Are you starting to believe that NFA is “the one” if that makes sense? It’s been really awesome to see this relationship blossom over time. I really wish the best for you two. 😊

For the record, I don’t believe in “the one” as a concept. I think there are LOTS of people on the planet anyone could be compatible with — and whether it works or doesn’t really just comes down to timing . . .

BUT I digress.

And I totally get what you mean.

We’re in it for the long haul. It will likely look unconventional for a while since neither of us plans to move anytime soon (although politics/reproductive health laws could change that for me) but the distance really doesn’t feel like an issue. We’ll close it at some point, but for the moment, there’s no hurry.

As our relationship started to take a more solid form, I expressed surprise about him wanting to make plans again so soon or maybe an “aren’t you tired of me yet” joke. Something along those lines. He responded, very seriously, with a detailed description of what he liked about me and why and said that when it came to me he was “not fooling around.”

Hence, NFA.
