OK I'm a lil worried 'cause I don't wanna make anyone feel bad with this one but! Gotta be honest. I'm just really indifferent to Riku/Roxas because I don't… ship Riku with anyone? HOWEVER that said I do understand the appeal. Gotta love a little hate kissing, or the whole "enemies to rivals to lovers" dynamic. It's just not for me in this case, as a person who… can not actually imagine Riku in a romantic relationship. I DO like RikuRoku as like, a comedic thing though. If you hand me a fic where they're dating but hate every second of it, in a way that's played for laughs and not angst, I would be so into it. Fake Dating AU but they hate everything and have to pretend to be in love. I am for that.

I'm much more interested in them as… just. Not Liking each other. I know that's kinda cliche based on the KH2 stuff, but there's something appealing to me, personally, about them never seeing eye to eye. However that said I don't vibe with the fandom portrayal of them genuinely hating each other. I think it would evolve into a mutual respect thing, where they both admire the other's skills but don't admit it so loud.

VenSora (Sora/Ventus) Oh man. Oh man do not get me started on Ventus and Sora. I can not ship them romantically, but they are literally my absolute favorite relationship in the whole Kingdom Hearts series. Literally almost got a bingo on this one, because I DO actually imagine that they hold hands a lot and Ven definitely kisses Sora on the forehead but naaaah that feels a little like cheating. So in my eyes Ventus and Sora are brothers (that said there is NOTHING wrong with shipping them, this is just My Personal Perspective and I'm not going to get on anyone's case for it because I'm not a loser that bullies people over their ships) and they would kill and die for each other. They actually will be the death of me because every time I think about them I'm just obsessed. I can not describe my love for them properly in just one post so I'll just try real quick to get the main point down, then ramble a bit: Ventus and Sora are each other and are their own separate people. They are self love and self hatred and brotherly love and second chances. They are everything to each other, even when they don't realize it. Ventus and Sora are love. Sora has protected Ventus from the very second of his own birth. Not because he had anything to gain, not just because destiny brought them together, but because even as a Newborn Heart, Sora was so kind and caring that he allowed Ventus to connect with him so they could heal. From the very beginning, Sora saved Ventus' life. And the idea that neither of them were truly aware of that is just so good. Then four years later, Ventus practically dies, he reaches out to Sora, and just because Sora wants to help him (because Sora is Good and Sora is Kind and Sora is Nothing More) Ventus ends up safe. There's no grand reward for it, nothing telling Sora he has to. It is entirely just through kindness that Sora allows Ventus into his Heart to heal. And then, from that moment on, every second of Sora's life before KH3, Ventus is there. Ventus is watching him grow up, is a part of his Heart. You can NOT tell me that Ventus does not love Sora with every little bit of his being. That's his little guy!! He's proud of his little guy!!! And then boom. Cut to the present. Ventus owes everything to Sora. Ventus was Sora. He spent so long in Sora's Heart that he had become a piece of it. And now Sora is gone, and Ventus feels empty, and it hurts more than anything else in his life. Meanwhile, Sora's always had Ventus as a part of him. And now that he's been taken away, Sora feels something missing. So much of his Heart (Roxas. Xion. Ventus. Vanitas.) has been split into pieces and divided up, and it's impossible to ignore that pain. But Ventus was a part of him longer than anyone else, so being without his Light is just... such a powerful feeling. Anyways I'm absolutely mad about these two. The undying, unconditional love Ventus feels for Sora. The fact that they loved each other even before their first real meeting. Their friendship is everything to me and I Will Die if they do not get to interact in KH4. Like I will actually explode.

SoVen or VenSo are commonly used for Sora x Ven. SoVani or VanSo are the most common I've seen for Vanitas X Sora

Some people also use SoraVen, SorVen or VenSora

And SorVan, VaniSo and VaniSora

So there's some mixed tags there ajdhjshs tho imo SoVen/VenSo and SoVani/VanSo are the easiest to use and remember so yeah

Writing for Rare-Pairs: Who feels this?

Hello, it's me again. The first thing I'd like to say is 'thank you' to those who commented/left encouragement on my last post regarding the Ship Week "problem" I was having. Fic has been long posted on AO3 and I am finally at peace lol.

But anywho,

While I work on some fics I've been putting off, I couldn't help but notice that most of the ships I write for are considered to be in the Rarepair category. On one hand, it feels a bit lonely since there are few people I can really discuss it with, but on the other hand, it's also exciting to see what handful of people who so happen to also ship it come up with. Funny thing is that the main reason why I ended up writing in the first place is that I find it both challenging and refreshing to come up with my own plotline and dynamics for these pairs considering that they're the least portrayed in the fandom. It's as if I don't feel "pressured" to really base how they'd interact from canon since that's up to me to fill in the blanks. Not only that, I genuinely feel that the ship has more potential than how it's perceived.

For those of you in "Rarepair Hell" like me: How do you feel when shipping/writing for a ship that's in Rarepair territory?

Me Want Talk Ship

I just made a vent post about shipping that made me very tired, but now I have mentally AWOKEN and I'm in a Venso and Soroku mood.

So like, I know why I like Soroku and Venso, but why does everyone else like it?, aside from them being god-tier ships ofc.

I like SoRoku because I think their dynamic is unique and I like their story of one hating the other's existance, and one barely knowing the other existed, and then learning to respect and care about each other. I also like reinterpreting certains scenes like the one in KH3 where Sora says, "It's not darkness. Not if it helps him." As romantically charged

For VenSo, I like the relationship being built around trust and protection. I like how Sora was kind enough to let Ventus into his heart and how they technically experienced KH1-DDD together. Although it's fun to reinterpret scenes, with this ship, I like to think of the potential future, especially with Ventus, how he feels guilty and how stuff from the past might interact with him and Sora
