It was i think our third visit to the Josef Albers Museum in Bottrop when we encountered the works by James Bishop… and…they blew me over!

Large scaled paintings, extremely delicate colors combined in compositions which were part constructivist and familiar and other ways totally different because of the scale,  composition and impact.

I tried to find more on James Bishop , but beside the excellent gallery exhibitions at David Zwirner it is hard to find more on Bishop. Here is a short list of exhibitions in which he was presented.

1993: Kunstmuseum Winterthur, Switzerland

2008: Staatliche Graphische Sammlung, Munich, Germany

This is an artist who grows on you. An artist who is one of a kind. For my he has the same qualities as many better known artists from his genaration, but is not the household name in modern art he should be. Being Human season 2 just premiered on Monday, and it was amazing.

If you haven't seen Being Human before then you're missing out.

I'll catch you up a little. The guy on your left is Aidan. He's sort of a rouge vampire who is trying his hardest to stay out of temptation and Bishop's (his maker and leader of Boston) way. Although that doesn't seem to be in his cards lately. He tries his hardest not to drink live blood, and is called the weakest vampire in his 'family'. He is also the favorite of Bishop, and Bishop will stop at nothing to get Aidan back under his wing again.

The Girl in the middle is Sally Malik. She is a ghost living in the house that Aidan and Josh move into. Sally lived there with her fiance Danny, who she is still madly in love with. She is usually a bright and sarcastic ghost until she figures out how she really died.

Then there's Josh, who is a werewolf. Josh was scratched by a werewolf while on a hiking trip and then left his family to move to Boston. In Boston he meets Aidan and they both try to live 'normal' lives. Aidan also gets Josh a job at the hospital as an orderly, which is a step down for Josh who was accepted to MIT to be a doctor. Josh is so wrapped up in his werewolf problems that he tends to ruin all his relationships until he meets Nora.

The season premiere was amazing, can't wait until the next episode!
