I am begging people to please stop using modern texts as evidence for your interpretations of mythological characters.

All modern works are basically fanfic. Do not base your understanding of the actual people from Song of Achilles, or Epic, or Percy Jackson, or Circe, or literally any book or play written in the past few hundred years. You are not discussing the person from mythology, you are discussing a contemporary character based on them. It is not the same thing.
