im happy i was tinkering with my zombie edh deck (my oldest, most beloved, & best deck) Varina, Lich Queen

and i think ive cracked the code and might be approaching its final streamlined form or at least im aware of its final form

did some edits & ordered some cards and lowered the mana curve and added efficiency (one more cheap removal, some lower cost effects and also one of my beloved pet cards Grimgrin, Corpse-Born [the original commander all those years ago])

my son, my baby boy, my special lil guy

this still a card or two id need (plus whatever new cards get printed) and then outside that it would be the long, slow expensive process of land replacements

i say "aware" of her final form as opposed to becoming it bc there are some cards that could be taken out that i kept simply for as cute things that ive always wanted to play

this card has taunted me for 7 YEARS

or because i always have fun when I play them

cast this to ruin a trans doggirls day 🏳️‍⚧️🐶

but like im aware of them and know exactly what to replace if I did

so realistically she's close to being perfect soonish but im purposely handicapping myself to have more fun

at that point it effectively just becomes a game of side boarding between pods

so its so nice to just have this slow 13 year deck project get close to reaching its apex!

Does Fiasco have any plans to work on more magic with Varina?

I really want to, but I’ve had trouble connecting with Varina in character recently. She’s kind of been very to herself or the greatsword girlies. Fiasco doesn’t really exist to her rn. :(

Happy Birthday 2nd Birthday to Victor and Vallen Varmitech!!!

It’s our twins second birthday! Victor and Vallen are our little miracle twins! They were born over a month early, and they were subjected to a short hospital stay, but they pulled through, and we could not be more grateful and thankful for them.

Victor was the only child we ever planned to have…Zach wanted a son just like him, but the joke was on us because we got TWO sons just like him….In attitude and appearance 😆. It’s challenging to have 3 Varmitech men that are so much alike, but it’s unbelievably beautiful all at the same time. Zach and I love our boys, and Varina and Vera adore their little brothers.

Daphne goes on vacation

Daphne was excited to finally go somewhere. She hadn’t been on a large family vacation like this since she was a little baby, but after weeks of convincing, she was finally going to the beach with the Varmitech family. Her mom had to work, so she wouldn’t come. Daphne was excited to go somewhere completely alone for the first time, even if it was with a family friend. They were going to the beach, a place Daphne loved but went to less often than she’d like. Once she had double checked her packing and spoke to her mom about what to do, she left to go to the beach with the rest of the Varmitechs.

Daphne was pleased to discover she had her own room, close to the Varmitech’s suite, where everyone else would be staying. She was happy to have her own room but still be close to everyone else. She plopped onto her bed and then began to unpack. After she had changed into her swimsuit, a yellow and purple bikini, she joined Zach, Vera, Varina, Vallen, and Victor to go down to the beach. Violet and Victoria opted to stay in the hotel and meet them for dinner in a couple hours.

Daphne had fun running in the ocean with the other kids and playing, but she wasn’t used to the chaos that came with them. She was an only child so she wasn’t used to the craziness that came with siblings. But, Daphne had a ton of fun in the sun with everyone. She managed to convince Zach to be ‘buried’ in the sand, which she enjoyed doing. After he got out of the sand, they all walked to meet Violet and Victoria for dinner. Daphne was worried about dinner, she was a picky eater in general and had a shellfish allergy. She managed to figure it out though, and had a nice dinner with the Varmitechs. They insisted on paying for her meal, even though she brought money from her mom, because she was the guest.

When everybody got back, they discovered that they forgot to put on sunscreen, much to everyone’s horror. Daphne was significantly tanner, and everybody else was red as a tomato. Zach got it the worst, he looked more like a lobster than a human. He was whining to Violet, and Daphne went to her room as Violet began to apply aloe vera to everyone’s burns. In that moment, she felt grateful to not really burn as easily.

The vacation was overall great, and Daphne felt grateful to temporarily be a member of the Varmitech crew.
