Mandatory Age Verification For Social Media
I had a conversation with Copilot about Mandatory Age Verification For Social Media.
The proposed Social Media Ban for under-16s by the Australian federal ALP government involves Age Verification methods that include providing ID and biometrics, such as face scanning. This approach raises significant concerns about privacy and the potential for creating a de facto Digital ID system.
Practical Implications • ID Verification: Users would need to provide some form of identification to verify their age. This could include government-issued IDs, like passports or driver's licenses.
• Biometric Data: Face scanning or other biometric methods would be used to ensure the person presenting the ID is the same person using the social media account.
• Data Collection: This process would result in the collection of sensitive personal data, including biometric information, which could be stored and potentially used for other purposes.
Concerns • Privacy: The collection and storage of biometric data and personal IDs raise significant privacy concerns. There is a risk of data breaches and misuse of this information.
• Digital ID System: While the primary goal is age verification, the requirement for biometric data and IDs effectively creates a Digital ID system for social media users.
• Accessibility: Not everyone may have access to the required forms of ID or be comfortable with biometric verification, potentially excluding some users from social media platforms.
Conclusion In practical terms, the proposed age verification methods resemble the creation of a Digital ID system.
The Digital ID Program The Digital ID Program of the Australian government is designed to be voluntary, providing a secure and convenient way for individuals to verify their identity online. However it raises concerns about the proposed Social Media Ban potentially leading to a de facto compulsory Digital ID system.
Key Points • Voluntary Nature: The current Digital ID system is voluntary, allowing individuals to choose whether or not to use it.
• Age Verification: The proposed social media ban for under-16s involves age verification methods that include providing ID and biometrics, such as face scanning.
• Potential For Compulsory Use: While the Digital ID system is voluntary, the requirement for age verification on social media platforms could effectively make it compulsory for those who wish to use these services.
Conclusion The introduction of Mandatory Age Verification For Social Media could definitely be seen as a step towards a more widespread use of Digital ID, potentially leading to concerns about privacy and the implications of a de facto compulsory system.
The Social Media Ban Is The Vaccine Passport Program Revisited Voluntary programs can evolve into mandatory requirements over time. During the Covid-19 pandemic, Vaccine Passports initially presented as voluntary measures soon became essential for accessing certain services and venues. This shift highlighted concerns about how "voluntary" programs can, in practice, become quasi-mandatory.
Parallels Between Vaccine Passports and Digital ID For Social Media • Initial Voluntariness: Both vaccine passports and the current Digital ID system started as voluntary initiatives.
• Increased Necessity: Over time, certain activities (like entering premises during the pandemic) or services (like accessing social media) required compliance with these "voluntary" measures.
• Privacy Concerns: Both programs raise significant privacy concerns, particularly regarding the collection and use of personal and biometric data.
• Public Trust: The shift from voluntary to mandatory can erode public trust and lead to resistance or backlash.
Conclusion The potential trajectory of the Social Media Ban, requiring ID and biometrics for age verification, could mirror the path of Vaccine Passports, effectively making Digital ID a necessity for certain activities.

Opinion Here’s how to get free Paxlovid as many times as you need it
When the public health emergency around covid-19 ended, vaccines and treatments became commercial products, meaning companies could charge for them as they do other pharmaceuticals. Paxlovid, the highly effective antiviral pill that can prevent covid from becoming severe, now has a list price of nearly $1,400 for a five-day treatment course.
Thanks to an innovative agreement between the Biden administration and the drug’s manufacturer, Pfizer, Americans can still access the medication free or at very low cost through a program called Paxcess. The problem is that too few people — including pharmacists — are aware of it.
I learned of Paxcess only after readers wrote that pharmacies were charging them hundreds of dollars — or even the full list price — to fill their Paxlovid prescription. This shouldn’t be happening. A representative from Pfizer, which runs the program, explained to me that patients on Medicare and Medicaid or who are uninsured should get free Paxlovid. They need to sign up by going to paxlovid.iassist.com or by calling 877-219-7225. “We wanted to make enrollment as easy and as quick as possible,” the representative said.
Indeed, the process is straightforward. I clicked through the web form myself, and there are only three sets of information required. Patients first enter their name, date of birth and address. They then input their prescriber’s name and address and select their insurance type.
All this should take less than five minutes and can be done at home or at the pharmacy. A physician or pharmacist can fill it out on behalf of the patient, too. Importantly, this form does not ask for medical history, proof of a positive coronavirus test, income verification, citizenship status or other potentially sensitive and time-consuming information.
But there is one key requirement people need to be aware of: Patients must have a prescription for Paxlovid to start the enrollment process. It is not possible to pre-enroll. (Though, in a sense, people on Medicare or Medicaid are already pre-enrolled.)
Once the questionnaire is complete, the website generates a voucher within seconds. People can print it or email it themselves, and then they can exchange it for a free course of Paxlovid at most pharmacies.
Pfizer’s representative tells me that more than 57,000 pharmacies are contracted to participate in this program, including major chain drugstores such as CVS and Walgreens and large retail chains such as Walmart, Kroger and Costco. For those unable to go in person, a mail-order option is available, too.
The program works a little differently for patients with commercial insurance. Some insurance plans already cover Paxlovid without a co-pay. Anyone who is told there will be a charge should sign up for Paxcess, which would further bring down their co-pay and might even cover the entire cost.
Several readers have attested that Paxcess’s process was fast and seamless. I was also glad to learn that there is basically no limit to the number of times someone could use it. A person who contracts the coronavirus three times in a year could access Paxlovid free or at low cost each time.
Unfortunately, readers informed me of one major glitch: Though the Paxcess voucher is honored when presented, some pharmacies are not offering the program proactively. As a result, many patients are still being charged high co-pays even if they could have gotten the medication at no cost.
This is incredibly frustrating. However, after interviewing multiple people involved in the process, including representatives of major pharmacy chains and Biden administration officials, I believe everyone is sincere in trying to make things right. As we saw in the early days of the coronavirus vaccine rollout, it’s hard to get a new program off the ground. Policies that look good on paper run into multiple barriers during implementation.
Those involved are actively identifying and addressing these problems. For instance, a Walgreens representative explained to me that in addition to educating pharmacists and pharmacy techs about the program, the company learned it also had to make system changes to account for a different workflow. Normally, when pharmacists process a prescription, they inform patients of the co-pay and dispense the medication. But with Paxlovid, the system needs to stop them if there is a co-pay, so they can prompt patients to sign up for Paxcess.
Here is where patients and consumers must take a proactive role. That might not feel fair; after all, if someone is ill, people expect that the system will work to help them. But that’s not our reality. While pharmacies work to fix their system glitches, patients need to be their own best advocates. That means signing up for Paxcess as soon as they receive a Paxlovid prescription and helping spread the word so that others can get the antiviral at little or no cost, too.

Don't Maram Ashour's children deserve to live with dignity?
My other promotion lists
Note: I do not often make posts for campaigns I am not focusing on, and I won't be updating this. I encourage others to adopt this campaign (because I can't right now) and make sure it gets the traction it needs.
Updated: Sep 20
Member(s): @ashourmohammed
Verification: link
Payment methods: Paypal, credit/debit
Summary: The Ashour family's 2 young children are traumatized as they've grown up knowing nothing but war. They all deal with inhospitable living conditions, but their youngest daughter (9 months old) is particularly at risk of disease (like polio) as she was born during displacement and received inadequate healthcare and vaccinations.
Current progress:
£ 1,826 / 25,000
Campaign/family details:
This campaign involves Maram Ashour, her husband, and their 2 young children Amir (3 years old) and Hoor (9 months old)
Funds are used for evacuation so the family can live a peaceful, dignified life.
The family live in a cloth tent that provides inadequate protection from the elements. My note: Many Gazans worry about the approaching cold weather.
Food is scarce whereas disease and insects are plentiful.
The family were displaced south of Gaza to the city of Deir al-Balah. During this, Maram had a difficult pregnancy and childbirth. Hoor was born in December.
She received inadequate birth healthcare and vaccinations. My note: This puts her at risk of polio like many other Gazan babies, which can be lethal.
Both children's lives are accompanied by constant bombing and explosions. Amir is terrified by them and has intense crying attacks when he hears them.
Maram asks "Don't my children have the right to live with dignity in a healthy environment and a stable life like the rest of the world's children?"

The feds do not have the right to go test healthy herds. But the states do, if sufficiently encouraged. Today Massachusetts brought down the hammer.
You can find ANYTHING with a properly chosen PCR test and enough iterations (cycles). Massachusetts admits it in today’s letter: there are NO sick cows. NO sick humans. But we need the damn virus! We can’t play the Biosecurity game or give out the vaccines without a virus!
The MDAR claims it will provide results quickly when it receives them from “the lab.” Did no one tell MDAR that any results at the state level will need to be verified by a federal USDA lab, so there are two labs that may be involved, and everyone will just have to live with USDA’s results? No private labs are allowed to perform a verification.
Again, no cows are sick. No humans are sick. No one has caught bird flu from food, ever.
There is NO evidence farm workers wearing PPE or keeping flocks indoors protects farmers or birds from anything.
If there was no PCR test we would not know this disease exists. There have been 9 confirmed human cases in the US in the last 2.5 years and before that, none. There are 5 other possible cases that probably tested negative, which is why CDC has not confirmed them. In the entire USA. None went to the hospital and none died.

Besides the unrepentant Jew-hatred, one of the worst things to come out of this conflict is that I have no more trust when it comes to news out of Gaza. None. My empathy has been taken advantage of too many times. At least 80% of the stories coming out of that strip of land always prove to be false after 24-48 hours of independent verification. There's always multiple "last hospital standing in Gaza." People always posting about "there's no power in Gaza" yet their cell phones are always working. Inflated death numbers. Lying about a famine. Half of the images out of that damn place are stolen from Syria. Another quarter are proven to be AI. There is no way to ever be sure what news out of Gaza is true or fake, and I'm tired of it.
I just assume any news from the Palestinians' mouths is a lie until it's proven true because they do not deserve the benefit of the doubt anymore.
I believe Palestinians in Gaza are suffering. The problem is that pretty much every activist and press group and NGO that could report on how badly they are suffering has been proven to be useful idiots at best, falling for the 2020 Gaza Rapture and how Israel sent tainted Covid vaccines to cause autism and how the worst thing that ever happened in the Middle East was the Al-Ahli hospital "bombing."
I'm sorry to say this but any time I have ever attempted discussion of this with a Palestinian-AMERICAN it has always proven pointless. I have never encountered one that knew the most basic history outside AJ's two-minute-hate soundbites. None had ever heard of the Peel Commission or al-Husseini. All of them, to the last, believed the two stripes on the Israeli flag symbolize ruling from the Nile to the Euphrates. One told me that Zionism had oppressed the good peaceful original Jews like Golda Meir who had identified as a Palestinian - because that person had never read her famous interview where she declared "Palestinian" meant Jew and that there was no such thing as a distinctly Palestinian Arab at all. Meir was taking the hardest-core anti-Palestinian stance imaginable and this AMERICAN COLLEGE GRADUATE saw it as solidarity! They know NOTHING - about their enemy! How the fuck does that work? How can someone have an adversary in a long conflict and make zero effort to learn who they are, what they care about, why they are there? And as I've pointed out before, this unlettered bluffing goes to the highest levels of Palestinian society. It is a roadmap to failure.

Ah, come on!?!
SIX
Ilia Amitola squeezed her hands together as was led room by room through her on-boarding process. The first room was like a scene from a bad police drama, with a rather unhinged blond-haired woman asking her about every facet of her short life. It was rather unnerving the amount of information the woman had on Ilia.
After the interrogation, she was led into what amounted to a doctor's office and went through and extensive... and invasive examination. Ilia shivered as she remembered the number of shots, vaccinations, and blood samples she was subjected to.
The third room, looked like a school room, and this is where she had been for the last four hours. Watching videos, reading manuals, and writing short multiple choice tests. All of it about policy, procedures, the Inner Circle's mission statement, and the organizations... structure of command.
Ilia: (Mumbling to herself) I might have made a mistake.
????: Ms Ilia Amitola?
Ilia: (Looking up from the seventeenth manual she was reading) Yes?
????: Hello, I'm Terra Cotta-Arc. I'm here to escort you to the department you have been assigned to. If you please.
Ilia: I'm already assigned to a department? Can I ask which one, or is it a secret?
Terra: Of course you can know to which department you have been assigned. It wouldn't make much sense to hire and on-board you and then not tell you where you'd be working.
Ilia: Sorry... just been a long day.
Terra: I've been there. You think this is bad, wait until you try dating one of the Arcs... that's a verification process.
Ilia: Sorry? Did you say dating?
Terra: Well, not dating anymore. (Lifts her left hand to show the golden band on her ring finger) I married into the family!
Ilia: Ah... um... congratulations?
Terra: Thank you, (grows serious) but don't think you can sleep your way up to the top. People are promoted by merit and talent... not who they shack up with.
Ilia: Okay? Wasn't planning on doing any of that...
Terra: Good. Now please follow me.
/==/ A 1 Hour Bus Ride Later /==/
Ilia was really starting to feel like she had made a massive mistake in signing up with the Inner Circle. The White Fang was bad enough, but this place... this organization just seemed... whacked. During the ride over Terra informed Ilia she would be assigned to the Grimm Development Department.
That shocked Ilia as she had no idea that Grimm could be... developed. Then seeing the building the supposedly secure and state of art lab was located in... a rundown warehouse. Brought that deep sense of disappointment back... hard and fast.
Terra: Let me introduce you to your co-workers!
Ilia: Okay... I guess?
Terra: Don't let the looks fool you. Jaune runs a tight ship and is VERY talented.
Ilia: Is he?
Terra: He is. (Her smile becomes sinister) I do suggest and thoughts of seducing him and then breaking his heart... better vanish from your pretty little head.
Ilia: I wasn't! I swear! I'm into women!
Terra: Be that as it may. (Terra's smile grew more malicious.) We have ways to make problems... disappear. Don't become a problem. Okay?
Ilia: Yes, I completely understand. No problem here, ever.
Terra: (Cheery smile instantly returns) Great!
Ilia fought hard to not visibly shake as Terra lead her to the door and opened it.
Terra: Jaune! I have someone you need to meet!
Jaune: (Muffled) BUSY!
Terra: Jaune! Get over here and introduce yourself to your new co-worker!
Jaune / Wolfie / Hydra: CO-WORKER! We have a CO-WORKER?
Terra: Yes, no come out and meet her!
Ilia was seriously, as in deeply seriously reconsidering her life choices as she heard the stampede of feet rushing in her direction.

so, idk if i should do this for my two of my friends bc my parents dont approve of me doing it for others.....so i kinda need advice on what imma bouta do for em it's about disabilities and the ph government i cant post this anywhere else but tumblr .com so
tw one mention of hospitals n overdosing
slightly long post but i need sound advice 😭😭😭😭
so disabled people here have this pwd card thing, however they are very restrictive and pedantic about the application and SLOW AS FUCK for the processing. only recently (last month i think) did they approve of mental disabilities as a disability. the card is difficult to get. two of my friends are neurodivergent and one of them has depression, however their families aren't that...well, receptive about it.
it's not my first time falsifying documents so im thinking:
i replicate my doctor's prescribing pad and ‘prescribe’ them medicines as proof of their illness, ive been prescribed a ton of different medicines so it's quite easy to make combinations hshhssh,  i also need to falsify a certificate vouching and verufying that they do have an illness. it's fucked up bc they are ill andidk why they need so many verification steps to give the benefits i fucking hate this governmnt why do disabled people need to prove shit multiple times but yeah im not actually falsifying because their illness and disability is real and the government is a fucking asshole abt it so let's use create and not falsify as a verb uwu
i can also create an admission slip for them by replicating and just modifying my own slip from the time i overdosed (twice hshsh) as proof that theyve been hospitalized due to their mental illness bc just the presc. pad may not be enough, so for good measure yep.
i can just accompany them or give them a script of what to say when they get interviewed.
ive falsified vaccination cards for my oarents bc theyre anti vaxxers and i coyldnt fucking get them to ge the vaccine (gurl they are gonna drive me insane) and it worked, ive also falsified an id for myself saying im 21 during the pandemic too bc only people olderthan 21 can run errands and minors werent allowed to go out accoding to our local gov. and i was elected president during my 1st yr bc i made effetive excuse letters that our dean didnt question (mfs (my classmates) said i was doing gods work for em theyre lucky i love em) and ive recently copied someone's signature to get an spa (special power of attorney) andlied to our social security system (went okay hshwhhs) so WHY CANT I DO IT FOR MY FRIENDS IF I CAN DO IT FOR MY FAMILY FUCK GATEKEEPING THIS IS ABOUT DISABLED PEOPLE NOT GETING THEIR RIGHTFUL BENEFITS THIS IS ABOUT THE PEOPLE I ALSO CARE ABOUT
but yeah it's not easy, but to me it's only proper they ge their benefits like i did.
(also cheated mine bc like i said they only considered mental health recently so i went and falsified that i have really reaaly horrible eyesight and bribed my optometrist AHSHSHHWHSSH)
so should i go ahead with this and override my parent's permission bc i am still a lil scared of my mom this could cause a big fight but like...i love these ppl, i want them to have a slightly better life man hshhhahsshsh

Kuwait has forced over one million citizens to hand over their biometric data in one of the most extreme pushes for digital ID. Kuwait introduced a national electronic ID (eID) that they say will assist with identification verification, digital signatures, E-government access, and the secure exchange of data. The deadline to file for this mandatory program was September 30 and the consequences for failing to comply were swift.
On October 1, the Ministry of Interior announced that those who failed to submit their data would be prohibited from all electronic services such as withdrawals, transfers, and account transfers. One cannot even withdraw cash. Around 35,000 people have been blocked out of their bank accounts and are unable to even view the balance. A few weeks later, those in noncompliance has their electronic bank cards deactivated. Visa, MasterCard, and K-Net all abided by the government’s rule.
Beginning on November 1, The Kuwait Banking Association stated it will implement a “complete block” on all accounts, which means one cannot even withdraw funds if they go to the bank in person. Expatriates have until December 31 to submit their biometric registration.
The government has reported an uptick of 6,000 new registrants per day compared to 600 since they began blocking citizens from accessing their own bank accounts. The government called this a “phased approach,” believing they’ve offered leniency to the public.
The issue here is that governments globally are strapped for funds and believe that they can increase revenues by at least 35% if they hunt down their citizens for taxes. Then we have the layer of the Great Reset put forth by Klaus Schwab and the World Economic Forum that is aiming to create a One World Government complete with a global database to track absolutely everyone. Australian journalist Maria Zaric has called it a “digital prison.” Once you’re locked in, you’re locked in. People will be less likely to speak out against the government, protest, or refuse vaccinations if they know their government can immediately exile them from society. This is more than a mere identification as it provides the government with instant access to all of your information and they will track your every movement. This is only the beginning of a massive wave of tyranny. Our computer has been warning that we have been entering into a more authoritarian mode that will reach a head in 2032.

I don’t know what to ask for first… Should I raise funds to save my family facing annihilation under the relentless bombing in Gaza? Or to secure their basic needs—food, clothing, and tents to protect them from the rain? Should I focus on paying the rent for our apartment, or we might end up on the streets? Should I ask for help to provide milk, diapers, and vaccinations for my baby girl? Or to cover the treatments for my father-in-law, who is battling kidney cancer? Or perhaps to meet our daily needs for food and other essentials?
The world has conspired against us—now we are without a homeland, without a home, without work, and we have no idea where this path will take us. Your support could be the lifeline we so desperately need in these dark times.

Help Siraj care for 5 families and rebuild his life.
Summary: Siraj's current short-term goal is for buying water purifying tools to help prevent the 10 children in his family from getting Polio (which is life-threatening).
Update: Sep 6
Member: @siraj2024
Verification: #219 on the Vetted Evacuation Fundraiser spreadsheet.
Payment methods: Credit/debit, Paypal (contact @/malcriada. Details here, scroll down to 'Note' section)
Current progress:
CAD $66,375 69,084 / 70,000 (by Sep 5. Overdue!)
/ 82,000 (long term goal)
Campaign/family details:
Siraj is a journalist and struggling as the sole provider for 5 families of 23 people.
His family home was destroyed and the members were displaced 7 times.
Skin infections are common in Gaza due to people living in close proximity and high hygiene prices. Siraj's family were not spared from this, but our contributions helped improve their hygiene and provide medical care.
Sep 3 update:
This post says it better than I can, but mine is the shorter version and has some info about Polio.
Infrastructure breakdown lead to contaminated water, which poliovirus spreads through. It was found in Gaza's wastewater recently, marking the reemergence of the life-threatening disease of Polio after 25 years of absence. 2 articles: here and here
Children are primarily at risk as many are not fully vaccinated. They are either too young and/or Oct 7 interrupted the schedule.
Siraj is now responsible for 10 children and can no longer put off buying a submersible water generator and network tools to ensure that his family has access to clean water.
Note: I do not often make posts for campaigns I am not focusing on, and I won't be updating this unless told to. I encourage others to adopt this campaign (because I can't right now) and make sure it gets the traction it needs.

the global north really subjects third world citizens to some absolutely bonkers bureaucratic hurdles.
you have to get verification for about 10 vaccines that are famously not mandated in for usamerican citizens. a doctor's signature is not enough evidence. i need the batch numbers of the vials i got injected from in 1998. but since nobody was recording that on my vaccine card in india, i have to get expensive blood tests for antibodies. india does not have measles outbreaks yknow.

Note
Questioning the "science" of vaccines is one thing and I wholeheartedly agree with that. One can always get a second opinion. Having said that, when claims of such things as, chips in vaccines and putting out statements like; these vaccines are a means to control the population because the world has too many people, then we have unfounded bizarre notions planted in people's weak minds. I asked the nurse when I got the last booster; how many chips are you giving me this time? She laughed and said; Right. Oh boy oh boy.
There are ridiculous claims on the internet about danged near anything. Why, just the other day I read some schmoe make the claim that Joe Biden is cognitively sound if you can believe that happy crap.
The point is, do a little research. Use critical thinking skills. Use trustworthy sources. Watch for the bias and deal with facts. Ignore breathless hyperbole and spin. And NEVER, under any circumstances, trust what the government tells you without verification.
