huffed. “You’re impossible.”

He chuckled again, this time standing up fully. He stepped past you, but not before lowering his voice right by your ear. “Don’t stop now, mi cielo. I was just starting to enjoy myself.”

Yeah. You were doomed.

"This issue seems to be pretty recurring with your equipment," you sighed, massaging your temples.

Comfortably sat in a nearby chair, Tejo was casually polishing a gun, humming a tune.

"Really ?" he said with drawled tone.

It seemed like he took his habits with you. Taking coffee with you in the morning, tinkering with you, going on mission, then coming back in your workshop. You often wondered why. Tejo was a veteran intelligence consultant. Cypher's lab or Killjoy's workshop sounded like places one could find him, but no. Most of the time, he was where you were. When you asked him why, he simply said that at first, he was seeking for your help to rearrange his weapons since you often worked and tinkered on a type of tech pretty close to his and that the other agents praised your eye for details. He then had casually admitted that he ended up enjoying your company.

"The sensitivity of most of your stuffs is too high, Tejo," you said, pushing your magnifying glass far from your face. "I think you know very well the risks of such fault in techs such as yours."

For a very quick instant, your eyes inadvertently fell on the scar that ran through his neck to below his collar bones, and the one dancing on his forearm.

"And I trust your skillfull hands to be able to fix it."

"You don't trust your own ?" you raised an eyebrow to which he only smirked.

He shrugged, setting down his gun on a table.

"I like it better when you're the one taking care of my equipments," he said, crossing his legs in a laid-back manner. "Especially when you boost the battery of my drones."

You sighed, taking off your working gloves and stretching your arms above your head.

"My mistake. I should add more security to your equipment, not boosts."

"I'm fine with both," he shrugged again. "I said it many times already, I trust you."

Your eyes slightly squinted on him and he supported your stare without a flinch.

"May I ask why ?"

"The whole protocol has been praising your skills and you proved me many times that all these appraising words about you were no exaggeration," he said matter-of-factly. "You always check my equipment several times before use and scold me when I use it in an... 'unnecessary reckless way' ? I think these are the words you used."

"As I should," you scoffed, rolling your eyes to which he just laughed.

You watched him standing up and walking in your direction. Once at your level, he gently patted your shoulder with a strong hand.

"You put a lot of care in what you do," he nodded, still smiling. "It is enough to label you as 'trustworthy'."

I imagine your first meeting is similar to how the other agents meet him, returning from leave to find him already at base.

He’ll start following you around for one of two reasons, if you’re a rule follower like Brimstone, or someone like Jett or Phoenix, someone who breaks the rules.

If you follow them; He loves to bother you, trying to get you to break one. This gives him the chance to tease you later down the line for breaking the no fraternizing rule.

If not; Invites you out to do anything really, testing out weapons and abilities or just getting out and about.

So touchy with you, his love languages are definitely Physical touch and Acts of service.

Loves suddenly pulling you back into his arms, keeping you trapped until he’s satisfied or you escape.

Trusts you with his weapons and tools, so if he ever had to go somewhere without them, they’re going under your care.

Loves giving you pet names and will do it in front of others with no shame.

Her love languages are definitely Acts of service and Quality time.

She isn’t the best when it comes to giving you affection, she tries but it’ll take her a while before she becomes fully comfortable.

You get scary guard dog privileges.
