I can’t believe that after all this time, Siegfried & Roy’s mansion in Las Vegas, Nevada is on the market for sale. (I wonder what happened to their tigers.) The main house has 2bd. 4ba., but there’s a casita w/a cabana and 3 guest houses with 2 & 3 bds. also on the property. For sale for $3M.

The mansion, called Jungle Palace, appears to have a Spanish Mission style on the exterior. The 2 entertainers apparently lived in separate homes on the property, which was built in 1954.

Weren’t their white tigers allowed to roam freely in the house? (Why do I feel that it could be haunted?)

Roy Horn lived in this house and Siegfried lived in a mid-century modern style house on the property.

Their extensive collection of furnishings is on the auction block, and the property has been on the market since last year.

Siegfried‘s vision for the white tigers was something Bavarian- green & rocky, but Roy wanted to give them an environment where everything was snow white and they had endless arguments about it.

Look at the ceiling. The bar has a big coffee machine- at least I think that’s what it is.

Roy’s house is pretty white, though. Look at the dining room.

A hot tub in the corner of the dining room. 

Library/office. Gee, they even have their initials in the stained glass windows.

Look at the big wine fridge. 

Wow, the kitchen is very white. Like the curved cabinets and that shiny stainless exhaust hood.

Even Roy’s bed has his initial on it. Like the elephant feature wall.

Wow, a black en-suite w/a red tub and sink. 

This must be the bird room. Roy had pet birds. 

Here’s a moody room. Looks like an office.

Wow, look at the trees on the stairs. I can’t stop saying wow. 

Here’s a big jungle themed bath.

This is nice, it’s like a cabana.

This is clearly the white tiger’s enclosure. How did they keep it so clean? This would be great for regular cats- they would really enjoy this.

Here we have a tanning room.

I think this is the tiger’s pool.

And, this is the human’s pool.

Here’s a nice big patio.

Looks like a water feature.

Wow, look at this. 

You know, this is a bargain for $3M. The place is gigantic.

More tiger enclosures.

This must be Siegfried’s MCM house.

Look at it. How many pools are there? I counted 6.

I’m finally painting the living room. I stalled out when my first round of potential colors was too dark, but I got an email yesterday about a 40% off sale at a local paint store and that was just the kick in the butt I needed. Painted two more swatches, picked the one I liked best, and bought two gallons of paint today. Et voila.

Adelaide had her first unchaperoned DATE last weekend: Kung Fu Panda 4. This new boy is into acting instead of sports like the previous boy. The one before that was a musician. Seems like Adelaide is sampling all the different sorts of boys. And why not.

I need to buy a new bathing suit before this summer, probably before Las Vegas next month, and ooooof. I don’t wanna. Ugh. The worst. I think I’m going to order a few different options online so I can be horrified in the comfort of my own home.

Speaking of, I went dress shopping today for that Vegas wedding, and dear god. We MUST all band together and fix dressing room lighting once and for all. I mean, do you want me to buy something or spend the rest of the day despising myself? It’s very unclear.

Last night, a VERY large spider crawled over Adelaide’s book as she was reading it and then ran across her bed and under her pillow. She . . . was not brave about it.

I made a very impulsive decision yesterday. A jewelry store here was having an inventory reduction sale (moving locations) and Saturday was an additional not-insignificant percentage off on diamond stud earrings. So I bought a nice pair in a very respectable cut and clarity to save for Adelaide’s college graduation or when she turns 21, etc. It feels a little silly considering she’s only 13, but it was a good deal (according to my hasty googling) and I figure by the time she’s done with college I may not have much money for an expensive gift. Now I just have to figure out where to keep them until then.

NFA is the absolute best. (And yet somehow keeps getting better?!) He’s ruining the curve for all other men. Absolutely destroying it. I get to see him in Vegas in three weeks, here and Asheville at the end of May, and then (as a post-birthday present) he’s taking me to St. Martin/Maarten in July and I. CANNOT. WAIT. There will be monkeys (MONKEYS!!!) and tropical birds and nude beaches and we’re staying in this beautiful little place way up in the rainforest with amazing views and have I mentioned how excited I am?!?!

Spacious dining room with a red insert in the ceiling. It's always the details that make a home. Straight, boxy rooms are so boring.

Love the red floor and don't even mind the popcorn ceiling. Next to the dining room is another sitting area that is like a family room.

The kitchen has a recessed bar. And look at the Sputnik light.

The owners chose to set up the closet/dressing room with chaises.

And, the primary is large enough to easily accommodate 2 queen size beds.

It has a nicely updated en-suite that seamlessly matches the rest of the house.

The home office.

And, this is the very large 2nd bath.

Bedroom #2 is a good size and has sliding doors to the patio.

Bedroom #3 has room enough for a sofa. All the bedrooms are very large.

This is a beautiful bath. Funny, the description says 2 baths, but this is a 3rd.

There's a cute little garden out here that goes right thru the roof.

The small .7 acre lot has a lovely pool in the back of the home, plus a covered patio.
