A Surprising Crush: Brian Gleeson in Phantom Thread
Hey Tumblr fam! Just finished watching Phantom Thread and, whoa, what a ride! Can we just take a moment to appreciate every detail of that masterpiece? 🎥 But let's talk about a particular moment that caught me off guard – when Reynolds got sick and they brought in Dr. Robert Hardy.
Now, maybe it's just me, but does anyone else think he looked oddly familiar? 🤔 And dare I say attractive? Yep, I totally went there. But here's the kicker: turns out, Dr. Hardy is played by none other than Brian Gleeson! 🤯
Hold up, rewind. Brian Gleeson? The same guy who had me in stitches as Frank in "Frank of Ireland"? I couldn't believe it! Seeing him all clean-shaven and serious in Phantom Thread was a total game-changer. Talk about a versatile actor, am I right? 🙌
But let's get real for a sec – can we just appreciate how good he looked in that role? Like, really good. It's like seeing him in a whole new light! Props to the makeup and costume team for that transformation.
So, confession time: despite knowing it's Brian Gleeson, I couldn't shake off the feeling of finding Dr. Hardy oddly attractive. And hey, I'm not the only one, right? Let me know if anyone else had a similar revelation! 😅
Have you ever had a similar experience with an actor playing a completely different role? Share your thoughts! 💭

the problem with loki is that i would love there to be a series/movie (so sad that he was such a popular character and then they just killed him and never mentioned him again -_-) of him but he's the sort of character that so much about him is internal and you get a better look at his character via writing rather than film bc so much of him is his thoughts but i like film more whyy
#film is the most versatile and has the most options EXCEPT that portraying a characters thoughts is harder#you could have the actor just narrate thoughts as a voiceover but that's often clunky#and loki's not the kind of character to explain out loud what they're doing while they're doing it so that is also not an option#so really the best way to look closely at their character is writing#but writing is limited in so many other ways that film is not#and there are some aspects of film that would portray parts of lokis character way clearer than writing#so it's like. impossible to avoid ambiguity/confusion of explaining lokis character bc no art form is perfectly suited for them#there are some characters that just work really well for a certain media type almost like they were made for that type alone & nothing else#but loki isn't like that#loki#mcu loki#og loki#unityrain.txt

just gonna be totally honest and say I'm having some wildly inappropriate thoughts about the dirt on his back
#in reality i would be the one with dirt on my back BUT#i can be versatile for him#LOOK HOW MAJESTIC MY MAN IS#look how proud and handsome yet exhausted and weary and discouraged#look at the mixture of emotion EVEN WHEN ONLY HALF HIS FACE IS VISIBLE#russell crowe beloved actor who can emote like none other#also the ribbon around his armor is driving me crazy#@mystery-star and i were discussing it the other day#i feel like it's either a strap that helps hold his armor in place#or an ornamental ribbon designed to honor someone like a fallen comrade or even his family#we also said “what if it's his wife's hair ribbon” and i haven't known peace since#BRO IMAGINE#making such good love that he's covered in dirt afterwards WHILE WEARING YOUR HAIR RIBBON AROUND HIS CHEST#i will never be normal again#mayhaps... a fanfiction will arise from this#mayhaps mayhaps#also hello back of maximus' head my old friend#gladiator#maximus#maximus decimus meridius#gladiator 2000#russell crowe

Unleashing Cavill's Marvel Might: 5 Epic Roles Awaiting Henry In The MCU!
The Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) has a penchant for casting exceptional talent and Henry Cavill, best known for his portrayal of Superman in the DC Extended Universe, could be an intriguing addition. Known for his strong performances and physical prowess, Cavill would be a perfect fit for many characters yet to make their debut in the MCU. Let's explore five potential roles that could suit him.
Hyperion
Hyperion is essentially Marvel's answer to Superman. A member of the Squadron Supreme, he's an extraterrestrial possessing superhuman strength, speed, stamina, and flight capabilities. Cavill, with his already established superhero persona and physical stature, would be an ideal choice for this character. Given his experience playing a similar role, Cavill could bring depth and nuance to the character of Hyperion.
Nova (Richard Rider)
Nova, specifically Richard Rider's version, is a powerful character yet to debut in the MCU. As the human chosen by Rhomann Dey, the last surviving Nova Corps Centurion, Richard Rider gains superhuman abilities and becomes a member of the intergalactic police force, Nova Corps. Henry Cavill, with his experience as a galactic protector, could portray this character with the necessary gravitas and commitment.
Beta Ray Bill
Beta Ray Bill, an alien worthy of wielding Thor's hammer Mjolnir, is a beloved character by many Marvel fans. With his unique alien appearance and heroic qualities, Beta Ray Bill's character could be a challenge to bring to life. However, Cavill's established superhero credentials and his ability to embody complex characters could make him a fitting choice.
Blue Marvel
Adam Bernard Brashear, also known as Blue Marvel, is one of the most powerful characters in the Marvel Universe. As a former U.S. Marine and a veteran of the Korean War, he gained his powers through exposure to anti-matter radiation. Known for his strength, flight, and energy manipulation abilities, Blue Marvel is a compelling character that has yet to appear in the MCU. Cavill, with his proven track record of portraying strong, complex characters, could bring depth and intrigue to this role.
The Sentry
The Sentry (Robert Reynolds) is a character with immense power and a complex, troubled psyche. He possesses the 'power of a million exploding suns', granting him abilities such as super strength, speed, invulnerability, and flight. Cavill's acting range and his experience with characters struggling with their powers (like Superman) could make him an excellent choice for this role.

obsessed with how so many of shin ha kyun's roles are either (1) the silliest sluttiest guy you've ever seen or (2) deeply fucked up guy who is hitting 200 mph on his way to becoming even worse or (3) a combination of the last two. man found the roles he likes the most. real of him
#caroline talks#shin ha kyun#i'm obviously oversimplifying all his roles#because in all seriousness i'm so deeply amazed by the sheer versatility he has as an actor#like. man can do comedy man can do rom-com man can do deep melodramas man can do tragic war movies man can do thriller#but also. i do adore whenever shin ha kyun plays a deeply fucked up character who's just like 'yes. i will be committing a crime now#and i will look so insanely hot while doing it. and make a bunch of silly people question their morals for it.'#like. good for him.

Random thought for the day...
Unlike Anakin, Caleb Dume was raised in the Jedi Temple on Coruscant, so wouldn't he speak with that type of accent in the Bad Batch episode instead of like a grown up Kanan Jarrus?
Little Hera spoke with her original Ryloth accent in the TBB episodes...so it would have been interesting to hear what Caleb sounded like as a padawan (perhaps like a mini Obi-wan?) before he developed his Kanan persona to blend in with the riff raff.
#caleb dume#kanan jarrus#i don't think he'd have sounded like kanan#he didn't need to sound like kanan so that we would know who he is#just a random thought#of course vanessa marshall is a more versatile voice actor than fpjr so that probably is the culprit#she was able to alter her voice to sound like a child of ryloth#meanwhile fpjr just complains he had to do caleb's voice
